Walt is back at home, pondering the future of post-Trudeau Canuckistan. TBH, there isn't much to ponder. Canadians inexplicably voted for a continuation of the misgovernment of Emperor Trudeau II, with the same people -- not one new face -- propping up elitest One-Worlder and new Dear Leader Mark Carnage.

The hapless Plain People of Canada are unlikely to see any change from the insanely woke social and economic policies of Blackie McBlackface. The hated carbon tax will be resurrected under a new euphemism. Alberta's oil and gas will be left in the ground while eastern Canuckistan imports oil from Saudi Arabia. And Canada will welcome (NOT!) a new wave of "refugees" from Greater America. 

The 2025 election will prove to be largely meaningless for Canadians... on the surface. But the resuscitation of the moribund Liberal Party of Canada has deeper meaning for the country and the rest of the world. - Cuckservative leader Pierre Poilievre declared defeated in his own riding at 0443 EDT. 91 candidates on the ballot there in chaos orchestrated by advocates of proportional representation.

- Most incumbent cabinet ministers re-elected. Carnage cabinet will be same as Trudeau's, as they rearrange the deck chairs.

- Demented Joe Biden (or someone typing for him) goes on social media to congratulate Carnage on win for "liberal values".

- Southwestern Ontario, where they make all the cars Trump wants to tariffs, goes solidly Conservative in spite of union endorsements of NDP. Workers ignore union leadership.

- In victory speech, Carney sez, "Trump is trying to break us so that America can own us. That will never, that will never ever happen. But…we also must recognize the reality that our world has fundamentally changed." Well, duh!

That's all we have for you as dawn comes up like thunder over our cabin in the pines. Maybe there'll be more after Walt wakes up.

Canucks, read before you vote! Another warning about Mark Carney

It is now less than 24 hours before Canadians go to the polls to elect a new (Conservative) government (as Walt recommends) or re-elect a tired, old (Liberal) one. 

Walt apologize for not having written more about the 2025 election. It seemed as if not many of our readers were interested. Sleepwalking towards a fate worse than becoming the 51st state. In a last-minute effort to warn Canucks of the danger of voting to re-elect Blackie McBlackface's chosen successor, I refer you to Canada's Greatest Crook: How Canada Was Sold Without a Vote, by Adrian C. Spitters, CFP®.  

Mr Spitters is not just a CFP®  but, as his writings reveal, a gold bug, but that's OK because in his article, he is right on target about the Liberals' "five-year plan of deception, offshore manoeuvres, and political installation executed without consent to erase Canadian sovereignty." You need a LinkedIn account to follow the link, so, for those who don't have such, here are the key points. The emphasis is Walt's.

Election 2025: Are the Liberals going to fool Canadians a fourth time?

By the time you read this, Walt will be in Canada. [Too bad he didn't make it for last night's beyond-thrilling game between Washington and the Habs! Ed.] His mission is to find out whether the Canucks can really be so dumb as to re-elect the Trudeau Liberals, now fronted by Mark Carney, the member of the Laurentian elite who is already being called the Manchurian candidate.

Today's Toronto Sun editorial endorsing the opposition Conservatives, catalogues the many instances of Liberal corruption, incompetence, negligence and plain studity, including these.

* Out-of-control spending has massively increased the size and cost of the federal bureaucracy.  * Government spending on outside consultants skyrocketed to more than $15 billion in the 2022-23 fiscal year. 

* Sustainable Developoment Technology Canada, the jolly green slush fund, violated its conflict of interest policies 90 times, and awarded $59 million to 10 projects that were not eligible and frequently overstated the environmental benefits of its projects. 

* Meanwhile, Canada's armed forces were shamefully nickel-and-dimed, and defence spending became an international embarrassment. 

There's more, lots more misgovernment, but we only have so much space. The point is that the leader of the Liberal government may be different, but his cabinet isn’t. As the Tories' TV commercials say, it's the same old Toronto-Ottawa-Montréal liberal elites, with a new(ish) puppet out front.

Some might also say their branding is new. How do you like "Canada strong" for a persuasive election slogan? Eh? Agent 3 guesses that the Gliberals think Canuck voters have forgotten "The land is strong", a slogan coined by the late Rainmaker, Senator Keith Davey (L) for the 1972 federal election which resulted in a very slim victory for the Libereals, led by... wait for it... Trudeau -- Pierre that is, not Justin.

Maybe that's the problem, a kind of collective amnesia which has caused Canadians to forget, in less than three months, the endless stream of scandals, boondoggles and incompetent decisions inflicted on them for nearly ten years by the government of Trudeau the Son. 

Mr Carney is being hailed as a miracle worker who will single-handedly sweep aside all the problems faced by the Great No-longer-white North. But his cabinet cabinet is populated with the same people, reappointed by him when he assumed office, who brought us such examples of misrule as:

* The ArriveCAN scandal, which in 2020 saw almost $60 million spent on a sole-sourced contract for an app that's now not used and which a private developer said could have been developed over a weekend for a fraction of the price. 

* A massive increase of immigration, legal or illegal, by millions of foreigners who cannot or will not assimilate into Canadian culture, with no plan to house or otherwise accommodate them, other than to put them up in hotels at taxpayers' expense.

Until just this week, when the Liberals' lead in the opinion polls narrowed somewhat, all predictions have been that the man with the widow's hump would storm to victory, in spite of his total lack of charisma or ability to tell the truth about anything.

Mr Carnage's lead in the polls is slowly shrinking. Some models now suggest that a hung parliament is a strong possibility. But it could be worse than that for the poster boy for the WEF. His political inexperience, arrogant behaviour, massive ego, aloofness and reportedly "volcanic temper" have been on full display during the campaign. 

Don’t be surprised, then, if Monday's election result resembles the narrow victory of Emperor Trudeau the First in 1972, or... many Canadians hope and pray... a win, however narrow, for the Conservatives, whom Walt endorses. 

Canadians have had a chance to get to know the white knight who has entered the lists to save the Liberals from electoral disaster, and find that the more they know him, the less they like him. He did poorly in the two leaders' debates. He has swiped ideas from the Conservatives, kept most of Junior's Trudeau’s loony social and economic policies, and has suggested almost nothing new. 

Surely Canucks, distracted though they may be by Trump's trolling and the hockey playoffs, aren't going to be fooled a fourth time! Stay tuned!

Canadian political leaders debate -- what they REALLY said

We don't like to interrupt the Easter Triduum with worldly affairs, but since the Liberal government of Canuckistan has chosen to schedule the only face-to-face election debates with its opponents for the middle of Holy Week, we must devote today's post to the correction of misinformation, disinformation and false impressions created by the version of the English-language debate broadcast by the lickspittle, bought-and-paid-for "mainstream media".

Dear Canadian readers, what you saw on Thursday evening was not the real verbal exchange between Prime Minister pro tem Mark Carnage, Cuckservative leader Pierre "Pipi" Poilievre, and pinko socialist Sikh leader Jugmeat Singh. The "debate" you saw was generated by AI to make it appear as if Canada's "leaders" have at least the first clue about how to fix the No-longer-great No-longer-white North. Here's a summary of what they really said. 

Dear Canadian voters, the advance polls are open today and (sadly) on Easter Sunday. Get out there and vote for the least of the three evils. [He means Poilievre. Ed.]

A meme for Canadians deciding how to vote

Regular readers know that we run a lot of memes from the Memesters Union at the Patriot Post. Today we have something from north of the World's Longest Partially Defended Border (TM), which we're sure expresses the feelings of a great many Canadians.

Canadian voters: Don't say you weren't warned!

Dear Canadian friends, please don't be snowed [Geddit? Ed.] by all the paid advertising -- 

and propagands from the lickspittle media, who are also bought and paid for -- about the new Dear Leader of the Liberal Party and unelected Prime Minister of Canada. 

His apologists are trying to paint him as a soft, sensible, middle-of-the-road statesman, an ultra-nice Canuck kid with no agenda other than saving the Great No-longer-white North from the evil Orange Man. Walt calls BS on all that!

The truth about Mr Carnage's plans to finish the job started by the Trudeaus (père et fils) and make Canada a part of the Davos gang's New World Order are to be found in his own words in his book Values.

Values reads like a sermon from a high priest of globalism... which, come to think of it, it is. It's "polished, preachy, and packed with ideas that should send shivers down the spine of anyone who cares about Canada’s economy, especially Western energy producers.

"Writing as the former Bank of Canada governor and a darling of the Liberal elite, Carney pitches a vision of 'sustainable finance', net-zero absolutism, and heavy-handed regulation. To the National Citizens Coalition, it's clear: this isn't a roadmap to prosperity, it's a wrecking ball aimed at the heart of Canada’s resource sector and the West's economic lifeline."

Your Singhs today (Canadian election edition)

One week into the campaign -- just four left -- and things are not looking good for the pinko NDP (New Democratic Party, which is neither "new" nor "democratic"). Under the leadership of Jagmeet Singh, it has sunk to single digits in the polls -- right down there with the Green Party, the People's Party of Canada (too bad, Max!) and None of the Above. 

To make matters worse, the Knee-Dippers are already out of money. Changes in election financing law some years back put a stop to the cash flow from union checkoffs, and the blue-collar types who used to vote NDP have left it to the Volvo progressives, who drive Volvos because they don't give their money away.

So Jugmeet Singh and his advisors have had to come up with a new fundraising scheme. Here it is.

Sikh mothers across Canada (especially the many in Brampton ON and Surrey BC) are being used to donate at least one of their daughters for the good of the cause. "One girl more or less, makes no difference. Plenty more where they came from!"

Canadian election: Whose side is Trump on?

For our readers who don't live in the People's Republic of Canuckistan, here's a quick guide to what's happening in the general election, set for April 28th.

On the left in the photos below -- but not so hard left as his loony colleagues Steven Guilbeault and Chrystia Freeland -- is Mark Carney, leader of the Gliberal Party of Canada.Unlike the other two, Mr Carnage has never been elected to anything. But was Governor of the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England. He is a banker, and a member of the WEF liberal elite.

On the right -- but not so hard right as his former colleague Maxime Bernier, now leader of the People's Party of Canada -- is Pierre Poilievre, leader of the Conservative Party of Canada. Mr Poilievre is a much-elected politician and former member of the cabinet of the much-unloved Steven Harpoon. This is his first test as leader of the Cuckservatives.

M Poilievre dislikes being referred to as "Pipi" (American readers note: it's pronounced "pee-pee".) He enjoyed being called "Canada's Donald Trump"... until recently.

For you see, gentle reader, the vast [or at least half-vast. Ed.] majority of Canucks dislike President Donald J. Trump. Intensely. Their fear and loathing of the Donald [That would make a good book title. If only HST were still alive. Ed.] has intensified since January 20th, owing to Mr Trump's straight-faced suggestions that Canada shoujld become the 51st of the Excited States of Canada, and his nonsensical campaign of tariffs to make it so.

The Liberal propagandists who run the state-owned CB C (Canadian Broadcorping Castration) as well and other lickspittle media (CBC) have put together a surprisingly effective TV commerical in which they juxtapose quotes from President Trump with quotes from Pipi, which shows them to be saying basically the same things. 

They're painting M Poilievre as "just like Trump", and it seems to be working. The Tories have plummeted in the polls while the Liberals have risen, and now lead by around five points. Having a new leader to replace the hated Emperor Trudeau has helped the Grits, but it's the comparison with POTUS that bites the Cuckservatives in the ass.

A few days before the election was called, President Trump made public out his unflattering opinion of M Poilievre, saying he is "not a MAGA guy." Pouncing on the chance to distance himself from Mr Trump, Pipi responded on X, "Mr President, it is true. I am not MAGA. I am for Canada First. Always. Canada has always been America’s best friend & ally. But we will NEVER be the 51st state."

President Trump attacked M Poilievre during a nearly hour-long interview with Ben Domenech, editor-at-large at the British magazine The Spectator. He warned Pipi not to make the mistake of thinking he will "be the tough guy"” and "knock out Trump. They all make that mistake… They end up getting the hell beat out of them."

Will saying that President Trump doesn't like him help the Cuckservative leader at the polls in which Canada's relations with the US of A be the chief issue? Was Mr Trump trying to give M Poilievre a boost by putting daylight between them? Is a puzzlement, especially given his Big Friendly Phone Call with the new Liberal leader yesterday..

Prime Minister Carnage and President Trump held their first-ever conversation on Friday, after which the former announced that they had agreed to comprehensive negotiations... after the upcoming federal election. Presumably if M Poilievre wins all bets are off.

"The spirit of the call was both cordial and focused on making progress," Mr Carney told the assembled lapdogs at a campaign event in  Montréal later in the day. You could almost hear the smirk on his face as he said, "The president respected Canada’s sovereignty today, both in his private and public comments."

Until yesterday, Mr Trump repeatedly trolled former PM Blackie McBlackiface, calling him "Governor Trudeau" of the hypothetical 51st state. But after the call, POTUS repeatedly referred to Mr Carnage as "prime minister".

And there was more (comparative) sweetness and light. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, President Trump said he will "absolutely" follow through on his threat of large-scale tariffs if Canada take actions against the American economy. Yet he also toned down his language toward Canada, who he has previously accused of ripping off and "cheating" the US of A on trade but declined to say so again. 

"I'm not referring to Canada," he said pointedly, "but many other countries have been taking advantage of us... We had a very good talk, the prime minister and myself, and I think things are going to work out very well between Canada and the United States."

What's going on? Why the sudden change of tone? Are yesterday's statements meant to help Mr Carnage by showing that Mr Trump can get along with him? Or to hurt Mr Carnage by showing that Mr Trump can get along with him? How would I know? President Trump's logic is too deep for me. I need my hip-waders.

Canuckistan's WEF prime minister sends in the clowns

"Carny", also spelled "carnie" or "carney", is North American slang for a person who works in a carnival, traveling fair, or amusement park. That includes the barkers, the hucksters, and... the clowns. 

Way back in 2012, when Canadian Liberals were beating the bushes for to find a leader to succeed the failures that were Stéphane Dion and Michael Ignatieff, a reporter asked Michael Carney if he were interested in the job. Mr Carney replied, "Why don't I just become a circus clown?!"

Not quite 13 years later, when it began to look as if Prime Minister Blackie McBlackface would lead the Gliberals to electoral disaster, Mr Carney was asked again. This time he put up his hand (as he himself phrased it in a presser today) and said, "YES!" And on March 9th he became both ringmaster of the circus and the star clown... and, coincidentally, the unelected Prime Minister of Canuckistan.

Today, the Right Honourable Mark Carney decided that the time had come to send in... or, more accurately, lead in the clowns. "Send in the clowns" is a theater reference describing what must be done if a show isn't doing well. They do at a rodeo when a rider is in danger of being trampled by a bronco or gored by a bull.

Today, knowing that his party wouldl be defeated in a vote of conference if Parliament were allowed to resume its legislative duties, as was supposed to happen tomorrow, Mr Carney besought the Governor General to call an election. She agreed. Canucks will decide on April 29th whether they can stand another four years of Liberal DEI, ESG, eco-alarmism, wokeism and general ridiculousness.

Mr Carney will run in the Ottawa-area riding of Nepean, represented in the last parliament by Indo-Canadian Chandra Arya, whom readers may remember [or not. Ed.] as the first casualty of the rigged Liberal leadership race (WWW 26/1/25). Mr Arya has been told he is no longer welcome in the circus tent.

Mr Carney wants to be remembered by voters as the mastermind who, as Governor of the Bank of Canada and then the Bank of England, steered those countries through troubled economic waters. He is more likely to be remembered as a certified (and certirfiable) eco-wienie whose record suggests that he will be driven by climate policy, attempting to save the planet from burning to a cinder.

As the United Nations' special envoy on climate action and finance [Wut? Ed.], he founded and co-chaired the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ), resigning on 15 January, the day before he threw his hat into the Liberal leadership race. 

Carney the Eco-Warrior. Ah yes, that's it. Mr Carney's mission, as he sees it through pink-tinted glasses, is to reduce global emissions by promoting ESG -- "environmental, social, and governance" -- principles, which he thinks should be used to evaluate companies and their investment decisions. As one of the Boys of Davos, Mr Carney knows that ESG is the best way to save the planet and stay rich at the same time.

His commitment to such principles has raised many eyebrows in the Paranoid States of America, where Mr Carney and one of his GFANZ executives were interviewed for several hours last year the House Financial Services Committee. The committe been actively scrutinizing ESG issues, with Republicans focusing on potential conflicts with shareholder interests and antitrust concerns, while also investigating potential collusion among financial institutions and activists whom the committe called a "climate cartel".

If he gets to keep "the best job in the world" (the words of Trudeau II in a note left on his desk), Mark Carney is likely to be a compleat ESG prime minister. In his speech after winning the Liberal leadership, he said he had, "A plan, a plan, a plan…that makes us an energy superpower in both clean and conventional energy…a plan that creates one Canadian economy, not 13, because in Canada, we are stronger when we are united."

That's the snake oil he's selling, but everything Mr Carney has said and done so far suggests not only that he can't unite Canada's provinces to create an energy super-economy, but that he's not actually interested in doing so, not now, not ever.

His insistence on keeping in place an industrial carbon tax and an emissions cap -- both devised by Junior and his nutty Environment Minister, Steven Guildbeaut (now shuffled into a less visible portfolio) --  doesn't inspire much confidence in his energy superpower plan. Given his longstanding ESG obsessions, all evidence suggests that Prime Minister Mark Carney could be even more dedicated to strangling Canada's resource economy than was Prime Minister Blackie McBlackface. Too bad for Canada!
