VIDEO: The final episode (?) of Catholic Star Wars

Speaking of tyranny (see previous post), the "Catholics" who rule today's Church are working harder than ever to stamp out, once and for all, the Mass of All Time, and convert us Catholics who cling to the old and True Faith and the practice thereof to belief in and obedience to Francis and Leo's New Church of the New World Order.

If we persist in our resistance, we are condemned as "schismatics", cast out from the Church, and therefore doomed to suffer eternally in Hell... assuming, that is, that there is a Hell -- something the modernists don't talk about nowadays. Sin, Hell, redemption, salvation, Heaven, the Four Last Things: we don't hear about those things any more. Instead we are lectured on climate change and the benefits of mass immigration.

Remnant TV has just published this remarkable video -- a montage of video clips, actually -- narrated by Arthur Hallett-West, s Catholic in deep mourning over what was lost in Vatican II. This hilarious new parody skewers the latest SSPX controversy with exactly the kind of wit traditional Catholics will appreciate. You'll laugh... but you'll also recognize the uncomfortable truth beneath the jokes. Warning: Side effects may include uncontrollable laughter and quoting Star Wars at coffee hour.

Key takeaway (IMHO): "Just whose spiritual life is it? Is the hierarchy entitled to dictate the terms of liturgical engagement as a mere servant class, which is all they are mandated to be? And if they have buggered it up, as they appear to some to have done, should they not be rebuked and held to account?'

Walt invites fellow "Rad Trads" to send the link to this post to the Catholics you know who are still apologizing for the crisis in the Church, not admitting that the poisoned fruits of Vatican II were the work of Communists, Masons and other enemies within Holy Mother Church. Their aim was, and still is to change the True Faith to something other than what was revealed to us, through the Apostles and Doctors of the Church, by Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, while He was on Earth with us.

Let us pray. Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray: and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

VIDEO: Firing Line: Wm. F. Buckley Jr: the fight over Catholic Orthodoxy

The crisis within the Roman Catholic Church is not new. The fight to protect the True Faith against modernist novelties and heresy began about 30 seconds after the end of the Second Vatican Council (aka Vatican II).

The Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX), at the centre of the latest controversy (WWW passim) was founded on 1 November 1970, in Écône, Switzerland, by French Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre. It was established to preserve traditional Catholic theology and the Latin Mass, so to resist the "reforms" of Vatican II.

Some 10 years later, William F. Buckley Jr., a traditional Catholic (and leading political conservative), invited Michael Davies, Joseph Champlin, and Malachi Martin onto Firing Line, his popular TV show, to discuss the issues and the future of Holy Mother Church.

Their thoughts resonate clearly today, as the destruction of Holy Mother Church by Her enemies within looms on the horizon. Listen up.

Now would be a very good time to pray to "St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defencc against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen."

UPDATED: The end of Western civilization is here (VIDEO)

I don't want readers to think of me as one of those street-corner preachers, wearing a hair shirt and holding a sign saying "The end of the world is coming!" But, as I wrote in  "Not only the Vatican opposes woke gender ideology" (WWW 20/11/25), the end of our world -- of our Western (i.e. Christian) civilization -- is what the One-Worlders, including many Catholic hierarchs, are planning for us and pushing on us.

Their replacement will be a New World Order of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in which all cultures are equal -- some more so than yours, dear reader -- and Christianity is replaced by the New World Religion of secular humanism, in which believers are their own gods and define their own morality. (Offer void where prohibited by Sharia law.)

The latest episode of Anthony Stine's Return to Tradition vlog, a priest who lost everything speaking the truth to the Church, has a new warning about the end of the Christian age.

Mr. Stine seems to assume that his followers already know of Father Donald Kloster. For those who don't, Fr. Kloster is a priest of the Diocese of Bridgeport CT, and a very traditional Catholic. Reader who would like to see and hear him are recommended to click here to see "What Vatican II Did and Did Not Do".

UPDATE AND WOW!!! (added at 1237 FMT): "State Dept. Warns Mass Migration an ‘Existential Threat’ to Western Civilization", Breitbart News, 22/11/25. The first two paragraphs:

"The United States government has warned that mass migration represents an 'existential threat' to Western civilization and has warned Europe against the continuing open borders policies and the creation of two-tier justice systems that favour foreigners over native populations.

In a shot across the bow against the open borders ideology that has taken hold in the halls of power in many Western European capitals, the U.S. State Department urged its allies 'to take bold action and defend citizens against the threats posed by mass migration.'"

VIDEO: Bishop calls Vatican II "reforms" "elitist, disruptive & reckless!”

Walt regrets having been unable to attend (except in spirit) the Catholic Identity Conference held in Pittsburgh this past weekend. Clicking the link will take you to the home page where you read all about who was there, who said what, and what was achieved. You can also watch the livestream and access the video library.

One of the featured speakers was the Most Rev. Marian Eleganti, Auxiliary Bishop of Coire, Switzerland, who had recently issued a very powerful statement condeming the Second Vatican Council (aka Vatican II) and its poisoned fruits.

English is not Bishop Eleganti's native tongue, and he speaks with a thick accent, so, in creating a promotional video for the CIC, Emcee Michael Matt (editor of the Remnant newspaper, read the prelate's statement on the Remnant Underground. This is a fine dramatic reading of the bishop's summation of how the "spirit of Vatican II" led to the crisis faced by Holy Mother Church today.

VIDEO: Anthony Stine on the death of Francis... and what happens next

Regular readers will know that there are three traditional Catholic commentators we follow regularly, whoses videos we occasionally repost here. They are (in no particular order): Michael Matt, Dr Taylor Marshall, and Anthony Stine. Mr Stine's "Return to Tradition" vlog was first off the mark today with these thoughts about the death of Pope Bergoglio and how his successor may be chosen.

Like Mr Stine, we shudder at the thought of Cardinal Pietro Parolin -- Peter the Roman -- becoming pope. The cardinals who meet in conclave to choose Francis' successor are supposed to pray that the Holy Ghost will guide them in their deliberations. There is nothing to stop the faithful from praying too, nor to stop us from mentioning by name those we would welcome and those we would not!

Jorge Bergoglio, RIP

Yesterday, Easter Sunday, Christians around the world celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Today, Easter Monday, at 0945 local time, Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church, announced the death of Jorge Borgoglio, the man whom most Catholics called "Pope Francis", in these words:

"Dearest brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis. At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of His Church. He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage, and universal love, especially in favor of the poorest and most marginalized. With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we commend the soul of Pope Francis to the infinite merciful love of the One and Triune God."

Pope Bergoglio had been ill for some time. His "miraculous recovery" (see "Is Pope Francis compos or non compos?", WWW 25/3/25), appears to have been the result of the intervention of the Vatican's doctors, to the end that there should be no disruption of Easter Sunday, the holiest day of the on the Church calendar. And now the poor old man is at rest. May God have mercy on his soul.

Much will be written in the coming days about the decline of the Church -- not just my opinion but a visible and established fact -- which occurred on Francis' watch. God only knows how much of the crisis in which the Church now finds Herself is attributable directly or indirectly to the actions or neglect of Pope Bergoglio. What we must now watch for and pray for is the healing and recovery of Holy Mother Church from the ills of the decades since Vatican II.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

Good Friday, A.D. 2024

Reading: The Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ
according to Saint Matthew, 26: 36-75 and 27: 1-54 (DRV)

File:Dali Crucifixion hypercube.jpg

Stabat mater dolorósa
juxta Crucem lacrimósa,
dum pendébat Fílius.

Good Catholic friends... If you attend the Good Friday Liturgy at a mainstream Roman Catholic church today, you will hear only a "reformed", politically correct version of the Solemn Prayers which were said in all our churches, on every Good Friday for centuries, until the disorientation caused by Vatican II. Here are the traditional prayers -- note numbers 8 and 9 in particular -- in a translation bearing the imprimatur of Francis Cardinal Spellman.

1. For Holy Church. Almighty and eternal God, who in Christ hast revealed They glory to all nations: preserve the works of Thy mercy; that Thy Church, spread abroad over the whole world, may with a steadfast faith persevere in the confession of Thy Name. Through the same our Lord...

2. For the Supreme Pontiff. Almighty and eternal God, by whose judgment all things are established, mercifully regard our prayers, and in Thy goodness preserve the Chief Bishop chosen to rule over us: that the Christian people who are governed by Thine authority, may under so great a Pontiff increase in the merits of their faith. Through our Lord...

3. For all orders and degrees of the faithful. Almighty and eternal God, by whose Spirit the w hole body of the Church is sanctified and governed, hear our supplications for all the orders thereof; that by the gift of Thy grace, they may all in their several degrees faithfully serve Thee. Through our Lord...

4. For the rulers of the state. Almighty and eternal God, in whose hands is all power and authority: look with mercy on those who govern us, that Thy right hand protecting us, integrity of faith and security of country may be preserved. Through our Lord Jesus Christ...

5. For catechumens. Almighty and eternal God, Who dost continually enrich Thy Church with a new offspring; increase the faith and understanding of our Catechumens; that being born again in the waters of Baptism, they may be joined to the children of Thine adoption. Through our Lord...

6. For the necessities of the faithful. Almighty and eternal God, the Comfort of the sorrowful, the Support of the weary, let the prayers of them reach Thee that cry to Thee in any affliction; that all may have reason to rejoice that in their need Thy mercy hath come to their aid. Through our Lord...

7. For the unity of the Church. Almighty and eternal God, Who saves all men, and desirest not that any should perish: look down on such souls as are deceived by the wiles of the devil; that laying aside all heretical perverseness, the hearts of those who are in error may be converted, and may return to the unity of Thy truth. Through our Lord...

8. For the conversion of the Jews. Almighty and eternal God, Who art ready to extend Thy mercy even to the Jews, hear the prayers which we offer for the blindness of that people; that by acknowledging the light of Thy truth, which is Christ, they may be delivered from their darkness. Through the same our Lord...

9. For the conversion of infidels. Almighty and eternal God, Who dost ever desire the life, and not the death, of sinners: mercifully receive our prayer, and deliver them from the worship of idols, and join them to the flock of Thy holy Church, for the praise and glory of Thy Name. Through our Lord...

"Mad as hell!" - righteous anger vs the pandemic of apathy

Ed. here. In Walt's absence, we have decided to post, from time to time, images or videos that make points that we feel need to be made, again and again. Today Michael Matt, editor of The Remnant, invites you to think about righteous anger.

VIDEO: "Is the Pope Catholic?" - Michael Matt on the Pope's meetings with Pelosi & Biden: "His pontificate is a chastisement from God!"

Our old friend Michael Matt, editor of The Remnant newspaper, has recovered from the Wuhan flu [Thank you, Lord.] and has rushed out this special edition of The Remnant Underground to denounce the recent actions and pronouncements of Pope Francis, "the chaplain of the New World Order".

Mr Matt has some pretty scathing comments on the ramifications of Francis' making population control guru (((Jeffrey Sachs))) a permanent member of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences. Aside from being militantly pro-contraception, Mr Sachs is also co-author of the UN Sustainable Development Goals which promote abortion worldwide. So, here’s the question: How pro-life can Francis be when he has no problem partnering with pro-abort population controllers?

Of course there's more. Last week, Pope Bergoglio called on Big Tech to crack down on our freedom of speech. The week before that, as reported here on WWW yesterday, he rolled out the red carpet for Nancy Pelosi. So, how can one be a sincere Catholic and also a defender of a man who aids and abets the most notorious apostate pro-aborts in the world today?

In this video, Mr Matt argues that Francis has turned the Church over to radical globalists hellbent on building a New World Order out of the ashes of Christendom. In his e-mail to Walt today, he says "I pray I'm wrong. Please watch this video and decide for yourself."

Even if you're not Catholic, you should be very, very worried by the events of this week, particularly the meeting between Francis and Joe, on which we posted an update yesterday afternoon. Besides being the two most powerful "Catholics" (quote marks used intentionally) in the world. President Brandon and the man who calls himself "Pope" are two of the top three leaders of the One World movement. The missing third man was their boss, (((George Soros))).

We were not told what Mr Soros' acolytes discussed, but can safely assume that it wasn't how to promote freedom, Western civilization and Christian values. Let us pray again, today and every day, the Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel.

VIDEO: The difference between the Novus Ordo and Latin Mass

I know that some of our non-Catholic readers [and some Catholic readers too. Ed.] are wondering why traditional Catholics are so upset by Pope Bergoglio's recent attempt to suppress the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM), the Mass of All Time. See "Catholics outraged: 'Pope Francis' nukes Traditional Latin Mass", WWW 17/7/21.

One of my own friends, a well-meaning and religious person (but not Catholic) said to me, "It's all the same isn't it? Aren't you just clining to something which doesn't have any meaning in the 21st century?" Well no, I answered, the Novus Ordo (literally: new order) mass is not the same as the Mass of All Time.

There are those who argue that the "New Mass" -- one of the poisoned fruits of the Second Vatican Council -- is not a Catholic Mass at all! I won't go that far, but will say that there are much greater differences than the use of the vulgar language (literally: language of the people) instead of the Latin adopted by the Universal Church in the 5th Century A.D.

There are 1000s of articles and videos explaining the differences between the Novus Ordo and the Traditional Latin Mass, 100s of them written in the last two weeks in response to Francis' tirade. But it's been difficult to find something which outlines, clearly and concisely, why the differences matter to the faith.

The best we've seen so far is this short video from John-Henry Westen, editor of LifeSite News. Mr Westen points out that the changes that the Novus Ordo brought to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass shortly after Vatican II, have led to the "greatest abandonment of the faith in human history." We urge you -- Catholic or not -- to listen carefully and understand our dismay and anger.

If you understand and sympathize, we urge you to click here to read "LifeSite launches petition imploring Pope Francis to withdraw decree restricting Traditional Latin Mass". Then, please sign the petition! May God bless you and Our Lady guide you.

VIDEO: "The most radical thing Pope Francis has ever done..."

In a letter to the world's bishops accompanying the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum, Pope Benedict XVI* wrote: What earlier generations held as sacred, remains sacred and great for us too, and it cannot be all of a sudden entirely forbidden or even considered harmful. (My emphasis.)

Yesterday, the man who calls himself "Pope Francis" said, in effect, "Wanna bet?!"

Following up my earlier post, "Catholics outraged: 'Pope Francis' nukes Traditional Latin Mass", here's a look at how the man who calls himself "Pope Francis" is trying to extinguish forever the Traditional Latin Mass in his latest Motu Proprio, Traditionis Custodes. In the video, Dr Taylor Marshall calls this "the most radical thing Pope Francis" has done in the eight years of his papacy."

Commentators like Dr Marshall and Dr Peter Kwasniewski (see link at end of this post) are shocked by the extremism and autocracy of the Pope Bergoglio's lateset attack on the traditions of the Church. Dr Kwasniewski says it "doesn't make sense unless you're an ideologue." Dr Marshall calls it simply "a punch in the gut". Here's what's going to happen....

Item: Pope Bergoglio has declared that the Novus Ordo (New Order) Mass of 1969 is the "unique" (read: only) liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church. What Pope Benedict XVI* called the "extraordinary" rite is not recognized, except temporarily by exception.

Item: Only the diocesan bishop has "exclusive" power to authorize the Latin Mass, and that only within the even narrower confines of whatever restrictions the Vatican -- Pope Bergoglio and those surrounding him (Hello, "Peter the Roman"!) -- feel like imposing on any given day. A bishop may say OK, but not unless Rome says OK!

Item: Existing Latin Mass "groups"-- that's the word used -- like the Institute of Christ the Kind and the Fraternity of Saint Peter must undergo a loyalty test to ensure that they accept fully the Novus Ordo Mass of 1969. And they cannot have any hesitation to accepting fully the heresies of Vatican II, out of which came the "New Mass."

Item: Latin Masses, if allowed, must be moved outside of regular parishes. Dr Kwasniewski says thosse who want to celebrate the TLM are being treated like lepers, shunted off to disused churches and meeting rooms where they can't "contaminate" ignorant "mainstream Catholics".

Item: Even though a traditional Mass may be ["must be"! Ed.] celebrated in Latin, the Epistle and Gospel must not be proclaimed in Latin, only in the vernacular. tongues. This was one of the goals of the Modernist liturgical movement in the 1950s and of the Protestants and Freemasons who helped draft the Novus Ordo Mass approved by Vactican II.

Item: There to be no "new groups" centred around the Latin Mass. Not even bishops can allow the formation of such a group. That's for the Vatican alone. One wonders what will become of the existing "groups", like those mentioned above and the Society of St Pius X, the latter not being recognized by the Vatican in the first place. Goodbye to any hope of reconciliation!

Item: Pope Bergoglio has taken "the firm decision to abrogate all the norms, instructions, permissions, and customs" that precede Traditionis Custodes. Previous "indults" for the TLM are abolished. So as of yesterday, the celebration of the Latin Mass is forbidden, pending new permissions granted by the bishops (which really means the Vatican -- see above).

In the accompanying letter of instruction to the world's bishops (which is longer than the document itself), Pope Bergoglio slams down his dictatorial hand even harder! This Motu Proprio, he says, was necessitated by the bishops' responses to a skewed 2020 questionnaire that the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith sent out. He doesn't give any details of what the bishops said, but obviously it didn't conform to the Bergoglio's New Age/New World Order/ agenda.

He goes on to blame traditional Catholic priests and laymen for using the Latin Mass "to widen the gaps, reinforce the divergences, and encourage disagreements that injure the Church, block Her path, and expose Her to the peril of division." In other words, those who want the TLM are nothing more or less than a bunch of narrow-minded schismatics -- the same charge leveled against Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre and the SSPX.

In effect, Francis has hit the reset button. He orders the Church to return to "a unitary form" of celebration. But he doesn't mean the united form of the Mass of All Time, the Roman Mass of Saints Peter and Paul, the Fathers and Popes of the Church, canonized by Pope St Pius V. He means the quasi-Protestant New Mass, the validity of which is questioned by more and more faithful Catholics, as more is learned about how the New Mass was inflicted on us by Popes Paul VI and John Paul II.

Does Pope Bergoglio really think he can get away with this? Does he think he can, with the stroke of a pen, obliterate the memory of and devotion to the Mass of All Time, which faithful Catholics have handed won for sixteen centuries? Does he think he can put the genie -- the demand for a return to the Traditional Latin Mass -- back in the bottle?

Popes can say and write what they like, but unless they declare their utterances to be dogma, to be matters of Faith, Catholics may follow their precepts... or not! I predict that Traditionis Custodes will be honoured as much in the breach as in the observance. And when Jorge Bergoglio has shuffled off this mortal coil, his successor may very well abrogate this latest diktat, just as Francis now purports to abrogate Summorum Pontificium. Please, God, let it be so.

Enough from me. Here are the thoughts of Dr Taylor Marshall.

Further viewing: "Did Pope Francis Just Ban the Latin Mass? Reaction to 'Traditionis Custodes'" - Dr. Peter Kwasniewksi and Cameron O'Hearn discuss what this "ecclesiastical atom bomb", this "historical slap in the face", means for the future of the Traditional Latin Mass and the future of Holy Mother Church.

* Footnote: Pope Benedict XVI is still alive, as far as we know. Some believe that his purported resignation is invalid, and that the election of Jorge Bergoglio as Pope is therefore canonically illegal and invalid. In other words, Pope Francis is not the Pope! Others say that's right, because a real pope wouldn't, couldn't say and do the things that Francis says and does. QED.

Catholics outraged: "Pope Francis" nukes Traditional Latin Mass

In order to bring about the "Great Reset" and achieve the New World Order, (((George Soros))) et al. must first destroy the one institution which stands in their way. I don't mean the Disunited Nations. The globalist liberal elites and Communists have had the UN in their pockets for decades. I refer to the Roman Catholic Church, which at one time was the guardian and protector of the Western (read: Christian) civilization without which the entire world would be like... ohhh, let's say Afghanistan.

Try as they might (and are!), the Jews, Muslims and heathens cannot destroy Holy Mother Church by themselves. The One-Worlders need and are getting the active co-operation of the enemies of the One True Faith who lurk and work like termites within the Church. None of these is more powerful or more dangerous than Jorge Bergoglio, the man who calls himself "Pope Francis".

More and more traditional Catholics are beginning to think that Francis is the Antichrist, the evil one prophesied in the Bible, who opposes Our Lord Jesus Christ and seeks to substitute himself in His place before the Second Coming.

We mere mortals our not to judge Pope Bergoglio, for we cannot know his intentions for sure. But if we go by his actions, we are not wrong to infer that he means to emasculate and eviscerate the forms and structures of the traditional Catholic Church, and in particular the Lex orandi, lex credendi -- "the law of what is prayed [is] the law of what is believed" -- which expresses the relationship between worship and belief.

Expanded to Lex orandi, lex credendi, lex vivendi -- "the law of what is prayed [is] what is believed [is] the law of what is lived" -- the traditional Christian motto means that prayer and belief are integral to each other and that liturgy is not distinct from theology.

This ancient Christian principle provided a measure for developing the Creed, the Canon of scripture, and other doctrinal matters. It is based on the prayer texts of the Church, that is, the Church's liturgy. In the Early Church, there was liturgical tradition before there was a common creed, and before there was an officially sanctioned Biblical canon. So the liturgical traditions provided the theological framework for establishing the Creeds and Canon.

Six decades ago, the Second Vatican Council and Pope Paul VI began the task of dismantling this theological framework by instituting the Novus Ordo, a "New Mass", not in Latin but in the 1000s of "languages of the people", with a generous admixture of Protestant and even Jewish forms of prayer.

Today, in many modern Catholic churches, there is virtually nothing left of the old ways of worship. No Latin. No bells. No incense. A "resurrex" in place of the crucifix. A handful of people in a circle around the priest mumbling prayers which belong only to the priest, and singing "Kumbaya".

For traditional Catholics (like your obdt servant) attending a Novus Ordo "Mess" is painful in the extreme. Some of us believe that if we can't find a Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) to attend, we're better off -- our souls are better off -- staying and praying at home.

Thanks be to God, many of us could still find a traditional Mass within driving distance, perhaps at a chapel of the Society of St Pius X (SSPX) or in a parish where an old-fashioned priest might at least pray in Latin, albeit following the modern form. But no more!

Yesterday, on the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (!), Francis moved to stamp out the Traditional Latin Mass, once and for all. He issued a Motu Proprio -- kind of like an Executive Order in the American governmental system --which virtually bans the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass in ordinary parish churches throughout the world.

In Traditionis Custodes, Francis completely reverses the course set by Pope Benedict XVI, just fourteen years ago, in Summorum Pontificum, which specified the circumstances in which priests of the Latin Church could celebrate Mass according to the 1962 edition of the Roman Missal, in the form known as the Tridentine Mass or Traditional Latin Mass, and administer most of the sacraments in the form used before the liturgical reforms that followed Vatican II.

Effective immediately, priests may celebrate the traditional Mass only under special circumstances, and with explicit permission from the bishops of their dioceses, who are not bound to give such permission, even though they may have done so in the past. Can you imagine..."Please, your Eminence, can I keep saying the Latin Mass?" Cardinal Cupich: "No!"

I am running out of space. Later this weekend I'll explain exactly how the Motu Proprio works to suppress the Mass of All Time, beloved of faithful Catholics for at least 1500 years. Explaining why Pope Bergoglio did this is harder. My take is that Francis, under increasing pressure from the puppet-masters to fold the Church into a new pantheistic religion, feared that he would die -- he knew when he wrote this that he would soon be undergoing major surgery -- before he could accomplish the mission.

Traditionis Custodes may therefore be (let us pray!) the last act of a desperate man. Will he succeed in taking away our Mass, which is central to what we believe and how we live? God has promised that He will protect and preserve His Church, and for that let us pray, devoutly and urgently:

Saint Michael the Archiangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

VIDEO: How the revolution of Vatican II serves the New World Order

The 2020 Catholic Identity Conference was held this past weekend in Pittsburgh. Emceed by Michael Matt, editor of The Remnant newspaper, the conference included talks by Steve Bannon, Bishop Athanasius Schneider and Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, former Apostolic Nuncio to the United States. Here is the videotaped address address -- his first since his sensational testimony of 2018 -- by Archbishop Viganò.

In this hour-long talk, His Eminence talks about how the mainstream Roman Catholic Church has been taken over by Freemasons and secular humanists -- the ones Pope Paul VI called "the smoke of Satan" -- who entered the highest echelons of the Church at the time of the Second Vatican Council (Vatican II). Gob bless you as you listen to the truth about the present crisis in the Catholic Church.

Let us pray: St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil;l may God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do othou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Vatican breaks the First Commandment. What next??!!

There's a joke circulating amongst Traditional Catholics that Jorge Bergoglio (the man some call "Pope Francis") gets out of bed every morning and, religiously, says three stupid things before breakfast. It's not funny, really, but it's close to the truth. We never know how mild or how awful will be the latest pronouncement or the latest "reform" instituted by the so-called "Holy Father".

Last week, though, the Holy See (the city state known as the Vatican, of which Pope Bergoglio is absolute ruler) outdid itself in its capacity to shock and dismay even the modernist Catholics who are gorging on the poisoned fruit of Vatican II. The Vatican issued a new 10-euro coin featuring an image of Pachamamma, the Amazonian pagan goddess whose idol Francis enthroned in St. Peter's Archbasilica a year ago, alongside statues of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Traditional Vatican coins used to feature the images of Christ, Mary, the Saints, or popes. Not any more! This image on this one is clearly modelled on the carving of the pagan fertility goddess which was trotted out for adoration by the credulous during the failed Amazon Synod of October 2019.

Pachamamma, as the idol is called, shows the goddess pregnant with the orb of the world. She fits right in with Pope Bergoglio's 2015 encyclical Laudato si', which treats the earth as a pagan goddess (Gaia) and even proposes a hymn to her.

Walt dares to suggest that it's time for Francis to reread (if he has read it even once), Chapter 20 of Exodus, in which God, through the prophet Moses, gives us the Ten Commandments by which he bids us live. This is the first:

I am the Lord, thy God... Thou shalt not have strange gods before me. Thou shalt not make to theyself a graven thing, nor the likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, nor of those things that are in the waters under the earth. Thou shalt not adore them, nor serve them. (Exodus 20:1-5 DRV)

When Pachamamma idol was brought to Rome following the Synod, a courageous Austrian youth who was rightly offended by the open display of paganism threw the idol into the River Tiber. Some priests were so scandalized that they publicly burned the idol.

Dear readers, this is just further evidence (if more were needed) that Pope Bergoglio and his "church of accompaniment" have gone way beyond Protestantism and even humanism, towards a paganism more redolent of the Hinduism and Buddhism which Francis openly praises. For the sake of our eternal souls, let us not follow him.

Michael Matt VIDEO: Only America stands against the New World Order

We've been reposting videos by Michael Matt, editor of The Remnant newspaper, regularly, lately, because he's one of the very few talking sense about the paroxysm of fear and anger that has been sweeping the Paranoid States of America (and spilling over into other Western countries) for nearly four months now. More importantly, for us traditional Catholics, he relates the Dempanic, the race riots, and the breakdown of law and order to the crisis in the Roman Catholic Church, which started over half a century ago, with the Second Vatican Council.

In this video, Mr Matt tackles the question of rising racial tension in America and its impact on the 2020 presidential election. And, in the wake of the brutal murder of George Floyd*, Michael takes a closer look at police brutality, race relations now and in the past, and suggests that our "leaders'" war on God and Christian morality needs to be reconsidered immediately! He calls on all Americans -- black and white -- to stand together against those who would manipulate us into turning against each other and tearing our country apart.

But wait... there's more! Mr Matt asks what part the revolution in the Catholic Church plays in the loss of America's moral compass? Where is Pope Francis in all of this? Why is the Church no longer part of the solution for a society in turmoil? Where have all the Catholics gone? Why are the priests and bishops so terribly silent? All very good questions... Now is the time, Mr Matt says, for all Americans to come to the aid of our "one nation under God." The biggest question of all is: Do we have the courage to do it?!

*Footnote: At the time Michael Matt recorded this video, news had not yet broken of the shooting, in Atlanta, Rayshard Brooks, a 27-year-old black man. Mr Brooks had apparently fallen asleep behind the wheel of a car at a Wendy's drive-thru. A call to the local constabulary resulted in a lengthy confrontation during which Mr Brooks was fatally shot after he resisted arrest and stole an officer's Taser. The officer in question was... wait for it... white. In response, "protesters" torched the restaurant and shut down an interstate highway in both directions. Police arrested at least 36 "protesters".

Further reading: Speaking of Matts... let me recommend most highly a piece published on Friday by Matt [geddit? Ed.] Taibbi. Mr Taibbi suffers mightily from TDS, but he's still, IMHO, the best writer on American politics since the late Dr Hunter S. Thompson. Here's an excerpt from "The American Press Is Destroying Itself".

Each passing day sees more scenes that recall something closer to cult religion than politics. White protesters in Floyd’s Houston hometown kneeling and praying to black residents for “forgiveness… for years and years of racism” are one thing, but what are we to make of white police in Cary, North Carolina, kneeling and washing the feet of Black pastors? What about Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer kneeling while dressed in “African kente cloth scarves”?

There is symbolism here that goes beyond frustration with police or even with racism: these are orgiastic, quasi-religious, and most of all, deeply weird scenes, and the press is too paralyzed to wonder at it. In a business where the first job requirement was once the willingness to ask tough questions, we’ve become afraid to ask obvious ones.

Liberal Catholics stall beatification of Ven. Abp. Sheen

Traditional Catholics who read WWW rejoiced in the news that the Venerable Fulton J. Sheen was to be beatified, at last, on December 21st in Peoria IL. Archbishop Sheen, the greatest Catholic evangelist of the 20th century, did leave the mainstream church following the disaster that was Vatican II.

Towards the end of his life, though, Archbishop Sheen is said to have expressed regret at the dubious "reforms", particularly the suppression of the Mass of All Time. Thus he made himself the enemy of the "reformers", particularly the liberal bishops of the United States.

They and their powerful friends in the Vatican held up the cause for Abp Sheen's beatification for centuries, through such devices as a very unseemly wrangle in the courts over where the prelate's earthly remains should be buried. All this has been reported in WWW, passim; enter "Archbishop Sheen" in the search window at top right to check past posts.

Now, it seems, Archbishop Sheen's enemies have succeeded in delaying his beatification yet again. The Catholic Post, the newspaper of the Diocese of Peoria, published a press release dated December 3rd, excerpted here:

With deep regret, Bishop Daniel Jenky, C.S.C., Bishop of Peoria, announces that he has been informed by the Holy See that the Beatification of Fulton Sheen will be postponed. On November 18, 2019, the Diocese of Peoria received formal notification that Pope Francis had approved the Beatification of Fulton Sheen to take place on December 21st of this year. However, on December 2nd, the Holy See decided to postpone the date of Beatification, at the request of a few members of the Bishops' Conference who have asked for further consideration.

In our current climate, it is important for the faithful to know that there has never been, nor is there now, any allegation against Sheen involving the abuse of a minor. The Diocese of Peoria observes that the life of Fulton Sheen has been thoroughly and meticulously investigated. At every stage, it has been demonstrated definitively that he was an exemplary model of Christian conduct and a model of leadership in the Church. At no time has his life of virtue ever been called into question....

This development is unfortunate especially because there continue to be many miracles reported through Sheen’s intercession. Several have even been reported since the announcement of the Beatification date two weeks ago. It is undoubtedly further proof for those who truly believe in this Cause that these miracles will be credited to the intercession of the Venerable Fulton Sheen in the future.

Bishop Jenky is deeply saddened by this decision. In particular, Bishop Jenky is even more concerned for the many faithful who are devoted to Sheen and who will be affected by this news. He is firmly convinced of the great holiness of the Venerable Servant of God and remains confident that Sheen will be beatified. Bishop Jenky has every intention of continuing the Cause, but no further date for Beatification has been discussed. The Diocese of Peoria will offer no further comment at this time.

Walt wonders who were the "few members" of the USCCB who requested "further consideration". And what prompted them to intervene? In keeping with the culture of secrecy which pervades the hierarchy and affairs of the Roman Catholic Church, the USCCB has declined to provide any details or any comment of any kind. But the truth will out, one of these days. And don't be surprised if the name of Cardinal Blase Cupich, ninth Archbishop of Chicago, is mentioned. Lifetime pct .977.

Prince Charles pens tribute to Cardinal Newman, canonized today

Walt almost never reads L'Ossservatore Romano, the daily newspaper (but not the official publication) of the Holy See, since these days it is little more than a propaganda sheet for the ultra-liberal Jesuits, who, led by Pope Francis, are leading the Roman Catholic Church down the road to heresy and irrelevance. To learn more about the diabolical disorientation of Francis' Church, check out Michael Matt's latest video, "Hippies in the Vatican: A Groovy Kind of Synod", 12/10/19.

Today, however, the front page of L'Osservatore Romano features "John Henry Newman: The harmony of difference", a lengthy op-ed piece by HRH Charles, Prince of Wales, on the occasion of today's canonization of Cardinal Newman. He calls the canonization "a cause of celebration not merely in the United Kingdom, and not merely for Catholics, but for all who cherish the values by which he was inspired."

John Henry Newman was a 19th-century Anglican priest and scholar who converted to Catholicism at the age of 44 and was later made a cardinal. He was beatified by Pope Benedict XVI in 2010. Today he becomes the first Briton in four decades to be declared a saint. Prince Charles held him up as "a great Briton" and "one of the greatest theologians of the nineteenth century [who] applied his intellect to one of the most pressing questions of our era: what should be the relationship of faith to a sceptical, secular age?"

Prince Charles continues: "...first with Anglican theology, and then, after his conversion, Catholic theology, [Saint John Henry Newman] impressed even his opponents with its fearless honesty, its unsparing rigour and its originality of thought. Whatever our own beliefs, and no matter what our own tradition may be, we can only be grateful to Newman for the gifts, rooted in his Catholic faith, which he shared with wider society.

"His faith was truly catholic in that it embraced all aspects of life. It is in that same spirit that we, whether we are Catholics or not, can, in the tradition of the Christian Church throughout the ages, embrace the unique perspective, the particular wisdom and insight, brought to our universal experience by this one individual soul. We can draw inspiration from his writings and his life even as we recognise that, like all human lives, it was inevitably flawed. Newman himself was aware of his failings, such as pride and defensiveness which fell short of his own ideals, but which, ultimately, left him only more grateful for the mercy of God.

"Those of all traditions who seek to define and defend Christianity have found themselves grateful for the way he reconciled faith and reason. Those who seek the divine in what can seem like an increasingly hostile intellectual environment find in him a powerful ally who championed the individual conscience against an overwhelming relativism.

"And perhaps most relevantly of all at this time, when we have witnessed too many grievous assaults by the forces of intolerance on communities and individuals, including many Catholics, because of their beliefs, he is a figure who stood for his convictions despite the disadvantages of belonging to a religion whose adherents were denied full participation in public life. Through the whole process of Catholic emancipation and the restoration of the Catholic Church hierarchy, he was the leader his people, his church and his times needed."

Considering what has happened to the Church he loved in the 20th century, Saint John Henry Newman was blessed to have died in 1890, during the reign of Pope Leo XIII, mere moths before Leo's promulgation of Rerum Novarum, subtitled "On the Conditions of Labor", in which he articulated the Church's response to the social conflict that had risen in the wake of capitalism and industrialization and that had led to the rise of socialism and communism as ideologies.

The saint would surely not recognize today's world, dominated by leftist ideology, nor today's Catholic Church, ditto. Saint John Henry Newman, pray for Holy Mother Church, and pray that God will raise up a courageous leader like yourself, to confound the apostates and heretics who are perverting our Catholic Faith, and set His Church back on the right course. Amen.

VIDEO: Vatican II a "universal dumpster fire": Michael Matt

C'mon, Michael. Don't sugar-coat it! Tell it like it is!

"The Shamazon synod", LOL. The clips from the ultra-modern "masses" are horrifying, simply horrifying. What is wrong with these people (especially the priests) that they think there's anything Catholic about what they're doing?

Benedict XVI blames 60s culture, sexual revolution, for scandals, moral decline of Catholic Church

I have often written, here and in other publications, and told anyone who will listen, that the decline of the Roman Catholic Church and Christian (Western) society in general started in the hippy-dippy sixties. Our religion and our culture was killed by secularism and the counter-culture. So I enjoyed something of a "told ya so" moment yesterday when "Pope Emeritus" Benedict XVI released an essay on sexual abuse in the Church, which he blames on the "absence of God".

In the introduction to his "notes", the ex-Holy Father [Can there be such a thing? Ed.] writes: In the first part, I aim to present briefly the wider social context of the question, without which the problem cannot be understood. I try to show that in the 1960s an egregious event occurred, on a scale unprecedented in history.... In the second part, I aim to point out the effects of this situation on the formation of priests and on the lives of priests. Finally, in the third part, I would like to develop some perspectives for a proper response on the part of the Church."

In the 6000-world essay, which originally appeared in Klerusblatt, a German-language magazine for the clergy, Pope Ratzinger blames the Church's sexual abuse scandal on the 1960s sexual revolution, growing secularization and weak church laws that made prosecution of guilty priests difficult. "Among the freedoms that the Revolution of 1968 sought to fight for was this all-out sexual freedom.... Part of the physiognomy of the Revolution of `68 was that pedophilia was then also diagnosed as allowed and appropriate." What an amazing admission! How dismaying for faithful Catholics, to hear this from no less a personage than the former Vicar of Christ. But there's more...

"Why did pedophilia reach such proportions?", Pope Ratzinger asks. "Ultimately, the reason is the absence of God," he answers, noting failed attempts to include a reference to God in European Union treaties as a negative example of Western secularization. He also cited the appearance of sex in films in the 60s in his native Bavaria and the formation in seminaries of "homosexual cliques" in seminaries "which acted more or less openly and significantly changed the climate." He also attributes the moral corruption of the Catholic clergy and the Church as a whole to "failures in moral theology".

Benedict also faulted Church laws that protected accused priests. He wrote that during the 80s and 90s "the right to a defence (for priests) was so broad as to make a conviction nearly impossible." In 1981 Pope John Paul II named Cardinal Ratzinger (as he then was) Cardinal-Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, formerly known as the Holy Office and, especially around the 16th century, as the Roman Inquisition.

But did he do anything to excise the rotten and diseased members of Christ's Church? He tried in 2001 to reforms of those laws to make it easier to remove priests who abused children, and later, as Pope, defrocked 100s of priests accused of raping and molesting children. But he was opposed by powerful forces -- "the lavender Mafia" -- within the Vatican itself. Some say his unprecedented "resignation" was engineered by those same evil men, who succeeded in replacing him with the more tolerant and merciful Jorge Bergoglio.

Compared with Pope Francis, Benedict XVI emerges in this essay as a voice calling Catholics to turn away from the excesses of Vatican II, and back to the values of traditional Catholicism. Of course he does not suggest that Vatican II was in error or anything like the "anti-council" which many traditionalists now claim it was.

He writes: "The Second Vatican Council was rightly focused on returning this sacrament of the Presence of the Body and Blood of Christ...to the centre of Christian life and the very existence of the Church. In part, this really has come about, and we should be most grateful to the Lord for it. [But] what predominates [now] is not a new reverence for the presence of Christ's death and resurrection, but a way of dealing with Him that destroys the greatness of the Mystery." The reference is to declining participation in Sunday Mass and treatment of the Eucharist as "a mere ceremonial gesture."

"We do not need another Church of our own design," Benedict concludes. "Rather, what is required first and foremost is the renewal of the Faith in the Reality of Jesus Christ given to us in the Blessed Sacrament." A pity he didn't tell us sooner, but let us hope and pray for a Catholic Counter-Revolution, before Christ's Church disintegrates completely. Amen.

VIDEO: "Catholic Church corrupt from top to bottom!" sez Michael Matt

It's been awhile since we reposted a video featuring Michael J. Matt, the editor of The Remnant Newspaper. In this video, Mr Matt wishes all Catholics a "miserable Lent", because that's what Lent is all about -- sorrow and repentance -- and in this year of Our Lord 2019 we have a lot to be miserable about!

Mr Matt goes through a long an dirty laundry list of the sins of "modern Catholics", including many leaders of the Church, and points out how far the Church has fallen, in public opinion and in fact, since the Second Vatican Council, which some now call an "anti-council". Some of the worst pro-abort politicians in the world are Vatican II Catholics. And now that the neo-Catholic compromise has failed to appease the world -- with Cardinal Pell and other shepherds off to jail -- Mr Matt contends that we are in the last days of the Modernist Revolution in the Church, and that the only hope of the world is the traditional Catholic restoration.

But wait, there's more. Addressing the revisionist historians who say that the priesthood has always been corrupt, Mr Matt takes a walk down movie memory lane to put the lie the Catholic-bashing claim that "it's always been this way." And, finally, he points out how the Modernist regime is intentionally destroying the old Catholic Church -- the Church that built the greatest civilization in history -- on purpose in order to make room for the New World Order. Agent 17, this is for you!
