Islamic terrorists strike close to home -- theirs!

While we were waiting to see who was behind this weekends mass murders in El Paso and Dayton -- wondering if it was the work of terrorists (domestic or imported) or maybe just a couple of deranged individuals (as it turned out) -- the real terrorists, the jihadists, were in training in the Middle East. In Cairo, chief shithole of Egypt, to be specific.

Sadly for mearly two dozen Cairenes, their practice run -- moving a car full of explosives to the site of a planned attack -- didn't go off as planned. Or perhaps I should say it went off before it was planned, as the car exploded late Sunday night on the busy Corniche boulevard along the Nile River, setting other cars on fire, killing at least 20 and injuring at least 47, most of them Muslims. No cries of "Allahu akbar!" were heard, just a shout of "Oh shit!"

The massively weaponized vehicle [Hey! You learned a new word! Ed.] exploded near Egypt's main cancer hospital (pictured) shattering parts of the facade and some rooms inside and forcing the evacuation of dozens of patients. The hospital's main gate was damaged, along with several patient rooms and wards, according to a statement from Cairo University, whose medical school uses the institution as an educational facility. Windows and glass doors on the hospital building were shattered.

One patient told the meeja, "Parts of the ceiling of the hospital were collapsing as I got out of my room. People were running everywhere and shouting." The Egyptian Health Ministry did not say whether any patients or hospital staff were among the casualties. Another witness said that several vehicles on the street were damaged, burning those inside.

Inspector Mohammed Mohammed of the Cairo Police initially said the explosion was caused by a multi-vehicle accident. But today the Interior Ministry acknowledged that a car bomb was involved. The authorities accused a militant group known as Hasm, which has links to the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood, saying it was moving the car, which had been stolen months ago, to carry out an attack, errr, somewhere else.

The attack is the deadliest in Cairo since a bombing at a chapel adjacent to Egypt's main Coptic Christian cathedral killed 30 people during Sunday mass in December 2016. That attack was claimed by Egypt's affiliate of the ISIS group. For years, Egypt has battled Islamic militants, led by an ISIS affiliate, in the Sinai Peninsula. That insurgency has at times spilled over into other parts of the country. Smaller bombings, usually by roadside devices, have taken place more often, targeting security forces and in two cases tourists near the Pyramids. Car bombs, however, have been far rarer in the capital.

ISIS AGAIN claims responsibility for Toronto mass shooting

Way back in July -- how quickly we forget -- a lone gunman opened fire into a crowd into a crowd of restaurant-goers on Danforth Avenue, in Toronto's famous Greektown, killing two innocent people and wounding 15 before turning the gun on himself. No shouts of "Allahu akbar!" were heard, and the identity of the killer was suppressed by the police and lamestream media. Walt was one of many who speculated that Faisal Hussain -- for that was his name -- was an Islamic extremist. See "Non-gangsta gunman shoots 14 in Toronto", WWW 23/7/18.

The official politically correct government line, right from the get-go, was that Mr Hussain was mentally ill. That he happened to be an Afghan "newcomer" and a follower of the prophet was just a coincidence. Within hours, hours of the release of the accused's name, a professionally-written statement, in proper English, was sent out "on behalf of the Hussain family", explaining that "our son had severe mental health challenges, struggling with psychosis and depression his entire life."

The statement was written by Mohammed [What else? Ed.] Hashim, a full-time organizer for the Toronto & York Region Labour Council. Social media accounts belonging to Mr Hashim show him heavily involved in supporting NDP (= "social democratic") candidates both federally and provincially in Ontario. He's also described as a driving force behind the National Council of Canadian Muslims. See "Meet the spin doctor behind the Hussain family statement", by Anthony Furey, in the Toronto Sun, 25/7/18.

Walt's bullshit meter went right off the scale on that one, the more so when, on the very same day, ISIS/ISIL claimed responsibility for the vicious attack. See "'Allahu akbar!' One of Canada's "independent" broadcasters (but not the state-owned Canadian Broadcorping Castration) passing on a quote from the Islamic terrorists' AMAQ news agency, which referred to Mr Hussain as "a soldier of the Islamic State" who "carried out the attack in response to calls to target the citizens of the coalition countries."

Although one must always take claims from ISIS/ISIL cum grano salis, Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders put extra lipstick on the pig, saying his force's investigation had uncovered "no evidence to support these claims." The government called in the usual gang of "terrorism experts" to warn against accepting the ISIL claim at face value. "We'll look into it further, but don't expect a conclusion other than that Hussain was such a wild and crazy guy. Nothing to see here, folks."

Ah yes... we're looking into it... the default response of "the authorities" to anything that doesn't accord with the liberal line that Islam is a religion of peace, there's no jihad going on, and "diversity is our strength" (gaggg). Indeed, the investigation is still "active and ongoing", according to an affidavit filed by the Toronto police in response to an application in Ontario's Superior Court by several news outlets to smash the cone of silence and unseal details of the search warrants in the case. The cops are fighting to prevent the release of the information "to ensure the integrity of the investigation is maintained." Oh, hahahahahaha...

Meanwhile, this past Sunday, a propaganda video released by pro-Islamic State media named July's atrocity as IS's "most successful foreign operation of the year." The video by the Al-Abd Al-Faqir Media Foundation mimics a corporate year-end review of operations. Called "Harvest of the Lone Lions", it features excerpts from the most recent speech by Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS/ISIL, in which he praises attackers in the West, according to a translation by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

The information on the Toronto attack includes imagery taken from mainstream media after the shooting, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau speaking to the media. The rating and casualty information is superimposed over an animated scene of a tattered Canadian flag in a burning urban landscape.

As noted above, this is not the first such claim by IS. Nor is it the second. This is the third claim connecting the deadly attack to ISIS/ISIL, but still the Canuck authorities say they have no evidence from ISIL or its media affiliates that the gunman acted on behalf of any organizations. Requests from the Canuck meeja for comment on this latest claim have so far not been answered. M-103.

Toronto killer of 10 "seemed a little off"... that's all

The death toll in yesterday's mass murder in Toronto has risen to 10, with 15 wounded. Agent 3 has been following the story closely, looking for the connection with Islamic terrorism that almost everyone suspected immediately the story broke, since the weaponizing of rented trucks has practically been trademarked by ISIS.

Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders, who is Black [with a capital B, the latest PC style for people of the coloured persuasion. Ed.] flew back from a junket to New York and appeared on local TV around sunset to promise there would be "a fulsome answer" [sic] to questions about the perp's identity and motivation before the end of the day. Agent 3 took that to mean the boys in black were working the suspect over with rubber hoses, but of course it's not PC to say that. In any case, "government officials" were quoted on the late news as saying the massacre was "not part of any organized terrorist plot".

The weasel word there is "organized". That's like the answer I give when people ask me if I belong to an organized religion; I reply "No, I'm Catholic." When he heard that, Agent 3 surmised that the perp wasn't an official "soldier" of ISIS, but a freelance jihadi, perhaps a "radicalized yoof" who had gone to the Middle East to fight the infidels and returned to carry on the Islamic war against the Christian West on the enemy's turf. Well... errr... that's not how it turned out.

The driver of the white rental van, arrested on the scene by one (1) brave cop who ignored the man's request to "Shoot me! Shoot me!", is Alek Minassian, a 25-year-old student (for seven years, already) at Toronto's Seneca College. He was apparently raised, if not born, in the north Toronto area. From his name, I'm guessing his ancestry is Armenian, so if he has any religion, it's more likely to be Orthodox Christianity than Islam.

No cries of "Allahu akbar!" were heard, just "Kill me!" No ISIS flag or copy of the Quran was found in the van or at Mr Minassians home. No-one ever heard him say anything about geopolitics or the Islamic plot to rule the world. Those who were acquainted with the murderer are saying only that he was kind of a loner, kept to himself, and "seemed a little off." So it seems we can rule out any Islamic extremist motive. Why, then, did he do it? That brings us to the crazy part.

The Georgia Straight reported yesterday evening that Alek Minassian identified himself as part of "the incel rebellion". "What's that?", I hear you ask. The term is new to me too, but the Straight describes it as an obscure movement of men who describe themselves as involuntarily celibate, or "incel" for short. In other words, guys who can't get laid and are taking it out on society at large.

The Straight continues: The name of Alek Minassian, a 25-year-old resident of Richmond Hill, appeared alongside this Facebook post: "The Incel Rebellion has already begun. We will overthrow all the Chads and Stacys. All hail the Supreme Gentleman Elliot Rodger!" It was a reference to a 22-year-old Californa man who killed seven and injured 14 in a shooting and reckless-driving spree in Isla Vista, California, in 2014.

Prior to doing this, Rodger posted a YouTube video saying he was determined to punish women who had rejected him. Rodger described them as "Stacys" and men who were sexually active as "Chads". He died of self-inflicted wounds but not before he published a "manifesto" expressing his extreme contempt for interracial couples.

California, eh. And race, of course. The poison of the Golden State spreads not just across America but beyond its borders as well. If I were an Islamic extremist bent on using terrorism to purify Western society, I'd start with California, specifically Hollywood, the fount of all depravity. But then I'm just a simple old codger trying to survive in a quiet corner of the forest without having to defend myself against jihadis or nutbars driving white vans. God help me. And God help our sick, sick, sick society.

Americans! Will more gun control make you safer?

Chinese New Year celebrations are over, the Winter Olympics are half over (with only one Russian caught doping, so far), and life in the Excited States of America goes on as usual. Another day, another mass killing, this one a school shooting in Florida. Walt can't tell you how many that makes this year, as I've already lost count.

The usual "thoughts and prayers" have been expressed by all and sundry. But along with the expressions of grief -- real and genuine -- we're hearing shouts of anger, and plenty of them. The latest yesterday's rally at Parkland FL, where 1000s of angry students, parents, teachers and neighbours of the high school where 17 people were killed demanded that immediate action be taken on gun-control legislation.

There were also rallies in St. Petersburg, on the other side of the state, and in Fort Lauderdale, about 25 miles from the scene of the horrific crime. Delaney Tarr, a student at the school where it happened, told the crowd in front of the federal courthouse in Fort Lauderdale, "Because of these gun laws, people that I know, people that I love, have died, and I will never be able to see them again."

Let's think about that. What "gun laws" was Mr Tarr talking about? Laws exist, and the laws allow the purchase of an AR-15 assault rifle provided the purchaser has been properly vetted by the police and other bureaucrats charged with enforcing the laws. Since the killer, 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz, was known in the community to have exhibited signs of mental disturbance, it seems to me that the problem is not with the laws (or lack thereof), but with the system by which the laws are supposed to be applied.

It appears now, from public records, interviews with friends and family and online interactions, that Mr Cruz was unstable and violent to himself and those around him. Alas, even though a number of agencies, including the FBI, were notified about his threatening behaviour, but did little to stop it.

The Sun-Sentinel reported that Florida's Department of Children and Families investigated when Cruz posted on Snapchat a video showing himself cutting his arms. That was back in August of 2016. The agency's abuse hotline was told, "Mr Cruz has fresh cuts on both his arms. Mr Cruz stated he plans to go out and buy a gun. It is unknown what he is buying the gun for."

According to the paper, the DCF investigation was completed in November. The agency concluded that Mr Cruz had not been mistreated by his mother, was receiving adequate care from a mental health counsellor and was attending school. Mental health centre staff "came out and assessed the [victim]," the DCF report said "and found him to be stable enough not to be hospitalized."

"Attending school"... yes... At school, Mr Cruz routinely fought with teachers, was accused of swearing at staff and was referred for a "threat assessment" in January 2017 (two months after the DCF investigation wrapped up), according to the New York Times. School records seen by the Times show he was suspended several times in the 2016-17 school year and was frequently absent. They also show Cruz attended at least six schools, including a school for students with emotional problems, the newspaper said.

Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said his office had received more than 20 calls about Cruz in the past few years. He did not say what action his department took... if any. Which brings us to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, America's super-cops.

The FBI said "a person close to Cruz" called the FBI's tip line and provided information about Cruz's weapons and his erratic behaviour. The caller was concerned Cruz could attack a school. The agency acknowledged the tip should have been shared with the FBI's Miami office and investigated, but it was not. Perhaps those responsible were too busy with the investigation into the non-existent connection between Russian conspirators and the Trump campaign!

Dear American readers, how safe do you feel? Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that "they" -- terrorists, gangstas, crazy people -- aren't out to get you! The FBI, your state and local police and other agencies of social control (as I characterize them) are supposed to be "serving and protecting" you. Are they? Ha!

Now the usual gang of snowflakes, lefties and SJWs want to use events like the Parkland school killings as an excuse to take away your guns. Do you know what will happen if more restrictive gun laws are passed that would, for instance, make carrying a gun of any kind in a school zone illegal? I'll tell you! What will happen is that no-one will have a gun at school except someone evil and/or crazy enough to not give a shit about the new tough law!

Here's another question. How would such a law be enforced? What are they going to do, make all the students (and teachers and visitors) pass through a metal detector and undergo a pat-down search on entering the school? How many more law enforcement officers would that take? Would they be as effective as the rent-a-cops employed by the TSA to keep you safe at airports? Ha!

IMHO, the best defence against people like Nikolas Cruz is that envisioned by the Second Amendment to the Constitution. The Parkland massacre would not have been averted if the heroic football coach or any other teacher had been packing heat, but the loss of life would have been considerably less. Perhaps only Mr Cruz would have been killed.

Let's close with a thought from Thomas Sowell, an American economist, turned social theorist, political philosopher and author, who was born in North Carolina but grew up in Harlem. "The key fallacy of so called gun control laws is that such laws do not in fact control guns. They simply disarm law abiding citizens, while people bent on violence find firearms readily available."

ISIS claims responsibility for Mandalay Bay massacre, FBI says no

Latest numbers from Las Vegas show 58 dead and over 500 injured in the Mandalay Bay massacre, making it the deadliest mass murder in American history. Las Vegas police have confirmed that Stephen Paddock, 64, is being considered the perpetrator. He was found dead in his hotel room, across from the site of the outdoor country music festival which he shot up.

"Stephen Paddock" doesn't sound like an Arab or African name, and a photo plastered all over the internet shows him as a rather scruffy-looking whitey. The question on everybody's lips, likewise all over the net, is: why did he do it? A little-known website called SITE Intelligence Group Enterprise, run by one (((Rita Katz))), reports that ISIS has issued a "formal communiqué" credit for the shooting. Here's what they tweeted.

The post, in the Jihadist News section of the website, claims that Stephen Paddock is one and the same as "Abu Abdul Barr al-Amriki". They show an ISIS communiqué declaring that he heeded the response of Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi to attack coalition countries.

A statement from the ISIS news agency Amaq said, "The Las Vegas attacker is a soldier of the Islamic State in response to calls to target coalition countries. The Las Vegas attacker converted to Islam a few months ago." No evidence is given for any of that. Police searched Mr Paddock's hotel room and his home, but haven't come up with any evidence that he had ties to the Islamic terrorist group.

Apart from the SITE report, all we've heard so far is the suggestion that the late Mr Paddock was "known to local law enforcement". And now -- just a few minutes ago -- Agence France Presse tweeted a denial from the FBI that there is any connection between the perp and ISIS. Here it is.

Walt finds the contradiction between what SITE says and what the FBI says more than passing strange. Either the FBI is lying -- something they've never done before -- or SITE, (((Ms Katz))) and her colleagues are guilty of (at least) creating and spreading "fake news". But why would they do that? Stay tuned!
