What happened to Trudeau's female cabinet ministers?
When Canadians, in a fit of national stupidity, elected Justin Trudeau as Prime Minister in 2015, they were not unsurprised when "Junior" announced that, as a "male feminist", he would ensure that 50% of his cabinet were women... or identified as women... or something woke like that.
When Little Potato announced a few days ago that he "intends" to resign as Dear Leader of the Liberal Party, and as Prime Minister of All Canuckistan, the talking heads at the CBC and the rest of Canada's lickspittle media pronounced themselves delighted that three heavyweight femals ministeres would be strong contenders to carry on his woke crusade to destroy the Great No-longer-white North.
The three were (note tense -- explanation follows) Chrystia Freeland, Mélanie Joly, and Anita Anand. This weekend, two of them announced that they would be joining Dominic LeBlanc on the list of those who would not be contending for the poisoned chalice. The only one left is Ms Freelove, who is yet to make up her mind. Undoubtedly she is having a rethink, as well she might, when you consider what happened to all those other Karens who jumped on Trudeau's pink bandwagon.
First there was Jody Wilson-Raybould, who is not just a woman but a BIPOC. She was initially elected as a Liberal, and served as justice minister and attorney general from 2015 to 2019, then (very briefly) as veterans affairs minister and associate national defence minister. Her time at the trough ended when she resigned in response to certain ungracious and untruthful statements from Himself concerning the SNC-Lavalin bribery scandal.
Jane Philpott, a medical doctor who had been demoted from the Health portfolio to President of the Treasury Board, resigned in sympathy and was expelled from the Liberal caucus. She quit because "I have lost confidence in how the government has dealt with this matter and in how it has responded to the issues raised."
Then there was the Honourable Catherine Mary McKenna, aka "Climate Barbie". She was the Minister of Environment and Climate Change [sic] from 2015 to 2019, but couldn't stand the heat (geddit?) and was demoted to Minister of Infrastructure and Communities from 2019 to 2021.
She has now retired from politics, but emerged from obscurity this week to explain Canadian politics to viewers of BBC News.
One of the two who has decided to throw her hat out of the window rather than into the ring is Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly. She told the meeja on Friday that she wanted to focus on the "threat posed by potential American tariffs. She then hied herself off to Washington for a jolly external affair with the Donald.
Yesterday, Transport Minister Anita Anand, another BIPOC -- another Indian, but not a Canadian one like Ms Wilson-Raybould -- announced that she too will not run in the Liberal Party's ongoing leadership contest to replace Prime Minister McBlackface. Nor will she stick around long enough to face an angry electorate when Canadians go to the polls, probably in the spring.
The amazingly versatile Ms Anand held several cabinet portfolios since she was elected in 2019. First she was Minister of Public Services and Procurement. Then she became the second woman ever to serve as Minister of National Defence. In one of her first acts in that capacity, Ms Anand transferred the investigation and prosecution of sexual misconduct cases within the Canadian Armed Forces into the civilian justice system. That's all ye know and all ye need to know.
That leaves the Liberals with only two declared leader wannabes. Both are male. One is an Indian -- turban, not feathers. The winner will be declared on the 9th of March. Walt thinks the 15th would have been the better date.

"Climate Barbie" quits to make room for Klima Ken
So, farewell then, Catherine McKenna, aka "Climate Barbie". You were one of Just In Trudeau's first diversity hires. To signal his virtue as a feminist by having as many women as men in his cabinet, Mr Socks appointed her in 2015 as Minister of the Environment.
Ms McKenna led the fight against global warming and, after the name change, climate change. She oversaw the introduction of the Canadian government’s "carbon pricing plan" (read: carbon tax), which was so appreciated by overtaxed Canucks that she was in danger of losing her Ottawa Centre seat in the 2019 election. During the campaign some unappreciative individual -- a right-wing white misogynist, no doubt -- had the gall to paint a graffito on the window of her Ottawa riding office.
I believe the miscreant meant to write "count", but made a spelling mistake. Obviously a product of Ontario education. No matter. Ottawa is a civil service town, and ya vote for the one who signs your paycheque, so Climate Barbie held onto her seat. However, in the ensuring cabinet shuffle, Blackie McBlackface promoted her downwards to the post of Infrastructure Minister -- a position in which she could be seen but, mercifully, seldom heard.
And now she is gone, or will be as of tomorrow. According to Canadian Press, Ms. McKenna wants to spend more time with her three children and "devote her professional energies to the fight against climate change." Wonder if Greta Thunberg knows about this?
Ms McKenna's departure opens the Ottawa Centre seat for Mark Carney, a former Governor of the Bank of Canada, who left the Great No-longer-white North some years ago to head up the Bank of England. Having proved to them that "Canadian competence" is an oxymoron, Mr Carney returned a few months ago and made a very public pronouncement of fealty to the Liberal Party of Canada at its policy snorefest last April.
Mr Carney didn't actually say he wanted to run. Oh my, no! According to M Trudeau, his appearance at the policy convention was simply a matter of Liberals tapping his expertise on economic policy and on climate change. "We're very pleased," he said, "to have someone of the stature of Mark Carney who has been working very, very hard on, among other things, the intersection between the global economy and the fight against climate change."
While he waits, Mark Carney is warming a chair (and drawing a considerable emolument) as... wait for it... United Nations Special Envoy on Climate Action and Finance. Note the order: "climate action" first, "finance" second.
Make no mistake. Mr Carney -- let's call him "Klima Ken" -- is another leftist climate zealot. He is more dangerous than Climate Barbie or her erstwhile boss because he actually has a good education and more than a handful of smarts. He know exactly how to manage a technocracy that will further erode the rights and liberties of the people, all in the name of saving the Earth.
Will the Canadian sheeple recognize the danger and see to it that the Trudeau Liberals are turfed out in the general election expected this fall? If they do, it won't matter if Mr Carney wins Ottawa Centre. In fact, he'll look almost as pretty as Climate Barbie on the other side of the aisle. And no-one will ever call him a "count".

UPDATED: Canada's feminist PM demotes blonde bimbos
Immediately upon his election four years ago, Canada's allegedly metrosexual, avowedly feminist and decidedly woke Prime Minister Just In Trudeau vowed to have equal numbers of men and women in his cabinet. Gender identity thus became Priority One, ahead of intellect, experience and competence.
The result was the appointment of Chrystia Freeland and Catherine McKenna as Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the Environment respectively. The two bottle blondes quickly became the most loathed and reviled members of the government of Canuckistan.
Chrystia Freeland, who represents an uber-elite riding in downtown Toronto, distinguished herself by:
- Throwing a "These people are impossible!" hissy fit when attempting to negotiate a trade agreement with the European Union
- So annoying American officials trying to renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement that they suggested it would be better if she stopped attending the meetings
- Pissing off the Saudis by demanding (!) the release of human rights activists jailed for violating the Oil Kingdom's laws
- Appearing in public in a white dress with bodice so tight that bumps looking like nipples were clearly visible to those who didn't avert their eyes.
Catherine McKenna, who was re-elected in an Ottawa riding where 98% of the voters work for the federal government, and know enough not to bite the hand that feeds them, quickly earned the sobriquet "Climate Barbie" for her hysterical rants about the imminent destruction of Mother Earth. She:
- enraged Western Canadians by suggesting that the oil on which their economy depends ought to be left in the ground
- opposing the construction of new pipelines (success!) and the expansion of the existing Trans-Mountain pipeline (partial success)
- passing a regulation further limiting the number of polar bears Inuit [former "Eskimo". Ed.] hunters could take, in the face of their testimony that polar bears are no more endangered than they were 50 years ago
- calling Canadians who didn't believe that in climate change ignorant and "unpatriotic"
- demanding that the meeja and other Canucks stop calling her "hateful names" like "Climate Barbie" and, errr, the C-word which was spray-painted on her constituency office the night of her re-election.
Canucks and others who find all this a bit hard to believe are invited to check out Walt's numerous sarcastic and disparaging posts about Ms Freeland and Ms McKenna.
But there's good news coming today for long-suffering Canucks. In about six hours, Prime Minister Trudeau will draw back the curtain to reveal his new and improved (???) cabinet. Apparently somewhat chastened by his rejection in large swathes of the Great No-longer-white North (not one Liberal elected in Alberta or Saskatchewan), Mr Socks is expected to shuffle Ms Freeland and Mr McKenna off centre stage, to positions in the wings, behind the potted plants.
Foreign Affairs magazine named Ms Freeland "Diplomat of the Year" for 2018. Walt's agent in the world's second-coldest capital city says that by this afternoon, the would-be successor to Mr Socks will be employing her diplomatic skills "domestically". Canada's constitution doesn't provide for a "Deputy Prime Minister", but rumour has it that the position, heretofore filled on an ad hoc basis by whoever was willing to take one for the team, will now be made official, complete with office, staff, limousine, all the stuff that Ms Freeland got used to while swanning around the capitals of the world as Foreign Affairs/Global Affairs Minister. She will thus enjoy all the influence that Vice-President Pence has in the US of A.
It's unclear where Ms McKenna will be going, except that it won't be Environment/Climate Change or Natural Resources. Some wags say that Greta Thunberg will be made an honorary Canuck and appoint to the Senate, so to become the new Minister for Deindustrialization, but somehow I doubt that. (Lifetime pct .982.) Ms McKenna will probably get something where her sensitivity to the needs of ordinary working-class Canadians can be put to good use. Minister of Revenue, perhaps. Or Minister of Refugees, Immigration and Citizenship. (There is such a ministry. Walt wouldn't kid you.)
Once the new and improved cabinet is installed, Prime Minister Trudeau is expected to take his family on a long overdue vacation to visit with his friend George Soros on the Aga Khan's private island in the Caribban. [Ed., please check. Didn't they already do that?]
UPDATE ADDED 22/11/19: This guide to the Trudeau government's new ministries appeared atop Chris Selley's column in today's National Post.

Red Green on climate change: we're getting too comfortable
First it was "global warming". After a couple of unusually harsh winters, the Luddites, liberals and tree-huggers changed the the name of the game to "climate change". That way they were covered no matter whether the temperature went up or down. But ordinary people like Walt (and you, dear reader) remain unconvinced. So now it's been upgraded to a "CLIMATE EMERGENCY". So says the Liberal majority in Canada's House of Commons, in a vote taken in the last days of the current Parliament.
Last night the Canuck Minister of the Environment and Climate Change [sic] Catherine McKenna (aka "Climate Barbie") put forward a motion describing climate change as a "real and urgent crisis, driven by human activity." In their wisdom, the MPs noted how the "crisis" is impacting Canadians, and affirmed the need to pursue clean growth methods to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The House of Commons passed the motion declaring a national climate emergency, and supporting Canada’s commitment to meet the Paris Agreement emissions targets, by a vote of 186-63, with only Andrew Scheer's Conservatives mildly opposed.
"CLIMATE EMERGENCY! Lordy, lordy! The sky is falling! The sky is falling!" Walt doesn't believe it. Every day, when I log into Win10, Bill Gates shows me pictures from around the world of beautiful natural landscapes, untouched by fire, flood or other disasters attributable to "climate change". Here is a picture I took just a couple of weeks ago -- postcard quality, if I do say so myself -- of one such scene.
When Two Jack Lake dries up, or is covered in ice in July, or a bubbling brown pool of shit, then and only then can you talk to me about "climate emergency"!
On the same point, kind of... I just stumbled upon a short essay by my old buddy Steve Smith (aka Red Green), from Duct Tape Is Not Enough (Hatherleigh Press 2002). It's called "We're Getting Too Comfortable".
Every generation gets a little wimpier than the one before it. Our ancestors lived in wooden shacks without running water or electricity. We have central heat, central air, central vac...humidifiers, dehumidifiers, carbon filters, ozone detectors, smoke detectors, chest protectors, bomb deflectors and house inspectors.
We can push one button in our house and another in our car and as long as we have an attached garage, we will never leave an atmosphere of constant temperature, humidity, oxygen content, and clarity. It makes for an easy, comfortable life, but, over time, Mother Nature will devolve us to the point where we can't handle any change in our environment.
Sure it might be nice to never shiver or sweat -- but not if it means that every time you open the fridge or oven door, you have a massive cardiac infarction. So don't try so hard to make it so easy. Human beings survive a lot better when they have something to fight against.

FROZEN! What global warming looks like
One of Walt's agents sent along this nice photo of Niagara Falls -- the Canadian Falls part, actually -- where they've been having a real, old-fashioned winter. None of that global warming or climate change BS for the hardy folks who venture out to see the beauty of the falls, which, by the way, is not frozen. The falls are still falling, underneath the crusts of ice.
Tomorrow is Groundhog Day. In villages north and south of Niagara Falls, famous groundhogs will come out of their burrows -- voluntarily or otherwise -- to predict how much more of this global warming we'll have to endure. In Pennsylvania, Al Gore will explain to the media any cold signals given by Punxatawney Phil. In Ontario, Canuck Environment Minister "Climate Barbie" McKenna will interpret the actions of the new Wiarton Willie. The old one died last summer... of the heat, no doubt.

VIDEO: "Climate Barbie" has no time for "climate change deniers"
Walt's Canadian agents say they're enduring a never-ending winter. Mother Nature may skip spring and go straight to summer, they say... around June 20th. Global warming... HA!
Canada's Minister of the Environment and Climate Change [sic], Catherine McKenna -- aka Climate Barbie -- has no time for those "climate change deniers", as she calls them, who insist that global warming and changes in the climate are the result of human activity, which can be changed. She says so herself, in this interview with Evan Solomon on CTV's Question Period.
There, in a nutshell -- word chosen deliberately -- is everything that's wrong with the "progressive" policy on the environment. Climate change is junk science at best, a hoax at worst, and the liberals (and Canada's big-L Liberals) are in denial about that.
Canadians are moderate sheeple, not much inclined to rise up in protest against anything except the NHL, but the majority of them simply don't believe in climate change, and are opposed to their Liberal government's California-dreamin' carbon tax policy. Climate Barbie doesn't get it. In fact she doesn't even want to hear any dissent from politically correct liberal thinking. She says so herself. And her boss, pictured below, agrees with her.
Footnote: Why on earth does she (along with so many others of her generation) preface every utterance with "So..."? What is that -- kind of like verbal punctuation meaning "I'm starting to speak now!"? I don't get it! See "So, there's a new bad English fad", WWW 30/6/14.
Further reading: "Climate Alarmists Maul Inconvenient Polar Bear Expert", by James Delingpole, Breitbart News, 11/4/18. Susan Crockford is a polar bear expert with a message that climate alarmists don’t want to hear: polar bear populations are thriving and are certainly in no danger from thinning summer sea ice supposedly caused by ‘man-made global warming.’

Climate Barbie apologizes for tweet praising Syria
Following Walt's posting of "Canuck Minister tells The Rebel to stop calling her names" (WWW 4/11/17 - includes video), Ezra Levant, whose The Rebel website coined the name by which Catherine McKenna would prefer not to be known tweeted: "Appointed to fill a gender quota; unable to control her emotions when criticized; spends taxes on vanity photo shoots. #ClimateBarbie fits."His point is not that Ms McKenna, like Chrystia Freeland, is one of the terminally entitled limousine liberals who gets her hair colour out of a bottle and any ideas which may temporarily reside in her head from the Toronto Red Star. The problem is that Climate Barbie is a classic example of the Peter Principle. The Peter Principle (by Laurence J. Peter and Raymond Hull, 1969), for those who haven't read it, states that people rise in an organization until they reach the level of their incompetence. Ms McKenna, now nominally in charge of one of the more sensitive portfolios in the Canadian cabinet, has actually risen above that level.
Yesterday, taking a break from defending herself for defending herself, the Climate Barbie was forced to admit that "clearly a mistake was made" after a tweet from her official departmental account praised Syria for joining the Paris climate agreement. The tweet has since been deleted, but we have a screen shot. Here 'tis.
Nicaragua and Syria were the final two countries to sign on to the climate accord, leaving the United States as the only UN member state not supporting the agreement. The tweet attracted dozens of complaints from other Twitter users, many of them pointing to the widely suspected use of chemical weapons by the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
The celebratory Nicaragua and Syria tweet was sent from @ec_minister. Its description says it is run by Environment and Climate Change Canada, Parks Canada and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency. Ms McKenna tweeted her response to the controversy from her personal account, @cathmckenna. "Clearly a mistake was made from my Dept twitter. We've been clear that the murderous Assad regime must end attacks against its people."
Well, maybe we're being a bit hard on Climate Barbie. Surely it's a bit unfair to ask the Minister of Stopping the Sky from Falling to take responsibility for communications sent out by the minions under her... errr... control. Walt suggests that in future she delegate adverse comments (along with whines about being called names) upwards to her boss, the self-proclaimed feminist Junior Trudeau. He's good at apologies, and totally undeserving of his rep for being a bit of an airhead himself.

VIDEO: Canuck Minister tells The Rebel to stop calling her names
As part of his plan for the wussification of his country, Canada's self-proclaimed feminist Prime Minister Trudeau decided that at least half of his cabinet should be women (or wimmin) "because it's 2015". One minister who qualified because of what she has between her legs rather than in her head is Catherine Mary McKenna, who was appointed Minister of Environment and Climate Change, and has been focusing on the second part of her title, rather than the first, ever since.
Ms McKenna has annoyed the many Canucks who are skeptical about the "science" behind her hysterical cries that the sky is falling by labelling them "deniers", among other things. The Rebel Media has replied in kind by calling the Minister "Climate Barbie", a name which for some reason she finds offensive. In an exchange with Rebel reporter Christopher Wilson yesterday, the fragile snowflake demands that his organization stop it, STOP IT!
Walt's comment: C'mon you Rebel guys. Can't you see she's melting, SHE'S MELTING?! She can't help the way she looks, and really, not all bottle blondes are airheads.
