You are invited! Pontifical High Mass, Pittsburgh, All Saints Day

Our old friend Michael Matt, editor of The Remnant newspaper, also featured in "Vatican II a 'universal dumpster fire'" and many more videos posted here on WWW, has had a busy month. He's been in Rome, reporting daily on the just-concluded and just dreadful Shamazon Synod. Click here to view "AMAZON: Catholic World Rejects Globalist Synod", 25/10/19, in which he reveals who dumped Pachamama in the Tiber! Now he's back in the good ole Excited States of America and is busy getting ready for the Catholic Identity Conference to be held in Pittsburgh this weekend.

The conference will take an official and public stand against what's happening in Rome. Vaticanista, Diane Montagna, for example, who is enroute from Rome to Pittsburgh right now, will present the very latest on the Amazon Synod during her talk on Saturday afternoon. The CIC is sold out, but it will be available via On-Demand Video Subscription. Mr Matt (and Walt) urge you to support the CIC, by subscribing today.

But wait... there's more! The CIC's Opening Pontifical High Mass will be Celebrated by Bishop Athanasius Schneider on the Feast of All Saints.

The organizers are hoping to pack out the Church of the Precious Blood of Jesus in Pittsburgh for the opening of the Conference. All are welcome! And you never know who (besides Mr Matt) you may meet there. Please spread the word!

Crisis in the Catholic Church coming to a head... as in Head (= Pope)

I am no prophet [We leave that to Poor Len Canayen. Ed.] but, dear Catholic readers, it looks to me as if we may be mere months, or even weeks away, from a revolution in the Roman Catholic Church -- a revolt of the faithful against the leadership into perdition of Pope Francis. By "the faithful", I mean not just traditional Catholics like Michael Matt, but all those who cling to what's left of the True Faith after what Mr Matt rightly calls "universal dumpster fire" that was Vatican II.

The Unholy Father calls those of us who cling to the Faith of Our Fathers, "orthodox Catholics". I'm just as proud to be an "orthodox Catholic" as I am to be a "deplorable". The appellation reminds me of a school cheer I learned in my university daze.
We are the salt of the earth, so give ear to us
No new ideas shall ever come near to us
Orthodox, Catholic, crammed with divinity
Damn the dissenters, hurrah for the Trinity.

But I digress... The news... the sad news... is that, according to a transcript published in the National Catholic Register September 11th, Francis told a plane-full of international reporters on a flight from Madagascar to Rome that if you're an "orthodox" Catholic, he doesn't want you in his church! The Pope (if such he is) is obviously smarting from criticisms from many quarters that he is a heretic and a schismatic, even that is not a valid pope. These denunciations have come from his own Cardinals and bishops, the Curia, the religious press, and devout Catholic laymen like Michael Matt and Christopher Ferrara, not to mention lesser-known traditional Catholics like Yr Obdt Servant.

Francis called such attacks "the criticism of arsenic pills...throwing the stone but hiding the hand." Then he rambled on, denouncing his critics -- he mentioned the late Archbishop Lefebvre by name -- as being "schismatics". Yet it is Francis himself who is not only a heretic, but the true schismatic. The great Jesuit theologian Francisco Suarez wrote (translated): ...the pope could be schismatic, if he were unwilling to be in union and association with the whole body of the Church, as would occur if he attempted to excommunicate the whole Church, or, as both [Cardinal-Theologians] Cajetan and Torquemada observe, if he wished to overturn the rites of the Church established in Apostolic Tradition. (De Charitate, Disputatio XII de Schismate, sectio 1)

Yet that is exactly what Francis has done, in rejecting (along with every pope since Vatican II) the traditional Latin Mass and substituting for it an invalid and heretical Protestant service. Francis is the man who has destroyed the Catholic liturgy, Catholic doctrine, and Catholic morality! The "orthodox" Catholics, those who preach and practise correct doctrine (that's what "orthodox" means -- "correct doctrine") are the true Catholics. Those who don't, like the Unholy Father and his followers, are the true schismatics.

Two of the prelates who Pope Francis would judge to be "orthodox" are Cardinal Raymond Burke and Bishop Athanasius Schneider, both mentioned on WWW before. The National Catholic Register reports their call for a Crusade of Prayer and Fasting, from September 17th to October 26th, for the welfare of the Church. Their plea cites the dangers of "implicit pantheism" in the working document for the upcoming Amazon Synod, and argues against tailoring Catholic ordained ministries to the ancestral customs of the aboriginal people."

Faithful Cardinals, Bishops, priests and laypeople -- 1000s of them -- are righteously indignant over the direction in which Pope Francis is leading Holy Mother Church. He is not the good shepherd, but a false prophet leading us to the edge of the cliff at the bottom of which lies heresy, apostasy and the punishment of eternal separation from a just God.

How much longer can Francis' perversion of the Faith and destruction of the Church continue? It is not easy to "impeach" a pope, but it is possible. The opposition of the "orthodox" seems about to reach the tipping point. God bless those who stand up for the True Faith, and confound the enemies of Holy Mother Church, both without and within... even those at the very top!

VIDEO: Cardinal Burke: The smoke of Satan has entered the Church

In "Vatican attempts to silence tradition-minded Catholic prelates" (WWW 7/11/18) Walt reported on recent attempts by the Vatican Secretariat of State (Peter the Roman, Prop.) to silence Bishop Athanasius Schneider and Cardinal Raymond Burke for daring to speak out against those responsible for today's crisis in the roman Catholic Church. (Hello, Pope Francis!)

Limitations of space prevented me from giving more than a suggestion of what these two prelates had done to deserve (which they didn't!) the Vatican's not-so-subtle warning that they'd better shut up about the apostasy, homosexuality, and heresy rampant today in the highest echelons of Holy Mother Church. What they did was call attention to the poisoned fruits of Vatican II, about which the Blessed Virgin Mary warned us in the Third Secret of Fatima, which was entrusted to Sister Lucia and has yet to be revealed in its entirety by the Vatican, for reasons which are now apparent.

Today Walt is pleased to share an address given by Cardinal Burke on 19 May 2017 at the fourth annual Rome Life Forum, organized by Voice of the Family, and originally posted on LifeSite News. In this talk, the prelate explains what Pope Paul VI meant when, near the end of his papacy, he said, publicly, that "through some fissue, the smoke of Satan has entered the Church". Running time, 32 minutes.

Today, the smoke of Satan is still there, denser and more choking than ever. Two of those who are being choked are Bishop Schneider and Cardinal Burke. Good Catholics, pay attention to what these two prelates are saying, before they are silenced forever. It is up to us, the remnant who cling to the Traditional Faith handed down to us by the Apostles and doctors of the Church from Our Lord Jesus Christ, to do all we can, through prayer and action, to bring about the victory of grace and the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Amen.

Vatican attempts to silence tradition-minded Catholic prelates

Cardinal Raymond Burke and Bishop Athanasius Schneider have been mentioned before on WWW. Both are on Pope Francis' fecal roster for speaking truth to power -- speaking publicly about the crisis in the Roman Catholic Church and promoting a return to traditional Catholicism. See, for example, "'How can we keep the Faith?'" in which Michael Matt introduces Bishop Schneider, one of the principal speakers at last year's Catholic Identity Conference.

Earlier in 2017, Cardinal Burke offered a traditional Pontifical Mass at the Chartres cathedral. And this summer he really crossed the line, offending the "lavender mafia" in the Vatican by giving an interview to Catholic Action in which he decried the "gay culture" in the Church.

The Holy [sic] Father would prefer that the prelates stopped airing the Church's dirty linens in public, so has instructed the Vatican Secretariat of State to take steps to silence them. In his blog Stilum Curiae, Italian journalist Marco Tosatti reports that American bishops have been "advised" by the Secretary of State ("Peter the Roman") not to invite Cardinal Burke to speak in their dioceses.

Bishop Schneider, a star speaker at traditional Catholic gatherings in the USA and elsewhere, has been told not to leave his own country, Kazakhstan -- he is the Auxiliary Bishop of Astana -- without first notifying the Vatican. One doesn't have to think hard to imagine what the Vatican would say upon receiving such notice.

Sgr Tosatti's article is written in Italian. The directives from the Secretariat of State may have been in Latin but more likely were in Italian. My grasp of Italian is pretty tenuous [Si? Ed.] but I can make an educated guess as to what the Vatican is sayingto Bishop Schneider and Cardinal Burke, to wit: "Eh, shadappa you face!"

VIDEO: "How can we keep the Faith?", Michael Matt opens Catholic Identity Conference

Kicking off last weekend's Catholic Identity Conference 2017, MC Michael J. Matt spoke of the present crisis in the Church as one without precedent. He explained why it is worse than the Arian crisis, and how the modern Church has brought this on by reneging on her own claim to be the sole means of salvation. Mr Matt then introduced His Excellency Bishop Athanasius Schneider, this year's CIC honoured guest speaker.

The address by Bishop Schneider and all the talks from the CIC are available on demand at RemnantNewspaper.com. Tell 'em Walt sent you.

"Semi-heretical" prelates leading faithful astray, says Catholic bishop

The Catholic Church is ubiquitous. You could say it's catholic. But is it big-C Catholic any more? Does it still hold and teach the Faith of our Fathers, the traditional Catholic Faith handed down to us through the apostles by Our Lord Himself? Many say not. Many, beginning with Pope Paul VI, say "the smoke of Satan" entered the Church through the window of Vatican II, and that we are now experiencing the Great Apostasy foretold in the Apocalypse.

Many say that those who lead the Church, from Pope Francis on down, are guilty of leading the faithful astray, of teaching and promoting a neo-Catholicism which is at odds with the traditional Faith and therefore heretical. That's the point being made by Michael Matt and Christopher Ferrara in "Luther's Revenge: The Surrender of Pope Francis", the must-see video posted here yesterday.

Messrs Matt and Ferrara are "scary Traditionalists", targets of constant criticism by the likes of Jimmy Akin (see yesterday's post) and Jeff Mirus, neo-Catholic publisher of The Daily Pope (aka Catholic World News), who think that the sun, moon and stars shine out from under the Holy Father's cassock. When Rome speaks, they tell us, we must not only listen, but jump through the hoop which the Pope holds out for us. Thank God for the Protestant Revolt? "Yes, Holy Father!" Stop praying for the conversion of the Jews? "Yes, Holy Father!" And so on, ad nauseam.

Not all Catholics agree. And not all who disagree are dreaded Traditionalists. A Roman Catholic prelate who has serious reservations about the direction in which the Pope and certain Cardinals are leading the Church is Most Reverend Athanasius Schneider, auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Astana, Kazakhstan.

In a wide-ranging interview with Rorate Caeli, he charges that many "semi-heretical" Church leaders are misleading the faithful, and must take responsibility for the crisis of faith evident in the mainstream Catholic Church. Here are some excerpts from the interview; the Bishop's words are in purple.

The very crisis of the Church in our days consists in the ever growing phenomenon that those who don’t fully believe and profess the integrity of the Catholic faith frequently occupy strategic positions in the life of the Church, such as professors of theology, educators in seminaries, religious superiors, parish priests and even bishops and cardinals. And these people with their defective faith profess themselves as being submitted to the Pope. [Hello, Jeff Mirus!]

...The very source of the current crisis in the Church, the crisis of marriage, of the family and of the morality in general is not the liturgical reform, but the defects in faith, the doctrinal relativism, from which flows the moral and liturgical relativism. For, if I believe in a defective manner, I will live a defective moral life and I will worship in a defective, indifferent manner. It is necessary first to restore the clearness and firmness of the doctrine of faith and of morals in all levels and, from there, start to improve the liturgy. The integrity and the beauty of the faith demands the integrity and the beauty of one’s moral life and this demands the integrity and the beauty of the public worship.

Bishop Schneider laments the decision by Pope Francis to allow the washing of women’s feet in Holy Thursday services, saying that the move “generates confusion” regarding the all-male priesthood; he adds that it is “improper and even indecent” for a bishop or priest to wash or kiss a woman’s feet.

Bishop Schneider also speaks of the Society of St. Pius X. He describes Bishop Bernard Fellay, the head of the SSPX as an exemplary and true Catholic bishop.... Those who have fear of the Priestly Society of St. Pius X ultimately have fear of the perennial Catholic truths and of its demands in the moral and the liturgical domain.

When the SSPX tries to believe, to worship and to live morally the way our fore-fathers and the best-known Saints did during a millennial period, then one has to consider the life and the work of these Catholic priests and faithful of the SSPX as a gift for the Church in our days – even as one of the several instruments which the Divine Providence uses to remedy the enormity of the current general crisis of the faith, of the morals and of the liturgy inside the Church.

Although not referring to Traditionalists like Messrs Matt and Ferrara et al. [Hello, John Vennari!] directly, Bishop Schneider had something to say about the right of faithful Catholics to question the pronouncements of their leaders, even the Pope. If the Pope would tell the entire church to do something, which would directly damage an unchangeable Divine truth or a Divine commandment, every Catholic would have the right to correct him in a due respectful form, moved out of reverence and love for the sacred office, and person of the Pope.

I think in a time in which a great part of the holders of the office of the Magisterium are negligent in their sacred duty, the Holy Spirit calls today, namely the faithful, to step into the breach and defend courageously with an authentic sentire cum ecclesia the Catholic Faith.

One can think that the Church in our days is being flagellated as our Lord, is being denuded as was Our Lord, on the tenth Cross station. The Church, our mother, is being bound in cords not only by the enemies of Christ but also by some of their collaborators in the rank of the clergy, even sometimes of the high clergy.

All good children of Mother Church as courageous soldiers we have to try to free this mother – with the spiritual weapons of defending and proclaiming the truth, promoting the traditional liturgy, Eucharistic adoration, the crusade of the Holy Rosary, the battle against the sin in one’s private life and striving for holiness.

We have to pray that the Pope may soon consecrate explicitly Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, then She will win, as the Church prayed since the old times: "Rejoice O Virgin Mary, for thou alone have destroyed all heresies in the whole world."
