VIDEO: Is wind power really the way to a clean, green future?

The "progressives", including the recently arrested Saint Greta Thunberg, keep telling us that to rid the world of all the pollution caused by oil and gas, and save the world from burning up, we must convert to "green power", aka renewable resources, NOW.

Solar power and wind power are just what we need (they keep saying) because they're clean, efficient, non-polluting, and above all safe. Is eco-wienie putting up a forest of wind turbines in your back 40? What could possibly go wrong? Check out this video taken recently in Adair County, Iowa.

   

The video, from Des Moines TV station KCCI, shows smoke billowing from the wind turbine, and a giant blade crashing to the ground in flames. Emergency crews could only watch as they didn't have ladders tall enough to reach the top of the turbine. 

Authorities said they were investigating the cause of the fire. I'm waiting for Hellery Clinton to blame those deplorable MAGA terrorists.

Footnote: That black stuff dripping down the pole looks to me like molten plastic. Plastic?! Are the blades and other fittings made of PLASTIC?! Don't the greenies know that plastic is made of, errr, oil?

VIDEO: Iowa Democrat shocked to learn Pete has same-sex partner!

A little vignette from Monday's Iowa Democratic (sic) caucuses has been floating around the Internet. Here you see a Christian lady who had signed a card for Pete Buttigieg asking for her vote back after learning to Mayor Pete has a husband.



The unnamed lady is quite right. The Bible says marriage is for a man and a woman. But Holy Scripture goes beyond that, condemning homosexual acts absolutely. Walt pointed this out in one of the first ever posts on WWW (9/7/09), "Homosexuality condemned in the Word of God". In spite of the efforts of the secular humanists and (alleged) Pope Francis to downplay the Scriptural injunction against this sin, the words of God remain unchanged.

With 71% of the Iowa Democratic caucus vote now reported, allegedly accurately, it appears that the "wife" ["partner", shurely! Ed.] of Chasten Glazen (aka Chasten Buttigieg) received 26.8% of the vote, just ahead of (((Bernie Sanders))) who got 25.2%. That's good for 10 delegates each to the nominating convention. Fauxcahontas got 18.4% of the votes, and four delegates. Old Joe Biden reportedly got 15.4%, and, errr, ZERO delegates.

That could all change. 29% of the votes cast are still unreported, as Dumbocrat minions go door-to-door across the frozen, snow-covered fields [Stop it! Ed.] to retrieve the paper ballots cast by caucus-goers. Whether the lady in the video ever got her vote back remains a mystery.

UPDATED AGAIN: Iowa caucuses: BIG RIG in progress

As a watery sun rises over the frozen, snow-covered cornfields of Iowa, [Get on with it. Ed.] voters, observers and the commentariat are waiting to pick over the entrails of the Iowa Democratic caucuses to determine who won, who lost, and who was most likely to become the Democratic candidate for the presidensity. Will it be (((Bernie Sanders))), Old Joe Biden, Fauxcahontas, or the paler, gayer version of the Prez, Pete Buttigieg?

But Houston, we have a problem! Hours after the polls closed, the number of precincts reporting results was 0 (ZERO). Dumbocratic officials told skeptical onlookers that there were "reporting issues" and "inconsistencies" which meant that vote tallies, and the number of convention delegates to be allotted to each candidate, would not be available until, errr, later today. Translation: We didn't get the result we wanted so we're bringing in experts from Chicago and Philadelphia to sort things out. Shorter translation: Rigging is still in progress.

I'm reminded of the 2008 presidential election in the Democratic Republic of Zimbabwe, which has been ruled by one party, ZANU-PF, ever since the country was "liberated" from the hated colonialists in 1980. In 2008, ZANU-PF's Comrade R.G. Mugabe was opposed by Morgan Tsvangirai, candidate of the Movement for Democratic Change. The waters were muddied by the presence of an "independent" candidate put up by ZANU-PF to split the opposition vote.

Early results from the first round of voting showed Mr Tsvangirai in the lead, to the consternation of the government-controlled Electoral Commission, which responded by suspending counting so that certain "reporting issues" and "inconsistencies" could be cleared up. Sound familiar?

Weeks later it was announced that Comrade Bob had topped the polls, but had failed to garner 50% + 1 of the votes, so a second round would need to be held. The election process was marred by violence against and intimidation of voters and opposition party workers, which eventually led to Mr Tsvangirai's withdrawal from the poll, leaving Mr Mugabe the winner.

Back to Iowa now. As Thomas Luongo wrote yesterday in "Can Bernie and Tulsi Survive Hillary's 'Urge' to Save the DNC?", the Democratic National Committee has its hair on fire at the prospect of (((Bernie Sanders))), a certified [certifiable? Ed.] anti-establishment democratic socialist, becoming the party's nominee. Even the 1/1028th Native American Senator from Massachusetts would be marginally more acceptable to American voters, they reckon, than the Brooklyn-born Jew.

Trouble is, Iowa Democrats didn't appear to agree. A number of polls showed Senator Sanders neck-and-neck with Mr Biden for the lead, with Senator Warren and Mayor Pete battling for third place, well behind the leaders.

What to do?! How about taking advantage of confusion caused by new rules to delay any announcement until paper ballots, tally sheets etc could be collected and "verified", in order to be certain that their preferred candidate -- step forward, Joe Biden -- had indeed won.

Wasn't it just last week that Rep. Adam Schiff  (D-CA) told the Senate that they must take away from Still-President Trump the power to rig elections, because the American people can't be depended on to make the right decision? The voters, he suggested, could be led astray by, for instance, the interference of foreign powers, and might be fooled into re-electing Mr Trump. So the Senate, Mr Schiff said, should pre-empt that possibility by removing Mr Trump from office and ensuring that he could never run again.

Is it possible that the DNC likewise doesn't trust Iowa Democrats to make the right decision? Is that why we're still waiting, as a watery sun rises over the frozen, snow-covered cornfields [Enough! Ed.] for the officially approved results of caucuses which began over 12 hours ago? Just askin'...

Footnote: The Iowa Democratic Party is saying now that the problem was a "coding issue" found in the app used to record and report votes. Robby Mook [Who he? Ed.] had nothing to do with it! Mr Mook was a campaign manager for Hellery Clinton, and was part of the project Defending Digital Democracy (DDD) — an initiative aimed at protecting elections from cyberattack — that tested the app ahead of the botched caucus.

UPDATE ADDED 5/2/20: The New York Post reports that the Democratic National Committee is "taking over" the accounting of results from Monday's botched caucus count as state party operatives remain unable to provide a timeline for releasing the remainder of the tally. I think we all know what that means! (((Bernie Sanders))) came close to winning so the vote tallies will have to be "verified" to bolster the totals for Mayor Pete. Stay tuned...

UPDATE ADDED 6/2/20: In case you didn't stay tuned, here's the latest from the backroom boyz at the DNC. This morning, chairman Tom Perez demanded that Iowa state officials immediately recanvass the caucus vote, amid fears that the delayed results could be "inaccurate or inauthentic." [Ya think? Ed.]

"Enough is enough," tweeted Chairman Tom. "In light of the problems that have emerged in the implementation of the delegate selection plan and in order to assure public confidence in the results, I am calling on the Iowa Democratic Party to immediately begin a recanvass." Looks from here like they're going to keep doing it until they get it "right" (read: not left).

Democrats shun Hellery; Walt predicts old white man will win Iowa

I know Agent 2 and others who dislike the A-word will be miffed at seeing this meme, but the good folks over at Blazing Cat Fur thought it went well with the following story, and I liked it enough to copy it.

Naomi Lim, writing in the Washington Examiner yesterday, says "Hillary Clinton is finding out what it's like to be on the long list of Democratic also-rans. The party has, for years, discarded losing presidential candidates such as George McGovern, Walter Mondale, and Michael Dukakis, among others — to the point that they're often treated as contagious diseases, seen at best as cautionary tales about how not to campaign for the White House. Fair or not, Clinton has, in many ways, had that dishonor bestowed on her."

Ms Lim refers to Friday night's Iowa campaign rally for Senator (((Bernie Sanders))), at which the well-known Muslim human rights activist [an oxymoron, shurely! Ed.] Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) booed Hellery from the stage. Referring to Mrs Bill Clinton's recent comments bashing the 78-year-old socialist candidate, Ms Tlaib said, "You all know I can't be quiet. No, we're gonna boo. That's all right. The haters will shut up on Monday when we win."

Mrs Clinton angered Dems when she said in an interview that she would be reluctant to support her 2016 nemesis should he secure the Democratic nomination for the presidensity this year. Many prominent Dumbocrats, Ms Lim writes, are wary about hearing from her anymore. She quotes Tommy Vietor — a former Obama administration official who worked on the 2008 Obama campaign that dashed Hellery's White House hopes back then — as calling her remarks about Mr Sanders "inexcusable".

"If Bernie wins the nomination, we all need to work our asses off to help him win," Mr Vietor tweeted. "If someone else is the nominee, we all do the same for them. Don't kick up this bullshit right before Iowa, especially after complaining about Bernie's lack of support in 2016." Ms Lim also quotes Democratic strategist Brad Bannon, who blasted Mrs Clinton's "popping off" at Sanders as "uncalled for" given "the main goal of Democrats is to beat Donald Trump." Mr Bannon also slammed her for "prioritizing herself over party unity."

Iowans are heading into their complex and arcane caucus meetings as I write. All of America -- or at least those who care -- will have to wait another 12 hours or so to learn which of the dozen or so Democratic presidential wannabes will be favoured by the states Democratic voters (George and Nancy Schmidt) to take on Still-President Trump. For what it's worth, Walt predicts the winner, by an RCH [an engineering term, I believe? Ed.], will be (((Bernie Sanders))). Or maybe Old Joe Biden. Who cares... Lifetime pct .991.

Heart-warming: a boy and his cow

Amidst all the drama of Charlottesville, Guam, "social justice", BLM and what have you, it's good to be reminded that there is another side to America and Americans that the lamestream media doesn't often show us. Here's a photo published in the Des Moines Register yesterday, showing Mitchell Miner (15, from Williamsburg IA) and Audri, his heifer, resting after a showing at the Iowa state fair.

"She likes to lay down quite a bit," Miner told the Register on Monday. "I don't really understand the bond with my animal either. She just enjoys my company."

I'm not posting this photo to get a cheap laugh or be snide about Middle America. I just like it.

Groundhog Day: Hellery sees her shadow

Let me be clear. I'm tired of the political correctness, liberal insanity and general mediocrity with which the failed Obama administration has saddled the USA. I want America to be great again! But that doesn't mean that I would vote for The Donald or that I was displeased with the results of last night's Iowa caucuses.

The higher Donald Trump's star rose [not in the East, surely! Ed.], the more worrisome the question of what would happen to the Republic Party if he won the nomination. Even more so the question of what would happen to the USA if he beat Hillary Clinton into the Oval Office. The prospect was frightening to the point of being inconceivable to those who take America and its politics at all seriously.

Many pundits predicted that a Trump candidacy would see large numbers of rank-and-file Republicans desert the party, leaving the field open for Hellery. A Trump win would thus see another Clinton in the White House, with Ole Bill right behind her, pulling the strings. Pulling the strings! (Ooops, just had a flash from Ed Wood there.)

The Trump campaign is far from over though. I wouldn't be surprised if he won New Hampshire. (Lifetime pct .972.) And his candidacy has been good for the GOP in that it has moved the party well to the right of where it would be had Jeb Bush [Who he? Ed.] emerged as a contender. A year ago Ted Cruz was all but written off as a right-wing nut. As of this morning he's the front-runner, due in no small measure to his being unafraid to proclaim his Christian Faith. Well done, that man!

Also noteworthy is Marco Rubio's strong third place finish. Mr. Rubio is acceptable to the Republican establishment as well as conservatives, and would do well with Hispanic voters. A Cruz-Rubio ticket would be very strong, even if Mr. Trump went off in a huff and ran as an independent. That the Republicans could offer voters a clearly conservative choice was seen as highly unlikely until The Donald threw his hat [That stuff on top of his head is a hat? Ed.] into the ring, so in that sense his candidacy has been good for the GOP and good for America.

Then we have the Democrats. I can't swear that this picture was taken last night, but it seems a likely visualization of Hillary Clinton's reaction on hearing the final tally.

Learning that she had squeaked by Bernie Sanders by a mere 1/2 of 1 percent of the votes must have been good for Hellery's bowels. The good news (for America -- see first paragraph) is that the Democratic establishment is now in the same invidious position as the Republicans, faced with the possibility of a wild-eyed socialist emerging as their candidate. Faced with a real question as to Mrs. Clinton's electability, what will they do?

Joe Biden has ruled himself out. Michael Bloomberg used to be a Democrat, but switched to the Dark Side before becoming mayor of New York. Would he switch back again? What will the Democrats do?!

So, all in all, a satisfactory result, from Walt's viewpoint. Looks like we're in for an exciting political year.

FOOTNOTE: A bit of Iowa trivia: The IATA airport code for Sioux Gateway Col. Bud Day Field is SUX. Aren't you glad we're not back in the old days when luggage tags had the destination in big black letters? How'd you like to walk around with SUX on your luggage?!

Hellery Clinton is not inevitable, and thank God for that! Walt endorses Bernie Sanders, just to give the Democratic Establishment a scare and make things interesting. If Bernie becomes the Dems candidate -- which I doubt, even if he wins today -- it would for once give Americans a clear choice between two "outsiders".

What "outsider" do I commend to Republican voters? I wouldn't be fussed if Ted Cruz squeaks through, but, if I could vote in Iowa, I'd vote for Donald Trump... just to make things really interesting. Besides, Mr. Cruz was born in Canada. He can deny his birthright all he likes, but he's got the taint of maple syrup about him.

Paul to make third party run?

OK, so the Mormon candidate won New Hampshire. Hardly news. That Mr. Romney won both Iowa and New Hampshire, becoming the first ever non-incumbent Republican to do so, is news. It's beginning to look as if he has the GOP nomination locked up.

However... Even the lamestream media can't ignore the fact that Romney’s margin of victory was narrower than polls predicted on the weekend days ago. And, much to the pundits' consternation, Walt's choice, libertarian Congressman Ron Paul, showed startling strength, winning 23% of all votes cast. A better-than-expected second place showing. Much better than expected.

John Huntsman -- the latest conservative flash in the pan -- Rick Santorum and Not-so-New Gingrich finished down the track.

What does this mean? If I can find a rabid right-winger in the woods behind my cabin, I'll place an immodest wager on Romney to win the Republican nomination. Lifetime pct .982.

I'm also about ready to bet that Ron Paul, if he makes a respectable showing in South Carolina, will stand as presidential candidate for the Libertarian party, or some variant thereof with a new brand name. Like "Restore America Party". "RAP". That would be cool -- appealing to the college kids, who, by the way, turned out in NH in large numbers to vote for Ron.

Would you vote for someone whose name you don't dare Google?

Considering that Ron Paul -- Walt's choice for Republican candidate -- came in a respectable third in Iowa, I really hate to say this. [Oh c'mon. You don't hate it at all! You love it! Ed.] No... really... if the Republicans are going to unite behind a conservative candidate, please let it not be Rick Santorum.

Here's the problem. The powerful LGBTQ gang absolutely hate Mr. Santorum. The pro-deviant behaviour crowd have considered Rick a menace since his 2003 outburst against a Supreme Court decision striking down anti-sodomy laws. Since he's smart enough not to call himself "Dick", they are ensuring that, even though he lost his Senate seat, Santorum’s surname will live on in infamy.

If you Google "Santorum", here's what you get, right at the top of the page.
Santorum 1. The frothy mix of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex. 2. Senator Rick Santorum.
Who's behind this? The creator of the website (http://santorum.com) is anonymous. No-one will take responsibility for it.

Is it a problem? Yes, because it paints the former senator as a one-trick pony, and the Republican party as being obsessed with social conservativism and family values to the exclusion of larger issues. It is Santorum's relentless antipathy toward "gay rights" that truly makes him stand out. Says a spokesthingy for the Human Rights Campaign, "He is not just someone who is opposed to equality. He has made it his life’s work."

The lamestream media, dominated as they are by "progressive thinkers" and perverts, are just lapping this up! They love shining the spotlight on Santorum's controversial career in the Senate, where he displayed a penchant for inflammatory metaphors and crass cultural warfare. Trouble is, people who believe what they read in the New York Times think that's all there is to the GOP, thus devaluing the ideas and policies of candidates -- like Ron Paul -- who deserve to be taken seriously.

For the good of the Republican party and the nation, Walt calls on Santorum to quit. Everyone knows his name now. What more does he want?!

Paulphobia rampant in lamestream media

Konrad Yakabuski is the Globe and Mail's man in Washington. He writes reasonably perceptive columns on American politics. But he has one blind spot. He cannot bring himself to acknowledge the existence, let alone the popularity of Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul.

His column today is headed "Where's the love for Mitt Romney?", and goes on at some little length about the possibility of Mormon Mitt being the Republican version of Hellery Clinton -- "the 'inevitable' party nominee who blows it all in the end".

About two-thirds of the way through the piece, Yakabuski cites a poll just published in the Des Moines Register which "shows Mr. Gingrich surging to 25 per cent in the Hawkeye State, leaving Mr. Romney 9 percentage points lower and in third place."

So who do you suppose finished second in the Register poll? You can read to the end of Yakabuski's column -- then read it again -- and you will not find the answer. But when you look at the article in the Register, you'll find it is none other than -- gasp, shock, horror -- Ron Paul!

As you know, Walt is no believer in conspiracy theories, but really... Why is it that pundits in the lamestream media refuse to acknowledge the very existence of Mr. Paul? Are they so afraid of him, and what he represents? It seems that the media have collectively decided that the best way to nobble Mr. Paul is to refuse outright to mention him. Not even his name shall appear in papers like the New York Times or its pale northern imitation.

The liberal media should bear in mind the famous dictum of St. Ignatius Loyola: Just because you've silenced a man doesn't mean you've converted him. Let's see if they can remain silent when the results of the primaries start coming in.

Restore America Now!

Sorry to be a bit late posting this. You'd think Iowa, being in the centre of America -- make that the Heartland! -- would be pretty much covered by wi-fi, but it seems there are a few dead spots.

You've heard the news? The results of the Iowa straw poll are in, and it looks as if the GOP is tilting decidedly to the right! Right? You damn betcha! Michele Bachmann is today's winner. And in second place? Not Tim Pawlenty O'Nuttin, but the freedom lovers' choice, the tribune of the American majority...Ron Paul!

Mr. Paul, with a following among libertarian-leaning voters, wanted and got a surprisingly strong showing that might just convince Republicans he's more mainstream than not, hence more "electable".

The results of the nonbinding straw poll, held on the Iowa State University campus at Ames, came just hours after Texas Governor Rick Perry threw his nine-gallon hat in the race. Walt says you don't need the full ten gallons to take credit for an economy that looks pretty good only because the rest of the country is going into the tank. Don't look for many of Ron Paul's supporters to jump to a super-establishment candidate.

As for today's front-runner, let's wait and see what happens when -- not "if", but "when" -- Sarah Palin declares herself unable to resist the draft any longer. The GOP doesn't have room for two poster-girls, perhaps not even one. It's time the party, and the nation as a whole, voted for substance rather than image. It's high time.

PS - Just hedging our bets here... if what counts is putting a hottie out front (so to speak), the Paul campaign has it covered. How about this Iowa miss for running mate?!
