Your Singhs today (Greater Toronto edition)

American readers are forgiven for not being able to locate Brampton ON -- the locus of the criminal activity described in "Brampton man charged with 3 counts of kidnapping and sexual assault", WWW 27/11/24. You-all can stop reading now.

Most Canadian readers, or at least those in southern Ontario, will know Brampton (and Mississauga to the south) as the New Khalistan (formerly known as the Region of Peel), one of two Canadian municipalities occupied and dominated by members of the Sikh faith community.

The principal educational institution in this ghetto -- for that's what it is -- is the infamous Singh School of Truck Driving, whose graduates terrorize motorists on highways across Canada, especially Highway 401, the longest superhighway within a single state in the whole world. [Thank you. I did not know that! Ed.]

Yep, those Sikhs are just driving devils. The big rigs they [??? not "drive"? Ed.] frequently carry drugs across the World's Longest Undefended Border, which is one reason why President Trump now threatens to impose heavy tariffs on Canadian goods, unless the government of Blackie McBlackface does  something right sharpish to plug up the holes in said border.

The men in the holy underpants are also implicated in the sharp spike in car thefts in the so-called Greater Toronto. Cars and trucks stolen in the GTA quickly find their way to Montréal where they are stuffed into containers and shipped to Nigeria, Morocco, Ghana, and... did I mention Nigeria?

Two of the thieves were caught red-handed... or "red-wheeled" or whatever, yesterday morning. According to a press release from the Peel Region coppers, they arrested and charged two suspects after a short chase in Mississauga on Wednesday morning. Officers from 12 Division Community Incident Response Team (CIRT) located a stolen Lexus NX 350 near the Goreway Drive and Brandon Gate Drive area.

Officers said they were able to stop the suspects from escaping in the reportedly stolen SUV, but police cruisers were damaged as a result. The suspects then ran and were caught after a short foot chase, police said. Bhawanjeet Singh, 23, and Gurdeep Singh, 28, were both arrested on scene and charged with a combined total of 10 criminal offences related to drugs, weapon possession and stolen property,

Bhawanjeet Singh, a 23-year-old of "no fixed address" [read: a couch surfer. Ed.], has been charged with the following offences:
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Mischief over $5000
- Possession of Property obtained by crime
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Gurdeep Singh, a 28-year-old couch surfer, has been charged with the following offences:
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Mischief over $5000
- Possession of Property obtained by crime
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a controlled substance
- Breach of Release order (meaning he was out on bail).

Both accused were held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

The press release does not say anything about what the Sikhs were doing in Canada, other than committing crimes. Walt's agent on the scene suspects they were in the country on student visas, for studies at... guess where!

Judge Judy blames liberal prosecutors for skyrocketing crime rate

The following is an edited version of an article published by the (UK) Daily Mail

In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Judge Judy (Sheindlin) blamed liberal district attorneys for leaving America's cities "ruined", and said they would be better employed "filling ice-cream cones."

The veteran reality TV star, known for making rough the path of the wicked, said the country is in worse shape than it was when her popular programme started 30 years ago because "a small group of people who have very loud voices created a scenario where bad people got rewarded."

And she lashed out at a culture that increasingly excuses people's behaviour on the basis of their background. "I know how we got here," she said. "When society started to make excuses for bad behaviour, and react to criminality based upon the excuses, it fell apart."

Judge Judy spoke out after Multnomah County (OR) DA Mike Schmidt became the latest liberal prosecutor elected in the wake of the Black Lives Matter scam to lose his bid for re-election. "When you have district attorneys who are charged, whose job it is to do justice, but to keep the community safe, when you have elected district attorneys who don't know what their job is, they should go find another job," said the judge. "'Fill ice cream cones someplace, but don't ruin cities."

She added, "And what's happened around New York City, Portland, San Francisco, you had district attorneys who didn't know what their job was. And the cities are ruined, people are leaving."

So far this year, robberies are up 5.2% in the Big Apple, while recorded hate crimes have jumped 11% per cent. In Portland, larceny offenses jumped to more than 26,000 in the year to April, while arrests for prostitution more than doubled amid an ongoing drugs and homelessness crisis.

Meanwhile, in the District of Columia, homicides jumped by 35% while robberies were up 67%. In San Francisco, DA Chesa Boudin lost his job in a 2022 recall election after securing just three -- count `em, 3 -- drug convictions the previous year.

Judge Sheindlin lashed out at the state of New York's 2019 decision to raise the minimum age at which a suspect can be tried as an adult to 18, branding it "ridiculous... If you have family, if you have a mother who's 65 years old who's walking to the grocery store and some crazy for no reason hits her over the head with a steel pipe and kills her, and they're 17, that person should never be allowed to walk the street again, because society can't take a chance.

"If I wouldn't take a chance on him living next to me why would I take a chance on him living next to you? You're just as dead as somebody 18 kills you, or 17. And if you're 17 years old and kill somebody, you don't belong with kids who are 12, in a juvenile facility. But a very small group of people pushed through in New York State, for instance, raising the level of criminal responsibility."

The explanations for why a person becomes a criminal should never be confused with excuses, she said. "You know there is always a reason for criminal behaviour.

"Didn't have a good upbringing, didn't have two parents in the house, didn't have one parent in the house, there's always a reason. You're mentally ill. That's a reason. You took drugs, that's a reason. You took alcohol, your brain is fried, whatever it is. There is never an excuse for bad behaviour."

Judge Judy also reflected on how the situation has deteriorated since she began her TV career. "Here we are, 30 years later, and are we in a worse shape as a country, as a world, than we were in 1993? You bet your bottom we are. I think we better get smarter before we get lost," she added. "Permanently lost."

"Project 24K" proves Greater Toronto a really multicultural city

Today, 17 April 2024, is the first anniversary of the Great YYZ Gold Heist. (Regular readers will know that YYZ is the airport code for Toronto's Pearson airport.) This was the largest theft of gold in Canadian history, and possibly the sixth-largest in the history of the world. Here's a CCTV image of (police say) the robbery in progress.

According to the Peel Regional Police, the take was 6,600 gold bars, valued at over C$20 million ($14.5 million in real money) and roughlyC$2.5 million in folding money. The gold and currency was ordered from a refinery in Zurich, Switzerland, then transported in a container through an Air Canada flight that landed at YYZ at 1556.EDT.

The cargo was then offloaded to an Air Canada cargo facility, where, a couple of hours later, a suspect arrived at the facility with a "fraudulent airway bill...for a legitimate shipment of seafood that was picked up the day before." A police spokesthingy told the meeja today, "This duplicate airway bill was printed off from a printer within an Air Canada cargo facility."

Shortly thereafter, a forklift arrived with a container of gold and foreign currency and was loaded into the rear of the suspect’s truck. He then hauled ass with the haul. [You're not quoting the copper, right? Ed.] Almost six hours after the plane landed, Brink’s Canada employees arrived at the Air Canada cargo site to collect up the shipment of gold and currency, only to be told it had already been picked up. Everyone had a good think overnight, and called the cops the next morning.

An investigation dubbed "Project 24K" was launched right away... kind of... and has now identified nine suspects, who have been arrested, charged or had Canada-wide warrants issued against them. Let's see who they are.

Durante King-Mclean, a 25-year-old resident of Brampton ON, has been identified as the driver who allegedly stole the cargo from the airport. It was his bad luck to be stopped last September by a Pennsylvania state trooper, who found dozens of illegal firearms inside his rented car.

Police say the driver ran away but was arrested shortly after. He appeared to be illegally in the United States, and when they checked him on the police database, it flagged him as wanted by Peel police.

When troopers opened the Nissan’s trunk, they didn’t find gold bars, but 65 guns instead, that were destined to be smuggled into Canada, according to an indictment filed in the US of A. Besides the guns, American investigators found messages between King-Mclean and Prasath Paramalingam, 35, another Bramptonian. Paramalingam sent King-Mclean a photograph of large amounts of Canadian currency wrapped in stacks with rubber bands.

Paramalingam and another unnamed person from Toronto flew from Toronto to New York City to deliver money to King-Mclean. Five days later, Paramalingam flew back to Toronto via Miami. King-Mclean stayed in Fort Lauderdale, where he allegedly took several photos of guns and large amounts of real money. He left Florida in August 2023 in a rental vehicle and drove north. That's when he was stopped just outside Washington DC by Pennsylvania state troopers.

In today's presser, Peel police named nine people identified and/or charged as a result of  Project 24K. Arrested in Canada were:
Parmpal Sidhu, 54, of Brampton [Again? Ed.] who was named as an Air Canada employee. He is charged with theft over $5,000 and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence;
Amit Jalota, 40, from Oakville, charged with possession of property obtained by crime, theft over $5,000, and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence;
Ammad Chaudhary, 43, from Georgetown, charged with accessory after the fact;
Ali Raza, a 37-year-old jewelry store owner from Toronto, charged with possession of property obtained by crime; and
Prasath Paramalingam, charged with accessory after the fact.

Durante King-Mclean, the alleged getaway driver, is formally listed as wanted by Peel police, although he is in custody in the United States.

Peel police are also searching for:
Simran Preet Panesar, a 31-year-old Brampton man who was an Air Canada employee at the time of the theft but resigned after the heist. He is wanted for theft over $5,000 and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.

Archit Grover
, 36, from Brampton, pictured at right [Sorry, Walt, this is the only photo I could find. Ed.] is considered a fugitive in Canada and the United States. In Canada. He is wanted for theft over $5,000 and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence. In the US. he is accused of helping King-Mclean after his roadside arrest and hindering the investigation, including removing possible evidence from the Floridea Airbnb where King-Mclean stayed, and arranging a $1000 payment to the car rental agency for an amended rental agreement.

Arsalan Chaudhary, 42, from Mississauga, wanted for theft over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime and conspiracy to commit and indictable offence.

Reading through that list of names, Walt is struck by the apparent ethnicity of the suspects. Not an Irishman among them! With the exception of "Jimmy" Durante King-Mclean, they all appear to be... errr... south Asian. Paramalingam is a Lankan name. The rest are probably Indians, some of them Sikhs. By their turbans ye shall know them, and large numbers of them work in and around Pearson Airport.

I mention this because I'm reminded of Project Kraken, about which I wrote in "'Project Kraken' proves Greater Toronto a really multicultural city", WWW 29/6/19 -- one of our most-read articles. Project Kraken had to do with drugs and guns. I've asked Ed. to find out if any of the same names appear in the list of those charged in that case, but he hasn't got back to me yet. [Don't hold your breath. Our readers got the point already. Ed.]

Victor Davis Hanson on the sad state of America's cities... and society

Victor Davis Hanson is an American classicist, military historian, and political commentator. He has been a commentator on modern and ancient warfare and contemporary politics for the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, National Review, The Washington Times and other media outlets. His clear thinking has been reposted on WWW; plug his name into the search window to find earlier posts.

Yesterday, Mr Hanson's latest thoughts on the decline and fall of the Disunited States of America were published on the American Greatness website under the headline "America’s Decline?". Subhead: The remedies are agreed upon, but the needed medicine is feared more than the disease. Because today, the government is the cause of our many crises. Here's the first part of his commentary.

Now with the election of Joe Biden, what had been a fast-tracked decline has accelerated at such an astonishing rate we can scarcely recognize our country.

Our largest cities are becoming uninhabitable—dilapidated, dangerous, and dysfunctional. The challenge is not just rampant crime, but the realization that if you, the citizen, are stabbed, shot, or beaten up on the street, the perpetrators may well be exempt from most punishments. And the victim either will be forgotten in his misery or, indeed, blamed for bringing such violence upon himself.

Urban schools are not places of instruction anymore. That fact is accepted by teachers’ unions, whose operative principle seems to be that the more hopeless the idea of educating urban youth is understood to be, the less burdensome the workload, and the greater their hazardous duty pay.

Urban chain stores are closing down on the principle that if police cannot or will not stop consumer violence and theft, then consumers there should not have any store to buy anything, anyway. If there is no store, how can it be looted or shop-lifted? [That's called "reparations shopping"! Ed.]

The only mystery remaining is how long these Democrat-controlled, racially charged, and corrupt municipalities can sustain their budgets and pension commitments with increasingly declining revenue. One can tax the well off, and perhaps even gouge them as California does. But one cannot insult and ridicule them in the process. Being highly taxed is one thing, being highly taxed while hated is quite another.

How eerie that medievalism—defecting, urinating, fornicating, injecting in the street—is relabeled “homelessness—as if the problem is merely a shortage of apartments or tent cities. Somehow cities developed the notion that it was crueler to be told not to pull down one’s pants and defecate in the street than it was for a pedestrian to step into infectious human excrement.

In the next five years, either cities will seek new governance to reduce taxes, break up municipal unions, mandate charter schools, restore police funding and manpower, recalibrate pensions, and prosecute criminals and corrupt officials—or Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Minneapolis, and a score of others will become Detroit. [And let's not forget Chicago! Ed.]

One of the strangest phenomena amid our current debility are the millions of affluent leftists and liberals who have fled their unworkable, now unlivable blue-run, but naturally beautiful cities like San Francisco or Portland. They seem to lack an abstract recognition why they are leaving, or why and how their new chosen destinations are so different and therefore so inviting to them. Is their motto, “I am fleeing what I created, but I still hate those who created what I want”?

Mr Hanson is not one to post a jeremiad without suggesting some solutions, and he does so in the latter part of this article. Click here to read the whole thing. But will Mr Hanson's sensible solutions be enacted? Walt says there are two chances... slim and none!

Fancy that! Minneapolis ordered to hire more cops

Ready for an I-told-ya-so story? In the wake of the death of Saint George Floyd (convicted felon and druggie) and the ensuing conviction of Derek Chavin and three other Minneapolis police officers, more than 200 other cops quit, retired, or took extended leave from the Minneapolis police department.

That wasn't enough for the BLM and SJWs, who demanded that the city cut – and even completely dismantle – its police department. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (Democrat) refused to cancel the copos entirely, but did OK a shift of about $8 million in funding to "violence prevention and mental health crisis response teams." He also proposed a further budget cut of $17 million for 2021.

Well, guess what? As of this past May, homicides in Minneapolis had doubled over the same time frame in 2020. Gun thefts from vehicles had risen by more than 100%, while illegal gun seizures had dropped. Surprise, surprise!  Residents from some minority communities [Hey, don't be afraid to call a spade a spade! Ed.] even began showing up at city council meetings demanding to know why police officers weren't responding to calls and helping stop the violent criminals rampaging through their neighbourhoods.

All this was too much for eight denizens of the City of Lakes, who sued the city for not retaining enough officers on their payroll to meet local requirements. (According to a local ordinance, the city must employ at least 0.0017 sworn officers for every 1000 city residents.)

Hennepin County District Judge Jamie L. Anderson agreed, and ordered the city to employ at least 730 police officers by the end of next June. That number could be increased further, if the results of the 2020 census show an increase in the population of the metropolitan area.

Does anyone not see the irony in this? Newton's Third Law applies to more than physics! Told ya so!

10 radical new rules that are changing America

Note from Ed.: We rarely repost entire columns from other sources, but this one, by Victor Davis Hanson, is so cogent, so urgent, that it deserves to be read in full. This appeared in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, 3/4/21

There are 10 new ideas that are changing America, maybe permanently.

1) Money is a construct. It can be created from thin air. Annual deficits and aggregate national debt no longer matter much. Prior presidents ran up huge annual deficits, but at least there were some concessions that the money was real and had to be paid back. Not now.

As we near $30 trillion in national debt and 110 percent of annual GDP, our elites either believe permanent zero interest rates make the cascading obligation irrelevant, or the larger the debt, the more likely we will be forced to address needed income redistribution.

2) Laws are not necessarily binding anymore. Joe Biden took an oath to "take care that the laws be faithfully executed." But he has willfully rendered federal immigration laws null and void. Some rioters are prosecuted for violating federal laws, others not so much. Arrests, prosecutions and trials are all fluid. Ideology governs when a law is still considered a law.

Crime rates do not necessarily matter. If someone is carjacked, assaulted or shot, it can be understood to be as much the victim's fault as the perpetrator's. Either the victim was too lax, uncaring and insensitive, or he provoked his attacker. How useful the crime is to the larger agendas of the left determines whether a victim is really a victim, and the victimizer really a victimizer.

3) Racialism is now acceptable. We are defined first by our ethnicity or religion, and only secondarily — if at all — by an American commonality. The explicit exclusion of whites from college dorms, safe spaces and federal aid programs is now noncontroversial. It is unspoken payback for perceived past sins, or a type of "good" racism. Falsely being called a racist makes one more guilty than falsely calling someone else a racist.

4) The immigrant is mostly preferable to the citizen. The newcomer, unlike the host, is not stained by the sins of America's founding and history. Most citizens currently must follow quarantine rules and social distancing, stay out of school and obey all the laws.

Yet those entering the United States illegally need not follow such apparently superfluous COVID-19 rules. Their children should be immediately schooled without worry of quarantine. Immigrants need not worry about their illegal entry or residence in America. Our elites believe illegal entrants more closely resemble the "founders" than do legal citizens, about half of whom they consider irredeemable.

5) Most Americans should be treated as we would treat little children. They cannot be asked to provide an ID to vote. "Noble lies" by our elites about COVID-19 rules are necessary to protect "Neanderthals" from themselves.

Americans deserve relief from the stress of grades, standardized testing and normative rules of school behavior. They still are clueless about why it is good for them to pay far more for their gasoline, heating and air conditioning.

6) Hypocrisy is passe. Virtue-signaling is alive. Climate change activists fly on private jets. Social justice warriors live in gated communities. Multibillionaire elitists pose as victims of sexism, racism and homophobia. The elite need these exemptions to help the helpless. It is what you say to lesser others about how to live, not how you yourself live, that matters.

7) Ignoring or perpetuating homelessness is preferable to ending it. It is more humane to let thousands of homeless people live, eat, defecate and use drugs on public streets and sidewalks than it is to green-light affordable housing, mandate hospitalization for the mentally ill and create sufficient public shelter areas.

8) McCarthyism is good. Destroying lives and careers for incorrect thoughts saves more lives and careers. Cancel culture and the Twitter Reign of Terror provide needed deterrence. Now that Americans know they are one wrong word, act or look away from losing their livelihoods, they are more careful and will behave in a more enlightened fashion. The social media guillotine is the humane, scientific tool of the woke.

9) Ignorance is preferable to knowledge. Neither statue-toppling, nor name-changing, nor the 1619 Project requires any evidence or historical knowledge. Heroes of the past were simple constructs. Undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees reflect credentials, not knowledge. The brand, not what created it, is all that matters.

10) Wokeness is the new religion, growing faster and larger than Christianity. Its priesthood outnumbers the clergy and exercises far more power. Silicon Valley is the new Vatican, and Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Google and Twitter are the new gospels.

Americans privately fear these rules while publicly appearing to accept them. They still could be transitory and invite a reaction. Or they are already near-permanent and institutionalized. The answer determines whether a constitutional republic continues as once envisioned or warps into something never imagined by those who created it.

"Project Kraken" proves Greater Toronto a really multicultural city

The Toronto Police Service [sic] (not exactly as pictured) assisted by forces from around the Greater Toronto [sic] Area, had a busy time in the pre-dawn hours of Thursday morning.

Following an eigh-month-long investigation -- dubbed "Project Kraken" -- into drugs and guns in the GTA, the boys in black did what they love to do -- dress up like soldiers and break into people's houses and apartments. The raids resulted in the arrest of 55 people. Add in 18 previously arrested for a total of 73, now charged with a grand total of 599 offences.

Who are these people (I hear you ask)? Where did they come from? Are they "old-stock Canadians", or perhaps "new Canadians" imported from the shitholes of the Caribbean, the Middle East and Africa. Inspector Knacker does not keep (or, perhaps, disclose) details of race, religion, or citizenship status. All we can do is peruse the list of names, as released by the TPS, and take an educated guess. Click on the link if you want to see details of who's charged with what. Don't expect any surprises.

Errr... that's it. Don't be telling me it's all those damn Muslim refugees. I only counted 3 Mohammeds and a couple of Abduls. The others are a real mixed bag, a fine fine example of the inclusivity and multiculturalism that makes "Greater Toronto" what it is today. "Diversity is our strength!" (copyright, J. Trudeau)

VIDEOS: Robber splits after storekeeper hits him with bananas

This is not a promo for CBC's egregiously unfunny sitcom Kim's Convenience. This is real footage of an attempted robbery which occurred Saturday evening at a convenience store in Mississauga ON. The holdup was foiled when the wife of the storeowner -- a Korean, surprisingly enough -- hit the would-be thief -- possibly white, possibly not -- with a bunch of bananas, forcing him to flee.

CTV's Nick Dixon [Really? Not "Dick" Dixon? Ed.] has the story.

The storeowners were unhurt. The would-be thief may, like the bananas, have a couple of bruises. Inspector Knacker of the Peel Police [not making this up. Ed.] said the intruder did not have a gun, but warned retail workers not to confront suspects as, you never know, they could be armed with a gun... or maybe a banana of their own. What do you do then?! John Cleese and the Monty Python group demonstrate the proper technique for dealing with such a situation.

"Prophets" use dwarf to con credulous African man out of $7000

Note from Ed.: Walt still hasn't been heard from, but I hate to leave this space empty on Superbowl Sunday, when some of our readers will undoubtedly be looking for alt-entertainment. So here's a true story from Zimbabwe, in the southern part of Darkest Africa. Some people who live there, like our old friend Dr CZ, admit that it's a shithole. (Not that it's the only one.) But others say that under its new dictator, Zimbabwe is a modern, progressive democracy, full of educated and industrious people, with a prosperous future ahead of it, once they get past some old customs and superstitions. Like the belief in witchcraft, illustrated by this account from today's Zimbabwe Standard.

Three suspected fake prophets allegedly brought a midget to a family in Emakhandeni, Bulawayo and lied to the family that the dwarf was the goblin which was responsible for their son's mental illness. The con artists convinced the family to part with $7000 to cleanse the boy. This case was brought before the courts following the arrest of one of the conmen and was heard by Bulawayo magistrate Nyaradzo Ringisayi. Godfrey Manyoka (30) was being charged with fraud and was remanded out of custody on $200 bail.

The court was told that between October 21 and 31 last year, Manyoka and his two accomplices, who are still at large, went to Khumbulani Mkhwananzi's house in Emakhandeni. The trio allegedly connived to misrepresent to the complainant that they were genuine prophets able to conduct prayers as well as cleansing ceremonies to heal his son who has a mental illness.

The suspects on October 21 allegedly planted weird objects in Mkwananzi's yard to convince him there were evil things brought by witches resulting in the child’s illness. It is alleged that they further lied that there was a tokoloshi [= goblin. Ed.] living in the complainant's house ceiling which contributed to the child's illness.

On October 23, they brought with them a dwarf who was completely naked and they claimed he was actually a goblin, known in the local vernacular as a "tokoloshi". Mkhwananzi remained outside the house while the three entered the house. The "tokoloshi" started talking from outside threatening to kill the boy if it is not paid with 20 herd of cattle by Mkhwananzi. The "tokoloshi" said it wanted the cattle delivered to its homestead in Chipinge while the three were busy praying inside talking to it.

Mkhwananzi was made to believe that the utterance by the purported tokoloshi was genuine. Mkwananzi was charged $7000 by the fake prophets to purchase 20 cattle in Chipinge for the tokoloshi. On October 24 Mkhwananzi gave the three conmen $5000 while $375 was transferred into the accused persons' EcoCash account as payment towards the purchase of 20 cattle in Chipinge and transport for the three to go to Chipinge as per instruction of the "tokoloshi".

He also made a transfer of $2050 into EcoCash account of Esinath Nyambo, one of the suspects who is still at large to settle the balance for payment of the 20 cattle. After the payment the three did not go to Chipinge. Through this misrepresentation they swindled Mkhwananzi of $7351 and nothing was recovered. A report was made to the police leading to Manyoka's arrest.

That's the end of the report. Such stories are not unusual in that part of the world. No wonder so many Africans want to emigrate to the UK or the USA or any Western country where tokoloshis are unknown... or almost....

Reverse racism rules at the Canadian Broadcorping Castration

In Adios America!, Ann Coulter dissects and gives numerous examples of the extraordinary lengths the (((controlled))) lamestream media -- Hello, New York Times ! -- goes to to suppress any information about the race, ethnicity, religion and/or immigration status of persons accused of crimes. Descriptions of perps routinely omit words, such as "black", which might help the general public to indentify the wrong-doers and thus assist the police in bringing them to what we laughingly call "justice".

Here's a case in point from the Great No-longer-white North. Last Saturday, a young man by the name of Yosif Al-Hasnawi (religion and immigration status unreported) had just left his mosque in downtown Hamilton ON, when he spotted two men accosting another man. Mr Al-Hasnawi tried to intervene and was subsequently shot by one of the assailants. Hamilton police issued a warrant for James Burningsky King, pictured below.

The picture at right was the first one released, apparently taken from police files. The picture at left was released a couple of days later, by which time Mr King had cut his hair and shaved off his facial hair, thus rendering himself less identifiable as a... errr... First Nations person, or indigenous person, or, to use the now proscribed, politically incorrect term, Indian.

Canadians (and probably Americans too) would have figured out his race anyway, from his name. Unless of course they listened to Canada's state broadcaster, the Canadian Broadcorping Castration. Reporting on his arrest yesterday (in the vicinity of the Mississaugas of New Credit First Nation reserve near Hagersville ON), the CBC used only the left-hand picture and identified the accused, now facing a murder charge, as plain old "James Kind". The ultra-PC broadcaster has thus done its bit to avert race war between Muslim migrants and the warriors of the Six Nations. Good for them!

Jew calls Canada's welcome of 1000s of Muslim refugees "reckless, politically correct thinking"

Lawrence Solomon is a columnist with Canada’s National Post. His name suggests that he is not Lawrence of Arabia, but Lawrence of... err... let's just say he's of the Jewish persuasion. His religion has nothing to do, of course, with the thoughts expressed in his piece headed "Europe is planning to deport hundreds of thousands of Muslims", which appeared on the Post website today.

The gist of Mr. Solomon's message to Canucks is to be found in the conclusion: "Canada's historic approach to immigration since Confederation – welcoming the multitudes who would fit in, but also requiring them to fit it – has served this country well, allowing us to maintain our liberties and grow our economy. Europe’s cautionary tale, coming to us now as it does, when we are at risk of falling prey to reckless, politically correct thinking on immigration, could not have been a more timely reminder of the ways in which our historic immigration policies have been wise."

For those who don't geddit, he is saying that if the "historic immigration policies" were wise, the Justin Trudeau's new policies are unwise. Got it now? Mr. Solomon calls open-door immigration policies such as Angela Merkel's now-discredited Willkommenskultur, the product of "a soft-headed if soft-hearted desire to help desperate refugees." Without saying "I told you so" (for he didn't!) he says it's all ending badly. And he has some statistics from Europe to prove it.

Sweden, he writes, is planning to deport half of its 160,000 migrants. Finland plans to deport two-thirds of its 32,000 migrants. And Germany intends to deport all migrants who arrived under false pretenses – a number that could total many hundreds of thousands – as well as all migrants from Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia, which Germany now deems “safe” countries because they are not at war.

Mr. Solomon goes on to cite, again, the New Year's Eve rape-fest in Cologne, Germany. He says that, "although government officials and the mainstream press initially tried to cover up the extent of the wrong-doing, an estimated 1,000 Muslims in Cologne alone participated in 'Taharrush' a practice of encircling, groping and sometimes raping women..."

Mr. Solomon writes dispassionately of course. He does not personally point the racist finger of blame at Muslims. He merely reports that law enforcement officials and NGOs in many countries attribute a disproportionate number of rapes to young, single Muslim men. And, he goes on, "crime by migrants is rampant. Hamburg police reports 20,000 purse-snatches a year, 90 per cent of them by males in their 20s from North Africa or the Balkans. In 2014, even before the migrant stampede accelerated, 38,000 asylum seekers had been accused of committing crimes."

Canada, the writer concludes, has been lucky... so far... because it has not yet accepted "untoward levels of migrants". But there is still the matter of M Trudeau's rash promise, after his government failed to meet its target of admitting 25,000 by the end of last year, to raise the number of Syrian migrants to 50,000 by the end of 2016. If you go through with this unwise plan, Mr. Solomon seems to be saying, it will end just as badly as it is now in Europe. Don't say he [and Walt! Ed.] didn't warn you.

WANTED for theft of 14 tons of nuts

Yes, it's a squirrel. And yes, this picture really was posted on the Facebook page of the Shelby Township MI Police Department. They're looking for the thief who stole about 14 tons of packaged snack nuts from a parked tractor trailer sometime over the weekend of June 27th.

A Shelby PD spokesthingy told the press that the wanted poster has not produced any leads on the actual culprit, so far. "Obviously the squirrel attracted some attention but not the types of calls that we were hoping for," said. Det. Lt. Jason Schmittler said.

The Facebook page now includes a warning that "The squirrel is not a suspect. It's just a picture. Used to draw attention. Please do not call in squirrel sightings."

Note from Ed.: Shelby Township is about 30 miles north of Detroit. It is not to be confused with Shelbyville, which is near Springfield in another state.

"Police intelligence" in Canada's wild west

"Whatcha got growin' in your garden, there, pardner?" That's what the cops on the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team ("ALERT" -- geddit?) asked Ryan Thomas Rockman back in July, before digging up more than 1,600 plants, shown in this picture taken by CP's Ian Martens at a press conference called by the cops to announce the detection and destruction of a huge marijuana grow-up, namely Rockman's garden. [Was it by any chance a rock garden? Ed.]

The Rock Man would be facing serious charges when he goes to court tomorrow except for a small weakness in the Crown's case, namely that the plants are not maryjane after all, but Montauk daisies, a fall-blooming perennial that the accused has been growing for ten years.

The red-faced ALERT have dropped the charge of producing a controlled substance, but are pushing on with a potful of other charges, because, as we all know, if the police arrest someone, he must be guilty of something!

Rockman told the Lethbridge Herald, "It made me look like a villain and it made them look silly.... It baffles me, to be honest. At the same time, I don’t want to try to point the finger of blame at them either because they’re still just trying to do their mandate and make it home every day."
How Canadian is that?! An American would have sued the bastards, right sharpish.

Insp. Dan Konowalchuk [How Albertan is that? Ed.], head of the combined forces special regional enforcement units, defended the officers’ actions when interviewed by the Toronto Star.
"I don’t think there is anything at this point for the guys to apologize for. They acted on what they believed to be the best information they had at the time.... We don’t know for sure they’re daisies," he said, even though test results, which came back this week, clearly prove the seized plants weren’t marijuana.

The plants were only about half as high as one would expect, and of course they were in Rockman's garden, not a clearing in a cornfield. But, Konowalchuk said, it might have been some "sub-strain" of marijuana, perhaps a dwarf variety. "There are some similarities to the (marijuana) plant when you look directly at the plant," he told the Star. "But are they identical? No, they’re not. (Even so) the guys thought they we dealing with a large grow operation and they responded accordingly."

Walt's question of the day: What are the chances of Mr. Rockman being found not guilty of anything at all in the courts of Canada's redneckiest province? Answer: The accused has two chances -- slim and none. Start building the scaffold.

Headline of the summer from the Toronto Star

In his daily perusal of papers from around the world, Walt doesn't spend a lot of time on the website of the Toronto Star. To those of my political persuasion, it's usually referred to as the Red Star, and that tells you all you need to know.

However... when you see a headline like
Dismemberment still a rarity in Canada
it's hard to resist the temptation to check out the story,
if only to see if they're bragging or complaining.

That has to be the most grabby headline of the summer. Hell... the year!

Latest Toronto murder victim not a nagger

Agent 3, who was born in Toronto, asks me to point out that the man shot in broad daylight yesterday at a sidewalk cafe in Toronto was not, errr, black. Nor are police rounding up the usual (black) suspects.

The incident happened Monday afternoon, during the Ireland vs Italy "football" match, at the Sicilian Ice Cream Shop. Neighbours identified the decesased as 35-year-old John Raposo. According to the Toronto Sun, another source said the deliberately-targeted slaying was likely personal, not tied to organized crime. Errr, yeah...

Is your mind righteous?

Regular readers of WW's World will know that Walt is a regular reader of Margaret Wente's column in the Globe and Mail. Ms Wente was born in Chicago, but now makes her home in "an affluent downtown Toronto postal code". She looks with a jaundiced eye [perhaps TWO such eyes. Ed.] on her neighbours, whom she regards as what I call "Volvo liberals".

Today, Ms Wente has another "label for these people. They are WEIRD. That is, they belong to a tiny subculture of the human population that is Western, educated, industrialized, rich and democratic. They are the secular liberal baby boomers who dominate the opinion elite."

She says this in the context of a review of The Righteous Mind, by Jonathan Haidt. According to the author's website, the book is about one of the hottest topics in the sciences — morality. It’s about how we evolved to live in moral “matrices,” which bind us together around sacred values and then blind us to the truth. It’s about righteousness, moral diversity, politics and religion.

According to Margaret Wente's review, Mr Haidt is talking about the WEIRD culture of which he is an admitted member. She sees The Righteous Mind as a must-read for anyone who’s dumbfounded that Steve Harpoon got elected prime minister of Canada. Or that anyone could oppose the re-election of Al O'Bama.

Or that the voters of Alberta are about to elect a party "full of bigots and climate-change deniers". (More on this, and why it should matter to Americans, next week. For now... lifetime pct .983.)

Mr. Haidt argues that conservatives and liberals operate with two quite different moral systems. Liberals are almost exclusively concerned with harm and fairness. They see society as composed of autonomous individuals who should be free to satisfy their wants and needs as they see fit.

Conservatives have a wider moral palate. They are also concerned with loyalty, authority and sanctity – values that are deeply rooted in human nature and all societies throughout history. They see society as composed of people in relation to community, who have a set of roles, responsibilities and obligations to God and their neighbours. They believe there is much more to the moral domain than harm and fairness.

Haidt's thesis is that conservative politicians on the right have a built-in advantage, because they understand human nature better than liberals do. Most people’s moral frameworks are far broader – and far less rational and systematic – than liberals believe, says Ms Wente. Nonetheless, liberal psychologists (and politicians) have spent most of the past 40 years trying to explain why conservatives are so misguided. Why don’t they embrace equality, diversity and change, like normal people? Obviously, they’re repressed and afraid of difference.

Mr. Haidt believes that as long as liberals continue to pathologize conservatism, they’re doomed. Instead, they need to understand why the reaction of many ordinary people to the issues in the news is so different from their own. The simple answer is that these people are less concerned with individual rights and universal justice than they are with things such as loyalty, authority and people getting what they deserve, not what their ethnicity or sexual orientation "entitle" them to.

Ms Wente uses the example of the Harper government’s tough crime-and-punishment agenda -- the policies that drive Canadian liberals craziest.

To liberals, [the government's] law-and-order agenda is nothing more than base pandering to an ignorant electorate. But many Canadians have a sharply different view. They don’t care that crime stats are at record lows, or that mandatory minimum sentences don’t work.

What they care about is the Vancouver bus driver who was off work for more than a year after a young thug bashed his face in. The thug got 18 months to be served at a rehab residence. They care about the stupidly light sentence imposed on Graham James for sexually abusing teenage hockey players and about shopkeepers who get charged by the police for trying to protect themselves from thieves.

They think these things are profoundly wrong. And despite the enlightened views of liberals, an alarming number of them continue to support the death penalty.

Perhaps if these Canadians were better educated they wouldn’t think this way. Or perhaps, if liberals were better educated in moral psychology, they’d be able to understand why conservative policies are so appealing. My advice is to begin by listening to Jonathan Haidt.

Walt can hardly wait to read The Righteous Mind, and will pick up a copy at the Library of Congress next week*, if the librarian isn't looking.

* Indeed, Walt will be in the capital city of the Excited States of America from now until Wednesday. Why??? Visit WW's World on Thursday and all will be revealed. Or maybe not.

Mom-to-be gets stomped in the multicult capital

Everyone knows that Philadelphia is no longer the City of Brotherly Love. No, that title [perhaps updated to "The City of Sibling Love"? Ed.] now belongs to Toronto, the font of political correctness and the exemplar of multiracial peace and harmony.
Well, not always...

Today's Toronto Star features a story headed "Police investigate video of young pregnant woman being beaten". The headline in a less lamestream medium reads
Preggo Dope Fiend Gets Jumped By Hood Chicks In Toronto For Talkin Mess!

What that means, in plain English, is that a pissing contest [Don't be so literal! He means a slanging match! Ed.] broke out between a young and obviously pregnant woman and some other females on a darkened stretch of Yonge Street, the Little Apple's main drag.

The video -- labelled "Warning: Graphic Content" -- shows pedestrians walking past the group as the shouting increases. Although it looks as if the pregnant woman could have escaped, she doesn't do so. She starts to walk away, but comes back for more.

After a few more choice words are exchanged, a male voice yells "Hit her!" At this point, the pregnant woman lashes out at another female with her jacket and knocks a bottle to the ground, where it shatters.

The other females then strike back, hitting the pregnant woman about the face and knocking her to the ground. While lying helpless on the sidewalk, she is kicked around the head and in the stomach and back for about 30 seconds, during which she covers her head with her hands and wails with pain.

While she is being beaten, the person holding the camera does not try to intervene to stop the beating. In fact, the person moves in to record the action from close range. At the end of the beating, a young woman spits on the victim.

The video has already disappeared from YouTube and the original site, but since we know you'll be wanting to see it -- WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT! -- Ed. has embedded a link, below.

Before you watch, how about a little self-criticism. Will all those who think the actors in this little piece are, errr, persons of colour, please raise your hands. Hmm. Just as I thought. Well, have a look.

Fooled ya, eh! You see? It's not just members of the black underclass who carry on like dat! Trash comes in every colour -- black, white and striped.

PS from Ed.: Just in case the embed link gets disabled, I've made a backup. If you can't see the video, let us know, and I'll upload my copy.

"Spearchucker": more than just a racial slur

Those who think that people are pretty much the same the world over, even in darkest Africa, may find the following story interesting...or at least a bit unsettling. It's taken from the May 25th online edition of the Zimbabwean paper NewsDay. The names have not been changed to protect the innocent or the not-so-innocent.

A suspected thief from Magunje shocked the small rural village when he stabbed and killed a neighbourhood watch committee member with a spear before setting fire to his own father’s thatched hut, accusing his dad of snitching on him.

Jealous Tomase allegedly stabbed Wellington Beremauro in the stomach with a spear and, for good measure, struck him several times on the head with an iron bar, killing him instantly.

The state prosecutor alleges that on the fateful day, Beremauro and his colleagues, Never Chitsato and Pascal Zvikonyaniswa, were executing their duties as neighbourhood watch members when they went to Tomasi’s homestead, searching for stolen property. Upon seeing the local law enforcement agents, Tomasi allegedly took to his heels and disappeared for a while.

The neighbourhood watch team proceeded to conduct a search and recovered the stolen property which they took to Tomasi’s father’s homestead for recording. Unbeknownst to them, that was the very place in which Tomasi had sought refuge. He allegedly appeared from behind a kitchen, armed with two spears and an axe.

Tomasi allegedly threw the spear striking Beremauro in the stomach knocking him down. He allegedly proceeded to strike him several times with an iron bar.

As if that was not enough, Tomasi is also alleged to have set on fire his father’s huts, accusing him of selling him out to the neghbourhood watch team. He appeared before High Court judge Justice Samuel Kudya last Monday, facing a charge of murder. The state apparently decided to proceed only on the murder charge, as it seemed there'd already been enough arson around.

Tomasi pled not guilty but his efforts to defend himself were thwarted when his father Victor Tomasi, testified against him. The accused’s father said he personally witnessed Beremauro being speared in the stomach by his son. At that point dad ran away, returning later only to discover his huts had been torched. The trial continues this week.

"You doesn't have to call me Johnson!"

This is Johnson Aziga. Mr. Aziga was born in Uganda. At some point he was accepted as an immigrant to Canada, and found a job with the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney-General. What Mr. Aziga did not disclose on his immigration application, or at any other time, is the fact that he is HIV-positive.

This was unfortunate since, true to his name, Johnson was very inclined to indulge in what Private Eye calls "Ugandan affairs". He had a wife, three kids, and a succession of girlfriends. He indulged in unsafe sex with no fewer than 11 women. Seven of them later tested positive for HIV, and two died of complications of AIDS, in December 2003 and May 2004.

Fast forward to April 2009, when Mr. Aziga, was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder, 10 counts of aggravated sexual assault and one count of attempted aggravated sexual assault. He thus became the first person ever to be tried and convicted of first-degree murder by virtue [eh? Ed.] of knowingly spreading the HIV virus.

At the trial, his former girlfriends testified that Johnson lied about his HIV status and continued having unprotected sex until the morning of his arrest in 2003.

There is no death penalty in Canada. Being in his mid-50s, Mr. Aziga would normally be eligible for parole sometime after he celebrates his 70th birthday, if he lives so long. At that point he might be deported to his native Africa. But the Crown doesn't want to chance that.

No. The Crown is now seeking to have Mr. Aziga declared a dangerous offender, which would mean that he would remain a guest of Her Majesty (at the expense of Her Majesty's taxpayers) indefinitely. That means forever.

Mr. Aziga is resisting the Crown's application. Perhaps he would like to have at least a hope of getting out of prison before his libido is reduced to nothingness. Just because there's snow on the roof doesn't mean there's no fire in the furnace.

Now the court is hearing, for the first time, an explanation for Johnson's behaviour, and in particular his failure to tell any of his 11 victims of his life-threatening disease. ["condition" surely! Don't be politically incorrect! Ed.]
Mr. Aziga's excuse ["explanation", surely. Ed.] is... wait for it... that he has an undescended testicle. He was born that way, one hung low and one not. And that, according to a psychiatrist, is the cause of all his, errr, difficulties.

He was embarrassed, you see. Mr. Aziga told the shrink that because of his abnormality, he always hid sexual information about himself. He didn't tell his wife or sex partners or anyone. And he didn't disclose his HIV status because he was afraid he would be rejected. Imagine that.

A judge will rule on the Crown's application in due course. But don't think keeping the murderer behind bars is a sure thing. Mr. Aziga is not without his supporters, including Richard Elliott, deputy director of the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network. Dick described as "not very helpful" the decision to try Mr. Aziga at all!

He said such charges might "lead to a dominant impression out there of people living with HIV as potential criminals". Ridiculous! We know that not everyone suffering from HIV/AIDS is a potential criminal. Just Johnson.
