UPDATED: The end of Western civilization is here (VIDEO)

I don't want readers to think of me as one of those street-corner preachers, wearing a hair shirt and holding a sign saying "The end of the world is coming!" But, as I wrote in  "Not only the Vatican opposes woke gender ideology" (WWW 20/11/25), the end of our world -- of our Western (i.e. Christian) civilization -- is what the One-Worlders, including many Catholic hierarchs, are planning for us and pushing on us. 

Their replacement will be a New World Order of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in which all cultures are equal -- some more so than yours, dear reader -- and Christianity is replaced by the New World Religion of secular humanism, in which believers are their own gods and define their own morality. (Offer void where prohibited by Sharia law.)

The latest episode of Anthony Stine's Return to Tradition vlog, a priest who lost everything speaking the truth to the Church, has a new warning about the end of the Christian age.

Mr. Stine seems to assume that his followers already know of Father Donald Kloster. For those who don't, Fr. Kloster is a priest of the Diocese of Bridgeport CT, and a very traditional Catholic. In a shot across the bow against the open borders ideology that has taken hold in the halls of power in many Western European capitals, the U.S. State Department urged its allies 'to take bold action and defend citizens against the threats posed by mass migration.'"

Not only the Vatican opposes woke gender ideology (+ bonus VIDEO)

Yes, Virginia, there really is a conspiracy of the WEF/Davos/one-worlders to destroy Western civilization, "that all may be one".  They do it by insinuating their queer, secular humanist, ultra-woke ideology into every possible medium for social intercourse, to the point where their perverted ideas and ideals have now become the accepted orthodoxy.

Accepted, that is, in the Woke West -- the AABC countries and western Europe. You don't hear the "influencers" and thought leaders in places like Hungary, Russia, China, India, Africa and Latin America pushing the DEI agenda. or giving platforms to drag queens (see video) or queers preaching against the morality of the Bible or the Quran.  

Say what you will about Islam, Sikhism, even Hinduism, their holy books as well as the Bible give us a moral compass, a way to live, a code of proper behaviour that will please -- not offend -- God. And there are believers, even in the West, who look to the scriptures for guidance, and reject the amorality of the New World Order.

Because the One-Worlders keep pushing their amoral ideologies and decadent culture on the rest of the world, the clash between the "old values" and the New World Order comes up in every international conference or gathering, particularly those organized by the Disunited Nations. We see that right now at COP30, the 30th annual United Nations climate change conference, where the unwoke (read: non-Western) rejection of gender ideology risks complicating the outcome.

Six governments -- Paraguay, Argentina, Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia as well as the Holy See -- have moved to attach to a key text their own interpretations which (according to the apostles of queerness) would block recognition of trans and non-binary people, and set a "harmful precedent" that could "seep into other shared decisions" taken by the UN’s climate body. 

A reliable source (who wisely chose to remain anonymous) told an international press agency yesterday that "There is 'frustration within rooms' because they were not authorized to discuss the sensitive issue. It’s become a bit ridiculous — we have six footnotes right now; should we have 90?"

At stake is a revamped "Gender Action Plan" (seriously... GAP) meant to guide work for the next decade. The GAP includes commandments to "mainstream gender across climate programs". Climate change, it seems, is no longer as important as the rights of wimmin... and those who identify as any of the other 90-odd genders besides "male".

The GAP was adopted in 2017 and strengthened in 2019. COP30 is now working on a new, even more woke version. The footnotes proposed by those who believe there are only two genders -- M and F -- reveal their proponents' red lines around the term "gender", some longstanding, others part of the rising tide of anti-wokeism.

The Holy See, for example, says it understands gender as "grounded on the biological sexual identity that is male and female." Pretty straightforward, eh. Argentina, a majority-Catholic country led by President Trump's ally Javier Milei has rolled back DEI policies and LGBTQ(etc) rights, and attacked the cancer of wokeism.

A source on the other side of the gender ideology divide contends there is no need to reopen the definition, because parties can already interpret decisions according to their national circumstances. "Allowing countries to attach their own interpretations to agreed language does not protect national sovereignty. It undermines multilateralism itself." Aha! That word -- multilateralism -- is the shibboleth of the New World Order! 

Here's another quote that reveals the not-so-well-hidden agenda. Bridget Burns, executive director of the Women’s Environment and Development Organization, told AFP, "If every Party could footnote core terms like finance, ambition or equity, we would have no negotiation left -- only fragmentation. Gender equality is an agreed principle under this Convention. It needs no qualification." Let there be no dissent!

How to square the circle? One possible off-ramp, said the anonymous source first referred to, would be for the opposing countries to deliver statements after a decision is adopted, ensuring their positions are reflected in the official record. Walt thinks that's a fine idea, since COP30, GAP, and the whole steaming pile of bullshit will be largely ignored by everyone except, perhaps, our woke Western government.

Here's our old friend Gavin McInnes -- good to see ya, Gavin! -- talking about the insufferable wokeness of the BBC, where it seems female (real female) staffers have had enough of the Corpse's trans dogma. The state-run media doesn't just crowbar gender-neutral weirdoes into every programme, they also deny murderers are male if the guy is wearing a dress. Sez Gavin "It's as ridiculous as it is dangerous." Give a listen.

Many years ago, when I was eking out my tuition by playing piano in a [Shame on you if you thought  "brothel". In fact it was a Baptist church! Ed.] I learned a gospel song which began like this:

These lyrics flashed through my mind as I watched the latest episode of The Remnant Underground featuring Michael Matt, editor of The Remnant newspaper. Mr Matt talks about:

* the sacking of Raymond Cardinal Burke by Francis, the "Pope of Mercy", which has parked outrage from news networks all over the world. 

* Jewish economist, Jeffrey Sachs' about-face on Dr Fauci's Covid lies, denunciation of the Democrat Party, and allegations that Israel is committing war crimes. 

* The travails of Team Francis. Apparently the minions who arranged the Pope’s Abu Dhabi dialogue with the Grand Imam of al-Azhar didn't know the latter is an enthusiastic supporter of... wait for it... Hamas!

To return to my opening paragraph, Mr Matt says (and yr obdt servant agrees!) that all this is good news, for thes latest acts in the comedy of errors and nonsense portends the demise of the New World Order and New World Religion (the "Church of Francis") being promoted by Messrs Soros, Schwab and Bergoglio. 

These are the last acts of desperate (and desperately misguided) men, facing the decline and fall of their Brave New World. They've overstayed their welcome and overplayed their hand. All that is needed to consign them to the ash-heap of history is for us -- lovers of tradition, freedom, and Christian civilzation -- keep resisting the secular humanist overlords to their faces. 

As Tamara Lich, one of the organizers of the Freedom Convoy, says: Hold the line! As Michael Matt says: Don't lose hope; we are winning! Victory is nigh!

About a month ago, Dr Jordan Peterson (for whom Walt has all the time in the world!) wrote an article for the Daily Wire entitled "Russia Vs. Ukraine Or Civil War In The West?" In this thought-provoking piece, Dr Peterson listed the reasons why we're seeing an extended conflict in Ukraine, and explains why a culture war in the West has fueled the Russian fire.

Since the Daily Wire is accessible only to members, the article was not widely read or circulated. So Dr Peterson read it aloud on his YouTube channel. Click here to watch the entire video. We hope you will now be motivated to click on the link to the full video to understand why there's much more to the war in Ukraine than just resisting Russian imperialism. Those who, like Walt, cherish the ideal of a free and independent Ukraine, need to take a broader and deeper view of the conflict. 

We cannot be assured that we are on The Right Side until we understand the moral, philosophical and ideological positions of the combatants. If it comes down to a civil war between those who stand for the values of Christian civilization and those who espouse today's politically orthodox secular humanism, whose side should we take?

VIDEO: Faith Goldy talks about the de-Christianization of Québec

Faith Goldy (who is not Jewish, by the way), reports on a letter sent by a group of young French-Canadian Catholic men to their bishops, asking them to teach the traditional Catholic Faith -- the faith of our fathers -- and give the spiritual leadership they say is essential to combat the nihilistic culture that tempts many to despair. That includes allowing access to the traditional Latin Mass.

Twenty-nine men between the ages of 18 to 44, including university students, a doctor and two lawyers, calling themselves "The Disinherited", signed the open letter titled "We Ask for Faith: Open Letter to the Bishops of the Catholic Church in French Canada". Ms Goldy says the message of the letter "will stir your soul." It stirred mine, and so I share it here.

Birth rate rising, abortion rate falling - Christian Hungary thriving!

An assiduous reader has asked why Walt has been focusing on the politics of Canada, Europe, even Africa, anywhere but the USA. The answer is simple. I am sick, sore and tired of what passes, these days, for politics in the Excited States of America. With Chuck and Nancy now the effective leaders of the opposition to Still-President Trump, the Democratic Party and (((controlled media))) are now in the terminal stages of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

In their efforts to obstruct and damage the President in any way possible, the Dems are now trying to accomplish through the criminal justice "system" what they have been unable to accomplish by political means. The latest example is their empty threat to issue a contempt citation if Attorney-General William Barr did not show up yesterday for a committee hearing on Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report. Of course they didn't.

While the circus under the big dome goes on... and on... I ask myself, is anybody minding the store? The country's economy, foreign policy, and (most important) security seem to have been put on hold while the Democrats pursue their "agenda of resistance". If anything significant -- a war, for instance -- is done by or to the American government, Walt will write about it. In the meantime, I'll comment on events, good and bad, in parts of the world which are not all stupidly crazy, all the time.

Like Hungary, for instance, where sanity of the Christian nationalist variety has triumphed over the secular humanist, one-world madness of (((George Soros))). On May Day, the Voice of Europe reported that Hungary, which, under the firm leadership of Viktor Orbán, embraced both nationalism and Christian values, is thriving! Marriage rates are rising, the number of abortions is falling, and Christian Hungary is seeing the highest birthrates in two decades.

This demographic turnaround has not been an accident, but the fruit of deliberate programs to promote marriage and the family while defending Hungary's cultural identity and Christian roots. The article quotes Catalan Novak, the nation's Minister for the Family -- imagine the USA having one of those?! -- as saying, “After we won the election in 2010 with a two-thirds majority, we decided to build a family-friendly country and to strengthen families raising children."

A family-friendly country! Wow! What a concept! If we brought that idea into our country, we might even see a resurgence of family values! Standing firm in its position despite fierce opposition from the socialists and one-worlders (whose real goal is ethnic replacement) left, the Orbán government enacted legislation resulting in what Ms Novak calls "a comprehensive family-support system, a family-friendly tax system, a housing program, 800,000 new jobs, and many opportunities to create a balance between life and work."

"We are living in times when fewer and fewer children are being born throughout Europe. People in the West are responding to this with immigration", Prime Minister Orbán said in last February's State of the Nation address in Budapest. "Hungarians see this in a different light. We do not need numbers, but Hungarian children!"

Similarly, IMHO, what our AABC countries (America, Australia, Britain and Canada) need is not more immigrants, but more AABC children. Call that "white supremacy" if you like, but it's working in Hungary!

VIDEO: Is the death penalty really "inadmissable" or "unacceptable"?

Last week, Pope Francis sowed a great deal of confusion amongst faithful Catholics -- especially traditional Catholics like yr obdt servant -- by declaring that capital punishment -- the death penalty -- is "unacceptable in all cases". Until now, the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) taught that the death penalty was acceptable if it was "the only practicable way" to defend lives and protect society.

On Thursday, the Pope said that executions are "an attack on human dignity", and that the Church would work "with determination" to abolish capital punishment worldwide. Abolishing the death penalty has long been one of the Francis's top priorities, along with saving the environment and caring for immigrants and "refugees". That tells you all you need to know about the man who apparently wants to go down in history as "the SJW pope".

The Holy Father seems to have overlooked (or ignored) the fact that making this radical change to what the Church has always taught is likely to challenge Catholic politicians, judges and officials who have argued that their Church was not entirely opposed to capital punishment. And let's not forget the millions of "ordinary people" like Walt who understood from many right-to-life events that the Church was opposed to capital punishment, in any circumstance, as Pope Francis is now saying.

"Thou shalt not kill." Period. I was dimly aware that there were exceptions to that commandment -- a just war, for example -- but didn't realize that an exception might apply in certain criminal cases. Had I thought about it, I would have wondered what sort of crimes deserved that punishment, other than murder. Would treason, for example, be rightly punishable by "Off with his head!"? It certainly wasn't justifiable in the case of Saint Thomas More. How about abortion? Should we kill the baby-killers? How about rape? How bad would it have to be? Would the age of the victim be a factor? There are those who think that execution is too good for someone who rapes of a child of tender years. (St Matthew 18:6)

There is a further point of concern. The president of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization (whatever that is) said that the revision of the CCC's teaching on the death penalty is an instance of "true dogmatic progress...that has gradually matured to the point of making us understand the unsustainability of the death penalty in our day." That's the official Vatican line. It's all part of that "hermeneutic of continuity" that Pope Benedict XVI talked about while making a series of radical breaks with the past.

Writing in L'Osservatore Romano, the official Vatican organ, Abp Rino Fisichella said Church tradition "is not representable as an insect imprisoned in amber, to say it in a colorful English expression. If that were the case, we would have destroyed it. The teaching of the faith of the Church, rather, is an announcement, a word that remains alive..."

But that's Newspeak (vide 1984) It's just wrong! A diocesan priest wrote to me his thoughts on "a very bad move by Francis. I still think that the Holy Spirit knew that it would be a severe test of the faith of many good conservative Catholics; or that maybe Satan got permission from God to 'inspire' the Pope to do this, sure that it would do a lot of harm....

"Catholics in general were not against total mercy, not against dealing with crime other than [by] capital punishment, but...against total condemnation of it because of Scripture, the Church, and tradition. Commendable faith. But the teaching has always been justifying capital punishment, not commanding it....

"On so many levels Francis seems wrong. In order to agree with him I might have to double down and go with the assumption that God in the Old Testament (and even in the New) has catered to man's weakness. That would explain why He allowed polygamy in the O.T. On the other hand, Christ decreed the end of polygamy but did not do the same for capital punishment.... Does that mean there is a difference between changing a teaching that specifically allows something (e.g. capital punishment in some circumstances) and changing a teaching that specifically condemns something (e.g. homosexual practices)?

"I'm also concerned that the Church is taking the necessary tools away from the civil authorities to exercise their responsibility to control crime in some times, places and conditions. These circumstances prevailed in the past, probably exist to some extent even now, and could return again in the unforeseeable future."

That's one priest's opinion. Here's another, the latest in the "Sunday Sermons from South St. Paul" series on The Remnant TV. In what surely must be one of the most courageous sermons of 2018, this diocesan priest (from a different diocese) takes the gloves off and asks: "What's it going to be? The constant teaching established by Scripture, doctors and fathers of the Church, sainted popes and God Himself? Or that which rests on the whim of Pope Francis, who seems to think the Catholic Church’s binding teaching is whatever his opinion happens to be." God help us, what is this man thinking, that in the middle of the most outrageous clerical sex scandal to date he decides it’s time to go after capital punishment.

PC police hound Christians for refusing to say Easter Bunny is real

You couldn't make this stuff up. A Christian couple from Hamilton ON had to go all the way to the province's Superior Court to be allowed to continue acting as foster parents. Why? Because the Children's Aid Society took away the girls they were fostering because the pair refused to tell the children that the Easter Bunny is real!

The court was told that CAS support worker Tracey Lindsay had visited Frances and Derek Baar to see how the girls, aged 3 and 5, were getting along. Although Ms Lindsay acknowledged that the girls looked well cared for in all respects, she was horrified to find that the Baars had neglected or (gasp) refused to teach the girls about the Easter Bunny! The Hamilton Children's Aid Society said it expected staff and foster parents to put aside their "personal beliefs and values" when caring for children who are coming from "different settings".

The Baars told Ms Lindsay they intended to hide chocolate eggs and have the girls find them on Easter and play other games, but didn't plan to speak to the children about the Easter Bunny, unless the girls specifically asked questions about the character. Describing themselves as a Christian couple with "strong religious faith", they argued that telling children in their care that the Easter Bunny is real was contrary to their religious beliefs.

In a rare win for common sense over political correctness -- and for Christian values over secular humanism -- Superior Court Judge A.J. Goodman agreed with the Baars. He found that the couple did try to have the children enjoy holidays such as Easter and Christmas. "There is sufficient evidence to assert that the Baars did, indeed, attempt to preserve the children's enjoyment of the holidays, even of they were not able, pursuant to their religious beliefs, to positively perpetuate the existence of the fictitious characters that are associated with those holidays," wrote the judge.

Mr Justice Goodman went on to say, "There is ample evidence to support the fact that the children were removed because the Baars refused to either tell or imply that the Easter Bunny was delivering chocolate to the Baars' home. I am more than satisfied that the society actions interfered substantially with the Baars' religious beliefs." Those beliefs, he concluded, include the couple's belief that it is wrong to lie.

Mr and Mrs Baar have been vindicated, but they will no longer be taking in foster children in Liberal Ontario. They have moved to Alberta, where political correctness is said to be somewhat less pervasive. We close with a small graphic reminder of the main point to this story.

Canada's loony left, pro-Muslim "public" school board

There are two publicly-funded education systems in the province of Ontario, Canada. (Well OK, there are four, if you count the French-language counterparts to the two main systems, which are anglophone -- English-speaking.) There are Catholic schools, which are not quite what the name implies, since, being taxpayer-funded, they are required to admit all comers, Catholic or not. And there are "public" schools, which are supposed to be non-religious, but in practice push the new, politically correct religion of secular humanism.

The biggest public school board in Ontario -- in Canada, in fact -- is the Toronto District School Board, which is responsible for Pauline Johnson Junior Public School, in Scarberia, the northeastern ghetto of the Great and Diverse City of Toronto (John Tory, Prop.) That the school is this month celebrating "Tamil Heritage Month" tells you something about the character of the community, and the politics of the TDSB.

Pauline Johnson School is attended by students from literally dozens of different ethnic backgrounds. The majority are not "old stock Canadians", to borrow the appellation of former Prime Minister Steven Harpoon. There is not only a great mixing of races, but a great mixing of religions -- the diversity which Mayor Tory, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and Prime Minister Justin "Mr Socks" Trudeau keep telling people makes Canada Strong. (Agent 3 says diversity certainly makes Toronto what it is. Whatever can he mean?) There are a few Christians, some Buddhists, some Hindus, some Sikhs and, inevitably, some Muslims.

One of the Muslim students is Khawlah Noman, who for the rest of her life is likely to be known as the "hijab hoax girl", following the unravelling yesterday of her story about having been attacked by a man who pulled back the hood of her parka, so as to cut (with a scissors!) her hijab -- an Islamophobic, anti-Muslim hate crime if ever there was one! Except there wasn't one. It was all a product of Miss Noman's vivid imagination.

OK, so the kid made the whole thing up. Some kind of plea for help, perhaps. Let it go at that. But the Toronto District School Board did not let it go at that. Today, questions are being asked about why, less than four hours after the initial police report, the TDSB organized a presser -- "press availability" is what they call it nowadays -- to let the tearful 11-year-old face television cameras and throngs of reporters who broadcast her horrific (and unlikely) story to the world?

In the photo we see Miss Noman, her mother, and her 10-year-old brother, who supposedly witnessed the attack. The concerned and caring lady comforting the girl is (((Shari Schwartz-Maltz))), TDSB Manager for Media Relations and Issues Management, who (a source tells WWW) set up the exercise in virtue-signalling. Even if the attack had happened, the appearance would have been unusual, as victims of crime who are minors are traditionally not identified by police or the media, let alone put before cameras to recite a rehearsed narrative and weep on cue.

(((Ms Schwartz-Maltz))) is no stranger to the pages of WWW. She is referred to in "Muslim prayers in Toronto schools: a Muslim viewpoint", WWW 7/7/11, defending a decision of the TDSB to set aside prayer rooms in its schools so the little Muslim kids can say their Friday prayers, while being taught about Islam and the virtues of Islamic society. This was before ISIS, so rumours that ISIS recruiting literature was passed out were likely untrue. It would have been Al-Qaeda, not ISIS.

That the Toronto District School Board is friendly to the so-called Religion of Peace is an undertatement. But hey, that's nothing more than compliance with the policy of the Ontario government (K. Wynne, Prop.) See "Islamization of Ontario schools still part of government agenda", WWW 15/4/12.

But it's not just Muslims that the TDSB likes. They're great believers in affirmative action, human rights (for some humans, at least), social justice and BLM. In a show of politically correctness, surprising even for Ontario, the Board decided, back in 2009, to set up an "Africentric Alternative School" (read: segregated school). It opened in the northwest corner of Toronto "in an attempt to reduce dropout rates and improve an achievement gap among the city's black students. While the school is open to students of all backgrounds, many [note: "many", not "all"] of the teachers are black to serve as role models for students."

The Africentric School was to be a three-year experiment. (((Ms Schwartz-Maltz))) appears again in an article in the Toronto Red Star (from which the above quote was taken) to spin the 2012 report on the results -- three years after the report was published, kinda quietly. The report found that in 2012, only 43% of students who started at the AAS and had not reached graduate age were still enrolled, while 57% had transferred to another school.

The report also identified "differences" between the original idea of the school "and the existing frameworks the school operates within," as well as funding challenges that are a "limiting factor to the school's success." (((Ms Schwartz-Maltz))) called it "a work in progress". Walt has been unable to discover whether any further progress has been made in the 2+ years since, or, indeed, whether the Africentric School is still in existence.

Speaking of affirmative action... a name that has been conveniently forgotten by proponents of the TDSB's liberal agenda is that of Chris Spence, who was the Director of the Toronto District School Board at the time of the Africentric School experiment. Dr Spence, as he then was, should have been a role model extraordinaire for the city's black yoof, being head of the biggest school board in Canada and a credit his race, yada yada yada. Unfortunately, he was obliged to resign, at the end of 2012, over allegations that his Ph.D. thesis was rife with "unattributed passages", plagiarized (copied) from other sources. When last heard from, Mr Spence was fighting for compensation for "constructive dismissal". He has not complained to the Ontario Human Rights Commission about systemic racism.

Speaking of race and black yoof, the latest politically correct folly of the TDSB is the cancellation, last November, of the "School Resource Officer" programme run for it by the Toronto Police Service. The programme placed uniformed police officers in dozens of mainly minority-majority public schools across Toronto. While SRO is SOP in many inner city schools in the USA, it was a first for Canada when introduced in 2008, a year after Grade 9 student Jordan Manners, age 15, was shot and killed at C.W. Jefferys Collegiate, one of Toronto's blackest schools.

Ever since, the SRO programme has drawn sharp criticism from activist groups such as Black Lives Matter Toronto, which made very vocal demands to scrap it as one measure to address "anti-black racism" in the education system. The Board trustees voted 18-3 in favour of cancelling the programme, after a report by staff recommended eliminating the program because "it caused some students to feel uncomfortable and even intimidated." That was in November. Last week the neighbouring Peel District School Board received a report showing that students benefit from the SRO programme in its schools. Go figure.

Every now and then militant secular humanists and anti-Catholic bigots call for the end of public funding for Ontario's Roman Catholic schools. As long as policies like those of the Toronto District School Board -- we haven't even talked about the new pro-LGBT sex ed curriculum yet -- are causing parents by the 1000s to enroll their non-Catholic children in the Catholic system, Catholic schools are in no danger of being defunded. There should be a lesson there for the public school boards, but will they learn it? Two chances: slim and none.

Here come da judge!

Three cheers and a tiger for Judge Roy Moore!!! To no-one's surprise (except perhaps the Republican establishment), the firebrand former chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court soundly defeated Senator Luther Strange in a special primary runoff yesterday.

Since Alabama is about as solidly Republican as it's possible to be, Judge Moore's election to the United States Senate in December is now just a formality.

The New York Times calls the outcome of the closely watched race "a humbling blow to President Trump and other party leaders days after the president pleaded with voters in the state to back Mr. Strange." It is not.

To be sure, Judge Moore was opposed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other Republican grandees who have opposed and obstructed President Trump. What was strange (pun intended) was Mr Trump's endorsement of Senator Strange. It's never easy to read the President's mind, but I think we can put this down to loyalty. During his short term in the upper house of Congress, Senator Strange was a strong supporter of the President, voting the right way as and when required. The President's endorsement recognized that.

But... a couple of days ago President Trump uttered an aside -- almost a throw-away line -- to the effect that his endorsement of Judge Moore might have been a mistake. I don't think it was. I think (and I am waiting for Scott Adams to say something similar) that Mr Trump gave Senator Strange his stamp of approval knowing that doing so would: a) placate the Republican establishment and show himself to be a team player, b) confuse the progressives and snowflakes who can't imagine voting for anyone that Mr Trump likes, and c) fire up the populists and hard right (Hello, Steve Bannon!) and make them work even harder to get Judge Moore elected. Which is exactly what happened!

To me, the selection of Judge Roy Moore bodes well for the future of the USA since it shows that voters are not as concerned as the liberals, SJWs and lamestream media... not to mention the United States Supreme Court... about the separation of church and state. Judge Moore stood up for Christian values -- the values on which America was founded -- on issues such as "gay marriage". In 2014, in an interview with AP, he declared, "The moral foundation of our country is under attack," and that the "government has become oppressive, and judges are warping the law."

Judge Moore is also famous for his refusal to remove from his courtroom a plaque showing the Ten Commandments. (The statue shown in the picture came later.) He told the Montgomery Advertiser that his intention in hanging the plaque was to indicate the importance of the laws given by God to man. It was not his intention to create controversy, he said, but "I wanted to establish the moral foundation of our law."

What is law but the expression of a set of principles and beliefs? Certain things are right; certain things are wrong. The question to be answered is which set of principles and beliefs should have the force of law in our society.

Do you want to live your life according to the customs and practices of Islam? Then you have no problem with Sharia law (but see "Sharia Law: Saudi king pardons gang-rape victim", WWW 26/9/17). Do you think the code of laws which govern our daily behaviour should have no reference to any religious creed? What you want then, is a legal code based on secular humanism, which is just as much a religion (belief system) for the liberals and progressives as Islam is for the Muslims or Christianity for traditional Catholics and evangelical Protestants.

Judge Moore stands for and stands up for the old-time religion, the Christian values on which the USA was founded, which, if restored to their rightful place in its courts and legislatures can indeed Make America Great Again. God bless him!

VIDEO: Dogs going to church... or vice versa? Francis vs Trump

Pope Francis doesn't like Donald Trump. Could it be because the President gets more media attention than Francis the Humble? Noooo. It's because the President of the Excited States of America poses a hyuge threat to the plans of the Pope and George Soros to impose a New World Order of the humanity in general and the Roman Catholic Church in particular.

The Unholy Father has no wish to see the values of Christianity and freedom triumph. Forget about religion and democracy. Francis' vision is of a world run on the "principles" of socialism and secular humanism.

Keep this in mind as you read "Pope Francis attacks conservative Catholics - and Trump?", an article by John Moody, which appeared on the Fox News website today. John Moody is Executive Vice President and Executive Editor of Fox News. A former Rome bureau chief for Time magazine, he is the author of four books including Pope John Paul II: Biography. Walt is taking the liberty of reposting the entire piece.

Someone brought a dog to mass at my parish this weekend. It lay smack in the middle of the main aisle, forcing parishioners to edge around it. No one said anything, but the symbolism was not lost on some in attendance: dogs may be going to church, but the universal Roman Catholic Church is going to the dogs.

Under Pope Francis, the church has abandoned many of its bedrock positions on issues like divorce and homosexuality in favor of a “why not?” attitude. Francis has scolded people for being rich, sided with illegal immigrants, and suggested the church should be a refuge for the poor.

He has sidelined conservative cardinals, installed like-minded allies in key jobs, taken personal control of the Knights of Malta for defying him, and generally sent the signal that behind his amiable smile and humble talk lurks a radically liberal agenda.

The latest example of the pope’s blueprint for the future is contained in an article penned by two of his closest confidantes. They believe that conservative Catholics in the United States have formed a coalition with Evangelical Protestants to push Donald Trump’s agenda, which the authors call a "Manichean vision". The article, in the Jesuit publication La Civiltà Cattolica, could not have been printed without Francis' knowledge and approval.

"This pope does not like the culture war," says Robert Royal, president of the Faith and Reason Institute and a commentator on the Catholic network EWTN. "The real tragedy is they’re trying to discredit some types of religious action in the public square, while they are very active in advocating for the environment, immigrants and stopping human trafficking."

Francis can run the church any way he wants. But demonizing conservative American Catholics is a risky business. They have deep pockets and long memories.

It is, in the end, a dog eat dog world – and church.

UPDATED: Obama and Trudeau tell UN "Let's all be nice to each other"

Not all of Walt's readers pay a lot of attention to the intersection of American politics and Canadian politics. But you have to be have your anti-liberal blinkers firmly in place to not see the fine bromance that has developed between the Prez and Canada's ultra-photogenic new(ish) Prime Minister Justin "Selfie" Trudeau.

Sadly for their countries, the two amigos share not just a love of the adoration of the masses, but liberal, one-world views on globalization, free trade, refugees and immigrants (especially Muslims), and the war on The Enemy Which Cannot Be Named (especially Muslims). Now that President Obama is the lamest duck of all, Justin ("Himself Redux") is bidding fair to become the leader of the forces of liberalism, secular humanism and the war for "social justice". To him, from President 0's failing hands, the torch of progressivism is about to be thrown. (The Prez's preferred recipient, Hellery Clinton, is, alas, not guaranteed to be well enough to lift her arms high enough to make the catch.)

Messrs Obama and Trudeau were in the Big Apple this week to case a few pearls before the swine at the Disunited Nations. Some have suggested that Ahmed Khan Rahami was out to get the Prez when he planted his little bomb in Chelsea. (Shoulda used a GPS, Ahmed!) If he had, the assembled parasites would have been spared a speech in which POTUS actually admitted that his country was going to have to give up its "freedom of action" and "bind itself to international rules". If you think Walt is making this up, click here. Don't say you weren't warned.

Here's part of what Ted Cruz had to say about Mr Obama's suggestion that the US surrender to the Islamists. "At the United Nations today, President Obama took to the podium to once again blame the United States for the woes of the world. He suggested our country is just one of many that need to get beyond the old divisions of nationality. He chided those who would limit the inflow of refugees from nations infiltrated by Islamic terrorists as ignorant bigots, predicted climate change would destroy countries and cause mass conflicts, and referred to Israel as an occupying power. Mr. Obama would have done much better to use this opportunity to advance an American agenda, not a global one."

Mr Obama's speech was a pretty hard act to follow -- or swallow -- but M Trudeau tried out his "sunny ways" shtick on a half-empty General Assembly. In an article headlined "Mission accomplished: Trudeau wins over UN with strange speech full of liberal platitudes", John Ivison writes: "The lesson from both Obama and Trudeau is that if everyone just did more nice things, and not so many awful things, things would be much nicer." That's all ye know and all ye need to know.

6 ways Pope Francis promotes political liberalism

The following is excerpted from "The Undertaker Pope: A Brief Study of an Infallibly Politically Correct Pontificate", an article by Christopher A. Ferrara, featured in The Remnant Newspaper.

In the fourth year of his pontificate, Pope Francis continues to deliver regular payloads of explosive off-the-cuff remarks that delight the media and shock the Catholic faithful....

For Francis, "magisterium" and "what I think" are one and the same thing. What Francis thinks -- and speaks incessantly -- generally serves the ends of political liberalism and state power while confirming the Church’s post-Vatican II demotion to a mere religious constituency under the secular sovereign. Witness, for example:

· Francis’s warm relations with socialist dictators;

· his lauding of pro-abortion and pro-“gay” politicians;

· his abuse of the papal office as a platform for globalist environmentalism (thus advantaging the same transnational corporations he professes to deplore);

· his refusal to intervene in opposition to the legalization of “gay marriage” because “the Pope belongs to everybody, he cannot enter the concrete, domestic politics of a country. This is not the Pope's role”;

· his demand -- flatly contradicting his professed abstention from domestic politics -- for universal abolition of the death penalty (while declining to demand the abolition of abortion), open borders in Europe and America, and policies of environmental regulation and wealth redistribution;

· his conspicuous failure to identify government policy, particularly in socialist countries, as a primary cause of the poverty he attributes entirely to the greed of the wealthy.

Not even during a post-conciliar epoch marked by the generalized surrender of churchmen to the zeitgeist have we seen a Pope willing to serve as the veritable pontifical undertaker at the funeral of the Church Militant, glibly reciting a few last words at the graveside in superficial remarks to reporters that he insists are "magisterium".... How is it possible that a conclave could have placed such a spectacularly unsuitable man on the Chair of Peter?...

I propose no answer to the question. Only history will provide the answer. Meanwhile, however, one can only wonder whether the unprecedented circumstances surrounding the elevation of Cardinal Bergoglio to the papacy are in some mysterious way related to the unexampled recklessness of his reign, so pleasing to the world that sings his praises.

Islamization of UK complete, England to disestablish Anglican Church?

Here's a news flash from Old Blighty! Walt's man on the Clapham omnibus [Seems to be a legal joke. Ed.] has sent us this article from today's Telegraph:
"Britain is no longer a Christian country and should stop acting as if it is, says judge"

It's not really news, izzit. Everyone knows that only a small minority of Brits who call themselves Anglicans actually go to church except for "hatched, matched and dispatched" occasions -- baptisms, weddings and funerals -- and even those rituals are being skipped by Gen Y and the Millennials.

Are there any religious people left in England? Sure. Plenty of them. Evangelical Protestants, Catholics, some Jews, and... wait for it... hundreds of thousands of followers of the Prophet Mohammed. Yes, Islam is the fastest-growing religion in England, so a two-year commission into the place of religion in British society has called for public life to be systematically de-Christianized to reflect the reality of modern Britain.

The Commission on Religion and Belief in Public Life, chaired by the former senior judge Baroness Butler-Sloss and involving leading religious leaders, has discovered that secular humanism is the prevailing "belief system" in Britain. It says that the decline of churchgoing and the rise of Islam and other faiths mean a "new settlement" for religion is needed in the UK, giving more official influence to non-religious voices and those of non-Christian faiths.

The Telegraph says that the report has provoked a furious row, being condemned by Cabinet ministers as "seriously misguided". The Church of England -- "The official church of Cool Britannia" -- said the commission appeared to have been "hijacked" by humanists. That is wrong. It's not the commission that has been hijacked, but the C of E itself!

The report has several controversial things to say, including a claim that faith schools are "socially divisive". So that will probably mean the end of Anglican and Catholic schools, and says that the selection of children on the basis of their beliefs should be phased out. It also accuses those who devise some "Religious Education" syllabi of "sanitizing" negative aspects of religion in lessons. And, it suggests, the compulsory daily act of worship in school assemblies should be abolished and replaced with a "time for reflection".

The report backs moves to cut the number of Church of England bishops in the House of Lords and give their places to imams, rabbis and other other non-Christian clerics as well as evangelical pastors.

As if that weren't enough, the Commission also calls for a rethink of anti-terror policy, including (get this!) ensuring students can voice radical views on campus without fear of being reported to the security services. Yessir, freedom of speech is a great thing, especially when it protects hate speech. Right? Oh... only for non-Christians, you say. Got it. Welcome to the new, diverse, multicultural, not-so-Great Britain.

Why the Middle East hates the West - Part II

In Part I (above), Walt gave you the Reader's Digest version of how American (and British) support for the despotic regime of Mohammed Reza Shah Pahlavi contributed to his overthrow in 1979 and the establishment in Iran of a true and fanatical theocracy led by Ayatollah Khomeini.

A theocracy  is a form of government in which clergy have official recognition as civil ruler and official policy is either governed by officials regarded as divinely guided, or is pursuant to the doctrine of a particular religion or religious group. That's bad, right? 

Well, that's official US policy. A state or people should not be ruled by people with religious principles! In America, church and state are separate. America's rulers are decidedly irreligious. The principles that govern "the land of the free" are the "principles" of secular humanism, which has become the de facto state religion. 

But let's return to the Middle East. The Shah of Iran was not the only despot supported by the USA. During the Cold War, any dictator who professed to be against the Commies was, ipso facto [That's enough Latin. Ed.], America's friend. By means of foreign aid, military support and the occasional coup (as in Iran), America propped up Chiang Kai-shek, Syngman Rhee, Fulgencio Batista, Ferdinand Marcos, [That's enough dictators. Ed.]

However, the USA had never actually resorted to war to maintain in power a corrupt and incompetent -- but pro-Western -- dictatorship until... wait for it... Vietnam.  Yes, Vietnam -- the longest war in American history, the only undeclared war, and the first war America lost since the War of 1812-14. 

Most people think of Vietnam as being LBJ's war or Nixon's war. In fact, it started on President Eisenhower's watch, in 1954. And it rested on Ike's theory that if the USA "lost" Vietnam, it would next lose Laos and Cambodia, then Thailand, and so on. But hold on (nobody cried). How can you lose something you never had in the first place?

Vietnam was (with Laos and Cambodia) part of French Indochina and the larger French empire. The battle of Dien Bien Phu showed France incapable of hanging onto her colonies. What to do? Let them have their independence? No, that would never do. They might decide to be neutral in the Cold War, or, worse, support the Other Side. So the USA began its first colonial war, fully justifying, in the minds of the rest of the Third World, the use of the phrase "American imperialism".

American imperialism is not just a slogan invented by the Communist propaganda machine. It has been a fact of geopolitics for six decades, and remains so today. Today, though, the "empire" which the USA is fighting to maintain is in the Middle East. It is the "empire of oil".

Can the imperial storm-troopers quell the rebellious Islamists of Iraq, Afghanistan, and Iran? Don't bet on it. (Lifetime pct .983) We'll look at what happened to an earlier empire in Part III, below.

Caritas International working with LGBT, abortion "rights" group

Thinking of giving money to the so-called Catholic charity Caritas International? If you're in favour of abortion, same-sex marriage, and the whole LGBT agenda, go right ahead. But if you think there's something outta whack about a "Catholic" charity helping to promote the sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance, read this.

Caritas International is not actually one charity, but a consortium of "Catholic" relief agencies. And now they've gotten into bed with the Brazil-based World Social Forum, an organization that stands for everything but the moral order to which we are called by our Christian Faith.

According to the American Life League's Investigative Report, World Social Forum supports and promotes legal abortion and homosexuality, and is heavily influenced by Marxism. In its report, ALL provides numerous examples of the group’s references to work for "reproductive rights" and "decriminalized abortion". The group’s literature also has shown support for the campaign to promote "gender identity and sexual diversity". Events sponsored by the World Social Forum have featured displays in which images of pregnant women hang on crosses, identified as "victims of fundamentalism" in a clear reference to Christian prohibitions on abortion.

Caritas International is not alone in supporting the World Social Forum’s events. Catholic Relief Services, the international relief agency supported by the United States Conference of "Catholic" Bishops, has also joined in its secular humanist initiatives. Shame on these so-called "Catholic" agencies. May a just God give them the reward they richly deserve.

Canada to lecture ROTW on religious freedom (especially for the non-religious)

In a bout of holier-than-thou hypocrisy rare even for him, Canadian Prime Minister "Call me Steve" Harper yesterday announced the establishment of Canada's brand new, ultra-PC Office of Religious Freedom.

With a staff of five and a budget of C$5,000,000 -- that would be about a million per head -- the ORF is about "building awareness about the issue of religious freedom abroad," according to its head, Dr. Andrew Bennett. And not just abroad! "It's [also] about interacting with the various communities here in Canada who are in the diaspora from these areas where religious freedom is not respected."

And who might they be? Well, errr, Muslims for example. And Tibetan Buddhists. And Sikhs. And did we mention Muslims? Immigrants (legal and illegal), refugees and asylum-seekers -- all potential voters. (If you think illegal immigrants don't get to vote in Canada, Walt has some land in Nunavut he'd like to talk to you about.)

Nothing was said about protecting the freedom of Canadian Christians to preach and practise their religion, free from government interference (as in the so-called Catholic schools) and attacks by secular humanists (in the lamestream media, particularly the CBC).

But noooo, says Mr. Harpoon. "This is not an office to promote any particular religion. It is an office to promote religious diversity and religious tolerance around the world." Ah yes. Diversity and tolerance.

And pluralism. Don't forget "pluralism", another PC buzzword of the day. "People who choose not to believe, that's a valid religious and democratic perspective that we all must also accept and promote," said the PM. "We're not trying to oppose, we're trying to respect people's own religions, their own faith choices, or non-faith choices, and not impose those choices on others. Just as it is important that religion be respected in a pluralistic and democratic society by those who don't share religion, it is likewise expected in a very religious society that those who don't share faith will be respected." (Walt's italics.)

So you see, it's just another part of the Canadian Conservatives' initiative to Draw All Faiths Together (DAFT). Yes...ORF is DAFT. No doubt about it. But will Canadians tell Harper to bugger ORF? Not likely. (Lifetime pct .990)

"Don't confuse me! I'm a girl!" - the video

Ed. here. Walt wanted to get "Send your kids' school the 'traditional values letter'" posted before we quit tonight, so he made me hit the "publish" button before I could locate the famous "Don't confuse me! I'm a girl!" video, sponsored by the Institute for Canadian Values. Here it is.

Send your kids' school the "traditional values letter"

First the background. Hamilton ON dentist Dr. Steve Tourloukis is suing the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board for refusing to warn him when teachers plan to preach the Ontario government's sex education curriculum to his kids.

Dr. Tourloukis is a Greek Orthodox Christian and a believer in Christian family values as regards things like homosexuality, abortion, pre-marital and extra-marital sex, and so on. He's against those things, at least for himself and his family, and he doesn't want them being shoved down the throats of his children, who are in Grades 1 and 4 in Ontario's so-called public school system.

The school board, which takes its direction from the Kremlin [Ontario government, surely! Ed.] says respect for alternative lifestyles, yadda yadda yadda, is a good thing and should be not just encouraged but actively promoted. Laurel Broten, the minister who succeeded a proud lesbian to the education portfolio in the Ontario government, says her government's humanistic approach -- based on a rejection of even the notion of a Supreme Being -- is here to stay.
"A little person can draw a picture of her two moms or two dads, for example, and feel safe and accepted. That’s what happens in classes across Ontario and that’s what should happen," she told a Toronto newspaper.

Dr. Tourloukis says if there's to be any teaching about family, marriage or human sexuality, he'll do it himself. Not surprisingly, 1000s of Catholic and evangelical Protestant parents agree. So, apparently, do numerous Muslim parents. Following reports of the lawsuit, schools across Ontario are starting to receive formal requests for notification when their children’s classes will discuss topics ranging from homosexuality and birth control to wizardry, evolution and "environmental worship", so they can withhold their child from classes that contradict their religious beliefs.

The letters have been modelled on a form being circulated by a group called P.E.A.C.E. Hamilton. P.E.A.C.E. stands for Public Education Advocates for Christian Equity. Click here to visit the P.E.A.C.E. website, and read about the true intent behind the new curriculum, which is to "change the traditional norms and values of society, and change them for good". That's a quote from Ms Broten.

If you have children in the Ontario system, but feel the traditional norms and values of society are just fine the way they are, you should sent a letter along those lines -- let's call it the Traditional Values Letter -- to "your" school board. (Hey, you elected them, didn't you?) Here is the model letter with some instructions on how to use it to communicate your beliefs.

If you have children in any other "public" school system, who are being threatened by the queer agenda -- see "Ontario schools forced to promote masturbation, homosexuality", WWW 4/3/10 -- please draw inspiration from Dr. Tourloukis and P.E.A.C.E. They will be only too happy if you adapt the Traditional Values Letter -- indeed, the entire campaign including a lawsuit if necessary -- to the situation in your province or state. And God will bless you for standing up for what is right according to His laws.
