VIDEO: Michael Matt warms of Catholicism being subsumed into the New World Religion

Ed. here. I'm having a hard time getting something worthwhile to fill this space every day, what with the NHL semi-final series between Canada's Team (the Montréal Canadiens) and the Las Vegaas Golden Knights being in full swing. The series is tied at 1 game each, with Game 3 going at le Centre Bell in Montréal at 2000 EDT today.

So... Michael Matt to the rescue! We can always count on Mr Matt, editor of The Remnant newspaper, to produce thought-provoking (and passionate!) commentaries on the crises in the Roman Catholic Church and the world at large. (There is no crisis in the US of A. If you doubt that, just read the lickspittle media and see if you can find one.)

In this week's video, Mr Matt asks (and answers) some very pertinent (and impertinent) questions, such as:

What's the connection between the October 2019 Amazon Synod and the global lockdown that took place a couple of months later?
Is there a connection between Traditional Catholicism and the Pope's move to rein in the "rigid" Catholics [That would include Mr Matt and me! Walt] worldwide?

The G7 plan to reset the whole world with the help of the Vatican is no longer just a Republican vs. Democrat issue. So, what is it?
Will a New World Order come with a New World Religion? If so, what happens to Christianity?

Protestant ministers were fighting for a constitutional amendment proclaiming Christ king over a hundred years ago. In 1925, Pope Pius XI proclaimed the doctrine on the Kingship of Christ to the entire world. So, what happened, and is there a connection between the abandonment of the King and the reign of chaos through which we're living today?

With a little help from Bill Maher, Jon Stewart and Eric Clapton, Mr Matt answers all those questions in this riveting video. You'll want to watch every minute!

Vatican breaks the First Commandment. What next??!!

There's a joke circulating amongst Traditional Catholics that Jorge Bergoglio (the man some call "Pope Francis") gets out of bed every morning and, religiously, says three stupid things before breakfast. It's not funny, really, but it's close to the truth. We never know how mild or how awful will be the latest pronouncement or the latest "reform" instituted by the so-called "Holy Father".

Last week, though, the Holy See (the city state known as the Vatican, of which Pope Bergoglio is absolute ruler) outdid itself in its capacity to shock and dismay even the modernist Catholics who are gorging on the poisoned fruit of Vatican II. The Vatican issued a new 10-euro coin featuring an image of Pachamamma, the Amazonian pagan goddess whose idol Francis enthroned in St. Peter's Archbasilica a year ago, alongside statues of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Traditional Vatican coins used to feature the images of Christ, Mary, the Saints, or popes. Not any more! This image on this one is clearly modelled on the carving of the pagan fertility goddess which was trotted out for adoration by the credulous during the failed Amazon Synod of October 2019.

Pachamamma, as the idol is called, shows the goddess pregnant with the orb of the world. She fits right in with Pope Bergoglio's 2015 encyclical Laudato si', which treats the earth as a pagan goddess (Gaia) and even proposes a hymn to her.

Walt dares to suggest that it's time for Francis to reread (if he has read it even once), Chapter 20 of Exodus, in which God, through the prophet Moses, gives us the Ten Commandments by which he bids us live. This is the first:

I am the Lord, thy God... Thou shalt not have strange gods before me. Thou shalt not make to theyself a graven thing, nor the likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, nor of those things that are in the waters under the earth. Thou shalt not adore them, nor serve them. (Exodus 20:1-5 DRV)

When Pachamamma idol was brought to Rome following the Synod, a courageous Austrian youth who was rightly offended by the open display of paganism threw the idol into the River Tiber. Some priests were so scandalized that they publicly burned the idol.

Dear readers, this is just further evidence (if more were needed) that Pope Bergoglio and his "church of accompaniment" have gone way beyond Protestantism and even humanism, towards a paganism more redolent of the Hinduism and Buddhism which Francis openly praises. For the sake of our eternal souls, let us not follow him.

What is Francis trying to say? A Lenten confession, perhaps?

Catholic World News reports that in the latest Vatican yearbook, the Annuario Pontificio, the title "Vicar of Christ" does not appear on the listing for Pope Francis.

In the 2020 edition of the Annuario, the page devoted to Pope Francis is headed simply by his name: Jorge Maria Bergoglio. Past editions have always been headed by the titles accorded to the Pope, beginning with "Vicar of Jesus Christ".

Other titles have been "Successor of the Prince of the Apostles, Supreme Pontiff of the Universal Church, Primate of Italy, Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Roman province, Sovereign of the Vatican City-State." In the 2020 edition, these titles appear at the bottom of the page devoted to Pope Francis, where they are identified only as "historical" titles.

Such a change would undoubtedly have required the approval of the Pontiff. What, then, is the significance of this deletion?

In 2006, Pope Benedict XVI dropped another traditional title: "Patriarch of the West". The Vatican explained that the elimination of this title "could prove useful to ecumenical dialogue." The statement also noted that the significance of that title "was never very clear, and over history has become obsolete and practically unusable."

But this change is different. The title "Vicar of Jesus Christ" has a clear and unmistakable theological significance. Cardinal Gerhard Müller, the former prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, called the downgrading of the title a "theological barbarism."

To date the Vatican has not issued any explanation for the change, but Walt has a thought... or two... From the very beginning, the legitimacy of Cardinal Bergoglio's election has been called into question. There were those who said, with the weight of precedent behind them, that the position of Vicar of Christ (etc etc) wasn't open, since the incumbent, Benedict XVI, was still alive. His purported resignation, they said, was a nullity. One pope at a time is enough!

Then, leaks from within the conclave of Cardinals which chose him suggested that a good deal of campaigning and lobbying was done, contrary to the norms for such events, and that all necessary steps were taken to ensure that (as the hockey metaphor says) the puck was nailed to Jorge's stick.

Favours were promised, they said, and any number of things Pope Bergoglio said and did after his elevation to the Chair of Peter suggest that the promises were kept. Many somewhat traditional bishops were cast out, and liberals put in their places. The Church founded by Jesus Christ has now become simply the "church of accompaniment". One wonders if the next word to be deleted will be "Catholic".

And then came the Amazon Synod, which seemed even to many "moderate" Catholics -- never mind the Traditionalists -- a step too far. Was God Himself displeased? Is it merely a coincidence that the entire world, and particularly the once-Catholic countries of Italy and Spain, have been smitten with a modern-day plague -- the corona virus? Could Covid-19 be God's way of telling us -- especially you, Francis -- "Wait just a minute there!" And just in time for Easter too!

Could it be that Pope Bergoglio -- if "pope" he is -- has seen the error his ways? He was leading us into heresy -- women priests, sodomy not a sin, you don't have to be Catholic to be saved -- and now God, who will not be mocked, is telling him to set things right, and quick too! Stripping himself of the title "Vicar of Christ" could be a tacit admission that he was not legitimately elected, and therefore not pope after all.

From there, it would be easy enough to step down. In theory (as I understand it) that would leave Benedict XVI in the position. When he dies, a new pope could be elected -- one who, we pray, would be worthy of the title "Vicar of Christ".

VIDEO: Is Pope Francis Catholic, after all?

Somewhere between the incredible (= not to be believed) Amazon Synod, held in Rome in October, and Querida Amazonia (= Beloved Amazon), Pope Francis' apostolic exhortation, released on February 12th, something astonishing happened. The highly anticipated document, the shortest ever written by this pope, is completely silent on the two hot-button issues which dominated the discussions at the synod: the possibility of married priests and women deacons.

Instead, it focused almost entirely on the "four great dreams" - social, cultural, ecological, and ecclesial - in which Francis says he hopes to awaken an "affection and concern" for the Amazon for the whole world. - while calling for “outrage” over the treatment of the region's land and its peoples.

Although the letter is meant to be a response to the synod's final document, "The Amazon: New Paths for the Church and for Integral Ecology", Francis does not address the issue of married priests directly, saying only that "every effort should be made" to ensure people in the Amazon region, some of whom only see a priest once or twice a year, have "regular access to the sacraments, especially the Eucharist and confession."

What happened? Did Pope Bergoglio and the other modernists in the hierarchy (especially the German bishops) just blink? Have they realized at last that by introducing a "new theology" that is antithetical to the Faith of our fathers, they are leading us into heresy?

In this video, Michael Matt, editor of The Remnant newspaper, says there was so much opposition coming from the ranks of faithful Catholics that, at least for the moment, "Team Francis" had to put their plans for married priests and women deacons on the back burner.

Bonus: If you haven't clicked the play button yet, there's more in this video. Mr Matt also asks and answers two very interesting questions:
Can a Catholic in good conscience vote for the twice-divorced Donald Trump? and
Is Rush Limbaugh right when he suggests that America may not be ready for President Buttigieg and the First Gentleman? Is this homophobic, or just a simple statement of fact? Watch the video!

VIDEO: Michael Matt joins the "Catholic clans" in Munich

What in the world is going on in the Roman Catholic Church? There are powerful enemies of the True Faith, in the highest echelons of the Church, who are doing their utmost to lead Christians away from the traditional Church into the Pope Bergoglio's "church of accompaniment", which is, in effect, anti-Christian.

One of the hottest hotbeds of heresy is Germany, where neo-Catholic bishops led by Cardinal Reinhard Marx (no relation?) are attempting to impose the errors of the Amazon Synod throughout the whole Church. In Munich, a stone's throw [You're not suggesting anything here, are you? Ed.] from the prelate's palace, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò made a surprise appearance to stand with traditional Catholic resistance to the German bishops.

This gathering -- Acies Ordinata -- was by personal invitation to journalists and representatives of Catholic action groups around the world. If it had been advertised beforehand, there is a very good chance it would have been blocked. As it was, the statement of resistance to the modernistagenda was loud and clear. Michael Matt, editor of The Remnant, reports.

VIDEO: Catholic priest burns effigy of Pachamama

Traditional Catholics, who try to keep the Faith of our fathers, were pleased this past weekend to see a Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Mexico City burning effigies of the pagan "Pachamama" statues, while leading the faithful in prayer to atone for the sin of worshipping the statues during the recently concluded Amazon Synod at the Vatican. Here's the video, originally posted on LifeSite News.

Father Hugo Valdemar stands outside a Church dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe, while flames leaped out of a metal fireplace on top of a table covered with a white cloth. He stands next to an altar-boy holding an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The priest was also flanked by an icon of Saint Michael the Archangel, to whom we pray earnestly, now more than ever, to protect us in the day of battle and deliver Holy Mother Church from her enemies, without and (especially) within.

"The most blessed Virgin of Guadalupe", Father Hugo says, "is a young woman who is pregnant. She has Jesus in her womb, who is to give birth to the new continent [the new world]. She says that she comes to grant her love to all the inhabitants of this entire continent (not just Mexico). She is pregnant and carries Jesus who will bring us the Gospel and drive away the darkness of idolatry and the devil."

The priest then picks up one of the Pachamama effigies and, holding it next to the image of Our Lady, explains the difference between the two.

"A friend exorcist says that this idol [Pachamama] is actually the figure of the Antichrist. It is a blasphemy and parody of Mary. Pachamama is pregnant but carries the Antichrist to give birth to him in the Masonic church, to destroy the sacraments, which is to return to idolatry and superstition. So, this Antichrist who is to give birth to a church with an 'Amazonian face' is an abomination, it is a contradiction to Church doctrine, which is the dynamic into which these idolaters want to enter now.

"So, in sign of repugnance to the offences that they made to the most Blessed Virgin Mary in Rome, in Her Church of Transpontina, we, as a protest and as a sign of reparation, burn this satanic idol of the Pachamama."

Father Hugo then drops the Pachamama into the fire, where it was consumed. Two more effigies were later burned. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ, and to your Blessed Mother.

You are invited! Pontifical High Mass, Pittsburgh, All Saints Day

Our old friend Michael Matt, editor of The Remnant newspaper, also featured in "Vatican II a 'universal dumpster fire'" and many more videos posted here on WWW, has had a busy month. He's been in Rome, reporting daily on the just-concluded and just dreadful Shamazon Synod. Click here to view "AMAZON: Catholic World Rejects Globalist Synod", 25/10/19, in which he reveals who dumped Pachamama in the Tiber! Now he's back in the good ole Excited States of America and is busy getting ready for the Catholic Identity Conference to be held in Pittsburgh this weekend.

The conference will take an official and public stand against what's happening in Rome. Vaticanista, Diane Montagna, for example, who is enroute from Rome to Pittsburgh right now, will present the very latest on the Amazon Synod during her talk on Saturday afternoon. The CIC is sold out, but it will be available via On-Demand Video Subscription. Mr Matt (and Walt) urge you to support the CIC, by subscribing today.

But wait... there's more! The CIC's Opening Pontifical High Mass will be Celebrated by Bishop Athanasius Schneider on the Feast of All Saints.

The organizers are hoping to pack out the Church of the Precious Blood of Jesus in Pittsburgh for the opening of the Conference. All are welcome! And you never know who (besides Mr Matt) you may meet there. Please spread the word!

Prince Charles pens tribute to Cardinal Newman, canonized today

Walt almost never reads L'Ossservatore Romano, the daily newspaper (but not the official publication) of the Holy See, since these days it is little more than a propaganda sheet for the ultra-liberal Jesuits, who, led by Pope Francis, are leading the Roman Catholic Church down the road to heresy and irrelevance. To learn more about the diabolical disorientation of Francis' Church, check out Michael Matt's latest video, "Hippies in the Vatican: A Groovy Kind of Synod", 12/10/19.

Today, however, the front page of L'Osservatore Romano features "John Henry Newman: The harmony of difference", a lengthy op-ed piece by HRH Charles, Prince of Wales, on the occasion of today's canonization of Cardinal Newman. He calls the canonization "a cause of celebration not merely in the United Kingdom, and not merely for Catholics, but for all who cherish the values by which he was inspired."

John Henry Newman was a 19th-century Anglican priest and scholar who converted to Catholicism at the age of 44 and was later made a cardinal. He was beatified by Pope Benedict XVI in 2010. Today he becomes the first Briton in four decades to be declared a saint. Prince Charles held him up as "a great Briton" and "one of the greatest theologians of the nineteenth century [who] applied his intellect to one of the most pressing questions of our era: what should be the relationship of faith to a sceptical, secular age?"

Prince Charles continues: "...first with Anglican theology, and then, after his conversion, Catholic theology, [Saint John Henry Newman] impressed even his opponents with its fearless honesty, its unsparing rigour and its originality of thought. Whatever our own beliefs, and no matter what our own tradition may be, we can only be grateful to Newman for the gifts, rooted in his Catholic faith, which he shared with wider society.

"His faith was truly catholic in that it embraced all aspects of life. It is in that same spirit that we, whether we are Catholics or not, can, in the tradition of the Christian Church throughout the ages, embrace the unique perspective, the particular wisdom and insight, brought to our universal experience by this one individual soul. We can draw inspiration from his writings and his life even as we recognise that, like all human lives, it was inevitably flawed. Newman himself was aware of his failings, such as pride and defensiveness which fell short of his own ideals, but which, ultimately, left him only more grateful for the mercy of God.

"Those of all traditions who seek to define and defend Christianity have found themselves grateful for the way he reconciled faith and reason. Those who seek the divine in what can seem like an increasingly hostile intellectual environment find in him a powerful ally who championed the individual conscience against an overwhelming relativism.

"And perhaps most relevantly of all at this time, when we have witnessed too many grievous assaults by the forces of intolerance on communities and individuals, including many Catholics, because of their beliefs, he is a figure who stood for his convictions despite the disadvantages of belonging to a religion whose adherents were denied full participation in public life. Through the whole process of Catholic emancipation and the restoration of the Catholic Church hierarchy, he was the leader his people, his church and his times needed."

Considering what has happened to the Church he loved in the 20th century, Saint John Henry Newman was blessed to have died in 1890, during the reign of Pope Leo XIII, mere moths before Leo's promulgation of Rerum Novarum, subtitled "On the Conditions of Labor", in which he articulated the Church's response to the social conflict that had risen in the wake of capitalism and industrialization and that had led to the rise of socialism and communism as ideologies.

The saint would surely not recognize today's world, dominated by leftist ideology, nor today's Catholic Church, ditto. Saint John Henry Newman, pray for Holy Mother Church, and pray that God will raise up a courageous leader like yourself, to confound the apostates and heretics who are perverting our Catholic Faith, and set His Church back on the right course. Amen.

"Société sans père, société sans repère" - 600,000 demonstrate vs artificial reproduction, in vitro fertilization

"Société sans père, société sans repère!" ("Society without father, society without landmark!") That was the slogan chanted by 600,000 demonstrators in Paris last Sunday. They took to the streets to protest against proposed government (read: taxpayer) funding of "medically assisted procreation" -- sperm donation and in vitro fertilization -- for lesbian couples and single women.

Largely ignored by the centre-left government of Emmanuel Macros (which is responsible for the proposal), as well as the lamestream media in France and North America, the protesters marched past the French Senate, bearing signs expressing the old-fashioned notion that every child should be born to a mother and a father. Their signs and placards featured such slogans as "Where is my dad?", "Liberty, Equality, Paternity" (a play on "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity", the national motto -- geddit?), and "Everyone needs a father."

The leaders of the mainstream Catholic Church were absented themselves from the demonstration -- too busy worshipping Mother Earth in Amazonia, no doubt -- but a large number of traditional Catholic, rightist and populist groups took part, including La Manif Pour Tous, Alliance Vita, les Associations Familiales Catholiques, and le Comité Protestant Évangélique pour la Dignité Humaine. Polilticians from Marine Le Pen's Parti National were also present, along with a few from the Republicans.

Last month, the lower house of the French parliament approved a draft bioethics law which would allow lesbian and single women to conceive children with medical help. The bill must now be approved by the Senate, before it can be passed. As French law stands now, only heterosexual couples who have been married or living together for more than two years have the right to access procedures such as in vitro fertilisation, artificial insemination or sperm donation. M Macron's government, pandering to the LGBTQ+++ lobby, wants to extend this right to all wimmin. [What about men who "identify as women"? Ed.]

The organizers of the protest, dubbed "Marchons Enfants" contend that the parliamentary debates were "ignored" and "despised". Ludovine Dutheil de La Rochère, president of La Manif Pour Tous, said that in the face of failed attempts to discuss the ethics, rather than economics, of the measure, the only way to be heard was to take to the streets.

Thus the gathering of well over half a million to protest "the manufacture of children voluntarily deprived of fathers", "submission to ultra-liberal capitalism judging the dignity of a person only at its economic value", and "the weakening of the family fabric and therefore the whole society."

Crisis in the Catholic Church coming to a head... as in Head (= Pope)

I am no prophet [We leave that to Poor Len Canayen. Ed.] but, dear Catholic readers, it looks to me as if we may be mere months, or even weeks away, from a revolution in the Roman Catholic Church -- a revolt of the faithful against the leadership into perdition of Pope Francis. By "the faithful", I mean not just traditional Catholics like Michael Matt, but all those who cling to what's left of the True Faith after what Mr Matt rightly calls "universal dumpster fire" that was Vatican II.

The Unholy Father calls those of us who cling to the Faith of Our Fathers, "orthodox Catholics". I'm just as proud to be an "orthodox Catholic" as I am to be a "deplorable". The appellation reminds me of a school cheer I learned in my university daze.
We are the salt of the earth, so give ear to us
No new ideas shall ever come near to us
Orthodox, Catholic, crammed with divinity
Damn the dissenters, hurrah for the Trinity.

But I digress... The news... the sad news... is that, according to a transcript published in the National Catholic Register September 11th, Francis told a plane-full of international reporters on a flight from Madagascar to Rome that if you're an "orthodox" Catholic, he doesn't want you in his church! The Pope (if such he is) is obviously smarting from criticisms from many quarters that he is a heretic and a schismatic, even that is not a valid pope. These denunciations have come from his own Cardinals and bishops, the Curia, the religious press, and devout Catholic laymen like Michael Matt and Christopher Ferrara, not to mention lesser-known traditional Catholics like Yr Obdt Servant.

Francis called such attacks "the criticism of arsenic pills...throwing the stone but hiding the hand." Then he rambled on, denouncing his critics -- he mentioned the late Archbishop Lefebvre by name -- as being "schismatics". Yet it is Francis himself who is not only a heretic, but the true schismatic. The great Jesuit theologian Francisco Suarez wrote (translated): ...the pope could be schismatic, if he were unwilling to be in union and association with the whole body of the Church, as would occur if he attempted to excommunicate the whole Church, or, as both [Cardinal-Theologians] Cajetan and Torquemada observe, if he wished to overturn the rites of the Church established in Apostolic Tradition. (De Charitate, Disputatio XII de Schismate, sectio 1)

Yet that is exactly what Francis has done, in rejecting (along with every pope since Vatican II) the traditional Latin Mass and substituting for it an invalid and heretical Protestant service. Francis is the man who has destroyed the Catholic liturgy, Catholic doctrine, and Catholic morality! The "orthodox" Catholics, those who preach and practise correct doctrine (that's what "orthodox" means -- "correct doctrine") are the true Catholics. Those who don't, like the Unholy Father and his followers, are the true schismatics.

Two of the prelates who Pope Francis would judge to be "orthodox" are Cardinal Raymond Burke and Bishop Athanasius Schneider, both mentioned on WWW before. The National Catholic Register reports their call for a Crusade of Prayer and Fasting, from September 17th to October 26th, for the welfare of the Church. Their plea cites the dangers of "implicit pantheism" in the working document for the upcoming Amazon Synod, and argues against tailoring Catholic ordained ministries to the ancestral customs of the aboriginal people."

Faithful Cardinals, Bishops, priests and laypeople -- 1000s of them -- are righteously indignant over the direction in which Pope Francis is leading Holy Mother Church. He is not the good shepherd, but a false prophet leading us to the edge of the cliff at the bottom of which lies heresy, apostasy and the punishment of eternal separation from a just God.

How much longer can Francis' perversion of the Faith and destruction of the Church continue? It is not easy to "impeach" a pope, but it is possible. The opposition of the "orthodox" seems about to reach the tipping point. God bless those who stand up for the True Faith, and confound the enemies of Holy Mother Church, both without and within... even those at the very top!

VIDEO: Vatican II a "universal dumpster fire": Michael Matt

C'mon, Michael. Don't sugar-coat it! Tell it like it is!

"The Shamazon synod", LOL. The clips from the ultra-modern "masses" are horrifying, simply horrifying. What is wrong with these people (especially the priests) that they think there's anything Catholic about what they're doing?
