VIDEO: Is wokeness really dead?

Is the voting public finally losing patience with progressive politics? How real is the anti-woke backlash? Brendan O'Neill, the chief political writer at Spiked (or Sp!ked, if you like) is the author of a new book which tackles these questions.

In, Vibe Shift: The Revolt Against Wokeness, Greenism, and Technocracy, Mr O'Neill.makes the case that across western countries in both North America and Europe, the tide is turning against so-called “wokeism” and that the pendulum is swinging hard the other way. But, he warns, the hydra-headed monster isn't dead yet.

In this video, Mr O'Neill is interviewed by Spiked editor Tom Slater. They discuss how the elites' crazy ideologies are colliding with reality, common sense and public fury. If you can handle the English accents, you'll hear why he believes the common sense of the ordinary people is prevailing over woke politics, but that the left lunacy, although receding, is far from dead.

There's a free speech issue here... indeed, freedom of thought... particularly in Canuckistan, where the Minister of Justice (so-called) announced on Tuesday that the Liberal government of Marx Carnage are ready to limit debate on their bill banning hate symbols, which also removes the religious exemption to some hate speech laws.

Leftist ideology is inherently authoritarian. When moral certainty is paired with institutional power (universities, HR departments, media, professional bodies), dissenting views are treated as not mere disagreement but heresy.

As our old friend Dr Jordan Peterson learned, there are social and/or professional penalties for expressing unpopular views. The consequences of speaking out are such that academics and professionals find that discretion is the better part of value and start censoring themselves.

Disagreement from the prevailing orthodoxy is treated aas a moral defect. Framing complex social issues in binary moral terms -- you're either right (like us) or wrong -- reduces tolerance for ambiguity and gives people kudos for virtue signalling rather than the seeking of pragmatic solutions to problems.

Instead of being treated as individuals, people are now treated as members of identity categories. That's  how we find people "identifying as" a group of initials: L, G, B, T, 2S, POC, and so forth. This actually encourages divisions in society rather than the tolerant multiculturalism which is the stated goal of the ideologues. "Let's all form a circle, hold hands and sing 'Kumbaya'." Not any longer!

Dr Jordan Peterson & Victor Davis Hanson talk to & about Charlie Kirk

There are times when the world is too much with us, and this weekend was one of those times. The tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, cut down by a loonie leftist for daring to talk about his beliefs, filled my mind as well as the ether. I needed time to process what I was seeing, hearing and reading.

Rather than add my pitiful two cents worth, I'm reposting two excellent videos which appeared on YouTube. The first, featuring Victor Davis Henson talking about Charlie (I want to remember him as Charlie, not "Mr Kirk") with Hugh Hewitt, appeared on the 11th. The second is an interview with Charlie conducted by Dr Jordan Peterson on 19 March 2025.

The two videos, combined, give you all you need to know about Charlie, who is already being referred to, rightly, as a political, even a religious martyr. RIP. We send a big thank-you to Agent 6, for taking on Ed.'s role and providing us with the URLs.

Charlie Kirk had many friends and admirers, among them Victor Davis Hanson, who joined me today to talk about Charlie, what moved him, and what his assassination could portend for the U.S. Victor’s new book “The End of Everything” is the somber backdrop to yesterday tragedy.

Dr. Jordan B. Peterson engages in conversation with Charlie Kirk -- author, speaker, and founder and CEO of Turning Point USA. They delve into his emergence as a leading voice in the Conservative movement, his choice to bypass traditional higher education, and the early indicators of ideological bias in academia.

The discussion also addresses how the university system has not only tilted toward the hyper-feminine but has transformed into a large-scale scam. Additionally, they examine academia’s departure from timeless questions of good and evil, faith, and foundational philosophy, to a focus on Marxist economics and cultural capture.

In addition to his role at Turning Point USA, Charlie also served as the CEO and founder of Turning Point Action, a related entity operating under a 501(c)(4) status. Turning Point Action’s mission is to embolden the conservative base through grassroots activism and to provide voters with the necessary resources to elect true conservative leaders. Turning Point Action has earned recognition as one of the leading grassroots forces in the country today.

Canada's "new" WEF-backed Prime Minister

Walt was in Canada over the weekend for the coronation of Mark Canada as successor to Blackie McBlackface as leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, and therefore as Prime Minister of Canada.

That's the way the parliamentary system works. If you lead the government party, you're the Prime Minister, regardless of the fact that you've never been elected to anything. A safe seat in the House of Commons can be opened up for you later. Worked (twice!) for William Lyon Mackenzie King, who "loved his mother like anything / kept her tied up with a piece of string" (very old skipping rhyme).

The Canadian Broadcorping Castration, the state-owned broadcaster, wasted nearly three hours of listeners' (Sid & Doris Bonkers, of Dildo NL) time with a series of talking heads trying unsuccessfully to create an air of suspense, followed by a 45-minute history of Canada recited by former Prime Minister Jean Chrétien, who was there for most of it.

Then the final result of the leadership "contest" was announced. Mr Carney garnered a mere 85% of the votes cast by the party faithful. He promised to do better next time, his goal being to get 99%, as they do in socialist democracies. It wasn't a surprise. Everyone knew that the former Governor of the Bank of Canada and Bank of England (successively) had the puck nailed to his stick by his friends in the global elite.

Mr Carney then attempted to deliver a "fighting speech", without revealing when the fight would start. His oration, part of which was delivered in halting French, consisted of platitudes and hockey metaphors -- "Elbows up!" -- but was devoid of any substance, such as a plan to get Canada out of the trade war.

There was no indication that Mr Carney intends to do anything other than stay the course with the globalist-environmentalist agenda outlined in his (?) book, Value(s) [sic], published in 2021, which has been praised by liberal, one-world eco-wienies across Canada and the European Disunion. One of them is seen here driving Mr Carney (in an EV, no doubt) to a meeting of the rulers of the New World Order.

One contrarian is terrified, not thrilled, by Mr Carney's agenda for Canada. That would be Dr Jordan Peterson, who, the day before the coronation, wrote "Mark Carney doesn't value a prosperous Canada", National Post, 8/3/25. Subtitle: "This would-be planetary saviour has no respect for free markets." It's a long article, worth reading in its entirety, but these excerpts will give you the gist of it. Dr Peterson's words are in purple, and those of Mr Carney (quotes from his book) are in bright Democrat blue. Any emphasis is Walt's.

It is most definitely the case — and this is a fundamental conservative or even classic liberal conviction — that free societies and markets operate within a broader framework of values. In the West, for better or worse (and certainly for comparative better) that framework is Judeo-Christian, religious and cultural in its essence — a framework that has established the principles of "self-evidence" referred to so famously by the authors and signatories of the American Declaration of Independence.

These include the propositions that all people have intrinsic worth, made as they are in the image of God; that each person owes all others the due that such worth necessitates, including the responsibility to trade in goods, ideas, cooperation and competition, honestly and fairly, and with an eye to mutual success; and that all of us, our leaders included (and perhaps first and foremost) must pay obeisance to what is truly transcendent and divine.

This is the framework that Carney purports to replace, even though it is not clear that he understands this, or that he has developed any understanding whatsoever of the culture he wants to reshape from first principles.

What are his suggestions, regarding such replacement? This is where the rubber hits the road or, more accurately, where the train flies off the track ... Carney betrays his alliance with the worst particularized ideas of the last twenty or thirty years, and the even worse generally radical intellectual presumptions of the last century.

“Our goal has been to put in place the information, tools and markets so that every financial decision takes climate change into account — to create a financial system in which a company’s contributions to climate change and climate solution are fundamental determinants of its value. So that value reflects values.

"At COP26 in Glasgow, we delivered twenty-four major reforms to transform the information, tools and markets at the heart of finance. These include climate stress testing, net-zero transition plans and clear, comparable and decision-useful climate disclosure so that financial markets can manage risks and seize opportunities in the climate transition."

The consortium has stated that there "must be an average 28 per cent reduction in the number of flights across C40 cities." How might that be enforced? No more flights for the ordinary person (an overstatement: the C40 nature-worshippers will allow the peasants one short-haul flight every three years). They also mention "reducing and eventually nearly eliminating the need for car ownership."

Ever wonder where the electricity for your soon-to-be mandatory electric car will come from, given the woeful inadequacy in that regard of the current grid, and the impossibility of rectifying that, before gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles are banned? No matter! There is no reason to presume, as you have so far, that you are entitled to a vehicle of your very own. Problem solved!

And even if you are one of the fortunate few with a car — serious limitations will be imposed on the number of miles your peasant hide is allowed to travel, with equally serious restraints on velocity and road access.

Make no mistake about it, people. Those who promise, like Carney, to save the planet, while waving evidence of its forthcoming demise over your heads like the sword of Damocles, will use the purported seriousness of the crisis to rule over every conceivable aspect of your life — for the moral reasons of “value” that cannot be properly computed, in Carney’s estimation, by the flawed free market system.

A radical decrease in the availability of meat and dairy — preferably a complete turn to a plant and even perhaps insect-based diet, as mused by the WEF. Three new articles of clothing a year, maximum.

There is virtually no bad idea recently promoted by the top-down globalists (as alluded to earlier) that Carney has not championed — worse; not merely championed, as an acolyte or ally, as in the case of the hapless narcissist he is attempting to replace, our very own Justin Trudeau.

Trudeau was little more than a globalist shill, shiny and attractive though he may have been. Carney is no such mean thing; no mere WEF infiltrator. He is instead a veritable globalist author, master-planner and leader, as he says (insists upon) himself:

Value(s) is, in truth, one of the shallowest books I have ever read, and I have read many, both shallow and deep. It contains no original ideas whatsoever, while the ideas it does contain, however few in number they may admittedly be, are literally the worst that have been formulated by the worst of thinkers in the last few generations; even in the last century or two.

Mark Carney has failed, therefore — and dismally; spectacularly — in his attempts as a thinker, as well as an international leader. His practical multinational ventures have been recently revealed as the empty vessels they most truly are.

In closing, a warning to Canadians, hoodwinked into believing that Carney’s much-vaunted international experience makes him capable; makes him someone able, even less convincingly, to stand up to our erratic American compatriots to the south. Mark Carney, formerly of the Bank of England, has the patina of foreign-bestowed competence. In truth, however, he is a man with all the flaws of Trudeau, and that’s saying something.

However, in his admitted networking, managerial and administrative prowess he presents far more danger. Our hapless previous Dear Leader was at least hamstrung in his pretension by his incompetence. Carney is as addled in his values as his predecessor, but much more efficient and unwavering in his implementation.

If you don’t want Canada to be a self-immolating martyr-state, subject to the whims of an economic order increasingly dominated by the coal-burning titans of India, China and the rest of the BRICS; if you don’t want your every move and every decision evaluated by the top-down tyrants of the new global order — then you bloody well better think twice about who you are going to vote for when push comes to shove for Canadians in the next six months.

Whatever Canada’s values might be, they best not be the shibboleths of false virtue, intellectual pretension, and well-camouflaged oh-so-virtuous totalizing tyranny put forth by the newly coronated dear leader of the appalling Liberal party.

VIDEO: Dr Jordan Peterson argues the case for a Trump Canada

It's been a while since we featured a video by the good doctor. Agent 6 alerted us to this one, posted on February 5th, in which Dr Peterson reads from his recent article in the National Post, wherein he outlines the case for Trump’s Canada. [Eh? Ed.] He analyses what the Donald is seemingly offering, why provinces like Alberta might just take the deal, and how the Great No-longer-white North can still align itself for a "new era of triumph".

What isn't clear to me, though, is what President Trump really wants. Surely it's more than decent beer -- DJT doesn't drink -- or a 51st star on Old Glory. For an alternative theory, check out the video in "Why does DJT have Canada in the cross-hairs?", WWW 3/2/25.

VIDEO: Dr Jordan Peterson interviews Canadian PM-in-waiting

This video was recorded on 21 December 2024, and would have been nominated for a Wally Award, had we only known about Instead, we've already placed it on the list of possibilities for Most Important Polical Interview of 2025.

Dr Jordan Peterson sits down with the Hon. Pierre Poilievre, Canadian member of Parliament (and Prime Minister-in-waiting. They discuss his role as Leader of the Opposition, the untapped energy sector, the real reason Canadians cannot afford homes, how Chief Walking Goose (aka Justin Trudeau) has walked the country off a cliff, and what will likely happen in the run-up to the much-anticipated 2025 election.

This video has received nearly a 1.4 million views so far, and is well worth watching in full, but if you can't handle it all at once, there's a chapter index on the YouTube page.

This video has nothing to do with hockey or the weather, but we hope our Canadian readers and friends will be sufficiently motivated to get involved, and not make the same mistake they made three times already!

Matt Taibbi stands up for free speech at "Rescue the Republic"

"...every American has a little bit of asshole in him. William Blake said, 'Always be ready to speak your mind and a base man will avoid you.' Some struggle with this concept. Americans are born knowing it.... Propaganda is...always someone trying to make you feel bad for their weakness, their mistakes. Don’t be ground down by it. Stand up straight and give it back."
Matt Taibbi, speaking at Rescue the Republic, 29/9/24.

How I wish I'd been there! Rescue the Republic was a one-day celebration of freedom, organized by jointheresistance.org, yesterday in Washington DC. The event featured an all-star cast of musical artists, comedians, and thought leaders, including Dr Jordan Peterson, Tulsi Gabbard, Russell Brand, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Matt Taibbi.

Yes, it's the same Matt Taibbi who wrote Smells Like Dead Elephants and several other good books of social and political commentary. He used to be a raging liberal. In recent times, he has had his eyes opened and now subscribes to the Rescue the Republic credo, which you'll see below. Click here to read the complete transcript of Mr Taibbi's speech

In the promotional material for Rescue the Republic, the organizers say, "Let’s come together to celebrate the essence of what makes America and the West so special." Walt says AMEN. Wish I'd been there....

UPDATED: Rex Murphy, RIP + VIDEO of Jordan Peterson interview

Rex Murphy, the witty, voluble, and, above all, Canadian writer and broadcaster, has died, of cancer, at age 77. RIP+.

For decades, Mr Murphy was a fixture of the Canadian commentariat, writing and speaking primarily on political and social matters.

For some time he was politically correct enough to have regular gigs with the CBC, Canada's liberal state broadcaster. He did POV pieces during the national news, and was the host of CBC Radio's "Cross-Country Checkup", a nationwide call-in show, for 21 years ending in 2015.

He also wrote op-ed pieces for the Globe and Mail, Canada's self-styled national newspaper, which has become nothing more than the print version of the CBC.

As the Groan and Wail moved left, Mr Murphy moved right, and, in 2010, was one of the first victims of cancel culture. The National Post, founded by arch-conservative Conrad Black, snapped him up, and he wrote for them as often as he could right up till this week. His last column, on Prime Minister McBlackface's two-faced stance on the Hamas atrocities of October 7th, appeared on the front page of the Post's print edition the day before his death.

Rex Murphy was born in Carbonear, Newfoundland in 1947, before that province even was a province, to Harry and Marie Murphy, the second of five children. He grew up in the community of Freshwater, about ten minutes up the road. He skipped two grades and eventually, in 1968, headed to Oxford as a Rhodes scholar, before returning home and, after bailing on a Master of English degree, settled into a very long and very fruitful career in the media.

A collection of Mr Murphy's columns, reviews and commentaries has been published in two books: Points of View and Canada And Other Matters of Opinion. Walt recommends them both. Even if you don't share his political views, you can't help but admire his command of the English language. Perhaps being from Newfoundland had something to do with it.

In the last years of his life, Rex Murphy embraced the Internet, creating podcasts and his own YouTube channel, REXTV. In tribute to Rex, and to perpetuate his memory, I've chosen to repost his November 2019 interview with Dr Jordan Peterson. The two very learned gentlemen talk for almost an hour about the modern state of education, politics, identity, and the new media. You won't hear intelligent and astute commentary like this any more. Not from Rex at least. I miss him already.

Further reading: Tributes to Mr Murphy are appearing all over the Internet. Here are two which Walt thinks are pictularly good.

"Rex Murphy was the true guardian of Canadian identity — not the pretenders on the left", by Father Raymond J. de Souza, in the National Post, 10/5/24. Mr Murphy's full name, according to Father de Souza, was Robert Rex Raphael Murphy. Who knew?!

"No one could outsmart or outword Rex Murphy — I miss you, my friend", by Peter Mansbridge, the last good host of the CBC's national TV news, in the National Post, 10/5/24.

I wouldn't even attempt to write such eloquent farewell pieces. I can only add: Rex, ave atque vale.

VIDEO: Latest news and views from Michael Matt at Remnant TV

It's been a while since we reposted a video featuring Michael Matt, the editor of The Remnant newspaper. The recently concluded Synod on Synodality (which we thought would be the Synod of Sin) turned out to be something of a damp squib, just a continuation of the "church of accompaniment" nonsense dreamed up by Jorge Bergoglio, the man who calls himself "Pope Francis".

There wasn't a whole lot there to talk about, so in this week's video Mr Matt talks about a potpourri of other things, notably Francis' dismissal from office of Most Rev. Joseph Strickland, now the former Bishop of Tyler TX.

But there's much more. Listen as Dr Jordan Peterson (!) talks about the power of the Rosary. As Mr Matt says, "Looks like God’s coming back, and he’s bringing hell with him." Here's the video.

Even if you're not Catholic, you need to be concerned about the crisis in the Church. Ever since the "progressives" started their campaign to weaken and ultimately destroy Holy Mother of Church, the entire Western world has fallen into a state of decay.

The war on the Church is a war on our entire society! We must resist Francis and all the enemies of Holy Mother Church, both without and within! Join us in this prayer: Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

VIDEO: Michael Matt: Canuck residential schools hoax exposed

In the Great No-longer-white North, the latest sin against political correctness and the progressive agenda is residential school denialism. "Wozzat?" (I hear you ask.) According to the Royal Society of Canada -- a club for the intelligentsia (read: liberal elites) -- it's "a strategy used to manipulate and undermine the realities of Indigenous Peoples' painful experiences under Canadian colonialism to protect the status quo."

Is that woke, or what? But wait, there's more. In the very next sentence, university professors (of course) Daniel Heath Justice [sic] and Sean Carleton go on to say: "An honest accounting of the past makes possible an honourable future — but only if Canadians have the courage to face it."

Source: Truth before reconciliation: 8 ways to identify and confront Residential School denialism. Check it out for yourself but make sure you have a barf bag handy. And take note that this piece of agitprop was published on 25 August 2021.

In the two years since then, the whole residential schools "genocide" hoax has come crashing down, as investigation of the supposed "mass graves" has found not one body... not one set of remains... no evidence to substantiate the claims of the anti-Catholic secular humanists who dominate the Canadian polity.

Check out this video, featuring Michael Matt, editor of The Remnant newspaper, with clips from an interview with Dr Jordan Peterson.

Click here to see "We're ready for your apology", the complete episode posted yesterday to Remnant TV. And please remember, the liberal agenda is not just anti-Catholic. It's anti-Christian! As Mr Matt says at the end of the clip we've selected, the only was to fight back against the Great Reset is to not comply! Hold the line!

VIDEO: Dr Jordan Peterson faces Oppenheimer-style persecution

Earlier this morning we posted "'OPPENHEIMER', a cautionary tale", a review of the movie which revealed the travesty of justice which was the 1954 hearing of the US Atomic Energy Commission, which revoked the security clearance of Dr J. Robert Oppenheimer, "the father of the atomic bomb", because (the AEC found) he was, if not a Communist, then at least a fellow-traveller and comsymp.

After watching the movie, Mrs Walt likened the persecution of Dr Oppenheimer to the poresent-day string of indictments and politically motivated prosecutions launched against President Donald Trump, for the purpose of keeping him off the ballot in the 2024 presidential election. Canadians may smugly say that kind of thing could only happen in the Paranoid States of America. They would be wrong. The same thing is happening today, in the Great No-longer-white North, to Dr Jordan Peterson.

Last wednesday, Ontario's Divisional Court upheld a ruling ordering the eminent but controversial psychologist to undergo "social media training" or risk losing his licence, following complaints about his controversial online posts and statements.

The court said it was undeterred by Dr Peterson's claims that his public statements were "off-the-clock" activities -- not part of his practice as a psychologist. Even if that were so, they declared, Dr. Peterson is a psychologist, and his activities were therefore "harmful to the public and damaging to the profession of psychology" and his statements "threatened to erode public trust."

The court dismissed Peterson's appeal against the College of Psychologists' order,  and directed him to pay C$25,000 (over $18,000 in real money), noting that the training "is not disciplinary and does not prevent Dr. Peterson from expressing himself on controversial topics."

In the video below, Dr Peterson says that's ridiculous! If he hadn't expressed himeself in the so-called social media, why would he have been hailed before the College and the courts? He became famous in 2016 after criticizing Bill C-16, claiming that the bill would enforce speech codes and harm free speech. This earned him a reputation for being "transphobic"/

He came under court scrutiny again last year as a result of complaints filed against him for his online commentary on issues like climate change, gender transitioning, and Covid policy, and against key members of the Canadian government like Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who he called the worst prime minister Canada ever had. [Just stating the obvious. Walt]

It was statements like that, made and reposted on multiple Twitter accounts, that were submitted to the College and later the court, not by any of his patients, but by "progressive" wokesters who felt and said that saying (or even thinking!) such things is "unacceptable". What they really meant is that Dr Peterson must be silenced, cast into outer darkness. Just like President Trump.

Here, then, is Dr Peterson's analysis of and response to the court's decision. Note his promise to take the matter all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada. But there's more. He promises (or threatens, the lefties would say) to make the "retraining" (if it happens!) public, so the world can see the "retraining" for the woke brainwashing that it really is. "If you think that you have a right to free speech in Canada, you're delusional. I will make every aspect of this public and we will see what happens when utter transparency is the rule. Bring it on."

Further viewing: "Ontario College of Psychologists Have Asked Me to Re-Educate Jordan Peterson!". Psychologist Gad Saad reviews the 16 points which Dr Peterson is supposed to embrace in order to keep his licence. I had to listen very carefully to be sure Dr Saad wasn't serious about the "re-education lobotomy". Highly recommended!

Everything happened at once, Part 2

Pierre Poilievre, the new Conservative (?) leader

Over four months ago, I told you that Pierre Poilievre, was the front-runner in the race to become the third leader of the so-called Conservative Party of Canada since the defeat of Steve Harpoon in 2015.

Last night, in the greatest non-event shown on Canadian TV since the Toronto Maple Leafs bowed out of the first round of last spring's Stanley Cup playoffs, M Poilievre won the leadership on the first ballot, garnering 68% of the points available. Jean Charest, the ex-Liberal still-liberal candidate, finished a distant second, with 16%.

M Poilievre urged Canucks to Ètake back control of your life!" Now that he has won the party, and has a good chance of winning the country, M Charest's supporters, the liberals, the leftists and the lickspittle media of Canuckistan are quaking in their boots that he will do what he promised.

The meme above was published during the leadership campaign and was (I supposed) meant to scare people into voting for a "less extreme" candidate. If I had been voting, I would have taken the likening of Pierre Poilievre to Dr Jordan Peterson as a ringing endorsement.

After two leaders who apparently stood for nothing, Canada's Conservatives desperately need a leader who espouses and will fight for conservative values. Alas, I told you in "The problem with Poilievre" (WWW 30/4/22), M Poilievre is not that man. He is pro-abortion, pro-immigration, and pro-queer. The real conservative candidate was Leslyn Lewis, who finished third.

So when the inevitable Rosie Tuchhus, covering the proceedings on CBC-TV, said Lucky Pierre would have to move to the centre and adopt a more moderate, conciliatory tone, in order to win the country, she was wrong. The attack dog won't change, because he doesn't need to.

M Poilievre has identified and tapped into the anger most Canadians feel about inflation, the lack of affordable housing, and the endless "mandates" (e.g. the ArriveCAN app) which take away their freedom. Thus he has created a populist groundswell similar to that which propelled President Trump into the Oval Office, all without straying from the path of political correctness on the issues which count for true conservatives.

He preaches classic conservatism -- smaller government; getting natural resources to market; less government interference in people's personal and professional lives; ending the Liberals' efforts to censor the Internet; defunding the CBC and ending media bailouts; and fiscal restraint, after a long period without it.

All those policies find favour not just with hard-right conservatives, but the average Canuck. The chattering classes spent hours trying to figure out M Poilievre's appeal to young Canadians, who turned out in 1000s at his rallies. It wasn't hard to understand. They are looking, hoping... and will be voting... for at least a partial return to the lifestyle their parents and grandparents enjoyed. Or just some help paying the bills. Or just to be left alone.

That's why Pierre Poilievre will knock the socks off Blackie McBlackface in the next election, whenever it comes. You read it here first!

VIDEO: Dr Jordan Peterson on the true nature of the war in Ukraine

About a month ago, Dr Jordan Peterson (for whom Walt has all the time in the world!) wrote an article for the Daily Wire entitled "Russia Vs. Ukraine Or Civil War In The West?" In this thought-provoking piece, Dr Peterson listed the reasons why we're seeing an extended conflict in Ukraine, and explains why a culture war in the West has fueled the Russian fire.

Since the Daily Wire is accessible only to members, the article was not widely read or circulated. So Dr Peterson read it aloud on his YouTube channel. Click here to watch the entire video. It's over 51 minutes long. If you're thinking that's too much -- some other time, perhaps -- Ed. has prepared the clip below in which Dr Peterson sums up his message of warning.

We hope you will now be motivated to click on the link to the full video to understand why there's much more to the war in Ukraine than just resisting Russian imperialism. Those who, like Walt, cherish the ideal of a free and independent Ukraine, need to take a broader and deeper view of the conflict.

We cannot be assured that we are on The Right Side until we understand the moral, philosophical and ideological positions of the combatants. If it comes down to a civil war between those who stand for the values of Christian civilization and those who espouse today's politically orthodox secular humanism, whose side should we take?

Thanks to Agent 9 for pointing us in the right direction.

VIDEO: Hungarians overwhelmingly reject LGBT gender ideology

Further to "A victory for Christian democratic, conservative, patriotic politics", Walt is grateful to "CookeV" for posting this comment in the Globe & Mail report on the referendum which was included in this weekend's Hungarian election.

Along with the election, a referendum was held on four LGBT questions. There was a 50% voter-turnout threshold needed for the results to be valid, which was not met with the percentage sitting at about 44% as I write this. Nevertheless, of those 44% valid votes, here are the results:

Do you support the holding of a sexual orientation session for minor children in a public educational institution without the consent of the parent? Yes: 7.66%, No: 92.34%
Do you support promoting gender reassignment treatments for underage children? Yes: 4.11%, No: 95.89%
Do you support the introduction of sexual media content to minor children that affects their development without restrictions? Yes: 4.68%, No: 95.32%
Do you support showing media to minors showing gender change? Yes: 4.83%, No: 95.17%

What's interesting was the spoilage rate at about 20%. Leading up to the referendum, LGBT activists had encouraged voters to spoil their ballots to prevent the 50% turnout threshold from being met. Which looks like is what occurred.

And yes, Ed. found a very appropriate video: "Jordan Peterson debunks leftist gender ideology in 8 minutes". Here it is.

What's the matter with Americans and Canadians that they can't see through this liberal "woke" plot to emasculate men and destoy what's left of our Christian civilization?!

VIDEO: "The Catastrophe of Canada": Jordan Peterson & Rex Murphy

On Saturday, while cops imported from Toronto, Vancouver and elsewhere in Canada were attacking peaceful protesters in Ottawa, Canada, Dr Jordan Peterson got together with fellow-Canuck author and pundit Rex Murphy to discuss the most recent anti-democratic actions of the Liberal government of Prime Minister Blackie McBlackface.

Those actions included the arresting of protestors -- see footnote -- and the freezing (read: seizure or theft) of the bank accounts of Canadians suspected of participating in the protests. I gave an example of the latter in my introduction to Michael Matt's latest video, posted yeseterday.

The most significant part of this hour-long interview, IMHO, is the discussion (and proof) of collusion between Trudeau's misgovernment and Canada's controlled media. Make no mistake, Canada's "legacy media" are (with the possible exception of the National Post) bought and owned by the Liberals.

Not just the CBC -- funded by taxpayers' money -- but the privately owned media, notably the Toronto (Red) Star, which Dr Peterson says has just asked for a $60,000,000 handout from Trudeau because it (gasp!) lost money last year! See "CBC bias on full display in coverage of Freedom Convoy, Coastal GasLink protests" by Father Raymond J. de Souza, National Post, 19/2/22.

And then there's Canadian banks, heretofore regarded as safe and sensible custodians of your money -- "you" including not just Canucks but foreigners who entrust their funds to all banks regulated and controlled by the Ottawa government.

When ordered by the government to freeze the accounts of the supporters of the Freedom Convoy (and anyone else the Liberals don't like), the Canadian banks caved without a whimper, without any regard to Section 8 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which supposedly protects Canadians from unreasonable search and seizure. Shameful!

Thanks to Agent 6 for sending us the link to this must-read video.

Footnote: Ontario's Special Investigations Unit, which is charged with finding police not responsible for any injuries or deaths resulting from "interactions with police", is looking into the "incident" in which a Toronto mounted policeman -- well, his horse, at least -- trampled on an old lady with a walker. You can see it in Michael Matt's video, posted here yesterday

They are also "investigating" reports that Vancouver cops, in Ottawa for the occasion, fired "non-lethal rounds" and pepper spray at the peaceful demonstrators. Walt predicts that the cops involved will be found to be acting in self-defence against "white supremacists waving Confederate flags and shouting hateful things." [Like "Fuck Trudeau!"? Ed.] Lifetime pct .982.

See "Police Confirm Probe into Alleged Officer Texts Celebrating Trampling Protesters", Breitbart News, 21/2/22. What else did anyone expect? That's what cops do. Bullies with badges.

Further (very funny?) reading: "Canadian ATMs Now Asking Your Political Views Before Allowing You To Withdraw Money", from the Babylon Bee (surprised?), 18/2/22. Lede: Under orders from the Supreme Chancellor of the People's Republic of Canada Justin Trudeau, all bank ATMs across the provinces will now require anyone attempting to withdraw money from their accounts to take a small quiz on their political beliefs.

VIDEO: Jordan Peterson speaks out on Canuck Freedom Convoy

The Canuck truckers' occupation of downtown Ottawa in the name of freedom continues. Dr Jordan Peterson -- one of those "old stock Canadians" that Prime Minister Blackie McBlackface hates -- recorded this brief message to provincial premiers Premiers Jason Kenney, Scott Moe and Doug Ford, as well as Erin O'Toole, leader of the pseudo-conservative party. Mr Peterson says, "What are you waiting for? This is your moment. Seize the day!"

Footnote: The Canadian lickspittle media are not sure, today, whether to be mad or glad that 35 Cuckservative Members of Parliament have filed a petition demanding a caucus vote on Mr O'Tool's "leadership". The Notional Pest quotes him as saying, "I'm not going anywhere!" Ain't that the truth!

The vote could be held as early as the morning of tomorrow -- Groundhog Day. If Mr O'Tool sees his shadow, he is obliged to resign, triggering yet another leadership convention. Rumours that Maxime Bernier will present himself as a candidate are totally unfounded.

UPDATED: Toronto Star on the Canuck truckers' Freedom Rally

Of all the lickspittle libtard Canadian media, the Toronto Star is the leftist and the lamest -- bought and paid for by the Liberal Party back in the daze of Mackenzie King. Here's their editorial cartoon on the Freedom Rally being held today (and possibly for some time to come) in the second-coldest national capital in the world.

Dr Jordan Peterson tweets: Canadian. Fascists. Think about that. From the poison pen of the Toronto Star. Friend to the working class. Except when they have opinions.

No wonder that miserable purveyor of fake news is otherwise known as the Toronto Red Star

UPDATED at 1335. An assiduous reader has pointed out that this editorial cartoon was drawn by Michael Adder, for... wait for it... the Washington Post. Surprised? [Is he by any chance a puff adder? Ed.]

Here's how many of the trailers really look.

VIDEO: Journalists out Canuck media's lack of balance on Covid "crisis"

You think the American lamestream media are guilty of pushing the Dempanic button over the Wuhan flu? At least in the Excited States you can get a reasonable facsimile of the truth on Fox News -- important because it's on "real TV" -- and Breitbart News. In Canada there are no TV channels which don't toe the Liberal government line on the Covid "crisis" and everything else.

When it comes to telling the truth, or even giving a choice of opinions, the lickspittle media are failing Canadians! That's the message of Candice Malcolm's interview with Toronto Sun comment editor and columnist Anthony Furey, contrasting the more balanced coverage of the US media with the relentless stream of liberal propaganda broadcast 24/7 by the Canadian "Big Three" - CBC, CTV, and Global -- and echoed by City and lesser outlets.

Dr Jordan Peterson watched this interview and tweeted this trenchant comment. "The legacy media are in an unrecoverable death spiral, spinning ever more uncontrollably. The CBC has become a mewling, meandering, self-righteous, slogan-spewing narcissistic near-corpse."

I wish I'd said that! With the "progressives" and their sycophantic propoagandists in the media, everything is a "crisis". Covid. Climate change. Opiods. Homelessness. Refugees. Everything!

The only good news is that even sheeplike Canucks are getting tired of listening to the media boys (and gals and trannies) cry wolf. In Canada, just as in the US of A, yearend sales and ratings statistics show that establishment media outlets are being abandoned, as liberal control of  "the news" is rejected by the very audiences the lickspittle media seeks to braInwash.

VIDEO: Michael Matt on Jordan Peterson's "Warning to the World"

Last Sunday was the first Sunday of Advent, the season in which Christians prepare for the coming of the Light -- Jesus Christ -- into the darkness of the world. It's a pretty dark world we live in right now, and many people are looking for a light, a truth, to live by during these hard times.

Among them is Dr Jordan Peterson, whose videos have been reposted here many times. Dr Peterson is a very wise man, wise enough to know he doesn't have all the answers. As he tells us at the beginning of this video, he too is searching for the verities of the Eternal Truth.

Then Michael Matt, editor of The Remnant newspaper, explains why he believes the Truth is to be found in the Catholic Church. In just ten minutes he describes (much more powerfully than I could) why he is a traditional Catholic, and why we must pray and, yes, fight harder now than ever to make the Truth of the Faith known and believed.

This video was excerpted from "THE ONE WORLD RELIGION: Francis and the Abrahamic Family House", first posted on Remnant TV in November. We omitted the first part of the original, in which Mr Matt gives his further thoughts on the Covid "crisis".

Part of our edited version was further edited by YouTube to cut out video of Pope Bergoglio signing an agreement with Muslim leaders to build a church next to a mosque and a synagogue in Abu Dhabi. The organization objecting to that being seen is called "the Committee for Human Fraternity". That tells you all you need to know, right there. Click on the link to hear the entire, uncensored program on Remnant TV.

Let us close with the Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel. Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

VIDEO: Canadian election: Dr Jordan Peterson talks with Max Bernier

Right from the day Prime Minister Blackie McBlackface called the totally unnecessary general election to be held on September 20th, the Canadian media -- bought and paid for by the Liberal government -- have pretended that Maxime Bernier and his People's Party of Canada don't exist. So also with the pollsters and, as reported here, the "non-partisan" (HA!) Leaders' Debate Commission

There was, and still is, a rather obvious conspiracy to silence any voices not subscribing to the liberal orthodoxy. It has become impossible, just this week, for the elites and their controlled media to ignore "Mad Max" and the PPC any longer. Just today a poll by the liberal Nick Nanos showed the PPC with over 7% support nationwide, compared with the 2% of the popular vote which they garnered in the 2019 election.

The so-called (but not really) Conservatives, and their leader Erin O'Toole, are quaking in their boots, fearing that the PPC will bleed off just enough of their support to ensure a win for the loathsome Liberals.

Dr Jordan Peterson, well known as a voice of conservative reason in a loony liberal world, invited both M Bernier and Mr O'Tool to discuss their positions, and the future of conservatism in Canada. Mr O'Tool declined. So now we have Dr Peterson's wide-ranging interview with M Bernier, recorded yesterday. If you have yet to hear M Bernier explain himself and his aims, here's your chance.

Further viewing: "The Great Non-Debate - Part 3", WWW 10/9/21 -- Lauren Chen debriefs Max Bernier and David Freiheit, the PPC candidate in the riding of Montréal-Westmount.

Now, for the last time: Walt's advice for conservative Canucks, and everyone else who's sick of Just In Trudeau and all his pomps and wokeness:
If you live in a riding where the Conservative candidate is in a close race with the Liberals or NDP, hold your nose and vote for him/her.
If you're in a Québec riding where the Cons have little chance, vote for the PPC if they have a decent chance of winning, otherwise for the Bloc.
In all other circumstances, cast your ballot for the only party that offers a real conservative alternative -- Maxime Bernier's People's Party of Canada.

Unless something really astounding happens this weekend, this will likely be my last post until Tuesday. I am planning to be somewhere north of the World's Longest Undefended Border to watch the returns come in on Monday. It promises to be a long and interesting night.

VIDEO: Dr Jordan Peterson interviews Rex Murphy

From time to time we've featured words written and spoken by one of our favourite political and social commentators, Rex Murphy. Mr Murphy is best known for working for the CBC (Canadian Broadcorping Castration) in the days when they allowed at least the occasional piece of non-liberal commentary.

He also wrote for the Globe and Mail, before it too got woke, and is currently contributing columns to the National Post. Mr Murphy is almost as old as Walt, but still a strong voice for conservatism... true conservatism... and common sense.

He has a podcast on which he has hosted many controversial personalities, including Dr Jordan Peterson, another of Walt's favourites. Here, in a case of turnabout, is Dr Peterson's interview with Mr Murphy, published today.

This is a long piece -- two-and-a-quarter hours -- for the very good reason that they cover a lot of ground. Topics include Mr Murphy's impressive career, Canadian politics, western culture, the woke culture wars, the liberal orthodoxy of universities, the crumbling study of the humanities, New Finland, Toronto, and much more. I suggest you bookmark it and dip in when you have some time to put to good use.

Dr Jordan Peterson and Rex Murphy... inspiration for proudly conseervative (but humble!) scriveners like yr obdt servant. Two thumbs up!
