Brampton man charged with 3 counts of kidnapping and sexual assault

Today the Brampton Guardian, part of the Toronto Red Star (alleged) newspaper group, ran a story headed "'Incredibly violent, reprehensible acts': Brampton man charged in series of sexual assaults in Peel and York regions". What was incredible about their politically correct story was that, in spite of the cops asking anyone with further information to contact them, the alleged paper omitted from their story the name and photo of the accused.

Therefore, as a public service, and as a follow-up to "Math quiz for residents of Toronto" WWW 18/11/24, we present a slightly edited version of a press release from the Peel Region Police Service. Explanatory notes follow.

Investigators have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with multiple sexual assault investigations in which three women were victimized. 

On Friday, November 8, 2024, at approximately 7:00 a.m., an adult female victim was waiting at a bus stop in the area of Countryside Drive and Bramalea Road in the City of Brampton. A black 4-door sedan approached the victim, and the driver purported to be a rideshare operator. The victim was driven to the area of Highway 27 and Nashville Road in the City of Vaughan and was sexually assaulted. 

At approximately 7:43 a.m. the same day, a second adult female victim was waiting at a bus stop in the area of Goreridge Crescent and Via Romano Way in the City of Brampton. A black 4-door sedan approached the victim, and the driver purported to be a rideshare operator. The victim was driven to the area of Highway 50 south of Gore Road in the City of Brampton and was sexually assaulted. 

On Saturday, November 16, 2024, at approximately 6:45 a.m., an adult female victim was waiting at a bus stop in the area of Airport Road and Humberwest Parkway in Brampton. The victim was approached by a newer model 4-door sedan and was offered a ride. The victim was driven to the area of Countryside Drive just west of Airport Road and sexually assaulted. 

Investigators believe that the same suspect was responsible for all three incidents. The suspect spoke Punjabi to the victims in all three incidents. Arshdeep Singh, [Seriously? Ed.] a 22-year-old man from Brampton, has been arrested and charged with: 

- Kidnapping (x3) 

- Sexual Assault 

- Sexual Assault with a Weapon 

- Sexual Assault by Strangulation 

- Robbery 

- Utter Threats (x2) 

He was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton....

Investigators believe there may be more victims and are urging anyone with any information to contact investigators of the Special Victims Unit at 905-453-2121, extension 3460. Anonymous information may also be submitted by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or visiting www.peelcrimestoppers.ca.

Although the Grauniad fails to name Mr Singh, possibly for fear of provoking still more anti-immigrant backlash, it does identify him as an international student (likely at the famous Singh School of Truck Driving) who came to Canada from India on a student visa in December 2022.

Canada's Minister of Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship [note the order. Ed.] announced last week taht he expects the 4.9 million temporary residents of Canada, such as Mr Singh, to leave voluntarily when their visas expire. He also expects two moons to rise in the sky when that happens.

CORRECTION: The Canuckistan Ministry of Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship [sic] has contacted us to advise that only 776,000 of the temporary residents mentioned in the preceding paragraph will have their visas expire this year. Moreover, not all of them will have to leave, voluntarily or otherwise. Some will have their visas extended... provided, of course, that they vote the right way in the coming election.

"A paper by the people, for the people!" What a novel idea, especially in Canada where the "legacy media" is overwhelmingly controlled by the Laurentian elites who in turn are controlled by the WEF and part of the New World Order.

Footnote: The newspapers named (you know the ones I mean) are funded by millions of tax dollars paid by the Canadian sheeple to their federal government (J. Trudeau, prop.), yet claim to be "independent". Remember the old adage: He who pays the piper calls the tune. 

In spite of the subsidies received from Blackie McBlackface, they are losing money hand over fist, particularly the Red Star, which is now the print/digital version of the CBC. The Star is teetering on the brink of bankruptcy. Since the Gliberals can't be seen to own the alleged newspaper directly, its owners are now in talks with Postmedia to merge with the National Post. 

The Canadian Press* calls the plan a "Hail Mary pass". If it comes off, the editorial policies of either the Star or the Post will have to be "adjusted" so as not to flatly contradict each other, as they sometimes do now. Guess which one will have to change? If I were Conrad Black, John Ivison, Terry Glavin or Rex Murphy, I'd learn the lyrics to that fine old gospel song, "I Don't Wanna Get Adjusted".

A fond look back at Fred C. Dobbs, scourge of the lamestream media

I'm still hot under the collar about the sorry state of the lamestream media in North America. See "Anus horribilis 2020: Noted in passing (media)", posted yesterday. The truth isn't out there. It's here, in the blogosphere.

Liberal group-think dominates the lamestream media of the Excited States of America, and Canada is just as bad -- worse, now, with the passing of Christie Blatchford and Allan Fotheringham. 

And there are those who say that, even at his best, Dr Foth was not really anti-establishment, but more of a court jester poking fun at the Powers That Be, from inside the charmed circle of the liberal elite.

His jibes were indeed tepid, compared with the vitriolic savagery of my favourite Canuck political commentator, Fred C. Dobbs, the Bard of Beamsville. Ole Freddy was the alter ego of the late Michael Magee, a part-time radio and TV personality and full-time fan of the sport of kings, based in Beamsville ON. And yes, there is such a place. You can look it up.

While we were writing yesterday's piece, Ed. looked through one of Fred's two published works, The Platinum Age of B.S. (Van Nostrand Reinhold 1981) and found some comments on the Canuck controlled media which are even more to the point now than they were 40 years ago.

It's a funny thing in this country, but nobody really wants to talk, nobody wants to get out there and tear strips off the government anymore. Everybody wants to suck up...everybody's just cowed into keeping their yaps shut....

In Canada, I think if we had a Watergate situation the fix would be in with the Toronto Star, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and Maclean's magazine. These is the big three media knee-jerkers in the English language in this country. 

[They] would really not want the great, wonderful, golden image of the Liberal Party of Canada to be tarnished in any conceivable way. Because, after all, this image is as great, as bright and aas shiny as any kinda galaxy could ever be if it come along and upstaged the eclipse of the sun. I mean, the arrival of the Liberals for these poor bastards is like the Second Coming.

There's a climate of fear among broadcasters, there's a real fear of the CRTC [the Canadian equivalent of the FCC], that muddling, meddling government quasi-regulatory body that they see as a group of people really interfering with their right to do what it is they want to do. And it's kind of a valid argument against government interference in our lives; there's far too much of it.

This is what the Trudeau government gang really do stand for, cuz they passionately believe that unless they run, organize, regulate and produce everything that goes on, it ain't going to be up to some peculiar standards they imagine exists.

The Platinum Age of B.S. was the sequel to The Golden Age of B.S. (Gage, 1976), both long out of print. If you're a Canadian and want to see what Dr Foth called "the Natural Governing Party" get the disrespect it richly deserves, try to get your hands on Fred's books. Try your local library, but don't be surprised if they don't have them. As for his radio and TV broadcasts, those tapes have been erased, wiped clean. Wonder why....

If you're American and wonder what relevance this has to you, just reread that passage. Where Fred says "Liberals", substitute "Democrats". For Toronto Star, CBC and Maclean's magazine, substitute, New York Times/Wapo, CNN and Time magazine. They're all the same! Ask yourself, now that Dr Hunter S. Thompson and George Carlin are no longer with us, is there anyone left who's willing to stand up and say the liberal elites are full of BS?... Anyone?...

Footnote: The "Trudeau" to whom Fred refers is not Blackie McBlackface, the current Prime Minister of Canuckistan, but his father, Pierre, who began the destruction of Canada way back in 1968 and was still in power when Freddie was writing. That in itself tells you all you need to know about the Canaadian sheeple.

The Toronto Star -- aka the Toronto RED Star -- is Canuckistan's most liberal major newspaper. They keep drumming away at the one-world, pro-queer, pro-Islam, pro-"diversity", anti-Trump, anti-populism agenda, as dictated their (((masters)) in Canada and overseas. Here are the headlines from some of the items on the Star's website today.

"Why aren’t we talking about how to keep Canada safe from Trumpism?" by Susan Delacourt (one of the "unbiased moderators" on the all-female panel chosen to throw softballs to Just In Trudeau on the English-language Leaders' Debate)
"It's time for Fox News to dump the cult of Trump" by Vinay Menon
"Giving Maxime Bernier a platform legitimizes his dangerous ideas", by Shree Paradkar
No white males in that trio. Where's the diversity?
"Liberal MPP urges Ford to recall the legislature immediately in the public interest" (the Liberals don't even have party status in the Ontario legislature)
"Educators are right to support students striking for climate justice" (unsigned editorial)
"Cutting out the Trump cancer won’t be easy or painless" (another unsigned editorial)
And the list goes on... and on...

The last two items are important to note because every now and then the Star, like the New York Times and the Washington Post, attempts to put a facade of fairness on top of its leftist editorial policies. One way they do that, during the election campaigns, is to invite all the party leaders to sit down with their editorial board to be grilled on their policies (etc) before the board makes up its mind to endorse the Liberal.

The Star's editorial board initially decided that only four of the leaders of parties represented in Canada's Parliament should be invited. They were: Just In Trudeau (Liberal), Andrew Scheer ("Conservative", at least in name), Jagmeet Singh (NDP, read: socialist) and Elizabeth May (Green Party, even farther left than the NDP). ‎Yves-François Blanchet, leader of the Bloc Québécois, was not invited because his party is not fielding candidates outside of Québec. And Maxime Bernier, leader of the People's Party of Canada, was not invited because... errr... the Leaders' Debate Commission decided he wasn't the leader of a "real party". But then, to the consternation of people like the Star's Vinay Menon (see above), the Commission changed its mind! See "Conspiracy to silence Max Bernier fails! He'll be at the debates", WWW 16/9/19. So now the Star -- doubtless after some debate in its boardroom -- felt they should extend an invitation to M Bernier, which they did. "Mad Max" accepted and spent nearly an hour in the lion's den, giving the Star's lefty editors and writers ample opportunity to expose their biases.

The board must have been shocked and embarrassed by the way Max Bernier defended himself and the PPC's policies against their mischaracterizations, fake news and outright lies. So much so that they buried the interview in the "unlisted" part of their website -- not to be seen by the Canadian public! You can search the website -- see for yourself! -- and you can find the interviews with the other four leaders, but not this one, which has been posted on YouTube by "Mike from Simcoe-Grey County-Clearview Township", a PPC supporter for sure, on his "The Forgotten Canadians" channel. Walt's Crappy Journalism Award - Canadian division

I have an intense dislike for the Toronto Star (aka "Toronto Red Star"), the newspaper that's so politically correct that it makes the New York Times and WaPo look like Republican rags. It used to boast of the largest circulation of any Canadian newspaper. Then it tried a paywall, which it quickly abandoned because, errr, nobody's willing to pay for a steady drip-drip-drip of "progressive" editorials disguised as reportage, written by the kind of people to whom Canada's Prime Minister is forever apologizing.

However... I've entered the Star in the latest round of my Crappy Journalism sweepstakes not for its incessant propaganda for liberalism, but for the dismal quality of its editing and proofreading. And I'm making the assumption that they do still have people, or maybe one person, somewhere in the basement of 1 Yonge Street, who actually looks over articles before they're posted or printed. I could be wrong about that, as witness this remarkable "Correction" from today's fishwrap.

Political correctness trumps free speech at Toronto Star

News from Toronto of an interesting coincidence. Over the last week or so, Canada has welcomed hundreds -- soon to be thousands -- of "refugees" supposedly fleeing the Muslim civil wars in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan etc. The first planeload, welcomed by Prime Minister Himself Jr. and Ontario's proudly lesbian Premier Wynne at an off-limits terminal at Toronto airport, turned out to be mostly Armenians, but never mind.

Canada's lamestream media claim -- falsely -- that the "welcome refugee" programme enjoys widespread popular support. No media outlet, not even the state-owned CBC, says so louder than Toronto's most-read newspaper, the Toronto Star. Which figures. The Star is known to many as "The Red Star" for its unfailing support of all that's politically correct: Trudeau, Wynne, all other Liberals, all other liberals, the LGBTQ "community", the "community of colour", etc, etc and so forth.

Yes indeed. If you want to know what the liberal elites, "progressive thinkers" and chattering classes think, read The Toronto Star. But if you wanted to know what the real people think about, say, black crime or refugees or pro-queer sex education, you would have done better to check out the comments sections of the Star's online edition. Until today.

Today, the Red Star announced that there would be no more comments online, no more freedom to reply to the PC editorials disguised as news reporting.

The Star's lame excuse for abrogating the right of its readers to speak their minds is that they want to "highlight [in some other space] the most thoughtful, insightful and provocative comments from readers", by which Walt thinks they mean comments that have been thoroughly vetted to ensure that they agree with the paper's liberal editorial policy. What a load...

Headline of the summer from the Toronto Star

In his daily perusal of papers from around the world, Walt doesn't spend a lot of time on the website of the Toronto Star. To those of my political persuasion, it's usually referred to as the Red Star, and that tells you all you need to know.

However... when you see a headline like
Dismemberment still a rarity in Canada
it's hard to resist the temptation to check out the story,
if only to see if they're bragging or complaining.

That has to be the most grabby headline of the summer. Hell... the year!

Round up the usual suspects

It has for some time been politically incorrect in Toronto to describe suspects in a violent crime as "speaking with Jamaican accents". In fact, some of the lamestream media try to avoid even mentioning that the perps are black, as is almost always the case.

It doesn't do much good, though, to appeal to the public to call if they have any information about "men", with no other descriptors. Besides, people jump to their own conclusions, awaiting only the confirmation when an arrest is made and the accused is seen being shoved into the back of a cruiser.

Perhaps the Toronto Star has realized that political correctness doesn't change the facts or help the authorities bring criminals to book. Today the oh-so-liberal Star reported on the murder of a 16-year-old in a broad-daylight home invasion as follows.

"Police describe the suspects as 5-foot-9 to 6-feet black men with Jamaican accents."

The description fits 1000s of Torontonians, hundreds of whom are already languishing in Toronto area jails, but one hopes it's the beginning of the end of denying the truth.

Footnote: Agent 3 reports that CBC's ultra-PC Toronto radio station broadcast the police press conference as it happened, omitting only the first ten seconds in which the words "black men with Jamaican accents" were used.

Once a refugee, always a refugee?

Interesting ruling today from the Supreme Court of Canada on the rights of refugees. At issue was the question of whether, once you've been officially declared to be a refugee, you can lose that status.

We all know (because the lamestream media tells us) that gypsies -- oops, sorry, "Roma" -- are the most persecuted people in the world. Why only recently France has decided to expel 1000s of them. Something to do with dirt, crime and abuse of welfare systems, some say.

But that's France. In Canada, gypsies are welcome, as long as they know enough English or French to holler "refugee" or "réfugié" when they get off the boat. Or out of the first-class section of the airplane.

Take the cases of Joszef and Joszefne Nemeth, who came to Canada in 2001 from Hungary, and Tiberiu Gavrila, who arrived in 2004 from Romania. [Does that mean "land of the Roma"? Must check. Ed.]

It's worth noting that by the time these "refugees" had arrived, they couldn't claim to be fleeing the godless Communists, because the Communist dictatorships of both countries had fallen in the wake of the breakup of the Soviet Union. So they said they were at risk of persecution because they were Roma. And of course the Canadians bought it. To deny their refugee claim would have made the Canadian government seem racist, eh.

Somewhat later, the Hungarian government sought extradition of Mr. and Mrs. Nemeth to face a charge of fraud. At about the same time, Romanian asked that Mr. Gavrila be sent back to serve time on a conviction for, errr, fraud.

Agent 3, who studied the subject, tells me that the general principle of international law is that refugees cannot be sent back to countries where they were persecuted. But there are exceptions, one such being cases of serious, non-political crime. Like, errr, fraud.

The Québec Superior Court thought both cases fell within the exception, and authorized the extradition of all three "refugees". The Canadian Minister of Justice, Rob Nicholson, ordered the removals, saying the people involved had not shown they were at risk of persecution if they were sent back.

But the Nemeths and Mr. Gavrila appealed, assisted no doubt by lawyers paid for by Canadian taxpayers. Their cases were heard together at the Supreme Court of Canada in Ottawa. Their grounds for appeal were that they couldn't be extradited unless their refugee status was formally revoked, which it wasn't.

The Supreme Court quashed the extraditions. Why? Because the Minister of Justice hadn't followed the right procedure and applied the correct test. The onus wasn't on the refugees to show that they were at risk, the court said. Rather the onus is on the government to show that they are not.

The court accepted that Minister Nicholson looked at the situation in Hungary and Romania at the time the extradition was sought. Both countries have joined the European Union and come under its human rights rules and conventions. So the minister thought there was little chance of persecution.

Speaking for the court, Mr. Justice Cromwell wrote “Change of circumstances in a refugee's country of origin may lead to cessation of refugee protection. In short, protection ceases to apply to persons who, by virtue of a change in circumstances, no longer need it.”

But, he added, the minister must be satisfied that the threat of persecution no longer exists. One wonders what the minister should have done to satisfy himself. Should he have dressed up like a gypsy and gone to Hungary and Romania to see what would happen to him? Should he have taken into account the pro-gypsy propaganda fed to Canadians through the Globe and Mail and the Toronto Star?

Whatever it was Nicholson did, he didn't do enough of it or he didn't do it well enough. The cases of all three "refugees" now go back to him so that he can review his decision.

And what if Mr. Nicholson looks at the files again and stands by his original decision? Well, his decision can still be appealed...again...courtesy of the Trudeau Charter of Rights and the Canadian taxpayer.

The biggest bully of all

Libertarian Gerry Nicholls has a great op-ed piece in some of the smaller Canadian newspapers today. It's the kind of thing you wouldn't see in the Globe and Mail or the Toronto Star, voices of the progressive urban elite. So, in case you missed it, let me quote some thoughts on the government's role in our lives.

The government is a bully.

The government is always pushing us around.

It bosses us with rules and regulations that tell us where we can smoke, what we can eat and what kind of light bulbs we can put in our homes.

It passes ridiculous laws to intimidate gun owners and marijuana smokers.

It forces us to give up nearly half our income in the form of taxes so it can finance things like artificial lakes in downtown Toronto and chauffeur-driven limousines for federal cabinet ministers.

It even tries to control what we can think and say through the so-called Human Rights Commissions.

In short, the government uses coercion to manage just about every aspect of our lives from cradle to grave.

Plus, let's not forget the government also has the power to put people in jail.

Now that's what I call bullying.

And every time the government bullies its citizens, every time it seeks to restrict our behaviour or control our actions, or steal our private property, it also takes away our liberty.

That should scare all of us. Freedom is a precious commodity in this world; it should be protected and preserved.

Strong stuff. I agree with it. In fact, I love it! But am I the only one?

In one of his Globe and Mail columns recently, John Ibbitson said he doubted that there was much support in Canada for a Tea Party, because Canadians are just too moderate, polite and progressive. On the contrary, I think Mr. Nicholls' remarks will resonate with many more Canadians than Mr. Ibbotson has readers.

Use your imagination

The west end of Toronto saw yet another shooting early Monday morning. A 15-year-old named Devonte Gondwe-Prosper, also known as “Bug-zee,” was shot in the face when he answered the door of an apartment. Now Metro Toronto police have issued a murder warrant for 18-year-old Sheronnie Thomas.

Both Mr. Gondwe-Prosper and Mr. Thomas were "known to police", as they say, and the cops helpfully supplied their photos to the media. I say "helpfully" because Thomas is still at large, and the police hope the public will help find him. (In the west end of Toronto it's not exactly like looking for a blackberry in a saucer of milk, you know.) Hence the photo.

Readers of the Toronto Star who might be inclined to keep an eye out for Mr. Thomas will have to use their imaginations, though, since the Star, for some reason, declined to print the picture distributed by the police.Walt's readers are invited to explain, in 25 words or less, the reasoning behind the Star's decision. Sorry, no prize for figuring this one out.

Too PC to run wanted posters

On May 5th, Walt showed you the picture of a young black man who was shot in the back while walking along a west Toronto street in broad daylight, yet another example of black-on-black crime and the contribution of Jamaicans to the most multicultural city in the world.

You'll be glad to know that Toronto police have a suspect. A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for Chael Mills, 19, of Toronto, a.k.a. "Ginga". Mr. Mills is described as having a light-black complexion, 6-foot tall, 180 pounds, with brown eyes.

It took a little doing to find a picture of "Ginga" (pronounced "Jinja"). Even though a mug shot was shown on TV, neither of the two Toronto newspapers Walt reads online ran this police-supplied photo.

Both the Toronto Star and the Globe and Mail, it seems, don't like running photos of black criminals. It paints a bad picture of the "African-Canadian community", dontcha know.

Yet Toronto Police Detective Constable Mary Vruna mentioned that the victim and the suspect knew of each other prior to the incident, and the suspect, who is "known to police", is also known to have gang affiliations associated with the neighbourhood.

The Globe opened its comments section for a few minutes, but closed it after six posts. Apparently they didn't like posters talking about the race factor. The Star didn't allow any comments at all.

It's amazing to me that the bias for political correctness is so strong in the Toronto media -- or the Globe and the Star, at least -- that they steadfastly refuse to acknowledge the existence of the elephant in the room. Perhaps they think that the problem will just go back to Kingston. Don't count on it.

Lesbian cabinet minister pushed queer sex ed plan

I hadn't intended to write another post on the Ontario Liberal government's about-face on its new sex education curriculum -- the one that proposed to start teaching pre-teens that homosexuality is "normal". As I said yesterday, the people have spoken and for once the powers that be listened.

However... Rosie DiManno has a very incisive and insightful piece in today's Toronto Star which is worth considering. It seems to me she gets right to the heart of the problem that the straight majority have with the LGBT* agenda which was being crammed down their ... err ... throats.

Thanks also to Rosie for supplying a bit of evidence to back up my assertion that this disgusting dogma of immoral sexual licence was being foisted on the people of Ontario by a large and vocal gay lobby.

The education minister on whose watch this witches' brew of immoral behaviour was stirred up was Kathleen Wynne. What I didn't know until today was Ontario's first openly lesbian cabinet minister. No wonder "she called the Tories 'despicable' for opposing the plan." Ms DiManno reports she shouted across the benches "You’re aligning yourselves with homophobes!"

Ms DiManno continues: "Homophobia — while a handy accusation to toss around — is emphatically not why so many parents revolted when delivered this fait accompli, now quickly withdrawn.... It’s the age of the thing that elicited gasps of disapproval, and the spoon-fed doses of sexual enlightenment as prescribed by alleged education experts that rankles.

"Nearly every buttonholing interview of parents conducted by the media over the last three days turned up deep reservations about introducing 6-year-olds to sex.... These youngsters are still learning their ABCs.... Then, a mere two years later, we’d have those children instructed on 'healthy relationships' and sexual orientation, subjects so complex that many adults would receive failing grades.

"It was demanding a great deal for parents to accept invasive sex instruction in the schools at complete variance with ethics taught at home. While many of us may disagree with some of those moral paradigms, we can’t compel others to change their personal views, or meekly hand us their very young children so that we can shape theirs."

Is race the reason?

The Toronto Star reports today that 5 (five) people were involved in 4 (four) separate shooting incidents in Toronto in the last 24 hours. Many (many) shots were fired. 1 (one) young man died from gunshot wounds.

The Star's report was 15 paragraphs long (as of noon EDT), and never said 1 (one) word about the race of those involved. Nor did the Star allow comments, moderate or otherwise.

Could it be because all those involved were black?

What is the point of the politically correct suppression of this fact? Even in descriptions of suspects, race usually goes unreported. And the Star is not the only media outlet which doesn't have the balls to say what anyone can see just by watching the news on TV.

The fact is that, in Toronto, young black men are killing other young black men, usually for reasons involving drugs and gangs, at the rate of over one per week so far this year. They might just manage to solve the crime problem by killing each other. But how many innocent bystanders, like Jane Creba, will be caught in the crossfire?
