New Danish law: refugees will no longer become immigrants!

As Walt told you in "Why the Danes are the happiest people in the world" (WWW 17/3/16), the blonde, blue-eyed people of Denmark have, almost alone among western Europeans, discouraged dark, brown-eyed "refugees" from the shithole countries from entering their little country. There are many more cows than asylum-seekers in Denmark, and the Danes like it that way. That's why they're happy!

The Danes are much happier than their neighbours to the south -- the Germans -- who have been forced by the barking mad Angela Merkel to accept nearly two million asylum-seekers, who are now settling in nicely, apart from a few terrorist attacks, mass rapes, patrols of Sharia law police. Having got their noses in the German tent, the "refugees" now intend to get all of themselves in... forever... leaving real Germans in the minority. Although there are only a few thousand migrants in Denmark, the prospect of the same thing happening in their country is starting to worry the Danes.

To keep Denmark for the Danes, the country's government, with the assistance of the right-wing Danish People's Party and (surprisingly) the Social Democrats, has passed a law which is described as a "paradigm shift" in Danish refugee and asylum policy. Under the new policy, refugees should be sent home when conditions in their countries of origin are deemed safe enough. The integration allowance -- a financial handout to the newcomers -- will be reduced, and opportunities for them to bring their large families for "family re-unions" will be further limited. As well, residence permits will become temporary as the default, and it will become easier for the government to withdraw or not extend them.

As Danish Finance Minister Kristian Jensen put it, Denmark will no longer have a system where "refugees become immigrants." The new legislation is aimed at drastically reducing the number of refugees who stay in Denmark indefinitely by shifting the focus from integration of refugees to sending them back to their home shitholes. The message to immigrant wannabes is clear: Don't get too comfortable here; you're not going to be staying long!

Immigration and Integration Minister Inger Støjberg of the centrist Venstre party stressed that it is yet to be seen how many refugees will be sent home as a result of the new legislation, but promised a concrete effect. The bill was backed by the right-wing anti-immigrant Danish People's Party, as well as Denmark's largest opposition party, the Social Democrats, who previously criticised parts of it, such as the reduction of social welfare benefits for people who have been granted asylum. The socialists' immigration spokesthingy said he supported the general shift towards a temporary status for all refugees.

VIDEO: Poland won't take Muslim illegal migrants - "Not even one!"

Channel 4 is a British "public-service" television broadcaster that joined the lamestream media in 1982. Although largely commercially self-funded, it is ultimately publicly owned, so, like PBS, slavishly follows the liberal progressive party line. Populism bad; Trump bad; racism bad. Merkel good; refugees good; multiculturalism wonderful!

One of Channel 4's featured propaganda pieces stars presenter Cathy Newman, who became famous a few months ago for a train-wreck interview with Canadian professor Jordan Peterson, who set her straight about what he (and real conservatives) believe.

A few days ago, Ms Newman interviewed Polish legislator Dominik Tarczyński on the subject of Europe's migrant crisis. Ms Newman called Mr Tarczyński a racist -- what else? -- for being happy that his government has refused to take a single illegal migrant, which is what his Law and Justice Party (Pis) promised before recent elections.

The Channel 4 presenter demanded to know how many "refugees" Poland had taken, to which Mr Tarczyński replied, "Zero."
"And you’re proud of that?" queried the obviously "triggered" interviewer.
"If you are asking me about Muslim illegal immigrants, none, not even one, will come to Poland," replied the adamant solon. "We took over two million Ukrainians — who are working, who are peaceful — in Poland. We will not receive even one Muslim, because this is what we promised.... This is why our government was elected; this is why Poland is so safe, this is why we have not had even one terror attack!"

Here's the video. As you watch, ask yourself who's smarter -- the Poles and President Trump or the leaders of western Europe and Canuckistan. Stupid question!

French ambassador to Hungary speaks truth about Orbán, Muslims, risks firing

According to the BFMTV website, Emmanuel Macron, the diminutive president of the French Republic, has his hair on fire over a confidential note from Eric Fournier, the French ambassador to Hungary, which has mysteriously been leaked to the meeja. In a memo to the Élysée Palace (where M Macron lives with his motherly spouse), M Fournier praised the migrant policies of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, calling him a "model for Europe".

M Fournier described the Hungarian migration policy as "having anticipated the problems posed by illegal migratory movements", and excoriated "Anglo-Saxon and French media", saying, "Any democratically elected regime that does not correspond to their worldview [is called] 'populist'." That, of course, is the latest term of opprobrium used to describe the policies of leaders like Donald Trump and Doug Ford. Why? Because, to the surprise of the gliberals, "populist" policies have proven themselves popular!

In the note, which was copied to top officials of the European Union, Ambassador Fournier condemned what he called the "Magyarphobie" [Hungarian-phobia] of many western European politicians. And he defended the Hungarian government against allegations of anti-Semitism, saying that the "true modern anti-Semitism" belongs to "Muslims of France and Germany."

When the French broadcaster approached Président Macron for comment on the leaked note, he slammed his ambassador, saying, "In no way do I share the words that you just mentioned and that you have revealed." He added that if such comments had been made in public the situation would be very different. "Cet ambassadeur aurait-il tenu publiquement ces propos," he said, "il aurait été révoqué sur le champ." Translated, he meant that M Fournier would have found himself back in Paris, up to his neck in what the French call dou-dou.

Swedes to raise retirement age to pay for welfare for "refugees"

One of the Big Lies that the human rights and pro-migration industries tell you is that bringing in hundreds of thousands of immigrants is good for the economy. They will be working, they say, and buying stuff, and paying taxes, and the economic benefits far outweigh the initial costs of bringing them to our countries and looking after them while they "adjust".

Walt calls BS on that one, and, as proof of the lunacy of the claim that mass immigration is a wonderful opportunity, passes on a report from Expressen that the increasing costs of population growth in Sweden -- driven almost entirely mass immigration -- have forced the government to seriously consider raising the national retirement age to pay for the additional costs.

The Swedish newspaper says that Magdalena Andersson, the finance minister of the country's socialist government, announced in October that the retirement age would likely be raised in the near future in order to offset increased welfare costs. "Looking at those who start working at 30, there should be opportunities to work longer than 65." she said. "Opportunities to work..." Dontcha love it? Forget about freedom at 55 or even freedom at 65. Stay in your cubicle for a few more years, while those who the Muslim-loving socialist SJWs have invited into your country continue to live in the houses and eat the meals which you have so graciously provided.

Ms Andersson made her helpful suggestion following an economic report from Sweden's Local Authorities and County Council released earlier. According to that organization, because of the dramatic rise of Sweden's population, the welfare state would grow faster than revenue obtained through taxation. The rise in population is not due to a sudden desire by native-born Swedes to breed litters of blonde, blue-eyed offspring, but to the influx of mostly Muslim immigrants, who do not believe in birth control and who outbreed Swedes by a ratio of 4 or 5 to 1. Some Swedish cities, like the southern city of Malmö, owe their population growth almost entirely to mass migration from the sandpits of the Middle East.

While the 1000s of "refugees", asylum-seekers and economic migrants are increasing the cost of the Swedish welfare state in terms of added infrastructure and cost for services, many are unemployed and directly on welfare. A recent report showed that while the native Swedish unemployment rate was just under 4%, the figure for Swedish residents from foreign backgrounds stood at almost 22%.

Prof. Jan Tullberg of Stockholm University did some math. Based on welfare and housing costs, education costs and other factors, he calculated that the one-year cost of the migrant crisis for the Swedish taxpayer could amount to as much as 600 billion Swedish Kronor -- over 70 billion dollars in real money. That's enough to pay for the national armed forces for the next 14 years.

Comparable figures from the AABC countries (America, Australia, Britain and Canada) were not immediately available to Walt's research team. [That would be me. Ed.] We would like to know, from our political "leaders", how much longer we will be expected to keep working to fund the Welcome Wagon for our new (shudder) neighbours.

Footnote: Speaking of Malmö, just a few days ago I posted "Followers of "the religion of peace" express their opinions on American recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital... in Sweden!" (WWW 11/15/17) which contained a video showing a crowd of Islamofascists in that city protesting the announcement by POTUS that the US of A formally recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. They were chanting anti-Semitic slogans and warning that "Jews should remember that the army of Muhammad will return." The video has since been removed by YouTube, presumably so as not to fan the flames of Islamophobia. So much for free speech on the Internet!

Anti-immigrant backlash grows across Europe

While I was away [Watch this space for "Tales from Down East". Ed.], Agent 17 sent along the link to "'Enlightenment values': Austria enacts anti-burqa & compulsory integration law", RT News 9/6/17. "Enlightenment values" strikes me as a good phrase. What are those values? They must be the "values" -- a loaded word for the progressive do-good wienies -- which "enlightened" people share and hold dear. "Enlightened" is nowadays equated, quite properly, with the word "civilized". (See the article in the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.)

Enlightened civilization -- European civilization -- is under threat now as never before from the hordes of unenlightened -- read Muslim -- invaders pouring into Europe from the Middle East and North Africa. Even such famously tolerant peoples as the Swedes and the Austrians are getting tired of it, and fearful of being drowned in the wave of Islamization sweeping across the continent. That's what the article is about.

Like King Canute trying to turn back the tide, the Austrian parliament has passed a law that will fine women who wear Islamic dress covering the whole face, and takes away welfare benefits from immigrants who fail to learn the language. It says, remarkably frankly, that "those who are not prepared to accept Enlightenment values will have to leave our country and society."

According to the law, women will face a fine of €150 ($168 in real money) if they wear Islamic dress, either the niqab or the burqa, in public places. In addition to the fines, all new migrants -- even the "refugees" and asylum-seekers -- coming to Austria will now be forced, if they want to suck on the public tit [receive welfare benefits, surely! Ed.] to take a 12-month "integration course" that includes German language lessons.

But wait (as Vince Offer used to say), there's more! The new law also makes it illegal for newcomers to distribute "incendiary materials". Migrants will also be encouraged to volunteer -- do unpaid community work -- to prepare them for life in the workplace, before acquiring permanent work permits. Good luck with that one.

Austria's latest attempt to integrate new immigrants has come in response to the migrant crisis rocking most European countries. At least 90,000 migrants, mostly from Muslim-majority countries outside Europe, have arrived in Austria since 2015. Nothing like the hundreds of thousands who've entered Germany, but still you have to hand it to the Austrians for trying to do something about the problem before it's too late. Oh... wait....

Meanwhile... Virginia Raggi, the Mayor of Rome, has asked the Italian government to stop the flow of immigrants into the Eternal City. Here's why.

This is one of several "camps" -- read "instant slums" -- which have sprung up in Rome. The unenlightened people who live here in squalor are Roma. That's the PC name for "gypsies", the people our mothers warned us would pick our pockets, steal our horses and kidnap our children. They do do those things, except maybe for the horses, of which there's a dearth in Rome, which is why, this past Tuesday, Sra Raggi asked the Italian interior ministry to suspend migrant arrivals to the capital. "I find it impossible, as well as risky," she wrote, "to think up further accommodation structures." See

Mayor Raggi cited as reasons for the request the "strong migratory presence" in the capital and "the continued influx of foreign citizens". According to the most recent figures published by the administration, on 1 January 2016 -- nearly 18 months ago -- there were approximately 364,632 foreigners living in Rome, almost 13% of the total population.

Across Italy as a whole [Ed., please check spelling] around 8.3% of the population is foreign. In Rome, around half of the foreign population were from Europe, with Romanians -- gypsies -- making up 23.2% of the total. Although over half the 170,000 or so Roma in Italy are Italian citizens with regular jobs and houses, attacks on the ousiders are common. According to a 2015 Pew Research Centre survey, anti-Roma sentiment is significantly stronger in Italy than almost any other European country. Not hard to understand, is it?

"Pas de migrants dans nos villages!"

Here's a little photo essay -- two pix that tell a story that politically correct politicians refuse to hear.

French villagers are protesting the arrival of migrants who are being dispersed around the country as the government shuts down the slum-like camp in Calais that has become a flashpoint in Europe's migrant crisis.

Yesterday, the mayor of Pierrefeu -- a village in southeastern France -- led several hundred people [Possibly the majority of local residents, from the looks of it! Ed.] into the street to protest a proposal of the socialist government of (((François Hollande))) to house "migrants" (read: "refugees") in an abandoned wing of a psychiatric hospital while they apply for asylum or study other options, such as figuring out how to get to Britain or Germany.

The banner reads "Pierrefeu says no to the creation of a reception centre for migrants". Another banner says simply "Pas de migrants dans nos villages!", which Walt thinks needs no translation.

Why do the good burghers of Pierrefeu (and every other village, town and city in France) feel that way? Take a look at this.

This is a picture -- not the worst one to be revealed by a simple Google search -- of the "migrant" camp in Calais, just across the English Channel from Old Blighty. President Hollande has promised that this camp will be dismantled by the end of this year. But the asylum-seekers have to go somewhere, so spread them around France like Nutella on a baguette and hope that they won't be so noticeable and so unwelcome. Unfortunately for M le Président, his people noticed!

Absentee votes deny Freedom Party victory in Austrian election

The final results from Austria's presidential election are now in. With Austrian voters apparently sick and tired of the centre-left coalitions that governed the country for two generations, the hard-fought campaign pitted the right-wing populist Freedom Party (FPO) against (believe it or not) the Green Party. It was like watching Donald Trump vs Bernie Sanders, but in German of course.

The Freedom Party campaigned on an "anti" platform -- anti-immigration, anti-Muslim (although they don't say so as directly as does The Donald), and -- very significantly -- anti-European Union, which is to say they're against the One Rainbow World Agenda. The Greens? Well, they're for all the rainbows and unicorns, alternative energy, Willkommenskultur and the brotherhood of man. [Ed., can I still say "brotherhood of man"?]

A key campaign issue was Europe's migrant crisis, which has seen the number of mostly Muslim asylum-seekers and "refugees" soar into the millions. Unlike their German kith and kin, Austrians have been decidedly unwelcoming to the Muslim hordes. Although only 90,000 or so people claimed asylum in Austria last year, that's equivalent to about 1% of the country's population, and many Austrians -- the majority, apparently -- feel that enough is enough!

As of last night, the Freedom Party's presidential candidate, Norbert Hofer, was leading the Greens' Alexander Van der Bellen by 51.9% to 48.1%. The actual margin was 144,006 votes, but there are some 750,000 postal ballots yet to be counted. Projections indicate the postal votes could favour Herr Van der Bellen, and sure enough, the final tally showed Herr Hofer with 49.7% of the vote and Herr Van der Bellen the president-elect, with 50.3%. The difference is only a little more than 31,000 votes out of more than 4.6 million ballots cast.

If Norbert Hofer had won, he would have been the first "far-right" head of state in the European Union. The implications -- not just for Austria but for all of Europe -- of the FPO's very narrow loss are enormous! Although the "antis" lost a close one, the result still adds momentum to the surge in support for populist and far-right parties in other European countries. As well, it gives impetus as well to the "Quit Europe" side in the UK "Brexit" referendum, coming next month. The forces of "progress and enlightenment" are more nervous now than ever... and rightly so!
