Illegal immigrants racked up millions of $$$ in ID theft fraud

It's not just California (see my earlier post today) or the USA that has problems with crimes committed by illegal immigrants who get caught and deported, only to return and commit more crimes, again and again and again. Canuckistan has its problems too. All that changes, north of the world's longest absolutely undefended border is the nature of the crimes and the ethnicity of the criminals. For some reason, the farther north the "bad dudes" go, the darker they get.

I'm going to give you this story as it was published this morning on the government-owned CBC News website: "It was good while it lasted: the luxurious life of an alleged Toronto fraud crew". It's worth following the link just to see the veritable cornucopia of bad taste the fraudsters purchased with their ill-gotten gains. Although the CBC carefully refrains from mentioning the perps' ethnicity, you can pretty much tell from what they bought and what they wore what kind of people they were. (Hint: it's the same kind of stuff P.K. Subban sports. The story's subtitle: "Crocodile skin boots and a $146,000 moon dust watch among items seized from Yorkville apartment".) I'll save the stinger for the end of this post.

Crocodile skin boots, Italian suits and a watch made from actual moon dust are just some of the items Toronto Police have seized from a suspected fraud crew, but there's much, much more. These are just some the alleged proceeds of crime that police displayed on Tuesday as a result of an investigation dubbed Project Royal, which began in 2016:

90 pairs of shoes including a $10,000 pair of crocodile skin boots
Seven watches including a Romaine Jerome Moon Dust Automatic valued at $146,000
Designer clothing, jewellery, accessories and liquor valued at $390,000
Several pairs of sunglasses valued at $10,000
"It's the absurdity of the consumption that stands out," Detective Constable Mike Kelly said at media conference on Tuesday. "We had $2,000 just in skin moisturizer. It was unsual."

Comment from Walt: Bill Burr does a bit about how black people use "lotion" to keep from looking "ashey".

There was also $39,000 cash, 37 credit cards and hundreds of pieces of allegedly stolen mail among the items seized at a Yorkville condominium unit police say was also fraudulently paid for. Two Toronto men, aged 45 and 37, have been arrested and charged with several fraud related crimes and possession of the proceeds of crime. Police have also issued warrant for a third suspect, a 44 year-old, of Toronto. And a 47-year-old Toronto man who police say is also connected to the group is wanted in the United States.

Police allege the group stole pieces of mail, including bank statements, and that they were were in possession of the personal information of approximately 5,000 GTA residents. "You're talking about literally thousands of individuals all throughout the GTA whose information has been at least compromised," Kelly said.

Investigators say the group used that information to obtain credit cards, which they then used to fund their luxury lifestyles. The Yorkville condo was paid for with credit card cash advances, police say. The accused did most of their shopping in the Yorkville area, Kelly says, and in some cases, merchants may have known fraud was taking place or at least "looked the other way" when luxury goods were purchased on credit. Police say when questioned, the men would describe themselves as businessmen or tourists. One of the suspects, who resided in the upscale Yorkville condo, said he worked for a moving company.

Police don't believe any of the items were being sold. The only motivation behind the alleged fraud was "conspicuous consumption", Kelly said. All of the accused maintained social media profiles in which much of their glitzy lifestyle is documented.

And now... drum roll, please... rrrrrrrrrrrrrr... Walt reveals the names of the accused, as UNreported by the politically correct CBC. Adedayo Ogundana, Duro Akintola, and Adekunle Johnson Omitiran (pictured -- but not on CBC) don't sound like Irishmen to me. They are Africans, probably Nigerians or Ghanaians. Innocent questions: What is their immigration status in Canada... if any? And what is the Trudeau government's stance on the deportation of "undocumented migrants" who commit crimes?

Footnote:
The header of the Toronto CBC News website shows three of CBC Toronto's top "news" presenters. Not one of them is a white male. Who is responsible for CBC Toronto's anti-white bias? Step forward Susan Marjetti, former CBC Toronto station manager and winner of every conceivable award for promoting "diversity". Time to retire, now, Susan. Your work in Toronto is done.

Great White North not so white anymore, eh

Not so great either...

StatsCan (aka Statistics Canada) today released the first batch of results its 2011 "voluntary" National Household Survey, which replaced the mandatory long-form census cancelled by order of Prime Minister Steve "Stephen" Harper because [Ed., please call them -- 1-800-263-1136 -- and see if you can find out the reason.]

The findings should delight the apostles of multiculturalism, secular humanism, diversity and unrestricted immigration. Why? Because what the Survey reveals, in a nutshell, is that your average Canadian no longer looks like this.

Not-so-typical Canadians

Here, in no particular order, are some highlights, although if you're a native-born Canuck you may prefer the term "lowlights".
  • Canada was home to an estimated 6,775,800 immigrants in 2011, comprising 20.6% of the population — more than ever before and the highest proportion of all G8 countries.
  • About 1,162,900 foreign-born people immigrated to Canada between 2006 and 2011 -- that would be on Harper's watch -- making up 17.2% of the foreign-born population and 3.5% of Canada's total population. [Ed., don't call Statscan. I've figured it out now.]
  • 1,400,685 people identified themselves as aboriginal (First Nations, Innu, Indians, Eskimos or all of the above) in 2011, representing 4.3% of the Canadian population.
  • Aboriginal peoples accounted for 3.8% of the population in 2006, 3.3% in 2001 and 2.8% in 1996.
  • The aboriginal population grew by 20.1% -- 232,385 people -- between 2006 and 2011, compared with 5.2% for non-aboriginal people.
  • Aboriginal children aged 14 and under made up 28% of Canada's total aboriginal population, while their non-aboriginal counterparts represented 16.5% of all non-aboriginals.
  • Almost half (48.1%) of all children aged 14 and under in foster care in Canada in 2011 were aboriginal children.
  • More than 200 different ethnic origins were reported in the 2011 survey, with 13 of them representing more than a million people each.
  • Nearly 6,264,800 people identified themselves as "visible minorities" (aka "vizmins"), representing 19.1% of the population. 65% of them were born outside Canada.
  • South Asians (= Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Sri Lankans), Chinese and blacks accounted for 61.3% of the visible minority population, followed by Filipinos, Latin Americans, Arabs, Southeast Asians, West Asians, Koreans and Japanese.
  • 7.8 million people, 23.9% of the population, reported having no religious affiliation.
Don't call, write or e-mail me to tell me I'm being racist. Those are the Canadian government's figures, and we all know the Dear Leader's regime is nothing if not politically correct.

The Canadian media are making a meal of these statistics, with major dailies running two or three or even four stories each, with opinion pieces yet to come. Here are some of the headlines Walt has seen.

Immigration dramatically changing makeup of Toronto and Canada (Hardly news to Torontonians, and certainly not to CBC Radio which for years now has been giving airtime to people with unintelligble accents in order to be "sounding the way Toronto looks".)

Canada's non-Christian population growing (It's not the immigrants who are identifying themselves as having no religion.)

Aboriginal population young and growing fast (Consider the implications next time you're driving through Caledonia ON.)

Young, suburban and mostly Asian: Canada's immigrant population surges past 20% (Higher in some localities. Hello Mississauga!)

Muslim population is fastest growing religion in Canada, census shows (Ignore the dreadful grammar. But do the math. How long before Canada has an Islamist government?)

Nearly half of Canada's children in foster care are Aboriginal, new census-replacement shows (Some problem with the People?)

One in five Canadians born elsewhere (Somewhere less to their liking, presumably)

Immigrant underclass in GTA fuels simmering frustrations (Begs the question: who's simmering and who's really hot? Amazing, though, that the Toronto Red Star would actually use the word "underclass")

Canadians losing their religion, survey shows (Should read "Native-born Canadians...")

Why the census may not be entirely accurate (Eh? You mean it could be worse?)

Canucks have few answers for this year's meltdown [I think that's actually a sports headline. Ed.]

Walt has no further comment except to say to the uninitiated that the typical Canadian hosers pictured above are Bob and Doug McKenzie, hosts of the "Great White North" segment on the cult classic SCTV sketch comedy series. The "brothers" developed that bit at the urging of the CBC, which felt the show should have more Canadian content. Of course that was 30 years ago.

Hey whitey! You'll never work for the CBC again!

Canadians who listen to the CBC -- and yes, there are many -- are aware of its blatant liberal (and Liberal) bias in favour of all things politically correct.

Examples include CBC Radio's Toronto flagship station, proudly "sounding like Toronto looks", which means speaking with incomprehensible Caribbean and South Asian accents. For a while there they couldn't figure out how to pander to the LGBT community, but recently they've hired a couple of audibly gay "news reporters" -- Jermaine and Trevor -- who lisp their way through their cute little stories.

Even Hockey Night in Canada -- happy 60th anniversary!!! -- has a PC lineup of "analysts", including one blonde bimbo who seems unfamiliar with the players, and one black ex-player who is very careful not to sound too black.

That's right, nobody celebrates diversity like the CBC. But now we finally  have confirmation of our suspicions that diversity and "minorities" are being promoted to the exclusion of straight white males. If you're one of those -- now an endangered species in Toronto -- you can forget about working for the CBC.

Where's Walt's proof? Why, right here!

That's a recruitment ad for the host of a children’s show -- Patty and Mamma Yama. It was placed on Craigslist by Larissa Mair Casting and Associates Inc., a casting agency hired by "Kids'CBC", whose logo appears in the ad.

In case you're having trouble reading it, the ad says you should "...only submit [an audition tape] if you match the following criteria: Male between the ages of 23-35 years; Any race except Caucasian."

A new version of the ad removes the race reference, but maintains the sex and age criteria, which Agent 3 says is contrary to Ontario's labour standards laws and the province's human rights code.

Why would the casting agency flout the laws enacted years ago to protect everyone from discrimination on the basis of gender, race, religion, age etc etc? Larissa Mair, the agency's chief cook and bottlewasher, is prepared to take the fall. She told the National Post "We were asked to seek a cast of diversity. We mistakenly took that to mean that the production was not seeking Caucasian actors. This was a mistake that was made entirely by the casting company."

Pretty big of Ms Mair to carry the can, because the truth is that the original ad is right on the money in its description of the kind of on-air personalities the CBC wants -- any race except white! Let's hear from Chuck "Chuck" Thompson, head of media relations for CBC English Services:
"At CBC, inclusion and diversity is a priority. This means reflecting Canada and its regions as well as the country’s multicultural and multiracial nature... We are now reaching out to our partners in production to ensure that a concerted and documented effort be made…to cast actors who reflect Canada’s diversity."

In other words, no whites need apply. Any white man who has applied for this or any other in-front-of-the-camera job at CBC and got as far as the interview stage is invited to let Walt know. I'm always happy to set the record straight. (Lifetime pct .990)

Update: Further proof positive of the CBC's anti-white anti-male bias emerged today. Check out "The CBC’s ‘no whites’ policy is a mistake, but no accident" by Matt Gurney, in today's National Post. Matt! Take it to the Human Rights Commission!

And just by coincidence... the mailman [letter carrier! Ed.] brought Walt's Economist today. Its cover story is a "briefing" called "Time to scrap affirmative action". There's an editorial (or "leader", as the Brits say) with the same title. Here's a quote: "If Barack Obama's daughters apply to a university, judge them on their academic prowess, not the colour of their skin." More on this anon.

Cherry picking on Haiti

He knows dogs, and he knows hockey. And now, it seems, he knows Haiti. Yesterday Canada's Mouth of the North, Don Cherry, weighed in on the topic of handing out zillions in foreign aid to nations notorious for corruption.

Here's what "Donless" said in a series of tweets on @CoachsCornerCBC.

"You know, I am one of those guys, like most people in Canada, we like to help the countries all over the world. But sometimes it makes you wonder. Maybe it's just me. But Canada gave Haiti 49.5 million dollars last year. Are we nuts? We've got a guy dying in Toronto waiting 3 hours for an ambulance.

"We got people waiting 7, 8, 10 hours, if they're lucky in a waiting room with one doctor for a zillion people. We nickel and dime our doctors, nurses and veterans plus a million other services. Yet we can send almost 50 million to Haiti.

"I'll tell you something. The working guy is getting kind of sick of people spending money like that. It's a good job we got a good guy like Julian Fantino, with a little common sense, in charge.

"50 million? I wonder how much have we given them over the years? Let's smarten up. As the old saying goes, charity begins at home. Am I right or is it just me?"

"Don, you're right!" Walt can hear millions of Canadians saying just that. What you're saying sounds a lot like what Walt has been saying for years, most notably in "Canada gives up on Haiti, freezes foreign aid" a couple of days ago.

Is anyone listening? The minister in charge -- Julian Fantino, whom Don referred to -- said he would be calling Cherry to thank him for his support.

Of course the chattering classes and the lamestream media heard Don's rant too, or at least heard about it. The oh-so-PC producers of CBC Radio's Metro Morning (aka "The Herald of Multiculturalism" -- "sounding like Toronto looks") devoted an entire segment to attacking Cherry's "racism". That would be the same "racism" with which the majority of Canucks in TROC (The Rest Of Canada) agree. But they don't listen to Metro Morning anyway.

Another portion of the same propaganda broadcast -- for that's all Metro Morning is -- featured the usual gang of bleeding heart liberals decrying the "racism" of those who are opposed to the Idle No More "movement". Walt will explain that later today. For now, kudos to Don for being the voice of real Canadians, no matter what the Volvo liberals call him.

Toronto experiences benefits of immigration and multiculturalism

Not for nothing is Toronto known as the most multicultural city in North America. Maybe the world. Thanks to an influx of millions of third-world asylum-seekers, refugees (bogus and otherwise), and immigrants (some of them legal), Toronto is chock-full of vizmins, all rubbing along together in peace and harmony.

Well, sort of. Toronto does have its ghettos, or as the CBC calls them, "communities". The official term is "priority communities", and if you can convince any level of government that you're dark and violent enough to "need support and nurturing" from your hosts, they'll build basketball courts and community centres for you, and give you money for parades and multiculti events.

Even if you don't get big bucks from the federal or provincial Ministries of Multicult, there's always enough left over from welfare to throw a big block party every now and then. Such as the BBBBQ -- Big Black Barbecue -- in Scarborough last night.

Seems that, as sometimes happens at these things, there was a spot of trouble involving, errr, partygoers. Toll so far: 2 shot dead, 19 injured in the crossfire, and 3 trampled in the crush. Toronto police chief "Old Bill" Blair called it "The worst incident of gun violence … anywhere in North America". Ah yes, Toronto is definitely a world-class city... or at least continent-class!

The Globe and Mail has a slideshow this morning. Have a look and you'll notice the multiracial reality of Toronto. Ah yes, blacks and whites together. But, errr, the white people all seem to be cops. The others are, errr, not cops.

What Walt finds funny -- funny curious, not funny haha -- is that not one of three Toronto papers Walt has checked (so far) makes any mention of the fact that this was a black "community event". The victims are black, the perps are black, everybody's black except the cops.

That's the way it is in "Scarlam". Everyone knows there's a problem with gun violence in Toronto's "black community", but the lamestream media and ultra-PC polilticians absolutely refuse to talk about it.

Meanwhile, the more peaceful folks of Toronto's not-so-black communities must be wondering what they have to do to be safe during this latest summer of the gun. Walt has a suggestion. Move to Detroit!

Message for George Zimmerman: Could you please call Chief Blair. He wants you to come to Toronto as a consultant to the police.

Correction: It has come to our attention that "big black barbecue", as used above, is politically incorrect. The Toronto Star describes it as a "big BLOCK barbecue". So sorry.

In Toronto you can't describe a killer as a nagger

On Boxing Day, 2005, post-Christmas shoppers looked on in horror as 15-year-old Jane Creba was shot in broad daylight outside Toronto's Eaton Centre. She wasn't the intended victim, just an innocent bystander who got caught in the crossfire of a gunfight between two gangs. Those involved, a couple of whom were actually convicted years later, were, errr, gentlemen of the coloured persuasion. "Coloured", as in "black".

Walt had something to say about this just over two years ago in "Another example of racist over-policing". One of the points I was trying to make is that it's no longer politically correct to refer to the gangstas as "black" or "coloured" or the most offensive word in the English language. And you can't say "African-American" since they're almost invariably "Jamaican-Canadian". That's a fact. The police know it, anyone who's not wilfully blind knows it, and the media knows it. But...the media won't say it, because it's not PC.

Fast forward to the same locale -- the Eaton Centre -- yesterday around 6 p.m. Pandemonium erupted at the largest shopping mall in downtown Toronto after a shooter fired a hail of bullets into a food court packed with weekend shoppers. A 25-year-old man was killed. Seven other people were injured by the gunfire, and scores more crushed or trampled in the frenzied mass exodus that followed the shooting spree.

Toronto police, in a sudden and unusual display of acuity, think the was a targeted one, which caught innocent bystanders in the middle. The boys in blue [or black? Ed.] vowed to track the suspect down.

Do we have a description of the gunman? Indeed we do. A witness said the shooter was "a dark-skinned man wearing a hoody and baggy pants." That narrows it down to about 20,000 denizens of North America's most multicultural city, but hey, it's a start.

Toronto, unusually for a North American city, has no fewer than four more-or-less daily newspapers: the Toronto Sun, the Toronto Star, the Globe and Mail and the National Post. (The latter two like to refer to themselves as "national" newspapers but are in fact written and edited -- sort of -- in Toronto.)

How many of those papers printed that description, or any reference whatsoever to the race of the perp? Just one. Three cheers for the Sun and a PC raspberry to the three who are too timid to call a spade a spade.

CBC Radio needs to demonstrate commitment to multicult

Memo to Susan Marjetti, station manager of CBC Radio One, Toronto. (Walt knows that -- as a toon always responds to shave-and-a-haircut -- you can't resist reading something with your name in it.)

Susan, you have not yet demonstrated to the Canadian Ministry of Enforced Diversity that you have done everything possible to make your station "sound like Toronto looks".

The problem is that it's radio, not TV. Some of the presenters and guests, especially on your execrable morning drive-time show, may well be members of oppressed minority groups, but we don't always know that. We can't see whether they're brown, black, white or striped.

It's pretty easy to pick out the Jamaicans, Colombians, Indians and gays by sound along. But some of the accents are indistinguishable, at least to Walt's Toronto-based agents. It's hard to tell the Congolese from the Haitians. And some of the less recently arrived vizmins have virtually no accent, so they sound pretty much "white-bread"...or white-bred.

There's a problem though with the LGBT crowd, not so much the hissing homos but the lesbians, who sometimes sound like, errr, female business executives. And let's not forget the disabled, "locomotion-challenged", "vision-impaired" or whatever the latest PC terms are. Unless they say something like "I'm blind", how are listeners supposed to know.

So, here's Walt's suggestion. At the start of each interview or commentary, could the host please say which box is being checked, like this: "The next speaker is a black, transgendered, homeless double amputee." Then we can keep score, kind of like listening to a baseball broadcast.

Yours for diversity... Walt

Arrest made in multiracial Yonge Street stomp

Agent 3 sends along another update on the Toronto stomping which has become a big video hit on the Internet. Toronto police have moved with surprising alacrity [quickly, too! Ed.] to arrest one of the perps, a 15-year-old girl from Brampton, whose identity is protected under Canada's Be Kind to Young Criminals Act.

Agent 3, who grew up in Brampton, refers to the city as "the Jane-Finch Extension". He says readers will know what he means. He has now moved to "a lighter part of Canada".

Meanwhile, CBC Radio's Toronto flagship station -- "Sounding like Toronto looks" -- jealous as hell of its TV cousin ["Looking like Toronto looks"? Ed.] has broadcast the audio portion of the now-infamous video.

Why they would do this is a mystery, given that the sound alone makes it clear that the stompee was white and the stompers were, errr, not white. Another example of the racial harmony and we's-all-brothers mentality for which Toronto is renowned.

Kemi still on the lam in Canada

Walt knows some Toronto-area readers are huge fans of Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo. Don't even try to say it; let's just call her "Kemi O". Ms O is a Nigerian [I'd never have guessed that. Ed.] who migrated to the USA, and then, having worn out her welcome there, came to Canada as a fugitive from the US justice systems. She has been in Toronto for a number of years, and makes her living by selling drugs. Check out "The skinny on Kemi" for details.

In her spare time, the lovely Kemi is a self-appointed consultant to and spokesthingy for Toronto's sizeable "black community". Her brief is to make the racist Canadians understand that black-on-black crime -- running at an average of one shooting per weekend -- has nothing to do with the face that the victims and the perps are, errr, black. And, errr, mostly Jamaican too. Just a coincidence, because the Somalis shoot each other too, dontcha know. Oh, that's in Edmonton. Well, anyway...it's definitely not just a "Jamaican thing".

And even if it is, Kemi tells us today, it's not the fault of the young Jamaicans involved because, you see, they aren't really Jamaicans. A lot of them were born in Canada -- to baby mommas and Jamaican daddies who seem to have vanished -- so that makes them Canadians! Just plain, unhyphenated Canadians, unlike the Italians and Ukrainians and Dutch, who still think of themselves as Italian-Canadian or whatever.

Walt is not making this up. I'm referring to an article which appeared (briefly) in the online edition of today's Toronto Sun. Ed. was on his coffee break and forgot to bookmark it, so I can't give you a link, but trust me, it was there!

Ms O was commenting on the traditional Thanksgiving Day murder, which occurred on Monday (Canadian Thanksgiving) right on schedule, just as it has for the last seven years. All the victims were Jamaicans or Jamaican-Canadians or black Canadians -- whatever -- and if any of the murderers are ever apprehended they will almost certainly be from the same "community".

Kemi told the Sun's Chris Doucette that the young men's delinquency is the fault of Canadian society, for failing to give them the education, social services etc etc to which their Canadian birth entitles them. Obviously. If only, instead of building more jails, the Canadian government had provided more basketball courts, more legal shooting galleries and more recording studios for aspiring rap artists. Without these things, is it any wonder they turn to a life of crime!

Investigations of the murders have been largely fruitless, owing to the racism of the Toronto police and, errr, the reluctance of the "community" to rat out the local Cripps and Bloods and other gangstas. It seems, too, that the Toronto cops haven't been in any hurry to check on Kemi's immigration status -- or lack thereof -- or extradite her to Georgia, where a warrant for her arrest is still outstanding.

PS - What's up with the love affair between Chris Doucette and Ms O? With the possible exception of CBC's Radio One ("We sound the way Toronto looks!") nobody but nobody, other than Chris, pays the slightest attention to Kemi's rants. Why would he do that? Surely it can't be that he's physically attracted to her!

Fed up with CBC Toronto? Contact Susan!

Following the appearance of "CBC to white audience: if you don't like CBC Toronto, move!", Walt heard from a number of disgruntled denizens who are fed up with the steady stream of black news [excluding the crime news. Ed], black spokespersons and black "music" on CBC Toronto's drivetime radio shows.

You're welcome to complain to me, but the person who should really be getting your irate comments is Susan Marjetti -- wrong identified as Susan Marjerine in the previous post -- who is Managing Director of Local Programming at CBC Toronto. Her phone number is 416-205-5791. You'll find an e-mail link here. Or you can write by snail mail to: Susan Marjetti, CBC Toronto, P.O. Box 500, Toronto, Ontario, M5W 1E6.

When calling or writing, try to be polite and not use any politically incorrect language. I'm not sure you're even allowed to say "black". What you might do, though, is remind Ms Marjetti that whites have rights too!

Hey... that's not a bad slogan! WHITE HAVE RIGHTS TOO! Wonder if any politician or party will have the cojones to adopt it. You're welcome.

CBC to white audience: if you don't like CBC Toronto, move!

A few days ago the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation announced its relaunch as TMN. Today brings another announcement from the Corpse, this time directed at listeners to its Toronto flagship radio station.

A just-released audience survey has revealed that the majority of listeners to the Toronto outlet of CBC Radio One are white, middle-class, avid gardeners, and like listening to MOR (Middle of the Road) music.

Unfortunately for them, and for the CBC, the local programmes aired on the Toronto station -- particularly in the morning and afternoon "drive time" slots -- are aimed squarely at Toronto's vizmins. As Walt reported previously, CBC's Metro Morning and Here and Now have been ordered to make their programmes "sound the way Toronto looks".

That means a steady diet of rap, reggae and hip hop. (Notice I didn't say "music".) It also means that the producers will not rest until every living, breathing vizmin and LGBT spokesthingy has been given 5 or 10 minutes to preach the gospel of diversity and political correctness. No wonder that the neglected white audience tunes in for the news and weather and promptly tunes out again.

Now, Walt can reveal, the CBC has come up with an answer to the many complaints of its former listeners. Those who don't like the sound of TMN Toronto are being advised to relocate to western or eastern Ontario, where they can be served by local broadcasts originating in Windsor, London or Ottawa.

Said Managing Director Susan Marjerine, "Naturally, there will be protests from the usual 'Fed Up in Rosedale' dinosaurs, but they must be ignored in the cause of building a diversity template that reflects our multicultural Toronto audience demographic."

Asked what she meant by that, Ms Marjerine replied that she had no idea and would get back to Walt next week.

CBC to be renamed TMN Canada

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation -- known across Canada as "the Corp" [corpse, surely! Ed.] -- has released its fecal roster: "17 RETURNING SHOWS FOR THE 2011-12 SEASON" Even if you ignore the block capitals and the bad grammar, the announcement is not exactly BIG NEWS. It ranks right up there with "CBC INVESTIGATION CATCHES BEAR DEFECATING IN WOODS" and "CBC REVEALS POPE HAS CATHOLIC LEANINGS".

One of the "shows" which is being renewed for a 40th season [Is this right? Doesn't it just seem like 40? Ed.] is the truly execrable Little Mosque on the Prairie, which Walt has excorciated before as the paradigm of the Canadian failure at sitcoms.

The premise of Little Mosque is ludicrous, the writing lame and the acting cataleptic. Audience numbers are said to be lower than Bev Oda's IQ. Walt hears that sponsors are forced to buy it as part of packages with better-rated programmes. So why does it keep getting renewed?

The only reason I can think of is that to cancel it would be politically incorrect -- a slap in the face to muticulturalism, which in spite of its admitted failure in other countries is still the official policy of the government of Canada -- and therefore the CBC.

Those in the Toronto area who still listen to the radio are treated to CBC Toronto's no less PC Metro Morning, which will not rest until it has interviewed every single vizmin and LGBT spokesthingy in the Wormy Apple. Why? Because CBC must "sound like Toronto looks". No kidding. They use that as an advertising tag line.

Will the insanity never stop? Rumour has it that the Corpse's next announcement will be a change of name to The Multicultural Network Canada -- a "TMN" to compete with CNN and TSN. PBUT.

CBC Toronto: voice of the ghetto?

Walt listens to CBC Radio. For readers outside of Canada, CBC is the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (sometimes referred to as the Canadian Broadcorping Castration), the government-owned public broadcaster. CBC's Radio One has a number of excellent news and current affairs programs -- As It Happens, The House, The Current -- some of which are picked up by NPR or models for NPR programs.

Since the CBC network stretches over six time zones, from coast to coast to coast -- A mari usque ad mare and all that -- it naturally has local programming suitable to the differing needs of audiences in Toronto and "the regions".

The top programs on Toronto's "flagship station" are Metro Morning (the wake-up show) and Here and Now (the drive-home show). Both programs feature affable hosts, friendly on-air personalities and lots of news and chatter.

In recent years, though, in the CBC's eternal quest to be all things to all people, they've started to include bits of "music" in what used to be an all-talk format. And since CBC Toronto panders shamelessly to its "vizmin" audience (both of them), the so-called "music" is mostly what I would call "ghetto pop". If it's not black African, then it's black American, or African-American (the ultimate oxymoron). Every now and then, for a change, we get some salsa or other Latin-American sounds.

Walt is sick, sore and tired of it! If we must have music (why?), then how about some music for the rest of us? How about some chansons canadiennes? Or down-east fiddling? Or country? Or, if we must "sing with many voices", how about some μπουζούκι? Or a polka or Гопак? Or a tarantella or a Bollywood number or something in Chinese? Anything but this endless stream of "ghetto music" -- another oxymoron!

Memo to Susan Marjetti, Regional Director of CBC Radio: You have listeners outside Toronto's black and Latino ghettos! "Multiculturalism" includes our cultures too!
