UPDATED: Of Muslims, Islam and free speech

Four events over the last two weeks seem to be linked. I'll recap them and you can see how long it takes you to figure out the connection. [Kind of gave it away in the headline, didn't you? Ed.]

Item: Police in Albuquerque NM had their hands full, trying to figure out who was stalking and killing Muslim men. The lamestream press were quick to speculate that the murders were the work of a white supremacist, probably a Trump supporter. Fear struck the hearts of the local Islamic community, and politicians everywhere trumpeted the need for tolerance, and freedom of religion.

There were not a few red faces -- not from sunburn -- when the coppers arrested Muhammad Syed, 51, a fellow follower of the Prophet. UPDATE ADDED 16/8/22: According to Reuters, Police now believe Shaheen Syed, 21, the son of the prime suspect, may have played a role in the murders.

"We have a free country here – why did he do that?", asked another member of the supposedly tight-knit Muslim community. Turns out Mr Syed was "possibly" infuriated that his daughter married into the "wrong" branch of Islam. Apparently Shia and Sunni Muslims don't mix in America any better than they do in Iraq.

Item: Last Tuseday a Texas jury found Yaser Abdel Said, 65, of Lewisville, guilty of the murder of his daughters, 18-year-old Amina Said and 17-year-old Sarah Said, in a taxi in 2008. Mr Said had evaded arrest for over 12 years following the slayings of his children, which was provoked, defenders said, by the girls' insistence on comporting themselves like other American teens.

Even though the crime was committed in Texas, prosecutors did not pursue the death penalty, so Mr Said received an automatic life sentence. Why was the death penalty not demanded? Perhaps because the killings were, according to Mr Said's religion and culture, a "matter of honour".

No, those are not the Said girls. They are Asra Abdullah Alsehli, 24, and Amaal Abdullah Alsehli, 23, whose bodies were discovered in their Sydney, Australia, apartment on June 7th.  .

Item: The Alsehli sisters were last in the news five years ago, when they fled from a family holiday by jumping on a plane from Saudi Arabia to Sydney, where they claimed asylum, saying they renounced Islam and had become atheists. Their parents were said to be displeased and begged the girls to come home, but, so far as is known, made no attempts to repatriate them against their will.

When the rent on their apartment went unpaid for three months, the Aussie authorities went for a "welfare check" and found mail piled up outside the door. When they gained entry, they found the two women's bodies, fully clothed, in separate bedroom. There were no signs of forced entry or injury.

Police called their deaths as "suspicious" and "unusual", and are awaiting autopsy and toxicology results to figure out what could have happened. Although the sisters' background, and how they came to be in Australia, were common knowledge, Inspector Knacker said there is "nothing to suggest" their family should be considered suspects. So that's OK then.

Item: We come now to Friday's attack on author Salman Rushdie, as he was preparing to speak at the Chautauqua Institution, near Buffalo NY. Mr Rushdie suffered serious injuries to his neck, throat and liver when he was stabbed repeatedly by a Muslim now identified as Hadi Matar, 24, from Fairfield NJ.

Local police Sergeant Friday said they aren't sure what motivated the attack. Walt will explicate the muddification, and thereby come to the point of this article.

Salman Rushdie spent years in hiding after a fatwa (religious decree) issued by the Ayatollah Khomeini, for the grave sin of airing his "unacceptable views" of Islam and the Prophet Mohammed in his 1988 book The Satanic Verses.

Mr Rushdie, who was born in India to non-practising Muslims and identifies as an atheist, was declared an apostate, and forced to go underground as a bounty was put on his head. He was granted police protection by the government in the UK, where he was at school and where he made his home, following the murder or attempted murder of his translators and publishers.

Hadi Matar reportetdly supported the Iranian government, which had demanded Rushdie's execution. He reportedly posted a picture of Ayatollahs Khomeini and Khamenei on his Facebook page. According to an analysis of Mr Matar's social media footprints, he supports Shia extremism and the goals of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard. Investigators found pictures of Iranian commander Qassem Solemani, muirdered in 2020, on Mr Matar's cellphone.

Got the picture now, fellas? Can you say "Islamic extremist"? Maybe not, because the real story here is not that the victims and suspects all are (or were) believers in the Religion of Peace, but that the lickspittle media have consistently downplayed, or not reported at all, the religion and ethnicity of those involved. Mustn't stoke the fires of Islamophobia!

The liberal elites, especially the literary types, were quick to decry the attempted murder -- for that's what it was -- of Salman Rushdie as a heinous attack on the freedom of speech which we cherish and which must be protected, yada yada yada.

That's a bit rich, coming from the likes of Blackie McBlackface, Prime Minister of Canuckistan, who demonstrated his belief in free speech by clamping down on the Freeedom Convoy protesters, whom he called a "fringe minority" who held "unacceptable views"

It was his government who forced the Canadian House of Commons to pass M-103, a resolution that enjoins the sheeple of Canada from saying anything bad about any religion... but especially Islam. The Dumbocrats, especially the likes of Ilhan Omar, would like to see similar legislation passed by Congress.

Ms Omar is notorious for her anti-Israel/anti-Semitic rantings, but woe betide anyone who points out that Jews and Christians generally don't go around killing their family members or other co-religionists because of their "unacceptable views".

In our headlong rush to commit what James Burnham called The Suicide of the West (Random House, 1970), we allow followers of the Prophet to preach the triumph of Islam and the extermination of  apostates (like Salman Rushdie and the Alsehli sisters) and infidels (like us!), because to speak ill of Islam or its prophets and leaders is... wait for it... "unacceptable".

Further reading (and the point of this post): "Don't mention the Muslims!", WWW 14/10/15.

Still more reading (added 16/8/22): "Trudeau, Biden won't name actual threat to Salman Rushdie", by the estimable Rex Murphy, National Post, 16/8/22. Quote: "They ignore radical Islamists in favour of platitudes about free expression."

Another quote: "To listen to Mr. Biden or Mr. Trudeau...he was stabbed for standing up for the generalized idea of 'freedom of expression.' No, he was not. He was stabbed because a fundamentalist strand of Islam and the leaders of Iran regarded his book as a 'blasphemy' for in their words 'insulting the prophet.'"

Rex says it better, but Walt said it first!

M-103 in force! Ontario school councillor fired for questioning special rules for Muslims during Covid-19 "crisis"

As mentioned here before (click the "M-103" tag below to find previous posts) the Democratic Republic of Canuckistan has a quasi-law -- more of a "suggestion" passed by the Liberal-dominated Parliament, you see -- requiring people to say only nice things, not negative things, about members of different "faith communities". Especially Muslims... Islam being the only "faith community" specifically mentioned.

In Brampton ON, a mixed (South Asian and black) ghetto northwest of Toronto, a school councillor has lost his position after posting what has been called an "Islamophobic" tweet. Ravi Hooda, who, errr, not a Muslim, a real estate agent and a school council chair, was fired from the latter position yesterday after tweeting a reply to Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown, who announced in April that an amendment to the city's anti-noise bylaw would allow mosques to play the Muslim call to prayer on speakers five times per day during Ramadan. This is what Mr Hooda wrote:

Having the temerity to point out some of the "diversity" to which other members of the community object turned out to be a Big CLM (career-limiting move) for the unfortunate Mr Hooda. The Peel District School Board say the post was disturbing and said he will no longer be able to serve on or participate in the school council in any capacity. He has also lost his position with RE/MAX, but, as far as we know, still has his real estate licence. Should he set up his own brokerage, he will surely get lots of listings from people worried about what's happening to their `hood. In Brampton, it seems, diversity is not considered a community's strength!

Footnote and correction: Agent 2 [Where ya been, Two? Ed.] e-mailed Walt to say that the school in question is Macville Public School in Caledon ON, not Brampton, as reported by the Toronto media. Caledon is immediately north of Brampton and until lately has been a pretty white community. [You can read that with a comma, if you wish. Ed.] But the times they are a-changin'...

"Majority of blacks killed by other blacks" -- that's "offensive"?

You've seen this story, right? At left is the summary that appeared recently on the landing page of Canada's Notional Pest. The story is about Kathy Zhu, a beautiful (check out her Instagram page) 20-year-old of Chinese descent (Nota bene!) who won the Miss Michigan title recently, only to have it taken away from her over tweets which the PC police at Miss World America called "offensive" and "insensitive".

The first tweet that aroused the ire of the SJWs referred to Black Lives Matter. "Did you know the majority of black deaths are caused by other blacks?" Ms Zhu wrote on Twitter in October 2017. "Fix problems within your own community first before blaming others." Is that offensive? From here it looks like a statement of fact followed by a sensible suggestion about what needs to be done about black-on-black crime.

In February 2018, in a tweet she has since deleted, Ms Zhu criticized a World Hijab Day awareness event at the University of Central Florida, where she had been a student before transferring. "There’s a 'try a hijab on' booth at my college campus," she wrote. "So you're telling me that it's now just a fashion accessory and not a religious thing? Or are you just trying to get women used to being oppressed under Islam?"

In an interview this weekend, Ms Zhu said her tweets had been taken out of context and that she was punished for her conservative views. Not wanting to wear a hijab did not make her an Islamophobe, she added. Ms Zhu told the British Independent newspaper she believes "coming out as conservative is harder than coming out as gay in today's society... I stand by each and every one of my tweets on my account. It is honestly sad that the left refers to statistics and facts as racist and insensitive."

The real problem (for the gliberals and "progressives") is that Ms Zhu is not just on the conservative side of social issues, but that she is a supporter of President Trump. In this photo from her Instagram page, she wears the MAGA hat [Have you got yours yet? Ed.], and should probably consider herself lucky that she hasn't been assaulted by masked antifa types.

"I am very glad that I now have the opportunity to speak out about the unjust treatment of conservatives," Ms Zhu said this weekend. She also touched upon the response she's had on social media, saying it's been "mostly positive. People support that I've decided to stand my ground instead of compromise on my beliefs and values."

"But of course," she added, "the negative reactions are from those that either have not read the articles and just saw clickbait headlines or believe that statistics are racist." Indeed. She might have added, as well, that the (((controlled media))) always concentrate on what they consider "hate crime" rather than on a person's First Amendment rights to freedom of speech and... dare we say it... freedom of thought!

Footnote: Lucky for Ms Zhu she doesn't live in Canada, land of M-103. The ultra-Liberal government of Just In Trudeau is rumoured to be intent on resurrecting Section 13 of the Human Rights Act, which was used in the past to clobber free thinkers (Hello, Mark Steyn!) who dared to utter facts -- not opinions but facts -- about, errr, the "Religion of Peace". Fortunately for Canucks, they will have an opportunity in just under three months to undo the hyuge mistake they made in the fall of 2015.

VIDEO CENSORED BY YOU TUBE: When the Islamists seize power (warning from an Imam), posted by Sandra Solomon

FREEDOM OF SPEECH? WHAT'S THAT? It didn't even take the thought police at YouTube a full day to take down Sandra Solomon's video, even though all it contained was a rant by an Islamic extremist imam. I think I'll leave the window there, as mute testimony to the power of the pro-Islamist forces in our (((controlled media))).

This short (less than 2-minute) video was posted to YouTube by Sandra Solomon -- a Canuck who delights in poking the Trudeau bear -- as a warning to Canadians (and other Westerns) about what's in store for our countries if Islamic extremists game our democratic system to get their hands on the levers of power. Listen up, as Sheikh Ahmed Badran speaks of how Islam and Sharia law will be imposed on us infidels, and non-Muslims will never again be allowed to be rule over followers of the Prophet.

The videos Ms Solomon has posted on her YouTube channel, Voice of Solomon, have been condemned by the Canadian Broadcorping Castration and other agents of correct thinking for being "Islamophobic". Indeed, another YouTube video showing evidence of an imam claiming that if Mr Socks is re-elected, he will institute Sharia law, the legal code of Islam, based on the Quran, has already been "disappeared". Look out Sandra! M-103 is in force!

But the foolish Westerners who keep urging us to let the Muslims take over our countries were too late to stop the video from spreading. Before being removed from YouTube, it had over 50,000 views, and had been posted on at least three different Facebook, where it has already received nearly 200,000 likes, and has been shared more than 7000 times.

Footnote: Maxime Bernier, leader of the People's Party of Canada, will unveil his fledgling party's immigration policy on July 24th in Mississauga ON -- a city in which white, native-born Canadians are already a minority and new mosques are going up in every neighbourhood. We'll have video ASAP.

Muslim columnist accuses Canuck PM of pandering to Muslims... and Sikhs... and everybody except straight white males

Ed. here. We don't usually give this space over to a repost, in full or in part, of an opinion column written by someone else, but Agent 6 (PBUH) has sent us the link to "Dividing Canada into vote banks, one tribe at a time", by Tarek Fatah (a Muslim), in the Toronto Sun, 25/6/19. Agent 6 says Mr Fatah "accurately describes Canada’s immigration/political problems...calls a spade a spade." So he does. This piece is so good that we're going to run most of it (edited slightly for brevity), and hope that Mr Fatah and his employers will take it as a compliment and not ask for a royalty. Hey, Walt doesn't make any money on this!

The slow and steady ghettoization of Canada's urban political scene is gathering pace. Ethnicity, religion and tribalism is being promoted as a tool in the upcoming October elections, instead of debating competing visions about Canada’s future. Political commentators in the media, academics in universities and vote-hungry politicians may have become numb or blind to what is unfolding, but the rest of the world and most immigrants like me are watching our democracy being used to promote religious hatred, ethnic division and extremism overseas.

On Monday, a leader of India’s opposition Congress Party, Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh lambasted the Trudeau Liberal government over "its overt and covert support to the Khalistani movement." In a statement issued in New Delhi, Singh said, "It was more than apparent that Canada had been extending its support to Khalistanis despite New Delhi’s protestations."

To gain insight into what Amarinder Singh is talking about, one needs to take a peep into the city of Brampton just northwest of Toronto, which is a microcosm of all that ails urban Canada and how the federal Liberal Party plays a role in unwittingly inflaming racial and religious minority community divisions. All five Liberal Party candidates in that city are Sikhs, the party effectively shutting its door to the myriad of other citizens who just want to be Canadian and are not bound by religious ties to a Temple, Church or Mosque. This has led to Brampton's Hindu community throwing their weight behind the opposition Conservatives.

Elsewhere on June 21 in Toronto, many prominent Liberals appeared alongside a group called 'Canadian Muslim Vote', where Justin Trudeau himself implied opposition Conservatives were Islamophobic and racist, sending the partisan Liberal Party Muslim tribe into a thunderous applause. Notwithstanding Minister Maryam Monsef's shout-out at the event that "Muslims are rocking it in Canada," Trudeau's remarks were disgraceful as was the conduct of his Muslim vote bank who gave their handsome leader a thunderous standing ovation.

Canadian Muslim Vote? What next? Imagine a Canadian Jew Vote? How about a Canadian Catholic or Buddhist Vote? Why not Hindus as well? Shouldn’t they too rally their troops and get prepared for a medieval showdown with Muslims in our cities to rival the horror of the 1947 Partition? Now the head of the Quebec Council of Imams Hassan Guillet has also joined the Liberal bandwagon from the Montreal riding of Saint-Léonard–Saint-Michel. He told Postmedia "the Muslim community is as big as the Italian community. The demographic changed enormously."

Footnote from Walt: In case you think Tarek Fatah is making this up or simply afraid of Muslims, check out "Don’t underestimate the political power of Canada’s Muslim community", by Seher Shafiq [What part of Ireland is he from? Ed.] in the Toronto Red Star, 25/6/19, the same day that Mr Fatah's column appeared.

Another footnote from Walt: Also on June 25th Mr Socks' government unveiled its shiny new "Anti-Racism Strategy", as recommended by M-103, a motion proposed MP Iqra Khalid, who is both female and... wait for it... Muslim. M-103 was just a recommendation. Now comes the law, including a definition of Islamophobia as "includ(ing) racism, stereotypes, prejudice, fear or acts of hostility directed towards individual Muslims or followers of Islam in general. In addition to individual acts of intolerance and racial profiling, Islamophobia can lead to viewing and treating Muslims as a greater security threat on an institutional, systemic and societal level." Hmm.

VIDEOS: Canuck security minister won't acknowledge Sunni, Shia or Sikh extremism/terror threats

Poor ole Ralph Goodale. The Canuck Minister of Public Safety (kind of like "Homeland Security" in the Paranoid States of America") has been a member of Liberal governments for donkey's years, and always seems to get stuck with the task of explaining and apologizing for the nonsensical policies and actions of the fuzzy-minded one-worlders whom stupid Canucks elected in 2015.

When you don't want to put a Sikh (Hon. Harjit Sajjan -- see yesterday's post) or a Muslim (Hon. Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Refugees) in front of the cameras, it's time to pin the tail on Ralph. Check out his grovelling, mealy-mouthed performance yesterday, in which he defended the removal of three "S-words" from a terror assessment report that is supposed to update Canadians on the major terrorist threats they face.

Since Hon. Ralph didn't actually name names (M-103!), Walt can reveal that the words excised from the report were "Sikh", "Sunni" and "Shia". Here's how the report looked before the PC police got to it.

While the report, first released in December, had initially identified attackers "inspired by violent Sunni Islamist ideology" as the main terrorist threat to Canada, that line has now been cut. All mentions of "Sunni" and "Shia" extremism were also taken out of the annual report, along with section headings on both types of terrorism. The government had already cut the term "Sikh extremism" from the report following complaints from unidentified quarters. A section heading on violence linked to the fight for an independent Sikh homeland (= Khalistan) is now gone. But see "Sikh soldiers from Canada ready to liberate Punjab?", WWW 1/5/19.

The change was announced on Twitter and Facebook by Liberal Member of Parliament Ruby Sahota, who happens to be a Sikh [Really? Ed.] who represents Brampton North, an Ontario riding where Sikhs are the very visible majority. Ms Sahota wrote that she had worked with Hon. Ralph to "remove language... The report no longer contains the terms 'Sikh', 'Shia', and 'Sunni'. Words matter. Our agencies and departments must never equate any one community or entire religions with extremism." M-103!

Ms Sahota's treatment of M-103 as law rather than just an expression of the intent of Parliament is not helpful, according to a former staffer at Public Safety Canada, which produced the threat report. Phil Gurski, a former Canadian Security Intelligence Service analyst, likened the Liberal government's repeated second-guessing of the report to a comedy routine. "To my mind this is just political correctness and electioneering gone mad." Last night he tweeted, "Who is running the show at @Safety_Canada ?? The 2018 terrorist threat report keeps getting changed to appease lobby groups. Soon there will be no terrorist threat to Canada left."

Mr Gurski's opinion is not unanimous. There are lots of patriotic Canadians who agree with Ms Sahota. Here's an earlier video from Global News that presents correct thinking, as interpreted by Canada's lamestream politicians and media. [Why does Trudeau pronounce "Sikh" that way? Ed.] M-103 rules!

Sri Lanka: Suspicions confirmed; Islamic terrorists kill nearly 300

No cries of "Allahu akbar!" were actually heard -- drowned out by the noise of the explosions perhaps -- but the government of Sri Lanka has now confirmed that yesterday's attacks on Christian churches and luxury hotels were carried out by a local militant group named National Thowfeek Jama'ath, with the help of an international network.

Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne told a news conference this morning that all the bombers were citizens of Sri Lanka. He added that the government was investigating whether the group had international support. "We do not believe these attacks were carried out by a group of people who were confined to this country. There was an international network without which these attacks could not have succeeded."

What kind of an "international network"? Mr Senaratne did not go into details, but as Walt told you yesterday -- something you won't read in the lamestream media -- senior police officials have identified National Thowfeek Jama'ath as a group of Islamic terrorists. The "international network" could therefore refer to al-Qaeda, ISIS, al-Shabaab or the Taliban... any of them of all of the fanatical jihadis hell-bent (I mean that literally) on exterminating "infidels" such as those shown in this photo, taken some years ago, of some Lankan Catholics and your obedient servant.

Earlier today, a Lankan government forensic crime investigator said an examination of the Islamist attackers' body parts showed that they were suicide bombers. That detail really fascinates me. What body parts, I wonder? Did they have "Allahu akbar!" tattooed on some appendage?

This morning a "controlled explosion" occurred in a van near one of the attacked churches, when bomb squad officials were trying to defuse a bomb found near the departure gate of the Colombo airport. Elsewhere, 87 detonators were found at a Colombo bus station. And on Sunday afternoon, security forces raided a house in Colombo only to lose three officers killed in another explosion. 24 "locals" have now been arrested. That's less than 1/10th of the number killed in the bombings, which has now risen to 290, with over 500 reported injured.

Further reading:
"Horrifying moment car bomb blows up outside Sri Lankan church after police attempted to defuse it the day after Islamist terror attacks killed 290 people", Daily Mail (UK) 22/4/19.

And more:
"The Sri Lanka Jihad Massacre and the Decline of the West: How many times is the charade of denial going to play out?", by Robert Spencer on the FrontPageMag site, 22/4/19. Mr Spencer quotes an Indian media source as identifying three of the jihadis by name: Zahran Hashim, Abu Mohammad and Mohamed Azzam Mohamed. Why, he asks, can't Western leaders like the UK's Theresa May and Canada's Just In Trudeau bring themselves to utter the words "Muslim" or "Islamist", when the evidence is there. Walt's answer: Political correctness still rules the West! M-103!

Guest editorial: Embrace liberty, get rid of the hijab!

Walt likes to make readers aware of important dates and events -- things you should know so that you can make the proper adjustments to your view of the world. In particular, you must think some more about the Religion of Peace (TM) and how our society should embrace it, and all followers of the Prophet Mohammed, including (without limiting the generality of the foregoing) ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Boko Haram, and the Taliban. M-103.

You will hear more about being nice to Muslims on February 1st, which the powers that be (you know who they are) have decreed to be World Hijab Day. Seriously. Not making this up. The good folks at Dr. Rich Swier's blog have submitted an editorial which Walt is pleased to post below.

The mission of World Hijab Day (February 1st) is to allegedly make non-Muslims aware of the societal response to Muslim women who wear a hijab. Perhaps Muslim women feel uncomfortable wearing the hijab in public because they know that millions of Americans see the hijab as exemplifying one of many harsh tenets of Sharia law that oppress women.

The hijab has replaced the pink triangle as the progressive left’s top symbol of diversity. However, tens of millions of Americans including thousands of Muslim women view the hijab as a symbol of Islamist, misogynistic repression. Nearly sixty percent of Muslims in America do not wear the hijab according to Pew Research published by NPR on April 21, 2011.

Some scholars of Islam teach that the Quran does not mandate the hijab. The hijab was invented and mandated by Mussah Sadr, an Iranian mullah, in the 1970s, 1300 years after the Quran was written. Sadr issued a Sharia edict that required women to wear the hijab to allegedly prevent their rape. Women In The World media published an article on September 15, 2015 titled “The day 100,000 Iranian women protested the head scarf.” The article displayed a seldom-seen collection of photographs, shot in Tehran in 1979, of thousands of women who are not wearing hijabs or other oppressive attire prior to Sadr enforcing Iran’s new Islamist hijab law.

British Muslim Qanta Ahmed wrote on March 18, 2017 in The Spectator UK: “As a Muslim, I strongly support the right to ban the veil. At last, the European Court of Justice has made a stand for European values. Rigid interpretations of the veil are a recent invention. They’re derived not from the Quran or early Islamic tradition but from a misogyny which claims a false basis in the divine.”

The same Sharia law that dictates women must wear the hijab also advocates harsh discipline (abuse) of wives, genital mutilation of girls and honor killing of allegedly dishonorable females. Hopefully, Muslim women will embrace the fullness of the liberty that is extended to them by the United States Constitution by doffing the oppressive hijab as most other Muslim women have done in America as well as take a stand against the harsh Sharia tenets that oppress them.

VIDEO: How the CBC transforms Trudeau's Syrian "refugees"

Following up yesterday's report on the arrest of two young men in Kingston ON on suspicion of plotting a terrorist act, specifically a bombing...

1. Only one of the young men, a yoof who cannot be identified in any way under Canada's liberal Youth Justice Act, was actually charged. The other, a 20-year-old named Hussam Eddin Alzahabi [not Mohammed? Ed.], has been released.

2. Mr Alzahabi and the unidentified yoof were both "refugees" who came to Canada in fulfillment of Canuck Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's campaign promise to bring 50,000 downtrodden Muslim "refugees" to Canada where they would become loyal and productive citizens, yada yada yada. Don't believe what the CBC -- the Canadian government's truly owned broadcaster -- tells you. Listen to me! And if you don't believe me, listen to Ezra Levant as he unpacks the CBC's furious walking back of the embarrassing "refugee" part of the story.

If you missed the tragic story Mr Levant refers to -- how one of Mr Socks' "refugees" murdered BC teen Marrisa Shen -- you'll find the details here (WWW 10/9/18).

And remember, all you frostbacks out there... M-103!

"Allahu akbar!" in Canada - cops arrest Syrian "refugees" in bomb plot

Cries of "Allahu akbar!" were not heard in Kington ON, because the Mounties, "assisted by the FBI", nipped in the bud a plot by followers of the Prophet Mohammed to "deliver, place, discharge or detonate an explosive or other lethal device...against a place of public use with the intent to cause death or serious bodily injury." That's one of the charges laid today against a "young person" who cannot be named or otherwise identified under the provisions of Canada's ultra-lax Youth Justice Act.

Police also charged the "young person" with knowingly facilitating a terrorist activity. Along with the lad (or ladette), Inspector Knacker also arrested an adult male whom CBC News, disregarding M-103, identifies as... wait for it... Hussam Eddin Alzahabi, a friend of the "young person".

Mr Alzahabi also happens to be a "refugee" whose family, originally from Syria, came to Canada in 2017, during Canuck Prime Minister Just In Trudeau's frantic campaign to bring more than 50,000 Syrian refugees to Canada through government and private sponsorships. (The Alzahabi family had actually been in Kuwait for 10 years, but that's not important.)

According to a bulletin posted to the website of a Kingston-area Catholic church detailing the journey of the Alzahabi family, the family's sponsorship application was approved in the spring of 2016, but the family was still awaiting its final security and health checks that fall due to the "overwhelming number of applicants." It appears that those checks may, errr, never have been completed.

Mr Alzahabi's father, Amin, told the meeja today that his son had been arrested but not charged. "I want to know where he is," the father said at his Kingston home. Professing astonishment at the arrest of his son, he went on to tell a CBC News interviewer, "They tell me they search about him about terrorists. I know my son, he didn't think about that. He like Canada. He like the safety in Canada. How could he think about that? It's fake news about my son. I trust my son. I know he cannot do anything against any human, humanity. They inspected everything from my house. They didn't find anything. I think this is not good."

"Not good" indeed! Looks bad at a time when immigration and border security are emerging as the ballot questions for this fall's general election. And don't think the Prime Minister's Office hasn't noticed. Speaking at a "town hall" meeting in Miramachi NB yesterday, Mr Socks warned voters to "be wary of fear-mongering about immigration". A young Syrian "refugee" then thanked him for allowing her family to come to Canada. Any suggestion that the PM was informed in advance of the pending arrest and that the Miramichi event was a lame attempt to get in front of the anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim backlash is of course nonsense, and deserving of prosecution. M-103!

Meanwhile, the Gliberal propaganda machine, in concert with the CBC and Canada's tame media [$650 million does a lot of taming! Ed.] are already working hard on damage control. At a presser this afternoon, Inspector Knacker of the RCMP said the investigation is still ongoing, and refused to comment on the ideological motivations of the people apprehended or say if they had any ties to foreign elements.

Elsewhere, Islamic community groups, mental health workers and police officers are meeting even as we speak to "calm fears and discuss ways to prevent an anti-Muslim, anti-immigrant backlash". See? Those are the CBC's words, not just Walt's! Bronek Korczynski, who led the Alzahabi family's sponsorship through Our Lady of Lourdes church, said the community groups that met today will attempt to head off rumours and spread the message that the alleged offences have nothing to do with Islam. Yeah. Right.

Majority of Québécois want crucifix displayed in National Assembly, religious headgear banned in public sector

During September's provincial election campaign, the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) vowed, if elected, to end once and for all the pandering to minorities that kept both the Liberals and the Parti Québécois from passing lawas to prohibit the display in public places of religious objects, including religious clothing, such as the Jewish kippah, Sikh turban and Muslim burqa/niqab/hijab. Banning such things was, they said, the will of the majority of Québécois, and sure enough, the people of la belle province gave the CAQ a strong mandate.

Ever since, the usual NPCs, SJWs and liberal chattering classes -- not your typical francophone Québeckers, but English speakers -- have been pissing and moaning about "minority rights", Islamophobia, and (of course) racism. Such discriminatory legislation, they whine, is not in keeping with real Québec values, and the election result didn't really reflect the will of the people.

The lamestream meeja and others hired a couple of pollsters to give Québeckers another chance to come up with the politically correct answers to a couple of decades-old questions:
Do you support a ban on the wearing of religious symbols by public-sector workers? and
Should the crucifix be removed from its place of honour above the Speaker's throne in the Assemblée Nationale?
You'll never guess how the real people responded...

Or maybe you will. A CROP poll taken from the 14th to 19th of November estimated that 72% of Québécois supported banning visible religious symbols for judges, 71% supported banning them for prosecutors and police officers, and 65% backed extending the ban to public-school teachers. CROP also found widespread support (55%) for leaving the crucifix in its place in the National Assembly; only 28% wanted to see it removed.

CROP's president told Radio-Canada (the French-language state broadcaster) that the results indicated unprecedentedly high levels of support for banning religious symbols. "I think we can conclude that the average Quebecer really wants to remove religion from the public sphere," he said, "especially for people who hold positions of authority.... The numbers are high but they are the product of a public discussion that has lasted since Bouchard-Taylor," he said, referring to the public commission into reasonable accommodation that wrapped up in 2008.

In the month after the October 1st election, Vox Pop, which polls for the CBC and Radio-Canada, surveyed 4000 people about identity issues. Respondents were shown images of various types of religious clothing and symbols and asked to choose different situations where they should be banned. The results suggested no less than 87% (!) in favour of preventing police officers and judges from wearing the burqa. If you're not sure what that is, check out "Hijab, niqab, burqa -- what's the difference?", WWW 28/7/10.

The number in favour of a ban dropped to only 65% for the turban and kippa. The Vox Pop findings also suggested Québeckers are divided about what religious symbols teachers should be allowed to wear in the classroom. The kippah was opposed by 49%, the turban by 51%, the hijab by 52% a large cross by 53%. Vox Pop summarized its findings by noting that a majority of survey participants -- 55% -- backed the Bouchard-Taylor consensus referred to above.

Tomorrow, the National Assembly begins its first session. The CAQ government has indicated that introducing a bill to replace the previous government's Bill 62 (which was never enforced) would not be its first order of business, but that it would tackle the issue early in the new year, confident that it is doing the will of the people of Québec.

Footnote: The burqa and other Islamic attire has already been banned in the Netherlands, Denmark and even Muslim-majority Morocco. The Québec government is behind the curve of public opinion on this one, but not so much as the government of Canada, which refuses to discuss the issue, let alone admit that the majority of Canadians would support such legislation. ISIS AGAIN claims responsibility for Toronto mass shooting

Way back in July -- how quickly we forget -- a lone gunman opened fire into a crowd into a crowd of restaurant-goers on Danforth Avenue, in Toronto's famous Greektown, killing two innocent people and wounding 15 before turning the gun on himself. No shouts of "Allahu akbar!" were heard, and the identity of the killer was suppressed by the police and lamestream media. Walt was one of many who speculated that Faisal Hussain -- for that was his name -- was an Islamic extremist. See "Non-gangsta gunman shoots 14 in Toronto", WWW 23/7/18.

The official politically correct government line, right from the get-go, was that Mr Hussain was mentally ill. That he happened to be an Afghan "newcomer" and a follower of the prophet was just a coincidence. Within hours, hours of the release of the accused's name, a professionally-written statement, in proper English, was sent out "on behalf of the Hussain family", explaining that "our son had severe mental health challenges, struggling with psychosis and depression his entire life."

The statement was written by Mohammed [What else? Ed.] Hashim, a full-time organizer for the Toronto & York Region Labour Council. Social media accounts belonging to Mr Hashim show him heavily involved in supporting NDP (= "social democratic") candidates both federally and provincially in Ontario. He's also described as a driving force behind the National Council of Canadian Muslims. See "Meet the spin doctor behind the Hussain family statement", by Anthony Furey, in the Toronto Sun, 25/7/18.

Walt's bullshit meter went right off the scale on that one, the more so when, on the very same day, ISIS/ISIL claimed responsibility for the vicious attack. See "'Allahu akbar!' ISIS claims responsibility for Greektown shooting", WWW 25/7/18. One of Canada's "independent" broadcasters (but not the state-owned Canadian Broadcorping Castration) passing on a quote from the Islamic terrorists' AMAQ news agency, which referred to Mr Hussain as "a soldier of the Islamic State" who "carried out the attack in response to calls to target the citizens of the coalition countries."

Although one must always take claims from ISIS/ISIL cum grano salis, Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders put extra lipstick on the pig, saying his force's investigation had uncovered "no evidence to support these claims." The government called in the usual gang of "terrorism experts" to warn against accepting the ISIL claim at face value. "We'll look into it further, but don't expect a conclusion other than that Hussain was such a wild and crazy guy. Nothing to see here, folks."

Ah yes... we're looking into it... the default response of "the authorities" to anything that doesn't accord with the liberal line that Islam is a religion of peace, there's no jihad going on, and "diversity is our strength" (gaggg). Indeed, the investigation is still "active and ongoing", according to an affidavit filed by the Toronto police in response to an application in Ontario's Superior Court by several news outlets to smash the cone of silence and unseal details of the search warrants in the case. The cops are fighting to prevent the release of the information "to ensure the integrity of the investigation is maintained." Oh, hahahahahaha...

Meanwhile, this past Sunday, a propaganda video released by pro-Islamic State media named July's atrocity as IS's "most successful foreign operation of the year." The video by the Al-Abd Al-Faqir Media Foundation mimics a corporate year-end review of operations. Called "Harvest of the Lone Lions", it features excerpts from the most recent speech by Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS/ISIL, in which he praises attackers in the West, according to a translation by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

The information on the Toronto attack includes imagery taken from mainstream media after the shooting, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau speaking to the media. The rating and casualty information is superimposed over an animated scene of a tattered Canadian flag in a burning urban landscape.

As noted above, this is not the first such claim by IS. Nor is it the second. This is the third claim connecting the deadly attack to ISIS/ISIL, but still the Canuck authorities say they have no evidence from ISIL or its media affiliates that the gunman acted on behalf of any organizations. Requests from the Canuck meeja for comment on this latest claim have so far not been answered. M-103.

Syrian refugee charged with murder of 13-year-old BC girl

This is... or was... Marrisa Shen, a girl from Burnaby BC who didn't live to see her 14th birthday.

She was last seen leaving her apartment building around 1800 on 18 July 2017. Surveillance footage later showed the teenager entering a nearby Tim Hortons minutes after she left her apartment across from the city's Central Park. She stayed there for an hour and a half. Her family reported her missing to police at 2330, and her body was found in the brush in the southeast corner of the park a little more than an hour later. Police have not revealed how she was killed, nor if she was sexually assaulted.

Last Friday, Ibrahim Ali, 28, of Burnaby was charged with the first-degree murder of the young girl. The sum total of what the police and the lamestream media are saying about the accused is that he is "a Syrian national and permanent Canadian resident" who arrived in Canada "17 months ago". By my calendar, that would be around Valentine's Day of 2017, or about four months before Marrisa was killed. He was arrested in Burnaby on Sept. 7.

Disregarding M-103, Walt has some innocent questions: What is Mr Ali's religion? Is he by any chance a follower of the Prophet? Is he one of the 50,000 Syrian refugees that the arch-virtue-signaller Justin Trudeau, brought to Canada in a fit of misguided humanitarianism? If not, how did he get to be a permanent resident so quickly? What was Mr Ali's employment status at the time of his arrest? Was he working, or sponging off Canadian taxpayers like so many of the other 49,999?

A prize will be given for the first reader to spot the word "refugee" in any version of this story appearing in the Canadian media. Send a .pdf file or screenshot to Ed. at the usual address. Earliest time stamp wins.

UPDATE ADDED 1800: The contest announced above is over. Our very own Ed. hunted up the Vancouver Sun and found "Ibrahim Ali, 28, charged with first-degree murder of Burnaby teen Marrisa Shen", which includes this paragraph: Ali is a Syrian national and a permanent resident who came to Canada 17 months ago, Richardson said. She did not know whether he was a privately-sponsored or government-assisted refugee, but believed he does have family in Burnaby and is employed. As if there was any doubt about the "refugee" part.... The last two words came as a surprise though.

FURTHER VIEWING, added 11/9/18: Here's the report (with full credit to the Vancouver Sun) by Sheila Gunn Reid of The Rebel.Media.

"Allahu akbar!" (almost?) in Toronto

Every now and then Walt takes a quasi-sadistic delight in sharing a story about someone who kills himself/herself/zeself, or comes close, through sheer stupidity. Click on the "Darwin Awards" label and you'll find some cautionary tales. Today, Agent 3 sent in a report which caused a rheumy chuckle but didn't seem worthy of an award, since the idiot merely wounded himself. On reflection, though, there is a deeper import...

Toronto resident Abdihakim Saeed, aged 20, appeared in a local court this morning to be further dealt with according to the law on charges including possessing a loaded firearm knowing its serial number has been defaced, careless use of a firearm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and failing to remain at the scene of an accident. Here is the firearm, an A&B Arms Aero Survival sawed-off rifle.

According to Inspector Knacker of the Toronto constabulary, Mr Saeed is one and the same as the man who entered a Scarborough restaurant around 1600 on Labour Day, supposedly to place a take-out order. While inside the restaurant, the man accidentally shot himself with the gun, which he had hidden in his pants. He then left the area in a vehicle and discarded the gun, which was recovered in a wooded area near Highland Creek. While fleeing the scene, the man was allegedly involved in a fail-to-remain collision. He then abandoned the vehicle and ran into a nearby house, where he was arrested.

Not worthy of a Darwin Award, but funny, no? Errr, not really. Let us ask ourselves why someone would be carrying -- in his pants, mind you -- a weapon of a type associated with terrorism, as he went into a restaurant on a busy holiday afternoon? Did he really mean only to order some takeout food? [Like what? A shawarma? Ed.] And what about Mr Saeed's religion and ethnicity? Would we be wrong to think he may be an Arab, and a follower of the Prophet? And how about his status in Canada? Does the word "refugee" spring to mind?

Further questions spring to mind but, mindful of M-103, Walt will let you, dear reader, figure them out. Notice that I didn't mention the phrase "Allahu akbar!"? Neither did the Toronto police.

Is diversity really good for us? An American professor's view

Maxime Bernier, a Conservative member of the Canadian Parliament, made this week's news bigtime by posting a series of six tweets in which he dared to suggest that the "diversity" preached incessantly by Canuck PM Just In Trudeau has gone far enough, even too far. Canada is diverse enough, said M Bernier, and more diversity will destroy what was a great country. "The Great White North"... no more.

That M Bernier dared to say what hundreds of thousands of Canadians are thinking has led to his being pilloried in the lamestream media, particularly the state-owned Canadian Broadcorping Castration. Just today they are seeking to connect him to the cutting down of a sign in a Winterpeg park which, for some bizarre reason, was renamed to honour the Pakistani leader Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who insisted on the partition of India, at the end of the British Raj, into separate Hindu and Muslim states, which resulted in a bloodbath in which millions were killed.

But I digress. Here are a couple of excerpts from the now-famous Bernier tweets.
Having people live among us who reject basic Western values such as freedom, equality, tolerance and openness doesn’t make us strong. People who refuse to integrate into our society and want to live apart in their ghetto don’t make our society strong....
Trudeau's extreme multiculturalism and cult of diversity will divide us into little tribes that have less and less in common, apart from their dependence on government....
More diversity will not be our strength, it will destroy what has made us such a great country.
Click here to read all six tweets, in their entirety.

Such views are not often aired in Canada, especially since the Liberal-majority House of Commons adopted bill M-103, which is a thinly veiled warning to anyone thinking of challenging the progressive narrative. Political incorrectness will be punished! In the USA, however the First Amendment to the Constitution still protects freedom of speech, although sometimes you really have to fight for it.

One person who has had the courage to challenge the prevailing orthodoxy is Edward J. Erler, Professor Emeritus of political science at California State University, San Bernardino, and co-author of The Founders on Citizenship and Immigration: Principles and Challenges in America. On 11 April 2018, Prof. Erler delivered a speech to a Hillsdale College National Leadership Seminar in Colorado Springs. In it, he raised points very similar to those raised three months later by Maxime Bernier. Like these...

Our progressive politicians and opinion leaders proclaim their commitment to diversity almost daily, chanting the same refrain: "Diversity is our strength." This is the gospel according to political correctness. But how does diversity strengthen us? Is it a force for unity and cohesiveness? Or is it a source of division and contention?

Does it promote the common good and the friendship that rests at the heart of citizenship? Or does it promote racial and ethnic division and something resembling the tribalism that prevents most of the world from making constitutional government a success? When is the last time we heard anyone in Washington talk about the common good? We are used to hearing talk about the various stakeholders and group interests, but not much about what the nation has in common.

This should not be surprising. Greater diversity means inevitably that we have less in common, and the more we encourage diversity the less we honor the common good. Any honest and clear-sighted observer should be able to see that diversity is a solvent that dissolves the unity and cohesiveness of a nation -- and we should not be deceived into believing that its proponents do not understand the full impact of their advocacy!

The emphasis is mine. For the full text (adapted for print) click here to read "Does Diversity Really Unite Us? Citizenship and Immigration", in Imprimis, July-August 2018.

Footnote: While researching this piece, Ed. stumbled (aided by Ma Nifkins' jellied gin, perhaps) on a truly ridiculous "Table of Diversity", devised by "diversity leaders" to help in "hiring, retaining, and developing diverse talent". Click on the link to evaluate how the intersectionality of your diversity qualifies you for a highly-paid position in the human rights industry... or welfare.... As long as you're not a straight, white, born-in-the-USA male, the choice is yours!

By the company they keep shall ye know them

Canada's Liberal Party, which presently forms the federal government (but just till October 2019!) and ruled the province of Ontario for 15 years until a fed-up public turfed them out in June, has often been accused of cozying up to Muslims. Putting the welcome mat out for Muslim refugees, M-103 (which prohibits saying anything bad about Islam), a Somali-born Muslim as Minister for Refugees -- it's all part of the irreversible browning of Canada. Not to mention Isalmization [M-103! Ed.] and adding 1000s of Mohammeds to the Liberal voter base.

Every once in a while a story emerges to prove that what the liberal progressives claim is a nutty conspiracy theory is actually true. Here's an interesting photo, taken in 2013, showing John Fraser (second from left), a member of the Ontario legislature and now leader of the Liberal Party in that province, and David McGuinty (second from right), a Liberal member of the federal parliament (and brother of the second-last Liberal premier of Ontario) at the Assalam mosque in Ottawa, the capital of Canuckistan.

The Assalam mosque is notable for having just been stripped of its status as a charity by the Canada Revenue Agency (the Canadian version of the IRS). Why? Well... errr... because of "activities that promote hate and intolerance". ☪ Hate and intolerance. In a temple of the Religion of Peace™. Can you imagine ?!?!™

Losing its charitable status means the mosque no longer benefits from the tax advantages enjoyed by government-registered charities. Even better, it can't collect money to support Islamic terrorism and allow donors to claim their contributions as income tax deductions.

The CRA took the action against the Ottawa Islamic Centre and Assalam Mosque following audits that raised concerns about the Islamic extremists who appeared there as guest speakers. In a letter to the mosque's executive, a CRA bureaucrat wrote, "Many of the views expressed by the organization's speakers are misogynistic, homophobic, racist and/or promote violence." Again... imagine that!

The CRA also expressed concern that "radicalized individuals" had attended the mosque. One such jihadi-wannabe, Ashton Larmond, is now doing time in the federal rock hockey arena for attempting to join ISIS.

Canada's Global News published documents detailing the results of the CRA audits. The agency admitted being unable to determine exactly what the various speakers said while rousing the rabble at the mosque, but found views publicly expressed elsewhere by a number of the speakers and found them to be at odds with the "public benefit| required of charities under Canadian tax law.

The documents singled out Abu Usamah At-thahabi, Bilal Philips, Hakkeem Quick and Saed Rageah, all of whom had spoken at the Assalam mosque one or more times. According to the CRA, Mr At-thahabi has called women "deficient", said Christians and Jews were enemies (no surprise there), spoke about throwing homosexuals off a mountain, and said apostates -- people who leave the Islamic faith -- should be killed.

Mr Philips has been denied entry to several countries (but not Canada, thanks to the Liberal open border policy) and has been described as "anti-Semitic, intolerant and 'contrary to integration'", whatever that means. In a video described in the CRA documents, he said Islam was opposed to terrorism but "does not shrink from using violence to gain some of its ends, to establish itself in certain areas/to gain control of Muslim lands."

Mr Quick had "advocated for the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem to be liberated from the filth of the Jews" and was condemned by the New Zealand Broadcasting Authority in 2004 for what was termed "hate speech" towards homosexuals, the CRA said. Mr Rageah runs a Toronto Islamic centre. The CRA quoted an Australian newspaper report that said he had been denied entry to the country and "displayed anti-Western and homophobic attitudes."

According to the documents, the CRA also has concerns with regard to Mr. Rageahès relationship with the Al-Magrib Institute, and his role as founder and leader of the Journey of Faith conference, which has afforded individuals known for their extremist opinions an opportunity to address thousands of gatherers in Toronto.

Walt is shocked, shocked, not by the list of provocations and offences committed by these apostles of militant Islam, but by the fact that the Assalam Mosque and Ottawa Islamic Centre are actually being punished (albeit mildly) for hosting them. You'd think with Liberal friends like Messrs Fraser and McGuinty they'd be able to preach hatred with impunity.

Toronto Greektown shooter ID'd, Walt's suspicions confirmed!

As reported on WWW this morning, Toronto Mayor John Tory warned the public not to jump to any conclusions regarding the identity or motive of the olive-skinned, bearded man who shot 16 people in the city's Greektown district last night. Walt jumped anyway and, in defiance of M-103, had the temerity to suggest that the perp might be a follower of Mohammed, and the shooting an act of Islamic terrorism.

The politicians, police and (((controlled media))) (Hello, CBC!) knew immediately the identity, ethnicity, religion and citizenship status of the killer, but managed to keep a lid on it until 1730 EDT, when they finally caved in to public pressure and named him as 29-year-old Faisal Hussain (no relation to you-know-who of the Somali-Canadian Minister of Refugees &c), who lived with his parents in the Thorncliffe Park district of Toronto. That area is home to 1000s of "refugees" from Somalia, Pakistan and other shitholes, but nothing has been said yet about how Mr Hussain came to Canuckistan or his status in the alleged country.

Nor has anything been said, as yet, about Mr Hussain's motive. His family came from Pakistan, a hotbed of militant Islamic terror. He was a follower of the Prophet, of course, so don't be suprised if he was acting as a jihadi, a good soldier of ISIS. Don't be surprised, also, when the lamestream media starts making excuses, as portrayed here.

The official line was revealed within minutes of the police identification of the killer, with the release of a statement, in perfect English, from the boy's parents, who said that he had been suffering for a long time with mental health issues. And so on. Nothing to do with Islam or ISIS or anything like that. Everyone knows there's no danger from Islamic terrorists, eh. Not in good old Canada, which welcomes all those fleeing oppression, particularly those who are barred from entering the USA by the evil Trump!

Lifetime pct .991. Stay tuned for more.

MSM News: "Don't jump to conclusions!" (etc etc)

By the sheerest coincidence, this excellent cartoon appeared on Blazing Cat Fur (highly recommended!) just in time for last night's shooting in Toronto's Greektown. See this morning's first post, below.

Of course we mustn't jump to conclusions! LMAO
