What does "the end of woke" look like?

Yes, seriously. This is the reality of the new Golden Age of America. What?! You do not believe?! Consider this...

A memo from defense secretary Pete Hegseth, filed in court yestereday, says that  the US military will no longer allow trannies transgender individuals to join the armed forces and will stop performing or facilitating :procedures associated with gender transition" for service members.

The memo comes after President Trump signed an executive order in January that took aim at transgender troops in a personal way, saying that a man identifying as a woman was "not consistent with the humility and selflessness required of a service member."

In his memo, Secretary Hegseth cited the President's EO, thus: "As the president clearly stated, expressing a false 'gender identity' divergent from an individual's sex cannot satisfy the rigorous standards necessary for military service."

Therefore, "All unscheduled, scheduled, or planned medical procedures associated with affirming or facilitating a gender transition for service members are paused.... 

"The department must ensure it is building 'one force' without subgroups defined by anything other than ability or mission adherence. Efforts to split our troops along lines of identity weaken our force and make us vulnerable. Such efforts must not be tolerated or accommodated."

"Me want skool!" is good enough for the Toronto District School Board

The Toronto District School Board (hereinafter "TDSB") is the wokest in the fairyland of Canuckistan. And in a country which includes such hotbeds of wokeism as the Waterloo Region District School Board which forbids any discussion of gender ideology, pronouns or sex change operations * [Isn't there a more PC name for that? Ed.], that's really saying something.

The TDSB is not only the wokest in the land, but the biggest. Its catchment area encompasses numerous "ethnic" neighbourhoods, including Little India, the notorious Jane-Finch `hood, and a part of Scarborough which, to look at it, is majority Chinese... and so it is.

The ultra-progressive TDSB is all in favour of DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) of course. As Mr Socks sez, "Diversity is our strength!" (Cue guffaws from most Canadians. See "Shocking news: Majority of Canucks think diversity is causing problems!", WWW 25/11/23. To serve various diverse sections of the community, the Board has established several dozen Central Student Interest Programmes (CSIP), both at the secondary (opens in a new tab)and elementary (opens in a new tab)level, including those specializing in arts, athletics, science, math and many others. 

But it seems some groups need a little more equity than others. According to the TDSB website, 20% per cent of the spaces in CSIP are reserved for students who are Black, Indigenous, Latin American and Middle Eastern, while 50% cent of the spaces in math, science and technology programmes are for students self-identifying as female.

That doesn't sit well with the Chinese community (or the south Asians, for that matter), who, along with the "old stock Canadians" (read: palefaces), are regarded as "privileged", thus not deserving of extra help. Trustee Weidong Pei of Ward 12, Willowdale, told CTV News Toronto the policy doesn't address the socio-economic barriers standing in the way of enriched education, but instead creates more division in schools and waters down talent. 

What to do? The performance-based process of entry, which had been criticized for "favouring students from wealthier families" (read: racist!) had to go. So, in 2022, the Board trustees voted to move away from a model that only accepts those with demonstrated strength and/or ability, by removing all tests, exams, auditions and grade-entry requirements from CSIP applications.

In came the new, woker, "interest-based model", which is now "under review". Trustee James Li of Ward 13, Don Valley North,  told CTV, "When we implemented the program in 2023, we didn't ask the students to prove or demonstrate anything. We only asked the students to write their name down, which was disappointing." Now, he continued, "We expect them to demonstrate that they're interested in [an enriched programme] to the point where they want to go above and beyond the curriculum, and they're ready and willing to work towards it.”

Mr Pei calls the expression of interest requirement "meaningless". "The formal expression of interest is not being evaluated. An entry consisting of 'Me want skool' is given the same weight as a student filming themselves playing 'Flight of the Bumblebee' on the tuba!

"Everybody I know, including me, is concerned about socio-economic barriers, but the policies don’t adjust for socio-economics, they use self-identified race as a proxy for socio-economics. The average Asian family's income at TDSB is below the overall average of TDSB families, and South Asians' incomes are even lower. Yet Asian families are considered a privileged group."

Ah so... but Messrs Pei and Li should know that in Emperor Justin's Canada, affirmative action (read: reverse racism) is the New Equity. So let it be preached. So let it be done.

Ukrainian trannies ordered to stay and fight as men

You can call yourself "transgender" if you want, and dress up like a drag queen if you want, but if you've got a cubic pubic between your legs, you're still a man... as far as the Ukrainian government is concerned. 

In what has become a controversial move by Ukrainian authorities, transgender "women" are being denied from leaving the country because their passport indicates they are not women, but men!

Radio Gold reports that Ukrainian female wannabes say they are "totally stuck" and "scared for their lives" in the country because their passport states that they are "men". 

As they clutched their feather boas, two Ukrainian trans women said they can't join the "women and children first" fleeing the Russian invasion, because all of their ID documents say "male". And... horror of horrors... their papers mention their "old masculine names", and use those pesky old masculine pronounes!

Some "gay rights" groups have started advising trans "women" to lose their ID, in order to get out of Ukraine. LGBTQ2SXYZetc activists estimate this issue is leading to "hundreds" of trans people in Ukraine being left in "serious danger" and feeling "completely alone."

One trans woman said she is "terrified" of being stopped trying to leave Ukraine and having to submit to short arms inspection, which would reveal that xi [Is that the right pronoun? Ed.] which would reveal xer manlihood, after which xi would be forced to join the Ukrainian army.

Another Ukrainian trannie is the only person left in her neighbourhood, xi says through xer tears, because xi's scared to leave her accommodation for fear of transphobic attacks. 

The real gender divide cuts both ways. One trans "man", who transitioned over six years ago and has lived as a man in Ukraine since, only has an ID which labels xim "female". He told VICE World News [That's its name? Seriously? Ed.] about xis fears of leaving his house and trying to make it across Ukraine. During a phone call, screaming and explosions were heard coming from outside xis accommodation, but xe still refused to leave because of his ID issue.

VIDEO: "Gotcha!" - Jordan Peterson ties feminist SJW in knots

Just two months ago, in "Hitler reacts to Canuck grad student thought crimes" (WWW 25/11/17 - includes hilarious video!) Walt introduced you to Professor Jordan Peterson, one of Canada’s most brilliant, courageous, and rigorous academics. Prof Peterson became a hero to conservatives and free speech advocates by declaring his refusal to use those stupid "transgender pronouns" -- "ze", "zer", "zis" etc -- or to speak words others insisted he speak.

Before the kerfuffle about Lindsay Shepherd'd censure by Wilfrid Laurier University for daring to show a portion of a debate featuring Prof Peterson to a class of impressionable university students (see post), Prof Peterson had himself been "urged" by his employer, the University of Toronto, to "stop making" remarks that would cause discomfort or offence to "transgenders" (read: transsexuals) or snowflakes of any kind.

The "pronoun wars", as they have become known, brought Professor Peterson to prominence. The over-the-top reaction to his standing up for free speech has given him an audience of millions and kept copies of his new book 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos, near the top of best-seller lists the world over.

Earlier this month, while on the obligatory book tour, Professor Peterson submitted to a half-hour interview on Britain's Channel 4 in which he faced Cathy Newman, a very hostile feminist of the alt-left persuasion. on Britain’s Channel Four. Without getting as hysterically argumentative as his interlocutor, the professor answered her snide remarks and barbed questions on "gender equality", the male-female pay gap, our supposedly patriarchal society, and, inevitably, his alleged "transphobia".

The climax came at about the 23-minute mark, when Prof Peterson calmly countered her question as to why his right to freedom of speech should trump her "right not to be offended". His answer left the angry lady literally speechless. During the painful pause which followed, the professor exclaimed (quietly), "Ha! Gotcha!"

You can fast forward to the fun part if you like, but Walt recommends watching the whole thing -- twice -- for a clear presentation of what's wrong with all the loony feminist claptrap that you hear everywhere (Step forward, Oprah and the wimmin on The View!) these days. If you have to spend more than 30 seconds in conversation with one of these raging feminists, make a few mental notes, so you can get her (or "zer"...whatever) to STFU without actually saying that!

Let me set this up for you. [Or you can go straight to the video. It's not hard to figure out what it's all about. Ed.] There's been quite a kerfuffle in the World's Most Diverse, Inclusive and (above all) Liberal Democracy (= the Great No-longer-white North) over a TV debate on the issues of "transgender pronouns" -- "ze", "zer", "zis" etc -- and compelled speech.

Lindsay Shepherd, a graduate student in communications (!) at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo ON, showed a discussion group a video extract of a debate between Jordan Peterson, one of Canada’s most brilliant, courageous, and rigorous academics, and transgender advocate Nicholas Matte, both of whom are professors at the University of Toronto. For the heinous offence of presenting both sides of a current public controversy, Ms Shepherd was the subject of complaint, official harassment, and a disgustingly biased kangaroo court at which she was told, in no uncertain terms, that it was "inappropriate" to expose naïve university students to the utterances of people like Prof. Peterson -- racists, sexists, homophobes, fascists, the whole lot of them!

Indeed the actual words "racism", "white supremacist" and, yes, "Hitler" were used by Ms Shepherd's accusers to indicate the seriousness of her alleged transgression. You can see where we're going with this, EH. The antifa bullies managed to reduce Ms Shepherd to tears. Fortunately, she remained composed enough to keep recording the entire "hearing". After about a week, she released the tape to the media, which gave it wide and sympathetic play, and, somewhat surprisingly, took the side of Ms Shepherd... and free speech.

Conrad Black wrote in the National Post: "Once the rock was lifted on this process and the force of public opinion could be detected, the WLU leadership wobbled and crumpled in a familiar display of instant capitulation by university administrations at the first indication of headwinds. It appears to be the modus operandi of that university in particular to surrender at once to any adversity, but it is satisfying that the university at least caved in the right direction this time, to a justly aggrieved complainant and not to the totalitarian spirit of those who arraigned her."

One of the WLU disciplinarians, Prof. Nathan Rambukkana, issued a public apology to Ms Shepherd last Monday, and WLU President and Vice-Chancellor Deborah MacLatchy followed along with her own act of contrition a day later, telling the CBC that the university regrets how the meeting between Ms Shepherd and her professors was conducted. "The issue was how — the format of — the meeting [that] was held and the discussion that went on about a question that had happened in the tutorial," she said, adding that she was "shocked" [not "shocked, SHOCKED!"? Ed.] at how Ms Shepherd was treated.

Vice-Chancellor MacLatchy went on to say that WLU is... wait for it... putting together a task force to provide an updated statement on how it should handle a situation like this. It has also launched a third-party investigation. What does Ms Shepherd have to say about this? In an interview with CBC News last Wednesday, she said she's glad Prof. Rambukkana and Ms MacLatchy have apologized, but doesn't think they had any other option. Indeed. And now to the video.
