Canadian political leaders debate -- what they REALLY said

We don't like to interrupt the Easter Triduum with worldly affairs, but since the Liberal government of Canuckistan has chosen to schedule the only face-to-face election debates with its opponents for the middle of Holy Week, we must devote today's post to the correction of misinformation, disinformation and false impressions created by the version of the English-language debate broadcast by the lickspittle, bought-and-paid-for "mainstream media".

Dear Canadian readers, what you saw on Thursday evening was not the real verbal exchange between Prime Minister pro tem Mark Carnage, Cuckservative leader Pierre "Pipi" Poilievre, and pinko socialist Sikh leader Jugmeat Singh. The "debate" you saw was generated by AI to make it appear as if Canada's "leaders" have at least the first clue about how to fix the No-longer-great No-longer-white North. Here's a summary of what they really said.

Dear Canadian voters, the advance polls are open today and (sadly) on Easter Sunday. Get out there and vote for the least of the three evils. [He means Poilievre. Ed.]

2024 Wally Awards: Bore of the Year

Rather than do a lengthy yearend review of stuff you already know and will read about elsewhere, we've decided to just hand out the coveted Wallies, without further ado. Today we present the winners of the Bore of the Year Award. May I have the envelope please?

And the winners are...

We say "winners are" because the un-comedian will have to share his Wally with all the other unfunny people and celebs who threatened to pack up their bags if the Donald won the election. Don't let the screen door (geddit?) slap your asses on the way out.

And the runner-up...

We distinguish noted cuckservative (((David Frum))) from the group of asses mentioned above, since, as far as we know, Mr Frum has kept his Canadian citizenship and could go back to the Great No-longer-white North any time he wants to. Why is he still in Trump's America?!

VIDEO: PPC's Max Bernier will give it another shot

In spite of the ruination of their country "progressing" day after day of the Trudeau dicktatorship, the sheeple of Canuckistan don't think much about politics in May. Hey, the Stanley Cup playoff are on. But it's now officially spring, because the Leafs are out. So Canadians can now turn their attention to getting rid of the smarmy, smug and loathsome Blackie McBlackface.

The next federal election is not due until 2025, although it could come earlier if the pinko "New" Democratic Party gets tired of its role as Trudeau's bitch. However, there is a vacancy in the riding of Portage-Lisgar, a Manitoba seat previously held by Conservative Candice Bergen, who resigned in February. That means a byelection must be held not later than August. Yesterday, Maxime Bernier, erstwhile leader of the People's Party of Canada, became the first to throw his chapeau in the ring. Click here to watch the presser in which he announced his candidacy.

"Mad Max" (as he is known affectionately, and Walt means that sincerely), says the vote in Portage-Lisgar will be a choice between him and what he called a "fake conservative". He told supporters in Portage la Prairie, that the area reminds him of his home riding, and urged them to make history by electing the first member of Parliament representing his party to "open the floodgates." "This byelection" he said "is the starting of a major turning point in Canadian politics!"

Portage-Lisgar, in rural Manitoba, is definitely conservative territory. In the last federal election, the PPC candidate there got 22% of the vote, a much better result than in most other ridings. The people of that area want a true conservative, M Bernier said, comparing his party to the former Reform Party. He has learned from that party's mistakes in previous elections, he said, and has no plans to merge with the federal Conservatives Cuckservatives.

M Bernier urged supporters to join a political revolution and took shots at the Liberals, the NDP and especially the Conservatives, whom he accused of only caring about voters during elections. He also said Canada has changed dramatically for the worse in recent years, railing against what he called "the woke cult" and "moral and cultural degeneracy." He claimed that Canadian society has been overtaken by evil and "those who reject it are silenced and smeared as intolerant, racist and transphobic."

Canada badly needs a truly conservative voice in its politics and its Parliament. Walt wishes "Mad Max" all the best.

Canada's "Conservatives" bar three SoCons from leadership race

Turns out there are more people who, for some unaccountable reason, want to lead the self-styled "Conservative" Party of Canada than I told you about on Monday. Agent 3, who follows the politics of Canuckistan more closely than I do -- I can't handle the smell up close -- says there are not four, but six candidates who will appear on the ballot when party members vote for a new leader in September.

On Monday, and previously in "The problem with Poilievre", WWW 30/4/22, I gave you the rundown on Pierre Poilievre, Jean Charest, Leslyn Lewis and Patrick Brown, who presently rank in that order in the opinion polls. But who are those other guys, the two in the top row?

Conservative Member of Parliament Scott Aitchison and Independent Ontario MPP Roman Baber have also been accepted by the cuckservatives in charge of organizing the leadership election as "verified" candidates. That means they proved they had at least C$300,000 (about $235,000 in readl money) to get through the toll gate, plus 500 endorsement signatures from members in 30 different ridings.

Scott Aitchison is the only candidate who could be described as a non-city person. He represents the truly beautiful Ontario riding of Parry Sound-Muskoka and concerns himself with issues relevant to farmers and other real people. In particular, Mr Aitchison wants to see an end to Canada's crazy supply management system, which makes things like milk and eggs cost more than they do across the border. That was the hill Maxime Bernier chose to die on in 2017... and die he did.

(((Roman Baber))) emigrated from the Soviet Union with his family to Israel, thence to Canada. The Jewish lawyer was elected to the Ontario legislature as a Progressive Conservative, representing the Toronto ghetto of York Centre. Whyen he had the temerity to oppose vaccine mandates and lockdowns, he got booted out of the PC caucus and now sits as an Independent. He says he believes in "democratic conservatism", whatever that means.

Today's real news, though, is that the Conservative party elite rejected three putative candidates, even though they had the money and the signatures, because they were "unacceptable" for reasons which were not explained.  According to the party's leadership election rules, the Leadership Candidate Nomination Committee, the group of party stalwarts reviewing applications from leader wannabes, can take into consideration "any other information they see fit to ascertain the suitability of an applicant." They can then recommend to the organizing committee that a particular candidate be barred from running.

Three candidates have been told "Thanks for coming out. Now bugger off." Joël Étienne, another lawyer from Toronto, and the only genuine French-speaker to put his name forward, told Radio-Canada he personally delivered the required paperwork to CPC HQ Friday afternoon, well before the deadline, but was told that the party wouldn't accept a credit card as payment for some of the necessary fees. M Étienne also said the party rejected some of the signatures he collected as "invalid", withouot saying why.

Joseph Bourgault, a Saskatchewan business owner (Bourgault Tillage Tools, if you need a good hoe), is a social conservative who was strongly endorsed by Campaign Life Coalition. In addition to his anti-abortion credentials, Bourgault was a member of the Freedom Convoy and participated in protests against COVID-related measures like vaccine mandates earlier this year. Obviously such "unacceptable views" (as Mr Socks would say) made him unfit to stand.

Grant Abraham, a consultant [lawyers and consultants, consultants and lawyers -- will it never end? Ed.] also didn't make the cut. In a social media post, his campaign said Mr Abraham was told Sunday he has been "deemed ineligible" by the party. He has criticized Conservative MPs for failing to stop Bill C-4, the Liberal government's ban on conversion therapy. He has also called for a return to a "Judeo-Christian framework" in Canada and an end to secularism. And he's surprised he won't be on the ballot? Really?

That leaves Leslyn Lewis as the only social conservative candidate. (The position of Messrs Aitchison and Baber on abortion and similar issues is unknown.) The Laurentian elites can't touch Ms Lewis because she's too well-known and because... well, you get the picture. She's the "Conservative" answer to the objection that the party is dominated by straight white men.

They have no answer, though, to the charge that the CPC is dominated by the old "Bay Street boys". All of the "acceptable" candidates are from Ontario. Mr Charest pretends to be a Québecer but according to  every poll is reviled by real Québécois. There are no candidates from west of Lake Huron or east of Montréal. Mr Poilievre, born and raised in Calgary, turned his back on the West the minute he arrived in Ottawa at the age of 24, and wouldn't know which end of a straw to put in his mouth. Expect Western alienation to intensify, no matter who wins.

Expect also a flight of real conservative Conservatives to a truly conservative party. No matter who wins, only Max Bernier's People's Party of Canada will be strengthened by the Conservatives' internecine war. Lifetime pct .990.

We welcome our first guest columnist

Ed. here. Walt is indisposed, so has, for the first time in the nearly 12-year history of WWW, invited a guest columnist to contribute a post. Our guest is David Frump, a self-described conservative and contributor to The Atlantic & Pacific magazine, which no longer has much use for his anti-Trump articles.

Thank you, Ed. Being asked to write a column in Walt Whiteman's World would be a daunting enough prospect at the best of times. But when one has to be not just a guest columnist, but the first, one is reduced to total speechlessness.

Staring at my face in the mirror this morning, I asked myself: what do you believe? Do you really have any opinions? Are you essentially conservative or, as some would have it, merely a cuckservative? Who are you?

Is this 1000 words yet? [No, it isn't. Keep going. Ed.]

Such profound questions have no easy answers. Yet answer must be found, if I am to fill up the remainder of the space allotted to me. And filled it must be, or there will be a good deal of white space on this web page.

Was it not Anton Chekhov, that great prophet of our age, who foesaw a world in which men were grey shadows, who said "the act of writing is in essence a destructive act, turning what began as nothing into what ends as nothing."?

From Chekhov it is only a short stop to Czechoslovakia, which P.J. O'Rourke, in his epic All The Trouble in the World, held up as an example of the ecological disaster which comes in the wake of laissez-faire environmental policies of the sort espoused by Donald Trump, whose re-election last November virtually guarantees the further rape and pillage of America's grasslands, forests, lakes, rivers, wetlands and... [That's close enough to 1000. Your cheque is in the mail. Ed.]

No room for SoCons in Canada's "Conservative" Party

In four short months, Canada's Perpetual Opposition Party (currently calling itself the Conservative Party of Canada) will hold a leadership convention to replace the Hon. Andrew Scheer, whose inability to talk out of both sides of his mouth about abortion and "gay rights" was demonstrated in last fall's federal election.

Canada's Cuckservatives had no position on "values issues", because they were (and remain) deeply divided. On the left there are the Red Tories who will do and say whatever it takes to win (or at least not lose too badly), even if that means sounding like alt-Liberals. Opposing them are the True-Blue Tories, who claim to be social as well as fiscal conservatives, but don't like talking about killing unborn babies or the nonsense of gender ideology.

It appears that although Mr Scheep himself claims to be a SoCon, the Red Tories had the upper hand in the smoke-filled backrooms. Thus true Canuck conservatives had no party to vote for except "Mad Max" Bernier's People's Party of Canada, and even the PPC was not very strong on the pro-life side, saying merely that they would "allow debate" on the issue. The result, a whoda-thunk-it victory for the Rt. Hon. Justin Blackface, was utterly predictable.

Knives were stuck in Mr Scheep's back within 24 hours, not just be Canada's liberal media (Hello, CBC!) but by those who would be the new leader, notably Peter MacKay, who likened the Tories' loss to "having an empty net to shoot at, and missing." Mr MacHackey is now the leading contender for the leadership, with only a non-entity named Erin O'Toole [Mr or Ms? Ed.] claiming to be "true blue".

Six other "Conservatives" have entered the lists, bringing the total number of contenders for the poisoned chalice to eight. Not admitted to the list, officially announced yesterday, was Richard Richard Décarie, a social conservative whose post-secondary education includes graduate studies in Philosophy – Applied Ethics from the Université de Sherbrooke. M Décarie had submitted the required application, fee and nomination signatures, and was interviewed by the party, as required by its rules. Yet his nomination was rejected.

Why is M Décarie not being allowed to put his name forward? CPC spokesthingy Cory Hann [Ms or Mr? Ed.] couldn't say specifically why not, because "the process is confidential." Walt suggests it may have something to do with M Décarie's very public statements of his belief that being one of the alphabet people is a choice, and that government should defund abortion.

M Décarie has also said that "LGBTQ" is a liberal term, and that governments should work to uphold and restore "traditional values." Some of his opponents, including Mr MacHackey, Erin O'Toole and Marilyn Gladu [Who she? Ed.], condemned his remarks as did current MPs, party strategists and former staff. It appears that M Décarie is about as welcome in today's "Conservative" Party of Canada as a skunk at a garden party.

Walt predicts that on June 27th, Peter MacKay will be chosen as the new Cuckservative leader. Walt further predicts that he will never become Prime Minister of Canada. Never! Lifetime pct .992.

UPDATED: "Boy, is my face red! Errr... OK, it's brown! Black?!"

Here they are, folks, the pictures that have exploded in Justin Trudeau's blackened face. M Trudeau, the former Prime Minister of Canada (now seeking a second term in that lofty office) is, as he keeps telling Canucks, a great believer in multiculturalism, inclusiveness and diversity. "Diversity is our strength!" And equality. Don't forget equality. "A Canadian is a Canadian is a Canadian!"

These pix push the bullshit meter well into the red. The excrement first interfaced with the air-conditioning device yesterday afternoon, when Time ran the picture at right, taken in 2001, of the 29-year-old Mister T exercising his penchant for playing Mr Dress-up by appearing as Aladdin [or is it the genie? Ed.] at an entertainment at West Point Grey Academy, a private school in Vancouver, where the young(ish) Trudeau was a drama teacher.

That was the pic that hit the news... and the Trudeau campaign... like a bombshell yesterday evening. But in his fulsome apology -- and I use the word correctly -- Mr Socks revealed that, errr, there were other pictures. Here's an even better one.

Looks like the same costume, so let's be charitable and assume it was taken at the same event, but it wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to be M Trudeau showing ethnic solidarity with a couple of his candidates in Brampton and Mississauga. (By the way, former Liberal MP Raj Grewal, the one with the gambling problem, announced yesterday that he wouldn't be running again this time. Surprised?)

On CBC's The National last night, a clearly crestfallen (and unbiased LOL) Rosemary Barton, described the makeup M Trudeau is wearing (not just on his face, but on his hands too) as "brownface", as if that made it... you know... not quite as bad as wearing blackface, which is something only racist Americans do. (Imagine if Donald Trump was photographed in blackface! Cazart!)

Rosie must be even more dismayed today, looking at this picture of an even younger Justin Trudeau singing "Day-O" in a talent show at Le collège Jean-de-Brébeuf. Looks like blackface to me, and if you look closely you can see the enormous Afro which completed the image. Harry Belafonte he's not, but "racist", errr...

And that's the point. The other party leaders, the (((controlled media))) and every "progressive" in Canuckistan has pounced on poor Just In, whose face, as he spoke to the press on the campaign plane last night, was not red but ashen.

The Cuckservative, Andrew Scheer, and the NDP (Socialist) leader Jagmeet Singh (a brown-faced man in a turban!) were just about beside themselves with glee, all the while trying to look and sound deeply offended, accusing Just In of racial insensitivity, "wearing ethnicity as a costume", and, of course, racism.

The feminist champion of diversity and multiculturalism is truly hoist on his own petard. Ya gotta love it!

There are, to be sure, a few sane individuals who say that you shouldn't hold a "youthful indiscretion" against someone, especially if he apologizes sincerely (with tears, if possible) and has "matured and evolved" so that he realizes and takes responsibility for his political incorrectness. That's what Andy Sheer said just a few days ago, while standing up for a couple of his candidates who'd been somewhat compromised by past "errors of judgment".

The hyuge KA-BOOM is still reverberating through the newsrooms, corridors of power, Tim Hortons and other places where people discuss such things. It will be some time before people stop talking about Just In Trudeau's bad hair day... make that bad face day. Stay tuned!

UPDATE ADDED 0800: Canada's Global TV has obtained video of another incident -- not the high school "Day-O" incident but something more recent -- in which Mr Dressup wears blackface. Not "brownface" but blackface. Note the comment about resignation. Could it happen?

VIDEO: Was President Trump right to attack Syria?

Let me answer the headline question for you. NO! What President Trump should have done was stick with his position, enunciated long before the election, that the US should stay out of foreign entanglements, of which the Muslim civil war is the chief example. Yet the President Trump sent 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles into Syria in retaliation for what he claimed was a chemical attack on civilians by Syrian President Assad. He sought no Congressional authorization and presented no evidence to either Congress or the American people to justify his actions.

Some of President Trump's most dedicated admirers, including Yours Very Truly, were stunned by the news. The missile strike was pretty much what his defeated rival, Hellery Clinton, would have done, had she had her trembling finger on the button. On Thursday she told a women's forum she would "take out" Assad's airfields, and that's what the missile strike launched that same day was supposed to do.

Kevin MacDonald, the editor of The Occidental Observer, called the US attack on Syria "a betrayal". In a phone interview the morning after the missiles were launched, he told the CBC, "I'm concerned now this whole administration is going the way of the neocons. The whole nine yards." Mr MacDonald thought President Trump was supposed to be an "America First" leader focused on a non-interventionist foreign policy. Now, he said, "I'm very disappointed; very agitated."

Richard Spencer, who coined the term "alt-right", expressed his displeasure in a video titled "The Trump Betrayal". Alex Jones, host of InfoWars, said on his show Mr Trump was "disintegrating in my eyes." And former Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos wrote on Facebook, "There comes a day in every child's life when his Daddy bitterly disappoints him."

What happens next, as the President opens wider the US military involvement in the Middle East? Congressman Thomas Massie (R-KY) joins Ron Paul's Liberty Report to discuss "US Bombs Syria - National Security Or Aggression?"

If Hellery wins, check out the Redoubt!

Last spring, as Donald Trump's nomination looked more and more probable, and his election victory a distinct possibility, American "progressives" were falling all over themselves to find a "Plan B". What they came up with was: Let's all move to Canada! Being typical Americans,k thus ignorant of life outside of the Continental 48, they did not realize that you can't just cross the border, buy some cheap land and settle in the Great Not-So-White North. Gavin McInnes of TheRebel.media tells it like it really is in "Advice on moving to Canada (in case Trump wins)", a great video posted on WWW 27/4/16.

Sadly, it appears now that it's not the gliberals but the real conservatives (as opposed to "cuckservatives") and libertarians who need a bolthole -- a place to hide when the Clinton shitstorm rains down on the USA come November 9th. The lamestream press are already burying The Donald with often fanciful reports of polls predicting a landslide for Hellery -- not the Big House but the White House. Where can a freedom-loving American go when the politically correct nanny statists gain control of every action, word and thought?

Don't even think about Canada! Not only are the Canucks kind of, errr, anti-American, but they're under the heel of pinkish federal and provincial governments (in Ontario and Alberta) that make the Obama administration seem like neo-Nazis! You can't even bring your gun across the border with you. As for immigrating permanently, you'll have to get in line behind 1000s of "refugees" and 10,000s of aging aunties and uncles from South Asia and the Middle East. Fugedaboudit!

But never fear! Walt has a viable alternative for you. Let me throw out some place names: Trout Creek MT, Priest River ID, Coeur d'Alene ID, Kalispell MT, Sand Point ID. Walt first visited those out-of-the-way places in 1974, at the height of the communist (= communal living), back-to-the-land movement. At that time, there was no-one there! Well, practically no-one apart from some aging hippies and a few hundred local residents who pretty much kept to themselves. Really to themselves, as in "Trespassers will be shot!"

Today, the hippies have gone back to California, and a large chunk of the Northwest -- western Montana, northern Idaho, and the far eastern fringes of Washington and maybe Oregon -- is pretty thinly populated. This picture gives some idea of why that may be.

The good news is that a lot of the people who are out there, amidst all that abundance, are the right kind of people, and I mean that in at least two ways! Some of them have come from the Rust Belt, the sinkhole that is Florida, and cuckooland California to settle in what James Wesley, Rawles -- yes, with the comma -- calls "the American Redoubt".

Mr Rawles is a former US Army Intelligence officer, technical writer and survivalist author. He's also the founder of SurvivalBlog.com. In "The Precepts of Rawlesian Survivalist Philosophy" (not as pretentious as it sounds), Mr Rawles explains the whys and hows of moving to America's last big frontier, the better to defend yourself from the hordes of thirsty, hungry, panicked sheeple who stream out of the ungovernable cities when the balloon goes up. "Because of SurvivalBlog," he writes, "we are part of something bigger: a virtual community of some of the most brilliant people that you could ever meet. Despite our differences, we all have an interest in preparedness."

Of course the election isn't over until the fat lady shrieks. But when it's dangerous in certain areas to identify yourself as a Trump supporter, you have to start pondering the "what ifs". If you don't want to "Be Prepared" like the gay Boy Scouts, then adopt the motto of the US Coast Guard: Semper Paratus!

Footnote: You don't have to live in or even renovate an old cabin like that, you know. It's possible to buy a plot of land in northern Idaho for $50,000 or less, tear down the old buildings (save the lumber for firewood), put down some gravel and plop down a prefabricated "skid house" which can be trucked right to your lot. No permit required! What are you waiting for?

Book review: Walt savages Savage's "Savage Truth"

Michael Savage (né Michael Alan Weiner) is a famous (it says here) talk/shock jock. He is also a "#1 New York Times bestselling author", according to the dust jacket of Stop the Coming Civil War (Center Street, 2014) which attracted Walt's attention on a recent visit to the Fort Mudge library.

When someone uses the American flag as a backdrop for his publicity pic, you pretty much know what you're going to get. Here's a sample.

Mr. Savage has summarized his political philosophy in three words: borders, language, and culture. He calls himself a conservative nationalist, while critics (and there are many) characterize his views as "fostering extremism or hatred." Since 2009 he has been barred from entering the UK on those grounds.

Critics on the right (and there are many) call him a "cuckservative".

The King of Speak-your-mouth opposes illegal immigration to the United States, supports the English-only movement and argues that liberalism and progressivism are degrading American culture and emasculating American men.

Walt agrees with most of those views. But if you paid 26 bucks for Stop the Coming Civil War, Walt thinks you overpaid by about $25.01. It's a crappy book, a veritable witches' brew of vitriol, hyperbole and right-wing rant, masquerading as a political manifesto.

Mr. Savage argues that "The United States may well be [note the hedge words] in the midst of a military, economic, and cultural collapse that is turning us into a country in danger of catastrophic failure and leading to the nighmarish scenario of a civil war." He presents his talking points as five questions, which you can get from the dust jacket:
  • Why have so many of our top military commanders been summarily pushed aside, after years of brave service?
  • Is the falsification of records by VA personnel in order to cover up the horrific neglect of our brave soldiers a sign of what's to come with Obamacare?
  • How is Obama's irresponsible foreign policy not just weakening us in Russia, China, and the Middle East, but actually endangering our security at home as well?
  • What does it mean for our freedom and our way of life that negligent immigration law enforcement allows illegal aliens to cross the southern border into our country with little fear of penalty?

That's it. That's all. The "author" takes those four points and repeats them, rearranging the order, for ten chapters. Eventually -- I chose this word deliberately -- he tells us who the combatants in "the coming civil war" will be. North vs South? Black vs White? Noooo... It will be:
  • The haves against the have-nots.
  • The illegal aliens against hard-working middle-class families.
  • Liberals who hate the Second Amendment versus lawful gun owners, millions of whom refuse to register their guns and ammunition in anti-gun jurisdictions.
  • Climate activists whose policies cause forest fires and exacerbate drought against those who understand the effect of human activity on the climate is negligible.
  • Anti-Christian communist educators versus god-fearing families.
So there you have it. Walt just saved you 26 bucks. Choose which side you want to be on and act accordingly. But what does "accordingly" mean? In the final chapter of Stop the Coming Civil War, Mr. Savage tells us that to win (not stop) the war "...our resistance must be a peaceful resistance. It must be waged through the ballot box, or else this country will descent into chaos and violence."

The ballot box? Who can Americans vote for who will stand up for hard-working, middle-class, god-fearing etc. families? Believe it or not, Mr. Savage says "Vote Republican"! He calls on Republicans and "Independents generally" to "return to being a nationalist party, a party that understands that such actions as cutting entitlement spending will spur us to take action against the leftist takeover that is occurring before our very  eyes."

The goal is to have Republicans win both houses of Congress in 2014 and elect a Republican president in 2016. That will avert the coming civil war and make America great again. Oh... wait... haven't I heard that phrase somewhere recently?

Walt cannot disagree with Mr. Savage's argument that a Republican president and Congress will be better for America than the incumbent administration, but if that president is a "moderate Republican" or "cuckservative" like Jeb, the difference will hardly be noticeable.

My main quarrel with Stop the Coming Civil War is that it's badly written, a point I'll return to later. It's not so much a piece of writing as a collage of transcriptions of Mr. Savage's radio rants. And it's hard to take seriously someone who (at page 7) calls "the most vicious of all terrorist groups... the Islamic State of Iran and Syria". Too bad Center Street didn't invest a few dollars in the services of an editor and fact-checker.
