Your Sikhs today: Singh Uber all us

If you're ordering a ride from Uber, can you ask for a white, native-born driver? Wouldn't that be racist?

Walt thinks such a question would be only prudent, considering the frequency of incidents like one which occurred in Burlington ON last month.

Halton Region cops have charged an Uber driver -- Mandeep Singh -- after a woman was sexually assaulted twice in Burlington last month.

Inspector Singh (no relation) said the woman was in the parking lot of the Burlington GO station on June 16th at 1715 when a driver approached her. During their conversation, the driver allegedly sexually assaulted the woman.

Police said the victim left [presumably on foot. Ed] but the driver followed her to a nearby business, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her for the second time.

The driver was later identified as 25-year-old Mandeep Singh, a graduate of the Singh School of Truck Driving who was employed as an Uber driving at the time. Police said he was arrested on Sunday, and has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.

We are unable to get any information about the terms on which he was released from bail. He may be driving a ride-share vehicle somewhere in the Grerater Toronto Area [sikh] right now. Police are concerned that there may be additional victims, so if you see him, call 1-888-222-SIKH immediately!.

Canadian Christian accused of bestiality... with a horse

Walt sincerely hopes that no-one takes "You don't understand! It's part of our culture!" (WWW 15/4/26) as a suggestion that we think a proclivity for bestiality is unique to followers of the Prophet. Oh my goodness golly, no! Christians are just as likely to succumb to the temptations of the (animal) flesh.

[Are you going to give us an example? Ed.] Certainly! According to a report on Canada's Global TV News, an horse by the name of Yola, pictured below, was the subject of a sexual assault by a non-Muslim. Details below.

Earlier this week, a man named Seth Christian appeared in a Vernon BC court, charged with bestiality after being accused of sexually assaulting the old grey mare. [You're sure Yola is a mare? Ed.] Her owner, Erica Van Meenen, said that in January she discovered surveillance footage that showed a man sexually assaulting one of her horses.

She said she and her 10-year-old son were home one night when her phone began lighting up with notifications from the security cameras at her horse stables. "There was a clip and my horse [Yola] was looking very bright-eyed and aware that something was going on," she said, "So I scrolled to the next clip and that’s when a man walks by."

The Vernon detachment of the RCMP (known for their expertise in matters equestrian) were called to the property, where Ms Van Meenn watched the surveillance footage with an officer. "The officer's face just dropped," the owner said. "We both said, 'Oh my God!' He asked me right away if I was OK, and I just answered, "I'm in shock!"

Ms Van Meenan told Global News that it has been a lot to process, but finally, something is happening. "There’s a lot of people out there who were quite triggered by the situation, and it brought up a lot of trauma for other people. So it's relieving for not just myself and the horses, the owners of the horses of my property, but also the general public, because people are upset like this. It just is not acceptable."

So also says the Criminal Code of Canada, which defines bestiality as "any contact, for a sexual purpose, with an animal." Ms Van Meenan said she wants to see Mr Christian serve time. "I want to see him prosecuted to the full extent of the law. What that is, I’m not sure. I'm not sure if there is a fat jail sentence for this or what it is, but I want to see not just a slap on the wrist." [or some other bodily part. Ed.]

As for Yola, Ms Van Meenen said, "She is, seems to be, back to normal." But the situation has left her rattled. "It has given me this feeling of being uneasy in my own home, and then to see that trespassing by night wasn't on his list of charges. I'm not sure if it will be added at a later date, but that was a little bit disappointing to see that wasn't there."

Walt is reminded of a story about some British army officers who were gathered in the Mess in Cairo during the Great Unpleasantness of the early 20th century.

"Where's Smedley?" asked one. "I thought he was due back from leave."
"Didn't you hear?" replied another. "Old Smedley wasn't on leave. He was discharged from the service... dishonourably, I might add."
"Oh dear!" said the first. "Whatever for?"
"Caught having sex with a camel!" came the reply.
"Really!" said the first. "Male or female camel?"
"Female of course," came the answer. "Nothing wrong with old Smedley!"

Your Singhs today (Edmonton edition)

During the days of the Raj, particularly during World Wars I and II, the Sikhs of India (which included Pakistan, at that time), joined the British and Indian armies as drivers, mechanics, anything to do with motorized vehicles. There is no caste in Sikhism, so it seems they just naturally gravitated to such positions.

Nowadays Sikh drivers -- many of them graduates of the notorious Singh School of Truck Driving -- are to be found all over Canada and parts of the US of A, working as drivers of big rigs transporting drugs (and other things) across the World's Longest Undefended BorderTM and causing mayhem on the Interstate and provincial superhighways. See WWW passim

If they can't get work as truck drivers, some of them turn to driving for rideshare companies like Uber and Lyft. Not much to do with drugs there, but plenty of opportunity for horny Punjabis to exercise their belief that all white women are sexually available.

Case in point: Gurvinder Singh Pannu, 32, of Edmonton AB, now charged with sexual assault after an incident last summer. Edmonton cops allege that the assault happened around 0200 on 30 June 2024, when a woman ordered an Uber in the downtown area [perhaps to take her to a sunrise church service? Ed.]

A dark grey 2023 Nissan Rogue SUV picked her up near 109th St. and 101th Ave. During the trip, police allege the man driving the SUV stopped the vehicle and sexually assaulted the woman. It's not known when the victim came forward. However, a suspect was arrested and charged this last August 30th.

"Following a thorough investigation, we were able to successfully arrest and charge (a) suspect," said Constable Mughees Jutt (not a Sikh) with the Edmonton Police Service's southwest branch. "We unfortunately believe that there are others who have been impacted by this individual and we would like them to come forward so we can investigate and provide them with appropriate supports."

Mr Pannu was released under conditions including: not going to India or Pakistan for a holiday; not working for a ride sharing or taxi service; not having direct or indirect contact with the female complainant; and not possessing weapons, including knives and firearms. Whether "knives" includes the kirpan that all good Sikhs must wear at all times was not made clear.

"Just making sure their instruments were right size" defence succeeds; ex-violin teacher acquitted of measuring girl students' bare breasts;

It's been a while since our legal beagle, Agent 3, sent us a good story, but today we have a titillating tale from the courts of Ontario, Canada. Crown prosecutors will ask the Ontario Court of Appeal tomorrow to overturn a lower court judge's finding that Claude Trachy, of Chatham ON, a former violin teacher, did not act "with a sexual purpose" when he measured more than 20 of his teen students' bare breasts while fitting them for shoulder rests. Rather, the trial judge found, M Trachy (not pictured) believed it was necessary to properly equip the students.

The Crown is now asking the appellate court to convict the ex-teacher on some of the charges, or at least order a new trial on all of them. In its appeal documents, filed today, the Crown says the complainants, who are now adults, testified they were asked to remove their shirt and bra on the left side so that Trachy could measure them from collarbone to nipple. They testified he touched their breast during this process and often would then have them play with their left breast exposed. Four complainants also alleged he took a plastic mould of their left breast.

M Trachy took the stand in his own defence, and swore he did indeed ask the girls to undo their blouses so he could measure them, but maintained he derived no sexual gratification from it. He also denied cupping or rubbing any of the complainants' breasts, as some of them alleged.

In its factum, the Crown notes that "no boys, notwithstanding their growth, size or shape, were touched in this fashion." Neither was M Trachy's daughter, who also played violin. It also says the perfesser didn't have a formula for how the measurement translated into shoulder rest adjustment, and had no rationale for how often the girls needed to be assessed.

The Crown alleges the trial judge made a number of errors, including oversimplified the allegations to focus exclusively on whether the accused acted with a sexual purpose. Prosecutors say sexual intention is only a necessary element of some of the charges, such as sexual interference, but does not need to be proven for others, such as sexual assault, which only requires that the touching be of a sexual nature. They argue as well that the trial judge failed to properly consider the evidence of an expert witness, who testified there was no justification for touching the students' breasts as part of a fitting, nor was it a known or documented practice.

As might be expected, counsel for the defence take the position that the appeal has no legal basis and the Crown is simply seeking a do-over of the trial. "Though framed in terms of legal error," their factum says, "the Crown's appeal amounts to a thinly disguised claim of 'unreasonable acquittal', a ground of appeal that does not exist in Canadian law." Their written submission continues, "Focusing primarily on the respondent's purpose for the touching was in no way improper because, in these circumstances, this was going to be the crucial issue determining proof of guilt."

Agent 3 discounts as an "inside joke" the rumour in legal circles that Donald Trump, Slick Willy Clinton and Creepy Joe Biden are seeking intervenor status in the case.

Brit mom calls out "Sleeping Beauty" for promoting sexual harassment

In addition to Zimbabwe, I have lived and worked in Britain -- notice I didn't say "GREAT Britain" -- and can tell you that it really is a nitwit country, worse even than Canada. It is a land where sexual exploitation of underage girls is overlooked if it's done by Muslims, because no-one wants to be accused of racism, but a fictional story in which a handsome prince kisses a Sleeping Beauty may be removed from schools because it "might have an inappropriate message".

Seriously. This is not satire. According to the Newcastle Chronicle, Sarah Hall, a "public relations professional" as well as an "online advocate for gender and diversity issues", was shocked, SHOCKED, to realize, while reading Sleeping Beauty to her six-year-old son, that it might influence him to believe that it was OK to kiss a girl without her consent.

Ms Hall took to Twitter (of course) to share these concerns, and asked her son's school to ban the book, claiming that it teaches children that it's okay to kiss a woman while she's asleep.

"I think it's a specific issue in the Sleeping Beauty story about sexual behaviour and consent," she told the Chronicle. "It’s about saying is this still relevant, is it appropriate? In today’s society, it isn’t appropriate. My son is only six, he absorbs everything he sees, and it isn’t as if I can turn it into a constructive conversation."

However, when Ms Hall contacted her son's school and asked for the book to be removed from classes for younger children's classes, she acknowledged that the book could be a "great resource" for older children. "I don’t think taking Sleeping Beauty books [sic] out of circulation completely would be right. I actually think it would be a great resource for older children, you could have a conversation around it, you could talk about consent, and how the Princess might feel," she said.

Ms Hall's comments sparked a debate on Twitter, where many criticized her interpretations of the story.

Another Twitterer added, "You know that bears don’t really eat porridge, right?"

Hellery shocked, SHOCKED by (((Weinstein))) revelations

Walt is gratified to learn that Hellery Clinton reads WWW. In "Why Walt hasn't written about (((Harvey Weinstein)))", posted 10/10, I said that I would comment on the sordid sex scandals of the fallen mogul as soon as La Clinton said something. Yesterday (114/10) Mrs Bill gave her network (CNN - Clinton News Network) the OK to release an interview Wednesday with Fareed Zakaria in which she put on her self-righteous face and said she was "sick" and "shocked" by the news of (((Harvey Weinstein)))'s reported decades of sexual assault against women.

"I was appalled," said the enabler and defender of the most lecherous POTUS since, errr, JFK. "It was something that was just intolerable in every way. And, you know, like so many people who've come forward and spoken out, this was a different side of a person who I and many others had known in the past." Apart from being ungrammatical, the last sentence simply doesn't have the ring of truth.

Nor does Mrs Bill's pledge to donate some -- not all, but some -- of the money he raised for her to charity. "Of course I will do that," she said. "I give 10% of my income to charity every year," she added. "This will be part of that. There's no doubt about it." All that was needed was a flashing "virtue signal!" key. Commissarka Pinkie suggests on The People's Cube that the Democrats will send Mr (((Weinstein)))'s dirty money out to be laundered by groups of women, who will give it back to the Democrats all clean and folded and April fresh.

My eyes are rolling too much to write more. I'll give the second-last word to celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, who Tweeted the following:

Should criminal refugees and illegal aliens be identified as such?

Following reports in the Canadian media (and here on WWW!) that a Syrian "refugee" was arrested in Edmonton AB for sexual assaults on six teenaged girls, the usual suspects have started pissing and moaning that it's not fair to identify, as such, "refugees" and asylum-seekers charged with criminal acts.

CBC News quotes one Mohamed Huque, the totally unbiased executive director of the Islamic Family and Social Services Association, as saying that identifying miscreants who claim refugee status will "inflame a segment of our population who already harbour a bias, a discrimination or unfair views towards newcomers." That's his polite way of calling people who don't welcome Muslim invaders -- pardon, "newcomers" -- "racists".

The effect, of course, would be to "embolden" people like Alexandre Bissonnette, now the only suspect in the attack on a mosque in Québec City a couple of weeks ago. See "What REALLY happened at Québec City???", WWW 5/2/17 (includes great video with Gavin McInnes!) Mr Huque said the case is already being used "to incite fear of new immigrants, and has cast a negative light on thousands of refugees."

Obviously the best way to keep stories about the criminality of refugees -- Syrians, Muslims or "other" -- from being used to inflame passions against these poor seekers after freedom and a better life is not to ask them to refrain from abusing the hospitality of the host nations, but... wait for it... to keep such stories from being published. Or, at least, to stop identifying the perps as Muslims or Syrians or refugees or asylum-seekers or anything that would distinguish them from law-abiding white Christians.

Will Canada's government start censoring the lamestream media? Maybe, maybe not. Will the LMS start censoring themselves? They already do! The CBC, guilty guilty guilty of allowing comments on the Québec mosque story (only after the Mohamed became just a "witness") has kept closed the comments box on the West Edmonton Mall story and the terribly offended reaction of Mr Huque and the SJWs.

In the USA, by contrast, the new administration will start publishing weekly lists of crimes committed by illegal aliens. A new Office for Victims of Crimes Committed by Removable Aliens will provide quarterly reports studying the effects of the victimization by criminal aliens present in the United States, and will publish quarterly reports on the immigration status of all prisoners inside the country. So says President Trump's "Executive Order: Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior of the United States", issued on 25 January 2017.

During his election campaign, President Trump pointed out that illegal immigrants and "other non-citizens" in US prisons and jails had around 25,000 homicide arrests to their names (United States Government Accountability Office, March 2011). He also referred to the fact that there are at least two million convicted criminal aliens now inside the country, and that since 2013 alone, the Obama Administration had allowed 300,000 criminal aliens to return back into U.S. communities.

The executive order was issued in the interest of enhanced national security. Mr Trump pointed out, during the campaign, that between 9/11 and the end of 2014, at least 380 foreign-born individuals were convicted in terror cases inside the United States. (U.S. Senate Immigration Subcommittee, June 22, 2016).

The measures in the Executive Order should therefore have come as no surprise to anyone who had bothered to read Mr Trump's election promises. Contrary to what is now being asserted by the legal beagles hired by Democratic state governments to challenge the Oder, it is merely forcing the Department of Homeland Security to "ensure the faithful execution of the immigration laws of the United States, including the INA, against all removable aliens, consistent with Article II, Section 3 of the United States Constitution and section 3331 of title 5, United States Code," and "make use of all available systems and resources to ensure the efficient and faithful execution of the immigration laws of the United States."

In other words, President Trump's Executive Order does not in fact create any new laws, and merely insists that existing laws be enforced. Surely that's not asking too much of the courts... is it?

Footnote: In response to the Edmonton cops' request for more information about the West Edmonton Mall assaults, one witness and one additional victim of the Syrian refugee pervert have come forward. Walt will bring you further news of the Syrian refugee pervert as and when it happens. Censorship be damned!

Welcome to Canada, Syrian refugees!

President Trump put a freeze -- perhaps temporary, perhaps permanent -- on allowing Syrian refugees into the USA. Canada's Prime Minister (and chief advocate for diversity in the free world) Justin Trudeau, promptly declared that anyone turned away from the Land of the Free was welcome to come to Canada. Especially Syrians, provided they're Muslim Syrians. Just say the magic words, "I vote Liberal!" and you're in.

What to make of the suggestion that some of those to be allowed in to the Great No-longer-white North are potential terrorists, or at least criminals? Oh pish-tush! quoth Hairboy. These are just peaceful people who have been oppressed and marginalized and disadvantaged, and deserve nothing but sympathy... and welfare cheques to show the love.

Walt wonders if M Trudeau has heard today's news from Edmonton, Alberta. That's the site of West Edmonton Mall, one of the biggest shopping centres in North America... hell, in the world! [How big is it? Ed.] It's soooo big that it has its own lake, complete with a little submarine you can ride in, part of a huuuuge water park, all indoors. (Anyone who's been to Edmonton will understand why.)

This weekend the waterpark was booked for a private party by the Non-Academic Staff Association which represents non-academic staff working on the University of Alberta campus. Police were called in about 10:30 PM on Saturday, following reports that a man had inappropriately touched six teenage girls while they were in swimming.

In his mild-mannered Canadian way, police spokesthingy Scott Pattison told the meeja, "It's fairly shocking. It's involved and traumatized six individuals and their families." The girls, all under 16, "were very courageous in coming forward and talking to the lifeguard," he added. "That’s not always the case."

Police arrested a man on scene and took him into custody. [Are we coming to the surprise ending? Ed.] Yes. The alleged pervert, now charged with six counts of sexual assault and six counts of sexual interference, is Soleiman Hajj Soleiman, a Syrian refugee and father of six, who was not heard to shout "Allahu akbar!" as he was led away.

Innocent question: If Mr Soleiman is convicted, will he be sent back where he came from? Obvious answer: NO. Lifetime pct .989.

Footnote: Last year Sweden took in 163,000 "refugees" and asylum-seekers. CBC News (which doesn't seem to have the West Edmonton Mall story yet) quotes the Swedish Minister of the Interior as saying that 60,000 to 80,000 of them are to be deported or "asked to leave voluntarily". So polite those Swedes. But Canucks will be even more polite, even if it kills them!

UPDATED: The Economist on integrating Muslims into European society

This is a follow-up to "Speaking of integrating Muslims into European society...", posted here yesterday. The postman [letter carrier, surely! Ed.] just delivered this week's Economist (16/1/16), from which I've selected two interesting (and apparently contradictory) quotes.

A leader (= editorial, for North Americans) headed "Migrant men and European women", on p. 12 of the North American edition, has, as its subtitle: "To absorb newcomers peacefully, Europe must insist they respect values such as tolerance and sexual equality". Oh, hahahahahahahaha! See the last paragraph of yesterday's post.

From the same issue, "Cologne's aftershocks" (p. 57) concludes: "In retrospect it is clear that Mrs Merkel's hopeful New Year's address coincided with the appearance of immigration's dark side [Was that intentional? Ed.] on German streets, and that her warnings have not been heeded. Some refugees have not respected German rules and traditions. Germans are divided. Germany's neighbours, from Hungary and Poland to Switzerland and Denmark, have sneered at Mrs Merkel's 'welcome culture'. It now looks tenuous even at home."

Any further comment would be superfluous. However, thanks to Agent 3, we do have a

Footnote from Canada: Justin Trudeau, Canada's liberal Liberal new Prime Minister, won election in October on (among other things) a promise to bring 25,000 Syrian refugees to Canada by 31 December 2015. The target date has since been pushed back to 31 December 2016. As of mid-January, about 10,000 have actually arrived, most being dumped into Toronto, Vancouver and Ottawa. Yesterday the mayors of Vancouver and Ottawa asked M Trudeau and his Minister of Refugees, John McCallum, to please hold the Mohammed salads -- thanks to Mark Steyn for that line -- for a while because, errr, there's no more room for them.

UPDATED 20/1/16
: Vancouver and Ottawa have asked for a "pause" in bringing in more Syrian "refugees". And now it's Halifax and even Toronto (!!!) admitting they can't take any more... for now... you understand... Of course it has nothing to do with the backlash against queue-jumping asylum-seekers which has manifested itself in such things as a huddled mass of them being pepper-sprayed in Vancouver by some terrible racist who's against diversity.

Speaking of integrating Muslims into European society...

When British Prime Minister David Cameron told female Muslim immigrants to learn English or get out, he said the taxpayer-funded language courses being set up for newcomers were meant to help them integrate into British society. Walt doubts that any number of well-meant education programmes -- in language, sexual mores or whatever -- can ever turn Muslim aliens into good citizens of post-Christian Europe.

Case in point: the New Year's Eve sex attacks in Köln and other cities of Germany and northern Europe. When German police finally admitted that some of the suspects were Arabs and North Africans, the usual anti-racism said we mustn't rush to judgment, blaming Muslim immigrants/refugees/asylum-seekers, as no charges had yet been laid.

Well, charges were laid today. The first person charged is a 26-year-old Algerian man. Prosecutors said Monday that the unidentified asylum-seeker [probably "Mohammed" something-or-other. Ed.] was arrested at a refugee home in the nearby town of Kerpen over the weekend. A spokesthingy for the public prosecutor told AP the Muslim -- for that's what he is -- stands accused of groping a woman and stealing her cellphone.

Two other Algerian asylum-seekers, aged 22 and 24, were also arrested in Kerpen and the western city of Aachen, respectively, over the weekend, both for robbery. The number of people accused of committing crimes in Cologne at New Year's now stands at 21, of whom eight are in detention.

Almost three weeks after the wave of assaults, thefts and general bad behaviour, 838 people have filed criminal complaints. That includes nearly 500 women who allege that they were sexually assaulted. Some of the victims have jointly filed a single complaint, so that the number of alleged crimes stands at 766, of which 381 are sexual offences, including three rapes.

Is it OK now, Walt asks, to point the finger of blame and shame at Muslim "refugees" and asylum-seekers? What should be done with these alleged people, if they are convicted? Perhaps they should be sentenced to several hours of sensitivity training, or maybe a little time in "re-education camps" -- something which the Germans have some experience with.

Trump warns Germans after asylum-seekers' sex and crime spree

Germans -- real Aryan Germans -- are bitterly divided over the wave of sexual assaults, thefts and other crimes which rocked central Köln (Cologne) on New Year’s Eve. In spite of over-whelming evidence that the majority of the perps were Muslim immigrants and "refugees" from the Middle East and North Africa, there are still many guilt-ridden Krauts who defend Chancellor Merkel's "Willkommenskultur" policy of welcoming the migrants with open arms.

Growing numbers of protesters have taken to the streets of Köln and other German cities to demand that criminal foreigners be deported (und schnell!), and that bogus refugees and other scum be prevented from entering the Fatherland in the first place. But other crowds of "anti-racists" and "human rights activists" insist on blaming the police or the victims!

As Walt told you on Wednesday, Herr Inspektor Katzenjammer, after some politically correct hemming and hawing, admitted that the perpetrators were of "Arab or North African origin". In one report, police quoted a man as saying, "I’m a Syrian! You have to treat me kindly! Mrs. Merkel invited me."

By today, at least 106 women had come forward to file criminal complaints of sexual assault and robbery during the New Year’s Eve festivities. That includes two reported rapes. Police initially failed to mention the assaults in their presser the following morning, describing the festivities as "largely peaceful"!

Witnesses told a different story. German media quoted dozens of women who said they were followed by groups of men who groped them, tried to pull off their clothes and stole valuables. One victim told BBC News, "They grabbed our arms, pushed our clothes away, and tried to get between our legs or I don’t know where!"

Der Spiegel quotes an unidentified senior official of Germany’s national police as reporting a "chaotic and shameful" evening in which a lack of officers at the scene meant those there "reached the limits of their abilities pretty quickly.... Women, accompanied or not, literally ran a gauntlet through masses of heavily intoxicated men that words cannot describe." [Said he, using words to describe the scene. Ed.]

Authorities have, however, described the men as being largely of “Arab or North African origin.” According to the report, at least one officer quoted a man as saying: “I’m a Syrian! You have to treat me kindly! Mrs. Merkel invited me.”

Tobias Plate, a spokesthingy for the Ministry of the Interior, told reporters today that federal police have identified 18 out of 31 suspects as asylum-seekers. The suspects included 9 Algerians, 8 Moroccans, 5 Iranians, 4 Syrians, 2 Germans, and one person each from Iraq, Serbia and (wait for it) the USA. Yes, he said, most of the men detained were North African, but investigators had yet to "prove with concrete evidence" that they were actually involved, and people should not jump to conclusions! Some konfusie op die stasie, surely!

Thorsten Craemer, of the Bürgerbewegung PRO NRW political party, declared, "This is where Merkel’s irresponsible immigration policy will lead us. There will be battles for resources, confrontations far worse than what we’ve experienced on New Year’s Eve."

And what does Chancellor Merkel say? Yesterday she said she didn't think the New Year’s Eve events were isolated cases, and that they must be dealt with swiftly and firmly. She said she feared that the incidents showed contempt for women. Well, DUH! "We have to send out clear signals to those who are not willing to observe our laws," said Dr. Merkel. "We must examine again and again whether we have already done what is necessary in terms of...deportations from Germany in order to send clear signals to those who are not prepared to abide by our legal order."

Perhaps Chancellor Merkel should consider some advice offered yesterday by Donald Trump, who raised the issue on Twitter. "Germany is going through massive attacks to its people by the migrants allowed to enter the country," he wrote. "New Years Eve was a disaster. THINK!"

Canadian Armed Forces' "Operation Hop on Her"

Meet General Tom Lawson, formerly Canada's Chief of Defence Staff. His retirement in July had nothing to do his claim in June that sexual harassment was still an issue in the Canadian Armed Forces because men were "biologically wired in a certain way."

General Lawson was commenting on a report by former Supreme Court of Canada Justice Marie Deschamps, who had looked into a number of reports of sexual assault and harassment in the Canadian military. Her report, released on April 30th, raised warnings about a "sexualized culture" that subjected women in uniform to abuse ranging from sexual jokes and harassment to rape. She concluded that sexual misconduct was not only "endemic" in the Canadian Forces, but accepted by the military leadership.

Strong stuff, eh! To deal with the politically incorrect situation, the Canucks chose a lady, Lieutenant-General Christine Whitecross, to head a special team to, errr... well... deal with it.

But wait (as Vince Offer used to say), there's more! Incoming top dog General Jon Vance unveiled a hard-hitting plan to crack down on sexual misconduct in the ranks and send a tough message to those who engage in sexual harassment, assault or other inappropriate behaviour. He called it "Operation Honour".

But, Canadian boys being Canadian boys, it didn’t take long for some uniformed wags to come up with a new name for the plan. Some recruits at the Royal Military College, as well as other Canadian Forces personnel including individuals at National Defence headquarters in Ottawa, transmuted "Op Honour" to "Hop On `Er". [Geddit? If not, imagine saying "Op Honour" with a French-Canadian accent. It's a pun! See, now? Ed.]

Military officers told the Ottawa Citizen (our source for this story) that they'd heard such terminology, but couldn't say how widespread the use of the phrase has been. Canadian Forces spokesthingy Captain Jean-François Lambert said in an e-mail to the paper that the crude rephrasing of "Operation Honour" is unacceptable and not condoned. "These matters do not call for levity. This type of behaviour is one of the many reasons [Gen. Vance] has implemented Operation Honour. We expect all members [of the military] to take this issue seriously."

But how seriously does the CAF take it?  After not quite three months, Lt-Gen. Whitecross has been reassigned. The new head of the "Strategic Response Team on Sexual Misconduct" is Rear Admiral Jennifer Bennett, who took over on September 28th.

In her short time on the job, Lt-Gen. Whitecross racked up a lot of air miles, on Canuck taxpayers' dime. She visited 13 military bases and installations across the Great Not-so-white North to hear directly about sexual misconduct. [From whom did she hear? Ed.] She also travelled to the USA, whose armed forces have a stellar record on the file, as well as France, Australia, Sweden, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Denmark.

Asked about the rather sudden departure of Lt-Gen. Whitecross, Capt. Lambert explained that Rear Admiral Bennett, previously in charge of reserves and military cadets, will still report to Lt-Gen. Whitecross, who is now in charge of the military personnel command. And, he said, "the overall effort against sexual misconduct is led by the Chief of the Defence Staff." So that's OK then.

Capt. Lambert added that the military believes it has made significant progress dealing with sexual misconduct but "we cannot expect to change culture overnight." Which is more or less what General Lawson said. Capt. Lambert's retirement is expected to be announced shortly.

Humorous footnote: Walt cannot refrain from repeating a story about two officers in a Canadian regiment [the Forlorn Scots? Ed.] who were chatting in the mess.
Said the first one, "Did you hear about old Smythe? Got drummed out of the service."
"Why?" asked the second.
"Got caught screwing a polar bear," was the reply.
"Male or female polar bear?" was the next question.
"Male, of course!" was the response. "Nothing wrong with old Smythe!"

HKG woman convicted of assaulting cop with her breasts

Walt apologizes sincerely and profusely for not being able to find a video or at least a better picture to go with the following true story from the Mysterious Orient. [Actually, I'm the one who should be apologizing. But in WWW (unlike Washington DC) the boss carries the can for whatever happens... or doesn't. Ed.]

The South China Morning Post reported on Friday that Ms Ng Lai-ying, aged 30, has been convicted of assaulting a police officer with her breasts during a violent protest in Hong Kong. She was taking part in a demonstration on the streets of Yuen Long against parallel trading (sort of a black market for mainland Chinese) when the incident took place last March.

Ms Ng claimed that Chief Inspector Chan of the Hong Kong police had tried to grab her bag but instead touched her left breast. However, Inspector Chan insisted that it was Ms Ng who bumped her breasts into his arm in order to falsely accuse him of assault.

The presiding magistrate sided with the cop -- surprise, surprise! -- telling the accused, "You used your female identity to trump up the allegation that the officer had molested you." And, he added, Ms Ng's "malicious" claims were damaging to the CI’s reputation. Officers policing protests "should be protected", he said. "There were two groups of people expressing different points of view at the protest. Without police officers there to maintain order, it is not surprising that there was commotion, or even clashes."

Walt has seen a picture of Ms Ng, taken following her arrest, which show her face (only) with a bloody nose, which she said she got when the cops pushed her to the ground. We have chosen instead this photo, which appeared on the Net within minutes. Agent 78 translates the caption as "Big or small, your boobs can be a weapon!"

Ms Ng is to be sentenced later this month. However, Agent 3 recommends an appeal on the grounds that the alleged weapons were not produced and identified in court.

Walt would like to know the calibre of the "weapons". Assuming they were, say, 34A -- typical for a 30-year-old Chinese -- surely the maxim De minimis non curat lex would apply!

Parents of raped 14-year-old mutilate Muslim cleric, say he should be "punished even more severely"

Interesting item on Reuters today, a report from some remote part of Armpitistan, where the parents of a 14-year-old girl have been arrested after they attacked a Muslim cleric who (the parents say) perpetrated a series of sexual attacks on their daughter. For revenge -- and the honour of the family of course -- they cut off the holy man's... wait for it... nose and ears. What?! Did you think it would be something else?

The provincial "head of women's affairs" [What does this mean, actually? Ed.] told Reuters that the girl had told her parents four months ago she had been assaulted. Speaking from the police chief's office, Abdul Qahar, the girl's father, said, "I invited the mullah to dinner. Then I cut off his ears and nose. I don't know if a cat ate his ears, but his nose went down the drain."

The 32-year-old cleric denied he had assaulted the girl. Police said they have opened a case against him. In most of Afghanistan, outside the capital, Islamic sharia law takes precedence over secular criminal or civil law. Said the girl's mother, Sultana, "If there was a functioning rule of law, then he would be punished even more severely!"

International human rights activists say there has been a sharp rise in violent attacks against women in the deeply fundamental Muslim country, where women have fought hard to gain rights after the collapse of Taliban government in 2001. Restoring women's rights after the Taliban was ousted by an American-led coalition of troops was cited as one of the main objectives of the war. Mission not accomplished!

What lesson do we learn from stories like this? They're savages there, one and all. Leave the benighted heathens to cutting off each other's body parts and whatever else seems "right" to them!

14-year-old selling chocolate bars victim of sexual assault

Agent 3 sends us a short story from Hamilton, Ontario.

A Niagara Falls man is facing sex charges following an investigation by Hamilton Police involving a 14-year-old.

Police said the investigation looked into complaints said to have occurred between May 2012 and February 2013 when the teen was selling chocolate bars door-to-door and in parking lots in the Hamilton area.

Charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and uttering threats is Maged Younes, 33, of Niagara Falls.

The article in the QMI papers doesn't say who the teen victim was working for, but Len would be prepared to be a chocolate bar that it was Help Kids Canada. See "Chocolate for charity scam still operating?" The answer appears to be "yes".

Also not clear from the story is how the girl could have been assaulted by the same person over the course of ten months. Is it possible the perp was the kid's "manager"?

Another innocent question: What is the accused's immigration status in Canada?

Anyone with further information is asked to call Hamilton police at 905-546-3854.

Sex crimes in the military and police: Walt has the solution

Interesting to watch the chiefs of the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard testifying about the sex crimes scandals in front of a Senate committee yesterday. They were flanked by countless underlings, all in dress uniform. Why, there was more salad in that room yesterday than on the buffet at the Willard.

The military chiefs were shocked, shocked to learn of the 10s of 1000s of cases of sexual harrassment and assault -- meaning everything from ass-grabbing to violent rape -- reported every year. Not to mention an equal or higher number which are not reported for fear of retribution or at least diminution of mililtary career prospects.

They were more shocked to hear that the rate of conviction in cases brought before military tribunals is substantially lower than for similar prosecutions in civil courts. Worse yet, many commanders, for reasons known only to them, set aside convictions, leaving the guilty horndogs with not even a reprimand on their records.

If these were war crimes -- like the slaughter of innocent villagers in Afghanistan -- exonerating the perps would be Standard Operating Procedure, because war is hell. But we're talking about incidents at home in the USA, not in theaters of war. And we're talking about crimes committed by soldiers, sailors and airmen against female soldiers, sailors and, errr, well, you know what I mean.

Such criminal behaviour is not confined to the US military. It's the same in police forces too. Nor is the abuse and humiliation of women to be found only in America, where notions of "gender equality" are strongest. North of the border, the famous (or infamous) Royal Canadian Mounted Police are on the sharp end of a class action lawsuit alleging serious and persistent harrassment and abuse of female Mounties.

In all the testimony as to the reasons for these crimes and what should be done to the perps, one basic point has been overlooked. It falls to Walt to point out that the incidence of heterosexual rape and other sex crimes in the military was just about nil until the 1970s. That's because until the feminists started nagging for gender equality, there were virtually no women in regular units of the police and armed forces. Security and law enforcement was a man's world!

But, the bra-burners and wimmin's libbers insisted, whatever a man can do, a woman can do too! (Walt can think of one exception but that's a topic for another day.) Not only can do, but ought to do. Including combat duty in the war zones of Baghdad or Trenton NJ.

Some old-fashioned types (like Walt) said that if you put a few even moderately attractive women in the same barracks or shelter half with men who haven't had the "comforts of home" in months (and who are bullies by nature anyway, otherwise why would they be in uniform), there's bound to be sexual tension and sexual trouble. And that's exactly what happened.

So the solution is simple. If women want to be in the armed forces, put them in segregated units, as was done before. Keep them away from the men!

Then the guys can go back to having sex with each other, if they're desperate enough. It was good enough for the Royal Navy, which in the old days was said to "run on rum and buggery". And in today's PC world, no-one's going to make a fuss about homosexual rape.

Footnote: The soldiers in the picture are Israelis. They have been disciplined for posting this photo on Facebook. Walt supposes that if US wimmin soldiers looked like this (instead of like Ellen DeGeneres) the problem would be even worse!

US military takes sexual assault seriously... you betcha!

"Sexual assault is criminal conduct. It falls well short of the standards America expects of its men and women in uniform." So says the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response website of the Yewnited States Department of Defense.

Yes indeedy, folks! The "Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program reinforces the Air Force’s commitment to eliminate incidents of sexual assault through awareness and prevention training, education, victim advocacy, response, reporting and accountability."

And if you're in any doubt, look how promptly the SAPR unit moved to punish an offender, removing from his position a high-ranking officer -- Lieutenant-Colonel Jeffrey Krusinski -- after he was charged with sexual battery following an "incident" in Arlington County VA early Sunday morning.

A police spokesthingy told the press that Lt.Col. Krusinski was drunk and grabbed the breast and buttocks of a woman he didn't know, in a parking lot. She fought him off and called police. The accused was released Sunday on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond, and is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday.

Since February of this year, Lt.Col. Krusinski had held the position of, errr, leader of the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response unit. Walt guesses that's why the local police, rather than the SAPR unit was called in.

AP reports that Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has spoken with Air Force Secretary Michael Donley about the matter and “expressed outrage and disgust over the troubling allegations and emphasized that this matter will be dealt with swiftly and decisively.”

Will Krusinski be drummed out of the USAF? Will this be the last sexual assault perpetrated by a serviceman? Will heads roll? Will the Pope convert to Protestantism? Answers on the back of a postage stamp to the usual address.

"Rape" cases rock Zimbabwe courts... with laughter

Sleazy CZ, my Zimbo buddy, forwards accounts of two cases from the Harare magistrates courts. State prosecutor Tinashe Kanyemba had a bad day yesterday, trying to get convictions on two (separate) charges of rape, brought in typically Zimbabwean circumstances.

In the first case, a nurse aide at Parirenyatwa Hospital was caught with her panties down, having sexual intercourse inside the hospital's morgue. [Cool! Ed.] No, she wasn't doing a stiff. Rather it was the stiffy of a mortuary attendant, who she accused of raping her after being caught in the act by a co-worker.

Harare magistrate Memory Chigwaza* acquitted the accused, finding that the sex act was consensual. "The complainant did not alert [the co-worker] about the sexual act," said the magistrate. "Instead, she combed her hair and arranged her clothing. It would appear the complainant consented to sexual intercourse and after she had been caught red-handed having sexual intercourse in the mortuary. This may have caused her to report rape out of shame as she was married, pregnant and with a child."

The magistrate wondered why the complainant did not scream to alert people, especially considering all this was happening in a hospital. The girl had testified that had she screamed no one would have come to her rescue as people would assume someone’s relative had died. But the magistrate found that "a cry for help for someone in danger is different from a cry for a deceased relative."

Since the complainant did not scream, the court believed the woman willingly got into the mortuary to have sexual intercourse. "If she had been raped, there was no reason for her to agree for compensation in order for her not to report to police. There was nothing for her to negotiate with a rapist."

The afternoon trial didn't go any better for Mr. Kanyemba. Here again, the complainant was caught with her panties down -- in her hands, actually -- at Zimbabwe Grounds in Highfield. A man masquerading as a cop was also found naked from the waist down when real cops arrived on the scene.

The prosecutor told the court the accused had stalked the woman after she had parted ways with her boyfriend following a sexual encounter somewhere in the Mukuvisi woodlands. As the woman neared her home, the accused approached her, saying she was under arrest for having sexual intercourse at Mukuvisi.

He then allegedly ordered the woman to come with him to Machipisa Police Station. On the way, they passed through Zimbabwe Grounds, where the accused requested the woman to have sex with him, so as to be released without a charge.

But the woman refused, so -- she said -- the accused forced her to do the deed. Skepticism was accompanied by not a little laughter, however, when the complainant said she did not scream during the rape as she had already done so during sex with her boyfriend.

During the incident, the court heard, patrolling uniformed police passed by and allegedly caught the couple in flagrante. In his defence, the accused explained, "I asked if I could have sexual intercourse with her for a short time for a fee and she agreed. She asked where we would do it because she had a boyfriend and was afraid they would separate if he found out.

"She asked if I had a condom and I said yes. I wore a condom and she removed her underwear and we had sexual intercourse," he said. Unfortunately, he added, the police arrived before he had settled the bill, and the woman turned against him when the police threatened to detain both of them for loitering. The trial continues next week.

* Zimbabweans have an interesting assortment of given names. Walt has a collection of over 5000. Latest addition: "Luscious Chitsinde", a "chief" (local headman) in Mashonaland.

Bangladeshi would-be rapist Bobbitted

Agent 17 forwards an AFP report from Bangladesh, a Muslim country where women are supposed to be submissive. Seems one 40-year-old Bangladeshi woman wasn't about to lie down and take it! When a married father of five, also 40, tried to rape her, she cut off his johnson and took it to a police station as evidence.

The woman was attacked Saturday night while she was sleeping in her shanty in Jhalakathi district, about 120 miles south of the capital, Dhaka. Police chief Abul Khaer explained, "As he tried to rape her, the lady cut his penis off with a knife. She then wrapped up the penis in a piece of polythene and brought it to the Jhalakathi police station as evidence of the crime." Chief Khaer did not say if the evidence was...errr...hard or otherwise.

The severed penis was kept at the police station, and the rape suspect was undergoing treatment in the hospital. It was not immediately clear if -- on the theory that you might as well finish what's been started -- the accused had opted for a complete sex change operation. Said Chief Khaer, "We shall arrest him (or her) once his (or her) condition gets better."

A Muslim can't rape his wife, Imam says

Ed. tells me I should clarify that headline. It doesn't mean that a Muslim isn't allowed to rape his wife. It means that if a couple is married, according to Islamic principles violent, non-consensual sex is not rape.

In other words, rape isn't rape when it occurs within a marriage. So says Sheikh Maulana Abu Sayeed, president of the Islamic Sharia Council in Britain.

In an interview with the blog "The Samosa", he said "Clearly there cannot be any rape within the marriage. Maybe aggression, maybe indecent activity."

The sheikh (or imam) was speaking about a new (2008) "Muslim Marriage Contract", drafted by the London-based Muslim inssitute to modernize the contract that governs most Muslim marriages in the UK. The contract says, among other things, "The husband undertakes not to abuse his wife/child(ren) verbally, emotionally, physically, or sexually."

Sayeed said the revamped contract just serves "to make it exactly as the Western culture demands is as if we are compromising Islamic religion with secular non-Islamic values." [My emphasis. Walt.]

But, the imam told the blog, "It is not an aggression, it is not an assault, it is not some kind of jumping on somebody's individual right. [My emphasis again.] Because when they got married, the understanding was that sexual intercourse was part of the marriage, so there cannot be anything against sex in marriage. Of course, if it happened without her desire, that is no good, that is not desirable."

Not desirable, but also not a crime, he said. Instead, if a man rapes his wife, he should seek forgiveness from his wife and Allah, Sayeed said. That's what good Muslims believe.
