Poor Len: No-name Habs not so bad, so far

Ed. here. Walt is on his way to la Belle Province -- Québec! -- to follow the last few days of the election campaign which pits the governing Liberals against the populist Coalition pour l'Avenir du Québec (CAQ - Coalition for the Future of Québec). He will be joined by Poor Len Canayen, and who knows, the boys may forget about politics for a couple of hours and take in the Canadiens' final pre-season game in Montréal tomorrow night. Poor Len has already sent in his comments on prospects for the Habs' 2018-19 season, as follows....

Tank you, Hed, and bless me, Fodder, for a couple of weeks ago I was pretty close to committing the sin of despair, looking at what was left of la Sainte Flannelle as training camp started.

Max Pacioretty is gone, traded to Las Vegas, and I wish him well. Without ever having played alongside a topline centre, he did his best, and deserved better from the team. Alex Galchenyuk and his father are gone -- no bad thing, but did we get a 20-goal scorer in return? Errr, no. Shea Weber is on the injured list and not likely to be back at work until December. And did Marc Bergevin listen to me and invite the Russians -- Markov and Emelin -- to return from Siberia? Again, no.

What was left was about four dozen AHL-quality players (including a handful who played with the big team last year because there was no-one else), a couple of nice pickups acquired in the trades, and a few promising prospects and rookies. The chances of putting together a team that could get as far as the playoffs looked pretty slim.

Last night the Habs' B-team (missing Price, Drouin, Gallagher, Petry, Plekanec) took on the Toronto Maple Leafs' equivalent (read: the Toronto Marlies) and beat them 5-1 without hardly breaking a sweat. D-man Xavier Ouellet, an NHL vet in training camp with a two-way contract, helped his chances of making the opening-night NHL roster by scoring two goals. Artturi Lehkonen, one of those whose future with les Glorieux was in question, got two, and Charles Hudon, one of the AHLers, had one. Antii Niemi was solid in goal and the Habs' first-round draft pick, Jesper Kotkaniemi sparkled.

But, before we start planning the Stanley Cup parade down the Main, let's remember that the real point of the exercise was to thin out the roster and make some decisions about which Canadien wannabes are surplus to requirements. The team announced this morning that Mike McCarron, Byron Froese, Brett Lernout, Rinat Valiev and Hunter Shinkaruk were all put on waivers. McCarron and Froese can't complain that they didn't have a chance. Both were in uniform several times last season, and simply didn't perform.

Forward Nick Suzuki showed promise, but has been sent back to his junior team, the Owen Sound Attack, to get bigger and better. The same should happen to Kotkaniemi, but it will be hard to resist the temptation to keep him in Montréal to give the fans a Great White Hope to talk about.

With the dead wood and tender buds pruned out, here's how the lines and defence pairings looked at today's practice:

Forwards: Tatar – Danault – Gallagher; Drouin – Domi – Armia; Byron – Kotkaniemi – Lehkonen; Hudon – Plekanec – Scherbak; D'Agostino – de la Rose – Chaput
Poor Len sez: Hudon, Scherbak and De La Rose should go back to Laval. I didn't see enough of D'Agostino and Chaput to form an opinion.

Defence: Mete – Juulsen; Reilly – Petry; Benn – Schlemko; Alzner – Despres; Ouellet
Poor Len sez: This is where the rebuild/reset/whatever has to happen. Both Benn and Alzner are candidates for the mercy buy-out. I have no confidence in Schlemko and haven't seen anything great from Juulsen but at least he's young. Like Ouellet a lot! The big question is whether Shea Weber will ever play again at the level he used to.

Goalies: Price; Niemi; Lindgren
Poor Len sez: What to do with Lindgren? The more I see him, the more contrast I see between him and Carey Price. Price is cool in the net. Lindgren is hot! He's constantly jumping around, doing acrobatics and, IMHO, trying too hard. Not good. Niemi has earned the backup position (best seat in the arena!) so let him have it. Trade Lindgren to a team which likes his style. And if something should (God forbid!) happen to Carey Price? There's a fine young prospect, Michael McNiven, who can be brought up from Laval to backstop Niemi. Sorry, Charlie, but bye-bye.

That's all from the sports desk. J'vous verrai prochainement!

Vatican bends the knee to Chinese commies in secret accord

Writing in the Fatima Crusader almost 11 years ago, a supporter of the "underground" Catholic Church in China predicted that the Vatican's efforts "to proceed on the path of a respectful and constructive dialogue with government authorities, in order to overcome past misunderstandings" between the Holy See and Communist China would eventually result in the betrayal of the many 1000s of Chinese Catholics who had been imprisoned, tortured and even martyred for their fidelity to Rome.

"We must ask some hard questions," the writer concluded. "Will the Vatican find itself forced into an immoral compromise? Will they wrongfully try to force the faithful to end their 'underground activities' and worship only in the Communist-controlled 'church'? Surely the thousands who have been persecuted, even martyred for the sake of True Faith deserve better!"

In fact, the sellout to the Communists began at least six years earlier, by the Holy See's Secretariat of State, as part of its wrong-headed Ostpolitik. Cardinal Joseph Zen (陳日君) saw it coming, and fought against it from the beginning, when he was Archbishop of Hong Kong and after his retirement, right up to today. See, for example, "Cardinal Zen again warns Vatican not sell out to Chinese Commies", WWW 26/1/18. And click here to see all Walt's posts about the courageous prelate.

The Cardinal's warnings went unheeded, of course, and this weekend the Vatican announced the signig of an agreement with the People's Republic of China giving the Communist government "a role in the appointment of new bishops." Henceforth, the Beijing government will name candidates for episcopal office, with the Pope allowed a choice from among the government's nominees. What else were they given? We don't know, for the terms of the accord were not made public.

But, you may ask, hasn't the Roman Catholic Church fought against communism since the 19th century, going so far as to make it a sin to belong to the Communist Party or any secret society? How can the Vatican now order faithful Chinese Catholics to dismantle their "underground Church" and get into bed [into the pew, shurely! Ed.] with the Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association, the schismatic "church" set up by the Communists after they took power in 1940?

Oh nooooo, dear reader! That's old-fashioned thinking! All that changed after Vatican II. This reconciliation with the enemies of Christianity is for the good of the faithful. "The objective of the Holy See is a pastoral one: the Holy See intends just to create the condition, or help to create the condition, of a greater freedom, autonomy, and organization" for the Catholic Church in China. So says Cardinal Pietro Parolin (aka "Peter the Roman") in a statement (in English, for some reason) explaining the accord.

Besides, the Vatican says, the agreement is "provisional" and "foresees the possibility of periodic reviews of its application." Which means... I guess... that they can renege, if it turns out the Commies got the better of the bargain. That would seem to be self-evident, since the Vatican apparently received, errr, nothing in return for its capitulation.

Opponents of the accord say that by giving greater power to the Communist government, the agreement will ultimately put greater pressure on the "underground Church" that has, up till now, resisted government control. Cardinal Zen said angrily that Cardinal Parolin should resign from office because of his betrayal of China's faithful Catholics.

As part of the deal, Pope Francis agreed to lift the excommunication incurred by bishops who had been installed by the Communist government without the approval of the Holy See. Also, the Vatican "persuaded" two bishops of the "underground Church", who had not been recognized by Beijing, to resign and be replaced by prelates of the CPCA. Perhaps the real bishops were lucky. At least they weren't imprisoned or executed!

Walt wonders how bad things would have to get to make the Pope (or should I say Cardinal Parolin, who pulls Francis's strings) see the trap into which he has led us, and call for a "review" of the accord... as if the Communists would actually let that happen. How many "house churches" would have to be raided? How many faithful Catholics would have to be arrested? How many priests and bishops would have to be shut up in prisons or "mental hospitals"? How many would have to be martyred?

Dear Catholic readers, please pray harder than ever for the faithful Catholics of China. They flock been delivered by the shepherds into the care of the wolves. Pray that God and His Holy Mother will give them the strength and courage to keep the Faith. O glorious Archangel St. Michael, Prince of the heavenly host, defend us in battle, and in the struggle which is ours against the principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against spirits of wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12)

"You disagree with our liberal ideology? You must be insane!"

Speaking of rightist parties led by good-looking women (see below)... there was a disturbing item on the mojo wire a couple of days ago. Seems that Marine Le Pen, the leader of France's Rassemblement National (formerly Front National) has been ordered by magistrates in Nanterre to "undergo a psychiatric examination".

WHY? It's all part of an exercise in political correctness, the mainstream parties' vendetta against her for daring to challenge the liberal orthodoxy which refuses to acknowledge the intrinsic evil of Islamic extremism, as espoused and practised by the Islamic State.

In December of 2015, Mme Le Pen tweeted three pictures of killings carried out by ISIS terrorists, accompanied by the text "Daesh [Arabic term for ISIS] is THIS!" One of the pictures showed the body of James Foley, whom the Muslim extremists beheaded in August 2014.

Mme Le Pen posted the graphic images, since deleted, in response to journalist Jean-Jacques Bourdin, who had compared her nationalist rhetoric to that of the Islamic terrorist group. Speaking to French meeja earlier this year, she said that she is being charged for having "condemned the horrors of Daesh." For that, she said, "the 'justice system' has referred [me] to a psychiatric assessment. How far will they go?!"

That's a good question. A number of politicians have lambasted the magistrates' decision. Matteo Salvini, Deputy Prime Minister of Italy, took to Twitter to express support for the French politician. "A court orders a psychiatric assessment for Marine Le Pen. Words fail me!", he wrote. "Solidarity with her and with the French who love freedom!"

Gilbert Collard, a member of the National Assembly called the order "the psychiatrization of political opinion." And so it is. It comes down to this: Our liberal policies are reasonable and progressive. You disagree with our policies. Therefore you must be insane. Right out of the Soviet and Chinese Communist textbooks on the stifling of dissent.

If you think that equating dissent with insanity isn't part of the liberals' grand strategy, consider the title of Matt Taibbi's recent book, Insane Clown President. Good book, but that's not the point. My point is that if the expression of politically incorrect, "anti-progressive" views can be labelled as a symptom of mental illness, none of us is safe from having our wigs picked by people who are themselves teetering on the brink.

What happens then? No psychiatrist worth his or her $200/hour ever found a subject who didn't need "help". Next thing you know... One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest! And, as the movie (one of my favourites) shows, once you're in the clutches of the "mental health system", you don't get out unless and until those who control the system are good and ready. Mark my words, dear readers. I know whereof I speak.

People's Parties on the rise. Are you in?

Countries with red-and-white flags have a propensity, it seems, to welcome "People's Parties", to stand up for the rights of their own citizens over those of outsiders. Switzerland has the Swiss People's Party. Austria has the Austrian People's Party. And, as reported here earlier this month, Maxime "Mad Max" Bernier has found the People's Party of Canada/Parti Populaire du Canada. (Notice the beautiful flag in the picture.) At least two of Walt's agents have joined. If you're a Canuck and you think unity is more important than diversity, do ye likewise!

Where were we... Yes, Switzerland, Austria, Canada... and let's not forget Denmark, whose Danish People's Party leads the alliance opposed to the Social Democrats, and has already been effective in getting the country's parliament to pass a motion, in February of 2017, calling on the pinko government to reduce the number of asylum-seekers and "family reunification" migrants. See "'Ethnic cleansing' of Europeans opposed by Danish parliament", WWW 17/2/17,

Also present in the Danish parliament is the Conservative People's Party. And now there's another one, even further to the right, called the New Right [Politicians who tell it like it is! Ed.], led by a woman [obviously. Ed.] named Pernille Vermund. Here's her pic. Notice the beautiful flag.)

Would you vote for her? The New Right received 4.6% per cent of votes in a recent election, and an opinion poll from Norstat shows that the party is now larger than the two bourgeois parties, the Conservative People's Party and the Liberal Alliance. They have almost doubled their support since August. Why is the popularity of the New Right growing so fast? Check out this statement from Ms Vermund.

The New Right have been passionately critical of the Danish People's Party, which they say is not conservative or populist, but leftist on economics, and "confusing" on issues of immigration, much like Canada's so-called Conservative Party. The New Right has put immigration policy at the heart of its platform. They want to see a total stop to asylum-seekers, with migrants already in country being expelled at their first criminal conviction.

They also want to introduce the requirement that foreigners support themselves and not suck off the government tit. "Muslim welfare migrants" should be deported, they say. How novel! "The policy currently underway does not solve the problems. They get worse. It will not get any better. Our goal is to reverse the trend before it is too late."

ISIS AGAIN claims responsibility for Toronto mass shooting

Way back in July -- how quickly we forget -- a lone gunman opened fire into a crowd into a crowd of restaurant-goers on Danforth Avenue, in Toronto's famous Greektown, killing two innocent people and wounding 15 before turning the gun on himself. No shouts of "Allahu akbar!" were heard, and the identity of the killer was suppressed by the police and lamestream media. Walt was one of many who speculated that Faisal Hussain -- for that was his name -- was an Islamic extremist. See "Non-gangsta gunman shoots 14 in Toronto", WWW 23/7/18.

The official politically correct government line, right from the get-go, was that Mr Hussain was mentally ill. That he happened to be an Afghan "newcomer" and a follower of the prophet was just a coincidence. Within hours, hours of the release of the accused's name, a professionally-written statement, in proper English, was sent out "on behalf of the Hussain family", explaining that "our son had severe mental health challenges, struggling with psychosis and depression his entire life."

The statement was written by Mohammed [What else? Ed.] Hashim, a full-time organizer for the Toronto & York Region Labour Council. Social media accounts belonging to Mr Hashim show him heavily involved in supporting NDP (= "social democratic") candidates both federally and provincially in Ontario. He's also described as a driving force behind the National Council of Canadian Muslims. See "Meet the spin doctor behind the Hussain family statement", by Anthony Furey, in the Toronto Sun, 25/7/18.

Walt's bullshit meter went right off the scale on that one, the more so when, on the very same day, ISIS/ISIL claimed responsibility for the vicious attack. See "'Allahu akbar!' ISIS claims responsibility for Greektown shooting", WWW 25/7/18. One of Canada's "independent" broadcasters (but not the state-owned Canadian Broadcorping Castration) passing on a quote from the Islamic terrorists' AMAQ news agency, which referred to Mr Hussain as "a soldier of the Islamic State" who "carried out the attack in response to calls to target the citizens of the coalition countries."

Although one must always take claims from ISIS/ISIL cum grano salis, Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders put extra lipstick on the pig, saying his force's investigation had uncovered "no evidence to support these claims." The government called in the usual gang of "terrorism experts" to warn against accepting the ISIL claim at face value. "We'll look into it further, but don't expect a conclusion other than that Hussain was such a wild and crazy guy. Nothing to see here, folks."

Ah yes... we're looking into it... the default response of "the authorities" to anything that doesn't accord with the liberal line that Islam is a religion of peace, there's no jihad going on, and "diversity is our strength" (gaggg). Indeed, the investigation is still "active and ongoing", according to an affidavit filed by the Toronto police in response to an application in Ontario's Superior Court by several news outlets to smash the cone of silence and unseal details of the search warrants in the case. The cops are fighting to prevent the release of the information "to ensure the integrity of the investigation is maintained." Oh, hahahahahaha...

Meanwhile, this past Sunday, a propaganda video released by pro-Islamic State media named July's atrocity as IS's "most successful foreign operation of the year." The video by the Al-Abd Al-Faqir Media Foundation mimics a corporate year-end review of operations. Called "Harvest of the Lone Lions", it features excerpts from the most recent speech by Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS/ISIL, in which he praises attackers in the West, according to a translation by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

The information on the Toronto attack includes imagery taken from mainstream media after the shooting, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau speaking to the media. The rating and casualty information is superimposed over an animated scene of a tattered Canadian flag in a burning urban landscape.

As noted above, this is not the first such claim by IS. Nor is it the second. This is the third claim connecting the deadly attack to ISIS/ISIL, but still the Canuck authorities say they have no evidence from ISIL or its media affiliates that the gunman acted on behalf of any organizations. Requests from the Canuck meeja for comment on this latest claim have so far not been answered. M-103.

VIDEO: "Join the Catholic Church and go to hell!"

Father John Hollowell is a Roman Catholic priest, serving in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. On YouTube he has 13,000 followers, and counting. He is not yet a "rad trad" (see yesterday's post "Vatican cover-up of homosexual crimes leaves no choice for Catholics -- leave the Church or join us 'rad trads'" -- includes great video by Michael Matt) but it sounds to me he knows and keeps to the faith of our fathers (living still in spite of dungeon, fire and Francis) so will have to give Michael Matt's exhortation some serious consideration.

In this video, Fr Hollowell deconstructs and refutes three mistaken beliefs that many Protestants and other non-Catholics have about the Catholic Faith. Those who hate, or at least disagree with Catholicism quote Holy Scripture to "prove" that Catholics are wrong in their beliefs and practices. They refer, in particular, to these three passages from the Gospels. (I am using the Protestant King James Version to avoid any quibbles about the exact words.)

Matthew 23:9 - And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
John 6:54 - Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
Matthew 16:18 - And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Those are the words of Jesus, the Son of God, and those who opposed Catholicism argue that we are wrong in how we interpret them. Father Hollowell explains where the Catholic interpretation comes from and why the meaning believed by Catholics for nearly 2000 years is to be preferred.

Note: For those who were wondering... The "RCIA" to which Father refers at the beginning is the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (Ordo Initiationis Christianae Adultorum), a process developed by the Church for prospective converts who are above the age of infant baptism. Two of Walt's agents have been teachers in this programme. Getting back to today's crisis in the Church, the problem nowadays seems to be finding someone who wants to be taught!

VIDEO: Vatican cover-up of homosexual crimes leaves no choice for Catholics -- leave the Church or join us "rad trads"

Earlier this week, the Vatican gave a belated and totally inadequate response to the allegations of Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, whose Testimony asserts that Pope Francis knew years ago of the activities of Cardinal McCarrick, the homosexual predator, and did nothing about the scandalous situation. What is the Holy Father's plan? Wait for it... He has "called the leaders of the world's episcopal conferences to Rome, to speak about the prevention of abuse of minors and vulnerable adults". Errr, that's it.

Yes, dear Catholic (and other) friends, you read that right. More than five years after Francis announced his plan to set up a special commission to recommend plans and policies for "the prevention of abuse of minors and vulnerable adults", the situation has, if anything, worsened. So what to do? Have another meeting! And did I mention when the meeting will be held? In February of next year! Until then, according to the Cardinal Archbishop of Chicago, the Pope will be too busy talking about climate change and being nice to refugees. "We won't be going down that rabbit hole!" (Actual quote from Cardinal Cupich. See "Cardinal Cupich goes off the deep end", with excellent video by Michael Matt, WWW 4/9/18.)

The TOR (Terms Of Reference) for the meeting look to have been drawn up by a team of Vatican lawyers -- the type of men who can pick fly-specks out of pepper with boxing gloves on. The scope of the meeting is carefully limited to preclude any discussion of the plague of sodomy between priests and "consenting adults" aged 18 or over. That leaves plenty of room for actively homosexual priests, bishops, cardinals and... others... to continue their activity.

Francis obviously has no intention of addressing the influence of a homosexual network among the clergy unless its activity involves an actual rape prosecutable under civil law. Even then, however, the cover-ups will continue as much as possible in the current climate of public scrutiny. The Gay Mafia wins again!

So... time for another video -- the second I've reposted this month -- featuring Michael J. Matt, editor of The Remnant newspaper. In "Michael Matt talks about calls for Pope Francis to resign, calls Archbishop Viganò 'Instrument of Divine Intervention'", WWW 2/9/18, I said "Mr Matt just keeps getting better and better. Perhaps he is driven to outdo himself by the increasingly parlous state of the Roman Catholic Church." In his latest video, Mr Matt not only steps outside the box but also smashes it to bits as he analyses what's really going on with the clerical sex abuse crisis.

"What is the Viganò Effect? How do Vatican II and the New Mass come into this? With the Catholic Church clearly occupied, should faithful Catholics just join the lynch mob? What's a faithful Catholic to do?" You'll find Mr Matt's carefully reasoned answer in the last few minutes. Dear Catholic readers, the time has come!

This is about the culture of denial of homoclericalism -- a homosexual subculture in the Catholic clergy as the core issue underlying recent sex abuse scandals assailing the Roman Catholic Church.

"Mad Max" announces formation of new pro-Canada conservative party

Switzerland has its Swiss People's Party. Austria has its Austrian People's Party. And now, at last, there's a People's Party of Canada for all the Canucks who are fed up with the so-called Conservative Party of Canada, which really is the "alt-Liberal" party -- same as the Trudeau gang only with an older and slightly whiter face.

Yes, Maxime Bernier, who left the Somewhat Conservatives to sit as the independent Member of Parliament for Beauce, has made good on his promise to founding of a new party prepared to stand up for conservative and Canadian values.

"Mad Max" today announced the formation of the People's Party of Canada: www.peoplespartyofcanada.ca. M Bernier says he wants the new party to fight for free-market values as well defend ordinary citizens against the power of special interest groups. In prepared remarks, he said the PPC will "respect our traditions, our history, and what makes Canada a unique place in the world, without trying to forcibly change it like the current Liberal government is doing."

The name translates easily into French too, so I think Max is going to try to work both sides of the street/la rue, which is as it should be. The lamestream media don't like to say it, but there's more anti-immigrant feeling in Québec (outside of Montréal) than places like the soi-disant Greater Toronto Area, so the PPC should get a lot of traction there quickly. All they need now is to get the rest of Ontario and the rest of Canada on board. Walt wishes Mad Max bonne chance!

"Europe belongs to Europeans!" - Dalai Lama (!)

As reported here on WWW, Sweden had a general election last weekend. One of the main ballot questions (if not the main ballot question), was what to do with the "refugees", asylum-seekers and other migrants flooding into the country. The rightist Sweden Democrats, whose policy is to turn them back at the borders or send them back where they came from, did well, although not as well as hoped.

In a masterpiece of coincidental timing, the Dalai Lama, spiritual leader of millions of Tibetan Buddhists, weighed in on the subject on Wednesday. If he had spoken out before the election, he might well have been accused by the lefties and SJWs of meddling, for what he said came as a shock to the do-good weenies who are assisting the suicide of Europe.

Visiting Sweden to celebrate the 80th anniversary of its international anti-poverty efforts, the Dalai Lama asseerted that refugees should be repatriated to they can rebuild the shitholes ["lands", shurely! Ed.] they came from. Why? Because, the holy man told the earnest one-worlders, "Europe belongs to the Europeans!"

Speaking in the multicultural city of Malmö, where Iraqis are the single biggest ethnic group and native-born Swedes are in the minority, the Nobel Prize laureat said Sweden is seen as "a peaceful, generally prosperous country” with a relatively small gap between rich and poor." But then, according to Norrköpings Tidningar, he "spontaneously moved on to talk about one of the biggest issues in the Swedish election — the reception of refugees."

Noting that a large number of immigrants have settled in Europe from the Middle East and elsewhere, he said it was good for nations to help "a refugee really facing danger against their life" -- a subtle suggestion that some of the "refugees" coming to Europe were actually economic migrants. "Receive them, help them, educate them, the holy man concluded, "but ultimately they should develop their own country."

Syrian refugee charged with murder of 13-year-old BC girl

This is... or was... Marrisa Shen, a girl from Burnaby BC who didn't live to see her 14th birthday.

She was last seen leaving her apartment building around 1800 on 18 July 2017. Surveillance footage later showed the teenager entering a nearby Tim Hortons minutes after she left her apartment across from the city's Central Park. She stayed there for an hour and a half. Her family reported her missing to police at 2330, and her body was found in the brush in the southeast corner of the park a little more than an hour later. Police have not revealed how she was killed, nor if she was sexually assaulted.

Last Friday, Ibrahim Ali, 28, of Burnaby was charged with the first-degree murder of the young girl. The sum total of what the police and the lamestream media are saying about the accused is that he is "a Syrian national and permanent Canadian resident" who arrived in Canada "17 months ago". By my calendar, that would be around Valentine's Day of 2017, or about four months before Marrisa was killed. He was arrested in Burnaby on Sept. 7.

Disregarding M-103, Walt has some innocent questions: What is Mr Ali's religion? Is he by any chance a follower of the Prophet? Is he one of the 50,000 Syrian refugees that the arch-virtue-signaller Justin Trudeau, brought to Canada in a fit of misguided humanitarianism? If not, how did he get to be a permanent resident so quickly? What was Mr Ali's employment status at the time of his arrest? Was he working, or sponging off Canadian taxpayers like so many of the other 49,999?

A prize will be given for the first reader to spot the word "refugee" in any version of this story appearing in the Canadian media. Send a .pdf file or screenshot to Ed. at the usual address. Earliest time stamp wins.

UPDATE ADDED 1800: The contest announced above is over. Our very own Ed. hunted up the Vancouver Sun and found "Ibrahim Ali, 28, charged with first-degree murder of Burnaby teen Marrisa Shen", which includes this paragraph: Ali is a Syrian national and a permanent resident who came to Canada 17 months ago, Richardson said. She did not know whether he was a privately-sponsored or government-assisted refugee, but believed he does have family in Burnaby and is employed. As if there was any doubt about the "refugee" part.... The last two words came as a surprise though.

FURTHER VIEWING, added 11/9/18: Here's the report (with full credit to the Vancouver Sun) by Sheila Gunn Reid of The Rebel.Media.

Right-wing Sweden Democrats make big gains in election

The ballot question in yesterday's general election in Sweden was immigration, and the resultant rise in crime and decline in standards in the world's foremost cradle-to-grave nanny state. Proportionately, Sweden took in even more bogus refugees, asylum-seekers and other undesirables in the tsunami of 2015 than Angela Merkel's Germany. With a population of 10 million, the Swedes welcomed a record 163,000 mostly Muslim migrants in 2015 — the highest per capita of any European country.

The result has been a spike in crime, perpetrated by the poor, disadvantaged "refugees". Large parts of cities like Stockholm and (especially) Malmö, have been declared "no-go zones", where the cops and other first responders fear to tread. Social services are under tremendous strain, as Swedish taxpayers are forced by their liberal government to pony up for welfare, health care and other benefits for the indigent newcomers. See "Ezra Levant tours the mean Muslim streets of Eurabia", WWW 24/3/16 and "Mark Steyn reveals what's really happening in Sweden", WWW 7/3/17. Both contain videos which should be eye-openers to those who think social democracy is the answer to everything, including racial and religious strife.

The Swedes are a pretty phlegmatic, not to say dour lot, and until recently have been almost as docile as the Canadian sheeple in their acceptance of the liberal dogma that all these foreigners are good people and will be a real asset to the host country if treated properly. But lately, increasing numbers of native-born Swedes have become fed up, and are being attracted to the new(ish) Sweden Democrats, who entered the country's parliament in 2014 with 49 seats.

The mainstream parties, who have coalesced into two blocs (the Social Democrats and the Moderates) to fight the SD, claim that the Sweden Democrats are neo-Nazis, racists, Islamophobes, white supremacists, yada yada yada -- the same crap you hear from the "progressive" and antifa types about Trump Republicans.

You can imagine the consternation of the liberals and lefties, then, when pre-election polling showed the Sweden Democrats with a chance (albeit slim) of winning yesterday's election, and a real chance of finishing second, which would leave them holding the balance of power in a parliament where neither bloc commanded a majority.

Well, the results are in, and support for the SD hit a record high. They saw their share of the vote rise from 12.9% in 2014 to 17.6% in Sunday's poll -- the largest gain by any party in the Riksdag. That should translate to 63 seats, a gain of 14 from 2014. The SD leader Jimmie Akesson told his supporters, "We will gain huge influence over what happens in Sweden during the coming weeks, months and years."

Prime Minister Stefan Lofven's left-leaning Social Democratic bloc, as well as the centre-right Moderate bloc, emerged with roughly 40% each, well short of a majority. The prime minister's party lost 13 seats in parliament – their worst result in a century. That leaves the anti-SD types in an awkward position, since both have sworn not to invite the SD to join in a coalition, yet cannot agree to work together. That leaves the Sweden Democrats with the balance of power. They may yet succeed in getting Sweden back for Swedes!

VIDEO: CBC stunned by American prof's criticism of Chrystia Freeland

About three months before WWW made its debut in the blogosphere, Walt had the pleasure of meeting with the delectable Reshmi Nair, who was then a rookie bingo-caller with Canada's CTV News. Ms Nair went on to bigger and better (?) things. Having drunk multiple doses of liberal Koolaid, she is now occupies an anchor's chair at Wallyworld [Newsworld, shurely! Ed.], the CBC's answer to the Clinton News Network.

Canada's state broadcaster evidently equips its staff with powerful PC filters which protect them from seeing or hearing truths which conflict with the prevailing liberal orthodoxy. That, at any rate, is the opinion of Frank H. Buckley, Foundation Professor at the Antonin Scalia Law School, George Mason University. He joined The Rebel's Ezra Levant last week to discuss his recent appearance on the CBC where he criticized the Liberals' incompetence during the NAFTA negotiations.

That Professor Buckley should lay much of the blame for the Trudeau Liberals' failure to get a deal with the USA at the feet of the poster girl for gender equity, the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, comes as no surprise to me, since I've been saying the same things for some time now. I've also questioned the reasons for the Canadian Broadcorping Castration's love affair with the fragrant (and sometimes braless) Ms Freeland. Check out these posts:
"Questioning the CBC's love affair with Chrystia Freeland", WWW 8/10/17
"Canuck foreign minister Freeland skips 5th round of NAFTA talks", WWW 16/11/17
"MOR Canuck pundit blames Liberals for NAFTA talks impasse", 1/9/18

Today's questions:
How much longer will the Canadian people have to suffer for the naïveté and ineptitude of their Liberal government? Answer: With luck, just another 13 months.
Can it get worse? Answer: Yes. Right now no-one (in said government) thinks President Trump is going to make good his threat to scupper NAFTA. Just wait.
Could it get even worse? Answer: Again, yes. It's entirely possible that the Canadian sheeple may be gulled by the CBC and other lamestream meeja into believing that failure to get a trade deal is actually a victory for Mr Socks in that he stood up the Orange Monster from Down South, with the result that they re-elect him and the insufferable Ms Freeland.

That's enough horrible questions. Thank you for clarifying the muddification. Ed.

Darwin Award (near miss): CT mom mistakes dynamite for candle

Coincidences abound. Just two days ago, in "'Allahu akbar!' (almost?) in Toronto", I passed along the sad story of a follower of the Prophet (a Canadian resident... or maybe not) who shot himself in the foot (literally) with an assault rifle he had stuffed in his pants when he went into a restaurant to order some takeout. Not even close to a Darwin Award, but funny all the same... except for the disturbing questions that sprang to my mind as I wrote.

Today one of our acidulous readers called my attention to an incident which occurred in Bridgeport CT just last night, fully deserving of a Darwin Award Honourable Mention (Near Miss). Local officials told the meeja that, during a power outage, an unnamed mother suffered severe injuries after lighting a "quarter stick of dynamite" which she mistook for a candle.

According to Fox News, the incident occurred after a thunderstorm in the area knocked out power and the family unsuccessfully attempted to buy emergency lighting from a Home Depot. A news release from the City of Bridgeport explained that "The family remembered that when they purchased their home two years ago, there were what they thought were candles left behind in the basement by the previous residents of the home. She attempted to light one of what she thought was a candle and turned out to be a quarter stick of dynamite."

Officials said the 30-year-old woman was ultimately transported to the hospital after getting "extreme" hand injuries and "serious" face injuries. She was the only one who was hurt during the "tragic accident". The Authorities (note the capital "A") decided not to file any charges because the incident seemed to have been unintentional and the family was unaware that what they had in their home were explosive devices.

VIDEO: Tucker Carlson and Mark Steyn on "resisters"' wishful thinking

It's been some time since we shared a Mark Steyn video. Mr Steyn hasn't been very active for the last few months, but reappeared this week on Fox News "Tucker Carlson Tonight" to give a quick (and scathing) opinion on Bob Woodward's latest and worst book, and its suggestion (repeated in the treasonous op-ed piece in the New York Times) that POTUS is verging on insanity for asking when America is going to start winning some wars. [Could you please curb those run-on sentences? How do you expect me to edit that? Ed.] Here's the 4-minute clip. (Ed., that OK? Walt.)

Some dare call it treason II

Some dare call it treason!

Walt's agent in Washington -- so anonymous that he doesn't even have a number! -- reports that Jeff Bezos, owner of the WaPo, was like the fly on the rim of the toilet bowl yesterday, when he was told that the anonymous, gutless traitor inside the White House had gone to the New York Times with his/her/zer story -- and that's the right word -- of how a brave cabal in the administration was protecting America from President Trump. Walt trusts Mr Bezos feels better seeing that the NYT op-ed piece has been met with less than universal approval.

Speculation is rife as to the authorship of this amateurish, scandalos, scurrilous POS. Wouldn't it be funny if there is no patriotic anti-Trumper working his/her/zer ass off to undermining POTUS from a rathole somewhere in the West Wing? Suppose that the piece is the fabrication of a committee of "resisters" who got too deeply into the sauce in the NYT boardroom in an orgy of wishful thinking? Until a name is put on the piece, we have to regard that as a possibility.

But it's also a possibility that there is a real person, or a group of people, who are, as the article says, "working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations." Perhaps he/they are sincere, having drunk deeply of the Koolaid ladled out by the Prez, Mr and Mrs Clinton, and of course the Times itself. Even so, Walt asks, whatever happened to the concept of fidelity to the oath one takes on assuming high office? Whatever happened to loyalty? Does all that go out the window if you find yourself with a boss you don't like?

Yesterday evening POTUS tweeted a one-word comment on the article.

The lefties immediately put their fine legal minds to that tweet, and concluded that (as usual) President Trump was lying, because Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution of the United States provides two fairly narrow definitions of "treason" -- "aid and comfort" and "levying war" -- and publishing an attack in a newspaper doesn't fit either of them. But, dear "resisters", that's not what we're talking about. Here's a broader, more apt definition.

Treason: (1) the crime of betraying one's country, especially by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government.
(2) the action of betraying someone or something. Synonyms: treachery, disloyalty, betrayal, faithlessness.
That's what POTUS meant, I'm sure, and that's what I mean when I ask "Whatever happened to loyalty?" If you disagree with the person to whom your loyalty is owed, the first thing to do is confront him in person -- not anonymously -- with your concerns. If he won't respond or won't even listen -- as in the case of Pope Francis and the dubia -- you might publish your questions, but if you wish them to be taken seriously, you have an obligation to identify yourself. And finally, if no satisfactory response is forthcoming, the honourable thing to do is resign.

The phrase "none dare call it treason" first appeared in an epigram by Elizabethan writer John Harington:
Treason doth neuer prosper? What's the Reason? for if it prosper none dare call it treason.
In other words... if everyone agrees with what you say, no-one will call it treasonous. But not everyone agrees with the unsigned hatchet job which appeared in the Times. It is not "prospering". POTUS calls it treason. I call it treason. What do you call it?

"Allahu akbar!" (almost?) in Toronto

Every now and then Walt takes a quasi-sadistic delight in sharing a story about someone who kills himself/herself/zeself, or comes close, through sheer stupidity. Click on the "Darwin Awards" label and you'll find some cautionary tales. Today, Agent 3 sent in a report which caused a rheumy chuckle but didn't seem worthy of an award, since the idiot merely wounded himself. On reflection, though, there is a deeper import...

Toronto resident Abdihakim Saeed, aged 20, appeared in a local court this morning to be further dealt with according to the law on charges including possessing a loaded firearm knowing its serial number has been defaced, careless use of a firearm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and failing to remain at the scene of an accident. Here is the firearm, an A&B Arms Aero Survival sawed-off rifle.

According to Inspector Knacker of the Toronto constabulary, Mr Saeed is one and the same as the man who entered a Scarborough restaurant around 1600 on Labour Day, supposedly to place a take-out order. While inside the restaurant, the man accidentally shot himself with the gun, which he had hidden in his pants. He then left the area in a vehicle and discarded the gun, which was recovered in a wooded area near Highland Creek. While fleeing the scene, the man was allegedly involved in a fail-to-remain collision. He then abandoned the vehicle and ran into a nearby house, where he was arrested.

Not worthy of a Darwin Award, but funny, no? Errr, not really. Let us ask ourselves why someone would be carrying -- in his pants, mind you -- a weapon of a type associated with terrorism, as he went into a restaurant on a busy holiday afternoon? Did he really mean only to order some takeout food? [Like what? A shawarma? Ed.] And what about Mr Saeed's religion and ethnicity? Would we be wrong to think he may be an Arab, and a follower of the Prophet? And how about his status in Canada? Does the word "refugee" spring to mind?

Further questions spring to mind but, mindful of M-103, Walt will let you, dear reader, figure them out. Notice that I didn't mention the phrase "Allahu akbar!"? Neither did the Toronto police.

Remnant VIDEO: Cardinal Cupich goes off the deep end

This is further to Michael Matt's excellent video posted here on Sunday.

Following calls from Archbishop Carlo Viganò and others for Pope Francis to resign, Cardinal Blase Cupich, the Archbishop of Chicago, evidently felt that someone should spring to the pope's defence. Who better than himself, whose meteoric rise in the ranks is attributable chiefly to his fawning over the worst pope in four centuries.

This short (2:41) video from the good Catholics at Remnant TV looks at what just might be the most ridiculous thing any American cardinal has said in fifty years. Rather than express concern over the scandal of a credible accusation of yet another massive sexual predator coverup, His Eminence said Francis "has better things to do" and has no intention of "going down this rabbit hole." Besides, the prelate said, the only reason folks are criticizing France is... wait for it... "because Francis is a Latino." (In fact, although Pope Bergoglio was born in Argentina, he is ethnically Italian, which explains why he speaks in Italian even when visiting Eire!) Check it out.

Funerals as "acts of resistance" portend coming civil war

The usual array of anti-Trumpers -- the alt-left, antifa, Clintonites et al. -- are portraying the politicization of the funerals of Aretha Franklin and John McCain as a triumph for the "resistance" -- the sufferers from TRD who still can't get it into their heads that Donald J. Trump won the election of November 2016 ans is now the 45th president of the Excited States of America. That's the fact, ma'am, whether you voted for him or not, whether you agree with him or not, and whether you like it or not.

Walt doesn't read USA Today (the paper for those who move their lips while they read), and wasn't aware that they have a website, but one of our readers does, and passed along "Tiger Woods' comments about President Trump are surprising to no one" (28/8/18) in which the Tiger is quoted as follows: "He's the president of the United States and you have to respect the office. No matter who's in the office, you may like, dislike the personality or the politics, but we all must respect the office."

Indeed. The worrying thing is that those who think that it's not just acceptable but a "moral imperative" to oppose every single thing POTUS does, says or even thinks -- they claim to be able to read his mind -- are getting more strident by the day, encouraging all and sundry to "rise up" to protest and obstruct everything that the Trump administration does or tries to do. If the acts of protest include violence, they say, so be it. That's all the President's fault because, errr, because he's the president!

Don't listen to these idiots! Listen to Walt! Even in the irrational world of the social Democratic left, thought precedes behavior. If you do not accept the will of the people, as expressed in the election, and continue to behave as if Donald Trump lost and Hellery Clinton won, you are not only out of touch with objective reality, you are participating in the breakdown of the established American social order and are part of the countdown to the coming civil war.

Poor Len Canayen: Alexei Emelin goes home!

Ed. here. To you and me, it may be Labour/Labor Day, but to Poor Len Canayen it's less than a month to the start of the National Hockey League's 2018-19 season. The outlook for our favourite NHL team, the Montréal Canadiens, is pretty gloomy. There were no spectacular trades or pick-ups during the off-season, defensive star Shea Weber is expected to miss at least the first three months, and all depends on goalie-of-goalies Carey Price having not just a good year, but a great year. It's quite possible the Habs might miss the playoffs for the second straight year, and if management (Allo, Geoff Molson et Marc Bergevin!) has a plan for fixing things, they're keeping it a secret.

From his shack in the Great No-longer-white North, Poor Len writes:

Tank youse, Ed. One of the reasons for the Habs' disastrous performance in 2017-18 was said management's failure and/or refusal to hang onto four Russian players who were at the heart of previous years' modest success:

  • Alexandr Radulov - signed by Dallas as a free agent, for reasonable $$$ not offered by Montréal
  • Mikhail Sergachev - promising rookie traded to Tampa Bay for Jonathan Drouin, who proved, errr, not much
  • Andrei Markov - went home to Russia when he couldn't get a two-year deal at the end of a contest of wills with Bergevin, and
  • Alexei Emelin - not protected in the expansion draft, claimed by Las Vegas who promptly traded him to Nashville, where he resumed his fight with arch hotdog P.K. Subban, leading to relegation (of Emelin) to only a minor defensive role.

About 13 months ago, when the approaching iceberg could be seen clearly even from the cheap seats of le Centre Bell [Where dey? Ed.], I advised, then begged Marc Bergevin to bring back the Russians! See "Time for Habs fans to panic?", WWW 28/9/17 and "Bring back the Russians!", WWW 9/10/17.

There was no way to repatriate [??? to Canada ??? Ed.] Radulov and Sergachev, but Markov could probably have been persuaded to break his KHL contract -- anything's possible in Russia -- and Nashville might have been open to a trade for Emelin, when it became clear he wasn't going to fit in there. But would the pig-headed Bergevin listen to me? Nooooo... And so the good ship Canadien hit the ice bergevin and went down with only 71 points. See "Poor Len Canayen's wrap-up of the Habs' annus horribilis", WWW 3/3/18.

So now it's a new year. I was pleased to see Markov's team, Ak Bars Kazan, win the KHL championship. He still has one year on his contract there. And guess who's going back to Russia to play in the same league? None other than... wait for it... Alexei Emelin! He's just signed with Avangard Omsk, who announced their good fortune with an image of the fearsome defenceman in his Habs sweater.

Now listen up, Marc, because I'm only going to say this one more time. In Russia, everything and everybody has a price. Especially in places like Kazan and Omsk, which are not exactly the centres of Russia, let alone the centres of the universe. How much could it take to convince their clubs to pry loose with Markov and Emelin, both of who are in their 30s [Markov will be 40 on December 20th. Ed.] and would be happy to return to the fleshpots of la Belle Province, provided that they can get a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

Marc, I have heard you don't like Russians. But do you like winning? Do you like your job? Get on that phone, buddy. Get `em back here!!!

VIDEO: Michael Matt talks about calls for Pope Francis to resign, calls Archbishop Viganò "Instrument of Divine Intervention"

Almost every time we republish a video featuring Michael J. Matt, editor of The Remnant, I reach for a superlative to describe it, something like "best Michael Matt video ever!" That's because Mr Matt just keeps getting better and better. Perhaps he is driven to outdo himself by the increasingly parlous state of the Roman Catholic Church. In his latest offering, he is almost strident about the need for true believers to pray and fight harder than ever before to keep the modernists and apostates (yes, he calls them that) in the Vatican from succeeding in their mission of destroying Holy Mother Church to replace it with Pope Bergoglio's trendy, politically correct "church of accompaniment".

This is Michael Matt as his passionate best. Running time is over 34 minutes, but I urge you -- especially those who may think that the Church is irredeemably rotten -- to listen to every word.

VIDEOS (2): How leftie political correctness ruined "Star Wars"

Dave Sussman and Bill Whittle discuss how Hollywood has rewritten crucial scenes in Star Wars to accommodate a new politically correct, inclusive, diverse, yada yada yada view of heroes and society, and how it enrages a large swath of millennials. Mr Whittle explains the "walk away" strategy, and how it can be used to weaken the Democratic Party and win the culture war.

Don't miss Bill's riff, around the 17 minute mark, on how Star Wars is (and was intended to be) a religion for a post-Christian world.

As someone who liked the first three Star Wars movies (Parts IV, V and VI), disliked the next three and was so put off by the trailers for those that followed that I didn't even see them, I give this two thumbs up.

Footnote (Footvideo?): Did Han Solo shoot first? Ed. found Bill Whittle's earlier (2012) video in which he discusses the issue. Here it is.

Now I understand -- thanks Bill! -- why there hasn't been a movie made in the last five years that I've found worth seeing. American movies stink! Hollywood stinks! Political correctness and leftist ideology stink! A pox on the lot of them!

Another footnote: If you enjoyed listening to Bill Whittle demolish Star Wars and American cinema, you'll surely get a chuckle out of "Story Time: Bill Reads a Hillary Clinton Children's Book!" Posted in February 2016, it wasn't the only reason why Hellery lost the election, but I'm sure it helped! LMAO!

MOR Canuck pundit blames Liberals for NAFTA talks impasse

The NAFTA renegotiation between the Excited States of America and the Dominion of Canada (yes, that's its proper title) is not going well. The Canuck Minister of Global/Foreign/External Affairs (or whatever it's called today) appeared at her country's embassy in Washington yesterday to indicate through body language if not unequivocal words that things are, errr, stalled.

Andrew Coyne, a middle-of-the-road-hugging columnist for Canada's somewhat National Post, had something to say about the NAFTA talks and who's responsible for the Mexican standoff (pun intended), in "The Trudeau Liberals fall to earth...". Here's the relevant excerpt:

And then there's the Liberals' trade agenda. In one arena after another — China, the Trans Pacific Partnership, and especially the NAFTA renegotiations — the Liberals appear to have genuinely believed they could impose their own bleeding-edge social-justice agenda on that of their negotiating partners, transforming blueprints for managing international commercial relations — difficult enough at the best of times — into sweeping progressive manifestos. Each time they were rebuffed but without apparently learning any lessons in the process.

NAFTA may yet be salvaged, but if so it will not be for any of the Liberals' doing. It's probably too strong to blame the perilous state of the talks on the failings of Liberal negotiating strategy — Donald Trump is simply not a rational actor — but it's equally hard to see how they have helped, from their intransigence on issues that ought to have been bargaining chips, like supply management, to getting visibly outhustled by the Mexicans.

Footnote: Agent 3 saw video of Ms Freeland's presser on the CBC, which runs Freeland clips at every opportunity, and claims she was not wearing a bra. Walt asks, hasn't No. 3 heard of the legal maxim "De minimis non curat lex?" WTF is wrong with you, 3?!

"Allahu akbar!" in Amsterdam - 2 Americans stabbed by "refugee"

Just a small terrorist incident reported in Europe today. What makes it worthy of mention on WWW is that Dutch authorities -- for it hapopened in Amsterdam -- have actually admitted that the knife attacker who stabbed two American tourists at the main railway station on Friday morning was "motivated by extremism".

Here you see two members of de politie dealing effectively with 19-year-old Jawed S., who, according to Deutsche Welle (the German state broadcaster, who never give surnames for fear of... see above) is an Afghan citizen who holds a German residency permit. Walt suspects he was one of the many 1000s of "unaccompanied minors" who flooded into dear old Deutschland at the invitation of Angela Merkel. He is currently being held in hospital with gunshot wounds to his lower body, and is expected to be arraigned at a closed-door hearing on Monday.

Meanwhile, a spokesthingy for Amsterdam's city council has told the meeja "First statements made by the suspect indicate he had a terrorist motive." Of course they don't say what kind of terrorism -- mustn't fan the flames of Islamophobia, you know -- and we're not likely to find out on Monday, since the court hearing will be in camera, the details already revealed are surely all ye need to know.

What about the American tourists (I hear you ask). They are recovering in hospital from injuries the police say were serious but not life-threatening. American Ambassador Pete Hoekstra said, "We wish them a speedy recovery and are working closely with the City of Amsterdam to provide assistance to them and their families, so that they can return quickly to the good old US of A, where they'll be safe from marauding Muslims." [Ed., can you please check that quote. Walt]

VIDEO: Speaking the truth at Aretha Franklin's funeral

Rev. Jasper Williams Jr., pastor of Atlanta's Salem Baptist Church, was chosen to deliver the main eulogy at yesterday's funeral celebration -- word chosen with care -- for the late Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul. Rev. Williams had form, having had the same role at the 1984 funeral of Ms Franklin's father, C.L. Franklin, a noted civil rights activist. So when he chose this occasion to speak the truth about problems in the black community, there was shuffling of feet and nervous sideways glances, followed by a Twitterstorm. The usual gang of SJWs and progressive thinkers piled on Rev. Williams, calling his eulogy a "disaster" and questioning why he was chosen as the one to honour the poster girl for strong black women everywhere. "No R-E-S-P-E-C-T!", said one angry tweet.

What was it that Rev. Williams said that caused such gnashing of teeth and rending of garments on the part of America's black leaders and black lovers? Check out this compilation of key quotes from his sermon.

To my mind, the key thought is: "Black America has lost its soul." "Where is your soul, black man?", asked the fiery orator. "As I look in your house, there are no fathers in the home no more." He went on to say that "as proud, beautiful and fine as our black women are, one thing a black woman cannot do, a black woman cannot raise a black boy to be a man." And he described as "abortion after birth" the idea of children being raised without a "provider" father and a mother as the "nurturer".

Rev. Williams blamed integration and the civil rights movement for ripping the heart out of black micro-economies that once relied on black-owned small businesses such as grocery stores, hotels and banks. Then he moved on to black-on-black crime, which apologists claim is caused by poverty and the social effects of being "disadvantaged".

The preacher, in cadences familiar to anyone who's ever attended a service in a black evangelical church, declaimed, "It amazes me how it is when the police kills one of us we're ready to protest, march, destroy innocent property. We're ready to loot, steal whatever we want, but when we kill 100 of us, nobody says anything, nobody does anything. Black-on-black crime, we're all doing time, we're locked up in our mind, there's got to be a better way, we must stop this today."

But what about Black Lives Matter? "No, black lives do not matter," said Rev. Williams. "Black lives will not matter, black lives ought not matter, black lives should not matter, black lives must not matter until black people start respecting black lives and stop killing ourselves."

For his candour, Rev. Jasper Williams Jr was excoriated, immediately and savagely, on Twitter and elsewhere for "misogyny, bigotry and the perpetuation of false science on race." That's what happens when you tell the truth. The only surprising thing is that he hasn't been charged with "hate crime", but then he was speaking in the United States, where freedom speech is protected by the First Amendment, not in, say, Canada, where the liberal thought police punish those who say double plus ungood things about minorities, even if the things they say are, errr, true.
