VIDEO: "Climate change": the TRUE story of the greenscam HOAX

Here it is, folks, the film that lifts the lid on the climate alarm, and the dark forces behind the "climate consensus". Watch this (running time 1:19:53) and learn how an eccentric environmental scare grew into a powerful global industry.

Spoiler aleret: There is no consensus. The science of climate is not settled. There are lots of skeptics who are now being labelled as "deniers".

In this powerful video Written and directed by Martin Durkin. Produced by Tom Nelson, these eminent scientists debunk the hoax that is being perpetrated by the liberal "progressive" elites and their lickspittle media each and every day.

Trivia: The music at about 9 minutes (where the dynosaurs appear!) is from Modest Mussorgsky's "Night on the Bare Mountain".

Thanks once again to Agent 6 for passing this along.

Before you succumb to the "global warming/climate change" hysteria...

...consider this meteorological history.* The world (or at least England's "green and sceptred isle") was warmer 1000 years ago than it it today...by a lot!

Archaeological evidence indicates that the years 950 to 1300 were marked by noticeably warmer temperatures than we experience today, even in the age of "global warming". Meteorologists describe this medieval warm epoch as the "Little Optimum", and they cite it as the explanation of such phenomena as the Viking explosion into Russia, France, Iceland, and the northwestern Atlantic.

The northerly retreat of icebergs and pack ice under the impact of warmer temperatures is a plausible explanation of why Lief Eriksson was able to sail round the top of the Atlantic as far as Newfoundland in or about the year 1000, and why he found vines there. (He didn't name the are "Vinland" as a joke!)

During the "Little Optimum",  Edinburgh enjoyed the climate of London, while3 London enjoyed the climate of the Loire Valley in France, a difference of 2 to 4 degrees Fahrenheit -- the equivalent in modern American terms of San Francisco's climate moving north to Seattle.

Look out! Global COOLING is coming!

The late unlamented Climate Barbie, the no-longer-relevant Mark Carney, Saint Greta Thunberg and Al Gore [who he? Ed.] have been telling us for years now that the world is in imminent danger of burning to a crisp, if not today, then tomorrow.

They say that "global warming" is all the fault of us "peoplekind". If we'd only buy Teslas and use solar/wind power to heating/cool our houses and workspaces, ecological disaster could be averted (they say), if only for a little while. And we have to kill all our cattle, too, because their farts are a major part of the greenhouse gases which are trapping heat and setting off wildfires yada yada yada.

Où sont les neiges d'antan? I don't entirely dismiss the notion of climate change. I haven't suffered through many winters yet like that of 1963, shown in the picture. Of course I live farther south now. But my car and I are smaller now, so even if there's less snow, the effect is still the same.

For me, there's little difference between winters then and winters now. If the world warms up and there's less snow, that will be fine with me. But it might get colder again. Global warming and global cooling has been the cycle of nature ever since God created this planet Earth.

My corner of the forest was once covered in ice. Before that, it was under a vast inland sea. And before the sea, or maybe after (who knows?) there were tropical forests in which roamed prehistoric reptiles and mammals, just like in Jurassic Park.

I don't believe there's going to be any spectacular, catastropic climate change any time soon... if ever! Wildfires may be ranging in the west, but just yesterday I heard on the rangdidio that, here, this July is the coolest in ten years. [The wettest too! Ed.] So depending on where you live, in all kind of evens out. "Global warming" (or cooling) is a sweeping overgeneralization.

Who knows? The weather might well take a turn for the colder. We might once again see a return to "real old-fashioned winter", like that shown in this snap which I took in 1978.

That's not just my opinion, but that of climate scientist Dr. Willie Soon. According to Breitbart News, Dr Soon thinks we should pay closer attention to the sun's activity, which suggests several decades of global cooling rather than warming.

Dr Soon, a Malaysian astrophysicist and aerospace engineer, told Alex Newman of the New American, that "what we predict is that the next 20-30 years will be cold. It will be cold, so it will be a very interesting thing for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change [the United Nations body for assessing the science related to climate change] to confront.

"The sun is in a 'weakened state'," says the good doctor "and far less active than during the 1980s and 1990s." This weakened state, he said, should last "until around 2050. The whole climate system is powered 99.1 percent by the sun’s energy."

Therefore, Dr Soon concludes, global cooling is a far greater source of concern than global warming. "We will have a lot more problems were the planet to cool rather than warm." Humanity [not "peoplekind"? Ed.] can solve a lot of problems including overheating, but the problems of a "little ice age" like that of the 1700s are much harder to solve," he said. "If you want to face a serious problem, worry about an ice age; never worry about global warming!"

"Climate Barbie" quits to make room for Klima Ken

So, farewell then, Catherine McKenna, aka "Climate Barbie". You were one of Just In Trudeau's first diversity hires. To signal his virtue as a feminist by having as many women as men in his cabinet, Mr Socks appointed her in 2015 as Minister of the Environment.

Ms McKenna led the fight against global warming and, after the name change, climate change. She oversaw the introduction of the Canadian government’s "carbon pricing plan" (read: carbon tax), which was so appreciated by overtaxed Canucks that she was in danger of losing her Ottawa Centre seat in the 2019 election. During the campaign some unappreciative individual -- a right-wing white misogynist, no doubt -- had the gall to paint a graffito on the window of her Ottawa riding office.

I believe the miscreant meant to write "count", but made a spelling mistake. Obviously a product of Ontario education. No matter. Ottawa is a civil service town, and ya vote for the one who signs your paycheque, so Climate Barbie held onto her seat. However, in the ensuring cabinet shuffle, Blackie McBlackface promoted her downwards to the post of Infrastructure Minister -- a position in which she could be seen but, mercifully, seldom heard.

And now she is gone, or will be as of tomorrow. According to Canadian Press, Ms. McKenna wants to spend more time with her three children and "devote her professional energies to the fight against climate change." Wonder if Greta Thunberg knows about this?

Ms McKenna's departure opens the Ottawa Centre seat for Mark Carney, a former Governor of the Bank of Canada, who left the Great No-longer-white North some years ago to head up the Bank of England. Having proved to them that "Canadian competence" is an oxymoron, Mr Carney returned a few months ago and made a very public pronouncement of fealty to the Liberal Party of Canada at its policy snorefest last April.

Mr Carney didn't actually say he wanted to run. Oh my, no! According to M Trudeau, his appearance at the policy convention was simply a matter of Liberals tapping his expertise on economic policy and on climate change. "We're very pleased," he said, "to have someone of the stature of Mark Carney who has been working very, very hard on, among other things, the intersection between the global economy and the fight against climate change."

While he waits, Mark Carney is warming a chair (and drawing a considerable emolument) as... wait for it... United Nations Special Envoy on Climate Action and Finance. Note the order: "climate action" first, "finance" second.

Make no mistake. Mr Carney -- let's call him "Klima Ken" -- is another leftist climate zealot. He is more dangerous than Climate Barbie or her erstwhile boss because he actually has a good education and more than a handful of smarts. He know exactly how to manage a technocracy that will further erode the rights and liberties of the people, all in the name of saving the Earth.

Will the Canadian sheeple recognize the danger and see to it that the Trudeau Liberals are turfed out in the general election expected this fall? If they do, it won't matter if Mr Carney wins Ottawa Centre. In fact, he'll look almost as pretty as Climate Barbie on the other side of the aisle. And no-one will ever call him a "count".

New for the "winter holiday"! Greta on the shelf!

A fun new "Greta on the Shelf" doll will watch you every day and fly back to the UN each night to report your climate sins to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

The doll is equipped with eye sensors programmed to detect activities that are harmful to the environment. "Greta sees you when you're sleeping, she knows when you drive your SUV to the store instead of taking public transportation," the manufacturer said. "She knows if you've been bad or carbon-neutral, so be carbon-neutral for goodness' sake!"

One couple in Portland OR proudly displayed their new doll and lectured their children on the true meaning of Christmas: fighting climate change. "We're gonna play a fun game for the holidays this year! Try to be good little carbon-neutral children, or Greta will tell on you!"

"How dare you!" the doll chanted as the kids of the household left the door open while the heater was on. "You have stolen my dreams and my childhood." The doll then blasted off toward UN headquarters using its jet engines to report on the naughty children, who will receive coal in their stocking. They will be snitched on again, however, if they burn the coal for warmth.

Greta is programmed to detect activities including these:
* Leaving the light on when you exit a room
* Leaving the fridge open
* Driving an SUV
* Parents participating in illicit activities that may lead to the creation of more humans
* Using a plastic straw instead of sticking your face in a beverage and slurping
* Forgetting your reusable grocery bags at home
* Getting a cut-down Christmas tree
* Getting a carbon-heavy plastic Christmas tree
* Turning on any electric appliances
* Using the heater instead of rubbing two sticks together for warmth

Children have responded enthusiastically to the doll so far, saying things like, "Mommy, I'm scared," and "Make the bad girl go away."

Greta Thunberg inspires parents of teen to take action!

After our daughter, aged 15, was moved to tears by the speech of Greta Thunberg at the UN the other day, she became angry with our generation "who have been doing nothing for 30 years." So we decided to help her prevent what Saint Greta warned of -- "massive eradication and the disappearance of entire ecosystems." We are now committed to give our daughter a future again, by doing our part to help cool the planet four degrees.

From now on she will go to school on a bicycle, because driving her by car costs fuel, and fuel puts emissions into the atmosphere. Of course it will be winter soon and then she will want to go by bus, but only as long as it is a diesel bus. Somehow, that does not seem to be conducive to helping The Climate.

Of course, she is now asking for an electric bicycle, but we have shown her the devastation caused to the areas of the planet as a result of mining for the extraction of lithium and other minerals used to make batteries for electric bicycles, so she will be pedaling, or walking, which will not harm her or the planet. We used to cycle and walk to school too.

Since Saint Greta demanded "we need to get rid of our dependency on fossil fuels" and our daughter agreed with her, we have disconnected the heat vent in her room. The temperature is now dropping to twelve degrees in the evening, and will drop below freezing in the winter, we have promised to buy her an extra sweater, hat, tights, gloves and a blanket. For the same reason we have decided that from now on she will only take cold showers. She will wash her clothes by hand, with a wooden washboard, because the washing machine is simply a power consumer. And since the dryer uses natural gas, she will hang her clothes on the clothes line to dry.

Speaking of clothes, the ones that she currently has are all synthetic, made from petroleum. Therefore on Monday, we will bring all her designer clothing to the secondhand shop. We have found an eco store where the only clothing they sell is made from undyed and unbleached linen, wool and jute. Cotton is out of the question, as it comes from distant lands and pesticides are used for it. Very bad for the environment. It shouldn't matter that it looks good on her, or that she is going to be laughed at, dressing in colorless, bland clothes and without a wireless bra, but that's the price she has to pay for the benefit of The Climate.

We just saw on her Instagram that she's pretty angry with us. This was not our intention. From now on, at 7 PM we will turn off the WiFi and we will only switch it on again the next day after dinner for two hours. In this way we will save on electricity, so she will not be bothered by social-stress and will be totally isolated from the outside world. This way, she can concentrate solely on doing her homework. At eleven o'clock in the evening, we will pull the breaker to shut the power off to her room, so she knows that dark is really dark. That will save a lot of CO2.

She will no longer be participating in winter sports to ski lodges and resorts, nor will she be going on anymore vacations with us, because our vacation destinations are practically inaccessible by bicycle. Since our daughter fully agrees with Saint Greta that the CO2 emissions and footprints of her great-grandparents are to blame for "killing our planet", what all this simply means is that she also has to live like her great-grandparents, who never had a holiday, a car or even a bicycle.

And we haven't even mentioned about the carbon footprint of food yet. Zero CO2 footprint means no meat, no fish and no poultry, but also no meat substitutes that are based on soy. After all, that grows in farmers' fields, that use machinery to harvest the beans, trucks to transport to the processing plants, where more energy is used, then trucked to the packaging/canning plants, and trucked once again to the stores.

And there will be no imported food, because that has a negative ecological effect. And absolutely no chocolate from Africa, no coffee from South America and no tea from Asia. Only homegrown potatoes, vegetables and fruit that have been grown in local cold soil, because greenhouses run on boilers, piped in CO2 and artificial light. Apparently, these things are also bad for The Climate. We will teach her how to grow her own food.

Bread is still possible, but butter, milk, cheese and yogurt, cottage cheese and cream come from cows and they emit CO2. No more margarine and no oils will be used for the frying pan, because that fat is palm oil from plantations in Borneo where rain forests first grew. No ice cream in the summer. No soft drinks and no energy drinks, as the bubbles are CO2. She wanted to lose some pounds, well, this will help her achieve that goal too.

We will also ban all plastic, because it comes from chemical factories. Everything made of steel and aluminum must also be removed. Have you ever seen the amount of energy a blast furnace consumes or an aluminum smelter? Shockingly bad for The Climate! We will replace her 9600-coil, memory foam pillow-top mattress with a jute bag filled with straw, and a horsehair pillow.

Finally, she will no longer be using makeup, soap, shampoo, cream, lotion, conditioner, toothpaste and medication. In this way we will help her do her part to prevent mass extinction, water levels rising and the disappearance of entire ecosystems.

If she truly believes she wants to walk the talk of Saint Greta, she will no doubt gladly accept and happily embrace her new way of life!

Thanks and a tip of the undyed, all-wool toque to Agent 6.

Red Green on climate change: we're getting too comfortable

First it was "global warming". After a couple of unusually harsh winters, the Luddites, liberals and tree-huggers changed the the name of the game to "climate change". That way they were covered no matter whether the temperature went up or down. But ordinary people like Walt (and you, dear reader) remain unconvinced. So now it's been upgraded to a "CLIMATE EMERGENCY". So says the Liberal majority in Canada's House of Commons, in a vote taken in the last days of the current Parliament.

Last night the Canuck Minister of the Environment and Climate Change [sic] Catherine McKenna (aka "Climate Barbie") put forward a motion describing climate change as a "real and urgent crisis, driven by human activity." In their wisdom, the MPs noted how the "crisis" is impacting Canadians, and affirmed the need to pursue clean growth methods to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The House of Commons passed the motion declaring a national climate emergency, and supporting Canada’s commitment to meet the Paris Agreement emissions targets, by a vote of 186-63, with only Andrew Scheer's Conservatives mildly opposed.

"CLIMATE EMERGENCY! Lordy, lordy! The sky is falling! The sky is falling!" Walt doesn't believe it. Every day, when I log into Win10, Bill Gates shows me pictures from around the world of beautiful natural landscapes, untouched by fire, flood or other disasters attributable to "climate change". Here is a picture I took just a couple of weeks ago -- postcard quality, if I do say so myself -- of one such scene.

When Two Jack Lake dries up, or is covered in ice in July, or a bubbling brown pool of shit, then and only then can you talk to me about "climate emergency"!

On the same point, kind of... I just stumbled upon a short essay by my old buddy Steve Smith (aka Red Green), from Duct Tape Is Not Enough (Hatherleigh Press 2002). It's called "We're Getting Too Comfortable".

Every generation gets a little wimpier than the one before it. Our ancestors lived in wooden shacks without running water or electricity. We have central heat, central air, central vac...humidifiers, dehumidifiers, carbon filters, ozone detectors, smoke detectors, chest protectors, bomb deflectors and house inspectors.

We can push one button in our house and another in our car and as long as we have an attached garage, we will never leave an atmosphere of constant temperature, humidity, oxygen content, and clarity. It makes for an easy, comfortable life, but, over time, Mother Nature will devolve us to the point where we can't handle any change in our environment.

Sure it might be nice to never shiver or sweat -- but not if it means that every time you open the fridge or oven door, you have a massive cardiac infarction. So don't try so hard to make it so easy. Human beings survive a lot better when they have something to fight against.

FROZEN! What global warming looks like

One of Walt's agents sent along this nice photo of Niagara Falls -- the Canadian Falls part, actually -- where they've been having a real, old-fashioned winter. None of that global warming or climate change BS for the hardy folks who venture out to see the beauty of the falls, which, by the way, is not frozen. The falls are still falling, underneath the crusts of ice.

Tomorrow is Groundhog Day. In villages north and south of Niagara Falls, famous groundhogs will come out of their burrows -- voluntarily or otherwise -- to predict how much more of this global warming we'll have to endure. In Pennsylvania, Al Gore will explain to the media any cold signals given by Punxatawney Phil. In Ontario, Canuck Environment Minister "Climate Barbie" McKenna will interpret the actions of the new Wiarton Willie. The old one died last summer... of the heat, no doubt.

Leon DeWinter: Not the citizen but the small elite chooses

As promised, here is the English translation of the opinion piece by Leon DeWinter which appeared in the December 12th edition of the Dutch newspaper, De Telegraaf. Thanks to Agent 69 for sending this and providing the translation as well.

Throughout Europe, citizens look powerlessly at the decisions of ruling political‐cultural classes that deal with awe‐inspiring issues.

One such issue is mass migration. The welfare states, according to the elites, must open their borders to non‐Western migrants. The welfare state does not exist outside the Western Protestant nation states, or: its religious‐cultural identity is of crucial importance. Do immigrants with non‐Western religious cultures disturb the welfare state, which is an impressive function of the cultures of northern European peoples? Can the welfare state survive if it also needs to be an immigration state? The elites claim that this is possible ('Wir schaffen das') but refuse to mention the confusing consequences that disrupt mutual trust: chronic unemployment, high crime rates, religious backwardness.

And the energy problem? There are scientists who think differently about climate change than the elites, but moderates and skeptics have not been heard by parliament. They also do not speak in the media. And if that does happen, they are put away as 'deniers' ‐ in the sense of Holocaust deniers, so genocidal climate killers.

Since the beginning of parliamentary democracy in the nineteenth century, 'climate' has never been on the agenda of parliament and government. This subject is larger than any other subject, apart from war, and has only existed for two decades; the choices that our elites make as a result of this have enormous consequences for the energy supply, and thus for the foundations of our society.

Today, in The Hague and in Brussels, themes are so extensive that they transcend the field of politics. But the decision‐making process has remained the same. On the basis of a vote issued by the civilian population once every four years, a small elite claims the right to change our society existentially and forever. They do not want to realize that the gigantic extent of the problem is not in balance with that
one election vote.

Brussels has processes that are intentionally complex and largely invisible. The unification of Europe has been set up from the beginning as a 'top‐down' project: the elites lead their peoples to an ever closer form of living together, which ultimately leads to a real union led from a powerful center. For this, the nation states, and everything that belongs to them culturally, such as patriotism, nationalism, ethnic and religious identity, must be watered down. The people involved are not asked for approval while they are being rummaged into a union.

Just like migration, the so‐called energy transition shakes society to its foundations. Here the elites claim apocalyptic problems; if they really are so colossal, should citizens nevertheless express themselves through binding referendums on the need to adapt the fabric of society to the smallest fibers?

In the back rooms in the Hague, the unelected stakeholders discussed the energy transition. Many hundreds of billions have to finance the build‐up of geothermal energy, solar energy and wind turbines. Yield: in 2100 a heating reduction of 0.0003 Celsius (if the calculation models correctly predict the warming, which is still the question).

The elites have annexed and closed the major themes of our time for those who disagree with them ('racist', 'Islamophobic', 'sexist', 'fascist', 'Jew‐hater'). The so‐called 'populism' is a direct reaction to this. Just like the Yellow Hesjes. Just like Trump and the rise of the Alternative für Deutschland.

Most media behave like state propaganda organs as their journalists inhabit the same ideological and cultural cosmos as the political elites. Thus politicians, without being denounced by most media, can propose propaganda and censorship models in the Marrakesh Pact that until recently only occurred in tyrannies. They are counting on the powerful online companies to censor unwelcome messages. They do so eagerly because their directors also live in that cosmos.

Due to migration and energy adjustments, Western life patterns come under pressure, and many Europeans realize this, most of whom are reasonably satisfied with their current existence. Numerous middle groups, better educated and better informed by the Internet than any other generation in
human history, conclude that they are pawns in a transnational, globalistic chess game of intellectual and political upper layers, often organized in elusive NGOs, the shock troops of the left, who work with government subsidies and donations from just as elusive billionaires. The 'common man' should not curse but -- submissive and meat‐free and sugar‐free -- follow the visionary elites when they go to the diversity, gender, climate, migration and identity paradise.

I'm curious how long this goes on before the bomb really bursts.

Indeed. We are all waiting to see when the balloon goes up... and who goes with it!

Leon DeWinter: Niet de burger maar de kleine elite kiest

From across the pond, Agent 69 has sent us the op-ed section of the December 12th edition of the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf. Since blowing up the photo may not work for you, 69 has kindly copied the text of the excellent column by Leon DeWinter, which follows. He's also given us a translation into English, which I'll post next. Ed.

In heel Europa kijken burgers machteloos naar de besluiten van heersende politiekculturele klassen die zich bezighouden met ontzagwekkende issues.

Eén zo’n issue is massamigratie.

Dhr DeWinter is not alone. We are all waiting to see when the balloon goes up... and who goes with it!

Three doctor stories to brighten your Sunday

It's been an intense week here in Lake Woebegon. [Don't forget about the Copyright Act. Ed.] OK... It's been an intense week all over the world, what with global warming (Maybe there is something to that!), #MeToo (Helloo dere, Les Moonves!), and Islamic jihadists killing scores of people (mostly Muslims, to be sure) in the usual shitholes. And that's not even counting outbreaks of Trump Derangement Syndrome over some meeting in some Tower. One of Walt's assiduous (and sometimes acidulous) agents thinks we need a bit of humour to get us through Sunday, and has submitted the following stories, which for some reason all involve kindly family doctors.

A doctor was addressing a large audience in Saint Petersburg (God's waiting room). "The material we put into our stomachs is enough to have killed most of us sitting here, years ago. Red meat is awful. Soft drinks corrode your stomach lining. Chinese food is loaded with MSG. High fat diets can be disastrous, and none of us realizes the long-term harm caused by the germs in our drinking water.
"However, there is one thing that's the most dangerous of all, and we all have eaten, or will eat it. Can anyone here tell me what food it is that causes the most grief and suffering for years after eating it?"
After several seconds of quiet, a 75-year-old man in the front row raised his hand, and softly said, "Wedding cake."

The mother of a 17-year-old girl was concerned that her daughter was having sex. Worried the girl might become pregnant and lower the family’s in the community, she consulted the family doctor. The doctor told her that teenagers today were very willful and any attempt to stop the girl would probably result in rebellion. He then told her to arrange for her daughter to be put on birth control and until then, talk to her and give her a box of condoms.
Later that evening, as her daughter was preparing for a date, the mother told her about the situation and handed her a box of condoms. The girl burst out laughing and reached over to hug her mother, saying, "Oh Mom! You don't have to worry about that! I'm dating Susan!"

A mother took her six-year-old son to the doctor. With some hesitation, they explained that although their little angel appeared to be in good health, they were concerned about his rather small penis. After examining the child, the doctor confidently declared, "Just feed him pancakes. That should solve the problem."
The next morning when the boy arrived at breakfast, there was a large stack of warm pancakes in the middle of the table. "Gee, Mom," he exclaimed, "for me?"
"Just take two," Brenda replied. "The rest are for your father."

Thanks to our esteemed agent (so called on account of he travels on an esteem train) and all the good doctors out there.

VIDEO: "Climate Barbie" has no time for "climate change deniers"

Walt's Canadian agents say they're enduring a never-ending winter. Mother Nature may skip spring and go straight to summer, they say... around June 20th. Global warming... HA!

Canada's Minister of the Environment and Climate Change [sic], Catherine McKenna -- aka Climate Barbie -- has no time for those "climate change deniers", as she calls them, who insist that global warming and changes in the climate are the result of human activity, which can be changed. She says so herself, in this interview with Evan Solomon on CTV's Question Period.

There, in a nutshell -- word chosen deliberately -- is everything that's wrong with the "progressive" policy on the environment. Climate change is junk science at best, a hoax at worst, and the liberals (and Canada's big-L Liberals) are in denial about that.

Canadians are moderate sheeple, not much inclined to rise up in protest against anything except the NHL, but the majority of them simply don't believe in climate change, and are opposed to their Liberal government's California-dreamin' carbon tax policy. Climate Barbie doesn't get it. In fact she doesn't even want to hear any dissent from politically correct liberal thinking. She says so herself. And her boss, pictured below, agrees with her.

Footnote: Why on earth does she (along with so many others of her generation) preface every utterance with "So..."? What is that -- kind of like verbal punctuation meaning "I'm starting to speak now!"? I don't get it! See "So, there's a new bad English fad", WWW 30/6/14.

VIDEO: Canuck Minister tells The Rebel to stop calling her names

As part of his plan for the wussification of his country, Canada's self-proclaimed feminist Prime Minister Trudeau decided that at least half of his cabinet should be women (or wimmin) "because it's 2015". One minister who qualified because of what she has between her legs rather than in her head is Catherine Mary McKenna, who was appointed Minister of Environment and Climate Change, and has been focusing on the second part of her title, rather than the first, ever since.

Ms McKenna has annoyed the many Canucks who are skeptical about the "science" behind her hysterical cries that the sky is falling by labelling them "deniers", among other things. The Rebel Media has replied in kind by calling the Minister "Climate Barbie", a name which for some reason she finds offensive. In an exchange with Rebel reporter Christopher Wilson yesterday, the fragile snowflake demands that his organization stop it, STOP IT!

Walt's comment: C'mon you Rebel guys. Can't you see she's melting, SHE'S MELTING?! She can't help the way she looks, and really, not all bottle blondes are airheads.

Evidence-based questions about wisdom of alt-energy projects

The debate over alleged global warming, alleged climate change and "green energy" rages on. The good citizens of Port Wein (just down the road from Fort Mudge) are having a town hall tonight to argue for or against the visual pollution of their unspoiled countryside by a grove of wind turbines proposed for Ole Man Sedgwick's back 40. Neighbours are worried not only about the appearance of these monster machines -- like something from War of the Worlds -- but also about the incessant low hum of the turbines, the risks of radiation, EMP (whatever that is), yada yada yada.

Local gliberals will be on hand at tonight's meeting to remind those standing astride the path of progress that the purpose of installing all these infernal machines is to generate energy in the form of electricity, thus forcing the military-industrial complex to leave the oil and coal in the ground and thus defeat President Trump and put power back in the hands of the righteous and politically correct.

They're right. It's all about power, with a capital "P". In this case, it's electric power. But is having more electric power -- more electricity -- a good thing for this troubled world? Walt submits herewith a letter written to the Editor of the Toronto Globe on "The Dangers of Electricity".

Two concurrent circumstances are occurring, the increase and use of electricity as a power and the violence and number of our storms. It may be contended that the action of man could not affect the atmosphere of the earth; but it may be remembered that the clearing away of our forests reduced our Canadian winters in Ontario from four months in old times to two months now. The press of today tells us the Egyptian Sphinx that is some 6000 years old is now rapidly decaying, owing to alterations in the climate of Egypt, due to the irrigation works of recent years. The firing of cannon has in war times increased the rainfall. Thus experience proves that the action of man can affect the air, and the question is asked; Is electricity taken from the air and collected by the machinery used or is it an element existing in the air and turned into electricity by friction?

If taken from the air, it follows the tendency should be to produce less violence and longer periods of calmness in the atmosphere by its absence. If it is added to the air, naturally our storms or wind and rain and changes in temperature will be greater and more violent. Electricity seems to be what life is to man, the cause of motion, and is life to what has been considered by man inanimate matter. There, has anyone considered what may result if we continue making machinery for its manufacture, utilizing all power, natural and artificial, creating vested rights which later on may be found to be a source of danger to the many? The attention of the Legislature should be drawn to this by the press, and our men of science should collect facts and inform us as to the future consequences of unlimited production of electricity and using it as power.

In his letter, dated 16 August 1902, "Civis", of Hamilton ON, makes some good points. Nearly 115 years later we are still talking about shorter, warm winters (global warming?), air pollution (the Sphinx is still crumbling), and the increasing violence and number of our storms (Katrina, Sandy, and assorted "Snowmageddons"). The culprit could well be all that damn electricity we keep generating. Walt thinks the question needs further study.

"Worst blizzard in the history of New York City" - LMAO

New York Mayor Warren Wilhelm Jr. -- that's DeBlasio's real name -- warned of the "historic snowfall" that was about to descend on his city. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie -- aka Christie the Clown -- warned people to stay off the roads lest they be trapped in their cars. States of emergency were declared in advance of the impending "Snowmageddon" -- a word which was used sparingly, but used all the same. And in Rome, the Pope was adding a couple of references to his encyclical on the theologically fraught question of global warming.

And then... ... nothing happened! Or at least, nothing that a Canadian suburbanite couldn't handle with shovel. But New York and New Jersey aren't in Canada. [Tanks God for dat! Poor Len.] They are in the Paranoid States of America, where there is no such thing as a minor inconvenience. Everything that happens in America -- especially New York -- is the biggest and best... or worst... as the case may be.

Walt recommends that Messrs DeBlasio and Christie take a trip today -- now that the airports are open again! -- to someplace like Fargo, where the real snow is and where the real people are. That's the real America!

Note from Ed.: Even with the intervention of Poor Len, this is a bit short. So let's fill some space with a little-known fact, which has nothing to do with blizzards or effete Easterners. The decibel was named for the famous British-American-Canadian (depending on who you ask) inventor, Sir Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone. [Really? I thought Don Ameche invented the telephone. Walt]

Will the Big Blow win it for Obama?

There's an old joke [Here it comes. Ed.] About two Jewish clothiers lying in the sun at Miami Beach talking about how they got the money to have a vacation during the busiest season of the year. The first says his trip is paid for out of the proceeds of an insurance claim for a fire. The second says he got insurance money too, but for a flood. The first asks, "How to you start a flood?!"

I was thinking about that as I watched the TV coverage of the "October Surprise" -- that would be Sandy -- and the lamestream pundits' comments (echoed by the Donald) that the hurricane would tip the electoral balance in favour of Obama. That, they say, is because it gave him the chance to "look presidential", show that he was in charge of things and appear strong and decisive. Rather the opposite, then, of the image he projected during what I call the "September Surprise", meaning the Benghazi bumble.

In the aftermath of the Big Blow, two other big blows -- NJ governor Christie and NYC mayor Bloomberg -- announced their support for the Prez. Why? Because, Hizzoner said, he'll be better than Mitt at dealing with "global warming". Walt says, hold on a minute... Or several minutes!

There's something besides the weather and the streets of New York and Newark that needs clearing up. PuhLEEZE, gentle readers... "Global warming" (if there is such a thing) did not cause Hurricane Sandy!

According to Scott Sutherland, writing in Geekquinox, a Yahoo! news blog, global warming may have been a minor contributing factor, but "to corner weather and climate experts every time some weather event happens, and force them to answer the question 'did climate change cause this?' is, at best, naive, and at worst, manipulative."

Here, Sutherland says, is what we know for sure. The Gulf Stream was warmer this year than last. And sea surface temperatures have increased along the coast of the US Northeast, by about half a degree Celsius on average over the longer trend, and by a degree or more on the shorter trend. These higher sea surface temperatures would have provided more energy to Sandy, allowing the storm to maintain its strength further north than normal and possibly contributing to its overall size and extent.

Also, the sea level around New York City has risen by roughly 30 cm in the past 100 years. Sea level rise is linked to climate change, as ocean temperatures rise (causing the water to expand) and more polar ice melts (adding more water to the oceans). This rise in sea level would have contributed to the storm surge from Sandy.

And guess what, folks! No matter what the politicians say, the sea level is going to continue to rise, by about 3 mm per year, no matter who is president! Anyone who thinks that Al O'Bama is going to be able to hold back the waves, like a latter-day King Canute, is crazy!

Now then, about the terrorist attack on Benghazi... The "unfortunate incident" on 9/11 was not a misguided popular demonstration against a small and amateurish video which was perceived to be anti-Muslim. It was a terrorist attack, planned in advance, of which the Obama administration had prior warning.

In all the fuss about who scored the better debating points, the President's evasiveness on this point has not received due attention and examination. Senior Republicans are rightly accusing the President and the White House of covering up their wilful ignorance or at least incompetence in dealing with anti-American terrorism. And that's a fact.

Senator John McCain and other top Republicans have repeatedly accused the White House of evasion for refusing to answer questions about events at the US consulate in Benghazi that led to the deaths of four Americans. That's a fact too.

Here's what Mr. McCain told CBS recently. "This tragedy turned into a debacle and massive cover-up or massive incompetence in Libya is having an impact on the voters because of their view of the commander-in-chief.... It is now the worst cover-up or incompetence I have ever observed in my life. Somebody the other day said to me, 'Well, this is as bad as Watergate.' [But] nobody died in Watergate."

So, the big question this weekend is, will the average voter's ignorance of the facts, and the distortion of the facts by the Democrats and the lamestream media, save Obama's bacon on Tuesday?

Faithful readers of WWW are doubtless waiting for Walt to hazard a guess. (Lifetime pct .990.) I'm afraid you'll have to wait until Monday. Who knows? There could be a "November surprise" in the offing.

"I'm 76 and I'm tired" - Who really wrote this?

Agent 46 sent Walt a piece called "I'm 76 and tired", supposedly written by Bill Cosby. Ever-alert Ed. said he thought it looked familiar, and sure enough, we ran a version of this -- correctly attributed -- almost a year ago.

Anyway, this piece on being yesterday's guy in today's society are worth repeating. It's even more relevant today than it was a year ago. And it expresses the way I feel -- as another old geezer -- just about every time I read the news. After you've read it, I'll tell you who really wrote it.

I'm 76. Except for brief period in the 50's when I was doing my National Service, I've worked hard since I was 17. Except for some some serious health challenges, I put in 50-hour weeks, and didn't call in sick in nearly 40 years. I made a reasonable salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, it looks as though retirement was a bad idea, and I'm tired. Very tired.

I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it.

I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qu'ran and Sharia law tells them to.

I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries use our oil money to fund mosques and madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in Australia, New Zealand, UK, America and Canada, while no one from these countries is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia or any other Arab country to teach love and tolerance.

I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate.

I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses or stick a needle in their arm while they tried to fight it off?

I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of all parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

I'm really tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems.

I'm also tired and fed up with seeing young men and women in their teens and early 20's bedeck them selves in tattoos and face studs, thereby making themselves unemployable and claiming money from the Government.

Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 76. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter and her children. Thank God I'm on the way out and not on the way in.

OK, here's the spoiler! Sorry to say it wasn't Bill Cosby who wrote this piece. Here's the denial from Cosby's own website. As Walt told you last year (after checking with Snopes.com), the author is Robert A. Hall, a USMC vet and former MA state senator. His blog is called The Old Jarhead.

Another "I'm tired" piece appeared in 2005, expressing disappointment for the lack of support of the war against Iraq. The author was Lt. Col. Joe Repya, also a vet and a political candidate.

Robert A. Hall: "I'm tired"

The following piece was forwarded to me by an agent of an agent (!) with the comment: This should be required reading for every man, woman and child in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.

"I'm 63 and I'm Tired" - By Robert A. Hall, a Vietnam veteran.

I'm 63. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I've worked, hard, since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired. Very tired.

I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it.

I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and mandrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America and Canada , while no American nor Canadian group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance.

Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 63. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my children and grandchildren.

There's a lot of this thing circulating on the Internet, so I thought I'd check it out with Snopes. They say it is correctly attributed. Robert A. Hall is a former Massachusetts state senator and USMC Vietnam veteran. He blogs as "The Old Jarhead", in which "I'm tired" appeared on 19 February 2009.
