Recommended reading/listening for parents

While I'm on the subject of book/podcast recommendations (see "Where to find new stuff by Scott Adams", WWW 8/9/23)... Mrs Walt tells me our blog is too "male-oriented". She's not one of those feminazis, just suggesting that there should be more content that real women, particularly parents, would find interesting and helpful. So we're happy to pass along these recommendations from Parents As First Educators.

Parenting Great Kids is a highly recommendable podcast curated by Dr Meg Meeker. She's a founatin of information on topics such as: how to communicate with your children, keeping them sae online, and advice for homeschoolers.

Dr Meeker isn't the only speaker. Recent episordes have included "A Guide to Homeschooling" (209), with Jennifer Pepito is the author of Mothering by the Book, host of the Restoration Home podcast, and the founder of The Peaceful Press.

"Overcoming Hidden Loneliness with the Power of Friendship" (211 - added today!), with guest Justin Whitmel, is about cultivating meaningful relationships for our children.

In "Navigating Children's Gender Dysphoria: The Hidden Dangers of Transgender Treatments" (204), Dr Meeker and Dr Jill Simons [a REAL "Dr Jill". Ed.] encourage listeners to ask themselves some tough questions, challenging popular narratives and encouraging informed decision-making.

Lots of great stuff there. So it is, too, with the blog edited by Dr Leonard Sax, M.D., Ph.D. He's a primary care physician who has been speaking to parents on issues of child and teen development since 2001. His books include: Why Gender Matters, Boys Adrift, The Collapses of Parenting, and (shown at right) Girls on the Edge: Why So Many Girls Are Anxious, Wired, and Obsessed--And What Parents Can Do.

In this book, Dr Sax reveals the four biggest threats to girls' psychological growth and explains how parents can help their daughters develop a healthy sense of self. He argues that many girls today have a brittle sense of self. They may look confident and strong on the outside, but they're fragile within.

He offers the tools parents need to help their girls become independent and confident women, with practical tips on everything from helping their daughter limit her time on social media, to choosing a sport, to nurturing her spirit through female-centered activities.

I hope you'll follow the links and check out these helpful resources. Do you want more of these reviews and recommendations? Use the comments window to let Walt know what you think.

Tanya Granic Allen wins PC nomination; bring on the election!

For those who don't follow Ontario politics, "PC" stands for Progressive Conservative, the oxymoronical name the province's centrist party chose for itself long before "PC" (Political Correctness) became the bane of true conservatives.

The very photogenic Tanya Granic Allen, last mentioned here in March, is defiantly un-PC, in the latter sense, but is now the official PC candidate for the riding of Mississauga Centre in the June 7th provincial election.

Yesterday she won the party's nomination, defeating three other candidate wannabes (including a Muslim), in the "ethnically diverse" riding. If you look closely, you might spot one of Walt's agents in the crowd of supporters.

A strong social conservative, Mrs Granic Allen is a past president of Parents As First Educators (PAFE), an advocacy group fighting against the Liberal government's pro-queer sex education agenda. She also advises various organizations including the Catholic Civil Rights League of Canada, and Campaign Life Coalition. In 2014, she was invested as Dame of Magistral Grace in The Order of Malta.

During the recent PC leadership contest, Mrs Granic Allen spoke out against the Liberals' sex education curriculum, once saying that the decline in elementary school students' math scores was the result of discussing anal sex in the classroom. This month she came under fire from the usual gang of "progressive thinkers" and SJWs for comments she made online in 2013 and 2014. Speaking about Québec's proposed Charter of Values, Mrs Granic Allen said she opposed the niqab and burka, saying people shouldn't "dress like bank robbers when going to vote" or "ninjas when going on an afternoon stroll."

She cited an attack on two teenage girls in Zanzibar "yet another reason not to vacation in a Muslim country." And in 2014 she tweeted in 2014 that the Queen should not allow gay marriage in England. The Queen's reply is not a matter of record.

Walt joins Doug Ford in congratulating Tanya Granic Allen on being nominated. But that's just the first step in making her strong voice for Canadian Christian values heard in the Ontario legislature. The second challenge is getting her elected in a riding where white, born-in-Canada Christians are in the minority. If you're a resident of Ontario -- of Mississauga Centre in particular -- and would like to help, visit her website or click here to send an e-mail to the campaign team. Good luck, Tanya!!!

VIDEO: 余婷婷 (Queenie Yu) speaks against Liberal pro-queer policies

Earlier today Walt posted "Jordan Peterson talks with Tanya Granic Allen & Queenie Yu", the full version (still only 7:47) of a 2017 interview of University of Toronto Professor Jordan Peterson by Tanya Granic Allen and her colleague at Parents As First Educators, Queenie Yu. The subject is Ontario's perverted sex education curriculum and gender ideology.

Tanya Granic Allen is a candidate for the leadership of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario. Queenie Yu (余婷婷) is her colleague at Parents as First Educators (PAFE), a social conservative activist and, a few months ago, an independent candidate in a Toronto-area by-election. Ms Yu is a strong voice for family values in the Chinese community. At the time of the interview with Dr Peterson, Ms Yu appeared on Fairchild TV to explain her community's opposition to the No-Wynne government's plans to sexualize innocent children. Here's the clip.

The voice of social conservatives needs to be heard, throughout the western world, but especially in Ontario, where a general election will be held on June 8th. If you are a resident of Ontario (only), please click here to contribute to Tanya Granic Allen's campaign. You can also help by supporting Parents As First Educators. Anyone can donate to PAFE, regardless of where they live. You won't get a tax receipt, but you will get a lot of satisfaction from doing your part to stand up for Christian family values. Thank you!

VIDEO: Jordan Peterson talks with Tanya Granic Allen & Queenie Yu (full version)

Last week, in "Ontario conservatives! Vote Tanya Granic Allen for PC party leader", I endorsed Tanya Granic Allen, the only candidate for the leadership of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party who stands four-square for the Christian family values on which the AABC countries were founded. I am happy to report that Mrs Granic Allen has been officially registered as a candidate and has participated with great effect in the first televised debate, impressing even the (((controlled media))).

The liberal Toronto Star's Thomas Walkom wrote: "Thursday's debate did not showcase the party as a collection of fiscally responsible moderates. Indeed, thanks to Granic Allen's bravura performance, it was as if all energy in the party came from the hard right. She dominated the debate." Click here to see the entire debate, as moderated by (((Steve Paikin))) and aired on TVOntario. Warning: running time is almost 58 minutes.

In last week's post, we embedded a much shorter (under two minutes) video, a clip from a 2017 interview of University of Toronto Professor Jordan Peterson by Tanya Granic Allen and her colleague at Parents As First Educators, Queenie Yu. Some readers have asked us to post a link to the full interview. We can do even better. Here's the whole thing: running time only 7:47. Listen up!

The voice of social conservatives needs to be heard, throughout the western world, but especially in Ontario, where a general election will be held on June 8th. Tanya Granic Allen is the loudest and clearest voice of conservatism, not just in Ontario but in Canada. She needs and deserves your support. To contribute to her campaign for the PC leadership, click here. Donations are tax deductible. You must be a resident of Ontario to donate and get a tax receipt. If you are not a resident of Ontario, and still wish to help, you can click here to donate to Parents As First Educators. You won't get a tax receipt, but you will get a lot of satisfaction at having helped in this crucial effort. Tell `em Walt sent you!

Ontario conservatives! Vote Tanya Granic Allen for PC party leader

Walt finds it easy to make fun Canadian Conservatives (with a big "C") because the majority of them are so close to the centre of the political spectrum as to be virtually indistinguishable from the centrist "blue Liberals". They believe in statism, progressivism, secular humanism, and government intervention is just about every aspect of life. Nowhere is this more true than in Ontario, where the alternative to Kathleen Wynne's detestable and detested Liberal government is a party that calls itself "Progressive Conservative" -- an oxymoron if ever there was one.

When the Regressive Convertibles (as the late Dr Foth used to call them) chose a new leader, Patrick Brown, a couple of years ago, there were some social conservatives who hoped that the PCs (as they call themselves) would dare to embrace Christian family values, particularly as regards the Wynne government's pro-queer agenda, particularly their proposed new sex education curriculum, about which Walt has written before. See, for example, "Liberal government of Ontario plans further attack on parental rights", WWW 27/2/17.

It was not to be. Patrick Brown flip-flopped on the sex ed issue like a beached mackerel. During one by-election, a letter was sent out over his name saying he was against the new curriculum. Mere hours later he said he was for it, and the letter had been sent out "by mistake". He then became an enthusiastic supporter of the lesbian premier's agenda, when he said, "I strongly support the updated sex-ed curriculum. I will never support removing LGBT sensitivity or combating homophobia from schools." How's that for "progressive conservatism"?

With Patrick Brown, there was no room for social conservatives -- or sanity -- in the Ontario PC party. But Patrick Brown is gone now, a victim of #MeToo. And the PCs are scrambling to find a new leader. There are three candidates, none of whom has said flatly that he or she (there are two women, one man, running) will listen to social conservatives, let alone be a strong voice for family values and the importance of life.

So... Tanya Granic Allen has stepped forward. Mrs Granic Allen is the President of Parents As First Educators, and, as mentioned in the post referred to above, has been in the forefront of the campaign to stop Kathleen Wynne and all her works. Late last week, Mrs Granic Allen announced that she would enter the contest for the leadership of the Ontario Progressive Conservatives, if she can muster up the votes and the funds needed to do so.

Can Tanya Granic Allen win? Frankly, Walt doesn't think so, but that's not the point. The point is to show the "serious candidates" that there is significant support out there -- by which I mean outside of Toronto, the fons et origio of all that is evil -- for true conservative principles and the Christian values on which Western society was built.

You can help! The first thing you need to do -- by 5 PM EST this coming Friday, February 16th -- is become a member of the party. You need to be: (a) a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, (b) living in Ontario, and (c) 14 years of age or older. That's all. It costs just $10 to join, and you can do it online, at secure.ontariopc.com/Partyjoin. (Please leave the window asking who referred you blank!

If you need help getting your member, leave a phone message at 416-763-7233, and someone will call you back and help you to register. Once you've registered, please e-mail tanya@pafe.ca to let her know you've done so. Very soon, you'll receive more information about how you can vote. You don't need to attend a convention or any party meetings. Voting is going to be online and/or by snail-mail. (How's that for conservative?)

Then there's the money. The entrance fee for the race is $100,000. Until Mrs Granic Allen is officially registered as a candidate, donations aren't tax-deductible, but they are very necessary! If you can help, please say so in your e-mail, and once a campaign account is set up, Tanya's team will let you know.

If you live in Ontario and share the values and ideals that motivate Tanya, Walt urges you to get your membership in the PC party and lend her your support. Remember, the membership deadline is Friday, February 16th, at 5 PM EST! You don't even have to get out of your chair, but please act now!

Still thinking about it? Here's a very short (1:50) video of Dr Jordan Peterson talking with Tanya and one of Walt's favourite conservative activists, Queenie Yu, about gender ideology.

Liberal government of Ontario plans further attack on parental rights

Faced with the certainty of a crushing defeat in the next provincial election, Ontario's Liberal (mis)government, led by proudly lesbian Premier Kathleen Wynne, has introduced yet another measure to push gender ideology into the courts, schools and adoption/child protection services, and further reduce the rights of parents to raise their children without interference by the nanny state.

Ontario is one of the most liberal, most politically correct jurisdictions in North America. Following 14 years of Liberal misrule, Ontario boys can be considered girls, and girls can be considered boys. Ontario kids are being taught a sex-ed curriculum written by a convicted child pornographer -- Doctor (((Benjamin Levin))) -- and supported by both the fragrant Ms Wynne and Patrick Brown, the leader of the province's so-oxymoronical "Progressive Conservative" opposition.

Last month Ms Wynne's government introduced Bill 89, in the Ontario legislature. Laughably called the Supporting Children, Youth and Families Act, the new law will do nothing of the kind. In fact it will do the opposite of what its title proclaims. The bill is an attack on parental authority and will ultimately harm children.

By expanding the application of the definition of what is "a child in need", the bill, when it becomes law, will displace children from their family home even where there really is no need. Also, by pushing gender ideology onto child services, child protection, foster and adoption service providers, the bill will force judges to take into consideration a child's "gender identity and gender expression".

According to Agent 3, Bill 89 also attacks the right of parents to direct their children's religious upbringing. Parents and those who stand in loco parentis (and Children's Aid Services et al.) must bring up the child in accordance with the child's creed -- whatever that is. For example, if a child who is somehow determined to be a Rastafarian is placed with Catholic foster parents, they must do nothing to convert the child to the Christian Faith.

By eliminating the religious faith in a child's upbringing as an element of "services" to the child, Bill 89 diminishes the important role parents play in the spiritual and moral development of a child. Similarly, foster and adoptive parents will be treated unjustly if they don't subscribe to gender theory and/or ideology. For instance, if a child equipped with a penis, but who "identifies" as a female, is placed in care, the foster parents or care providers mustn't so much as question the child's "gender choice". They might even be required to assist the child in obtaining "gender reassignment therapy" (= a sex-change operation).

Walt predicts that, although ordinary Ontarians may oppose it (see link to petition below), Bill 89 will sail through the politically correct legislature. Walt further predicts that one of the unintended consequences of the new Act will be a dramatic decrease in the already low number of good-hearted people willing to adopt or act as foster parents. What's the point of being a foster parent or adopting a child if you can't bring up children according to the family values that you know are right and good for them.

Dear Ontario readers... If you fear for the future of your province, as well you might, you must let your voices be heard. The more you remain silent (for fear of being labelled as "old-fashioned" or "unprogressive" or "homophobic"), the more freedom you give up.

Tanya Granic Allen, President of Parents as First Educators, and Queenie Yu, a real conservative activist, plan on testifying before the government committee charged with studying the bill. They hope to present a petition against the bill, with 1000s of signatures, to place on record the fact that Ontario families are not OK with Bill 89 and the Wynne pro-queer agenda. Click here to read more about the bill, and sign the petition! Tell them Walt sent you.

Citizen revolt begins: Queer sex ed costs Ontario Liberals by-election

Meet the wimmin responsible for Ontario's "new, improved, modern" sex education curriculum. On the left is Kathleen "No" Wynne, the Premier of the province (like being governor of a US state), and proud to be a lesbian. On the right (not politically, only in the picture), is former Education Minister Lez "Sensible" Sandals, who is not proud to be a lesbian.

A couple of years ago, following the surprise re-election of Ms Wynne's liberal Liberal government, the two of them conspired to reintroduce the LGBTQ-friendly sex ed course which had been shelved by the previous Premier following protests from the majority of Ontarians who are not into gender ideology, celebrating sexual diversity, and, errr, perversion. See "Anger mounts at "graphic revisions" to ON sex ed curriculum".

The new curriculum was largely the work of Dr. Benjamin Levin, a top mandarin in the Ministry of Education who moved on "to pursue other career options" following the revelation that he was a paedophile who had abused his own pre-teen daughters. See "Pervert responsible for Ontario sex ed curriculum claimed he had sex with pre-teen daughters, court hears". But (said the ladeez) never mind. All progressive people can see the need to teach the kiddies about sexting, masturbation, the benefits of being "two-spirited", and the new morality. So Dr. Levin's new curriculum went into effect a year ago, as scheduled.

Last night (Agent 3 reports), the voters of the Toronto riding of Scarborough-Rouge River showed that they were not so progressive, and definitely not happy with having kids as young as 6 being taught about sex when they should be concentrating on the three R's. In a byelection which Ms Wynne was forced to call following the the sudden and mysterious resignation of the Liberal MPP, the voters rejected the Premier's hand-picked candidate and elected Progressive Conservative [an oxymoron, if ever there was one. Ed.] Raymond Cho, by a comfortable margin.

Mr Cho maintained that sex education curriculum was the voters' top concern. "When I look at my riding, the huge majority are Muslim, Catholic, Hindu, Chinese. All these parents are quite concerned about this issue," Cho told the CBC. Complaints from parents in the super-diverse district ranged from not being consulted enough to the lessons being age-inappropriate to anger over mentions of same-sex relationships, gender identities and masturbation.

The byelection race was dominated in the last week by a Tory flip-flop on sex education. A letter distributed under the name of PC leader Patrick Brown name promised that a Progressive Conservative government would "scrap" updates to the curriculum. It would have been a popular promise, Mr Brown acknowledged, saying there was deep opposition to the curriculum in that riding. But he disavowed the letter days later, saying he didn't know about it and actually won't scrap the curriculum despite what he calls a lack of parental consultation. Sadly for the Liberal candidate, Mr Brown's reversal didn't make it into the "ethnic media" which dominate that part of Toronto.

So... Mr Cho won. Walt congratulates him, and hopes that Mr Brown will reverse his reversal. As for Ms Wynne, in a statement shortly after the outcome was announced, the Premier said, "The result in Scarborough-Rouge River is disappointing and gives me cause for reflection." Perhaps she is reflecting on the best to way to avoid any more byelections between now and the general election scheduled for the spring of 2018.

Footnote: If you click on the link to see the official tally from Elections Ontario, you'll notice that an independent candidate named Queenie Yu got 2.32% of the vote, a HUGE number for an independent. Ms Yu was a one-issue candidate, running, with the support of Parents As First Educators (PAFE) to protest the teaching of perversion in Ontario Schools.

Another footnote: Agent 3 says 90% of the residents of Scarborough-Rouge River are vizmins. That makes whities the REAL vizmins in that chunk of the Great No-Longer-White North. But hey, the "newcomers", unlike "old stock Canadians" are standing up for traditional values!

Blame dirty sex-ed! Toronto public schools lose 3500 students in year

At the beginning of the current school year, Walt reported that 1000s of parents were pulling their kids out of Ontario's "public" schools to keep them from being taught the benefits of homosexuality and other perversion in the "new, modernized" sex education curriculum being introduced by the province's Liberal government. See "Ontario's dirty sex ed curriculum going ahead. Worried parents scramble to get kids out", WWW 2/9/15.

The chattering classes poo-pooed the notion that a protest led by "religious nuts" and "homophobic immigrants" could have any impact. And the Liberal government of openly lesbian Premier Kathleen Wynne -- pictured here in a classroom -- fought back, of course, with a lavishly funded advertising campaign which was quickly pulled in response to 1000s of dislikes and snide remarks in the social media. See "What do you think of the Ontario government's VIDEO promoting its new dirty sex-ed curriculum?", 1/10/15.

Parents As First Educators has led the charge to keep the secular humanists in Ontario's "Pink Palace" from brainwashing impressionable kids (as young as 6!) with their pro-LGBTQ2S, anti-religous "values". See "Stop shaming parents who balk at sex education in schools", WWW 21/9/15. And guess what? They're winning!

The war against teaching immorality in Ontario schools is far from over, but concerned parents have won a significant battle in Toronto, the font of all evil. This morning, the Chair of the Toronto District School Board conceded that the province's new sex-ed curriculum is largely to blame for declining enrolment. The megacity's "public" schools will have 3500 fewer students next year. As a result, the TDSB will cut 100 teaching positions and make other staff reductions.

In an interview on the CBC, Robin Pilkey said she believes about 2,500 of those are children being pulled from schools by parents upset with the new sex-ed curriculum, which came into force in the fall of 2015 amid widespread protest. The pro-queer curriculum teaches masturbation, "gender expression" and the "value of diversity" -- but not the difference between right and wrong.

Walt congratulates PAFE and all the others who dare to stand up for decency and the values set out by God in Holy Scripture. Keep fighting!

Planned Parenthood using sex ed to promote abortion, boost profits

Note from Ed.: The information in this post was sent to us by Parents As First Educators (PAFE).

Earlier this month, Huffington Post published "Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards Discusses Sex Education", in which Ms Richards answers two questions of interest to parents of children being forced to study sex education in "public" (taxpayer-funded) schools. Here are the questions:

1. Should sex education classes be taught in elementary (Grades 1 through 8) schools?
2. What would the ideal sex education system look like?

The answers given by Ms Richards seem harmless, at first, with the words "age appropriate" being thrown around. And there's a quote that seems to include parents: "It's important for parents to talk with their kids and teens about healthy relationships with friends and intimate partners, body boundaries, and healthy communication. Children and teens need to hear about their parents' values and experiences, and we want to help parents address these issues with their children."

But this is Planned Parenthood we are talking about -- the same organization that backs the "new and improved" sex education curriculum mandated by Ontario's proudly lesbian premier, Kathleen Wynne.

Here is the very next quote from the interview with Ms Richards. "Ideally, sex education would be taught each year in schools from kindergarten through 12th grade -- it would be medically accurate, nonjudgmental, LGBTQ-inclusive, and -- like all school subjects -- would teach information and skills that are age-appropriate, reflect best educational practices, and build on students' learning each year."

Just like Kathleen Wynne and her Education Minister, Lez Sandals, Planned Parenthood is pushing sex education early in a child's physical and emotional development. Why would they do this? Because teaching little kids about sex is part of a strategy to get more teens pregnant and increase a demand for abortion, so as to make more money for the abotionists. And who is the largest provider of abortions in the world? Planned Parenthood!

Former abortion clinic owner Carol Everett, is quoted in the Lifesite News article "'We created demand for abortion by pushing sex ed on kids': former abortion clinic owner" as saying, "How do you sell an abortion? In the US it's very simple. You do it through sex education.

"We started in kindergarten. In kindergarten you put the children in a circle and you go around the room and you ask them all the same question: 'What do your parents call your private parts?' This was done to show, by the children giving different answers, that the parents didn't know what they were talking about and create confusion for the child.
From there everything else that's taught leads to increasing the odds of them getting pregnant in their teens.

"We had a goal of 3 to 5 abortions from every girl between the ages of 13 and 18, because we all work on a straight commission inside the abortion industry."

Ontario's lesbian Premier thrown under school bus by former boss

Sometimes a picture really is worth 1000 words. Here's a photo of former Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty looking away in embarrassment as his successor, Kathleen "Lesbian and Proud of it!" Wynne, announces that her intention to reintroduce the pro-queer, pro-perversion sex education curriculum that Mr. McGuinty previously put on the shelf.

Mr. McGuinty, now lucratively retired, wrote a very self-serving memoir, Dalton McGuinty, Making a Difference, which hit the bookstands last weekend. [It should be in the remainder bins come Boxing Day. Ed.]

Haven't read the book myself, but according to "From Sharia law to sex ed and the Queen: 17 things to know about Dalton McGuinty’s memoir" (National Post 21/11/15), "Premier Dad" wants to correct the public record on his role in the creation and withdrawal of the Liberals' new "dirty" sex education curriculum.

Mr. McGuinty told the NP interviewer that he "had no idea our government was even considering changes to sex ed until a reporter asked me about it" back in 2010. He went on to say that he didn't cave to "pressure from Christian fundamentalists" as has been suggested by many, including Ms/Mr Wynne. In the book, her former boss writes "She disagreed with my decision to put our sex-education reforms on hold. She felt we were caving to right-wing ideologues. I felt we were being prudent.'"

As PAFE (Parents As First Educators) has been saying for over a year now, Mr. McGuinty promised a proper consultation on the new curriculum, but his successor refused to honour that promise, undoubtedly because she knows that the majority of Ontario parents oppose her immoral, pro-LGBT, "if it feels good, do it!" agenda.

Footnote: Canada's new Liberal government, led by Justin Trudeau (for whom Ms/Mr Wynne campaigned relentlessly) announced earlier this week that the allegedly Syrian "refugees" it will be importing to Canada in the next few weeks will be women and children and families, but not single men... unless of course the single "men" happen to be gay or trans-gendered or bi or otherwise queer. Fancy that.

Stop shaming parents who balk at sex education in schools

Ed. here. Parents As First Educators (PAFE) has sent us an excellent piece by a self-described secular humanist, Luisa D'Amato, which appeared recently in the Waterloo (ON) Record. Ms D'Amato is in favour of Ontario's new "dirty" sex education curriculum, about which Walt has written before. (Enter "sex education" in the search window, and you'll see 33 previous posts.)

Ms D'Amato feels, however, that it's unfair for Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and her sidekick Lez Sandals to demonize those who oppose the curriculum's immoral, pro-queer agenda as religious fanatics or stick-in-the-mud prudes. Here's what Ms D'Amato has to say. We think readers all over North America will find it relevant.

We have long been proud of our multicultural Canadian society. Now we have to do the hard work to actually be good at it. Too many people, inside and outside the teaching profession, are acting in a condescending, know-it-all manner toward families who are legitimately concerned by some of the content of Ontario's new sexual education curriculum.

The religious or cultural beliefs of these families, many of them Asian or Muslim background, sets them apart from the secular, liberal mainstream in the province. And that's a problem for everyone, because the minorities risk feeling isolated when disagreements arise.

The new sex education curriculum is embedded in a variety of other topics about health, including physical movement, social inclusion and healthy eating. The sexual information children will receive is frank and explicit. Children will learn correct names for body parts, including genitalia, by the end of Grade 1. They'll learn about same-sex couples and gender identity by the end of Grade 3. Ahead lay [sic] discussions about puberty, consent, masturbation and contraception.

As a secular, liberal parent myself, I think this is a great development. But there are plenty of caring, thoughtful parents whose cultural background is different. For them, these topics are being introduced in the wrong context, or at much too early an age. That doesn't make them bad parents.

I have the greatest respect for my Record colleague Joel Rubinoff, who wrote a strong defence of the new sex-ed curriculum a few days ago. But I don't think his characterization of these parents' concerns, which he called "a new mantra of fear and paranoia" was reasonable.

Nor was his comment: "It's time for the media to stop giving a platform to a misguided vocal minority whose energy would be better spent searching for a portal back to the 14th century." That's unfair. Make no mistake: the parents who are protesting have their reasons. The sex education curriculum...is not only teaching facts, but also values. [My emphasis. Ed.]

Even the age at which some topics are introduced is a value judgment. In Grade 4, for example, the curriculum has a sample discussion on puberty that suggests students discuss their intense feelings of "liking" or "wanting to be more than just friends" with someone. That's not going to sit well with many parents who don't think their children should date until they have graduated high school.

Some parents have been adamant in their protests. One Toronto-area school is half empty as families pulled their children. [See "Ontario's 'dirty' sex ed curriculum going ahead. Worried parents scramble to get kids out" Ed.] In Waterloo Region, a few families have defected to a private elementary school.

Locally, the public board has handled parental misgivings carefully and respectfully, on a case-by-case basis.
Families were encouraged to discuss concerns, first with the teacher and next with the principal. "Each conversation may be very different," said Graham Shantz, superintendent of student achievement and well-being. So far, he said, no family has moved to the next step, which would be using the board's procedure on faith and religious accommodation to have a child excused from certain classes or otherwise accommodated.

We live in strange times. Too often, highly educated liberal elites are busily telling everyone else how to think, instead of valuing dissent and tolerance. [My emphasis, again. Ed.] In a diverse, multicultural society, we have to do better than that. We must find a way to treat everyone's concerns with sensitivity and respect while also moving forward as a group. It's not easy. But it is absolutely necessary.

ON to allow parents to withdraw kids from pro-queer sex ed classes

News from the Pink Palace in Toronto this morning is that the LGBTQ types who (allegedly) run Ontario's government appear to have flinched in the face of stubborn resistance to their new pro-queer sex education curriculum. Lez Sandals -- Minister of Education in the government of Kathleen "Proud to be a lesbian" Wynne, has announced that parents who are still opposed to the new curriculum being taught in publicly-funded schools this year can pull their kids from class.

This flies in the face of statements made last week by officials of the Toronto and Peel Region public school boards -- the largest and second-largest in the province -- that any requests for students to opt out of learning about "gay families" or "diverse gender identities" will not be tolerated. See "Ontario's 'dirty' sex ed curriculum going ahead. Worried parents scramble to get kids out" (WWW 2/9/15).

Why the sudden volte-face? [Did you learn that word in school? Ed.] Looks from here like protests orchestrated by Parents As First Educators (PAFE) and others are having an effect. At Toronto's Thorncliffe Park Public School (whose students are predominantly from Muslim families), almost half the students were kept home by their parents this morning -- the first day of the new school year. Instead, they gathered in an open space near the school to have classes under the trees, just as they would have in their countries of origin. A spokesthingy for the parents said the boycott would continue till month's end or beyond.

Complaints from parents -- not just Muslims but Hindus and Christians and even the non-religious -- have ranged from a lack of consultation, to lessons not being age-appropriate, to not wanting their kids to be taught about same-sex relationships and different "gender identities". An underlying, even more important theme of the protests is that teaching about sex and family life should be done by parents, in the home, not by teachers shackled by a pro-gay, anything goes curriculum written by a gang of secular humanists including at least one convicted pedophile.

Will allowing parents to withdraw their kids from sex ed classes be enough to stop the growing protest? Or will concerned parents keep it up until the new curriculum is "temporarily withdrawn for further study", as happened back in 2011 when Dalton McGuinty was Premier of Ontario and Kathleen Wynne was... wait for it... the Minister of Education responsible for the whole queer mess. Stay tuned.

Footnote (added 9/9/15): CTV's flagship station in Toronto took an online poll yesterday on a simple yes-no question: "Do you support the new sex education curriculum?" Of almost 4000 responders, 78% voted NO! Agent 3 reports that when they asked a similar question back in the spring, and got a similar negative answer, they didn't reveal the results on the 6 pm news. This time they did. The people of Ontario are speaking, but will Kathleen Wynne listen? Walt doubts it. Lifetime pct .951.

UPDATED: Ontario's "dirty" sex ed curriculum going ahead. Worried parents scramble to get kids out

For Ontario students, the school year begins the day after Labour Day. Threatened strikes by teachers have been averted by the customary throwing of taxpayers' money at them, in spite of promises by Premier Kathleen Wynne and her minion, Education Minister Lez Sandals, that there'd be no raises. And the proudly lesbian premier's cherished new sex education curriculum, co-written by convicted pedophile Benjamin Levin, will be taught as planned, in spite of protests by 1000s of parents concerned about its pro-LGBTQ, anti-morality agenda.

Across the province, protesters gathered in front of the constituency offices of Liberal MPPs. Outside the Premier's office in Dawn Mills [Whatever became of Sid Barron? Ed.], a public school student, Umeema Khalil, aged only 9, declared she won't go to school this year because of the province’s "new dirty curriculum".

Under the new curriculum, students of Umeema's age will already have been exposed for three years to gender ideology propaganda -- it's cool to be gay, and "transgendered" people like Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner are normal. The curriculum teaches Grade 3 students about homosexuality and Grade 6 students about masturbation and "gender expression".

Grade 7 and 8 students -- "tweenies" -- will learn about contraception, oral sex and the potential pitfalls of "sexting". Anal sex and other perversions come a bit later. But, Umemma told the Toronto Sun, "I want to be inspired by education, not forced to learn unspeakable stuff."

Unfortunately for Umeema and her parents, they're not going to have any choice in the matter. When the new curriculum was rolled out last year, parents were assured that they had the right to withdraw their children from sex ed classes if they had religious or other objections to the material being taught. Really? Err, no... not really.

Tony Pontes, Director of the Peel District School Board -- Ontario's second-largest -- told PDSB teachers and superintendents today that parents may be allowed to remove their kids from sex-ed classes for religious reasons, but any requests for students to opt out of learning about "gay families" or "diverse gender identities" will not be tolerated. Period! See "Peel board won't exempt kids from learning about gay families, gender issues".

Mr. Pontes said that if parents have a problem with such strong support for "equity and inclusion", the public system [sic] may not be right for them. "Let's be clear," he said. "Some in our community may not like this.... Some parents may choose to switch school systems. If so, that is a price we must be willing to pay."

Even as he spoke, one of the demonstrators in front of Premier Wynne's office, Mohammed Azhar, a father of two school-age children, decried the provincial government’s lack of consultation with parents. "They are imposing this sex-ed curriculum, which is against our moral and cultural values. Parents are the first educators."

Will Mr. Azhar, Miss Khalil and groups like PAFE (Parents As First Educators) succeed in stopping the lesbian premier's pro-queer juggernaut? Walt thinks they have two chances....

UPDATE 3/9/15 - A growing number of parents across Greater Toronto who oppose Ontario’s new sex-ed curriculum are making a desperate, last-minute attempt to get their kids out of the public system. They’re considering home-schooling their children or sending them to private schools, even if just for a short time, to show how upset they are. Lesbian premier of Ontario pretends not to notice as pervert who drafted new sex ed curriculum pleads guilty to kiddy porn charges

The story so far... Back in 2010, Kathleen Wynne, a proud member of the LGBT "community" who was then Ontario's Minister of Education, introduced a new sex education curriculum which would have preached the pro-queer message -- homosexuality is OK, "gay marriage" is OK, alternative lifestyles are OK, etc -- to children as young as six. The reaction of parents, teachers and religious leaders was so negative that then-Premier Dalton McGuinty pulled the pink rug out from under Ms Wynne, and the new curriculum was sent back to the eggheads in the Ministry of Education for a rethink.

Typical of the pushback against the gay mafia's attempts to force their "morality" on innocent children was the famous "Don't confuse me; I'm a girl!" ad, sponsored by the Institute for Canadian Values. The lamestream media and the usual gang of secular humanists and celebrants of diversity called the idea that girls should be left alone to be girls, and boys to be boys, old-fashioned, homophobic, etc etc and so forth. But give it time, they said. We'll give it a few minor tweaks and bring it forward again, after a decent interval.

Time passes. "Premier Dad" resigns and hands the reins of power over to... wait for it... Kathleen Wynne. The new curriculum remains in the closet [keen choice o' words! Ed.] until Ms Wynne somehow wins an election, and then, lo and behold, is trotted out again last November. Were any significant changes made? Errr, no.

It didn't take long for Ontarians to see past the new cover and copyright date. Isn't this the same stuff, they asked, that they tried to foist on us a couple of years ago? Who wrote this stuff, anyhow? Aha! The penny drops! That question was asked and answered more than a year earlier, when Dr. Benjamin Levin, former Deputy Minister of Education, was arrested on charges of making and possessing child pornography. See "Are perverts pushing Ontario's sex education curriculum? Could be!"

Oh... that guy... was the reaction of Ms Wynne and the new Education Minister, Lez Sandals. He didn't have anything to do with it. He was Deputy Minister years and years ago, and anyway, those charges haven't been proven in court, so don't give it another thought. We'll be bringing out the new curriculum in the spring and it's better. Nothing in there to worry about. You'll see.

Whoops! The words were still echoing in the marble halls of the Pink Palace when Professor Levin's lawyer announced he'd made a deal with the Crown for his client to plead guilty to some of the charges. Soon. Like the beginning of March. Double whoops!! Roll the damn thing out double-quick, Ms Sandals! And so it was done.

That brings us to today, when, as promised, Dr. Levin pled guilty in a Toronto court to three charges: making written child pornography, counselling a person to commit a sexual assault, and possession of child pornography. The agreed statement of facts, read into the record by the Crown, was so shocking that one Toronto TV station warned its listeners not to listen [hahahahahaha... Ed.]

The man who had a large hand in drafting the new sex ed curriculum liked to hang out in Internet chat rooms. Among the people he chatted with were undercover cops in Toronto, London (Ontario) and New Zealand -- all posing as women interested in sexual activities with children.

In a conversation beginning in August 2012, the Toronto officer said she had two daughters aged 8 and 14. According to the Crown, Levin "normalized and encouraged the sexual touching of the girls by their mother."

In June 2013, the same officer logged into an "incest" chatroom claiming to be a mother attracted to her 8-year-old daughter. The court was told Levin instructed her on how to "groom the child to get her 'used to sex'", to expose her daughter to pornography, to be nude, and to masturbate in front of the child.

Hmmm... "Get her used to sex," eh. Isn't that what the new sex ed curriculum aims to do by starting to teach kids about sex as early as Grade 3, and the reproductive anatomy even earlier? Grade 3... That would be age 8. Where have we heard that number before?

Back to the chatroom... The undercover cop "advised Mr. Levin that she had followed his instructions...that she had sexually assaulted her child," the court heard. "Levin instructed (her) to 'play' with this child. [He] stated that it was fine if the child cried and the child should understand that more would be done to her. The theme of these discussions was sexualization of the officer's child."

Sexualization of a child. Isn't that... (See above.)

The court heard also that Levin didn't think the undercover officer's profile was real, but didn't suggest or ask if she or her daughter were real people. "Nor was it explicitly suggested that their exchanges were intended to be pure fantasy. He knowingly counselled [the officer] to sexually assault her daughter."

Remember, what you're reading are not allegations. These are details from the statement of facts agreed to by Professor Levin's counsel.

In his chats with the London policewoman, in December 2012, Levin expressed further fantasies. According to Crown counsel, "He said he hoped his daughters would 'share' their own children -- his grandchildren -- with him and his wife."

With the undercover officer in New Zealand, Levin's discussions included sending images of females under the age of 18. One depicted a girl in a bondage scene with an adult woman standing over her. Levin's comment on the picture? "Mmm? So hot to imagine a mother doing that to her girl to please her lover."

Other images sent to the officer by Levin included the picture of a crying girl on which he commented "That girl might be crying because she was used somewhat roughly by her mother's lover." In June 2013, at the New Zealand officer's request, Levin created an online story "detailing the violent sexual assault of a 10 year old child."

Why am I posting all this? Because, remember, Benjamin Levin, the man guilty by his own admission of advocating the "sexualization" of children, is the same Benjamin Levin who held the post of Deputy Minister of Education in Ontario, and, again by his own admission, played a major role in developing Ontario's new sex education curriculum.

In 2009 Dr. Levin presented the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) with a bio in which he boasted, "I was the Deputy Minister of education. In that role, I was the chief civil servant. I was responsible for the operation of the Ministry of Education and everything that they do; I was brought in to implement the new education policy." Source: the OISE newsletter.

If Dr. Levin's sexual appetites were so depraved that he could counsel a mother to assault her own child, Ontario parents are well within their rights to be suspicious of the motives for the curriculum's introduction of detailed information about sex to children. Surely it's not old-fashioned or homophobic to see it as a subtle "grooming" of innocent children in preparation for corruption and abuse!

UPDATED: Anger mounts at "graphic revisions" to ON sex ed curriculum

In just a couple of hours, Ontario Education Minister Liz Sandals -- dear chum of Kathleen Wynne, the only openly lesbian head of government in North America -- will announce the province's new sex education curriculum. Agent 3 has parsed the hints, leaks and statements emanating from the Pink Palace at Queen's Park, and provides this summary of what the LGBT mafia in the Ontario government want kids in the Province of Opportunity [sic] to be taught.

The concepts of homosexuality, "gay marriage" and having "parents" of the same gender will be introduced in Grade 3, to students who are usually about eight (8) years old. Puberty will be introduced to kids of about 11 in Grade 6. They will also be taught about masturbation. One can imagine what the group activities will be like.

Information about sexually transmitted diseases will be introduced in Grade 7. This is important for 12-year-olds, Ms Sandals says, because "The research provided to us has indicated that pregnancy among girls has fallen since we introduced sex education [but] alternatively sexually transmitted diseases have gone up.... There are some young people who feel that what they are doing is more acceptable because they are not having intercourse."

Details of "what they are doing" were not provided, but a little rat has told Agent 3 topics to be covered include oral and anal intercourse. Is this really the kind of thing Ontario pre-teens do?

In 2010, when Kathleen Wynne was Minister of Education, the Liberal government of Dalton McGuinty tried to update the sex education curriculum in schools, but, facing an election, "Premier Dad" bowed to pressure from outraged parents and religious leaders and reversed its decision. This time, though, there will be no going back. Once it is rolled out, Ms Sandals said last week, it will not be changed, no matter what the public thinks.

In the same statement, Ms Sandals said that Benjamin Levin "was not directly involved" -- Walt's emphasis -- in the writing of the "updated, modernized" curriculum. Benjamin Levin is the ex-mandarin, ex-professor and leading member of the aforementioned Toronto LGBT mafia, currently charge with accessing child pornography, possessing child pornography, making child pornography, distributing child pornography, counselling to commit an indictable offence and agreeing to or arranging for a sexual offence against a child under 16.

See "Professor behind Ontario's pro-gay sex education curriculum to plead guilty to child porn charges" and "Are perverts pushing Ontario's sex education curriculum? Could be!". Prof. Levin will quietly plead guilty to some of the charges in a few weeks... after the new curriculum has been put in place.

Meanwhile, a growing chorus of parents and religious leaders is raging -- likely in vain but raging all the same -- against the Ontario government's attempts to corrupt their kids. And it's not just the usual gang of Catholics and evangelical Protestants, either. Agent 3 was in Mississauga ON, a city of about 750,000 of which the majority are south Asians -- Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs.

Last night the community organized a town hall meeting, facilitated by the Islamic Society of North America, to protest the curriculum, which, whether they like it or not, will be implemented for the beginning of the new school year in September. What message did the 1000+ attendees have for Premier Wynne? "It’s unacceptable. We reject it!"

Mississauga South MPP Charles Sousa (who is also the Minister of Finance in the Wynne government) attended the meeting and took the heat. Surprisingly, he did not appear as uncompromising as Ms Sandals. "This is not a law that cannot be changed, it’s not a bill," he said. "And there is no law that can prevent amendments to the curriculum."

Indeed. But in practice, the curriculum is written by bureaucrats within the Ministry, "progressive thinkers" like Benjamin Levin who have their own super-PC agenda: encouraging "alternative lifestyles", "celebrating diversity", "preventing bullying", yada yada yada. The chances of any real people having any input are slim and none.

Not only do parents get no input, they don't even get consulted! At last night's meeting, Mr. Sousa was told that all local school board trustees were contacted by the meeting organizers, and not one reported having been consulted in regards to the curriculum.

Pro-LGBT sex ed coming back to Ontario schools

Here we go again, skipping gayly (geddit?) down the road to "gender diversity" and the "education" of children as young as eight in the benefits of the LGBT lifestyle!

Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, having won a new mandate for her ultra-liberal, ultra-PC policies, is set to re-introduce a bill to mandate pro-gay sex education in Ontario elementary schools -- Catholic as well as "public" -- beginning in the fall of 2015.

Depending on how you count, this is the second or third time Ms Wynne has tried to push the LGBT agenda down the throats of Ontarians. She first trotted out the new curriculum in 2010, when she was the province's education minister. The reaction of the non-gay 90% of the population was so fierce that her boss, Dalton McGuinty, cancelled its implementation just hours after his own cabinet ministers had vigorously defended it.

Why were average citizens, especially the parents of school-age children, so horrified? Because the new curriculum called for teacher-led discussions of topics such as masturbation, oral and anal sex and homosexuality by Grade 8, and the general topic of sex and where babies come from as early as Grade 3!

Mr. McGuinty said the province "hadn’t consulted enough with parents", even though his own ministers insisted they'd been "having a conversation" with the public for two years. And so the pro-gay curriculum was quietly buried. But after Mr. McGuinty resigned and the premiership was handed over to Ms. Wynne, it was resurrected again! See "WARNING to Ontarians: queer sex ed is back on the table!" (WWW 14/10/13) and "Are perverts pushing Ontario's sex education curriculum? Could be!" (WWW 10/7/13).

But then Ms. Wynne, who headed a minority government, was forced to call an election, which she won, thanks to the ineptitude of Ontario's oxymoronically-named Progressive Conservatives. And so, as surely as "shoes" follows "sensible", the bill requiring the "updating" of Ontario's education curriculum is to be brought forward yet again.

This time, Ms. Wynne’s government says it will use an online survey to consult with parents before the new curriculum is rolled out. Do they mean all Ontario parents? Errr, no. They'll be asking the opinion of 4000 parents -- possibly including same-sex couples who have somehow acquired a child -- hand-picked by school principals to participate.

Let's see now. Who do the school principals work for? That's right. The Ministry of Education which is determined to get its new programme approved. Walt thinks it not unlikely that most of the parents selected will be the chairs and members of school councils who can be relied on to rubber stamp the proposed curriculum.

So sure of that is the Wynne government that Education Minister Liz [sic] Sandals has already said that the survey process is unlikely to lead to any changes. Nor will the province inform all parents about the contents of the new curriculum, which will be left up to individual schools. So much for "meaningful consultation".

Opposition to the new curriculum is being led by Parents As First Educators (PAFE), which has launched a petition objecting to the "graphic" revision of the sex education curriculum.

In "No input from Ontario parents, school trustees on Kathleen Wynne's new sex-ed curriculum: what are the Liberals trying to hide?", PAFE makes a good argument that what Ms. Wynne and her good friend Ms. Sandals want is to appear to be consulting with parents in the manner of the Jesuits of old -- letting the parents find their own way to a conclusion which has already been determined.
