VIDEO: Francis in Canada - the Pachamama road show

Today is the feast of Saint James the Great, also known as Santiago Matamoros, the Patron of Spain. In Spain, the temperature this afternoon was in the vicinity of 40 degrees Celsius, with wildfires making much of the country seem even hotter. In Rome, there were no wildfires, and the temperature rose to only 36. One might suspect that Pope Bergoglio travelled to Canada -- he arrived on Sunday -- to beat the heat.

But we mustn't impute motive. The given reason for his "pilgrimage" was to apologize yet again for the role of members of the Catholic Church* in co-operating with the government's "policy of colonialization of Canada's indigenous people" by housing and educating their children in residential schools, for a century ending in the 1950s.

Francis had already grovelled (well, sort of) before a delegation of First Nations and Inuit elders in Rome, four months ago, but that wasn't good enough. Canada's pinko prime minister, Just In Trudeau, pressured the Pope to come in person to engage in a multi-million-dollar publicity stunt against the Church's "abusive, colonialist, and culture-suppressing" missionary activity in Canada. And here he is.

* It must be noted here that it is dogma that Holy Mother Church, founded by Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, cannot err. If Francis had apologized for mistakes or misdeeds of the Church, that would have been the gravest heresy. That's why the text of his apology, delievered just hours ago, must be read very carefully. Here is the key part of what he said. (The emphasis is mine. Walt)

"I am here because the first step of my penitential pilgrimage among you is that of again asking forgiveness, of telling you once more that I am deeply sorry. Sorry for the ways in which, regrettably, many Christians supported the colonizing mentality of the powers that oppressed the Indigenous Peoples. I am sorry. I ask forgiveness, in particular, for the ways in which many members of the church and of religious communities co-operated, not least through their indifference, in projects of cultural destruction and forced assimilation promoted by the governments of that time, which culminated in the system of residential schools.

"Although Christian charity was not absent, and there were many outstanding instances of devotion and care for children, the overall effects of the policies linked to the residential schools were catastrophic. What our Christian faith tells us is that this was a disastrous error, incompatible with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is painful to think of how the firm soil of values, language and culture that made up the authentic identity of your peoples was eroded, and that you have continued to pay the price of this. In the face of this deplorable evil, the church kneels before God and implores his forgiveness for the sins of her children. I myself wish to reaffirm this, with shame and unambiguously. I humbly beg forgiveness for the evil committed by so many Christians against the Indigenous Peoples."

Regular readers will know that I hold no brief for the man who calls himself Pope Francis. But his apology, unlike many of the statements which he makes up as he goes along, seems to me well thought through, appropriate and correct.

Other may take a less charitable view. Our old friend Michael Matt, editor of The Remnant newspaper, has just put together a minidocumentary on the residential schools, which he intends as a blow against woke revisionist history, or -- he puts it more bluntyly -- fake news.

Mr Matt calls the Pope's "pentitential pilgrimage" part of the "Pachamama Road Show", another attempt  to exploit indigenous peoples to push a new Woke Order, the success of which depends on a thoroughly discredited Christian Old World Order. Whether or not you think Francis is doing the right thing -- or trying to -- you should watch this video and consider what's really going on here.

VIDEO: Michael Matt warms of Catholicism being subsumed into the New World Religion

Ed. here. I'm having a hard time getting something worthwhile to fill this space every day, what with the NHL semi-final series between Canada's Team (the MontrĂ©al Canadiens) and the Las Vegaas Golden Knights being in full swing. The series is tied at 1 game each, with Game 3 going at le Centre Bell in MontrĂ©al at 2000 EDT today.

So... Michael Matt to the rescue! We can always count on Mr Matt, editor of The Remnant newspaper, to produce thought-provoking (and passionate!) commentaries on the crises in the Roman Catholic Church and the world at large. (There is no crisis in the US of A. If you doubt that, just read the lickspittle media and see if you can find one.)

In this week's video, Mr Matt asks (and answers) some very pertinent (and impertinent) questions, such as:

What's the connection between the October 2019 Amazon Synod and the global lockdown that took place a couple of months later?
Is there a connection between Traditional Catholicism and the Pope's move to rein in the "rigid" Catholics [That would include Mr Matt and me! Walt] worldwide?

The G7 plan to reset the whole world with the help of the Vatican is no longer just a Republican vs. Democrat issue. So, what is it?
Will a New World Order come with a New World Religion? If so, what happens to Christianity?

Protestant ministers were fighting for a constitutional amendment proclaiming Christ king over a hundred years ago. In 1925, Pope Pius XI proclaimed the doctrine on the Kingship of Christ to the entire world. So, what happened, and is there a connection between the abandonment of the King and the reign of chaos through which we're living today?

With a little help from Bill Maher, Jon Stewart and Eric Clapton, Mr Matt answers all those questions in this riveting video. You'll want to watch every minute!

UPDATED: "Believe It Or Not!" for Catholics

Under the headline "Pope Francis warns Christianity is becoming 'increasingly irrelevant' and targets 'rigid' conservative Catholics for creating a 'minefield' of hatred in Christmas address", the UK Daily Mail reports on another essentially anti-Catholic utterance from the mouth of Jorge Bergoglio, giving traditional Catholics yet another reason to doubt the validity of his election.

The supposed head of the Roman Catholic church spoke today in the Vatican's Apostolic Palace, reminding cardinals, bishops, priests and members of staff that the Church no longer enjoys the authority it once did. "Today we are no longer the only ones that produce culture, no longer the first nor the most listened to," he said. "The faith in Europe and in much of the West is no longer an obvious presumption but is often denied, derided, marginalised and ridiculed."

This year, on Francis' watch, the papacy has been rocked by historical sex abuse claims and financial scandals this year. And the Pope's leadership has been challenged after he called for married men to be ordained as priests, and was seen with the Pachamama, a pagan statue of a pregnant woman ("Mother Earth"?) while in the Amazon.

Walt wonders how these things could have come to pass, if not for the apparent derangement of he who sits in the Chair of Peter. But alas, there is no impeachment process in the Catholic Church. Only God can take the necessary corrective action, for which let us pray.

FURTHER READING, added 22/12/19: "Pope Francis's Hermeneutic of Anti-Continuity", by Peter Kwasniewski, in The Remnant newspaper, 22/12/19. Devastating commentary on the massive scandal of Francis' Christmas address of December 21 (the traditional feast of the doubting Thomas the Apostle). Could anyone need more evidence that the Church is being ruled by someone who is barely, or not at all, Catholic? He wouldn’t even make a good Muslim!

VIDEO: Catholic priest burns effigy of Pachamama

Traditional Catholics, who try to keep the Faith of our fathers, were pleased this past weekend to see a Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Mexico City burning effigies of the pagan "Pachamama" statues, while leading the faithful in prayer to atone for the sin of worshipping the statues during the recently concluded Amazon Synod at the Vatican. Here's the video, originally posted on LifeSite News.

Father Hugo Valdemar stands outside a Church dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe, while flames leaped out of a metal fireplace on top of a table covered with a white cloth. He stands next to an altar-boy holding an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The priest was also flanked by an icon of Saint Michael the Archangel, to whom we pray earnestly, now more than ever, to protect us in the day of battle and deliver Holy Mother Church from her enemies, without and (especially) within.

"The most blessed Virgin of Guadalupe", Father Hugo says, "is a young woman who is pregnant. She has Jesus in her womb, who is to give birth to the new continent [the new world]. She says that she comes to grant her love to all the inhabitants of this entire continent (not just Mexico). She is pregnant and carries Jesus who will bring us the Gospel and drive away the darkness of idolatry and the devil."

The priest then picks up one of the Pachamama effigies and, holding it next to the image of Our Lady, explains the difference between the two.

"A friend exorcist says that this idol [Pachamama] is actually the figure of the Antichrist. It is a blasphemy and parody of Mary. Pachamama is pregnant but carries the Antichrist to give birth to him in the Masonic church, to destroy the sacraments, which is to return to idolatry and superstition. So, this Antichrist who is to give birth to a church with an 'Amazonian face' is an abomination, it is a contradiction to Church doctrine, which is the dynamic into which these idolaters want to enter now.

"So, in sign of repugnance to the offences that they made to the most Blessed Virgin Mary in Rome, in Her Church of Transpontina, we, as a protest and as a sign of reparation, burn this satanic idol of the Pachamama."

Father Hugo then drops the Pachamama into the fire, where it was consumed. Two more effigies were later burned. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ, and to your Blessed Mother.

You are invited! Pontifical High Mass, Pittsburgh, All Saints Day

Our old friend Michael Matt, editor of The Remnant newspaper, also featured in "Vatican II a 'universal dumpster fire'" and many more videos posted here on WWW, has had a busy month. He's been in Rome, reporting daily on the just-concluded and just dreadful Shamazon Synod. Click here to view "AMAZON: Catholic World Rejects Globalist Synod", 25/10/19, in which he reveals who dumped Pachamama in the Tiber! Now he's back in the good ole Excited States of America and is busy getting ready for the Catholic Identity Conference to be held in Pittsburgh this weekend.

The conference will take an official and public stand against what's happening in Rome. Vaticanista, Diane Montagna, for example, who is enroute from Rome to Pittsburgh right now, will present the very latest on the Amazon Synod during her talk on Saturday afternoon. The CIC is sold out, but it will be available via On-Demand Video Subscription. Mr Matt (and Walt) urge you to support the CIC, by subscribing today.

But wait... there's more! The CIC's Opening Pontifical High Mass will be Celebrated by Bishop Athanasius Schneider on the Feast of All Saints.

The organizers are hoping to pack out the Church of the Precious Blood of Jesus in Pittsburgh for the opening of the Conference. All are welcome! And you never know who (besides Mr Matt) you may meet there. Please spread the word!
