Your Singhs today (Halifax edition)

Halifax, Canada, police have closed their file3 on the death, last October 19th, of Gursimran Kaur, a 19-year-old resident of the Canadian city. The young woman, originally from India, had immigrated to Canada with her mother about two years previously.

Balbir Singh, secretary of the Maritime Sikh Society, told the meeja that Ms Kaur's body was found by her mother at the Mumford Road Walmart, where the two had worked for about two years.

According to police, the mother became frantic on the night of October 19th after her daughter failed to answer her phone during the Saturday night shift. The mother, whose name was not released, eventually opened the bakery oven and found her daughter's burned body.

On November 18th, a Halifax Regional Police spokesthingy posted a video on Facebook, saying police "do not believe that anyone else was involved in the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death." To this day, no further information, such as the cause of Ms Kaur's death, has yet to be released.

If it wasn't for Mr Singh saying the quiet part out loud, we wouldn't even know her name, ethnicity, or religion. "We acknowledge the public’s interest in this case and that there are questions that may never have answers," said the cop in the video. "Please be mindful of the damage public speculation can cause."

So everything's OK then. Please stop asking questions such as:
- How is it that the mother was the first to find the girl's body?
- Did she not notify police before going to search the store by herself?
- How did she know exactly where to look, without saying anything to anyone else?
- Were there no CCTV cameras in the area?
- Did the oven not have a mechanism, similar to that on a microwave, preventing it from being operated unless it was locked from the outside?
- Was Ms Kaur engaged to be married to a suitable boy who was supposed to be coming from India?
- Was she, errr, with child?

On October 30th, the Sikh organization said Ms Kaur’s father and brother were headed to Halifax from the Punjab region of India, having received emergency visas on compassionate grounds. So far as is known, they arrived in Canada shortly thereafter, and are still in the country.

Any rumours concerning "honour killing" are, of course, completely unfounded.

Brampton man charged with 3 counts of kidnapping and sexual assault

Today the Brampton Guardian, part of the Toronto Red Star (alleged) newspaper group, ran a story headed "'Incredibly violent, reprehensible acts': Brampton man charged in series of sexual assaults in Peel and York regions". What was incredible about their politically correct story was that, in spite of the cops asking anyone with further information to contact them, the alleged paper omitted from their story the name and photo of the accused.

Therefore, as a public service, and as a follow-up to "Math quiz for residents of Toronto" WWW 18/11/24, we present a slightly edited version of a press release from the Peel Region Police Service. Explanatory notes follow.

Investigators have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with multiple sexual assault investigations in which three women were victimized.

On Friday, November 8, 2024, at approximately 7:00 a.m., an adult female victim was waiting at a bus stop in the area of Countryside Drive and Bramalea Road in the City of Brampton. A black 4-door sedan approached the victim, and the driver purported to be a rideshare operator. The victim was driven to the area of Highway 27 and Nashville Road in the City of Vaughan and was sexually assaulted.

At approximately 7:43 a.m. the same day, a second adult female victim was waiting at a bus stop in the area of Goreridge Crescent and Via Romano Way in the City of Brampton. A black 4-door sedan approached the victim, and the driver purported to be a rideshare operator. The victim was driven to the area of Highway 50 south of Gore Road in the City of Brampton and was sexually assaulted.

On Saturday, November 16, 2024, at approximately 6:45 a.m., an adult female victim was waiting at a bus stop in the area of Airport Road and Humberwest Parkway in Brampton. The victim was approached by a newer model 4-door sedan and was offered a ride. The victim was driven to the area of Countryside Drive just west of Airport Road and sexually assaulted.

Investigators believe that the same suspect was responsible for all three incidents. The suspect spoke Punjabi to the victims in all three incidents. Arshdeep Singh, [Seriously? Ed.] a 22-year-old man from Brampton, has been arrested and charged with:
- Kidnapping (x3)
- Sexual Assault
- Sexual Assault with a Weapon
- Sexual Assault by Strangulation
- Robbery
- Utter Threats (x2)
He was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton....

Investigators believe there may be more victims and are urging anyone with any information to contact investigators of the Special Victims Unit at 905-453-2121, extension 3460. Anonymous information may also be submitted by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or visiting www.peelcrimestoppers.ca.

Although the Grauniad fails to name Mr Singh, possibly for fear of provoking still more anti-immigrant backlash, it does identify him as an international student (likely at the famous Singh School of Truck Driving) who came to Canada from India on a student visa in December 2022.

Although he isn't wearing a turban in his mugshot, your dollar will get you 100 of Walt's if he's not a Sikh. Get your bets down at the Fort Mudge barber shop.

All Sikhs are Singhs... but not all Singhs are Sikhs.

Punjabi is the principal language of the Punjab, a large area of Pakistan and India which Sikhs are now fighting (literally) to have declared a separate country, Khalistan.

Canada's Minister of Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship [note the order. Ed.] announced last week taht he expects the 4.9 million temporary residents of Canada, such as Mr Singh, to leave voluntarily when their visas expire. He also expects two moons to rise in the sky when that happens.

CORRECTION: The Canuckistan Ministry of Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship [sic] has contacted us to advise that only 776,000 of the temporary residents mentioned in the preceding paragraph will have their visas expire this year. Moreover, not all of them will have to leave, voluntarily or otherwise. Some will have their visas extended... provided, of course, that they vote the right way in the coming election.

Sikh soldiers from Canada ready to liberate Punjab?

There was much tightening of sphincters across the Indian state of Punjab, and much soiling of shorts in New Delhi and Ottawa yesterday, when this photo, taken on Sunday, appeared on the Net.

WTF? Where was this? Who are those guys?! What was going on? The answer to the second question is that they were parading down Lakeshore Boulevard in Toronto -- the city that thinks it's world-class. The members of the Canadian Armed Forces (for that's why they are) are not (as some thought) Jagmeet Singh's personal bodyguards, nor are they (as rumoured) members of an elite squad of Indo-Canadians departing for a mission to liberate "Khalistan", aka the Punjab, homeland to Canada's million or so Sikhs.

They are Sikhs though, as is their ultimate commander, the Canadian Minister of Defence, Harjit Sajjan. Mr Sajjan claimed today that he did not authorized the appearance of this squad in the annual Khalsa Day parade, in which Sikhs anticipate the, errr, liberation of Khalistan. Mr Sajjan says (now) that there was nothing wrong with these turbaned heroes being in the parade, but that their commander should have ordered "No assault rifles!" Or "at least not 'at the ready' as if you're on combat patrol! That comes later..."

Both the commander who authorized the marching contingent to carry rifles (against government policy) and whoever told them how to carry the rifles (just plain stupid) definitely have some `splainin' to do! A spokesthingy for the CAF said the army's top commander in Ontario is following up with the unit and has issued additional orders prohibiting the carrying of weapons at similar events.

She could not, however, say whether a formal investigation or disciplinary action had been launched. Chances of that happening when those involved, including the Honourable Mr Sajjan, are Sikhs? Slim and none. Hey, there's an election coming in less than six months!

Indian minister links Mississauga blast with terrorism

This is a follow-up to yesterday's post, "Mississauga ON restaurant bombing: hate, terror, or ???". Politically correct Canadian officials are still saying they have no idea what might have motivated the two men who exploded an IED in the Bombay Bhel restaurant in Mississauga ON on Thursday night.

Was it a hate crime? If so, who are the haters? Was it terrorism? If so, who are the terrorists? Two suspects are still at large. So far there's just one security camera photo of the perps. Their faces are masked but their physiognomy does not appear to be, errr, black. And a preliminary report describing one of them as having fair skin -- around the eyes presumably, since that's all you can see -- was quickly withdrawn.

So... not white, not black... brown, perhaps? South Asian perhaps? As Walt pointed out yesterday, Mississauga has in recent decades been overrun by Indians and Pakistanis, most of them Hindus, Muslims and (especially) Sikhs. The Sikhs are the ones with form when it comes to terror bombings, going back as far as the bombing of Air India flight 182 in 1985. See "Jagmeet Singh needs to get it straight on the Air India bombing", by Jonathan Kay, CBC News, 19/10/17.

The militant Sikhs have no compunction, it seems, about killing non-Sikh Indians, singly (as in the assassination of Indira Ghandi by her Sikh bodyguards) or by the planeload, for the sake of an independent Khalistan. Nor do they cavil at bring their religious hatreds with them when they immigrate to other parts of the world. But that's what our pro-immigration politicians want! That's the diversity that makes us strong! See "Saying the unsayable about the unspeakable in Brampton, Canada", WWW 25/4/14.

Although no white, Christian (?) Canuck politician has dared to hint at any connection between the Sikh community -- they vote, you know! -- and this week's bombing, the possibility has occurred to Captain Amarinder Singh, the chief minister of India's Punjab state. Capt. Singh, who is a Sikh, took to social media yesterday to condemn Thursday night's "incident". Here's what he wrote.

And here's a photo of Canuck Prime Minister Just In Trudeau meeting with Captain Singh during the former's live-your-fantasy tour of India last February.

Captain Singh revealed yesterday that during his tête-à-tête with Mr Dressup he raised concerns about "radicalism" in Canada and sought the Liberal government's co-operation in fighting terrorism.

A group calling itself "Sikhs On Media" (which seems to have remarkable access to the media of Canuckistan) later issued a statement saying Captain Singh’s remarks were inappropriate because they insinuated that, even though there's no evidence, certain specific communities (which they modestly decline to name) may have been to blame for the blast.

Their statement, carried by Global News, reads as follows: "As there is currently no information available as to the motives behind this heinous act or who the perpetrators may be, we strongly condemn the unfounded and highly irresponsible comments made by senior Indian officials. Any insinuation that this terrible crime is linked to any specific community is baseless and highly damaging. This type of speculation or spreading of false information before a full investigation is completed, is a reprehensible attempt to take advantage of an extremely tragic situation for political purposes. It is an attempt to sow division when unity is needed."

Now that a prominent Sikh -- the chief minister of Punjab, no less -- has linked the Mississauga blast with terrorism, will Canajan "authorities" dare to say "Ya think?" Will there be reprisals? Will further battles in the war for an independent Khalistan be fought not in India but in Canuckistan? Will Canada's Minister of Defence -- a Sikh -- order Canadian troops into Mississauga and Brampton to keep the peace? Stay tuned!

Still more "honour" in Brampton

Not 48 hours after the arrest of Jatinder Singh Dhaliwal, a Sikh gentleman residing in Brampton ON, on a charge of murdering his wife, Lakhvir, Peel Regional police have felt the collar of Skinder Singh Punia, another Sikh gentleman residing in Brampton. He is charged with abetting the murder of sister-in-law, Poonam Litt, in February of 2009.

He is alleged to have assisted the murderer of Poonam Litt, namely Mandeep Punia, 35, of Brampton. She is the sister of Ms Litt’s husband, who conveniently was in India at the time of his wife’s sudden death. His father, Kulwant Singh Litt, 63, also of Brampton, has also been charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder.

Sounds like the Punjabi version of All in the Family, doesn't it. How can I say that? Well, I didn't think All in the Family was funny either. Not after the first episode, at least. After that it got kind of repetitive and predictable.

Elderly Sikhs face extradition to India for arranging killing of bride

Honour killings are not exclusive to Muslims or Afghans. Indians and Pakistanis of the Hindu and Sikh persuasions are known to kill brides who turn out to be bad choices, for instance by failing to provide sufficiently large dowries. "Kitchen accidents" resulting in fiery deaths are not unknown even in the west.

This is Sheila Allan's drawing, published in the Globe and Mail, of Malkit Singh Sidhu and Surjit Badesha. (All Sikhs are Singhs... but not all Singhs are Sikhs.) They are in the dock of the British Columbia Supreme Court, facing extradition to India for allegedly having ordered the brutal slaying of Ms. Sidhu’s daughter, Jassi, after the young woman married a man of whom her wealthy family didn’t approve.

Jassi Sidhu was from the Vancouver BC suburb of Maple Ridge and worked as a beautician. The 25-year-old met her eventual husband on a trip to India. Sikhs are not included in Hinduism's elaborate caste system, but they certainly believe in class. Jassi's family is said to have opposed the marriage because the groom was only a humble rickshaw driver.

In June 2000, Jassi was found with her throat slashed, in an irrigation ditch in the Indian state of Punjab, the Sikh heartland. Her husband was seriously injured in the attack.

The Mounties say Indian authorities have uncovered evidence Ms. Sidhu’s family was involved in her killing from Canada. A number of family members have been arrested and prosecuted in India.

RCMP and other Canadian government officials have travelled to India on a number of occasions to work on the case and the extradition process, and have just now -- more than 11 years later -- issued arrest warrants. Ah yes, the Mounties always get their man. [Errr, "person". Be politically correct, please! Ed.] They just don't say how long it's going to take.
