True Facts Dept.: There are no more gypsy moths in Canada

If you live in, say, Oscoda County MI, and wake up to see one of the trees in your yard looking like this

what would you do? What would you do?! Why, call the Oscoda County Gypsy Moth Program, of course. They are conveniently located at 311 Morenci Ave, in beautiful downtown Mio MI [pronounced My-O-My? Ed.] and will come and raid the disgusting gypsy moths, to kill `em dead!

If, however, you live a few hundred miles to the east, on the other side of the World's Longest Uncontrolled Border, at the west end of Lake Ontario, your search for help with pest control will be fruitless. Unless, that is, you say you have an infestation of "spongy moths". Not "gypsy moths".

Officially, there are no gypsy moths in the Canada of King Justin the Woke. No more "gypsies" either. The word "gypsy" is offensive to the Roma people [not to be confused with "Romans". Ed.], so the decades-old Toronto police "gypsy squad" has been disbanded, and the other parasites, pictured, have been renamed.

This week, the City of Hamilton ON and the nearby Royal Botanical Gardens started an aerial spray to reduce the population of spongy moths in areas that are out of control. Spongy moths are an invasive species that feed on tree leaves and in some cases evergreen needles. They are controllable with a pesticide called BTK, which doesn’t fully remove the caterpillars, just regulates the population.

Private citizens can buy BTK at stores. Be sure to ask for it by name, so you don't get gypped buying an inferior product.

Anti-immigrant backlash grows across Europe

While I was away [Watch this space for "Tales from Down East". Ed.], Agent 17 sent along the link to "'Enlightenment values': Austria enacts anti-burqa & compulsory integration law", RT News 9/6/17. "Enlightenment values" strikes me as a good phrase. What are those values? They must be the "values" -- a loaded word for the progressive do-good wienies -- which "enlightened" people share and hold dear. "Enlightened" is nowadays equated, quite properly, with the word "civilized". (See the article in the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.)

Enlightened civilization -- European civilization -- is under threat now as never before from the hordes of unenlightened -- read Muslim -- invaders pouring into Europe from the Middle East and North Africa. Even such famously tolerant peoples as the Swedes and the Austrians are getting tired of it, and fearful of being drowned in the wave of Islamization sweeping across the continent. That's what the article is about.

Like King Canute trying to turn back the tide, the Austrian parliament has passed a law that will fine women who wear Islamic dress covering the whole face, and takes away welfare benefits from immigrants who fail to learn the language. It says, remarkably frankly, that "those who are not prepared to accept Enlightenment values will have to leave our country and society."

According to the law, women will face a fine of €150 ($168 in real money) if they wear Islamic dress, either the niqab or the burqa, in public places. In addition to the fines, all new migrants -- even the "refugees" and asylum-seekers -- coming to Austria will now be forced, if they want to suck on the public tit [receive welfare benefits, surely! Ed.] to take a 12-month "integration course" that includes German language lessons.

But wait (as Vince Offer used to say), there's more! The new law also makes it illegal for newcomers to distribute "incendiary materials". Migrants will also be encouraged to volunteer -- do unpaid community work -- to prepare them for life in the workplace, before acquiring permanent work permits. Good luck with that one.

Austria's latest attempt to integrate new immigrants has come in response to the migrant crisis rocking most European countries. At least 90,000 migrants, mostly from Muslim-majority countries outside Europe, have arrived in Austria since 2015. Nothing like the hundreds of thousands who've entered Germany, but still you have to hand it to the Austrians for trying to do something about the problem before it's too late. Oh... wait....

Meanwhile... Virginia Raggi, the Mayor of Rome, has asked the Italian government to stop the flow of immigrants into the Eternal City. Here's why.

This is one of several "camps" -- read "instant slums" -- which have sprung up in Rome. The unenlightened people who live here in squalor are Roma. That's the PC name for "gypsies", the people our mothers warned us would pick our pockets, steal our horses and kidnap our children. They do do those things, except maybe for the horses, of which there's a dearth in Rome, which is why, this past Tuesday, Sra Raggi asked the Italian interior ministry to suspend migrant arrivals to the capital. "I find it impossible, as well as risky," she wrote, "to think up further accommodation structures." See

Mayor Raggi cited as reasons for the request the "strong migratory presence" in the capital and "the continued influx of foreign citizens". According to the most recent figures published by the administration, on 1 January 2016 -- nearly 18 months ago -- there were approximately 364,632 foreigners living in Rome, almost 13% of the total population.

Across Italy as a whole [Ed., please check spelling] around 8.3% of the population is foreign. In Rome, around half of the foreign population were from Europe, with Romanians -- gypsies -- making up 23.2% of the total. Although over half the 170,000 or so Roma in Italy are Italian citizens with regular jobs and houses, attacks on the ousiders are common. According to a 2015 Pew Research Centre survey, anti-Roma sentiment is significantly stronger in Italy than almost any other European country. Not hard to understand, is it?

Wikileaks reveals what Hellery REALLY thinks of blacks and Muslims

Just in time for tonight's debate, here it is... the one we've been waiting for. Back in the summer, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has said that more of Mrs Bill Clinton's e-mails -- the ones she didn't erase -- would be released in the weeks leading up to the November 8th election for POTUS.

Walt has been waiting with bated breath for the "October surprise", and this e-mail from Shrillery to her campaign chairman, John Podesta, could be the game-changer. (Mr Podesta, by the way, once served as Chief of Staff to former President and First Gentleman wannabe Bill Clinton.) See for yourself what Mrs Clinton really thinks about blacks, Muslims and "Roma" (the PC term for gypsies).

In case you had trouble reading the message from this screen shot, it says, "The main reason behind successful immigration should be painfully obvious to even the most dimwitted of observers: Some groups of people are almost always highly successful given only half a chance (Jews*, Hindus/Sikhs and Chinese people, for example), while others (Muslims, blacks** and Roma***, for instance) fare badly almost irrespective of circumstances."

Hellery goes on to label blacks and Muslims "professional never-do-wells". Now, you may agree with that characterization, but that doesn't mean that you should stampede to the polls and vote for Mrs Clinton. What she says to Mr Podesta is completely at odds with what she says from the public platform as she sucks up to every minority in sight. La Clinton is not just a consummate liar, but an out-and-out hypocrite. Oh... guess that's not really the October surprise after all.

Feedback on the Islamization of Paris (29/9)

A friend of Agent 17's writes from somewhere in western Europe (is all quiet on the Front?) to suggest that the video from CBN be taken cum grano salis. Here's his comment:

I think you will need a good dose of salt. I watch the French news (TeleFrance 1) at least five times a week. I have not seen a thing about muslims blocking streets to pray. I think they settled the burqa law a few months ago, as did Belgium which banned it in public places like schools. On the other hand there has been daily updates on what Sarkozy has been doing for the last few weeks, which is to ship Roma (gypsies) back to Romania. This seems widely supported in France but the EU justice minister came down hard on Sarkozy.

There was quite a spirited exchange a week ago between Sarkozy and the justice minister and Sarkozy and the head of the EU (the Portuguese guy whose name I can't remember at the moment). Sarkozy says there is nothing illegal about what he is doing as the people are returning to Romania of their own free will. He has been giving each person 300 euros to help them make that decision a bit easier.

Walt says... The secular media, which includes TeleFrance 1, do not always report matters of concern to or attacks on the Christian Faith. CBN (the Christian Broadcasting Network) is what its name says. It's possible the events shown in the video happened as and where shown -- looks like France to me -- but only CBN thought it worth of reportage.

La France à M. Dosanjh: Mange de la merde!

To continue the theme of yesterday's post, let's be clear about why France, the home of liberty, equality and fraternity, is expelling the Roma. The gypsies are not big on the fraternity part.

In France (and everywhere the "travellers" go), they do not even try to integrate with the host society. They live in tents or wagons, in camps of horrific filth and squalor. They do not work, preferring to live on state benefits, if possible, supplemented by stealing and other illegal pursuits.

The French just got tired of having the Romas on their soil and trying, unsuccessfully, to deal with them. What do you do with people who have no will to integrate, work, have a business, or otherwise adhere to the values of the majority? So the French said, either try to be good citizens or go back where you came from. Very refreshing in this age of political correctness, no?

Entrez (as in "go into France") Monsieur Ujjal Dosanjh. He is not French. [What part of Ireland is he from, then? ed.] He is not Irish either! He is Indo-Canadian, and a very visible minority too, for he is a member of Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition in the Parliament of Canada.

Rather than attending to the nation's business in Ottawa, Mr. Dosanjh has embarked on a one-man fact-finding mission to France, to investigate that country's treatment of the Roma.

Does he have an open mind? Well, errrr...not exactly. Before actually visiting any gypsy camps or meeting any gypsy kings or queens, Mr. Dosanjh stated that expelling the Roma from France is "not a solution to that European problem".

He went on to say “I think France is dealing with this situation in a very un-French way. France is the home of liberty, equality and fraternity and this is absolutely antithetical to that.... They are doing it for purely political purposes. I believe it’s wrong for any government to target already marginalized people for just some political trolling.”

The French have so far been restrained in their response to the Hindu chap's remarks. They have not yet asked him how he would deal with the situation. Would he, for instance, suggest putting all the gypsies on a boat and shipping them out to Vancouver? All the more Liberal votes for the Lower Mainland!

British Columbians must be thanking their God (or gods) that Mr. Dossanjh and his party are not in power. Meanwhile, the French are probably wishing that Mr. D., like the gypsies, would just go home.

Those damn racist French!

Amazing! This goes down in the history of the 21st century as the summer when the French -- leaders of the great enlightenment of the 19th century -- decided the national motto of "Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité" needed a rethink.

Political correctness be damned. We are not all equal. As for the brotherhood (and sisterhood?) of man...forget it!

In August the French became the first European nation to do what all the rest secretly wished they could do. They told the Roma -- the people our mothers called "gypsies" -- to go home to Romania. The European Union decried the expulsion of these poor downtrodden parasites [refugees, surely! ed.] as barbaric and (of course) racist.

Now the French senate, by a pretty convincing majority -- 246 to 1 -- has voted to ban the burqa, the complete head-to-toe covering made fashionable by Middle Eastern Muslim women. The measure had been passed, almost as overwhelmingly, by the lower House of Assembly in July.

How does this square with the idea of fraternity and the brotherhood of man? The French are justly famous for their ability to torture logic and philosophy. Here is the rationale of those behind the measure.

The wearing of the burqa symbolizes one's religious faith, they say, and sets wearers apart as being different from other Frenchwomen. Therefore it is a threat to France's unique values, including its secular foundation and a notion of fraternity that is contrary to those who hide their faces.

Hm. What about the USA and Canada? Aren't we supposed to be secular nations? In Canada the liberals even succeeded in getting all references to God removed from the constitution, if not the national anthem. In the USA, church and state are supposed to be strictly separate.

Both countries also proclaim their belief in the principle of national unity. (OK, maybe not Canada.) My point is that the argument for the banning of the burqa could be applied to the USA and Canada as easily as France. But of course that would make us, like the French, racists and haters. If you don't believe me, just wait for the editorials in the Times and the Globe and Mail.

Uighurs, Gypsies and Mexicans -- what's the difference?

Agent 78 takes me task for having written disapprovingly of the Chinese treatment of Uighur refugees (see previous articles) who she says are, after all, Chinese citizens and "splittists" who want to separate their homeland from the glorious Chinese People's s Republic. (The "treatment" involves the sudden injection of rather large pieces of lead.)

She makes the point that Canada has just announced that it is going to step up the deportation of refugees -- notably gypsies and Mexicans -- to the place from which they came. I've written about this recently too. So what's the difference, she asks?

In the first place, those Canada is deporting are not true refugees, according to the Geneva convention, at all. They are not seeking political asylum, for politics has nothing to do with the reasons why they left Mexico or the Czech republic or wherever. 99% of them are economic migrants, seeking to get their noses in the huge trough that is the Canadian welfare system. That's all.

Secondly, the refugees being deported from Canada are not Canadians. They are being sent back to their countries of origin. As my earlier post today explains, the Uighurs are being returned to the country (China) in which they were born. They are Chinese citizens, even though they may not like being so. China has already executed dozens of what it says are its own citizens, and will likely deal with these returnees in the same way.

Which brings us to the final point. The few "refugees" who Canada succeeds in deporting to Mexico or Jamaica or Nigeria or wherever do not face being deprived of not only their liberty but their lives. So far as we know, not one deportee from Canada has been executed by their country of origin.

Please dear readers keep these things in mind as you ready about the US and Canadian governments cozying up to China...in the interests of better relations and improving the balance-of-trade figures of course. I'd ask you to boycott Chinese-made goods but you'd die, starving and naked. Beats dying at the wrong end of a rifle though.

Canada finally closing her legs

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) released its annual report on Friday. Canadians used to seeing the numbers of refugees and asylum-seekers go up and up and up will welcome the news that the number of refugees actually granted asylum in Canada dropped dramatically in the latest reporting year.

Successful claims by refugees already in Canada fell to less than half of what it was under the Gliberals. Give Mr. Harpoon full marks on this one. The new stats show the impact of his government's efforts to overhaul Canada's immigration system [is dis a system? ed.] at long last.

This past summer the government imposed visa restrictions on Czechs and Mexicans as part of a broader attempt to block bogus refugee claims filed from within Canada. A spokesman, Alykhan Velshi [what part of Ireland is he from? ed.] noted that Mexico was the top source of asylum claims in 2008, yet the Immigration and Refugee Board rejected 90% of those claims.

As for the Czechs, the real target there is gypsies, or "Roma" as they prefer to be called now. Problems with these people, whose nomadic "culture" rejects honesty, education and even cleanliness, have already been noted in Toronto schools and social housing.

Predictably, the bleeding-heart liberals have already complained that Canada is shirking her responsibility to take in everyone and everything in the world. (Back in the dark ages before WWII expressions like "the scum of the earth" were used, but of course no-one would dare use such a phrase now.)

The likes of NDP MP Olivia Chow and "Dame" Janet Dench, head of a self-appointed watchdog group known as the Canadian Council for Refugees, say the numbers show a lack of compassion and a potential disregard of the government's obligations under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Says Dame Dench, "It's a very bleak, bleak picture for refugees and Canadians that [sic] care about refugees." All two dozen of them.

CIC's report shows the projected number of refugees who will be accepted from within Canada will remain near the lower 2008 levels both this year and next. Mr. Velshi said the report's projections do not take into account the immigration minister's plans for a new system that will weed out “bogus” claims made in Canada more quickly while still respecting the Charter.

“Clearly our system is being abused,” Mr. Velshi said. “[The minister] plans to reform our asylum system.” Not before time!
