Fasching season cancelled in Munich for fear of another Muslim attack

Tomorrow is Shrove Tuesday, the day before Lent, the Christian season of fasting and penance in preparation for Easter. In many nominally Christian countries, people mark the day before a season of sobriety with carnivals and other events of gaiety, costumes, bibulousness, fun and frolic. 

There's the famous carnival in Brazil and, of course, Mardi Gras down in the Big Easy. Pre-Lenten carnival celebrations are traditional in Germany too, where the carnival season goes by different names: Karneval, Fasching, and Fastnacht. While all three stem from the same pre-Lenten tradition, each region in Germany has its own customs.

Alas, there will be no Karneval, Fasching or Fastnacht in Munich, Germany, this year. Authorities have cancelled the traditional carnival celebrations following the Islamic terror attack on a demonstration in the city that left two dead and 39 injured. 

Officials in the Bavarian capital announced on 19 February that neither the "Nonsense Thursday" event, which was to be held on February 27th, nor the Shrove Tuesday celebration will take place this year. A third carnival event in the city's central pedestrian zone has also been cancelled. 

Need we tell you why? In a statement released six days after the horrific attack on a crowd of innocent people, city officials said they had not taken the decision lightly but "as a city family it is unimaginable for us to light-heartedly celebrate carnival after the attack and especially after the deaths of our colleague and her daughter." 

So the cancellation was an act of mourning, then? Noooo. Security concerns were the true reason. In recent months, Germany has seen an unprecedented spate of terrorist attacks by Muslim immigrants, "refugees" and asylum-seekers. 

On 23 August 2024, a Syrian immigrant allegedly killed three people and injured eight in a stabbing attack on a "Festival for Diversity" [sic] in Solingen, for which Islamic State claimed responsibility. 

On 20 December 2024, a Syrian immigrant rammed a vehicle into a Christmas market in Magdeburg, leaving six people dead and 300 injured.

This past January 22nd, an Afghan asylum-seeker stabbed a two-year-old child and a 41-year-old man to death in Aschaffenburg, where carnival parades have also been put on hold. 

The German people have noticed, as witness the spectacular rise of the Alternativ für Deutschland (AfD) in February's election. Commenting on the decision to cancel the Munich events, columnist Julian Reichelt pointed out the irony of a standard phrase uttered almost daily by German politicians over the past few years: "We will not let Islamists change our way of life."

To Angela Merkel, Fred Merz and the others who keep saying there's no problem with mass immigration, Walt says: Ist Ihnen nicht aufgefallen, dass sich Ihr Lebensstil bereits verändert hat? Und nicht zum Besseren.

More "Allahu akbar!" in Germany... implications for USA and Canada

German chancellor Olaf Scholz said this weekend that his government remains committed to former chancellor Angela Merkel's policy of welcoming foreign invaders "for humanitarian and legal reasons". However, he said "Irregular migration into Germany must go down." Sounds to Walt like sucking and blowing at the same time, but why (I hear you ask) would Herr Scholz speak out in the middle of a quiet summer weekend. Here's a visual clue.

Yes, dear readers, another of those poor persecuted Muslims has done it again. Pictured is someone the polizei and politically correct media refer to as "Issa Al H", a 26-year-old Syrian "refugee". Al stabbed three people to death and wounded 8 others in an attack in Solingen on Friday. It wasn't an accident. The cops say he went for the throat every time.

The authorities (and in Germany that word means a lot) at first wouldn't name the attacker, nor would they speculate on his motive for the atrocity. But once Islamic State/ISIS claimed responsibility for the crime, they decided something had to be said, hence the statement from the Chancellor, who said today, "This was terrorism, terrorism against us all."  

How about that?! A politician with the courage to utter the T-word. But not enough courage to add adjectives such as "Islamic" or "Muslim".

Herr Scholz also said his government would have to do "everything we can to ensure that those who cannot and should not stay here in Germany are repatriated and deported" and that deportations would be sped up if necessary. He also promised to tighten laws on weapons ownership -- not "guns" but "weapons"-- "very quickly". 

This latest incident of wanton terrorism by a jihadi wannabe exacerates an already heated debate in das Vaterland about the merits (if any) of migration. On Saturday, conservative opposition leader Friedrich Merz demanded an end to taking in refugees from Syria and Afghanistan and called for controls on all of Germany’s borders. 

 

More significantly, Alice Weidel, leader of the Alternativ für Deutschland (AfD), has gone a step further and wants a complete stop to all migration. Any honest opinion poll [an oxymoron for sure. Ed.] would show the majority of Germans (as well as citizens of the AABC countries) in partial or full agreement with that proposition. 

The centre-left government of Chancellor Scholz has already pledged to deport migrants who have committed serious crimes and people whose application for asylum has been rejected. But it would appear that they have entrusted the job to the  German equivalent of America's "border czar", as very few of the benefits-shoppers have actually been sent back to their shitholes.

Mr Al-Stabby there came to Germany in 2022 as a Syrian "refugee". Usually Syrians have a good chance of being granted asylum in Germany, but his application was rejected and he was ordered to be deported to Bulgaria, because he had already registered for asylum there. But when the polizei tried to deport him, they were shocked, shocked to be unable to find him, and he remained in Germany. 

As I write I am waiting for results from yesterday's election in Saxony and Thuringia, two large eastern German states whose people are said to be less welcoming to invaders than the more liberal volk of western Germany. The AfD is expected to do well and may even win the most votes. America's Dimocrats and Canada's Gliberals should... repeat, should... take note.

Never a week goes by without an Islamic terrorist attack somewhere in Europe or North America. We don't see them all because such attacks are so commonplace now that the lickspittle media either don't report them, or downplay the ethnicity and religion of the perp. 

But an attack in Germany yesterday was too gross to be ignored. In the Bavarian city of Wuerzburg, a 24-year-old Somali "refigee" -- one of a million or so welcomed by Angela Merkel  in 2015 -- armed with a long knife [a scimitar? Ed.] killed three people and wounded six others. Here's the video from the Germany's state broadcaster, Deutsche Welle.

   

Following the German government's standing orders not to provide any information which might stoke the fires of Islamophobia, DW declined to name the perpetrator ["Mohammed", perhaps? Ed.], although die Polizei had known all about him for some time.

We don't know his name, but we do have a picture, scraped from a video which circulated briefly on the Internet before German authorities censored it, "out of respect for the victims", one of whom can be seen lying on the ground to the left of the killer.

According to a Bavarian security official, the attacker had lived in Wuerzburg since 2015, most recently in a shelter for the homeless. He had been admitted to a psychiatric unit a few days earlier. 

Investigators say they are "looking into" the motivation for the attack. Without conceding that the perp is a follower of the Prophet, a police spokesthingy aid the suspect spokes is not known to the police for crimes that "lean in the direction of Islamic extremism... But naturally, we need to compile all the evidence that we can."

"In any case, there is circumstantial evidence that this could have been an Islamist attack," he continued, citing a witness who alleged that the attacker had shouted the Arabic phrase "Allahu Akbar!" which means "God is great!" You'd think that would be enough to establish the motive, but of course no politically correct German would want to jump to that conclusion.

Breaking GOOD news! Marine Le Pen's National Rally wins European Parliament elections in France

Ed. here (again). I was just about to sign out for the day when this despatch came in on the mojo wire. Walt is a strong supporter of Marine Le Pen and will doubtless turn cartwheels when he reads this, but for the moment I'll just give you the basics, as reported by AP.

A European Parliament election that could reshape the political order across the continent drew toward a close Sunday with the anti-immigrant far right projected to win in France, and Germany's centrist governing party headed for heavy losses as well.

The four days of balloting across the 28 European Union countries were seen as a test of the influence of the nationalist, populist and hard-right movements that have swept the continent.

Exit polls in France indicated that Marine Le Pen's far-right National Rally party came out on top, in an astounding rebuke for French President Emmanuel Macron, who has made EU integration the heart of his presidency.

Exit polls indicated the party of German Chancellor Angela Merkel also suffered major losses.

New Danish law: refugees will no longer become immigrants!

As Walt told you in "Why the Danes are the happiest people in the world" (WWW 17/3/16), the blonde, blue-eyed people of Denmark have, almost alone among western Europeans, discouraged dark, brown-eyed "refugees" from the shithole countries from entering their little country. There are many more cows than asylum-seekers in Denmark, and the Danes like it that way. That's why they're happy!

The Danes are much happier than their neighbours to the south -- the Germans -- who have been forced by the barking mad Angela Merkel to accept nearly two million asylum-seekers, who are now settling in nicely, apart from a few terrorist attacks, mass rapes, patrols of Sharia law police. Having got their noses in the German tent, the "refugees" now intend to get all of themselves in... forever... leaving real Germans in the minority. Although there are only a few thousand migrants in Denmark, the prospect of the same thing happening in their country is starting to worry the Danes.

To keep Denmark for the Danes, the country's government, with the assistance of the right-wing Danish People's Party and (surprisingly) the Social Democrats, has passed a law which is described as a "paradigm shift" in Danish refugee and asylum policy. Under the new policy, refugees should be sent home when conditions in their countries of origin are deemed safe enough. The integration allowance -- a financial handout to the newcomers -- will be reduced, and opportunities for them to bring their large families for "family re-unions" will be further limited. As well, residence permits will become temporary as the default, and it will become easier for the government to withdraw or not extend them.

As Danish Finance Minister Kristian Jensen put it, Denmark will no longer have a system where "refugees become immigrants." The new legislation is aimed at drastically reducing the number of refugees who stay in Denmark indefinitely by shifting the focus from integration of refugees to sending them back to their home shitholes. The message to immigrant wannabes is clear: Don't get too comfortable here; you're not going to be staying long!

Immigration and Integration Minister Inger Støjberg of the centrist Venstre party stressed that it is yet to be seen how many refugees will be sent home as a result of the new legislation, but promised a concrete effect. The bill was backed by the right-wing anti-immigrant Danish People's Party, as well as Denmark's largest opposition party, the Social Democrats, who previously criticised parts of it, such as the reduction of social welfare benefits for people who have been granted asylum. The socialists' immigration spokesthingy said he supported the general shift towards a temporary status for all refugees.

"Allahu akbar!" in Germany - cops arrest Iraqi "refugees" in bomb plot

If the headline bears a remarkable similarity to "'Allahu akbar!' in Canada - cops arrest Syrian 'refugees' in bomb plot" (WWW 25/1/19), that's because the story is virtually the same, except that the locale is City, Germany, and the number of "refugees" arrested is three instead of two.

German federal prosecutors announced yesterday that three Iraqi refugees have been arrested on suspicion of planning an Islamic extremist bomb attack. Die polizei said Shahin F. and Hersh F., both 23, and Rauf S., 36, were taken into custody in an early morning raid by a police SWAT team in the area of Dithmarschen, near the border with Denmark. German laws forbid the release of the last names of the jihadists, for reasons of political correctness.

The two younger men are suspected of preparing a bomb attack and violating weapons laws, and the older one is alleged to have aided them. A spokesthingy for the federal prosecutor's office said the men appear to have been in the early stages of planning. "We believe that Shahin F. and Hersh F. were firmly committed to carrying out an attack," she told reporters, "but...according to our information the concrete target and timing of the attack weren't determined yet." Oddly enough (?) that's exactly what the Mounties said in the Canadian case.

But the Germans went way farther than the ultra-PC Canucks, alleging the two men decided in late 2018 to "carry out an attack motivated by Islamic extremism in Germany." Imagine that! Unlike the mealy-mouthed Canucks, they actually used the words "Islamic" and "terrorists" in the same sentence! According to the spokesthingy, there are indications that they sympathized with ISIS, although there was no evidence so far that they were members of, or directed by Islamic extremists.

In December, the spokesthingy went on, Shahin F. downloaded instructions on how to build a bomb, and ordered a detonator from a contact person in Britain, but never got it as it was its delivery was stopped by Inspector Knacker of the Yard. At the same time, the two younger men carried out tests using about nine ounces of gunpowder extracted from New Year's fireworks, and asked Rauf S. to procure a firearm.

The head of the German federal police said a task force of around 200 investigators had searched properties in three states, while keeping a close eye on the suspects, who had refugee status under Angela Merkel's discredited Willkommenskultur policy. In a remarkable statement of the obvious, he told reporters "The case shows that the threat of Islamic terrorism is still present." Imagine that (again)!

It wasn't immediately clear when the suspects came to Germany. More than a million "refugees" and asylum-seekers entered Germany in 2015-16, most of them young followers of the prophet Mohammed from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. The involvement of several asylum-seekers in extremist attacks or plots has helped boost support for the anti-immigrant Alternativ für Deutschland (AfD) party.

Security authorities have thwarted several Islamic terrorist attacks in Germany since the killing of 12 innocent people when a truck mowed down people at Berlin's Christmas market in 2016. Yesterday's news is bound to be repeated. The barbarians are not just at the gates, but inside the gates, and there will be no getting them out now.

Besides, in the run-up to the Christmas season, we should have something positive. And merry! So here is the Kassensymphonie (Cashiers Symphony) at an Edeka supermarket in Germany, with their well-orchestrated veersion of Jingle Bells.



This all-time favourite Christmas song was played by 9 cashiers and recorded by 13 different cameras to see shoppers reactions. Edeka is the largest supermarket chain in Germany and it appears that the holiday shoppers enjoyed this musical surprise. But (I don't hear you ask) where and when was this recorded? "Allahu akbar!" in Amsterdam - 2 Americans stabbed by "refugee"

Just a small terrorist incident reported in Europe today. What makes it worthy of mention on WWW is that Dutch authorities -- for it hapopened in Amsterdam -- have actually admitted that the knife attacker who stabbed two American tourists at the main railway station on Friday morning was "motivated by extremism".

Here you see two members of de politie dealing effectively with 19-year-old Jawed S., who, according to Deutsche Welle (the German state broadcaster, who never give surnames for fear of... see above) is an Afghan citizen who holds a German residency permit. Walt suspects he was one of the many 1000s of "unaccompanied minors" who flooded into dear old Deutschland at the invitation of Angela Merkel. He is currently being held in hospital with gunshot wounds to his lower body, and is expected to be arraigned at a closed-door hearing on Monday.

Meanwhile, a spokesthingy for Amsterdam's city council has told the meeja "First statements made by the suspect indicate he had a terrorist motive." Of course they don't say what kind of terrorism -- mustn't fan the flames of Islamophobia, you know -- and we're not likely to find out on Monday, since the court hearing will be in camera, the details already revealed are surely all ye need to know.

What about the American tourists (I hear you ask). They are recovering in hospital from injuries the police say were serious but not life-threatening. American Ambassador Pete Hoekstra said, "We wish them a speedy recovery and are working closely with the City of Amsterdam to provide assistance to them and their families, so that they can return quickly to the good old US of A, where they'll be safe from marauding Muslims." [Ed., can you please check that quote. Walt]

Fed-up Germans take to streets in anti-immigrant demos

I've been waiting for months now to see which country's native-born citizens would be the first to take to the streets in revolt against open borders policies that allow the invasion of their country by hordes of mostly Muslim, mostly non-white asylum-seekers and "refugees".

I knew it wouldn't be Canada, because Canucks are so damn passive that the only thing that riles them up is losing (or winning) a hockey championship. And I figured it wouldn't be the Excited States of America. Since the election of President Trump, there's at least a faint hope that the wall might get built, and POTUS has kept his promise to close the borders to at least some of the Islamists, so protests like this months Unite the Right rally have kind of fizzled out.

So that left Europe and the Disunited Kingdom, the latter being (supposedly) on its way out of the EU. It's hard to think of a western European country that isn't struggling to assimilate 1000s of "irregular migrants", who keep washing up (literally) on the shores of the Mediterranean, assisted by do-good weenies and discredited policies like Angela Merkel's "Willkommenskultur".

As President Trump has pointed out, crime rates in such tolerant societies as those of Sweden, Britain, France and Germany have spiked since the migrant tsunami of 2015. Welfare payments and other social costs have gone through the roof. Who would be the first to say "We've had enough!"?
Answer: It's the Germans of Saxony who this week had the courage (I don't know the German word for "cojones") to get up on their hind feet and into the streets of the state's third-largest city, Chemnitz, to protest Willkommenskultur and the Merkel government's pro-refugee, anti-German policies.

"Ausländer raus!" -- "Foreigners out!" -- sums up perfectly the sentiments of the majority of Germans -- feelings with the Fatherland's politicians ignore at their peril. Chemnitz is very close to the border with Czechi (aka the Czech Republic) where they have virtually no problems with Muslim migrants because... well... because they don't let them in! The Germans of Saxony have not been slow to notice the difference between their country and those to the east, but are stuck with daft rulers obsessed with political correctness to the point of proscribing the naming in the media of those accused of crimes, for fear of stoking Islamophobia and/or xenophobia.

Which brings us to the cause of this week's riots in Chemnitz. Late last week there was a fatal stabbing in the city. The victim was German. Die polizei arrested two men, who they would not identify, but the news leaked out that the perps were both Muslims, both "refugees", one Iraq and one Syrian. When outraged citizens took to the street, the government's response was predictable. Martin Dulig, the deputy premier of Saxony, told the called the leak of the arrest warrant (most likely from a police or judicial source) a scandal. "We have a bigger problem to deal with there," he said Martin Dulig, without specifying the nature of the problem.

When Herr Dulig's statement failed to calm the unrest, his boss went into damage control mode. Saxony's premier, Michael Kretschmer (for it was he) vowed to deal firmly with... wait for it... not foreign criminals, but with "extremists" who dared to raise their voices (and arms -- the old Nazi salute is verboten in Germany). "The fact that we have a Syrian and an Iraqi suspect is no reason -- no reason at all -- for a general suspicion of all foreign residents," he said.

Is it any wonder that the right-wing, anti-immigrant Alternative for Germany (AfD) party and the Pegida movement are strong in Saxony, and getting stronger. Both groups, along with a local right-wing group called Pro Chemnitz, united for a rally on Sunday. Just as in the USA, a counter-rally was organized by SJWs and antifa extremists, but, unlike in the USA, the 1000 or so lefties were outnumbered by some 6000 patriotic Germans determined to get their country back.

Chemnitz is braced for fresh protests this weekend, with local authorities (like Herr Kretschmer and Herr Dulig) calling in federal police to help. Walt heard one of them -- not sure which -- interviewed on TV last night. He said that, in Germany, violence is reserved exclusively for the government. Something similar was said some 85 years ago by officials of the Weimar Republic. Stay tuned.

UPDATED: Spain takes "refugees" Italy refused, with predictable results

In mid-June, the new Italian government, elected on an anti-immigrant platform, put its foot down and refusesd to allow a boatload of bogus "refugees" -- economic migrants, really -- to dump its cargo of mostly black, mostly Muslim third-worlders on Italian shores. See "New Italian government turns back boatload of 'refugees'", WWW 11/6/18. "Enough is enough!" said Interior Minister Matteo Salvini. "Saving lives is a duty, but transforming Italy into an enormous refugee camp isn't. We're closing the ports!"

After much hand-wringing and tut-tutting by the EU, the Vatican and the usual gang of SJWs, Spain finally agreed to take the 269 "refugees", but only temporarily of course, since they expected the itinerant welfare-seekers to move on to places which offered more generous benefits. Like Sweden, or Britain, or Angela Merkel's Germany, where Willkommenskultur reigns supreme, in spite of the feelings of the German people.

So Spain took them. And guess what? The word got out! "Hey, fellow asylum-seekers! Set your boats of a northwest course. Spain is the new Canada!" Surprise, surprise for the Spaniards, and not a pleasant one either. This weekend Spain's coastguard union warned that the service was "completely overwhelmed" by a dramatic rise in the number of migrant crossings. The "extraordinary upturn" in arrivals meant "an absolute overflow of work" for maritime rescue centres, the union said, issuing an urgent call for more resources to help it cope with the "massive arrival of immigrants" on the country's shores.

On Friday morning alone, the Spanish coastguard pulled 627 people from 35 rafts in the Strait of Gibraltar yesterday morning, bringing arrivals to more than 2000 this week. Dozens more were also picked up in Murcia, Majorca and Alicante. By an accident of history, Spain still owns two tiny enclaves on the coast of north Africa. On Thursday, more than 600 border-jumpers forced their way through the border fence at one of them -- Ceuta. The unions representing the Spanish Civil guard called the incursions "well-planned" and "of unprecedented violence".

In the Spanish province of Andalusia, authorities are sounding the alarm over the surge in arrivals, noting that reception centres are saturated and migrants being forced to sleep in converted sports halls, on boats and in one case on a police station patio. Spain is now the largest gateway for migrants crossing the Mediterranean to Europe, with 20,992 people having landed so far this year. That's 3000 more, now, than have landed in Italy in the same time period. A week earlier the difference was about 200.

The Spanish government blames the increase on the crackdown on the Mediterranean route from Libya to Italy. The fact that, like Canada's gaga Prime Minister Trudeau, they rolled out the welcome mat for "refugees" who now turn out to be not so welcome, had nothing to do with the crisis.

UPDATED: "Allahu akbar!" in Merkeland... again?

Walt can't be certain on this one, since die Polizei are being characteristically tight-lipped [and ashen-faced? Ed.], but initial reporters out of Lübeck, Germany, suggest that a terror attack in which 12 people were injured may be the work of a fanatcial Islamist. No-one has yet reported hearing cries of "Allahu akbar!" but German media are under instructions not to publish mere details like that, for fear of provoking still more Islamphopbia amongst a people sick, sore and tired or Angela Merkel's Willkommenskultur.

The local paper, Lübecker Nachrichten reports that a suspect attacked passengers with a knife onboard a busy bus, in the Kücknitz district of the northern German city. Inspektor Katzenjammer of the state police said that authorities were still trying to determine the circumstances of the attack. "Nobody was killed," a press release stated. "The perpetrator was overpowered and is now in police custody."

AP quoted Ulla Hingst, a spokesthingy for state prosecutors, as saying that police are investigating a suspicious rucksack. "Nothing can be ruled out, including a terrorist background," she said. The local cops tweeted, "We ask for your understanding that we cannot provide any information about the identity of the suspect at the moment."

No "authorities" -- prosecutors, police, first responders or anyone else -- has dared to whisper words like "asylum-seeker", "refugee", "North African", "Muslim", or "Islamic terrorist". Walt is surely not the only person, though, who remembers that, in December 2016, 12 people were killed in Berlin when a Tunisian with links to Islamist militants ploughed into a crowded Christmas marketplace. Walt predicts that a similar connection will be revealed in this case... but later... and very quietly. Lifetime pct .990.

UPDATE ADDED 21/7/18: Die Polizei today issued a statement (on Twitter!) as follows: "The identity of the perpetrator has been clarified: a 34-year-old German citizen resident in Lübeck. There are currently no indications the man was political radicalized and no signs of a terrorist background." They later clarified that the suspect was a German citizen who was born in, errr, Iran. So that's all right then.

VIDEO: 1000+ Europeans killed/maimed by asylum-seekers since 2014

An Eritrean asylum seeker and his British Muslim partner have been found guilty of plotting an ISIS-inspired terror attack over the 2017 Christmas holiday period.

According to the Derby Telegraph, Munir Mohammed, 37, a resident of Derby, met Rowaida El-Hassan, 33, from London, on a Muslim dating website. Mr Mohammed is a devout follower of the Prophet after whom he was named. So firm in his beliefs was he that he once chastised a neighbour for wearing shorts. When arrested by Inspector Knacker in December, he was days away from launching a "Mother of Satan" a bomb or poison attack. Click on the video to get the details.

My point here is that, although Mr Mohammed and Ms El-Hassan were foiled, other "radicalised" Islamic asylum-seekers have murdered or injured more than 1000 people in terror attacks in Europe between January 2014 and December 2017. In that period, 32 Islamist plots involved those who had sought sanctuary. 44 "refugees" had either carried out atrocities or been thwarted before they could bring bloodshed to the streets.

The findings echo warnings by law enforcement chiefs that some ISIS fanatics bent on killing "infidels" -- not just non-Muslims but Muslims of the wrong sort! -- posed as "refugees" fleeing war and persecution in the shithole countries of the Middle East. They exploited the "migrant crisis" by pretending to be asylum seekers, in order to sneak into Europe and cause carnage.

In an article published by the Washington-based Heritage Foundation, terrorism expert Robin Simcox says it was "disturbingly simple" for jihadists to hide among genuine refugees because Europe's borders were under huge strain. European leaders, he explains, "inadvertently increased the terrorist threat" as a direct result of their catastrophic handling of controversial immigration and open-border policies. He singles out German Chancellor [for the time being! Walt] Angela Merkel, who sparked fury by throwing open the doors to Syrian refugees, leading to an influx of more than one million people in 2015.

Mr Simcox makes clear that the fault for 11 successful attacks involving asylum-seekers, which killed 182 people and injured 814, lay with the terrorists, but "Ill-conceived immigration policies have made it easier for them to strike. European leaders were either naïve about the risks or failed to communicate honestly with the public the impact that accepting such large amounts of people would have on security.... The fall-out from the decision to take in such a large amount of unvetted people in such a short time will continue for decades to come."

Here are the key takeaways from Mr Simcox's article:

1. Islamism poses a clear and present national security threat to Europe. This threat has mainly converged on France, Germany, and the U.K.
2. Over time, the plots have increased in frequency. Defeating ISIS militarily is clearly vital. Yet such a defeat alone would not mean the danger has passed.
3. The US can and should help its friends in Europe [assuming it has any left] face these challenges. Nonetheless, a robust response to Islamism in Europe must be led from within Europe.

According to Mr Simcox, "Europe has faced a severe threat from Islamist terrorism for years. Yet Chancellor Merkel's decision to open Germany's borders in 2015 unfortunately increased that threat.... While only a minority of asylum seekers pose a security risk, the plots carried out by those exploiting migrant routes – in Paris, London, Berlin, Stockholm and elsewhere across Europe – demonstrate that even a low number of extremists can still cause huge amounts of damage."

Walt would like to be a little more specific. Let's make that "low number of extremists" one percent (1%) -- one crazy Muslim fanatic out of 100. Angela Merkel permitted the entry of a million "refugees" and asylum-seekers into Germany in just one year. 1% of 1,000,000 is... wait for it... 10,000.

10,000 potential Islamic terrorists on the loose right now. If 44 "radicalized" Muslims were responsible for murdering or injuring 1000 innocents, 10,000 jihadis could potentially kill or maim... let's see... 230,000. Does it make sense to keep letting these people into our countries? Please direct your answer to Angela Merkel, Theresa May, Justin Trudeau and all the other Islamophile "leaders" we foolishly expect to protect us.

Parsing the G7 summit: triumph for Trump or Trudeau or just chaos?

Six of the G7 leaders who met at Charlevoix, Québec, this weekend thought it was a good meeting. As everyone who reads Dilbert knows, if the point of the meeting is to get together around a table (preferably at a luxury resort) and have a good yak, a meeting which doesn't end in mayhem is "good", even though nothing is actually accomplished.

POTUS seems to be obsessed with accomplishing something, so he doesn't agree that the meeting was a success. He came late and withdrew early [Huh? Ed.] thus avoiding most of Canuck Prime Minister "Junior" Trudeau's agenda for the gabfest. Saving the whales, keeping the earth from burning up and improving the miserable lives of girl children don't interest Mr Trump very much. He wanted to talk business -- trade and tariffs -- but the Euroweenies and Canuck Liberals aren't interested in those things. Reuters got an excellent picture which sums up the tenor of the talks. Six friends and a stranger, but when the stranger is the leader of the most powerful nation on earth, what difference does it make? What this picture really needs, though, is a caption. There are already hundreds of memes floating around in cyberspace, but I thought I'd add a couple more.

Footnote: After his abrupt departure from the meeting, POTUS lobbed a grenade at the assembled globalists and progressives (especially "Mr Socks") by walking back his agreement to a group statement on trade, complaining that he had been blindsided by M Trudeau's criticism of his tariff threats at the summit-ending news conference. As he flew from Canada to Singapore Saturday night, POTUS vented his wrath on Twitter. Among other things, he called Junior "weak" and "dishonest", something Canucks have known since shortly after he took office, but nevertheless found a tad insulting, eh.

Christian crosses ordered to be hung in all government offices

Really! But (Walt hears you ask) where? Surely not in the AABC countries (America, Australia, Britain and Canada). `Struth, mate...surely not. But this is in "post-Christian" western Europe, specifically... wait for it... Germany! Well, in Bavaria, the most Catholic of all German states. Really.

As one of his first acts in office, Markus Söder, Bavaria's newly sworn-in state premier, has ordered that crosses be hung in all government buildings in the southern German state, by June 1st. He called the move an "avowal of Bavarian identity and Christian values."

Herr Söder said the directive was not a violation of constitutional rules about religious neutrality, the Premier explained, because it was a symbol of "Bavarian identity" rather than religion. He told the meeja that after the cabinet meeting at which the decision was made, he had immediately gone out to hang a cross in the lobby of the state chancellery in Munich.

The directive applies only to buildings housing agencies of the state of Bavaria, including all courts and school classrooms, but not local district buildings or federal buildings, over which the Bavarian government has no authority. It comes amid heated public debate over the role of religion in Germany society. Angela Merkel publicly rebuked her interior minister, Horst Seehofer, earlier this year after he claimed "Islam has no place in Germany."

Herr Söder, leader of the Christian Social Union (the Bavarian sister party to Frau Merkel's Christian Democrats), took over the premiership from Herr Seehohofer when the latter joined Frau Merkel's hastily cobbled-together coalition government in March. In spite of the criticism of his Islamophile boss, Herr Seehofer has steadfastly refused to walk back his statement or change his views on the issue.

Italian top court OKs Fascist salute as right-wing coalition heads for election victory

As Italy gets ready for its first general election in five years, the New York Times has its hair on fire over the growing popularity of "right-wing" political parties. You already know, don't you, what epithet they're hurling at groups like the Brothers of Italy. That's right. They're using the F-word -- Fascists! In "Anti-Fascist Protesters Rally in Italy as Mussolini’s Heirs Gain Ground" (24/2/48) one terrified scribe writes, "The re-emergence of extremist violence, harassment and xenophobia has gripped Italy and forced the country to reckon with the hard-right and fascist ideologies fueled by a lingering financial crisis and migration."

"Fueled by migration"... Imagine that! As if Italians would be different from the Austrians, Hungarians, Poles, Germans and other Europeans who reject the "suicide by diversity" of the Christian West espoused by such misguided "leaders" as Angela Merkel, who is, until next month at least, still the Chancellor Germany. Italians are just as fed up as the rest with having to welcome, feed, clothe and house the masses of mainly Muslim migrants being fished out of the Mediterranean every week.

Those are the same "refugees" who bite the hands that feed them, going on orgies of robbery, rape and general mayhem. It is only natural that there should be an awakening of the xenophobia which is part of human nature. And it is only natural that those feelings should find expression in what the Times calls "extremist violence, harassment and xenophobia".

As the elections approach, politically inspired violence has become an almost daily occurrence. Earlier this month, in the city of Macerata, a "fascist extremist" (the Times again) carrying a candle with an image of Mussolini opened fire on African migrants, wounding at least six people before he was arrested. Interior Minister Marco Minniti described the shootings as an "evident display of racial hatred."

Earlier this week, Italy's supreme Court of Cassation ruled that giving a Fascist salute is OK. Provided it's "commemorative" and non-violent, the straight-arm salute popularized by Mussolini is considered a free expression of thought, the court said, acquitting two Brothers of Italy (FdI) supporters who gave the salute in Milan in 2014. They had been charged under a law including such salutes as "complicity in Fascist demonstrations", which are prohibited by a postwar law banning the "apology of Fascism".

Forza Nuova, an Italian party which marches with that salute, has repeatedly clashed with the police and masked and violent antifa protesters. Members of CasaPound, a political party that proudly claims to admire Mussolini, recently invaded the emergency area of a hospital in Bolzano to protest against homeless "refugees" taking refuge there overnight.

As anti-immigrant backlash intensifies and the antifa-fomented violence worsens, the "progressives" are pointing the finger of blame at Matteo Salvini, the secretary of the League party, and Giorgia Meloni, the leader of the Brothers of Italy, the modern heirs of the party that rose from the ashes of Mussolini’s Fascists. For the coming elections, Mr Salvini and Ms Meloni have joined forces with former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. As of this writing, their coalition is leading in the polls. Stay tuned!

AfD parliamentarian's account blocked for anti-Muslim Tweet

Canada has its M-103 (full title: Motion 103), passed in March 2017 by the ruling Liberal Party in collusion with the pinkish NDP over the objections of the Conservative opposition. The brainchild of a Muslim MP representing a minority majority riding in the so-called Greater Toronto Area, it is (in theory) only a non-binding motion of the Canadian Parliament calling on the federal government to condemn Islamophobia in Canada. It also calls for the collection of data on "hate crimes" and a study on how racism and religious discrimination can be reduced. and collect data on hate crimes.

Although M-103 is only a motion, and doesn't carry the force of law, Canadian governments at all levels and the (((controlled media))) treat it as law requiring censorship of any negative reference to Islam or Muslims, particularly in connection with terrorist attacks or other crimes. This leads to such absurdities as the refusal of Canuck police to identify a man who, last month, walked into a bank in the Toronto suburb of Vaughan, with explosives strapped to his torso, demanding drugs and a telephone call to President Trump. See "Canuck cops cover up terror attack outside Toronto", WWW 15/15/17. The uncle of the now-deceased attacker said the man was an immigrant from Iran, and yes, a follower of the Prophet.

Citizens of more sensible nations [like the Excited States of America? Ed.] may laugh at the self-loathing of Canadians (see Further Reading, below), but the let's-be-nice-to-Muslims-and-maybe-they-won't-kill-us policies of other countries are even worse. Take, for example, Angela Merkel's Germany.

Walt trusts that his readers have not forgotten how, last New Year's and the New Year's before that, gangs of Arab and African yoofs -- Muslim asylum-seekers, "refugees" and other migrants -- rampaged through the streets of Köln (Cologne) and other German cities molesting, robbing and raping Aryan women. This year, die Polizei decided to forestall the expected repetition of the Islamists' demonstrations of appreciation for their hosts' Willkommenskultur by issuing New Year's greetings in Arabic. "Peace on earth" and all that. This expression of brotherly love was met with responses of "Piss on you!" and others too vile to post in Walt's family-oriented blog.

Among those who thought this gesture of of accommodation was unnecessary and ridiculous was Beatrix von Storch, a prominent lawmaker with the nationalist Alternativ für Deutschland (Alternative for Germany) party, who Tweeted, "Do they think they will calm the barbaric, Muslim, group-raping hordes of men this way?"

No good deed goes unpunished, and no politicall incorrect Tweet goes uncensored in the Fatherland. Frau Storch's innocent question resulted in her Twitter account being blocked for several hours yesterday over a suspected breach of rules on hate speech -- Germany's much tougher version of Canada's M-103.

Inspektor Katzenjammer said this morning that his storm troopers ["officers", shurely! Ed.] were filing a criminal complaint to prosecutors over "suspected incitement". He did not say against whom the complaint would be filed. Walt suspects it will be against those who expressed outrage at the barbaric behaviour of the poor mistreated Muslims, not at the Muslims who provoked the outrage. Such is the strange death of European civilization.

How Austrians deal with the Muslim immigrant problem

In "Anti-immigrant Austrian voters won't be denied this time!" (WWW 15/10/17) Walt predicted that the results of that day's general election would come as an unpleasant surprise to the globalist, pro-EU politicians and (((controlled media))) who were saying that Marine Le Pen's defeat in last spring's French presidential election meant that nationalism and anti-immigrant sentiment were on the wane in Europe. They were wrong. I was right! (Lifetime pct .992.)

When the votes were counted, the centre-right, (somewhat) anti-immigrant Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) came first, and my choice, the nationalist, (decidedly) anti-immigrant Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ) came a respectable third. How (I hear some of you ask) can you say you were right? Well, here's what I wrote in the aforementioned post:

[Sebastian] Kurz [the leader of the ÖVP] seems likely to become the next chancellor (= prime minister) of a coalition government in which his party will be joined by... wait for it... the FPÖ! The Social Democrats, who were the junior partners with the ÖVP in the last government, will challenge the FPÖ for second place, but even if they finish second, the ÖVP will have little choice (because of the immigration issue) but to work with the FPÖ, leaving the liberals in opposition.

And so it came to pass that, on the 16th of this month, the new coalition government was announced. Herr Kurz is the Chancellor. The FPÖ, led by Heinz-Christian Strache (pictured) holds the key ministries of defence, foreign affairs and the interior. (For North Americans, the ministry of the interior, in most European governments, is responsible for such things as immigration, internal security and the police.)

The new government plans to act quickly and firmly to deal with the influx of Muslim "refugees" and asylum-seekers and the threatened Islamization of the land of the edelweiss. Here's how.

• Welfare payments to accepted refugees will be cut in half.
• Newcomers will have to hand over any cash and valuables they bring with them. (The Danes already thought of this.)
• Newcomers will also have to waive medical confidentiality, so they can be properly screened for social and other diseases.
• Islamic schools will be monitored more closely, and closed if they break rules or accept foreign funding.
• Sentences for drug and sex crimes will be made stiffer.
• Over 2000 more police will patrol the streets to keep Austrians safe.

And that's only part of the larger picture. Under the new coalition government, Austria is moving steadily to the right, and to closer co-operation with central European governments like those of Hungary and Poland who are pledged to halt or even reverse the Merkelization (read: Islamization or mongrelization) of Europe. Will the AABC countries draw any lessons Austria's vote to remain white and Christian? Let us hope so. Let us pray so!

1000s of Taliban fighters allowed into Germany as "refugees"

Thanks to Angela Merkel's wrong-headed and discredited policy of Willkommenskultur (= Be nice to the poor oppressed Muslims), 1000s of former (?) Taliban fighters may have entered Germany over the past two years among an influx of more than a million "refugees", asylum-seekers and other "migrants". So reports Der Spiegel today, in "Tausende afghanische Flüchtlinge bezichtigen sich selbst als Taliban".

This is not supposition or an educated guess. No less an authority than the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (Bamf) has admitted to security officials that 1000s of migrants had identified themselves as former Taliban insurgents during the asylum application process. The Bamf added that at least 70 Afghan men were being investigated by Germany's chief federal prosecutor, though it was not clear whether all of them were suspected of being active Taliban militants. Six are being held in investigatory detention and preliminary court hearings involving several others are due to start next week, the magazine added.

Chancellor Merkel's government is under fire -- excuse the expression! -- for allowing in so many migrants, especially after several militant attacks which have been linked to people yelling "Allahu akbar!". In response, the government has stepped up the deportation of rejected Afghan asylum seekers. Frau Merkel said that "only" about 55% of Afghans were granted refugee status in Germany, while 45% were turned down. So everything's all right then. Nothing to worry about. Alles is gut!

FOOTNOTE: Not all the Taliban are in Germany. 10 or so of them, disguised in Afghan army uniforms stormed a military compound in the Balkh province of Afghanistan, killing about 10 dozen (120) real Afghan soldiers. The attackers, in two separate military vehicles which they had somehow obtained, told guards at the gates that they were carrying wounded soldiers and therefore immediately needed to enter the site, according to Reuters. "Allahu akbar!" again; German soccer team targeted

Muslims aren't very good at football (= soccer, for North Americans who prefer real football). Their Islamically correct clothes impede mobility, and make it difficult for them to move easily as well. And, because of Angela Merkel's discredited Willkommenskultur policy, Germany is full of anti-Western, anti-soccer, jihadis. So when three (count 'em, 3) bombs exploded beside the bus carrying the Borussia Dortmund soccer team, Walt immediately thought "Ach du lieber! Muslime!" Today comes the confirmation. (Lifetime pct .991.)

German police say the soccer team were on their way to their Champions League quarter-final match against Monaco when three explosive charges, hidden in a hedge, detonated. Not much damage was done. Some of the bus's windows were broken and a couple of tires burst. One player underwent an operation after breaking a bone in his wrist. No other players were hurt, but a police officer on a motorbike escorting the bus was also wounded.

Today, the head of Dortmund police said the attack was targeted. His minions -- zey haf vays of making people talk! -- are investigating a possible Islamic extremist link to the bombing, according to German media. A letter found near the scene cites the Berlin Christmas market attack and denounces German military operations in Syria. Süddeutsche Zeitung said the letter found nearby began with the phrase "In the name of Allah", and mentioned Germany's use of Tornado jets in the coalition forces fighting ISIS. German federal prosecutors, who now have plenty of experience with terror investigations, are taking over the probe.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel called the bombing a "revolting act". Her spokesthingy said, "The Chancellor was, like the people of Dortmund and millions of people everywhere, appalled by the attack on the BVB team bus." He carefully avoided the use of the words "Islamic" or "Muslim" or "terrorist". Another coat of whitewash is expected soon.
