VIDEO: The enshittification of our society -- why everything is shitty now

Walt's car (yes, I do have one!) is a 2016 gas-powered compact sedan, assembled (but not made) in North America. It cost me $17,000 new, including the extended warranty which I wouldn't have needed if the manufacturer had built a better car to start with.

Extended warranties are like paying in advance for the manufacturer to fix something which they know is going to have to be fixed. Why? Because it's shitty! It was made that way! But I bought the car and, on balance, didn't get totally screwed. I've had nearly 14 years of use out of it with only half a dozen days "in the shop". But now it's got 100,000 miles on it, and I'm in the predicament described at the 3:15 mark of this video.

Another example of why things are getting shittier than ever, because they're planned that way, is the end of support for Windows 10. I'm still using Win10 and refuse to bow to the pressure to "upgrade" to Win11. Bill Gates has too many hooks in me as it is!

Thanks to the Norwegian Consumer Council for drawing attention to and confirming our suspicions about the shittiness of everything! Is there anything we consumers can do about it? I haven't watched the video linked at the end of this video, but I doubt it. Maybe in Norway consumers have more power than in North America. But at least we can voice our objections to "Make itr shitty!" Who knows? Some marketer might just listen... some day....

VIDEO: Climate alarmists WRONG; Dilbert RIGHT

I see the COP30 summit in Belém, Brazil has already degenereated into bickering and brawls between the eco-wienies, climate alarmists and the indigenous people who think the whole leftie schmooze-fest is a waste of money which should be going to help them.

For those who were saying "Wut?", COP30 is the 30th annual United Nations climate change conference. About 50,000 people, including diplomats and "climate experts" from more than 190 countries (but somehow excluding Greta Thunberg) started beating their gums on Monday about the climate "crisis" and its "devastating impacts", including the rising frequency of extreme weather.

The hosts have a packed agenda, with 145 meetings planned to discuss the green fuel transition and global warming as well as the failure [Did they really use that word? Ed.] to implement past promises. 

Andre Correa do Lago, president of this year's conference, emphasised that negotiators engage in "mutirao", a Brazilian word derived from an Indigenous word that refers to a group uniting to work on a shared task. In a statement published on Sunday, he wrote, "Either we decide to change by choice, together, or we will be imposed change by tragedy. We can change. But we must do it together."

Apparently the indigenous people aren't on the same page. Last night, tussles erupted between protesters and security guards -- COP30 cops  -- when a group of indigenous and non-indigenous people (Pretendians?) stormed the conference centre in Belém. Several dozen men and women, some in brightly coloured feather headdress, ran through the entrance, pushing at least one door off its hinges, before striding through the metal detectors. 

At least one non-indigenous man was carrying a banner that read "Our forests are not for sale!" Others wore T-shirts saying "Juntos" (= Together).They waved banners and chanted until being forcibly removed. 

It is not yet clear who was responsible for the intrusion, but at least one observer was impressed. "At last, something has happened here," said Juan Carlos Monterrey-Gómez, a Panamanian climate negotiator.

Also unclear is whether Sr Monterrey-Gómez or any of the other dips and "experts" have read "Three tough truths about climate", by none other than Bill Gates, published on October 28th. The subhead: "What I want everyone at COP30 to know". And here's the lede:

"There’s a doomsday view of climate change that goes like this: In a few decades, cataclysmic climate change will decimate civilization. The evidence is all around us—just look at all the heat waves and storms caused by rising global temperatures. Nothing matters more than limiting the rise in temperature. 

"Fortunately for all of us, this view is wrong. [!!!]  Although climate change will have serious consequences—particularly for people in the poorest countries—it will not lead to humanity’s demise. People will be able to live and thrive in most places on Earth for the foreseeable future. 

"Emissions projections have gone down, and with the right policies and investments, innovation will allow us to drive emissions down much further. Unfortunately, the doomsday outlook is causing much of the climate community to focus too much on near-term emissions goals, and it’s diverting resources from the most effective things we should be doing to improve life in a warming world."

Cazart!!! Did Bill Gates, the man who now only foresaw the future but created it, really say there's no need for climate alarm?  Perhaps he finally got around to reading The Dilbert Future, by Scott Adams (Harperbusiness, 1997)? Here's a slightly edited excerpt from the first chapter.

"Whenever humans notice a bad trend, they try to change it. The prediction of doom causes people to do things differently and avoid the doom. Any doom that can be predicted won't happen.

"Example: The world's population will grow faster than the food supply, and we'll all starve to death. Human response: Scientists realized you can call just about anything a "meat patty".

"Example: Petroleum reserves will be depleted in twenty years. Human response: Scientists discovered oil in their own hair.

"Example: Communism will spread to the rest of the world. Human response: All Communists became ballerinas and defected."

The point is that none of those predictions came true once we started worrying about them. That's the way it always works.

Those who think Scott Adams need not be taken seriously because he's "just a cartoonist" trying to make some money (not subtitle on the cover) should check out this video "'Fact Checking' The Dilbert Future after 25 years", recorded a little over three years ago by Dr Jon Padfield. He looks at 10 of the 65 predictions Scott Adams made in 1997, and finds that of the 10 predictions, 7 had already come true and 3 were on track to come true.

If Greta Thunberg tells me the world is going to burn to a crisp sometime soon, and Scott Adams tells me it's not, I think I'm on solid ground to believe Mr Adams. And I'll have a good laugh as he explains.

Mr Adams' super-popular Dilbert comic strip got cancelled by the lickspittle media in February of 2023 after he made comments on YouTube calling Black Americans [sic] "a hate group" and urging white Americans [no "sic"' to "get the hell away" from them. Mr Adams said he expected that to happen.

Fortunately for people who think, Scott Adams is still on YouTube. If you are retired or unemployed or have very long coffee breaks, you can enjoy Real Coffee with Scott Adams every day. Walt recommends his podcast highly, especially for days when it seems like our society is going down the tubes. No, Mr Adams says, not yet!

VIDEO: "Don't 'upgrade' to Windows 11!"

Ed. here. As reported yesterday, Walt bailede on us a couple of days ago. He said he was going to Canada to take the cure, although for what was never specified. I've figured out, though, that our crafty leader didn't want to be here on October 14th, the day that support for Windows 10 officially ended.

Pretty smart, Walt! Final (?) updates have been installing themselves on our PC for two days now, causing chaos in its BIOS and UEFI and everything else. I don't actually know what "BIOS" and "UEFI" mean. What I do know that in the time it took Win10 to boot this morning, I was able to give myself a complete pedicure and darn a pair of socks which my toenails had made holes in.

But I swear by Phil, the Prince of Insufficient Light, that I will not be stampeded into buying a new computer running Windows 11, nor will I try to work my way through one of the many tutorials now appearing on YouTube about how to upgrade your computer to run Win11, even if Microsoft tells you it's incompatible. 

In fact, I might just find some computer geek who can make my PC run Linux, and to heck with Bill Gates and his infernal software. I (and I speak on behalf of Walt, too) refuse to be a slave to Microsoft any longer!

I admit to having been influenced by this video from Rob Braxman, the Internet Privacy Guy. Mr Braxman warns that we are losing our Internet privacy and Internet security every day. Our data is collected with endless permanent data mining. Windows 10 users, he says, are now facing the End-of-Life of their OS since their particular computers have been classified as computer junk by Microsoft. So you may be teased to thinking that it is time to move to Windows 11. Don't!

What alternative is there? Mr Braxman argues that it's time to dump Windows for good. In this video, he reveals the Microsoft plan for your life and how it will own your computer though you're the one who paid for it. And, he warns, they will do everything in their power to prevent you from modifying it. This is certainly worth thinking about -- if not now, the next time it takes your computer 15 minutes to boot Win10. It's not going to get any better!

VIDEO: For the sake of civilization, Francis must be stopped!

Jorge Bergoglio, the man who calls himself "Pope Francis", must be stopped. That's the message in the latest video from Michael Matt, editor of the Remnant newspaper. Whether or not you’re a Catholic, I urge you to pay attention to Mr Matt's plea. It's not just about rescuing Holy Mother Church from the haqndes of the globalists, but about saving civilization, by which we mean Western/Christian civilization. 

Christian patriots of every denomination have a common enemy -- the cabal of globalist one-worlders. Their worldview is antithetical to the worldview of Christianity, which is why they are the obedient servants, not of Jesus Christ, but of population controllers, climate change fanatics, and globalist operatives such as Klaus Schwab, Bill Gates, and George Soros. 

Theologians are examining the options for how to remove an evil man intenton gaining total control of the Catholic Church. But in the meantime, resistance is key and not just from Catholics. All those who understand the power and influence of the Catholic Church on geopolitics will recognize how perilous the situation is. 

Mr Matt is at the forefront of a rapidly growing movement of Catholic traditionalists, including YVT, who make this appeal for the sake of Christian civilization as a whole. Powerful globalist entities are still hell bent on co-opting the Catholic Church, with Her two billion adherents worldwide, because they know very well that if the Church blesses and approves their diabolical plan to take over the world, there will be little to no opposition to their geopolitical agenda. 

Francis is key to the globalist vision for humanity. So even if we wanted to leave the Church (which we do not!), that would not help the situation, since there would then be even less opposition from within. We must stay on in order to expose and oppose these infiltrators. And with God's help, that’s exactly what we intend to do!

What happens tomorrow? Signs and portents

Watching the Sunday Funnies (political TV programmes), I am a bit surprised (and much encouraged) by the way the lamestream media pundits are backing off their earlier predictions of a Biden landslide. What I heard yesterday was a lot of "too close to call" iffery. 

Very Important Reporters are out of the studios, doing standups in places like Florida, Pennsylvania and (ughh, brrr) Michigan, explaining away the crowds and enthusiasm at the Trump events and lack of same at Mr Biden's gatherings of a few parked cars. 

Did you see the clips on Sunday? 1000s of people turned out in miserable weather (in MI at least) to cheer on Still-President Trump. Sleepy Joe stood at the edge of a carpark pretending to orate, while we heard the sounds of silence. See "1000s attend Trump FL rally, crickets heard at Biden rallies", WWW 14/10/20.

The lefties are nervous, friends, and well they might be. So are the pollsters. Have you ever heard so much talk about margins of errors and the "hidden Trump vote"? Just last week, notorious anti-Trumper Michael Moore told Rising that the polls predicting a Biden win were almost certainly wrong. Click here to see the video, posted on WWW 29/10/20. 

Just a few days prior, Robert Cahaly, chief pollster for the Trafalgar Group -- one of the handful who got it right in 2016 -- told Fox News host Sean Hannity that he sees President Trump being reelected. Mr Cahaly cited the aforementioned "hidden vote" which he said is predominantly missing from polling showing Democratic nominee Joe Biden leading nationally and in most swing states. Let's talk about the all-important swing states. As noted above, Michael Moore already concedes that President Trump could win Michigan again. Florida looks like being close, as usual, but Mr Biden's idea of a big and prolonged lockdown isn't playing well in a state where tourism and having fun is essential to economic survival.

The lamestream media are saying Texas is in play, for the first time in decades, and that's why the Dumbocrats sent noted Indo-Jamaican politician Kamala Harris there to stump for Creepy Joe. I don't believe for a minute that TX will vote for the anti-oil party.

So also Pennsylvania, where Old Joe pulled out his rusty service revolver and shot himself in the foot with a promise to end fracking. That may have played well in Philthydelphia [so well described by Bill Burr in "The Philadelphia Incident". You can look it up. Ed.], but that city is already notorious for providing the Dems with "votes on demand" as the results roll in. "Just tell us how many you need!"

The extent of the damage Mr Biden did to himself and his campaign can be seen in the endorsement by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette of... wait for it... Still-President Trump. See "The man and the record", PP-G 31/10/20. This is the first time since 1972 that this respected newspaper has come out for a Republican. 

To me, the most telling part of the their editorial is this paragraph:

Mr. Biden is too old for the job, and fragile. There is a very real chance he will not make it through the term. Mr. Trump is also too old but seemingly robust. But in Mike Pence, Mr. Trump has a vice president ready to take over, if need be. He is a safe pair of hands. Sen. Kamala Harris gives no evidence of being ready to be president.

In Philadelphia (and other Democrat-run cities), there is tangible evidence of fear of what will happen in the aftermath of a Biden win. Business owners big and small are closing their shops, boarding up the windows, hunkering down for the rioting and looting which (they must think) are inevitable. 

Are they afraid of pissed-off conservatives burning down the town if Mr Trump loses? Don't think so. They're afraid of the BLM and Antifa mobs which Biden-Harris refuse to condemn, and will be unable to control once the police are "defunded" and prosecutors are instructed to ignore the "antics of mostly peaceful protesters". Time for a prediction, then? I'm still hoping President Trump will be re-elected, and am cautiously optimistic, but not willing to put down any serious money on it. So if you're a Biden fan (Hello, Agent 17!) and/or a sufferer from TDS, and want to get your bet down, Las Vegas oddsmaker-turned-conservative talk-show host Wayne Allen Root will be happy to accomodate you.

We can't handle this any longer! The pressure to end the lockdown resulting from the mad (as in "crazy") panic over Covid-19, is mounting, with even such ultra-liberals as Bill Maher lecturing CNN to stop with the fake news over the Biggest Media Hoax Ever.

Is This a PANDEMIC or a DEMPANIC?

We rarely repost anything very lengthy, but since you're likely sitting at home with not much to do (thank you, corona virus!), we take pleasure in submitting, for your edification, "Is This a PANDEMIC or a DEMPANIC?", by Joan Swirsky, which originally appeared on March 21st in The Post & Email. Read it and learn who's really responsible for everyone in the Excited States of America (except The Smartest Guy in the Room) having their hair on fire.

Now that we’re in a de facto Martial Law mode -- a shutdown of entire industries and small businesses, nighttime curfews, social isolation, a run on goods, huge sports events cancelled, a “shelter-in-place” mandate in California, releasing prisoners in New York (God forbid these miscreants get a flu!), Broadway gone dark, and a craven media inciting and delighting in the panic they’re causing, it is relevant to ask:

Are the powers-that-be withholding information about a deadly germ-warfare attack on the entire world, started by an aggrieved Chinese Communist nation that was perfectly happy with the Bush1 and Clinton1&2 and Bush1&2 and Obama1&2 regimes that kowtowed to their outrageous demands and unfair trade deals but is now existentially threatened because a Patriot President expects more equitable deals?

Isn't it both alarmist and immoral, as reported in American Thinker by Andrea Widburg, that the fake-news media have never told the American people that the scary statistics from Italy are the result of Italy's recent Silk Road Project agreement with China, which resulted in more than 300,000 Chinese workers entering Italy?

Is it just one of those strange coincidences that one of the four richest men in the world, the uber-leftist and population-control fetishist Bill Gates -- just weeks after the corona virus hit in January -- stepped down from the Microsoft giant he founded in 1975, and just weeks earlier, in December, sponsored a "fictional" simulation of such a corona virus catastrophic event which spread wildly and caused 65 million deaths worldwide? Just asking.

What are the powers-that-be not telling us? The worldwide population is nearing eight billion. America has between 330-370 million people (the last 40 mil being illegals). Every day in America, 130 Americans die from an opioid overdose, 102 people from car accidents, and 2500 from heart attacks. And yet, so far in America, 19,000 people have contracted the corona virus and 256 have died from it. Got that? Over 330-million people; 256 deaths. The swine flu of 10 years ago caused 60.8 million illnesses, and 12,469 deaths.

Or is this yet another hysterical, sky-is-falling anxiety attack by the hand-wringing left designed to convince the American public that either Communist Bernie Sanders or a clinically cognitively-diminished Joe Biden -- both inveterate tax-and-spend liberals -- would be just the man to help America recover from this traumatic event and revive the stock market they both revile?

Of course, neither one of these Big Government hacks would be capable of such a feat. Thank God for the cool, calm, collected and seasoned business mogul, President Donald J. Trump, who is guiding us through the corona virus scare with decisive action and great success -- with no less than 56 bold initiatives -- and who not only brought us the greatest economy and employment record in the 243-year history of our country, but will revive it when this virus scare passes into history -- shortly, I predict!

WHERE ARE WE NOW?
A crazed, out-of-ammunition Democrat Party,
A doddering presumptive Democrat presidential candidate,
A deranged leftist media, furious at their low and devolving ratings,
Socialist/Communist/Islamicized Europeans,
Huge investors in the Globalist economy,
Angry Chinese leadership,
Failed Trump saboteurs Michael Avenatti (now in jail), Michael Cohen (now in prison), Anthony Scaramucci (now in nowheresville),
The Russian-collusion hoaxers of Obama’s FBI, CIA, State, Homeland Security, et al.
The exposed liars in the Ukraine phone-call hoax,
The losers of the crashing failure known as the impeachment hoax,
The cringe-producing sore-loser Hillary Clinton, who "lost|" $6-billion dollars when she was Secretary of State, and presided over the tragic loss of American lives in the Benghazi catastrophe––and then lied about it!
These are just a few of the forces who have been working overtime for the past four years to sabotage, undermine, and ultimately destroy both candidate and then President Trump, the man who single-handedly exposed:

The Left’s seditious and I believe traitorous anti-American agenda and behavior,
The criminality they’ve engaged in for decades with absolute impunity,
The gouging of the United States’ economy for their own ideological and personal benefit, extorting billions that was laundered and stuffed into their own pockets,
Their devoted allegiance to colossal hoaxes like Global Warming,
Their abject neglect of blacks in education and where ignorance leads––ta da––prison,
Their seething contempt if not downright hatred of the United States of America.

And yet, with all their impressive advanced college degrees, fancy credentials, exalted titles, tenure-for-life government jobs, social-media collaboration with leftist Google, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, et al, and the flagrant abuse-of-power they’ve gotten away with -- but not for long! -- such as illegal FISA warrants, lying witnesses, shadow-banning, rigging elections, the list goes on…they still could not bring down THE. SMARTEST. GUY.IN.THE.ROOM.

TEARING THEIR HAIR OUT
Now, almost eight months from a presidential election, all of these forces are desperate, anguished, just-about suicidal with frustration. What can we do, they are asking themselves, to stop President Trump from winning a second term and then crushing for all time the remaining malignant remnants of the leftist agenda?

While none of them are smart enough to have created the corona virus threat, they secretly celebrated the fact that this crisis would prevent the president from conducting his two or three rallies a week around the country, where upwards of 50,000-75,000 people line up for days on end to applaud and support their president.

Well, they got their wish. Now he is on TV every single day, showing the entire country (and world) what genuinely strong and effective leadership is all about -- which is why his approval ratings are skyrocketing!

Undaunted, the frantic left is spending untold billions, not to help the deserving people affected adversely by the corona virus, but, as Daniel Greenfield documents exhaustively, “to smear President Trump and undermine the administration. How patriotic of them.”

Greenfield cites the SuperPac which leftist billionaires  -- Hollywood producer Jeffrey Katzenberg, financier George Soros, the list is long––are using to attack President Trump over the corona virus. Many if not all of them are more successful and savvy than most people in the world––but I repeat, none of them a match for THE. SMARTEST. GUY.IN.THE.ROOM!

WHERE ELSE THE OPPOSITION COMES FROM
Three years ago, I wrote an article called “The Hate-America Death Squads” in which I described the forces we are witnessing today, all of whom exult when America has trouble.

DEATH SQUAD #1 is the Cloward-Piven Strategy, begun in 1966 and flourishing to this day. In short, the founders of this plan, from Columbia Univ., loathed America and insisted that capitalism could be collapsed by overloading the government with financial demands that could not be met. They also formed voter-fraud schemes like Project Vote, ACORN, etc, still extant only with different names. And (surprise, surprise) ACORN’s lawyer was none other than Barack Obama. Birds of a feather, and all that.

DEATH SQUAD #2 Saul Alinsky, a community organizer from Chicago, wrote the bible for hate-America leftists: Rules for Radicals. Hillary Clinton wrote her Wellesley thesis about Alinsky and remained close friends with him years after she graduated, and Barack Obama became a community organizer in the Alinsky mode. Both of them shared Alinsky’s real goal -- to destroy capitalist America and turn it into the socialist-cum-communist regime they preferred.

DEATH SQUAD #3 is and was the leftwing media -- or what Dr. Drew Pinsky calls “the corrupt, uninformed, morally reprehensible American press -- notorious for skewing the “news” in a Marxist direction. THE GOOD NEWS
Medications to treat the corona virus are now being discussed, as Scott Johnson from Powerline reports; among them is the anti-malaria drug, chloroquine. The Israeli pharmaceutical company Teva is donating six-million doses of the medication to U.S. hospitals starting March 31st, and by the end of April 10 million will be shipped.

President Trump has asked the Food and Drug Administration if it can expand the use of the drug as an experimental treatment for coronavirus patients. A related article in Gateway Pundit reported that a chloroquine study showed a 100% cure rate for patients infected with the corona virus.

And just as I’m writing this article, an explosive article is broadcast reporting that three international studies from China, Australia and France show that chloroquine with the antibiotic azithromycin shows 100% success in treating corona virus in six days!

The ridiculous ban on plastic grocery bags is being temporarily lifted because, as John Tierney reports, the reusable tote bags "that politicians and environmentalists have been so eager to impose on the public…can sustain the COVID-19 and flu viruses…[a fact] that was clearly demonstrated in a 2018 study published in the Journal of Environmental Health."

Nobel laureate Michael Levitt, an American-British-Israeli biophysicist who teaches structural biology at Stanford University…offered the public reassurance during the peak of China’s coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. "Levitt did not discover a treatment or a cure…he crunched the numbers" and predicted that the spread of the virus would come to a halt." His forecasts turned out to be correct: the number of new cases reported each day started to fall as of February 7th. A week later, the mortality rate started falling as well."

All this is devastating to Democrats, but there is a solution. Simply plaster this poster in every newspaper and all over the Internet and watch how quickly the corona virus scare vanishes into thin air!

Dambisa Moyo advocates end to foreign aid, makes Bill Gates angry

On Tuesday Walt reviewed Dead Aid, by Dr. Dambisa Moyo, an African economist. As noted, her book is a well-written, compelling argument for an end to foreign aid, which she says is a waste of money and actually works against the goals of development and poverty reduction. Here's a four-paragraph summary, taken from the final chapter.

What if, one by one, African countries each received a phone call...telling them that in exactly five years the aid taps would be shut off -- permanently?

What do you think Africans would do if aid were stopped, simply carry on as usual? Too many African countries have already hit rock bottom -- ungoverned, poverty-stricken, and lagging further and further behind the rest of the world each day; there is nowhere further down to go.

Isn't it more likely that in a world freed of aid, economic life for the majority of Africans might actualy improve, that corruption would fall, entrepreneurs would rise, and Africa's growth engine would start chugging? This is the most probably outcome -- that whewre the real chance exists to make a better life for themselves, their children and Africa's future generations, Africans would grab it and go.

Aid came from the West (and continues to do so), and it's up to the West to take it back. Why have people in the West not demanded that something be done? It is, after all, their money being poured down the drain.

Predictably, writing such politically incorrect heresy brought Dr. Moyo a lot of flak from "progressive thinkers" and aid advocates such as Jeffrey Sachs and Bill Gates. [Not to mention Al Gore and Jimmy Carter? Ed.] It will be noted that all of those named are rich American white guys -- the sort of Western liberals whose feelings of guilt are assuaged by persuading governments to throw their money -- and ours! -- down the toilets of the Third World.

Warning to Windows XP users

Walt is not an early adopter. If I get used to something, it takes me a long time to let go of it and try something new. Thus I am still using Windows XP. It does all I need, I know how to use it reasonably well, and I see no reason to change.

That is not to say that Windows XP is not without its bugs, flaws and faults. Every couple of weeks, it seems, Bill Gates sends me a new patch or service pack which I dutifully install. But just as fast as MS trots out the fixes, hackers and other Bad People seem to find or invent new problems.

From time to time, Yahoo News runs articles by a computer geek named Christopher Null. (I wonder if his partner is Cosmo Void.) The blog is called "The Working Guy". Today Mr. 0 gives us fair warning of a newly-discovered problem with XP.

If you're running Windows XP, be sure to read "Don't press F1". Here's a quote: "Microsoft is warning of a brand new exploit that can cause computers running Windows XP and using the Internet Explorer web browser to become infected with malware at the push of a button: Specifically, the F1 button."

Every so often someone sends me an e-mail warning of some terrible virus. I usually turns out to be a hoax or a myth, and I would pass on any such without checking it out through snopes.com or some other reputable source. But this looks like the genuine article (forgive the pun) so keep your finger off F1 until Bill sends the fix.
