VIDEO: The art of carefully balancing your diet

Meet Zhou Baizhou, the leading proponent of the Chinese system of balancing one's diet. It's like yin and yang. A little of this, a little of that, then repeat. Do this and you will lead a long and healthy life.

I went to visit my own doctor -- Jack Daniels is his name -- and he told me that if I followed this diet I will live to 60. "I'm already 60!", I told him. "See?" he said, "What'd I tell ya!"

Thanks and a tip o' the toque to Agent 6, who has his snow tires on, I hope.

"Me want skool!" is good enough for the Toronto District School Board

The Toronto District School Board (hereinafter "TDSB") is the wokest in the fairyland of Canuckistan. And in a country which includes such hotbeds of wokeism as the Waterloo Region District School Board which forbids any discussion of gender ideology, pronouns or sex change operations * [Isn't there a more PC name for that? Ed.], that's really saying something.

The TDSB is not only the wokest in the land, but the biggest. Its catchment area encompasses numerous "ethnic" neighbourhoods, including Little India, the notorious Jane-Finch `hood, and a part of Scarborough which, to look at it, is majority Chinese... and so it is.

The ultra-progressive TDSB is all in favour of DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) of course. As Mr Socks sez, "Diversity is our strength!" (Cue guffaws from most Canadians. See "Shocking news: Majority of Canucks think diversity is causing problems!", WWW 25/11/23. To serve various diverse sections of the community, the Board has established several dozen Central Student Interest Programmes (CSIP), both at the secondary (opens in a new tab)and elementary (opens in a new tab)level, including those specializing in arts, athletics, science, math and many others.

But it seems some groups need a little more equity than others. According to the TDSB website, 20% per cent of the spaces in CSIP are reserved for students who are Black, Indigenous, Latin American and Middle Eastern, while 50% cent of the spaces in math, science and technology programmes are for students self-identifying as female.

That doesn't sit well with the Chinese community (or the south Asians, for that matter), who, along with the "old stock Canadians" (read: palefaces), are regarded as "privileged", thus not deserving of extra help. Trustee Weidong Pei of Ward 12, Willowdale, told CTV News Toronto the policy doesn't address the socio-economic barriers standing in the way of enriched education, but instead creates more division in schools and waters down talent.

What to do? The performance-based process of entry, which had been criticized for "favouring students from wealthier families" (read: racist!) had to go. So, in 2022, the Board trustees voted to move away from a model that only accepts those with demonstrated strength and/or ability, by removing all tests, exams, auditions and grade-entry requirements from CSIP applications.

In came the new, woker, "interest-based model", which is now "under review". Trustee James Li of Ward 13, Don Valley North,  told CTV, "When we implemented the program in 2023, we didn't ask the students to prove or demonstrate anything. We only asked the students to write their name down, which was disappointing." Now, he continued, "We expect them to demonstrate that they're interested in [an enriched programme] to the point where they want to go above and beyond the curriculum, and they're ready and willing to work towards it.”

Mr Pei calls the expression of interest requirement "meaningless". "The formal expression of interest is not being evaluated. An entry consisting of 'Me want skool' is given the same weight as a student filming themselves playing 'Flight of the Bumblebee' on the tuba!

"Everybody I know, including me, is concerned about socio-economic barriers, but the policies don’t adjust for socio-economics, they use self-identified race as a proxy for socio-economics. The average Asian family's income at TDSB is below the overall average of TDSB families, and South Asians' incomes are even lower. Yet Asian families are considered a privileged group."

Ah so... but Messrs Pei and Li should know that in Emperor Justin's Canada, affirmative action (read: reverse racism) is the New Equity. So let it be preached. So let it be done.

VIDEO: "Made in China" - maybe you have to be Chinese to geddit?

Agent 6 sent this hilarious stand-up comedy clip, an audition for Australia's Got Talent. Spoiler alert! The comedienne's name is He Huang.

Agent 78 assures us that He speaks the truth! But do you geddit? 78 always tells me, "You wouldn't understand. You're not Chinese!"

What Samantha Bee's name means to the Chinese

Today's Big News Story: Yesterday, on the minimally-rated TBS programme Full Frontal, host Samantha Bee slammed the Trump administration over separating children from their families at the border and urged Ivanka Trump "do something about your dad's immigration practices you feckless c*nt."

Walt can't think of any country other than the Excited States of America where such an utterance would stir up such a sh*tstorm of controversy -- a veritable tempest in a p***pot. On the other hand, I can't think of another country where such trash talk passes for political comment.

Lest we be accused of quoting Ms Bee out of context, here's a longer version of her witty remarks. "Ivanka Trump, who works at the White House, chose to post the second most oblivious tweet we've seen this week. You know, Ivanka, that's a beautiful photo of you and your child, but let me just say, one mother to another, do something about your dad's immigration practices, you feckless c*nt. He listens to you. Put on something tight and low-cut and tell your father to fucking stop it. Tell him it was an Obama thing and see how it goes, OK?"

TBS, a Turner Broadcasting System Inc. company, is owned by Time Warner Inc. None of the three entities has as yet offered an apology to POTUS or his daughter or to the general public who (one hopes) are getting tired of celebrities screaming four-letter words and other obscenities at overy opportunity, just to show that they're "real folks".

Agent 78 tells us the screamer herself might well be referred to as a "c*nt", since her name, in Mandarin Chinese (= "bi", first tone), means... well... one of the meanings is the slang word for... errr... the part of the female anatomy illustrated in the eye-catching auto paint job shown here. Now you know. You're welcome.

VIDEO: 余婷婷 (Queenie Yu) speaks against Liberal pro-queer policies

Earlier today Walt posted "Jordan Peterson talks with Tanya Granic Allen & Queenie Yu", the full version (still only 7:47) of a 2017 interview of University of Toronto Professor Jordan Peterson by Tanya Granic Allen and her colleague at Parents As First Educators, Queenie Yu. The subject is Ontario's perverted sex education curriculum and gender ideology.

Tanya Granic Allen is a candidate for the leadership of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario. Queenie Yu (余婷婷) is her colleague at Parents as First Educators (PAFE), a social conservative activist and, a few months ago, an independent candidate in a Toronto-area by-election. Ms Yu is a strong voice for family values in the Chinese community. At the time of the interview with Dr Peterson, Ms Yu appeared on Fairchild TV to explain her community's opposition to the No-Wynne government's plans to sexualize innocent children. Here's the clip.

The voice of social conservatives needs to be heard, throughout the western world, but especially in Ontario, where a general election will be held on June 8th. If you are a resident of Ontario (only), please click here to contribute to Tanya Granic Allen's campaign. You can also help by supporting Parents As First Educators. Anyone can donate to PAFE, regardless of where they live. You won't get a tax receipt, but you will get a lot of satisfaction from doing your part to stand up for Christian family values. Thank you!

Wikileaks reveals what Hellery REALLY thinks of blacks and Muslims

Just in time for tonight's debate, here it is... the one we've been waiting for. Back in the summer, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has said that more of Mrs Bill Clinton's e-mails -- the ones she didn't erase -- would be released in the weeks leading up to the November 8th election for POTUS.

Walt has been waiting with bated breath for the "October surprise", and this e-mail from Shrillery to her campaign chairman, John Podesta, could be the game-changer. (Mr Podesta, by the way, once served as Chief of Staff to former President and First Gentleman wannabe Bill Clinton.) See for yourself what Mrs Clinton really thinks about blacks, Muslims and "Roma" (the PC term for gypsies).

In case you had trouble reading the message from this screen shot, it says, "The main reason behind successful immigration should be painfully obvious to even the most dimwitted of observers: Some groups of people are almost always highly successful given only half a chance (Jews*, Hindus/Sikhs and Chinese people, for example), while others (Muslims, blacks** and Roma***, for instance) fare badly almost irrespective of circumstances."

Hellery goes on to label blacks and Muslims "professional never-do-wells". Now, you may agree with that characterization, but that doesn't mean that you should stampede to the polls and vote for Mrs Clinton. What she says to Mr Podesta is completely at odds with what she says from the public platform as she sucks up to every minority in sight. La Clinton is not just a consummate liar, but an out-and-out hypocrite. Oh... guess that's not really the October surprise after all.

What happened to MH370: a Chinese theory

A year and five days ago Walt reported that the search for the Malaysian Airlines B777 operating as flight MH370 was being quietly scaled down. Now comes news that the search in the southeast quadrant of the Indian Ocean will come to an end in July, according to Martin Dolan, the chief commissioner of the Australian Transport Safety Bureau. (Christine Negroni, who writes about aviation and travel for Forbes, points out that Mr Dolan will retire on the very same day. What a coincidence.

In "Search Ending For MH370 But Mysteries Grow", Ms Negroni expresses consternation at the selection of the Australians to lead the underwater search for the airplane. Who knows, she asks, what political manoeuvering was going on behind the scenes? And why did the Australians give the contract for the operation to a Dutch company, Fugro World Wide, which had no real record in the search and salvage industry, and no equipment at the time? And how did Fugro get away with not producing any publicly available data for two years?

The answer to those questions may well be, as Walt has suggested more than once, that the Powers That Be didn't want the wreckage of MH370 to be found. If that were so, it would make sense to let innocents and incompetents do the looking. It would make even more sense to point them in the wrong direction, towards a deep part of the Indian Ocean off the west coast of Australia. I'll say it again. They've been looking in the wrong place! If proof is wanted, consider the finding of five (count 'em, 5) pieces of debris, all on the shores of southern Africa and adjacent islands.

So what really happened? What is it that the "authorities" and "experts" don't want the world to know? Agent 78 has walked me through a blog by Chen Guangwen, a Chinese writer, who reckons that both the Americans and the Chinese know the truth of it, but won't tell for reasons which will be apparent momentarily. This is going to take awhile, so stay with me....

It all started (Mr Chen writes) when the Americans pulled out of Afghanistan, leaving behind some highly sophisticated drone software which would enable the user to take over any plane's avionics and fly it by remote control, turning it into a guided missile. That software fell into the hands of the Taliban, who didn't know what to do with it, but did know that it would have enormous value to any country seeking military superiority for whatever reason. So who could they sell it to? The Americans already had the technology. The Russians were enemies. So how about... wait for it... the Chinese?

Mr Chen says that the Taliban, through the agency of its branch in Pakistan (possibly with the connivance of the Pakistani government) sold the lot to the Chinese. But there remained the question of how to get the "black boxes" to China. The solution? Send them via Pakistan to Malaysia -- both countries being sympathetic to Islamic militants -- thence onward to Beijing by... Malaysian Airlines.

Of course! The "black boxes" -- engines of digital sabotage -- were in the cargo hold of MH370! This theory would account as well for the presence on the passenger manifest of several Chinese computer and electronics experts.

Trouble was, it's hard to keep something like this a secret. There are spies everywhere. Chinese spies, Russian spies, British spies, not to mention American spies -- the CIA. Chen Guangwen theorizes that the CIA got wind of the deal and made it a priority to keep the Chinese from getting their hands on the devices. The problem was how to interdict the shipment without admitting that they (the Americans) had not only developed the technology but carelessly let it fall into the hands of a bunch of crazy Muslim extremists?

The answer? Give the invention a trial run, using MH370 as the test vehicle and its passengers as human guinea pigs! It was the American military, then, using an AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System -- my emphasis) plane operating from the American base on Diego Garcia, who caused MH370 to deviate from its flight path and turn to the west-northwest, towards the Maldives, the Andaman Islands (Indian territory) and ultimately Diego Garcia.

If all this sounds vaguely familiar, it's because I wrote something along those lines not a month after MH370 disappeared from the radar screens. See "MH370: Suppose it was a test..." WWW 5/4/14

What happened next (back to Mr Chen now) is that, under the control of the Americans, MH370 landed in the Maldives to refuel and (possibly) some of the pax. (There were a couple of Americans and Israelis on board.) Walt doubts that the plane actually landed, but remembers a report in Paris Match by French author Marc Dugain -- a former CEO of Proteus Airlines -- whose investigation took him to the Maldives, where residents told local media on March 9th (the day the plane disappeared) that they had seen an airliner fly in the direction of Diego Garcia.

"I saw a huge plane fly over us at low altitude," a fisherman on Kudahuvadhoo island told M Dugain. "I saw red and blue stripes on a white background" –- the colours of Malaysia Airlines. Other witnesses confirmed the sighting, but their claims were promptly dismissed by "the authorities". See "MH370 - Just fancy that!"

Mr Chen also thinks that the B777 eventually reached Diegp Garcia, where, he says, the Americans refuelled it, and then flew it -- still by remote control -- to the south, somewhere over the south-western part of the Indian Ocean, where they caused it to plunge into a very deep watery grave. That would account for the five pieces of debris which have washed up on the shores of Réunion, Madagascar and South Africa. What happened to the pax and crew? They, or at least their bodies, were probably still on board when MH370 was sunk.

So there you have it. Except for the part about landing in the Maldives, I find Chen Guangwen's narrative entirely plausible. Will the Chinese and/or the Americans confirm or deny it? Errr, probably not. (Lifetime pct .981.)

VIDEOS: Most racist TV commercials EVER!

This ad, for a Chinese laundry detergent called Qiaobi, has just surfaced on YouTube. You don't need Walt to explain what's going on, do you? Agent 78 translates the final voiceover as "You only need one Qiaobi laundry detergent tablet to make a change."

You can imagine the shouting and whining about racism being heard and read in the lamestream media. But here's the twist. As is well known, the Chinese are not so hot on innovation, but great on copying. The Qiaobi commercial owes a lot -- a lot -- to an ad for an Italian detergent called Coloreria. Have a look.

Your challenge for today: Send us an e-mail explaining, in 25 words or less, why the Chinese commercial is racist and the Italian one isn't! Shome double shtandard shurely!

Fired on the first day at work

Thank God life is not all tragedy. Even when disaster strikes in one place, something funny is happening somewhere else in the world.

And when something bad happens, a good laugh will help to ease the pain. With that in mind, Walt passes on a photo sent to us by Agent 6. (Thank you!)

Here we have a character actor at a Chinese theme park, dressed as Winnie the Pooh.

Sadly, the actor was fired on his first day on the job. Why? Because he (apparently) put on his costume pants front-to-back!

Thank goodness Walt wasn't alive to see this! [Walt Disney, that is. Ed.]

Thanks to Agent 78 for confirming the translation of the caption.

Mainstream media suddenly discover sex-selective abortion is wrong

Live Action has been campaigning against "sex-selective abortions". That's the euphemism for the killing of baby girls in their mothers' wombs. As Walt told you in "Planned Parenthood caught TWICE promoting sex-selective abortion" on June 1st, they've been posting under-cover videos of Planned Parenthood "counsellors" in NY, TX and now AZ telling women how to arrange for the "procedure". "Planned Parenthood" = "planned baby-killing".

Following the lead of the American media [Isn't that always the way? Ed.] Canada's state-owned broadcaster, the CBC, decided to do a little under-cover journalism of its own. They went to visit a number of "recreational ultrasound clinics", where women can go to have a look at the baby inside them. If the baby is old enough -- 14 weeks or older -- it's possible to see his or her genitalia and thus discover the baby's gender.

In theory, the "clinics" should not do the ultrasound on women earlier than the 20th week of pregnancy, after which point an abortion -- if the women didn't want a baby girl, for instance -- would be inadvisable... although, in Canada, not illegal.

In practice, the CBC found, the majority of "clinics" it visited were happy to take the money and do the ultrasound up to six weeks earlier, knowing full well that the purpose was not "entertainment" but to do determine the gender of the baby so baby girls could be got rid of. "Oh, no, madam... you surely don't want another girl!" Click here to read "Fetal gender testing offered at private clinics" and see the video "Unnatural selection".

In the subtitle to the website page, the CBC says its report "raises fears that gender selection happening in Canada". Well, DUUHHH! As the report points out (rather quietly) the women who avail themselves of the "entertainment ultrasounds" have a definite purpose which goes beyond "oh, let's see the cute baby and admire it's tiny hands and feet".

Another point the CBC kind of glosses over, although it's the elephant in the room, is that sex-selective abortions are most prevalent in certain "ethnic communities" in the Toronto and Vancouver areas. Communities of Asian immigrants, to be more specific. To be more specific still, it's done by Chinese, Korean and -- especially -- "south Asian" (Indian, Pakistani, etc) immigrants.

Why do they do this? Don't they know sex-selective abortion is the cold-blooded slaughter of innocents? The CBC says there are "cultural pressures" at play here, so we mustn't make a big deal of it because to do so would be, errr, racist. Besides, the mothers are oppressed by their husbands and in-laws, and are afraid they'll be beaten or burned or (horrors) divorced and sent back to India.

True enough, and very brave of the ultra-PC CBC to say so. But, you may ask, do these women -- and their babies -- not have any protection under the law? Do they have to submit to abortions on their husbands' demand? Is there nowhere they can turn for help? Apparently not. Tomorrow we'll have a comment from a Canadian blogger.

Indo-Canadian doctor decries abortion of female babies

You'd think, wouldn't you, that the killing of babies before birth, simply because they're girls, would be confined to heathen and atheistic cultures like those of India and China. Not so. Although the practice of aborting a fetus discovered by ultrasound tests to be female is not as widespread in Canada as in Asia, thousands of little girls are killed in the Great White North every year.

So says Dr. Rajendra Kale, interim editor-in-chief of the Canadian Medical Association Journal. Immigrants from India and China bring their cultural and religious preference for boys with them, it seems. So when a doctor tells them, following an ultrasound, that they're going to have a girl, their response is "Kill her!"

In today's editorial headed "It's a girl — could be a death sentence" Dr. Kale calls on Canadian doctors to try to halt sex-based abortion. He advocates withholding information about the sex of a child in the womb until 30 weeks' gestation to prevent "an unquestioned abortion" because parents prefer a boy.

Writes Dr. Kale, "Female feticide devalues women completely.... Many couples who have two daughters and no son selectively get rid of female fetuses until they can ensure that their third-born child is a boy."

He calls on the provincial colleges that regulate physicians to rule that health-care professionals should not reveal a baby's sex to any mother-to-be before the 30th week of pregnancy. "Doing so should be deemed contrary to good medical practice," he said. "Such clear direction from regulatory bodies would be the most important step toward curbing female feticide in Canada."

Dr. Kale went on to say, in an interview, said waiting to divulge the sex of the fetus until after the start of the third trimester would still give parents who want to know whether they are having a boy or a girl enough time to prepare their nursery or purchase appropriate clothing.

But the good doctor did not address the question of how to prevent parents bent on destroying female babies to go to American states, such as Maryland or Pennsylvania, where it's still possible to get late-term (or even last-minute) abortions with no questions asked from abortionists like Kermit Gosnell or other "good doctors" like Steven Brigham and Nicola Riley.

As long as abortion remains legal -- anywhere -- parents hell-bent on killing their children will find an abortionist to "help" them. Pray that God will welcome the little souls of the innocent millions who are killed every year, and give His justice to their murderers.

Multiculturalism: a failed experiment?

Let's start with the provocative quote: two paragraphs from "When multiculturalism doesn't work", a long but worthwhile article by Ingrid Peritz and Joe Friesen, in today's Globe and Mail.

As the first generation of Canadians raised under the banner of multiculturalism graduates to positions of power, fissures are emerging in the Canadian mosaic. The proposed law to ban niqabs for those seeking public services in Quebec, the controversy surrounding the so-called honour killing of Muslim teenager Aqsa Parvez, the backlash against Tamil asylum seekers, the arrest of a Canadian-born doctor and Canadian Idol contestant in an alleged Islamist terror plot – all of these raise questions about Canada's nurturing of cultural difference. Even one of Canada's most prominent visible-minority politicians, Ujjal Dosanjh, accuses multiculturalism of allowing Sikh extremism to take root here.

[All of these stories have been mentioned in Walt's blog. Use the search feature to find my comments.]

Our European allies call multiculturalism a failed experiment. Germany, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands and even our Commonwealth cousin Australia have all, to differing degrees, blamed multiculturalism for separating peoples, weakening national cohesion and encouraging Islamic extremism.

Now some observations. Niqabs, hijabs and honour killings have get a lot of press, but there are other serious problems with multiculturalism as found in Canada and (to a lesser degree) the USA.

Item: Most Chinese immigrants hang onto their Chinese or Hong Kong passports. (According to Chinese law, dual citizenship is not allowed, but Chinese law is, shall we say, less than uniformly applied. Westerners dealing with China and the Chinese had better learn at least one word -- guanxi.)

Item: Recent arrivals from non-European countries show a distinct lack of enthusiasm for learning English (or French). And why should they? Everything from ATMs to the police to automated answering machines serve them in their own languages. Cities like Toronto have become modern-day Babels. There are parts of the Greater Toronto Area where an English-speaker can't even read the signs. But at least a linguist can figure out which ghetto he's in.

Item: Speaking of ghettos, ethno-racial segregation is now commonplace. Most North American cities have long had their Chinatowns, Greektowns and Little Italies. But now we have Little Indias being further subdivided into the Tamil village, the Punjabi quarter (hello Sikhdale!) and the commercial section where everyone's name is Patel.

Item: Speaking of the Indian communities (note the plural), let's not ignore "ethnic protection", now becoming evident in such sectors as trucking and transport, which are largely controlled by Punjabi gangs.

Item: Politicians of cities with large "minority" populations have long known the benefits of ethnic segregation. How can a "McCarthy" get elected in an Italian neighbourhood? (Answer: probably better than a "Smythe-Jones".) Would a "Khan" ever be elected in a Sikh ghetto? (Answer: he'd have a Chinaman's chance!)

Item: Segregation continues even in death. A large part of Calgary's Queen's Park Cemetery is now a "Chinese [only] Section". And Toronto has its own Chinese cemeteries. Which just goes to prove that segregation by race, ethnicity, even religion is voluntary.

Since the beginning, we've had separate cemeteries for Catholics and non-Catholics, and separate school systems too in some places. So what? It seems to me the natural human condition to want to be with people who are "like us", even in death. Multiculturalism, especially when enforced, goes against our natural human "hard wiring".

Conclusion:
Multiculturalism is not a recipe for long-term socio-political stability. It is an experiment in social engineering whose all too apparent failure is rooted in a fundamental misunderstanding of human nature.

If the USA and Canada are not to be still further fragmented, our diverse peoples increasingly alienated from one another, we must discard the multicultural model imposed on us by the liberal elites. It's time to revisit the old concept of the melting pot, where people try to become unhyphenated Americans and Canadians.

As for immigration -- now that debate on the subject seems to have been initiated -- let's close the doors to all but those who are ready, willing and able to fit into our society, rather than expecting us to reshape our society to accomodate them.

Chinese bribing foreign VIPs? Who knew?

Walt cannot resist publishing remarks attributed to a Memeber of the Parliament of Canada -- one of the old Reform group that fell off the turnip truck in 1997 and has since been re-elected as a Conservative.

Calgary member Rob Anders, still scraping the shit off his cowboy boots, says some of his colleagues (but not himself of course) have been set up by seductive Chinese spies, lavished with gifts of alcohol and offered business deals which were too good to be true. Can you imagine?

Mr. Anders is quoted in today's Toronto Sun as saying many MPs have told him that on their trips to China they’ve been approached by stunning women half their age “offering them to go out dancing, go to dinner, get a massage.” Gosh. Who'da thunk it? Is there even one businessman who hasn't been similarly propositioned on a visit to China?

“I know MPs who have taken up those offers", Mr. Anders warns. "They have to understand that when they are being done [sic], they are probably being taped [and] those tapes can, and will, be used.” Sold to opposition candidates, perhaps!

Mr. Anders was very discreet, refusing to name names. “My purpose in doing this is not to end colleagues’ political careers,” he said. “My purpose is to educated [sic] them so they are better aware of how they can be manipulated.”

Mr. Anders told the QMI agency he has personally witnessed the sons of two different MPs being seduced by women far too attractive to be interested in these “average looking” guys, including a 14-year-old, in Taiwan. [Oh. That would be the Republic of China, then -- not to be confused with the People's Republic of China except in official government policies. ed.]

“There is no way that any of those people could have been anything other than influence peddling agents,” he said. “That person is up to something when they knock on your door, minutes after your arrival in a foreign hotel offering themselves to you.”

With a brilliant analytical mind like that, Mr. Anders should be put in charge of Canada's spy agency! In fact, he said he’s discussed the matter with the Canadian Security Intelligence Service who seemed very interested and wrote down the girls' names and phone numbers.

Footnote: The picture of Mr. Anders was obviously taken long ago, before Canada got its own flag. He may have aged a little since then, but it appears he hasn't learned much.

Follow-up to "Gorillas in our midst"

Early Sunday morning, 18-year-old Tevon Williams was shot dead outside the site of a birthday party in the Toronto suburb of Scarborough. Mr. Williams was black. A neighbour checking out the crime scene said he vaguely knew the victim, who he said lived with his mother in a nearby condo. He didn't know the whereabouts of the victim's father. Police are looking for the gunmen who may be described as _____ and who may have spoken with ______ accents. You fill in the blanks.

Less than 12 hours later, and in the same part of Toronto, a 20-year-old man was swarmed and killed by up to five other men armed with a hammer and at least one knife. There is no description of the suspects or the victim. Hands up, all those who think those involved were white or Chinese. No-one? Hey? I don't see any hands...
