Canadians! Sign this petition for a snap federal election!

Earlier today Walt posted Michael Matt's latest video in which he calls on us right-thinking people (geddit?) to keep up the fight against the liberals, wokesters, and all who would destroy our society. We need to stand up to them, to resist them to their faces!

One whose smug, self-satisfied face begs for resistance (or worse) is Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister (and Emperor wannabe) of Canuckistan. Recent polls show that the majority of Canucks -- of every region, race, creed, and gender -- can't stand him! According to the Angust Reid Institute, his approval rating as of October 2023 is a mere 33%, right down there with Demented Joe Biden's.

What is needed, most Canadians say, is an election. Sadly, because the pinko New Democratic Party is pledged to support Trudeau's Liberals come hell or high water, no election need be held until 2025. Unless... unless... enough Members of Parliament can see the handwriting on the wall to support a non-confidence motion in the House of Commons.

That's why Michelle Ferreri, the Conservative MP for Peterborough-Kawartha, is supporting an online petition, e-4701, now on the Commons website, waiting for your signature!

On 30 November, Ms Ferreri wrote on Facebook, "Misery is a powerful motivator and clearly this petition is elevating the voices of Canadians who are sick of the Trudeau-imposed misery and want a leader and a government they can trust."

The petition was originally put forward by Peterborough resident Melissa Outwater, who runs a Facebook page highly critical of Trudeau. Freedom Through Unity Peterborough/Kawartha includes posts from people mistrustful of Covid-19 policies and government in general. 

"The policies of this government aren't aligning with the crisis Canada is facing: housing costs, infringement of civil liberties, highest inflation in history, unbalanced immigration policies, taxation to the point of poverty, weakening of our economy by importing natural resources that Canada already has and under-utilizes," the petition states. "Based on the past eight years of this Prime Minister, Canadians do not have confidence in this Prime Minister, after five ethics investigations and Canada’s reputation being tarnished on a global scale under his leadership." 

Since it was started on 24 November, the petition has garnered some 175,000 signatures from across the Great No-longer-white North. The Peterborough Examiner reports that Ontario leads the tally with 65,244, followed by Alberta at 44,576 and Nunavut last on the list with 44 signatures. 

No matter how many signatures the petition attracts, it is unlikely to succeed, because the MPs of not just the Liberals but all the other parties are so shit-scared of losing their jobs and their pensions in the Tory tsunami that will result from a snap election. All the same, if you're Canadian and you agree with the millions of Canucks who think it's time for Trudeau to go, you should sign the petition! Doing so is your personal act of resistance!

True Names Dept + Why Walt went to London (Ontario)

Ed. here again. In my earlier post we left Walt and the South Park boys (Walt doesn't appear in the video) somewhere in Canada, after their City Airlines plane, piloted by Tuong Lu Kim, made an unscheduled landing. The boys wanted to see Canada's "new prime minister", Blackie McBlackface. Walt, however, wants to see what will happen to the forces of conservatism in today's general election in the province of Ontario.

Here at WWW we have a policy of not covering or commenting on regional -- state or provincial -- politics, unless there's some national or international issue involved. Walt insists the results of the Ontario election will show whether Ontarians, a pretty middle-of-the-road herd of sheep, are ready for real conservative politics and politicians.

The answer will have implications for the Conservative Party of Canada, which will in Sepotemnber choose yet another leader, from a slate of wannabes ranging from social conservative (Leslyn Lewis) to liberal (Jean Charest), with a pseudo-conservative (Pierre Poilievre) the current front-runner.

Ontarians are funny -- "funny curious", not "funny haha" -- in that they prefer having opposing parties in power federally and provincially. So it is that for the last century or so they send mostly Liberals to Ottawa and mostly Conservatives to the Pink Palace at Queen's Park in Toronto. The party known federallyn as "Conservative" is still called "Progressive Conservative" at the provincial level, and that oxymoron tells you all you need to know about the clever mugwumpery that has kept it in power for so long. As former premier "Brampton Billy" Davis used to say, "Bland works."

In 2017, after sitting on the wrong (read: opposition) side of the Ontario Legislature, the "Ontario PCs", as they now style themselves. to avoid using the dreaded C-word, chose a new leader, Doug Ford, who promised to move the party at least an RCH to the right of centre. 

He lied. Elected premier in 2018, he rode out the Covid "crisis" and other problems by the same old mix of big government, deficit financing and handouts to all and sundry, used by Liberal governments in Ottawa and (before Ford) in Toronto.

It worked. Mr Ford is now the odds-on favourite to be re-elected today, perhaps with an increased majority. The hapless Liberals (who lost official party status in 2018) are fighting it out with the socialistic Not-so-new Democrats for second place. 

Shown below, left to right are: Mr Ford, Liberal leader Steve DelDuca, the NDP's Andrea Horwath, and Mike Schreiner, leader of the Green Party. Mr Schreiner hopes to double his party's representation in the legislature from one (himself) to two. The other two are likely to lose their jobs and, in the case of Mr DelDuca, his own seat.  

This time, however, there are two new, seriously conservative -- socially as well as fiscally -- in the running. They are the Ontario Party, headed by Derek Sloan, and the New Blue Party (no kidding), led by Jim Karahelios. 

Both are disgruntled former "Conservative" MPs/MPPs, who feel (with reason) that real conservatives have been shut out of the traditional parties, betrayed by leaders like Mr Ford and former CPC leader Erin O'Tool, who campaigned from the right and governed from the centre-left. Both of the new parties are polling about 2%, just as Max Bernier's People's Party of Canada did on its first outing. 

Walt is in London (or somewhere near there), waiting to see if real conservatism has at last taken root in Canada's most populous (if not popular or populist) province.  

Well, I seem to have gone around the horn there, as Fred C. Dobbs would say. There's no room left for the True Names story I promised in the headline. I'll put that up later.

VIDEO: Canadian election: Dr Jordan Peterson talks with Max Bernier

Right from the day Prime Minister Blackie McBlackface called the totally unnecessary general election to be held on September 20th, the Canadian media -- bought and paid for by the Liberal government -- have pretended that Maxime Bernier and his People's Party of Canada don't exist. So also with the pollsters and, as reported here, the "non-partisan" (HA!) Leaders' Debate Commission. 

There was, and still is, a rather obvious conspiracy to silence any voices not subscribing to the liberal orthodoxy. It has become impossible, just this week, for the elites and their controlled media to ignore "Mad Max" and the PPC any longer. Just today a poll by the liberal Nick Nanos showed the PPC with over 7% support nationwide, compared with the 2% of the popular vote which they garnered in the 2019 election. 

The so-called (but not really) Conservatives, and their leader Erin O'Toole, are quaking in their boots, fearing that the PPC will bleed off just enough of their support to ensure a win for the loathsome Liberals. 

Dr Jordan Peterson, well known as a voice of conservative reason in a loony liberal world, invited both M Bernier and Mr O'Tool to discuss their positions, and the future of conservatism in Canada. Mr O'Tool declined. So now we have Dr Peterson's wide-ranging interview with M Bernier, recorded yesterday. If you have yet to hear M Bernier explain himself and his aims, here's your chance.

Now, for the last time: Walt's advice for conservative Canucks, and everyone else who's sick of Just In Trudeau and all his pomps and wokeness: 

If you live in a riding where the Conservative candidate is in a close race with the Liberals or NDP, hold your nose and vote for him/her. 

If you're in a Québec riding where the Cons have little chance, vote for the PPC if they have a decent chance of winning, otherwise for the Bloc. 

In all other circumstances, cast your ballot for the only party that offers a real conservative alternative -- Maxime Bernier's People's Party of Canada.

Unless something really astounding happens this weekend, this will likely be my last post until Tuesday. I am planning to be somewhere north of the World's Longest Undefended Border to watch the returns come in on Monday. It promises to be a long and interesting night.

VIDEO: Stephen Harper & Joe Lonsdale on over-reaction to the "pandemic and economic crisis" and the illiberalism of "wokeness"

When I began this blog in 2009, The Prez was (supposedly) running the Excited States of America, and Stephen Harper was Prime Minister of Canuckistan. The former was and is an extreme liberal. The latter held himself out as a conservative, but only just. I disliked both of them intensely, and started WWW to let my feelings be known to anyone who cared to read.

In retrospect, I was too hard on Mr Harper, whose general nastiness led me to call him "Steve Harpoon". Compared with his successor -- Blackie McBlackface, PM of Canuckistan -- I recognize that Mr Harpoon was an exemplar of good judgment [What about the appointment of Mike Puffy to the Senate? Ed.] whose thoughts on the current "pandemic and economic crisis" (his phrase) deserve to be listened to by both Canadians and Americans.

In this 39-minute episode of Joe Lonsdale's American Optimist podcast, Mr Harper accuses the Canadian government of spending irresponsibly in its attempt to fend off the economic disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. "It's not a good reaction, it's been overkill. This is bad macroeconomic policy on an enormous scale." 

He touches on a wide range of topics, including Canada's response to the pandemic, the rise of "woke" culture and the dangers of an emboldened China on the world stage. Give a listen. 

 

If you skipped over the video link to keep reading, I urge you to go back and listen, especially to the part of the interview in which Mr Harper takes aim at the "woke university crowd" for its attempts to tear down American and Western values. "I'm just fascinated by this notion that is just everywhere now, the so-called woke notion that America is a fundamentally racist country. And yet what I see is all of these supposedly repressed races trying desperately to become Americans and to join the United States.  

"It's not that there aren't problems, historical and present, that are real, but the core of our countries are great, they have great futures and there is no alternative," said Mr Harper, explaining that the modern political left has become "entirely nihilist" and appears more interested in tearing down existing systems than in upholding and improving upon traditional democratic values. "There are elements in our own countries," he said, "which do not want us to succeed!"

Disclaimer: We should point out that Joe Lonsdale is the founder of 8VC, a venture capital firm of which Mr Harper has been a director since 2017.

Ann Coulter muses: How about "Trumpism without Trump"?

I don't read Ann Coulter a lot, because I find her books and columns somewhat lightweight. And I've never heard her speak. Perhaps I should start paying attention, for it seems she delivered a thought-provoking speech Thursday night to the University of Texas at Austin's Young Conservatives of Texas.

Breitbart News reports that she strayed way off the announced topic of immigration, and argued that what America needs, in four years, is "Trumpism without Trump". Since most of the Breitbart report is quotes from Ms Coulter's speech, I trust they (and she) won't mind if I repost them, with just a few edits for brevity.

In Ms Coulter's opinion, the 2020 presidential election has produced "the best of all possible outcomes" for conservatives. "The reason I’m very happy that [President] Trump lost – and lost narrowly – is that a second term of Trump would have killed us," she said. "What we want, and what I think we can get in four years, is Trumpism without Trump."

What would that look like? Ms Coulter defined "Trumpism" as America taking care of its own people first. "The left behind, the working class, the middle class — they want jobs, they want safe neighbourhoods. They don't want to have to keep paying taxes for English as a Second Language classes and to pay for emergency rooms with a lot of illegal immigrants coming in with many...health problems. We have to take care of our own first. That's Trumpism. And it hasn't been tried. It certainly hasn't triumphed."

Why not? Ms Coulter explained, "[Trump would] say these wild things that we'd get blamed for, he'd get attacked on, and then actually did nothing. Trump thinks, 'I tweeted it. Therefore, it's done.'... It's ironic...that he lost this election, very possibly because of cheating. Democrats cheat all the time. … Trump has been talking about 'mail-in ballots are dangerous, they're gonna steal this election.' He’s been talking about it probably all year. [But] talking about it isn’t the same as doing it."

"Much like as he tweeted out, 'Law and Order'," she added, "and yet cities are still burning across the nation. [He] didn’t do anything about it. It's like he didn't know he was president.... So, I think the Republicans' position [in the next four years] has to be: This is the new Republican Party. It will be Trumpism, but we're getting rid of the eight-year-old."

Ms Coulter advised Republicans to remain focused on populist issues. "But we're going to have someone who speaks well, who is articulate, who hates the media, hates political correctness.... It'll be a lot easier to push Trumpism without Trump."

"I'm glad he lost," she continued. "I'm glad it was very, very narrow. And I'm glad we seem to have held the Senate. … And we have definitely held the House [of Representatives]. That means they [Democrats] couldn't do anything terrible.

"My friends in California were warning me when I was totally, totally on the Trump bandwagon, actually in 2015, after he announced [his candidacy for president]. In California they were all saying, 'Ann, he’s gonna be like Arnold Schwarzenegger. He talks a good game, he'll get in, he'll become a liberal,'" Ms Coulter recalled. 

She speculated that a Trump second term would have been like "Arnold Schwarzenegger's second term, except even worse. Jared Kushner would be out releasing criminals, passing the amnesty.... It would have been an unmitigated disaster, and we'd never be able to get the MAGA agenda back."

Ms Coulter's conclusion? "Trumpism without Trump — that is the winning formula!" That's a great debate topic -- something Republicans and conservatives need to think about and discuss, starting on the day Still-President Trump concedes defeat. It would be nice if that day never comes, and I would be on board if The Donald decides to take another shot at the presidensity in 2024, but, as Ms Coulter suggests, there must surely be other options.

Note from Ed.: Am I the only one who sees the resemblance between Ann Coulter and Canada's Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson? Is that calculated, do you think?

VIDEO: Believe it or not, Canada has a conservativ(ish) news channel!

In North America, TV news and information programming -- on cable/satellite and over-the-air -- is pretty much the domain of the lamestream media. In the Excited States of America, if you want to listen to the news, you're pretty much in the thrall of the Big Three: NBC, CBS and ABC. On cable you get the additional "choices" of CNN (the Clinton News Network) and MSNBC (even worse). 

All of them, all of them broadcast "news" and opinions ranging across the political spectrum from left(ish) to far left to Rachel Maddow. We can include as well the talk shows populated by sufferers from TDS like The View's Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg.

If you're an American of a conservative mind or political bent, and think the lamestream news outlets are full of shit, and would like an alternative, your only choice is Fox, but you'll have to wait until The Simpsons and Family Guy are over.

If you're one of the 30 million or so Canadians who live within 100 miles of the World's Longest Undefended Border (TM), you might be able to pull in some US stations over the air, and you can watch all of them on cable/satellite. But you won't find any Canadian news there unless someone makes an attempt on Hair Boy's life. [Would the lamestream media notice? Ed.]

If you can't or won't watch American TV, you still have the Canadian Broadcorping Castration (CBC), owned and operated by the Canadian Ministry of Truth. There are two other major networks -- CTV and Global -- which generally toe the Liberal party line. But wait! Suddenly a new news outlet has appeared in the ether, and... can you believe it... they seem to be at least somewhat conservative! Here's the trailer for The News Forum "where all voices matter".  

Yes, they're new and (mostly) not broadcast professionals. Some of them still don't know which camera to look at. There are some, like Tony "Gazebo" Clement, Joe Oliver and their ole boss, Lyin' Brian Mulroney, who will be instantly disliked by Canadians who know their back stories. But then there's Tanya Granic Allen, for whom Agent 3 (who sent us the link to this video) has all the time in the world. Walt agrees and commends The News Forum to you, but not without reservation. See "Warning from Agent 3", below.

Ed. here. On reading V.1 of this post, Agent 3 called to warn us to restrain our enthusiasm for The News Forum. He says: Don't kid yourself (he adds) that you're going to see and hear truly conservative opinions there. The new medium is dominated by former and present Members of the Canadian Parliament who were elected as Conservatives, or, in the case of former Prime Minister Mulroney, Progressive Conservatives. Lyin' Brian actually appears in a promo spot saying that Canuckistan needs more immigrants! 

What you're going to hear on The News Forum is the centre-right (more centre than right) Conservative Party line, as enunciated by new leader Erin O'Tool, and MPs Pierre Poilievre and Dean Allison... but not Derek Sloan, the "Conservative Without Apology" who finished last in the CPC's recent leadership contest. 

And don't expect appearances by Maxime Bernier, Ezra Levant, Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson, Gavin McInnes, Mark Steyn or Mike from Simcoe-Grey County-Clearview Township. As "Mad Max" said a few weeks ago in "Is there any hope for conservatives in Canada?", his People's Party of Canada is the only truly conservative party in the Great Not-so-white North.

The Trudeau Liberals (and Michael Moore) wish Canucks would ignore

American film-maker and certified lefty Michael Moore has been a fan of Canada ever since he mailed a VHS copy of his first documentary, Roger & Me, in a plain brown paper bag to the Vancouver International Film Festival and it went on to win a top prize. Mr Moore has long viewed America's northern neighbour as a more decent, humanitarian version of the Paranoid States of America. So it was "crushing", he said in Vancouver on Friday, to see photographs of Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau made up in blackface.

Mr Moore thinks Canucks should overlook Just In's foibles and vote for him again. But just 25% of the country agrees that he deserves to be re-elected. That's according to a poll published yesterday by the Toronto Sun as part of the DART & Maru/Blue Voice Canada Poll. When asked if it is time for a change in government or if the government deserved to be re-elected, 55% said it was time for a change. Only 25% said they thought Mr Socks and the Liberals had done a good job.

The big question is, will some of the 55% hold their noses and vote for M Trudeau and his Gliberal team anyway? Every poll of voting intentions (a different question from the one posed in this poll) has the Liberals in the low 30% range of decided voters, in a statistical tie with Andrew Scheer's Mildly Conservatives. Will the Leaders' Debate tonight change many minds? Will more pix of Just In, in an offensive costume of some sort, surface between now and election day? Will anything happen that will break the tie? Stay tuned!

Beauty queen joins Women For Trump Coalition Advisory Board

This is a good news follow-up to "'Majority of blacks killed by other blacks' -- that's 'offensive'?", WWW 23/7/19. According to BPR: Business & Politics, Kathy Zhu, the conservative beauty queen who was stripped off her "Miss Michigan" title because of a couple of tweets that offended the SJWs and snowflakes, has a new gig with Team Trump. She is now a member of the Women For Trump Coalition Advisory Board! Congrats, Kathy!

President Trump's reelection campaign announced Thursday that Ms Zhu -- who happens to be a vizmin, by the way -- is now part of The Women for Trump Coalition Advisory Board, an official arm of the Trump 2020 reelection campaign. They tweeted, "Team Trump welcomes Kathy Zhu to the Official Women for Trump Coalition Advisory Board! [Kathy] is a patriot who has continued to stand for American values despite being stripped of her crown. Thank you for your support of President."

Ms Zhu, thrilled to be on board, tweeted her eagerness to reelect the president in these words. "I am so excited to now be part of the #WomenforTrump Coalition Advisory Board! Let’s get Trump re-elected for 2020 🇺🇸😁." Walt agrees and wishes Kathy Zhu all the best!

UPDATED: Another victory for the right! This time it's Greece!

For some reason, European (and North American) liberals have their hair on fire about this man, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, being elected on Sunday as Prime Minister of Greece. Can't be because his name is a mouthful for non-speakers of Greek. Maybe it's the optics of his victory salute. Or, more likely, it's the fact that his conservative New Democracy party delivered a body blow to pinko Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras after a tumultuous four years of socialist misrule, following the trend set last year by the Italians.

The pollsters and (((controlled media))) were taken by surprise, of course, having predicted Mr Tsipras would win the snap election called a few weeks ago. They were out of touch, it seems, with the feelings of nearly 40% of Greek voters, tired of crippling austerity (imposed by the European Union after Greece nearly crashed out of the Euro), not to mention high unemployment and the problems caused by millions of "refugees" and asylum-seekers washing up on the shores of the Greek islands.

Mr Mitsotakis said he had a clear mandate for change, pledging more investments and fewer taxes. "I am committed to fewer taxes, many investments, for good and new jobs, and growth which will bring better salaries and higher pensions in an efficient state," he said in his victory speech. Although Mr Mitsotakis is regarded as a moderate, New Democracy was accused by the lefties of "harbouring members with right-wing views", including many who left the ultra-right Golden Dawn party to back a winner and get rid of the liberals.

Strategic voting was in evidence with early results suggesting Golden Dawn might not reach the 3% threshold needed to enter the Greek parliament under the country's proportional representation system. It's possible, however, that Mr Mitsotakis may need their support should New Democracy fail to garner enough votes to form a majority government. Stay tuned.

VIDEO: Frank Vaughan: I was wrong about Max Bernier and the People's Party of Canada!

Just stumbled across a great video posted back in February by Frank Vaughan, a farmer (so he says) from somewhere in Canada. I'll have to check him out, see what else he's said, but in this video "Why I Was Wrong About Maxime Bernier And The PPC" he sounds as if he's got his head screwed on right... and I do mean RIGHT! Mr Vaughan talks about the People's Party of Canada, Mad Max Bernier and all the disinformation, lies and slurs that have been directed at him since he started making Canadian conservatives uncomfortable. VIDEO: Dave Rubin interviews the next prime minister of Canada (?)

Dave Rubin is a star interviewer on the Internet, especially popular among millennials, according to one of my kids, who is one -- a millennial, I mean. Hundreds of thousands of conservatives and libertarians watch his show. On his show this week, he interviewed Maxime Bernier, a member of the Canadian parliament and leader of the newly created (and now officially recognized) People's Party of Canada.

In this one-hour interview, "Mad Max" and Dave discuss the state of Canadian politics, leading his new party ‘The People’s Party of Canada,’ why he disagrees with Justin Trudeau, his views on immigration in Canada, political correctness, the difference between libertarianism and conservatism, and much more.



Dear frostback readers, can you imagine any of the "mainstream party" leaders -- Andrew Scheer, Justin Trudeau, or Jagmeet Singh -- appearing on this show? They wouldn't and couldn't, because they would be unable to answer Dave's questions. All they could do would be to repeat their usual meaningless talking points. M Bernier is willing and able to dig down into the issues, particularly the economic challenges, facing Canada... and the USA... today. When he says, "The deficits of today are the taxes of tomorrow," he reminds me a bit of Ron Paul, actually. More power to him!
