Poor Len Canayen looks at the Habs at Thanksgiving

Ed. here. It's axiomatic in the NHL that if your favourite team isn't in playoff position by the end of American Thanksgiving weekend, they're going to hit the golf links in April. Here's our National Sports (as long as it's hockey) Editor to tell us how the Montréal Canadiens are faring? Will they be in the post-season this coming spring?

Tank youse, Hed. The quick answer to your question would be "Le Canadien sera là!"... but the Atlantic Division has been so tight this season that the conventional wisdom may not hold. Only 10 points separate the first-place Tampa Bay Lightning from perennial cellar-dwellers, Buffalo Sabres.

La Sainte Flannelle are in 3rd place, the last guaranteed playoff spot in the Atlantic, with a record of 13-8-3 and 29 points, an average of .604. That's one more point than the Ottawa Senators.

If the playoffs started tomorrow, the Habs would meet their long-time rivals, the Boston Bruins. What a match-up that would be, just like old times. But can the Canadiens hold onto their position? They were on fire in October and the first week of November, but then got hit hard by injuries and only this week seem to be pulling out of a slump. As imjured players -- Patrik Laine, Kirby Dach, Alex Newhook and Kaiden Guhle -- return... or not... coach Martin St-Louis will have to make some changes to the lineup to keep the team competitive.

Forwards: The injury to Laine turned out to be a bit of blessing, relieving the coach of the headache of figuring out what to do with him. He started on the second line with Ivan Demidov on the right and Dach in the centre. Laine scored some goals, true, but the lack of cohesion with the other two was evident and he was dropped down to fourth line before getting injured. Don't be surprised if he gets traded or sent to Laval for "reconditioning". He won't be missed.

A revamped second line centred by Newhook, with Juraj Slafkovsky and Demidov on the wing, seemed to work well until Newhook went to the infirmary. But it left the question of who to put on the first line with Cole Caufield and Captain Nick Suzuki. Recently the choice has been Zach Bolduc, who was hot for the first week of the season and then kind of disappeared. He has scored in the two most recent games but doesn't look like a top-line guy from where I sit.

Demidov, like Lane Hutson, has been a treat to watch, if maybe a bit too flashy. Just shoot the puck, eh! But the line of Slafkovsky and Demidov with Oliver Kapanen at centre is OK and will improve as Demidov improves. The 3rd-line veterans Brendan Gallagher and Josh Anderson, are getting older and slower but are doing well enough with Jake Evans between them. They'll be fine when Dach gets back.

The bad news is that the players named above are about all the Habs have up front. Centre Joe Veleno has turned out to be a dud, with one only goal and -9. Five forwards, who we'll leave nameless to protect them from embarrassment, have been called up from Laval and haven't made any appreciable difference. The Habs will be lucky to have three decent lines, once the injured recover.

Defence: Kaiden Guhle has been missed. When he was playing, either Arber Xhekaj or Jayden Struble could be left to watch from the press box and the D-corps would still be OK. Until Guhle gets back the coach has to play them both, and Xhekaj is more hindrance than help. He likes to hit, he likes to fight, and he likes to shoot the puck, albeit wildly. He has one only assist and is -6. Not a guy you can depend on to support a struggling goaltending tandem.

The other defencemen are doing as well as can be expected, perhaps better. Veteran Mike Matheson is having his best year yet and just got rewarded with a 5-year contract extension. Noah Dobson has proved to be a good acquisition and is warming to his role as quarterback of the second power-play unit.

Alex Carrier is underrated -- unspectacular but reliable. Lane Hutson is the opposite, although I don't want to be too critical of someone who is so much fun to watch. Look up "puck control" in the hockey dictionary and you'll see his picture. One can compare him with Demidov, but the risks that a forward take often backfire on a D-man.

Goaltenders: I left the difficult topic for the last. In October we were full of hopes for Jakub Dobeš, and full of disappointment with Samuel Montembault  In his first three starts,  Dobeš has a GAA of 1.0, and looked likely to take the starter's spot, leaving Monty as the backup. Now the goalies, instead of being 1A and 1B, look more like 2A and 2B. Help!

Dobes is 8-3-2 with a GAA of 3.22 and a save percentage of 0.888, Montembault's numbers are 5-5-1, 3.49 and 0.864. How caN a team with that kind of goaltending be in third place in their group, with a differential of -3? Beats me! I can only say that if they're going to make the playoffs, the Habs will need to find another goalie.

Kaapo Kähkönen, down in Laval, has never in his NHL career been much more than a backup goalie. The hot prospect is Jacob Fowler, who's been on a tear with the Rocket. But... he's in the first year of a 3-year entry-level contract, and he's supposed to play in Laval until his skills are fully developed! Can Montréal take the risk of bringing him up to the big club too soon? Or could he prove to be the next iteration of goalie superstar Ken Dryden? Stay tuned.

Note from Ed.: We regret that space does not permit us to conclude with Poor Len's prediction. 😉 Watch this space.

Your Singhs today (marriage/immigration fraud edition)

To understand this story properly, you need to know that all Sikh men have "Singh" as either a middle name or a surname. "Kaur" is a common name for Sikh women.

An Ontario man who admitted to participating in two ‘sham’ marriages to help Indian women immigrate to Canada in return for services and cash has failed in his efforts to prove he's married to the mother of his three children.

Amratpal Singh Sidhu asked Ontario's Superior Court of Justice for a declaration that he's legally married to Amandeep Kaur. She was looking for a judge to say the opposite. Neither party divulged why it matters if they’re married or not. In a decision released on 12 November, Madam Justice Frances Wood wrote, "He openly admitted to participating in two ‘sham’ marriages, for financial gain and in an effort to dupe Canadian immigration authorities.

"For many years, he declared himself single for income tax purposes and, when transferring real estate, declared that he was not a spouse, which allowed him to transfer the properties without (Amandeep Kaur’s) consent. But, as (Sidhu) has made a claim for equalization in his application, this court infers that the importance relates to that claim – if the parties are not legally (married), he has no equalization claim."

An "equalization claim" is a legal process in Canadian family law where spouses seek a fair division of the property and debts accumulated during their marriage.

The court heard Sidhu and Kaur met while they were both working at Toronto's Pearson International Airport, which frequent travellers know is staffed almost exclusively by Sikhs who live in the nearby Malton area of Brampton ON. "Both were residents of Ontario," said the judge. “They agreed to travel to India to get married. The wedding plans were made while the parties were in Ontario, and they then travelled together from Ontario to India shortly before the ceremony."

Both of them agree "that they participated in a traditional marriage ceremony in India on December 4, 1997," the judgment continues. Shortly after that Mr Sidhu "travelled to a nearby town…where he participated in what he refers to as a ‘sham’ marriage ceremony."

Mr Sidhu testified that "in exchange for care being provided to his ailing mother, he participated in this fake wedding to assist the ‘bride,’ Karamjit Kaur, in immigrating to Canada." Mr Sidhu and Karamjit Kaur divorced in Ontario in January 2001. "Despite (Sidhu’s) characterization of the second marriage as a ‘sham’, the fact is that it has been formally recognized in Ontario whereas there is no formal recognition nor registration of the parties’ alleged marriage either in Ontario or India," the judge wrote.

"The parties agree that polygamous marriages are not permitted pursuant to the Hindu Marriage Act. (Sidhu) cannot, therefore, have been married to both (Amandeep Kaur) and Karamjit Kaur." Mr Sidhu travelled to India again in 2022 "where he participated in yet another allegedly ‘sham’ marriage, once again with the aim of assisting the ‘bride’ in immigrating to Canada. This marriage was to Harjit Kaur. According to (Sidhu) Canadian authorities were not persuaded of the validity of the marriage and Harjit Kaur never did immigrate to Canada. There is a marriage certificate evidencing this marriage.

"Much was made by the parties as to whose idea the 2022 ‘sham’ marriage was. (Sidhu) insisted that Harjit Kaur is (Amandeep Kaur’s) cousin, and that (Amandeep Kaur) had been promised $40,000 to assist in the immigration process. He testified that (Amandeep Kaur and their child) were present at the ‘marriage’ ceremony. (Amandeep Kaur) denied this."

On several occasions between 2000 and 2017, the judge continued, "(Sidhu) described himself as single and common-law on Income Tax filings and when transferring real property." Amandeep Kaur "described herself as married in her 2018 Income Tax Return, but as single in the other returns available to the court.

"She made some attempt to demonstrate that the relationship was ‘on and off’ to argue that they did not live together ‘as a married couple’ but does not deny that the parties lived together for at least some periods of time following the marriage. They have three children together. It is not necessary to determine that the parties lived together continuously from 1997 until their final separation."

Mr Sidhu alleges Amandeep Kaur "deliberately claimed that she was single and insisted that he do the same, to maximize her entitlement to certain tax benefits and credits. He testified that he declared himself single on income tax and real estate documents at (Amandeep Kaur’s) insistence."

Surprisingly, considering that this is a Wokontario court, the judge had concerns about the credibility of both parties. "Neither may rely on their own fraud to bolster their own position with respect to the validity of the marriage," Judge Wood said. "Where the court is left in serious doubt as to the credibility of either party, it must have resort to any uncontroverted evidence. Undisputed documentary evidence is particularly helpful."

When they returned to Canada in 1997, "both declared themselves single to different authorities. At no time did either obtain any sort of formal documentation recording their marriage." And "significantly," Mr Sidhu "married Karamjit Kaur immediately after the ceremony with (Amandeep Kaur). "That marriage has been considered to be valid by an Ontario court when it granted a divorce, a process in which (Sidhu) participated. Since polygamy is not permitted in India, (Sidhu) cannot have been married to both (Amandeep Kaur) and Karamjit Kaur. Whether the second marriage was entered into for immigration purposes or not, that is the marriage that (Sidhu) chose to have formally recognized."

The judge noted that "a valid marriage certificate has been produced" for when Sidhu "married yet again" to Harjit Kaur. Even if Amandeep Kaur "was an active participant" in that wedding, that doesn't help (Sidhu)’s case," the judge wrote. "Rather, it bolsters the conclusion that both understood they were not legally married. Neither party entered into the December 4, 1997 marriage with the intention that the marriage would be considered legally valid in Ontario."

So confusing when all the Sikhs have the same names. It must be fun in Canadian jails when the warders call out "Singh!" and everyone in the cellblock answers!

Innocent question: Will any of the parties to this fraud on the Canadian immigration system [sic] ever be deported? According to Statistics Canada, the odds of deportation orders being enforced are about 99 to 1 against!

Your Singhs today (Edmonton edition)

During the days of the Raj, particularly during World Wars I and II, the Sikhs of India (which included Pakistan, at that time), joined the British and Indian armies as drivers, mechanics, anything to do with motorized vehicles. There is no caste in Sikhism, so it seems they just naturally gravitated to such positions.

Nowadays Sikh drivers -- many of them graduates of the notorious Singh School of Truck Driving -- are to be found all over Canada and parts of the US of A, working as drivers of big rigs transporting drugs (and other things) across the World's Longest Undefended BorderTM and causing mayhem on the Interstate and provincial superhighways. See WWW passim

If they can't get work as truck drivers, some of them turn to driving for rideshare companies like Uber and Lyft. Not much to do with drugs there, but plenty of opportunity for horny Punjabis to exercise their belief that all white women are sexually available.

Case in point: Gurvinder Singh Pannu, 32, of Edmonton AB, now charged with sexual assault after an incident last summer. Edmonton cops allege that the assault happened around 0200 on 30 June 2024, when a woman ordered an Uber in the downtown area [perhaps to take her to a sunrise church service? Ed.]

A dark grey 2023 Nissan Rogue SUV picked her up near 109th St. and 101th Ave. During the trip, police allege the man driving the SUV stopped the vehicle and sexually assaulted the woman. It's not known when the victim came forward. However, a suspect was arrested and charged this last August 30th.

"Following a thorough investigation, we were able to successfully arrest and charge (a) suspect," said Constable Mughees Jutt (not a Sikh) with the Edmonton Police Service's southwest branch. "We unfortunately believe that there are others who have been impacted by this individual and we would like them to come forward so we can investigate and provide them with appropriate supports."

Mr Pannu was released under conditions including: not going to India or Pakistan for a holiday; not working for a ride sharing or taxi service; not having direct or indirect contact with the female complainant; and not possessing weapons, including knives and firearms. Whether "knives" includes the kirpan that all good Sikhs must wear at all times was not made clear.

"Allahu akbar!" in D.C.

I'm sure all of you are following this story. Click here to read the "Allahu akbar!" report from Brietbart News. Then check out this news flash.

Yes, folks, the attacker who wounded two members of the National Guard (one of them mortally, it appears) is an Afghan national, one of the 1000s of our "friends" who helped us (LOL) in Afghanistan and then were imported by Demented Joe Biden without any vetting whatsoever.

The theory is that less than 1% of those who weren't screened might be jihadis. If there were 2000 of them (who knows the real number?), 1/10th of 1% would be... let's see [he's using his calculator. Ed.], two... count `em, 2! But one (1) is all it takes to kill one or more of those who serve and protect.

The part that burns my ring is that the "authorities" are saying that Rahmanullah Lakanwal's motive remains unclear! They've sent him to a psychiatric hospital to have his wig picked. Want me to tell you what they're going to find? Nothing. Nothing! (Lifetime pct .987)

He's just your typical Islamic extremist whose belief is that it is his duty to kill all infidels. Period. But our lickspittle media won't say that because... "Islamophobia", you know. Mustn't spread hatred. We all worship the same god, except that they call their version "Allah" and seem to have a different understanding than our God of what is to be done with unbelievers.

VIDEO: Victor Davis Hanson on Ken Burns' "American Revolution"

In his Thanksgiving podcast, posted today [of course! Ed.], our old friend Victor Davis Hanson points out the underlying fallacy in Ken Burns "The American Revolution", which aired on PBS last week.

Ed. didn't have time to edit out discussions on other topics, so I suggest you fast forward to 29:44, where Mr Hanson picks up on my initial reaction to the revisionist history, as written in "'The American Revolution' - Ken Burns' new, woke version" (WWW  18/11/25).

I agree with Mr Hanson (and his interlocutor Jack Fowler) that Mr Burns' The Civil War was a work of genius. Everything since then has been filtered through the lens of progressivism and DEI, so if you watch The American Revolution (I finally did watch the whole thing), take it cum magno grano salis.

The rest of the Mr Hanson's podcast is well worth watching too. Happy Thanksgiving!

A Thanksgiving message

No political message this year (although we did like President Trump's remarks as he pardoned the turkeys), just a simple wish from Walt, Poor Len [and Ed.! Ed.] to our American readers and/or friends...

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good: and His mercy endureth for ever.

Canuck Pretendian shocked to learn truth about himself

Looks like the US of A isn't the only country where Pretendians (e.g. Senator Elizabeth Warren) rise to lofty heights, only to fall with a thud when they are outed as being, errr... white. Canada has them too, and has had them for at least a century, going back to the time of Grey Owl, shown at left in a portrait by Yousuf Karsh.

Grey Owl, was a popular Canadian writer, public speaker and conservationist. Born an Englishman, he immigrated to Canada and, in the latter years of his life, passed as half-Indian, falsely claiming he was the son of a Scottish man and an Apache woman. He achieved fame in the 1930s with books, articles and public appearances promoting wilderness conservation. Shortly after his death in 1938, his real identity -- Archibald Stansfeld Belaney -- was exposed. He was one of the first Pretendians.

Fast foward to this weekend, when celebrated Canadian author Thomas King told the meeja that he was shocked, shocked to find out that, despite believing so nearly all his life, he is not an Indian Indigenous First Nations person.

Like Mr Belaney, Mr King wrote books about Indians, including The Truth About Stories: A Native Narrative and The Inconvenient Indian: A Curious Account of Native People in North America. Now, in a piece for the Groan & Wail [Globe & Mail, shurely. Ed.] titled "A most inconvenient Indian", the California born author says he learned of rumours several years ago that questioned his heritage.

Mr King says he made a concerted effort this year to find their origin, which brought him to an American organization called Tribal Alliance Against Frauds, which investigated his past with help from a University of British Columbia scholar, and found no Cherokee heritage.

Mr King writes that he did not purposefully pretend to have Indigenous roots. His father left the family when he was only 3, he says, and his mother rarely spoke of the man but said he was part Cherokee. King says the revelation a couple of weeks ago was "so very devastating, though 'devastating' is too pedestrian a word. At 82, I feel as though I’ve been ripped in half, a one-legged man in a two-legged story. Not the Indian I had in mind. Not an Indian at all."

Well, I'll take his word for it, as long as he promises never again to read out the Stolen Land Acknowledgment which is now de rigueur at all public events and ceremonies in the Great No-longer-white North.

At last! Canada gets rid of feminist phoque-up Chrystia Freeland

So, farewell then, Chrystia Freeland, former Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of Canuckistan and protégée of Blackie McBlackface, who was PM until la Freeland stuck a shiv between his shoulder blades about an hour before she was due to deliver a budget last December.

The lovely and fragrant Ms Freeland, who has for nearly a decade, been the target a lot of snark in this space (click here for an example) for a decade, been appointed as the next Warden of Rhodes House and CEO of the Rhodes Trust, the charity responsible for the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship programme at the University of Oxford.

At the moment, she is (technically) still a Member of  the Canadian Parliament. Her virtual defenestration of Emperor Trudeau II got her re-elected in the November 2025 election. However, her campaign to wrest the leadership of the Liberal Party from Junior came up short when the British-Canadian Magus, Marx Carney, garnered some 90% of the votes of the party faithfaul, compared with around 5% for Ms Freelove.

For some reason, Mr Carnage declined to invite her back into the cabinet. Instead, she was made "Special Representative for the Reconstruction of Ukraine". Canadians never got a chance to learn what that was all about, since (according to Walt's impeccable Ukrainian source), Prime Minister Volodymyr Zelenskyy, upon hearing the news, telephoned Mr Carnage to say Ukraine was in enough trouble already, so, "Please stop helping, already!"

So farewell then, Your Wokeness. I hope you enjoy living in the Caliphate, and that Allah will step lightly on your head. Don't slam the door on your way out.

UPDATED: The end of Western civilization is here (VIDEO)

I don't want readers to think of me as one of those street-corner preachers, wearing a hair shirt and holding a sign saying "The end of the world is coming!" But, as I wrote in  "Not only the Vatican opposes woke gender ideology" (WWW 20/11/25), the end of our world -- of our Western (i.e. Christian) civilization -- is what the One-Worlders, including many Catholic hierarchs, are planning for us and pushing on us.

Their replacement will be a New World Order of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in which all cultures are equal -- some more so than yours, dear reader -- and Christianity is replaced by the New World Religion of secular humanism, in which believers are their own gods and define their own morality. (Offer void where prohibited by Sharia law.)

The latest episode of Anthony Stine's Return to Tradition vlog, a priest who lost everything speaking the truth to the Church, has a new warning about the end of the Christian age.

Mr. Stine seems to assume that his followers already know of Father Donald Kloster. For those who don't, Fr. Kloster is a priest of the Diocese of Bridgeport CT, and a very traditional Catholic. Reader who would like to see and hear him are recommended to click here to see "What Vatican II Did and Did Not Do".

UPDATE AND WOW!!! (added at 1237 FMT): "State Dept. Warns Mass Migration an ‘Existential Threat’ to Western Civilization", Breitbart News, 22/11/25. The first two paragraphs:

"The United States government has warned that mass migration represents an 'existential threat' to Western civilization and has warned Europe against the continuing open borders policies and the creation of two-tier justice systems that favour foreigners over native populations.

In a shot across the bow against the open borders ideology that has taken hold in the halls of power in many Western European capitals, the U.S. State Department urged its allies 'to take bold action and defend citizens against the threats posed by mass migration.'"

Vicious circle

Are you up to the challenge of a career in mainstream journalism?

There’s no more noble aspiration than that of one day becoming a professional journalist, but many may feel intimidated or unequipped to pursue such an impressive career. Do you think you have what it takes? Here, from our friends at the Babylon Bee, are nine qualifications needed for a career as a professional journalist.

1. Burning desire to seek the truth: And if the truth you discover isn’t what you were hoping, just come up with something else.

2. Have an IQ no higher than 45: Any more than that, and CNN won’t even consider you.

3. Be OK working for peanuts: That’s not a metaphor, media companies are struggling so much they can’t compensate you with money.

4. Possess an undying desire to rid the world of the evil that is the United States: You can’t just allow freedom and democracy to keep running roughshod over the world.

5. Ability to pass a lie detector test while lying: It’s a skill possessed by the greatest reporters.

6. Willingness to be verbally abused by Donald Trump: Even though most of it is probably true.

7. Be a hot blonde woman in a tight dress: This tip is specifically for people wanting to work at Fox News.

8. No actual training in reporting facts: You don’t want actual news to get in the way of telling your predetermined story.

9. Be a registered Democrat: This is the most important one.

If you check all the boxes listed above, you too could be on your way to being part of the greatest threat to America.

Question for Ogilvy: What's with all the mixed-race couples?

Here's a commercial that's pretty hard to avoid if you watch Canadian TV.

Even if you watch an American channel routed through a Canadian cable/satellite provider, you'll still see the Canuck commercials, like this one. (Click on "Watch on YouTube" to see it.)

What strikes you about these commercials for TD Insurance? The realism? 😅 The résumé of the clever black engineer in the second one? 😅 The excellent diction of the black characters in both spots? 😅 (No ghetto talk for those guys!) Or is it that the actors portray the sort of mixed-race yuppie couple who you would never encounter in, say, Toronto, let alone TROC?

Ogilvy Canada is the Advertising Agency of Record for TD Insurance and TD Bank in Canada. They are responsible for the overall advertising campaigns, including creative concepts and execution.

As someone who referred to the late, great David Ogilvy while teaching seminars on advertising, I have to say that I'm very glad that Mr Ogilvy wasn't alive  to see these horrible examples of pandering to the DEI crowd. I should be fair to Ogilvy though. Perhaps pushing the mixed-race button was a key point in the brief they received from TD... or some other people... perhaps in the public sector. 😉

If you have a comment you'd like to share with the wokesters, send it to christopher.andrews@ogilvy.com. I'm sure he'll be pleased to get some feedback, if only to show TD that someone is paying attention.

Not only the Vatican opposes woke gender ideology (+ bonus VIDEO)

Yes, Virginia, there really is a conspiracy of the WEF/Davos/one-worlders to destroy Western civilization, "that all may be one".  They do it by insinuating their queer, secular humanist, ultra-woke ideology into every possible medium for social intercourse, to the point where their perverted ideas and ideals have now become the accepted orthodoxy.

Accepted, that is, in the Woke West -- the AABC countries and western Europe. You don't hear the "influencers" and thought leaders in places like Hungary, Russia, China, India, Africa and Latin America pushing the DEI agenda. or giving platforms to drag queens (see video) or queers preaching against the morality of the Bible or the Quran.

Say what you will about Islam, Sikhism, even Hinduism, their holy books as well as the Bible give us a moral compass, a way to live, a code of proper behaviour that will please -- not offend -- God. And there are believers, even in the West, who look to the scriptures for guidance, and reject the amorality of the New World Order.

Because the One-Worlders keep pushing their amoral ideologies and decadent culture on the rest of the world, the clash between the "old values" and the New World Order comes up in every international conference or gathering, particularly those organized by the Disunited Nations. We see that right now at COP30, the 30th annual United Nations climate change conference, where the unwoke (read: non-Western) rejection of gender ideology risks complicating the outcome.

Six governments -- Paraguay, Argentina, Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia as well as the Holy See -- have moved to attach to a key text their own interpretations which (according to the apostles of queerness) would block recognition of trans and non-binary people, and set a "harmful precedent" that could "seep into other shared decisions" taken by the UN’s climate body.

A reliable source (who wisely chose to remain anonymous) told an international press agency yesterday that "There is 'frustration within rooms' because they were not authorized to discuss the sensitive issue. It’s become a bit ridiculous — we have six footnotes right now; should we have 90?"

At stake is a revamped "Gender Action Plan" (seriously... GAP) meant to guide work for the next decade. The GAP includes commandments to "mainstream gender across climate programs". Climate change, it seems, is no longer as important as the rights of wimmin... and those who identify as any of the other 90-odd genders besides "male".

The GAP was adopted in 2017 and strengthened in 2019. COP30 is now working on a new, even more woke version. The footnotes proposed by those who believe there are only two genders -- M and F -- reveal their proponents' red lines around the term "gender", some longstanding, others part of the rising tide of anti-wokeism.

The Holy See, for example, says it understands gender as "grounded on the biological sexual identity that is male and female." Pretty straightforward, eh. Argentina, a majority-Catholic country led by President Trump's ally Javier Milei has rolled back DEI policies and LGBTQ(etc) rights, and attacked the cancer of wokeism.

A source on the other side of the gender ideology divide contends there is no need to reopen the definition, because parties can already interpret decisions according to their national circumstances. "Allowing countries to attach their own interpretations to agreed language does not protect national sovereignty. It undermines multilateralism itself." Aha! That word -- multilateralism -- is the shibboleth of the New World Order!

Here's another quote that reveals the not-so-well-hidden agenda. Bridget Burns, executive director of the Women’s Environment and Development Organization, told AFP, "If every Party could footnote core terms like finance, ambition or equity, we would have no negotiation left -- only fragmentation. Gender equality is an agreed principle under this Convention. It needs no qualification." Let there be no dissent!

How to square the circle? One possible off-ramp, said the anonymous source first referred to, would be for the opposing countries to deliver statements after a decision is adopted, ensuring their positions are reflected in the official record. Walt thinks that's a fine idea, since COP30, GAP, and the whole steaming pile of bullshit will be largely ignored by everyone except, perhaps, our woke Western government.

And now for a video on a not-unrelated subject. Here's our old friend Gavin McInnes -- good to see ya, Gavin! -- talking about the insufferable wokeness of the BBC, where it seems female (real female) staffers have had enough of the Corpse's trans dogma. The state-run media doesn't just crowbar gender-neutral weirdoes into every programme, they also deny murderers are male if the guy is wearing a dress. Sez Gavin "It's as ridiculous as it is dangerous." Give a listen.

VIDEO: Voice of the people: "Get the f*ck out of my country!"

The Arab community in Dearborn MI has grown since the early 20th century, with waves of immigration from countries like Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq, initially driven by jobs at Ford Motor Company. Now Dearborn has the largest Muslim population per capita in the United States.

In 2023, Dearborn became the first American city with a majority-Arab population, with about 55% of residents claiming Middle Eastern or North African ancestry. This once-white community features the largest mosque in North America and numerous Arab and Muslim organizations.

Here's what Jake Lang, one of the few remaining white American residents, told the Dearborn Council on November 18th.

"You make all of our country look like the places that you fled from. We don’t want you here. Respectfully, get the fuck out of my country!" Well said, that man!

Religious Sikhs all have Singh as a middle name or surname, and all are required to carry a little dagger called a kirpan, and wear a turban along with their holy underpants.

Your seconde challenge, for an all-expense-paid tour of beautiful downtown Brampton**, is to guess which of the five are still in jail, and which have left through the revolving door of Canadian justice to resume their occupations as drivers for Uber or Diversity Truck Lines! Hint: Only one is still behind bars!

Entries on a postcard, please, to the usual address.
* Prize value $3.60 cents in real money. Prize will be de delivered by CanadaPost. Not valid in the US of A.

How to stop worrying about climate change

VIDEO: "The American Revolution" - Ken Burns' new, woke version

For the last couple of nights, I've been watching bits and pieces [There was hockey on the other channel. Ed.] of The American Revolution, the latest offering from revisionist historian cum film-maker Ken Burns. It's streaming (also avaible over the air) on PBS, the soi-disant Public Broadcasting System, which is like so-called National Public Radio (NPR), only with pictures.

The fact that this new series is on PBS should tell you what to expect, which is not exactly what they tell you in the introductory summary...
"Thirteen American colonies unite in rebellion, win an eight-year war to secure their independence, and establish a new form of government that would inspire democratic movements at home and around the globe. What begins as a political clash between colonists and the British government grows into a bloody struggle that will engage more than two dozen nations and forever change the world.'

...or in the official trailer.

Do you see any warning signs there? No? Let me give you one. The narrator chosen by Mr Burns is one Peter Coyote (born Peter Robert Cohon).an American actor, director, screenwriter, author... and political activist. In "The Theater of Protest", Mr Coyote explains his approach to effective, nonviolent protest, which he developed while teaching a class at Harvard. He emphasizes that protests are ceremonies, an invitation to a better world. He says protests should be led by wimmin, for "inclusivity", and that "monitors with whistles" stop violence. Get the idea?

Other commentators, who I'd never heard of but are presented as historians and writers, include a good DEI mix of Jewish women (one of whom seems to have a slight palsy), black men (including one with blonde dreadlocks), and other mild-mannered, instantly forgettable liberals academics. No Shelby Foote here!

I was not surprised, then, to learn that the American Revolution was not so much about freeing Great Britain's American colonies from the tyranny and taxation of King George III, as about partnering with Indians Native Indigenous Americans and strong, independent wimmin to obtain justice for the oppressed Negro African-American slaves. As Johnny Carson would have said, "I did not know that!"

The series suffers, in comparison with Ken Burns' The Civil War, in not having photographs to work with, so the visuals are mostly oil paintings of the principal actors involved -- politicians, soldiers, statesmen and the like -- all "marble men".

We hear, occasionally, the words of common white people, taken from their letters, but we learn little about them. You'd almost think that the only common people of any consequence were the slaves who are quoted and talked about out of all proportion to the numbers of such people in America at the time. Even George Washington's black man-servant gets his 15 seconds of fame, plus a heroic image on his black self at Washington's side going into battle.

This is only a preliminary comment. If the rest of the series is like the first two episodes, I won't be writing about The American Revolution again. But I'm not going to say "Don't watch it." The accounts of the battles are pretty good, so you can just zap through the woke bullshit and still learn parts of the nantion's history that the too many Americans have forgotten.

VIDEO: What Democrats are required to be for... and against

In this recent episode of Rightwing101, Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) had some nasty but accurate things to say about tghe leading female candidate for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination. Yes, we're talking about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, about whom Senator Kennedy says, "If you scratch AOC, you get more AOC."

The key part of this short (5 minutes) interview, IMHO comes at about the 2-minute mark, at which the solon gives a too-long list of things that most American people support, but Dimocrats are required by their woke, leftist ideology to oppose.

Are moderate Democrats -- if such exist -- powerless to resist the crazy -- that's the right word, for sure -- positions and policies foisted on them by "leaders" such as AOC? Walt believes in the two-party system. Voters should have a choice between two rational political parties. When one party is advocating nihilist nonsense, as are today's Dumbocrats, the inevitable result will be a one-party state, rather than democracy.

Have we nothing better to obsess over?

Americans top the voting (in Walt's private poll) for Most Sexually Obsessed People on Earth. Really, can you think of any other nation which would make such a big Freudian fuss over some alpha males having parties with nubile teen talent who were more than happy to enjoy the benefits bestowed on them by the rich and powerful?

In Once-great Britain, people would be saying, "Thank goodness they were girls!"
In France, Epstein would have been given the Croix de Guerre for services to the state.
In Canada, people would say, "Wut? I was watching the hockey. What did I miss?"

And in America? "Hold a Congressional inquiry!" It's too, too ludicrous.

Canada strengthens navel defences!

As part of his alleged plan to strengthen Canuckistan's capacity for defending itself (rather than sheltering under the protection of the US military), Prime Minister Marx Carnage announced in June that the Canadian Coast Guard, heretofore a civilian agency, would be folded into the Department of National Defence, which is the Canuck equivalent of the US War Department.

Today, the DND revealed the new name and paint job for one of their (still unarmed) Coast Guard ships. To wit...

Image scraped from this report on Blazing Cat Fur. Reports that the DND is having trouble recruiting enough seapersons to man staff the expanded fleet are, of course, completely untrue.

Note from Ed.: Yes, Walt knows the difference between "naval" and "navel".

Words of wisdom from Milton Friedman

Milton Friedman, an American statistician and economist, was the 20th century's leading advocate of free markets. He received the 1976 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for his research on consumption analysis, monetary history and theory and the complexity of stabilization policy.

With George Stigler, Friedman was among the intellectual leaders of the Chicago school of economics, a neoclassical school of economic thought that rejected Keynesianism in favor of monetarism, later shifting their focus to new classical macroeconomics. He believed that the free market, not the state, should determine the best way to achieve stability and prosperity.

VIDEO: Climate alarmists WRONG; Dilbert RIGHT

I see the COP30 summit in Belém, Brazil has already degenereated into bickering and brawls between the eco-wienies, climate alarmists and the indigenous people who think the whole leftie schmooze-fest is a waste of money which should be going to help them.

For those who were saying "Wut?", COP30 is the 30th annual United Nations climate change conference. About 50,000 people, including diplomats and "climate experts" from more than 190 countries (but somehow excluding Greta Thunberg) started beating their gums on Monday about the climate "crisis" and its "devastating impacts", including the rising frequency of extreme weather.

The hosts have a packed agenda, with 145 meetings planned to discuss the green fuel transition and global warming as well as the failure [Did they really use that word? Ed.] to implement past promises.

Andre Correa do Lago, president of this year's conference, emphasised that negotiators engage in "mutirao", a Brazilian word derived from an Indigenous word that refers to a group uniting to work on a shared task. In a statement published on Sunday, he wrote, "Either we decide to change by choice, together, or we will be imposed change by tragedy. We can change. But we must do it together."

Apparently the indigenous people aren't on the same page. Last night, tussles erupted between protesters and security guards -- COP30 cops  -- when a group of indigenous and non-indigenous people (Pretendians?) stormed the conference centre in Belém. Several dozen men and women, some in brightly coloured feather headdress, ran through the entrance, pushing at least one door off its hinges, before striding through the metal detectors.

At least one non-indigenous man was carrying a banner that read "Our forests are not for sale!" Others wore T-shirts saying "Juntos" (= Together). They waved banners and chanted until being forcibly removed.

It is not yet clear who was responsible for the intrusion, but at least one observer was impressed. "At last, something has happened here," said Juan Carlos Monterrey-Gómez, a Panamanian climate negotiator.

Also unclear is whether Sr Monterrey-Gómez or any of the other dips and "experts" have read "Three tough truths about climate", by none other than Bill Gates, published on October 28th. The subhead: "What I want everyone at COP30 to know". And here's the lede:

"There’s a doomsday view of climate change that goes like this: In a few decades, cataclysmic climate change will decimate civilization. The evidence is all around us—just look at all the heat waves and storms caused by rising global temperatures. Nothing matters more than limiting the rise in temperature.

"Fortunately for all of us, this view is wrong. [!!!]  Although climate change will have serious consequences—particularly for people in the poorest countries—it will not lead to humanity’s demise. People will be able to live and thrive in most places on Earth for the foreseeable future.

"Emissions projections have gone down, and with the right policies and investments, innovation will allow us to drive emissions down much further. Unfortunately, the doomsday outlook is causing much of the climate community to focus too much on near-term emissions goals, and it’s diverting resources from the most effective things we should be doing to improve life in a warming world."

Cazart!!! Did Bill Gates, the man who now only foresaw the future but created it, really say there's no need for climate alarm?  Perhaps he finally got around to reading The Dilbert Future, by Scott Adams (Harperbusiness, 1997)? Here's a slightly edited excerpt from the first chapter.

"Whenever humans notice a bad trend, they try to change it. The prediction of doom causes people to do things differently and avoid the doom. Any doom that can be predicted won't happen.

"Example: The world's population will grow faster than the food supply, and we'll all starve to death. Human response: Scientists realized you can call just about anything a "meat patty".

"Example: Petroleum reserves will be depleted in twenty years. Human response: Scientists discovered oil in their own hair.

"Example: Communism will spread to the rest of the world. Human response: All Communists became ballerinas and defected."

The point is that none of those predictions came true once we started worrying about them. That's the way it always works.

Those who think Scott Adams need not be taken seriously because he's "just a cartoonist" trying to make some money (not subtitle on the cover) should check out this video "'Fact Checking' The Dilbert Future after 25 years", recorded a little over three years ago by Dr Jon Padfield. He looks at 10 of the 65 predictions Scott Adams made in 1997, and finds that of the 10 predictions, 7 had already come true and 3 were on track to come true.

If Greta Thunberg tells me the world is going to burn to a crisp sometime soon, and Scott Adams tells me it's not, I think I'm on solid ground to believe Mr Adams. And I'll have a good laugh as he explains.

Mr Adams' super-popular Dilbert comic strip got cancelled by the lickspittle media in February of 2023 after he made comments on YouTube calling Black Americans [sic] "a hate group" and urging white Americans [no "sic"' to "get the hell away" from them. Mr Adams said he expected that to happen.

Fortunately for people who think, Scott Adams is still on YouTube. If you are retired or unemployed or have very long coffee breaks, you can enjoy Real Coffee with Scott Adams every day. Walt recommends his podcast highly, especially for days when it seems like our society is going down the tubes. No, Mr Adams says, not yet!

Remembrance Day 2025

Some call it by its old name: Armistice Day. Others call it Remembrance Day. Still others know it only as November 11th. No matter what you call it, November 11th is, or should be more than just a date. It's a day to remember those who gave their lives for our countries in a number of wars.

The exact number of wars is debatable. Depends which country you're talking about, and who's counting. But they were all "good wars"... "just wars"... right? They all needed to be fought, right? To preserve freedom and democracy and equality and all those other Good Things. Right? Maybe it's all debatable.

The "Armistice" in Armistice Day refers to the truce proclaimed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 -- the armistice that ended the Great War, the war that would end all wars. But, as "The Ballad of Willie McBride" says, it all happened again... And again... And again.

After the Battle of Fredericksburg, Robert E. Lee -- the greatest American general of all time -- said to General James Longstreet, "It is well that war is so terrible, otherwise we should grow too fond of it."

But it seems we have grown too fond of it. Perhaps it's because advances in technology have reduced the body counts. On "our side", at least. Or maybe it's the advances in medicine and hygiene which means that, nowadays, more soldiers and sailors and airmen die of wounds than of disease and starvation.

Whatever it is, we seem to scarcely finish one war before starting another. Sometimes we don't even wait for the first war to end, so we can fight two or three or four wars all at the same time. All for freedom, democracy, equality, human rights, and generally to make the world a better place. For "our side", at least.

Not all of the thousands upon thousands who died fighting our "good wars" did so for the sake of freedom and all that. Some of them did, sure, but some of them died because they obeyed orders and went unflinchingly to the death to which they were sent. It is those men and women -- the ones who didn't want to be there and shouldn't have been there in the first place -- whom Walt wishes to remember today.

Footnote: Don Cherry sez "Don't forget to wear your poppy!" It is a sad commentary on the new social order in Canuckistan that judges in the province of Nova Scotia have been forbidden by their masters from doing so, lest some "others" may think them biased... in favour of whom?!

VIDEO: "Islam is NOT COMPATIBLE with The West!!" - Gavin McInnes

Walt is more than pleased to see Gavin McInnes appearing regularly on YouTube. He was in the penalty box (he's a Canuck, you know) for seven (count `em, 7) years for his connection with the Proud Boys. But now he's been freed and is back with with his acerbic observations about the sorry state of the West in general and the US of A in particular.

Today he riffs on the Future of New York City following Zohran Mamdani's election as the first black(ish), Muslim, Communist "Democratic Socialist" mayor of the Rotten Apple. Listen up!

Coming to Canada illegally pays off for asylum-seekers, bogus refugees

WARNING to Canadian readers: This report contains statistics which will infuriate you.

Let's start with these. When the Liberal Prime Minister Blackie McBlackface first took office in 2015, the number of asylum claimants in the country then known as Canada was just 16,058. As of the most recent figures available from Statistics Canada, there are a total of 497,443 "asylum claimants and protected persons". Thats includes a record high 287,786 asylum claimants waiting to have their case heard by the Immigrant and Refugee Board of Canada.

What do you, dear suffering Canuck, think will happen to them? What percentage of them do you think will be allowed to remain in the country now known and derided as "Canuckistan"? 50%? 75%? 85%? How about 100%?!

On Tuesday, the Liberal government headed by Blackie's successor, Marx Carnage, dropped a new budget, outlining the Natural Ruling Party's plans to carry on Junior's wokest works. Buried in the 406+ pages of mouse-sized type was the latest iteration of the Liberal promise to bring immigration "under control.

The budget document admits that Canada’s immigration system [Is dis a system? Mr. Natural] is "dysfunctional and inefficient... [After Covid] the pace of arrivals began to exceed Canada’s capacity to absorb and support newcomers in the way we are used to doing. Canada’s new [LOL. Walt] government recognizes that this system is no longer sustainable, and we are determined to make it so."

But, I hear you ask, how are they going to do that? The answer is a one-time mass amnesty to some of the hundreds of thousands of asylum-seekers who have entered Canada in recent years, by illegally crossing the US border at places like Roxham Road, near St-Bernard-de-Lacolle QC, where a Mountie can be seen in this photo helping a border-jumper with her luggage.

The alien in the photo is just one of 114,373 illegal border-crossesrs who have entered Canada since 2017. A disproportionate number came through the Roxham Road crossing from New York into Québec, an illicit border crossing closed only in 2023

Starting next year, the Liberals will spend over C$120 million ($85 million in real money) on a program to fast-track "eligible protected persons" -- anyone who promises to vote Liberal in future elections -- into permanent residency.

The number of "protected persons" to be admitted without being properly vetted, and in spite of having gamed the system, is for some reason not specified in the budget. It should be noted, though, that Canada currently has more people within the refugee system than at any other time in its history.

In the entirety of 2015, the Canada Border Services Agency processed 7110 asylum claims. Last year, this figure was 58,050 — a more than 800% cent increase! But the 2025 budget boasts that "asylum claims are down by a third" from the heights they reached during the Trudeau era.

Of late, Canada’s population of asylum claimants has also added tens of thousands of "temporary migrants" who entered Canada as students (many at schools like the notorious Singh School of Truck Driving) and claimed asylum as the terms of their visas came to an end.

Last year, for instance, international students were responsible for a record 20,245 asylum claims. If past acceptance figures are any guide, most asylum claimants will ultimately be accepted as "protected persons".

In 2024, for instance, the Immigration and Refugee Board reviewed 73,456 cases and only rejected 11,761. (46,480 were accepted, the other claims were abandoned or withdrawn). The year before, the board reviewed 51,848 and only rejected 9601; 37,222 claims were accepted.

So there you have it, dear put-upon Canadians. Your country's back door is still wide open. No matter where in the Great No-longer-white North you live, it won't be long before you hear the six most feared words in the English language: "Hello dere! I'se yo new neighbuh!"

Drink up!

Further to "Walt's pithy comment on yesterday's elections", posted this morning... another look at the NYC election result...

Drink up, stupid New Yorkers!
And in other news... blue states voted blue. Quelle surprise. Tomorrow we'll have something completely different.

UPDATED: "Allahu akbar!" en "la France profonde"

"La France profonde" is what the French call the deepest and most picturesque parts of their country. Éric Zemmour, an essayist and polemicist-turned candidate for the presidency, declared, "Just a few years ago, places like the Île d’Oléron, an island in the Bay of Biscay near Rochefort, were refuges for those who still wanted to live in a preserved France."

For that reason, Île d’Oléron is almost never in the news. Except for today. The second sentence in M Zemmour's statement is "The situation is such that we see jihadists emerging everywhere in France."

Including Île d’Oléron, where at least 10 people, including pedestrians and a cyclist, were deliberately run down by a motorist said by police to have cried, "Allahu Akhbar!"

One of the worst injured is a political aide to a Rassemblement National (Marine Le Pen's National Rally) politician, who was run over while jogging at the beach, and has been airlifted to hospital in a state of "absolute emergency".

Giving an update during a visit to the Île d’Oléron, a spokethingy for the French Minister of the Interior said the as yet unnamed [Try "Mohammed". Ed.] suspect is "not saying much." At least not in French.

The arrested suspect is a 35-year-old man, a resident of a nearby community, known to officers for small-time criminal activity and drug use. A criminal case of attempted murder has been opened, but despite the Islamist war cry uttered at the time of the man’s arrest, the local prosecutor told the meeja "At the time of his arrest, he shouted 'Allah Akbar!' However, the motive has not been confirmed and the investigation will have to determine it."

Counter-terrorism police are on scene but have not yet taken control of the investigation. The car used in the apparent attack was torched by the assailant as he attempted to flee on foot. It contained multiple gas cylinders, implying an attempt to cause an explosion, but Inspector Clouseau of the gendarmerie says they need to investigate further.

Conservative commentators and politicians spoke out to decry the perpetrator, the attack, and to note in particular how what they called "Islamist terror" has spread to even la France profonde. Jordan Bardella, the Parliamentary leader of the Rassemblement National, called for a strict punishment for the perpetrator of what he called "blind and deliberate violence."

His party colleague, MP Sébastien Chenu, reflected that nowhere is safe from "this phenomenon" any more and called on the state to fight the "Islamist hydra", saying, "The Islamist threat has never been stronger. This is a war that must be waged here and now. Our country has already paid a heavy price to Islamism."

UPDATE ADDED 6/11/25:  French prosecutors said today that the driver who deliberately ran over and injured several pedestrians and cyclists invoked Allah during police questioning. "He justified his actions by saying that he was following the commands of Allah, who had ordered him to make a sacrifice," said public prosecutor Arnaud Laraize told the meeja in La Rochelle."He said he wanted to die by self-immolation, but failed to blow up his vehicle."

Your Singhs today: Singh School of Truck Driving busted for fraud!

Never ve thought ve vould see this headline: "Indian immigrants get house arrest for running fraudulent truck driving schools in Ontario", but there it is, on the Unpublished newswire this morning.

Yes, folks, this is about the notorious Singh School of Truck Driving... or one of such schools, at least. A judge of the Ontario Court of Justice was told at their trial that Gurvinder Singh, 69, of Laval QC, and Gurpreet Singh, 37, of Saint-Eustache QC "operated a truck driver school (not registered as a private career college nor authorized to offer MELT) that fraudulently did not offer its students the minimum training required to satisfy the MELT standards."

(Mandatory entry-level training (MELT) for residents of Ontario seeking to obtain a Class A licence, was introduced by the government of Ontario in 2017. MELT includes a minimum of instructional hours offered by qualified instructors teaching specific standardized skills deemed required by the Commercial Truck Driver Training Standard (Class A) of the Ontario Ministry of Transportation to safely drive large commercial trucks. Without proof of it, people who want to become commercial truck drivers can’t schedule a road test.)

The court was told that each of the offenders, at his respective truck driver school, obtained payment from its commercial truck driver candidates or students yet offered only basic truck driver training that did not comply with the MELT course standards. Both of the Messrs Singh "then circumvented the MELT certification process by paying for unlawful access to the (Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s) database to falsify their students' MELT completion," said Judge Pierre Roger in his decision.

"Each paid Charanjit Deol and her husband, who operated a registered private career college authorized to offer MELT, to access the (ministry's) database and upload information which falsely confirmed that the offenders’ respective commercial truck driver candidates or students had completed the MELT."

The Singhs "generally charged their students between $4000 and $5000 for the truck driver training that they offered. [the decision continues]. This is slightly less than what was charged for MELT training by approved or registered private career colleges.

"Their students were of South Asian ethnicity, largely new immigrants. The language spoken during training was mostly Punjabi." The Singhs "supplied trucks, trailers, instructors (frequently unqualified), and offered some commercial truck driver training which, however, did not meet the MELT standards."

The court heard that, between January 2019 and May 2021, Gurvinder and Gurpreet Singh "occasionally paid an interpreter, Hanifa Khokhar, to facilitate some of their respective students to cheat on their Class A knowledge tests. Ms Khokhar suggested some of the answers during her interpretation services." Her husband, Mohamed Khokhar, was also involved in the scam, by assisting his wife and collecting the money.

Judge Roger found that "despite the risks posed by licenced Class A drivers driving commercial trucks without having completed the MELT, there is no evidence that the Class A licence of any of the offenders' students was revoked or made subject to additional MELT training or related conditions. Similarly, there is no evidence why such measures were not put in place by the relevant authorities."

Well, that's Ontario for you. Any political party which cracked down on brown or black crime would alienate 1000s of voters (some of whom might actually be citizens), especially in the Greater Toronto Area, and more particularly Brampton and Mississauga ON. But let us return to the story.

In his decision, dated October 29th, the learned judge wrote, "This was an elaborate scheme by the offenders. It involved close to 50 truck driver students each and lasted over two years. The offences impacted the community and the truck driver students. The truck driver students were robbed of the proper training they had paid for, and their lack of proper training created an additional risk to the welfare of road users, impacting the community and the reputation of truck drivers."

So what happened to the Sikh fraudsters? All four of the co-accused plead guilty to fraud. The Crown argued that a penitentiary sentence is the norm in cases of large-scale fraud, and that the range in such cases is at least three to five years.

Counsel for the offenders argued that this was not a large-scale fraud. Alternatively, they argued that the circumstances of this case, including proportionality and parity of sentences, and the good standing of the miscreants in their community, warranted departing from the range. They said that a fit sentence for each of the offenders would be a conditional sentence of 12 to 18 months.

So what did they get? House arrest! Justic Roger gave both men conditional sentences of two years less a day, to be served in the community. O Canada!

The learned judge apparently was unaware of, or failed to take into account, the years of trouble Canadian provinces have experienced with immigrant truckers, largely of the Sikh persuasion.

In 2018, 16 members of the Humboldt Broncos Junior A hockey team were killed when Jaskirat Singh Sidhu drove his big rig through a Saskatchewan highway stop sign at over 60 mph after ignoring its multiple preceding road signs and flashing lights.

Two years earlier, Sarbjit Singh Matharu, driving on two hours of sleep and with a falsified logbook, caused an 11-vehicle pileup on Ontario Highway 400, killing four.

A year later, transport truck driver Baljinder Singh rammed a queue of vehicles that had slowed to a stop in a construction zone, killing four. In 2019, Gurdeep Singh Dhaliwal was charged with stunt driving his semi on the 401, travelling less than 10 yards behind another transport truck.

In 2022, Mehakdeep Singh received five years in prison for killing two young children and their grandmother on the same highway when he rammed them at full speed. Just last year, Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal was charged with driving his transport truck the wrong way on the 401. Another trucker, Ravinder Singh Rai, was caught driving drunk that year on Ontario Highway 11.

Earlier this year, Jagmeet Singh Grewal was sentenced to 10 years in prison for killing four people by crashing into a line of vehicles on a highway through Laval QC. A similar collision happened near Brossard QC, south of Montréal, in 2022, killing two and injuring 10. The driver, Baljeet Singh, fled to the United States and only returned to Canada recently after several months of extradition hearings.

Jaskirat Singh Sidhu, mentioned above, was ordered deported but has petitioned to have his permanent resident status restored... on humanitarian grounds. As far as Walt knows, neither he nor any of the other Singhs named above, has been removed from Canada. Most of them are likely still out there on the highways of diverse Canuckistan.

* Unpublished is about empowering Canadians to become more engaged in what passes, in their woke country, for democracy. Walt recommends it highly.

Walt's pithy comment on yesterday's elections

To borrow a phrase from Pulp Fiction, before the Dimocrats start sucking each other's dicks (or whatever their wimmin have down there), they should take into account the following:

The polls in the Rotten Apple had the "Democratic Socialist" (as in "People's Democratic Socialist Republic") so far ahead that any other result was beyond wishful thinking. As Walt predicted yesterday, real estate agents in Westchester, New Rochelle, and western CT are starting minor conflagrations in their shirt cuffs, rubbing their hands together in glee at the anticipated influx of Jewish buyers.

One of the Jews who is likely packing his bags is Robert Tucker, NYC's Fire Department Commissioner, who, according to the New York Post, handed in his letter of resignation hours after Comrade Mamdani's election.

I checked the map and see that New Jersey and Virginia are both still located on the Eastern Seaboard, a region so blue that Republican candidates rarely stand more than a Chinaman's chance. [That's an old British trope -- nothing racist about it. Ed.]

Northern Virginia is inhabited almost exclusively by Washington DC snivel servants who are smart enoujgh (just barely) to not vote for a candidate who promises to reduce government bloat by firing their sorry asses. "You're fired!" are fightin' words there. And southern Virginia is still southern. Did anybody really think "those people" were going to vote for a black woman who tried to play the race card and the anti-woke card at the same time?

And then there's California, whose people... the ones who haven't fled to Colorado or Idaho... seem to have some sort of collective death wish. Nuff said.
