Biden promises to undo all the good done by President Trump, NOW!

Weather forecast for January 21st: Massive shitstorms expected in Washington DC and US-Canadian prairies. Expected to last 100 days. Don't go out without your souwester, hip waders and inflatable dinghy.

Yes folks, massive disruptions are in store for the first 100 days of the Biden administration, as promised during the fake election campaign by Sleepy Joe hisself. Just yesterday -- Sundays are convenient for releasing bad news while Christians are sleeping -- the President-elect's handlers gave us a laundry list of all the things Joe will do by executive order to Make America Not-so-great Again.

For instance, the "bathroom laws" will be reinstated, to make sure that no queers, trannies or other perverts will be barred from "female restrooms" just because the sight of their naughty bits might make some real women (and little girls!) uncomfortable. Nosiree, not in Biden's America!

But wait (as Vince Offer used to say), there's more! Yes, Biden (and those pulling his strings) are intent on restoring the legacy of the Prez -- kind of like polishing a turd -- and destroying all that Trump hath wrought.

And to those detractors who deny that the Donald ever did anything notable, Walt says, read the list of his accomplishments published on Saturday on the Gateway Pundit website. (Thanks to Agent 35 for sending us the link.)

About a third of the way down that lengthy list, you'll read: "Approved the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines." Construction of these lines would allow more oil to be brought, cheaply and safely, from Canada to refineries in Texas.

1000s of jobs would be created and protected in both Canada and the US of A, and America would be helped along the road to energy security, with increased ability to source oil and gas from its friendly neighbour, rather than the Arabs.

You'd think Biden could see the sense of that, but noooo. If Trump did it, it must be bad! Yesterday Canadian Press reported that it had seen transition documents outlining the first actions to be taken by Mr Biden, once he is sworn in. One of them be to slam the door yet again on Canuckistan's politically fraught Keystone XL pipeline expansion. He will do this, the documents say, by "EO" [Executive Order] to be signed on Inauguration Day, or the day after at very latest.

The documents suggest that despite its best efforts, Canada has failed to convince the incoming administration of the virtues of importing fossil-fuel energy from a friendly ally and trading partner with similar climate change goals.

Some question the sincerity of Canadian Prime Minister Blackie McBlackface, who calls himself almost as great a friend of the environment as Greta Thunberg, while at the same time committing his alleged government (and Canadian taxpayers) to the building of the Trans-Mountain Pipeline, which will take oil from landlocked Alberta to the Pacific tidewater, thence to willing buyers in China.

Mr Socks can breathe a sigh of relief, then, that Sleepy Joe's Executive Kibosh will relieve him of the political necessity of fighting for both TMP and KXL. No wonder he's smiling!

Ever since May, when Biden first promised to kill KXL, Canadian officials have been advocating for a cross-border discussion on climate and energy that would make room for both building the project and reducing emissions at the same time. "Keystone XL fits within Canada’s climate plan," said the Canuck ambassador to the US [not Chrystia Freeland, surely?! Ed.], adding that it promises good union jobs in both countries "at a time when our economic recovery is a top priority."

While the Liberals in Ottawa dither, the Conservative government of Alberta is lawyering up for a fight.  Premier Jason Kenney renewed his call on the incoming administration "to show respect for Canada as the United States' most important trading partner and strategic ally." He said cancelling the project would kill jobs in both countries, weaken cross-border ties and "undermine US national security" by making the country more dependent than ever on oil imports from OPEC countries.

But hey, cancelling KXL is what the enviro-weenies and anti-oil, anti-business Lefties in the Democratic Party demanded of Sleepy Joe, so he can hardly break his promise now. Right? Who cares about the best interests of the USA (let alone Canada)? Let the will of Soros and the globalists be done!

VIDEO: Poetic justice for an eco-warrior

It has been some time since we presented our coveted Wally award, given to the few TV commercials which really tickled the old humerus. Fact is, there haven't been many truly funny commercials made since the Dempanic set in. All the advertisers are busy virtue-signalling. I think if I hear one more spokesthingy for one more Fortune 500 corporation tell us that they feel our pain and are standing by us in this difficult time, I'm going to scream.

I'm tired of being reminded that Covid-19 isn't funny. Life isn't funny. Nothing is funny, any more. So let's look back a couple of years, to the good old days when ad agencies could get away with making something like this commercial for the Kia Niro, "the new game-changing hybrid SUV designed for versatility and fuel efficiency." [Send cheque by courier, please. I don't want it to get lost with all the vote-by-mail ballots. Ed.]

VIDEO: George Carlin: Stop worrying about everything!

Although this very timely video just surfaced on YouTube a month ago, it was actually recorded well over a decade ago. Mr Carlin died on 22 June 2008. RIP. One can only imagine what he would have had to say about today's Dempanic! But we don't have to imagine. Just listen up at around the 6:30 mark.

God will take care of the earth and all that's in it and on it, in spite of what we do or don't do. Take care of yourself, especially your soul, gentle reader, and God will take care of the rest.

Greta Thunberg inspires parents of teen to take action!

After our daughter, aged 15, was moved to tears by the speech of Greta Thunberg at the UN the other day, she became angry with our generation "who have been doing nothing for 30 years." So we decided to help her prevent what Saint Greta warned of -- "massive eradication and the disappearance of entire ecosystems." We are now committed to give our daughter a future again, by doing our part to help cool the planet four degrees.

From now on she will go to school on a bicycle, because driving her by car costs fuel, and fuel puts emissions into the atmosphere. Of course it will be winter soon and then she will want to go by bus, but only as long as it is a diesel bus. Somehow, that does not seem to be conducive to helping The Climate.

Of course, she is now asking for an electric bicycle, but we have shown her the devastation caused to the areas of the planet as a result of mining for the extraction of lithium and other minerals used to make batteries for electric bicycles, so she will be pedaling, or walking, which will not harm her or the planet. We used to cycle and walk to school too.

Since Saint Greta demanded "we need to get rid of our dependency on fossil fuels" and our daughter agreed with her, we have disconnected the heat vent in her room. The temperature is now dropping to twelve degrees in the evening, and will drop below freezing in the winter, we have promised to buy her an extra sweater, hat, tights, gloves and a blanket. For the same reason we have decided that from now on she will only take cold showers. She will wash her clothes by hand, with a wooden washboard, because the washing machine is simply a power consumer. And since the dryer uses natural gas, she will hang her clothes on the clothes line to dry.

Speaking of clothes, the ones that she currently has are all synthetic, made from petroleum. Therefore on Monday, we will bring all her designer clothing to the secondhand shop. We have found an eco store where the only clothing they sell is made from undyed and unbleached linen, wool and jute. Cotton is out of the question, as it comes from distant lands and pesticides are used for it. Very bad for the environment.It shouldn't matter that it looks good on her, or that she is going to be laughed at, dressing in colorless, bland clothes and without a wireless bra, but that's the price she has to pay for the benefit of The Climate.

We just saw on her Instagram that she's pretty angry with us. This was not our intention. From now on, at 7 PM we will turn off the WiFi and we will only switch it on again the next day after dinner for two hours. In this way we will save on electricity, so she will not be bothered by social-stress and will be totally isolated from the outside world. This way, she can concentrate solely on doing her homework. At eleven o'clock in the evening, we will pull the breaker to shut the power off to her room, so she knows that dark is really dark. That will save a lot of CO2.

She will no longer be participating in winter sports to ski lodges and resorts, nor will she be going on anymore vacations with us, because our vacation destinations are practically inaccessible by bicycle. Since our daughter fully agrees with Saint Greta that the CO2 emissions and footprints of her great-grandparents are to blame for "killing our planet", what all this simply means is that she also has to live like her great-grandparents, who never had a holiday, a car or even a bicycle.

And we haven't even mentioned about the carbon footprint of food yet. Zero CO2 footprint means no meat, no fish and no poultry, but also no meat substitutes that are based on soy. After all, that grows in farmers' fields, that use machinery to harvest the beans, trucks to transport to the processing plants, where more energy is used, then trucked to the packaging/canning plants, and trucked once again to the stores.

And there will be no imported food, because that has a negative ecological effect. And absolutely no chocolate from Africa, no coffee from South America and no tea from Asia. Only homegrown potatoes, vegetables and fruit that have been grown in local cold soil, because greenhouses run on boilers, piped in CO2 and artificial light. Apparently, these things are also bad for The Climate. We will teach her how to grow her own food.

Bread is still possible, but butter, milk, cheese and yogurt, cottage cheese and cream come from cows and they emit CO2. No more margarine and no oils will be used for the frying pan, because that fat is palm oil from plantations in Borneo where rain forests first grew. No ice cream in the summer. No soft drinks and no energy drinks, as the bubbles are CO2. She wanted to lose some pounds, well, this will help her achieve that goal too.

We will also ban all plastic, because it comes from chemical factories. Everything made of steel and aluminum must also be removed. Have you ever seen the amount of energy a blast furnace consumes or an aluminum smelter? Shockingly bad for The Climate! We will replace her 9600-coil, memory foam pillow-top mattress with a jute bag filled with straw, and a horsehair pillow.

Finally, she will no longer be using makeup, soap, shampoo, cream, lotion, conditioner, toothpaste and medication. In this way we will help her do her part to prevent mass extinction, water levels rising and the disappearance of entire ecosystems.

If she truly believes she wants to walk the talk of Saint Greta, she will no doubt gladly accept and happily embrace her new way of life!

Thanks and a tip of the undyed, all-wool toque to Agent 6.

Can we not talk about "climate change"? Elections Canada warning!

This is a complicated story but I'll try to give you a short and understandable version. Following a convention in Gatineau QC on Sunday, People's Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier reiterated his doubts as to whether the world is facing a "climate crisis", as claimed by Canuck Environment Minister Catherine "Climate Barbie" McKenna and the usual gang of sky-is-falling, Al-Gore-loving tree-huggers. "Mad Max" and the PPC take the position that climate change is not an emergency nor is it caused by humans.

For example, M Bernier says, CO2 is not "pollution". It is what comes out of the mouths of humans and other animals when they exhale. So what are we supposed to do, stop breathing? The PPC platform plank on "Global Warming and the Environment" is subtitled "Rejecting Alarmism and Focusing on Concrete Improvements". It reads, in part: "CO2 is beneficial for agriculture and there has recently been a measurable “greening” of the world in part thanks to higher levels. Despite what global warming propaganda claims, CO2 is not a pollutant. It is an essential ingredient for life on Earth and needed for plant growth."

"Given the uncertainties over the scientific basis of global warming," the platform continues, "and the certainties about the huge costs of measures designed to fight it, there is no compelling reason to jeopardize our prosperity with more government interventions." This statement puts the People's Party at odds with the liberal orthodoxy and with the positions of the other five parties contesting this fall's federal election. For that reason, Elections Canada has now declared that climate change is a partisan issue (!!!), which makes any argument or advertisement on the subject a "partisan statement" under the laws governing Canadian elections.

The Canada Elections Act could consider advertising partisan if it opposes or supports a policy position of any party or candidate, even without naming them. So any advertisement, whether by environmental activists or "climate change deniers", saying that climate change is real or not real is forbidden!

Environmental activist groups and the leftist parties (Liberals, NDP and Greens) vying to out-green each other are predictably outraged, calling the Elections Canada an attack on free speech (!!!) which muzzles them from speaking out about the "climate crisis". An anti-oil group calling itself "Clean Energy Canada" has already restricted some of its responses to party positions to avoid running afoul of the law, while Greenpeace Canada is planning to cease all advertising on climate change during the writ period.

You might think that the PPC would be happy to have a cone of silence dropped on what will be a major issue in the upcoming election, but you would be wrong. Freedom of speech is one of the basic principles on which the People's Party was founded, and Maxime Bernier issued a statement yesterday describing the Elections Canada warning as "absurd". "The law should only regulate real partisan advertising, which is when there is mention of a candidate or party by name," he said.

He went on to say that Elections Canada "is interpreting a bad law as best it can, but this rule is still absurd. Not because we're the only party with a different perspective which climate alarmists believe is not legitimate. But because it is arbitrary, draconian, and cannot be applied consistently. There are hundreds of potentially contentious issues that could be considered partisan if this rule were to be applied consistently."

Some people... OK, many people... may disagree with M Bernier's position on climate change, but Canucks should give him full credit for championing free speech. Pity that (as things stand) they won't get to hear him in the televised leaders' debates in October. See "Canada's 'independent' Debate Commission shuts out Max Bernier", WWW 12/8/19.

Why you should care about World Oceans Day

Walt is aware that WWW is hardly a clarion voice for environmentalism. But that doesn't mean we're unaware of the mess we humans [Speaking for yourself? Ed.] are making of the world in which we live. I speak not of "global warming" and CO2 emissions and so-called "climate change", about which I remain skeptical. What I am not skeptical about, because I see it everywhere, every day, is the pollution of our habitat by discarded garbage. Especially plastic.

In a recent episode of Family Guy, Brian and Stewie discover "Garbage Island", a huge floating mass of debris so solid that castaways have been able to live there, quite comfortably, amidst the filth and debris. It looked something like this.

That there actually are islands of garbage, approaching the size of small continents, floating in our oceans is old news. But is anyone doing anything about it? The answer is yes! At least, some folks are trying. Amy Taylor sent us an e-mail reminder that June 8th was World Oceans Day. Hoping that I'd post something on that date -- sorry! -- she sent along info on SLOactive, a "social enterprise" [??? Ed.] dedicated to cleaning up our oceans.

SLOactive recently published a guide, titled Plastic Pollution: Single Use Plastic Impact on our Oceans, which I recommend to all WWW readers concerned about putting a stop to the excessive use of plastics. It details the facts and figures of plastic pollution, the impact on our oceans and marine life, and much more. Click here to get the PDF and find out more.

To answer the question posed by the headline... you should care because some of that plastic garbage may be yours!

Do I have your attention yet? Browsing the SLOactive website, I notice they also have a line of "sustainable swimwear and wetsuits". Need I say more? Tell `em Walt sent you!

Environmentalist writer shocked to find his book wrapped in plastic

We live in a world covered in plastic. Plastic packaging, shrink-wrap, containers, even our garbage dumps -- all smothered in plastic. Walt has considerable sympathy with the environmentalists and eco-wienies who say this has got to stop. One such is British writer Martin Dorey, author of No. More. Plastic.: What You Can Do to Make a Difference – the #2minutesolution (Penguin, 2018).

In 2009, Mr Dorey launched the "2 Minute Beach Clean campaign" to encourage people to pick up marine litter. He also maintains the No More Plastic website, encouraging people to find ways to use less plastic. On the landing page we read, "We call on our favorite brands to find innovative alternatives." Who could argue with that?

Well... the US distributors of No. More. Plastic. seem to have a problem with that statement. According to a recent report in The Telegraph, Mr Dorey was not just dismayed but furious to find that his book is being sold in the Excited States of America nicely wrapped in shrink-wrap!

In an Instagram post, Mr Dorey called the distributor's decision an "absolute shambles", adding, "It undoes all our hard work and proves once again that we are using plastic with our eyes closed. We toiled hard on this. We worked with the printer to make it one of the most environmentally friendly books this year. And then this!"

Mr Dorey told The Telegraph, "I know my publishers are working hard to stop this in future but it still happens further down the line. It makes me very sad indeed that we are so clever, but so stupid." The publishing house, Penguin, said "We hope this image makes people stop and think as we head into a busy Christmas period." They promised to contact the US distributors to get them to stop using the plastic covering.

The final word goes to Mr Dorey. "The point is that this book is about no more plastic and some idiot shrink-wrapped it in plastic without thinking. We're sleep-walking into oblivion with plastic and we need to change everything from the bottom up. We need to understand that this is not good enough."

6 ways Pope Francis promotes political liberalism

The following is excerpted from "The Undertaker Pope: A Brief Study of an Infallibly Politically Correct Pontificate", an article by Christopher A. Ferrara, featured in The Remnant Newspaper.

In the fourth year of his pontificate, Pope Francis continues to deliver regular payloads of explosive off-the-cuff remarks that delight the media and shock the Catholic faithful....

For Francis, "magisterium" and "what I think" are one and the same thing. What Francis thinks -- and speaks incessantly -- generally serves the ends of political liberalism and state power while confirming the Church’s post-Vatican II demotion to a mere religious constituency under the secular sovereign. Witness, for example:

· Francis’s warm relations with socialist dictators;

· his lauding of pro-abortion and pro-“gay” politicians;

· his abuse of the papal office as a platform for globalist environmentalism (thus advantaging the same transnational corporations he professes to deplore);

· his refusal to intervene in opposition to the legalization of “gay marriage” because “the Pope belongs to everybody, he cannot enter the concrete, domestic politics of a country. This is not the Pope's role”;

· his demand -- flatly contradicting his professed abstention from domestic politics -- for universal abolition of the death penalty (while declining to demand the abolition of abortion), open borders in Europe and America, and policies of environmental regulation and wealth redistribution;

· his conspicuous failure to identify government policy, particularly in socialist countries, as a primary cause of the poverty he attributes entirely to the greed of the wealthy.

Not even during a post-conciliar epoch marked by the generalized surrender of churchmen to the zeitgeist have we seen a Pope willing to serve as the veritable pontifical undertaker at the funeral of the Church Militant, glibly reciting a few last words at the graveside in superficial remarks to reporters that he insists are "magisterium".... How is it possible that a conclave could have placed such a spectacularly unsuitable man on the Chair of Peter?...

I propose no answer to the question. Only history will provide the answer. Meanwhile, however, one can only wonder whether the unprecedented circumstances surrounding the elevation of Cardinal Bergoglio to the papacy are in some mysterious way related to the unexampled recklessness of his reign, so pleasing to the world that sings his praises.
