VIDEO: Pres. Trump names anti-Trump names at CPAC

Here's something to close out the month with, a great video of the once and future President Trump, speaking at CPAC.

Here's the key point of his speech: "Our movement of proud, hard-working American patriots is just getting started, and in the end we will win. We will win!

I'll say it again... stay tuned!

Biden tries to rewrite four years of American history

Earlier today, Walt wrote that Sleepy Joe Biden now snoozes in the Oval Office, waking every now and then to undo some of the good things done by his predecessor. Indeed, everything he does -- or is made to do by the puppeteer who pulls his strings -- seems calculated to erase from the history of the Disunited States President Trump, and all his works, no matter the consequences.

This past Wednesday, Mr Biden revoked seven Executive Orders issued by President Trump between 2017 and 2021. The White House offered no explanation for the revocations, so let's take a look at them to see if we can discern any rationale other than that argued above.

Among the Executive Orders was one of the first signed by President Trump, titled "Core Principles for Regulating the United States Financial System". It set out the Trump administration's policy on financial regulation, with the first listed goal to "empower Americans to make independent financial decisions and informed choices in the marketplace, save for retirement, and build individual wealth." What's wrong with that?

The policy also sought to "prevent taxpayer-funded bailouts" and "enable American companies to be competitive with foreign firms in domestic and foreign markets." Not bad ideas, surely!

China Joe also countermanded an April 2018 EO titled "Reducing Poverty in America by Promoting Opportunity and Economic Mobility." It directed the federal government to reform the welfare system around a set of core principles, including improving economic independence, targeting benefits for people with low incomes, and reducing "wasteful spending by consolidating or eliminating federal programs that are duplicative or ineffective." Is it that the Dumbocrats are in favour of wasteful spending and inefficient welfare programs?

Another casualty of the New Order was a memo that unshackled the Department of Defense from collective bargaining constraints in order to give the military maximum flexibility "to cultivate a lethal, agile force adaptive to new technologies and posture changes." Will Americans be better protected by a military constrained by policies and spending limits devised during the Obama years?

Also included in the list of revocations is a COVID-19 Executive Order that directed federal agencies to address the economic repercussions of the Dempanic by "rescinding, modifying, waiving, or providing exemptions from regulations" which could imperil economic recovery. Do the Dems really not want the country to get on its feet again as quickly as possible?

One of the later EOs issued by President Trump directed the federal government to review funding for localities like Seattle, which took a lax stance on the Antifa anarchy and BLM riots of last summer and fall. Why should the administrations of Seattle, Portland, Minneapolis and other Democratic strongholds be held to account for failing to protect their residents and public and private property? Let the federal funds flow again!

Another Executive Order revoked was one titled "Promoting Beautiful Federal Civic Architecture", which directed a sweeping stylistic overhaul of federal architecture with a focus on a return to classical and traditional forms. Also undone was one of the last EOs, which forbade unelected bureaucrats from initiating or signing off on federal rules.

What do you make of all this, dear reader? I can't see in the cancelled orders any link or anything in common which would move a sane and sensible President to revoke them. I can only conclude that Mr Biden simply intends to undo everything the Trump administration accomplished over the last four years. No other explanation makes sense. It's anti-Trumpism, Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) writ large. That's all.

Let me give you one more example. The Biden administration recently cancelled Operation Talon, a Trump administration programme aimed at removing convicted sex offenders living in the United States illegally. [You can't say "illegal", only that they're "undocumented". Ed.] Dismantling Operation Talon effectively allows sex offenders, who by any measure of commons sense should be deported, to remain in the US of A.

Operation Talon would seem to be something that everyone should support, but the loony lefties who run the Dumbocratic Party (and now the federal government) don't like it. Why? Perhaps because President Trump put the programme in place.

A letter sent by the Attorneys General of 18 states to Mr Biden, the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security and the Acting Director of ICE, pointed out the problems with the cancellation. "The United States' population of illegal immigrants includes disturbingly large numbers of criminals with prior convictions for sexual crimes. ...during the period from October 2014 to May 2018 ICE arrested 19,572 illegal aliens with criminal convictions for whom the most serious prior conviction was a conviction for a sex-related offense.

"Meanwhile, [the letter continues] an increasing number of illegal aliens are entering the United States after having been previously convicted of sexual offenses. The cancellation of [Operation Talon] effectively broadcasts to the world that the United States is now a sanctuary jurisdiction for sexual predators.

"This message creates a perverse incentive for foreign sexual predators to seek to enter the United States illegally and assault more victims, both in the process of unlawful migration and after they arrive. It will also broadcast the message to other criminal aliens who have committed other offenses that any kind of robust enforcement against them is unlikely."

The letter begs perhaps the most important question: "If the United States will not remove even convicted sex offenders, whom will it remove?" The White House has so far not answered.

Saints needed to stand up against the "most anti-Catholic President"

So says Fr. Jerry Pokorsky, a priest of the Diocese of Arlington VA and director of Human Life International. In his curiously-titled essay "In Gratitude for Joe Biden", published yesterday on the CatholicCulture.org website, Father Pokorsky calls Sleepy Joe "the most aggressively anti-Catholic President in history."

Why, then, should we be grateful to him? We'll come to that shortly, but first let's ask Father: But doesn't Mr Biden make a great show of being Catholic? Did he not say, in 2005, "The next Republican that tells me I'm not religious, I'm going to shove my rosary beads down their throat!"?

That is true, says Fr. Pokorsky, but  despite Mr Biden's outward show of piety, "for most of his political life — from his consistent pro-abortion record to his officiating at a gay wedding in 2016 — despite his Catholic affiliation and public pious practices, Joe Biden has magnified and institutionalized countless major violations of the Ten Commandments."

"The hypocrisy rivals that of the chief priests and Pharisees, and is worthy of the same condemnation," Fr. Pokorsky writes. "Indeed, Biden is the most aggressively anti-Catholic President in history."

Why would the priest say that? Because of the hypocrisy -- the dichotomy between his outward show of piety on the one hand and his record of supporting evil on the other. "Biden’s habitual and unapologetic sinful acts are on full display."

There's a lot more to being a faithful Catholic, Fr. Pokorsky says, than carrying a rosary, the priest declares. "It is presumptuous and dangerous to proclaim oneself as a devout Catholic or to encourage (or even allow) the description." Indeed, Jesus said, "Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven: but he that doth the will of my Father who is in heaven, he shall enter into the who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father..." (St. Matthew 7:21 DRV)

China Joe's positions on key moral issues are hardly consistent with his description of himself as a Catholic. For instance, he has declared himself committed to codifying Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion. And he has promised to appoint judges "that respect foundational precedents like Roe."

But wait, there's more.... Mr Biden has also called on Congress to quickly pass the Equality Act, which would add sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes under the 1964 Civil Rights Act. And there's his nomination of Xavier Becerra to lead the Department of Health and Human Services. See "Biden names never-Trumper and gender ideologue to HHS", WWW 26/2/21.

Fr. Pokorsky argues persuasively that Mr Biden's insistent claim that he is a devout Catholic forces an "unavoidable choice." We either: stand with the Church and reject Biden's "iconic culture-of-death policies," or we join those who "celebrate Biden’s flouting of Church teaching."

So why should we be thankful that Sleepy Joe now now snoozes in the Oval Office, waking every now and then to undo some of the good done by President Trump? Because, Father says, "The election of Biden has forced a crisis. From the ashes, we can expect the Holy Spirit to raise up successors to those who opposed another anti-Catholic tyrant: Saint John Fisher and Saint Thomas More. May there be many of them!" Amen.

2nd Cdn Chief of Defence Staff resigns over sexual harassment claim

Less than a month ago [on February 4th, to be exact. Ed.] Walt told youthe sad story of Canadian Army General Jonathan Vance, who was forced to step down from his position as Chief of Defence Staff over concerns about his alleged intimate relationship with a junior officer. Tsk, tsk. "Me Too!"

That was kind of funny (not "funny curious" but "funny haha") because Gen. Vance was the driving force behind "Operation Honour", the Canuck military's PR campaign to quash sexual misconduct in the forces. French-speaking members of the military quickly transformed the name of the exercise into "`Op On Her".

Nothing deterred, the alleged government of Liberal Prime Minister Blackie McBlackface appoint a new CDS, in the person of Admiral Art McDonald. In announcing the appointment, Mr Socks praised him in these words: "Vice-Admiral Ronald... sorry... Art McDonald brings decades of experience in a variety of command and staff roles, and I am confident that he will provide dedicated leadership to the Canadian Armed Forces as they continue to respond wherever is needed to protect Canadians and our values."

"Canadian values"... yes... sure. Just two days ago, Adm. McDonald sent a message to all Canadian Forces personnel saying he was committed to earning their trust as well as taking bold action against sexual misconduct!

The ink was barely dry on the press release when a source contacted the meeja with a series of allegations of sexual misconduct, complete with the specific file number for an ongoing police investigation that had been launched a month earlier.

A victim had come forward and multiple witnesses were providing corroborating statements to police, the source noted. Just seven hours later, 45 minutes before midnight, Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan (the Hero of Afghanistan -- you can look it up) announced the CDS was "voluntarily" leaving the job "until the probe was completed."

Whether Adm. McDonald will regain his position as Monarch of the Sea remains to be seen, but at least Canucks can be glad that, unlike the British Navy, which has always "run on rum and buggery", Her Majesty's Canadian Navy is staffed by officers and men [and women. Ed.] who are resolutely heterosexual.

VIDEOS: Biden names never-Trumper and gender ideologue to HHS

Walt's absence for the last few days has been necessitated by the speed and audacity with which George Soros' First Puppet (aka Sleepy Joe Biden) has moved to erase from the history of the Disunited States President Trump, and all his works, no matter whether doing so helps or hurts the nation. I needed time to catch up.

China Joe will be assisted in his anti-Trump mission by a slew of radical activists who have been appointed to top levels in his administration. Chief among these are Dr (((Rachel Levine))), picked to be Biden's Assistant Secretary of Health, and Xavier Becerra, an attorney and Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus from 2013 to 2017, nominated as Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Dr Levine is described by the lamestream media as "a gender non-conforming biological male who identifies as transgender". I think this means "she" is a transvestite (or cross-dresser, as we used to call them -- like Ed Wood), or maybe a trans woman wannabe who hasn't had the operation yet.

"Her" appointment represents the triumph of the alphabet people and gender ideology over the old-fashioned idea that God created one man and one woman. "She" advocates "gender fluidity", the insane notion that people should be able to switch back and forth from one mode of "gender expressiion" to another, and that the state (i.e. taxpayers) should assist them, by paying for surgical and chemical "gender reassignment".

In this video, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) asks Dr Levine a pointed question about the surgery, which he likens to female genital mutilation, a barbaric practice common in certain [read: Islamic] parts of the Middle East and Africa.

Unless the sane members of the Senate can prevent it, Xavier Becerra will become Dr Levine's boss. Mister Becerra is not a doctor, but a lawyer (and lapsed Catholic) who has been tireless in fighting for the killing of innocent unborn babies. ["Abortion rights", shurely. Ed.]

Most recently, as Attorney General of California, Mr Becerra has spent a lot of his time suing President Trump. He took the Trump administration to court 110 times, making him a key figure of the anti-Trump "resistance". Apparently that qualifies him to take over leadership of the fight against the Covid Dempanic, but Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) can't figure out how. Nor can a number of eminent doctors. Here's the video.

And then there's the admitted supporter of Islamic terrorism who's been named to the Department of Homeland Security. [We regret that limitations of space prevent us from posting anything more. M-106.]

Puzzle page: Which headline is "real news"?

The more I surf the net, the more websites and blogs I visit, the harder it gets to tell truth from fiction. Here are three headlines I saw this morning. Your challenge is to figure out which one(s) are "real news" and which one(s) are satire. No fair clicking on the links!

Yes, "C" is the satirical article. Congratulations to Mr O. Leo Leahy, of Dinkytown MN, for being the first to spot the painfully obvious. Your prize is in the mail!

For those who didn't follow the links, and still think that "A" could only be satire, check out this photo.

You can't make this stuff up. And yes, truth is often funnier than fiction!

Dumbocrats seek to bar President Trump from burial at Arlington

Reconciliation? Bringing a divided nation back together? The Democrats have no interest in healing America. Their single-minded goal is revenge on the 45th President of the US of A for having defeated the anointed one, Hellery Clinton, in 2016.

Their quest for retribution began on the day President Trump was inaugurated, culminating in not one, but two impeachments by the House of Representatives, one of which was pursued even after Citizen Trump had ceased to be President.

What's really important to the Democrat anti-Trumpers (and RINOs who support and enable them), is that, although he was ultimately acquitted both times, Mr Trump was impeached twice. According to H.R. 484, a bill introduced in the House of Reprosentatives in late January, that's enough to disqualify him from burial in Arlington National Cemetery!

Of course the gutless lefties don't have the courage to call H.R. 484 "The Punish Trump Forever Act", or anything like that. Nooo... It has been dubbed the "No Glory for Hate Act". It would "prohibit the use of Federal funds for the commemoration of certain former Presidents," namely those who have faced impeachment proceedings from the House on two separate occasions.

The bill would also restrict the use of government funding to "create or display any symbol, monument, or statue commemorating" a twice-impeached president, and it would bar the naming or redesignation of any federal building or land after Commanders-In-Chief in question.

Let's see now... Which American Presidents have been impeached twice? It would seem that the bill would apply only to President Trump. Quelle surprise! To Walt, H.R. 484 looks like this.

"Allahu akbar!" in France: asylum-seeker kills refugee centre manager

RT.com today reports a sad but unsurprising story from France. OFPRA, the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons, this week refused to give refugee status to a 38-year-old Sudanese asylum-seeker, who had been in France for over five years, since the Great "Refugee" Flood of 2015. The man, who was already known to the authorities for acts of violence and had been in prison, was angered by this unjust decision, and expressed his righteous indignation by stabbling to death the manager of a refugee centre in the city of Pau, in the Pyrénées-Atlantique département.
Inspector Clouseau, of the local gendarmerie, said the "suspect"'s motives remain "unknown". Of course the cops would say that, lest they be accused of provoking Islamophobia. It's actually a pretty reutine story, in today's France, a self-proclaimed "secular republic". I mention this because on Tuesday, France's National Assembly voted to implement tough new measures to strengthen the secular nature of state institutions and eradicate what President Emmanuel Macron calls the threat of "Islamic separatism" among the country's rapidly increasing Muslim population. The government bill to "reaffirm republican principles" passed by a comfortable majority. It tabled last December in the wake of the killing of another French public servant, Samuel Paty, a middle-school teacher who had shown cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed to his students as part of a lesson on freedom of expression. The legislation had been in the works long before that, amid a debate about how to counter the radicalization of Muslims who believe their religious ideals should take precedence over those of the Republic. The new laws have been denounced by the usual suspects, including the lamestream media on this side of the pond, as "racist", "Islamophobic", "anti-Muslim", yada yada yada. AP headlined its report "France passes anti-radicalism bill that worries Muslims". That's all ye know and all ye need to know. The bill now moves on to the French Senate, which does not have a veto over the legislation that passes the assembly, but which could propose amendments. Still, it is expected to become law later this year, just as France enters a presidential election campaign. The election won't be uhtil the spring of 2022, but Walt is ready now to open a book on it. I predict that Marion Anne Perrine "Marine" Le Pen, leader of the Rassemblement National (National Rally), will defeat M Macron, unless the forces of Soros succeed in pulling off another "Biden coup". Lifetime pct .982.

Rush Limbaugh, RIP... plus: death watch

In Rush Limbaugh: An Army of One, (((Zev Chafets))) quotes Rush Limbaugh as saying, "In my heart and soul, I know I have become the intellectual engine of the conservative movement." Walt would agree. Mr Limbaugh was a powerful influencer -- an inspiration, in fact -- as well as a voice for millions of conservatives, libertarians, fundamentalists, nationalists, populists and others on the right. His death from lung cancer was reported by his family yesterday. RIP.
Mr Limbaugh first announced his diagnosis a year ago, saying he would take time off for medical tests and to determine treatment. He said he intended to continue to work as much as possible, as well as focus on what he called his "deeply personal relationship" with God. A day after he announced his diagnosis, during the State of the Union address,President Trump awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

I have a feeling that next year's posts on People Who Left Us in 2021 will be voluminous. Britain's Prince Phillip entered the hospital yesterday (under his own steam, apparently) "for observation". He is 99. His better half, HRH Queen Elizabath II, will turn 95 in April.

April will also see the 94th birthday of Joseph Alois Ratzinger, aka Benedict XVI, sometime Pope of Rome. If he dies, the Roman Catholic Church will be left with only one pretender to the Chair of Peter.
And then there's Hazel McCallion, longtime mayor of Mississauga ON, who turned 100 on St. Valentine's Day. Walt wishes "Hurricane Hazel" many more years!

VIDEOS: The real reason why YouTube banned LifeSiteNews

The Great Censorship that was certain to follow the fraudulent victory of the "Democratic" candidate in the 2020 fake election is picking up steam. Having deleted hundreds of thousands of politically incorrect videos and "demonetized" channels like Remnant TV, YouTube has now started "nuking" -- permanently banning -- news and commentary channels who don't toe the liberal party line.

The first major site to fall is LifeSiteNews, a popular pro-life channel which had well over 300,000 subscribers. LSN is not only pro-life but also a strong voice for traditional Catholicism* -- a double whammy, as it were, in the fight to preserve the Christian values on which our society was founded.

Of course YouTube wouldn't say that the channel's politics informed their decision. LifeSiteNews editor-in-chief John-Henry Westen told the Catholic News Agency that YouTube did not provide "a specific reason for the deletion of the account." In this video, Mr Westen shows you the videos that got LifeSiteNews booted from YouTube.

CNA said yesterday that Google, YouTube's parent company, declared it had banned LifeSiteNews for "violating its coronavirus misinformation policy", including "content that promotes prevention methods that contradict local health authorities or WHO." They were apparently referring to a video posted in December but quickly deleted, in which a Canadian pathologist, Dr Roger Hodkinson, protested the "unfounded public hysteria" surrounding the coronavirus. You'll see that clip in Mr Westen's video. Check it out.

But was giving a platform to someone who told the truth about the Dempanic LSN's Really Big Sin? Nooo... If you didn't watch Mr Westen's video (above), you missed this clip (below) of a comment by Fox News host (pro tem) Tucker Carlson, who said on February 11th that the banning of LifeSiteNews was the latest move in "the most sweeping mass censorship campaign in the history of this country." Why did Google do it? Because, Mr Carlson says, "Google supports abortion. A lot of big corporations do."

Now that Sleepy Joe Biden, who has the temerity to call himself "Catholic" while at the same time supporting the funding of Planned Parenthood and the killing of unborn babies, has been elected -- and it's not just God that knows how! -- the "cancel culture" of the intolerant, undemocratic "liberals" and "progressives" has free reign to censor any and all voices of dissent.

The Italian Catholic journal Il Timone called YouTube's decision to ban LifeSiteNews a worrisome example of "a real campaign of censorship and blackout by internet giants" targeting conservatives and, in particular, pro-life voices. Il Timone called the cancelling of LifeSiteNews a "sensational example" of this campaign, because the pro-life site is so well established and "scores a huge number of visits every day from all over the world."

Dr Edward Furton, an ethicist at the National Catholic Bioethics Center, said the Center "condemns the arbitrary decision of YouTube to censor content simply because they find it disagreeable or in opposition to their own political views. YouTube is not staffed by scientists, but by engineers and technicians who understand little to nothing about scientific matters. Far worse, they favour a liberal ideology that supports abortion not only here at home but throughout the world. They believe that there is a universal right to kill the unborn. Such a view revokes their claim to moral superiority over others."

The sad thing is that LifeSiteNews won't be the last to be killed by the Masters of the Internet Universe. NTD, Facts Matter with Roman Balmakov, TheRemnantVideo, and Dr Taylor Marshall are all in the cross-hairs. If you watch these channels (as Walt does), you'd better keep your eyes open for alternative points of access. Meanwhile, if you're still able to see them on YouTube, be sure to click "like" every time you watch! If you can subscribe, so much the better! The more viewers they have, the less likely it is that they'll fall victim to cancel culture!

* Footnote: The pro-life movement has many supporters who aren't traditional Catholics -- evangelical Christians, for example. LifeSiteNews maintains both a Catholic Edition and a Standard Edition, for those who are not as interested in the crisis in the Roman Catholic Church.

Walt names the Republican Senators who voted against Pres. Trump

Following his acquittal yesterday, President Trump released, through the Office of the Former President, the following statement:

I want to first thank my team of dedicated lawyers and others for their tireless work upholding justice and defending truth. My deepest thanks as well to all of the United States Senators and Members of Congress who stood proudly for the Constitution we all revere and for the sacred legal principles at the heart of our country.

Seven establishment Republican Senators -- RINOs -- sided with their Democrat counterparts to convict President Trump. They are:
  •  Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT)
  •  Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME)
  •  Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA)
  •  Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE)
  •  Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC)
  •  Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA)
  •  Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK)

Does that constitute incitement? Walt simply reminds Republican residents of the seven states concerned of how their senators betrayed them. Next time you get a chance to vote, do the right thing!

NOT GUILTY!

The great circus show trial, a colossal waste of time and money, the conclusion of which was known even before it got under way, has now concluded. Citizen Donald John Trump, 45th President of the United States of America, has been acquitted.

But that's not all, folks! The campaign to restore former President Trump to the White House... and sanity to America... begins now!!!

Six things you can do to celebrate Black History Month

Never let it be said that Walt shrank from a challenge! It's still over two weeks to the much-longed-for end of Black History Month, so there's still time to do something to prove that you're woke. Here are six suggestions.

1. Read (and name) a poem by a Black author.
2. Spend a few minutes to learn about Africa, and answer three geographic questions
3. Dance to a Reggae song and list the name
4. Cook an African or Caribbean meal and describe it
5. Have a conversation with a Black co-worker and name them
6. Take a photo of an item in your home that reminds you of Black history and explain why with an accompanying picture.

I didn't make this up all by my(white)self. In fact they are taken from a memorandum sent to employees of the Regional Municipality of Durham (Ontario, Canada) promoting what they called the "Black History Month Scavenger Hunt". Really.

A day after a copy of the list was circulated on antisocial media by a BLM activist, the usual suspects chimed in with shrieks of "Racist!" and call for "accountability", after regional officials issued the customary fulsome apology.

Shailene Panylo, co-founder of a group styling itself the "Durham Black Accountability Coalition" told Global News, "It was so incredibly shameful that I was as much as in disbelief as… I had to laugh, you have to laugh because how can after so much time, so much effort trying to educate, agitate, create change could something so completely off be put forth as a Black History Month initiative? It simply doesn’t make sense.

"Black History Month has long been an opportunity for non-Black folk to tokenize Black bodies within conversations and space, essentially freeing other people who are non-Black from having to interact with their own learning and unlearning in a way that's truthfully meaningful and would dismantle systems that activities like this only continue to uphold."

In response to the outcry, the Region of Durham tweeted "We hear you" and posted an image of a statement that said, "addressing anti-Black racism is a priority" for the municipality. It said there will be other activities throughout the month for staff to learn about Black history, Black culture and achievements within the Black community.

The statement also said, "Through engaging with the community and Regional staff we acknowledge that mistakes will be made when addressing anti-Black racism. This challenge activity is one of them." Note the use of the passive voice there. That's how you weasel out of saying, "We made a mistake!"

Global News spoke with Chair John Henry [Is he a steel-drivin' man? Ed.] and Regional Municipality of Durham Chief Administrative Officer Elaine Baxter-Trahair to ask about the activity and the details surrounding it. Said the Chair, "Once we found out about it, we were disappointed. We reacted yesterday afternoon. It wasn't something we saw. I'm apologetic for it and we're sorry it has happened."

Following the statement by the Chair, the Table (Ms Baxter-Trahair) said the activity and Black History Month activities were overseen by a "cross-department diverse group of individuals." She went on to describe what happened as, errr, a "misjudgment". "There was [sic] just a couple of misjudgments, so going forward I have to make sure there's the oversight and training in place so the committee can make better decisions."

So everything's OK then, in the Region of Durham. No systemic racism there! And yes, they're just about as woke as can be, although not so woke, of course, as Canuck Prime Minister Blackie McBlackface.

Prof. John McWhorter: The Ten Tenets of Third Wave Antiracism

Walt is grateful to the good folks at Blazing Cat Fur for giving us the link to John McWhorter's new book The Elect: Neoracists Posing as Antiracists and their Threat to a Progressive America. Dr McWhorter teaches linguistics, American Studies, and music history at Columbia University. He is a contributing editor at the Atlantic and host of Slate's Lexicon Valley podcast.

Professor McWhorter is the author of twenty books, including The Power of Babel: A Natural History of Language; Losing the Race: Self Sabotage in Black America; and Our Magnificent Bastard Tongue: The Untold History of English. He also wrote Authentically Black: Essays for the Black Silent Majority (PenguinRandomHouse 2003), which I mention here to exemplify the author's mindset. His views on politics and the alleged "systemic racism" of American society are, I expect, not unlike those expressesd by Thomas Sowell.

The Elect: Neoracists Posing as Antiracists and their Threat to a Progressive America is being published as an e-book, in instalments you can read by clicking on the link at the beginning of this sentence. In this book, Dr McWhorter argues that a new religion -- Third Wave Antiracism -- is being preached across America. Third Wave Antiracism, he writes, is nonsense posing as wisdom.

Space doesn't allow us to repost the first of the serial excerpts in its entirety, but we do want to share Dr McWhorter's list of the Ten Tenets of Third Wave Antiracism, which "stated clearly and placed in simple oppositions, translate into nothing whatsoever."

 1. When black people say you have insulted them, apologize with profound sincerity and guilt. But don’t put black people in a position where you expect them to forgive you. They have dealt with too much to be expected to.

 2. Black people are a conglomeration of disparate individuals. “Black culture” is code for “pathological, primitive ghetto people.” But don’t expect black people to assimilate to “white” social norms because black people have a culture of their own.

 3. Silence about racism is violence. But elevate the voices of the oppressed over your own.

 4. You must strive eternally to understand the experiences of black people. But you can never understand what it is to be black, and if you think you do you’re a racist.

 5. Show interest in multiculturalism. But do not culturally appropriate. What is not your culture is not for you, and you may not try it or do it. But—if you aren’t nevertheless interested in it, you are a racist.

 6. Support black people in creating their own spaces and stay out of them. But seek to have black friends. If you don’t have any, you’re a racist. And if you claim any, they’d better be good friends—in their private spaces, you aren’t allowed in.

 7. When whites move away from black neighborhoods, it’s white flight. But when whites move into black neighborhoods, it’s gentrification, even when they pay black residents generously for their houses.

 8. If you’re white and only date white people, you’re a racist. But if you’re white and date a black person you are, if only deep down, exotifying an “other.”

 9. Black people cannot be held accountable for everything every black person does. But all whites must acknowledge their personal complicity in the perfidy throughout history of “whiteness.”

 10. Black students must be admitted to schools via adjusted grade and test score standards to ensure a representative number of them and foster a diversity of views in classrooms. But it is racist to assume a black student was admitted to a school via racial preferences, and racist to expect them to represent the “diverse” view in classroom discussions.

I suspect (Dr McWhorter writes) that deep down, most know that none of this catechism makes any sense. Less obvious is that it was not even composed with logic in mind. The self-contradiction of these tenets is crucial, in revealing that Third Wave Antiracism is not a philosophy but a religion.

The Fort Mudge Library is run by certified (certifiable?) liberals, and has nothing by Dr McWhorter in its catalogue, but I will continue my search (especially for the book on the English Language), and suggest that readers do likewise.

Impeachment trial: the VIDEO the MSM don't want you to see

There's four hours of my life I won't get back! Yesterday I watched the first afternoon of the Senate trial of former President Trump -- "former" being the key word here because, as Mr Trump's lawyers pointed out, he is out of office now, and the Constitution does not allow for the impeachment of a private citizen.

I thought they made a pretty good argument on that point, but in spite of the trial being (on an objective reading of the text of the United States Constitution) contrary to the founding document of the republic, six Republic Senators (including the inevitable Mitt Romney) voted to go ahead with it. Final tally: ayes 56 - nays 44.

That was pretty much what I expected, but what I found interesting were the videos presented to the solons by the House managers and Mr Trump's lawyers. Impeachment manager Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who previously objected to results from Donald Trump's 2016 victory, showed a dramatic and selectively edited video that spliced together President Trump's statements with images of the mostly peaceful protesters (TM) who "attacked" the Capitol on January 6th.

I'm sure you've seen that video 1000 times since it was all over the boob tube, from the live feed through every damn "newscast" on every damn station until... well, for all I know it's still being shown this morning. Did you notice, though, that the video edited out (for example) President Trump's appeal to his supporters to "peacefully make their voices heard." The video was the veriest hatchet job, carefully constructed by master manipulators to lay everything at Mr Trump's feet.

Of course the lickspittle lamestream media swallowed it -- hook, line and sinker -- and expect Americans to do the same. How could viewers do otherwise otherwise, since they saw only the anti-Trump video. But the Senators (whose minds were already made up) saw another one, a montage put together by former Mr Trump's team, which makes clear in just two minutes that this whole show trial is the culmination of the campaign to unseat President Trump which began even before he was sworn in. You be the judge!

The impeachment show trial, the executive orders issued by Sleep Joe to countermand those issued by President Trump, the drive to silence not just Mr Trump but his 74 million supporters (see cartoon above)... these things have nothing to do with reconciliation, and everything to do with retribution. What you have seen over the last three weeks is only the beginning!

VIDEO: What kind of person would put Gorilla Glue on their hair?

I used the personal pronoun "their" because I didn't want to give the answer away, but since you probably guessed anyway, watch this.

Yes folks, it's Tessica Brown, a Louisiana woman who doesn't favour the Afro/natural look. Last week she posted on anti-social media her story of running out of her usual hair product, and opting to use Gorilla Glue instead. Imagine her surprise when the extra-strength superglue held her hair firmly in place... for a month!

A visit to the ER failed to resolve ["dissolve", shurely. Ed.] the situation. Health care workers put acetone (read: nail polish remover) on the back of Ms Brown's head, but instead of getting to the root of the problem, [Don't do that again. Ed.] it burned her scalp and only made the glue gooey before hardening again.

Now the Brown lady is considering a lawsuit to get out of the sticky situation. [Last warning! Ed.] She has hired an ambulance-chaser to prepare a complaint [to Judge Judy? Ed.] alleging that, while the product's label warns against using on eyes, skin or clothing, it does not mention hair.

Gorilla Glue tweeted a statement saying it's aware of the dilemma, and is "very sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident that Miss Brown experienced using our Spray Adhesive on her hair. We are glad to see in her recent video that Miss Brown has received medical treatment from her local medical facility and wish her the best."

But the question remains: who's going to get stuck with the medical bills? [I warned you! We're done here... Ed.]

VIDEO: Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes sets the record straight

Gavin McInnes, the founder of Proud Boys, has been taking a lot of heat lately. His alleged organization -- which isn't an organization really -- has just been declared a terrorist organization by the alleged government of his native Canada

In addition to being labelled as terrorists, the Proud Boys and Mr McInnes are being demonized for being white supremacists, neo-Nazis,alt-right monsters, yada yada yada. In this video, which is nearly three years old, Gavin discusses his 15 most controversial moments (to that point).

In almost every case, he says, his destractors are taking a phrase or sentence completely out of context, and/or failing to recognize that he is indulging in the millennia old technique of hyperbole -- exaggerate for effect. In other words, what he says is not be be taken all that seriously.

Putting his self-defence another way -- and he would probably say that he wasn't defending himself, just explaining -- Mr McInnes likens himself to Walt's favourite stand-up comedian Bill Burr. What he and Bill do is to say out loud stuff that a large percentage of us "regular people" say in bars.

A few of the Proud Boys may be genuine right-wing fanatics, but Walt reminds those who are crying for the censorship of every expression of politically incorrect thought that there are plenty of loony left nutbars out there too.

Those who are already "beyond the fringe" don't need Gavin McInnes or (for that matter) President Trump to incite them to the acts of violence that may be characterized as "terrorism" (in the case of the right) or "mostly peaceful protests" in the case of Antifa and BLM.

Disgruntled Canuck thought Anglicanism was supposed to be a religion

Ed. here. We hope the good folks who are keeping Blazing Cat Fur going, strong as ever, won't mind our anticipating their permission to repost the following excellent article, written by a resident of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia (The Ocean Playground TM) who wonders when his church (or that of his mother) ceased being a religion and started being a part of the anti-racism industry.

The alleged church in question is the Anglican Church of Canada -- sometimes called "The Tory Party at Prayer" -- whose "Giving with Grace" promo invites Canadians "to help the ministries of the Anglican Church of Canada make real transformation in real communities here at home and abroad." It's not about religion, now, but about social justice, or so it seems. That prompted someone known only TLDR to write

The Good Lord Help Me, I Am Now Holden Caulfield.
(Don’t Read This, It’s Just Me Whining. TLDR.)

It’s been a horrible year, basically, for everyone. Obviously some more than others. I get that. And I can’t even look out of the window without seeing some idiot walking down an abandoned street wearing a muzzle. I live opposite a school. Some parents are making their tiny children wear them. "What a great childhood! I remember having cloth over half my face most of the time."...

I spent most of the summer in bed (something else, I think/hope I’m fine now) and the experience seems to have rendered me a bit morbid. I am now, without exaggeration, convinced that if Justin (Totally Not Fidel Castro’s Son) said that cars should start “social distancing” because maybe they breathe or something half these people would be doing that exact thing an hour later. Because Science!

I hit a wall two days ago when I staggered out of bed a bit hungover in a bad mood and found this in the dining room. My mother subscribes. Whether she pays or not I don’t have the calories to investigate. I didn’t make it past page one, although I have perused this mag before. I mean, they have a regular contributor priest called Something MacDonald who has a beard and is slightly whiter than Fauxcahontas Warren (which is saying something) and is pretending to be Indian. Because it’s usually "Native Native First Nations Native" with these guys, except when it’s not "Black Black Black".

I thought Anglicanism was supposed to be a religion. Just look at this thing. What gets me is that everyone involved, by which I mean the subjects, the writers, the editors, the publishers, the subscribers, every single person except possibly the postman is completely full of it.

There's a South African priest whose profile is headlined "We can name the evil that is racism". How trailblazing. How original. Gosh, I bet they all stood up and applauded at your courage! I wonder if he can do anything else.

And then there's some chick who claims that she "...still remembers conversations from a church she attended years ago. The congregation constantly associated whiteness with purity and goodness, and darkness with evil. They talked about people being 'washed white' from the blackness of sin." Apparently this was "hurting me, it is damaging to my soul."

If that's true then she's a mental case, and if it's not true (which would be my guess) she's a liar and a talentless drama-queen. Or, best case scenario, a good con artist. But I'm basically cool with her. I don't have too many talents myself. It's the ageing "Anglican" or "United" or whichever denomination creeps who listen to her speeches and congratulate themselves on how wonderfully un-racist and woke etc. they are who make me sick.

She’s a pet to them. She’s miss "Blackity-black-black-black" who massages their ridiculous egos. Has she mentioned in the last 20 seconds that she’s black? I hope so. Otherwise, what's the point of her to these low IQ egomaniacs pretending to be religious leaders?

I remember P.J. O’Rourke – not, recently, a hero of mine – writing years ago that he was in the Philippines, listening to the state broadcaster, and palpably, physically felt that he couldn’t get "the hum of bullshit" out of his ear. That's how I feel now. I'm willing to believe that none of these people are exactly geniuses, but some of them have to be human enough to have some glimmer of self-awareness. Yet they do this anyway. Bastards.

From Ed. to Babylon Bee: Roger, Wilco

George Orwell nailed it, didn't he. Scraped from the Babylon Bee, our trusted source for Christian satire.

VIDEOS: Proud Boys declared a terrorist organization (?!)

Yesterday, the Proud Boys, founded by Gavin McInnes, was declared a terrorist organization amid an apparent crackdown on far-right violence. The action was taken, the government says, because Proud Boys members allegedly [There's that word again. Read: Nothing's been proven in court. Ed] took part in the January 6th "mostly peaceful demonstration" on the Capitol of the Excited States of America.

So it's only reasonable that Sleepy Joe Biden's shiny new administration would take action to suppress the Proud Boys... right? Except that the "government" referred to in the first paragraph was that of Canada, Justin "Mr Socks" Trudeau, Prop.

What? Really?! Why would the Canucks do that, when the alleged "attack" happened in Washington DC, 455 miles (as the Jim Crow flies) from the World's Second-coldest Capital? Surely it can't be because the Proud Boys was founded by a certified Canajan hoser, Gavin McInnes, whose comments and videos have been referenced many times on WWW.

You'll have to look quick to find those that have survived the censorship of YouTube. Many, such as the one embedded in "Gavin McInnes calls Canada 'a fucking mess'" (WWW 15/1/17) have already been consigned to the "memory hole".

Apparently the alleged "terrorism" is related to activities against the US of A and its alleged government, and thus is not the business of Canadian politicians. Think again. On January 25th, Canuckistan's House of Commons passed a motion proposed by the pinko New Democratic Party (which has been propping up Blackie McBlackface's minority Liberal government) calling on the said government to list the Proud Boys as terrorists. And so it did, becoming the first government of any country, anywhere, to designate the Proud Boys as terrorists, along with the likes of Blood & Honour, Combat 18, Atomwaffen and the Base.

The Hon. Bill Blair, who jumped from being Toronto's police chief to "Public Safety Minister" of Canuckistan, told the lickspittle meeja the "listing process" had been underway for months and the decision was "based on evidence, intelligence and the law," not politics. Since 2018, he said, Canadian authorities have noticed "an escalation of violence by the Proud Boys", making the group a "growing concern."

Walt wonders if anyone has taken the time to look into the origins and objectives of the Proud Boys. According to founder Gavin McInnes, it is not anti-American or even anti-Canadian, although I'm sure he stands by his description of Canada as a "fucking mess". (It's worse now than it was three years ago.) In fact -- the real facts, not the fake news disseminated by the Gliberals -- the Proud Boys is all about protesting the feminist emasculation of Western men, and standing up for true masculinity. Here are two videos in which Mr McInnes puts the record straight, and we do mean straight.

What Mr McInnes says is evidently not heard by "terrorism experts", like Prof. Amarnath Amarasingam, of Queen's University in Kingston ON. (I wonder if the words "Tamil Eelam" mean anything to him. But I digest.)

Sez the perfesser, "While the Proud Boys designation is a bit surprising, the others were a long time coming. Atomwaffen and the Base are only growing in size and violent rhetoric. They are also openly trying to recruit among more general far-right movements. Many of these groups have grown in their threat precisely because they are able to operate out in the open in terms of fundraising and recruiting. The listing should make all of this harder to do with impunity."

Aha! There's the nub of it. It is not illegal in Canada... yet... to belong to the Proud Boys or any other designated terrorist group, but it is illegal to support them by donating money, or even by buying their merch. Yes folks, you can go to jail for buying a Proud Boys tractor cap, tee or toque... or anything like this... or this... Of course you won't find it on Amazon, even though (((Jeff Bezos))) has stepped down, and it probably won't be long before it disappears from eBay too. But keep looking, and be PROUD to wear it!

Canada's top general latest victim of "Me Too"

Meet General Jonathan Holbert Vance, CMM, MSC, CD, recently --very recently -- retired from the Canadian Army. General Vance served as the chief of the Defence Staff of the Canadian Armed Forces from 2015 to 2021.

As reported here -- see "Canadian Armed Forces' 'Operation Hop on Her'", WWW 26/10/15 --  Jonboy was also the driving force behind Operation Honour, the military's PR campaign to quash sexual misconduct in the Canadian Forces, or at least stop people from talking about it.

But (as Walt reported) Canadian boys will be Canadian boys [except of course for those who haven't had the op yet. Ed.] It didn't take long for some uniformed wags to come up with a new name for the plan. Some recruits at the Royal Military College, as well as other Canadian Forces personnel including individuals at National Defence headquarters in Ottawa, transmuted "Op Honour" to "Hop On `Er". [Geddit? If not, imagine saying "Op Honour" with a French-Canadian accent. It's a pun! Ed.]

Now that General Vance has stepped down from his lofty position, some junior officers are suggesting that his alleged [We media professionals always say that. Ed.] behaviour undercut that initiative.

They say now that concerns about Jonboy's alleged relationships with female subordinates [Female! Nothing wrong with Jonboy. Ed.] were talked about among military leaders and in the defence community over the past several years, but no action was taken because "no official complaints were ever filed."

(That's the same excuse used by former Governor General Julie Payette, even though it was disclosed earlier this week that indeed a complaint had been lodged even while the investigation into her unregal behaviour was under way.)

Yesterday, the Canadian Forces announced it will investigate allegations about the former chief of the defence staff. National Defence spokesthingy Dan "the Man" Le Bouthillier said the investigation will be independent but added that the "specifics around any investigation have yet to be determined." In other words (translated from government-speak), they're going to investigate something, but they don't know what.

The investigation follows a report by Canada's Global News that General Vance allegedly had an ongoing relationship with a woman he significantly outranked. [Not a non-com, shurely! Ed.] Global also reported the general is alleged to have made a sexual suggestion [not to be confused with a suggestion related to sex and travel? Ed.] to a second, much younger soldier in 2012, before he was appointed chief of the defence staff. So presumably that doesn't count.

But wait, as Vince Offer (the SlapChop guy) used to say; there's more! "Sources" say concerns about allegations of General Vance's alleged behaviour were acknowledged among senior staff and their wives when the general was named as chief of the defence staff in 2015 by then Prime Minister Steve Harpoon.

Other generals were also aware of allegations and some National Defence headquarters staff discussed the situation among themselves but without formal complaints from the women they did nothing. Although the relationships may have been consensual, sources say there were concerns about the alleged "power-imbalance" of having a senior officer allegedly in a relationship with a woman in lower-ranked positions.

That's enough alleged allegations for today. We're certain General Vance is an officer and a gentleman. Or at least, he used to be. Ed.

VIDEO: Canuck groundhog predicts early spring

Well, it's Groundhog Day again.../// Well, it's Groundhog Day again.../// Well, it's Groundhog Day again... but you saw the movie right, so enough with the reference.

If you're from some other part of the world and have no idea what I'm talking about, the residense of northeastern North America have a superstition that if a groundhog (aka woodchuck, as in "How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?") sticks his head out of his burrow on February 2nd and sees his shadow, he gets frightened, goes back underground, and we'll have six more weeks of winter. If he doesn't see his shadow, it'll be an early spring.

Three groundhogs* have attained a degree of international fame [notority? Ed.] over the years, the best-known being Punxatawney (PA) Phil, featured in Groundhog Day, the movie. Walt, however, prefers Canada's Wiarton Willie. He lives so far north that he's white! OK, the original Willie was white; he died a couple of years ago and his successor appears to be the usual mousy brown. Anyway, he's better-positioned than Phil to notice the advance or retreat of winter weather. Watch this.

* Who's the third one (I hear you ask)? That would be Shubenacadie Sam, who lives way Down East in central Nova Scotia. If you want to go to wherever for next year's festivities... we should live so long... Walt recommends Wiarton. It's just down the road from Tobermory ON, at the tip of the Bruce Peninsula and therefore the Bruce Trail, the longest hiking trail in one state/province. You'd be unwise to try hiking the Trail in the dead of winter, but there you go...

And here's a follow-up from Blazing Cat Fur...
