Coming to Canada illegally pays off for asylum-seekers, bogus refugees
WARNING to Canadian readers: This report contains statistics which will infuriate you.
Let's start with these. When the Liberal Prime Minister Blackie McBlackface first took office in 2015, the number of asylum claimants in the country then known as Canada was just 16,058. As of the most recent figures available from Statistics Canada, there are a total of 497,443 "asylum claimants and protected persons". Thats includes a record high 287,786 asylum claimants waiting to have their case heard by the Immigrant and Refugee Board of Canada.
What do you, dear suffering Canuck, think will happen to them? What percentage of them do you think will be allowed to remain in the country now known and derided as "Canuckistan"? 50%? 75%? 85%? How about 100%?!
On Tuesday, the Liberal government headed by Blackie's successor, Marx Carnage, dropped a new budget, outlining the Natural Ruling Party's plans to carry on Junior's wokest works. Buried in the 406+ pages of mouse-sized type was the latest iteration of the Liberal promise to bring immigration "under control.
The budget document admits that Canada’s immigration system [Is dis a system? Mr. Natural] is "dysfunctional and inefficient... [After Covid] the pace of arrivals began to exceed Canada’s capacity to absorb and support newcomers in the way we are used to doing. Canada’s new [LOL. Walt] government recognizes that this system is no longer sustainable, and we are determined to make it so."
But, I hear you ask, how are they going to do that? The answer is a one-time mass amnesty to some of the hundreds of thousands of asylum-seekers who have entered Canada in recent years, by illegally crossing the US border at places like Roxham Road, near St-Bernard-de-Lacolle QC, where a Mountie can be seen in this photo helping a border-jumper with her luggage.
The alien in the photo is just one of 114,373 illegal border-crossesrs who have entered Canada since 2017. A disproportionate number came through the Roxham Road crossing from New York into Québec, an illicit border crossing closed only in 2023
Starting next year, the Liberals will spend over C$120 million ($85 million in real money) on a program to fast-track "eligible protected persons" -- anyone who promises to vote Liberal in future elections -- into permanent residency.
The number of "protected persons" to be admitted without being properly vetted, and in spite of having gamed the system, is for some reason not specified in the budget. It should be noted, though, that Canada currently has more people within the refugee system than at any other time in its history.
In the entirety of 2015, the Canada Border Services Agency processed 7110 asylum claims. Last year, this figure was 58,050 — a more than 800% cent increase! But the 2025 budget boasts that "asylum claims are down by a third" from the heights they reached during the Trudeau era.
Of late, Canada’s population of asylum claimants has also added tens of thousands of "temporary migrants" who entered Canada as students (many at schools like the notorious Singh School of Truck Driving) and claimed asylum as the terms of their visas came to an end.
Last year, for instance, international students were responsible for a record 20,245 asylum claims. If past acceptance figures are any guide, most asylum claimants will ultimately be accepted as "protected persons".
In 2024, for instance, the Immigration and Refugee Board reviewed 73,456 cases and only rejected 11,761. (46,480 were accepted, the other claims were abandoned or withdrawn). The year before, the board reviewed 51,848 and only rejected 9601; 37,222 claims were accepted.
So there you have it, dear put-upon Canadians. Your country's back door is still wide open. No matter where in the Great No-longer-white North you live, it won't be long before you hear the six most feared words in the English language: "Hello dere! I'se yo new neighbuh!"

Your Singhs today - The secret to remaining in Canada
We couldn't let the week end without a story about Sikhs who have entered Canuckistan by questionable means, and stayed on, in spite of questionable behaviour, whether their hosts country like it or not.
Today we present the heart-warming story of Jagjit Singh, who has been allowed by the Federal Court of Canada to remain in the country "on compassionate grounds", just moments before minions of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) were set to begin the physical deportation process.
Mr Singh, whose current location is a state secret, arrived in Canada in 2021 on a temporary resident visa and immediately filed a refugee claim. [SFX，music: "As Time Goes By".] In January 2025, he married "L.B.", a Canadian citizen, and withdrew his refugee claim shortly after she submitted an inland spousal sponsorship application on his behalf.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) -- the government department whose mission is to welcome half a million foreigners to Canada in the coming year -- confirmed in May that L.B. met the eligibility criteria to sponsor Mr Singh, but no decision on his application for permanent residence application has yet been made.
In early August, Mr Singh asked the CBSA to defer his removal until at least a preliminary decision was made on his sponsorship application. [SFX: "As Time Goes By" swells in background.] The CBSA refused, citing insufficient evidence that his removal would cause serious harm.
Federal Court Justice Avvy Yao-Yao Go disagreed, finding that the immigration officer misinterpreted their discretion and failed to properly assess evidence that Singh's removal would significantly harm his wife, who suffers from... wait for it... ADHD and relies on him for daily structure, medication reminders, and financial support.
The judge did not discose L.B.'s name, let alone her race or religion -- issues of privacy, you know -- but noted that L.B. has no other reliable family support and that Mr Singh also contributes financially to his sister's household, where the couple lives.
Justice Go acknowledged the public interest in enforcing removal orders -- murmurs from the well of the court: "Yah, sure. Hahahahaha." -- but said she found that any delay in processing Mr Singh's permanent residence application lay with IRCC, not the innocent Sikh! "Taking into consideration the irreparable harm to the Applicant’s spouse," she ruled, "granting the stay until the underlying application is determined would be just and equitable."
So Mr Singh remains in Canada, his deportation now on hold until the court decides whether to grant judicial review of CBSA’s decision to deny his deferral request. [SFX: "As Time Goes By", up and out.]
Justice Go, who was appointed to the Federal Court of Canada by Prime Minister Blackie McBlackface, has no legal training. However, she was for years a human rights advocate championing better treatment of migrant workers, refugees, asylum-seekers, etc and so forth.
Walt is unable to find any record of her having denied any application by any such person to remain in the Great No-longer-white North. So the secret to being allowed to remain in Canada is obviously: when you're judge-shopping, shop wisely!

Canada finds 400 "asylum-seekers" ineligible... out of over 12,000
Believe It Or Not Dept: The Toronto [Red] Star, not owned but still controlled by Canada's Liberal government, reported this week that "New asylum laws to restrict flow of migrants from US yield few results". Believe it or not!
In June of 2019, with a federal election looming and anti-immigrant (and especially anti-"refugee") backlash mounting, the alleged government of Just In Trudeau put into effect measures (buried in April's "omnibus budget") which were supposed to prevent refugees from seeking protection in Canada if they have made similar claims in other countries. That was supposed to discourage Nigerians, Haitians and other bogus refugees from jumping across the World's Longest Undefended Border (TM) at such notorious crossing points as Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle QC.
The Honourable Bill Blair, "Minister of Border Security" and former chief of the Toronto Police "Service" told the meeja, when the changes were introduced, "We've been working very hard over the past several months to significantly reduce the number of people who are crossing our borders irregularly." That was, of course, a steaming load of horseshit, since the Liberals depend on 1000s of "instant Canadians" to vote for them in places like Toronto, Montréal and Vancouver.
The government's own figures, revealed now in the Star's exclusive, put the lie to Mr Blair's statement. Since Still-President Donald Trump took office in January 2017, more than 50,000 "irregular migrants" (government-speak for "illegal border jumpers") crossed the land border at places like Lacolle and Emerson MB, claiming asylum in Canada. As of September 2019, there were still 29,000 claims to be heard and determined.
Statistics from the Ministry of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship [sic] show that some 12,000 asylum claims were made from January to September of this year alone. The number of claimants deemed ineligible since 21 June 2019, when the "new" rules took effect, is... wait for it... 400. That's right -- four hundred out of 12,000.
The Star says the Ministry for Refugees did not track asylum-seekers who had made claims in other countries, so the new policy did not set a target. However, 400 is a much lower number than that anticipated by "migrant rights" groups who were critical of the policy change. "We were surprised to see the low number," said Janet Dench (no relation to Judy), of the Canadian Council for Refugees. "It is not clear how [the policy] helps by denying refugees access to the Immigration and Refugee Board. From our perspective, this is for the government to send the message that you are not welcomed here and we don't want you here."
Well yes, that's the message the Canadian people want to see given out, and that's what the Liberals are pretending to be saying. But, as with almost everything M Trudeau and company say, the truth is something quite different.

New poll: record numbers of Canucks against more immigration
The official party line of Canada's Liberal government, dutifully parroted by the state-owned Canadian Broadcorping Castration, is that the majority of tolerant and progressive Canadians support immigration, and all the benefits that admitting hordes of Third-Worlders will bring to a grateful country. Just a few days ago, the Ministry of Immigration and Refugees [sic] released the results of a poll, taken in March, that said that although Canucks have some reservations about the asylum-seekers crossing the US-Canada border "irregularly", they still welcome the world's poor huddled masses.
Walt and others called BS on that one. The truth is that, outside of the chattering classes of downtown Toronto and Parliament Hill, most Canadians have been dubious for decades about the merits of higher levels of immigration, now closing on 300,000 per year not counting the illegals. Today's National Post reveals the truth about popular sentiment, according to a poll taken in late July by the respected Angus Reid organization. Walt trusts that Angus Reid and Postmedia won't mind our reposting part of the article by Brian Platt and the main graphic, which shows clearly the growth of opposition to immigration over the past few years. [Memo to Postmedia: Walt doesn't make any money from this blog! It's a public service. Thank you! Ed.]
The report from the Angus Reid Institute analyzes polling data going back to 1975. It shows that throughout that period a relatively constant number of Canadians — around one in four — have always said they think immigration levels should be decreased, while support for keeping levels the same has tended to be slightly higher. Only about 10% of Canadians have supported increasing the levels during that time. But the latest poll shows a spike in opposition to immigration, which the organization says coincides with "more frequent and increasingly fraught conversations about policy regarding immigration and migration to Canada."
This year's survey shows 49% of respondents think immigration levels should be decreased, compared to 36% in 2014. 31% think levels should stay the same, compared to 48% in 2014. Only 6% think levels should be increased, compared to 9% in 2014. This brilliant bit of satire, scraped from Blazing Cat Fur, explains why so many Canucks feel that way.
Walt wonders if King Trudeau II is pleased with his handiwork. Turns out his constant virtue-signalling and shaming Canadians who disagree with him (see "What happens when Canadians exercise their right to speak freely about illegal border jumpers and diversity", WWW 20/8/18) has had the effect of poking the bear. We'll see the results in 14 months... or sooner, if Mr Socks decides to call a snap election before things get worse.
But chances of a snap election are, IMHO, slim and none. (Lifetime pct .991.) Junior doesn't read the polls, or the comments section on those CBC articles where commenting is allowed (as long as M-103 is respected).
Just yesterday, Saddam Hussesn, the Somali-born Minister for Refugees &c, announced that the Gliberals are dropping the controversial lottery system for reuniting immigrant families and moving to a first-come, first-served online system. Under the family reunification programme, they will admit 20,500 parents and grandparents -- many of them illiterate and suffering from chronic illnesses -- in 2019, and 21,000 in 2020. Those numbers are more than double the figure for the first year of JT's government, 2016, in which 10,000 applications were approved. Talk about listening to public opinion! The Liberals are stone deaf... and in 14 months will be stone dead! (Lifetime pct still .991.)

Canuck Liberals stew in Trudeau's pro-refugee juice, beg USA to amend Safe Third Country Agreement
This is almost too good to be true, but it is true! You may remember -- Canadians certainly do -- Prime Minister Just In Trudeau's tweet, following the inauguration of President Trump, inviting any and all "refugees", asylum-seekers and undesirable turned away by the US of A to head for the Great No-longer-white North, where the welcome mat would be out for them, along with food, houses, cars etc, courtesy of generous Canadian taxpayers. Here's what Mr Socks said.
Imagine the Boy Wonder's surprise when 10s of 1000s of bogus refugee claimants and other third world scum took him at his word! As reported in "Canuck Conservatives demand Liberals stop border jumpers", WWW 24/4/18, and confirmed yesterday by CTV News, some 26,000 immigrant wannabes have crossed the undefended border "irregularly" (that's Govspeak for "illegally") in the past year, including 5000 in April alone.
This weekend, Stéphane Handfield, a prominent lawyer and member of the refugee industry from Québec, yesterday joined his province's Liberal government in calling on the federal Liberals to do something! He penned an open letter calling for the Safe Third Country Agreement to be put on hold for three months while officials figure out next steps. The STCA is a pact between Canada and the USA which governs where people can make asylum claims on either side of the border.
As Walt told you in "Trudeau's plan to reform Canadian immigration system", WWW 23/4/18, turning away 1000s of potential Liberal voters is not an option for the Trudeau government, which faces a potential revolt even in its own ranks. Even yesterday, Canada's Minister for Refugees and Immigration [really!], Ahmed Hussen [really!], himself a refugee from Somalia [really!], insisted that there are as yet no "formal negotiations" to amend the STCA.
Even as he spoke to the Canuck meeja, a spokesthingy for the US Department of Homeland Security said in an e-mail, "DHS is currently reviewing the proposal made by Canada to amend the Safe Third Country Agreement, but we have no decision to announce at this time."
The statement went on to say that border patrol agencies on both sides of the border collaborate on security efforts and that elements of the US government -- including Department of Homeland Security and the State Department -- are working closely with the government of Canada "to understand the evolving flow of northbound asylum seekers, including through joint CBP-CBSA analysis and collaboration by ICE and the State Department at U.S. embassies and consulates overseas."
Neither the American nor Canadian governments aqre taking seriously what appears to me to be a sensible proposal from the Conservative opposition. As it stands, the STCA requires asylum-seekers to make their claim in the first safe country they arrive in, unless they qualify for an exception spelled out in the agreement. It applies only to claimants trying to enter at official land border crossings, by train or at airports, which is why some are making the trek into Canada outside official crossing points.
Solution: Designate the entire border as an official crossing, so that border-jumpers caught sneaking through the brush can be arrested and immediately dumped back on the side from whence they came. That would benefit not just Canada but the Paranoid States of America too. Sadly, simple sensible solutions are not the kind which bureaucrats embrace easily or with joy. Expect the dithering to continue... along with the the flow of undesirable illegal aliens.

Trudeau's plan to reform Canadian immigration system
As reported on WWW several times last year, hordes of non-white "refugees" and asylum-seekers have been pouring into Canada from the USA through an "unautorized entry point" not from a proper border crossing near St-Bernard-de-Lacolle, QC. They are being greeted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, whose function is to tell them that what they're doing is illegal, and if they cross the line in the sand [snow, shurely! Ed.] they will be detained and taken to Montréal, where they will be given food, clothing and accommodation for an indefinite period.
Last fall, the Minister of Refugees and Immigration -- a Somali refugee himself -- assured Canadians that once the cold winter weather set in, the numbers, which had been running at 150 per day in the summer, would fall. Not so. Earlier this month some 400 "refugees" from Haiti, Nigeria and other shithole countries crossed from the land of the free (etc) into Canuckistan, and were bused to Montréal to receive their Welcome Wagon hampers and welfare cheques.
Trouble is, Montréal and the province of Québec don't want them. Last Wednesday, Québec Premier Philippe Couillard called for help from the government of Canuck Prime Minister Just In Trudeau. According to the Toronto Red Star, M Couillard said Ottawa's response to his request for assistance on the refugee crisis reflects "a complete ignorance" of what's going on at the Lacolle border crossing.
"10/4!", said M Trudeau's minions, promising that the federal government will begin sending asylum-seekers directly to... wait for it... Ontario, if that is their preferred destination. Like Canada, Ontario is presently ruled by a Liberal government, that of proudly lesbian premier Kathleen Wynne, who is facing an election on June 7th, so is even more keen than Mr Socks to import some new Liberal voters.
A spokesthingy for Ontario Immigration Minister Laura Albanese said the province is working with Ottawa and Québec, but that it was too early to comment on details of how and where asylum-seekers might be transferred to Ontario. It's not clear yet whether the "refugees" will be flown, bused or sent on one of Canada's famous bullet trains, but those who indicate that they want to go to Toronto will soon be hustled out of Québec.
The City of Toronto (John Tory, prop.) is making plans to convert underused armories, schools, and hospitals into "refugee welcome centres". The city's normally pristine streets are being filled with dirt and debris, and loudspeakers installed to play recordings of gunfire and roosters crowing, so the newcomers can feel right at home.
Last fall, the Minister of Refugees and Immigration -- a Somali refugee himself -- assured Canadians that once the cold winter weather set in, the numbers, which had been running at 150 per day in the summer, would fall. Not so. Earlier this month some 400 "refugees" from Haiti, Nigeria and other shithole countries crossed from the land of the free (etc) into Canuckistan, and were bused to Montréal to receive their Welcome Wagon hampers and welfare cheques.
Trouble is, Montréal and the province of Québec don't want them. Last Wednesday, Québec Premier Philippe Couillard called for help from the government of Canuck Prime Minister Just In Trudeau. According to the Toronto Red Star, M Couillard said Ottawa's response to his request for assistance on the refugee crisis reflects "a complete ignorance" of what's going on at the Lacolle border crossing.
"10/4!", said M Trudeau's minions, promising that the federal government will begin sending asylum-seekers directly to... wait for it... Ontario, if that is their preferred destination. Like Canada, Ontario is presently ruled by a Liberal government, that of proudly lesbian premier Kathleen Wynne, who is facing an election on June 7th, so is even more keen than Mr Socks to import some new Liberal voters.
A spokesthingy for Ontario Immigration Minister Laura Albanese said the province is working with Ottawa and Québec, but that it was too early to comment on details of how and where asylum-seekers might be transferred to Ontario. It's not clear yet whether the "refugees" will be flown, bused or sent on one of Canada's famous bullet trains, but those who indicate that they want to go to Toronto will soon be hustled out of Québec.
The City of Toronto (John Tory, prop.) is making plans to convert underused armories, schools, and hospitals into "refugee welcome centres". The city's normally pristine streets are being filled with dirt and debris, and loudspeakers installed to play recordings of gunfire and roosters crowing, so the newcomers can feel right at home.

VIDEO: Don't even think about moving to Canada
One of the more bizarre sidebars in last night's TV coverage of the Trump Triumph was a report that the Canadian government immigration website had crashed under the weight of American libtards trying to get a "Get out of the USA free" card, aka a Canadian immigration visa. Agent 3 has considerable experience in this field and has some advice for Yanks yearning to come to the better half of North America: forget about it!
There is actually a border between the USA and Canada. [No wall though... yet! Ed.] You need a passport to enter Canada as a visitor. Well, not to enter Canada, actually, but to get back into the Excited States. And if it looks like your country won't let you back in, the Canadians won't admit you. If you are honest enough to tell them you want to stay, they make you apply to immigrate, just like everyone else [except Muslim refugees. Ed.] And it ain't easy.
Canada uses a complex points system to determine whether a person is allowed to immigrate. There are exemptions for anyone who can holler "refugee" and speak enough English or French to ask the way to the welfare office. There are exemptions for those who already have family in Canada. That does not include fiancé(e)s or mail-order brides/grooms. There are exemptions for temporary workers in occupations which Canadians shun, like picking fruit and packing fish. If you can't wiggle through any of those loopholes, you have to be educated, speak one or both of Canada's official languages, and have marketable skills or (better) a certified job offer.
Even if you think you can pile up enough points -- there's a self-evaluation on the Canadian immigration website, if it's working -- the unpleasant truth is that the majority of Canadians are not too keen on the idea of making it easier for US citizens to move to their country. A poll conducted last weekend by Mainstreet Research asked 5066 Canadians if they would be willing to make it easier for Americans to relocate to Canada if Trump won the election. Only 11% said they were in favour, compared with 72% who would prefer that you stay home. 17% apologized for being undecided.
So that's the bad news. The good news is that the sun rose in the east this morning, as usual. The world is not coming to an end. America will not just survive, but thrive under the new administration. You'll be OK.

Only a minority of Canadians "positive on immigration"
"Racial nationalism"... See "The real reasons millions of Americans are voting for Donald Trump". The last point in Walt's post was that it's not just race, but economics that drives the opposition to immigration which prompts millions of Americans to support The Donald. If the migrants from Mexico or wherever were rich, and would make a financial contribution (in the form of taxes) to the country, they'd be more welcome than those whose first words on crossing the border are "Which way to the welfare office?"
It's not just Americans who feel this way. On May 1st we posted a video report from the Calgary Sun on attitudes to immigration and immigrants in Canada and other countries. The gist of it was that only a minority of Canadians were in favour of bringing more immigrants into the Great Not-so-white North. An alert reader pointed out to us yesterday (May 5th) that the video first appeared in the summer of 2011! Since attitudes have presumably changed since then -- the Liberal Canuck government keeps saying that its subjects are delighted to "welcome" 25,000 (and counting) Syrian "refugees" -- we've deleted the video. We'll give you current figures when they're published on the CBC or when hell freezes over, whichever first occurs.

Canuck government backpedals on admitting Syrian refugees
During last fall's federal election campaign, Canada's Liberal Party -- pandering to Muslims, immigrants and Volvo liberals all in one go -- promised to bring 25,000 refugees from war-torn Syria to Canada by the end of the year. Canuck voters, moved by a picture of a little boy drowned on a beach, poured their compassion straight into the ballot box, making Justin Trudeau their new Prime Minister and John McCallum the new "Minister of Immigration and Refugees" (sic).
Hallowe'en and Christmas came and went. By New Year's Day the number of refugees admitted fell well short of the target. But don't worry, said the Hon. Mr. McCallum, we'll get 25,000 here by the end of February, even if we have to frogmarch them onto the planes. No matter that some contrarians called "Canada's welcome of 1000s of Muslim refugees 'reckless, politically correct thinking'", or that some of those living comfortably in hotels (on the taxpayers' dime) were already clamouring to go home.
As the Canadian winter wore on, it became clear that many Canadians (and wannabe Canadians pushed to the back of the queue by the Syrians) weren't happy with the favoured refugee status being accorded to 1000s of Muslims -- doubtless including at least a few Islamic extremists -- who cannot and will not be assimilated into Canadian society. A fierce anti-Muslim, anti-refugee backlash quickly became evident in the comments appended to pro-refugee propaganda planted by the Liberals every damned day in the lamestream media. But never mind. Now that the election's over, Messrs Trudeau and McCallum don't need to read the comments or pay attention to the polls. Indeed, Mr. McCallum (pictured before and after his Minoxidil treatments) was pleased to announce that the target had been met and 25,000 refugees -- oops, "New Canadians" -- had indeed been "welcomed" to the Great Not-so-white North, and were being fast-tracked to citizenship.
But wait, he said... there will be more! Why stop at 25,000?! Canada could easily take another 10,000 by the end of 10/6. Maybe even another 25,000! Wouldn't that be great?! That would win Canada a seat on the UN Security Council for sure!
And then came silence. Some idealistic Canucks are still read, even eager to take in more Muslims. Hundreds of Canadians who’ve come together to sponsor Syrian refugees are being told it could be next year before their new charges arrive, after a series of changes to the Liberals’ resettlement program. In Toronto, upwards of 600 private groups have spent months raising money, finding apartments and gathering supplies. But now some are being told it will be more than eight months before the families they are sponsoring arrive, while others hear that if they’ve not yet been matched with a family it’s unlikely they’ll see anyone before 2017.
Why so? Well, it seems the Gliberals have quietly put a cap on applications this year, and have cut back on staff handling the paperwork. Moreover, they're bring back -- very quietly, again -- the travel loan programme under which refugees have to repay the government for the airfare, rather than flying for free in RCAF planes. These changes essentially reverse much of what the previous Conservative government and then the Liberals did to respond to a surge in demand last fall for Canada to bring in more Syrians.
Questions were asked in the House of Commons this week, but M Trudeau wouldn’t directly address the cuts. "We continue to be engaged with the issue of Syrian refugees, making it a priority to continue to show that Canada is a strong and welcoming country," was his platitude for the week.
Meanwhile, John McCallum -- now referred to as the Immigration Minister (only) -- said he is "aware" that enthusiasm to support Syrians won’t last forever. Well, duh! But in spite of his statement that "We want to create the conditions where Canadians are able and as quickly as possible to sponsor those refugees," the flood of real or alleged refugees has been reduced to a trickle. Between February 27th and March 8th, 600 new government-assisted refugees and 433 privately sponsored arrived. In the 12 days after, only nine (9) government-assisted refugees and 16 privately sponsored arrived. Only one person who is part of a program that blends the two streams arrived in that time.
Walt advises Canadians to hold their applause until, say, November, when there may well be a surge in the number of refugee applications from, errr, the US of A!

Muslim refugees being "welcomed" into Canada in dark of night
The story so far... During the Canadian election campaign of this fall, Justin Trudeau ("the Hair Apparent"), in a classic example of pandering to the ethnic vote, pledged, if elected, to bring 25,000 Syrian "refugees" to Canada by the end of the year. That would be on the Canuck taxpayers' dime (value US$0.07) of course. Himself Jr. was probably as surprised as anyone when he did get elected, and was immediately called on to make good on his promise.
Much humming and hawing ensued, with the chief hummer being old Liberal Party hack John McCallum, awakened from his slumber on the opposition benches and dubbed Minister of Immigration and Refugees (sic). As October turned into November turned into December, the Hon. Mr. McCallum backed away as best he could from the original date and numbers. Now it's supposed to be only 10,000 refugees by December 31st, with a goodly percentage of those being privately sponsored, with government (Canuck taxpayers) picking up only part of the massive cost.
More embarrassment for the Gliberals as it turned out that a lot of "refugees" to whom Canada's gilt-edged invitation was extended preferred to languish in refugee camps in Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey. But some refugees decided they could live with the ice and snow -- they haven't experienced it yet -- and probably couldn't get more money out of the German or Swedish governments, so now have Canadian visas stuck in their passports, and tickets clutched in their hands. The first wavelet -- not enough to call a "wave" -- are due to arrive tomorrow, or the next day, or certainly by the weekend.
Can you imagine the scenes at Pierre Eliot Trudeau Airport (named for Himself Sr.) in Montreal, and Lester B. Pearson Airport in Toronto as the huddled masses, yearning to breathe free, are welcomed by their Canadian sponsor, friends and relatives? Errr, maybe not, because the refugees are going to smuggled in kinda secretly.
When they arrive at YYZ (= Toronto Airport; don't know about YUL) they will not deplane at either of the regular terminals, but at a temporary facility in the infield between the runways. It was built back in the 90s when a new Terminal 1 was being constructed, and is still there. The last time it was used was for security purposes when the Prime Minister of India visited.
No members of the public will be admitted to that distant terminal, not even sponsors, friends and relatives. The only greeters who will meet the incoming Muslims -- for that's what most of them are -- will be officials from the Ministry of Immigration [Don't forget "and Refugees". Ed.] who will "process" them for a few hours.
And after that, will they be taken to one of the regular terminals to be welcomed? Errr, no. They will be bussed [or "bused"? One of them means kissed, the other means being transported by bus. Ed.] to a secret location -- seriously -- to which sponsor etc will also be taken for the final meet and greet.
Why all the secrecy? Why all the security? Could it be because the Canuck government's claim that the majority of Canadians, unlike the majority of Trump supporters, are happy to welcome all these Muslims into the Great No-longer-white North is untrue? Errr, could be!

Pakistani immigrant withdraws sponsorship of pregnant wife, tries to send her home without their son
From north of the 49th Parallel, our resident legal beagle sends along a case report -- H.S. v R.S., 2015 BCSC 1856 -- interesting for being an unusual example of the application of common sense to the ultra-liberal Canadian immigration "system". (Agent 3 asks, "Is dis a system?")
Mrs. R.S. and the Claimant, Dr. H.S., are both from Pakistan. (Their identities have been suppressed for reasons of privacy and political correctness. Walt wouldn't be surprised if their surname is "Singh".) Dr. H.S., a veterinary surgeon aged 53, came to Canada about 35 years ago and became a Canadian citizen. Mrs. R.S. is 40 years old, and a citizen of Pakistan, where she had what the judge called an "impressive résumé" of education and employment.
In his judgment, Mr. Justice Macintosh of the Supreme Court of British Columbia wrote that the parties were introduced through a mutual friend when Mrs. R.S. was living in Pakistan and Dr. H.S. was living and working in Victoria. Mrs. R.S. came to Canada on a visitor's visa. [Walt's emphasis] The couple married in Ontario on October 25, 2012, and married again in a religious ceremony in Pakistan.
In 2013, Mrs. R.S. moved to Canada, again on a visitor's visa, where the newlyweds lived in a house in Victoria which Dr. H.S. shared with his mother. Soon after Mrs. R.S. arrived the second time, her husband agreed to sponsor her as a permanent resident under Canada's "family reunification" programme.
Sadly (but predictably?) the marriage soon disintegrated amid allegations that the husband had been physically and emotionally abusive. And of course there was the mother-in-law problem. The S's supposedly separated in March 2014, by which time Mrs. R.S. was four months pregnant. However, it wasn't until May 2014 that her husband threw her out of the house.
"Dr. H.S. withdrew his (sponsorship) support almost the same day the couple separated," said the judge, noting that it isn’t clear if that was necessary. "He was duty bound to do so in the case of divorce, and he says in an affidavit that he was advised by a lawyer to do so in the case of separation."
However, the good doctor didn't bother to inform his wife about the change in her prospects for remaining in Canada. One can imagine her surprise on receiving a departure order from Canuck immigration officials in April 2014. She then tried the old dodge of making a refugee claim to stay in Canada, alleging that she was in danger from a former fiancé back in Pakistan, but, incredibly, her claim was rejected.
Mrs. R.S. was supposed to be leave "voluntarily" or be deported in September. In anticipation of having to leave Canada, she applied to the court for an order allowing her to take with her the couple's son, 13 months old at the time of the application. The boy has spent most of his short life in the care of his mother, although a court order allows the father visitation rights of up to 20 hours a week.
Mrs. S's application was resisted by Dr. H.S., but Mr. Justice Macintosh found that it would be in the child's best interests to be with his mother. "Mrs. R.S. is clearly A [the child]'s primary parent and primary caregiver, and always has been. She still nurses him five or six times a day. The geographic location for a 13‑month‑old infant is less important than which parent the infant is with."
Counsel for Dr. H.S. argued in court that Mrs. R.S. should have done more to try to remain in Canada, an argument which earned a sharp rebuke from the judge. "Perhaps instead of contacting Canadian Immigration to revoke the sponsorship application, virtually the same day he separated from his pregnant wife, Dr. H.S. should have worked with her and with Canadian Immigration toward keeping her in the country in order to keep his son here. He perhaps regrets now the chain of events his revocation caused."
So... Mrs. R.S. et fils are (or will be) off to Pakistan. Walt's agent would suggest to Dr. H.S. [if asked, which he hasn't been! Ed.] that he get a divorce right sharpish, so that he will be free to import another bride.

In his judgment, Mr. Justice Macintosh of the Supreme Court of British Columbia wrote that the parties were introduced through a mutual friend when Mrs. R.S. was living in Pakistan and Dr. H.S. was living and working in Victoria. Mrs. R.S. came to Canada on a visitor's visa. [Walt's emphasis] The couple married in Ontario on October 25, 2012, and married again in a religious ceremony in Pakistan.
In 2013, Mrs. R.S. moved to Canada, again on a visitor's visa, where the newlyweds lived in a house in Victoria which Dr. H.S. shared with his mother. Soon after Mrs. R.S. arrived the second time, her husband agreed to sponsor her as a permanent resident under Canada's "family reunification" programme.
Sadly (but predictably?) the marriage soon disintegrated amid allegations that the husband had been physically and emotionally abusive. And of course there was the mother-in-law problem. The S's supposedly separated in March 2014, by which time Mrs. R.S. was four months pregnant. However, it wasn't until May 2014 that her husband threw her out of the house.
"Dr. H.S. withdrew his (sponsorship) support almost the same day the couple separated," said the judge, noting that it isn’t clear if that was necessary. "He was duty bound to do so in the case of divorce, and he says in an affidavit that he was advised by a lawyer to do so in the case of separation."
However, the good doctor didn't bother to inform his wife about the change in her prospects for remaining in Canada. One can imagine her surprise on receiving a departure order from Canuck immigration officials in April 2014. She then tried the old dodge of making a refugee claim to stay in Canada, alleging that she was in danger from a former fiancé back in Pakistan, but, incredibly, her claim was rejected.
Mrs. R.S. was supposed to be leave "voluntarily" or be deported in September. In anticipation of having to leave Canada, she applied to the court for an order allowing her to take with her the couple's son, 13 months old at the time of the application. The boy has spent most of his short life in the care of his mother, although a court order allows the father visitation rights of up to 20 hours a week.
Mrs. S's application was resisted by Dr. H.S., but Mr. Justice Macintosh found that it would be in the child's best interests to be with his mother. "Mrs. R.S. is clearly A [the child]'s primary parent and primary caregiver, and always has been. She still nurses him five or six times a day. The geographic location for a 13‑month‑old infant is less important than which parent the infant is with."
Counsel for Dr. H.S. argued in court that Mrs. R.S. should have done more to try to remain in Canada, an argument which earned a sharp rebuke from the judge. "Perhaps instead of contacting Canadian Immigration to revoke the sponsorship application, virtually the same day he separated from his pregnant wife, Dr. H.S. should have worked with her and with Canadian Immigration toward keeping her in the country in order to keep his son here. He perhaps regrets now the chain of events his revocation caused."
So... Mrs. R.S. et fils are (or will be) off to Pakistan. Walt's agent would suggest to Dr. H.S. [if asked, which he hasn't been! Ed.] that he get a divorce right sharpish, so that he will be free to import another bride.

African refugee, disguised as white man, hijacks car, robs two banks, gets to stay in Canada
Here's a true story (ripped from Canada's National Post) from the Great No-longer-white North.
An Edmonton man admitted in court yesterday that he committed a carjacking and two quick bank robberies while wearing a mask so realistic that witnesses described him as white man, even though he was (and still is) black.
A year ago, Solomon Zemichael Teklie -- an Ethiopian admitted to Canada as a refugee -- carjacked a woman at an Edmonton mall, held up a bank at another mall, and then a second bank a couple of miles down the road, before being pulled over and arrested by police.
Crown prosecutor Carrie-Ann Downey told the court, "I don’t know where this mask was made, I don’t know where it came from, but it’s uncanny how much it looks like a real person. It was so realistic that each witness on this file thought that Mr. Teklie was white." In case the judge was blind, Ms Downey added, "He is not white."
Ms Downey went on to describe the cimes as "a planned spree". "Mr. Teklie had a plan," she said. "It might not have been a good plan, but it was a plan." So what was the plan? In a police interview, Mr. Teklie told officers he was addicted to cocaine and hoped to be deported to someplace warmer than Canada's north.
Gee, would that work? Errr, maybe not. Defence counsel Deborah Hatch said Mr. Teklie, born in Ethiopia, came to Canada after being in a Kenyan refugee camp for years. Canada's compassionate [foolish, surely! Ed.] immigration department made him a permanent resident. Now, due to his lack of documents, he is technically stateless and may not be deported after he serves his sentence.
Is further comment needed? I think not. That's all ye know and all ye need to know.
Footnote: Oops! That's not all ye need to know. Ye need to know that Canada's caring, compassionate, "Conservative" government plans to admit between 25,000 and 30,000 under its "humanitarian" immigration programmes. Between 10,300 and 13,000 of them will be refugees. Slightly over half of those will be "government-assisted". The overwhelming majority of them will be Muslims from the Middle East and Africa.

Speaking of broken immigration systems...
Americans who are dismayed at President Obarmy's imperial order (see previous post) to suspend enforcement of the USA's immigration laws might pause to give thanks that, broken as it is, their immigration "system" is not as bad as that of Canada.
From north of the world's longest quasi-undefended border comes word that a Canuck wannabe who received a grade of zero (0!) out of six on her citizenship language test and four (4!) out of 20 on the test’s knowledge component was nonetheless granted a Canadian citizenship certificate!
It wasn't political correctness or a desire to make nice with the Muslims that put Haheen Afzal — despite her abysmal results on the tests — before a citizenship judge in Hamilton ON to swear an oath to Her Britannic Majesty and receive a handsome certificate, suitable for framing. No, it was "a series of administrative errors".
"Comedy of errors" might be a better term. Except that Ms Afzal didn't find it so funny when the government discovered its, errr, mistake and tried to revoke her citizenship. Indeed, she fought to keep the precious parchment, all the way to the Federal Court of Canada, which resolved the dispute more than a year after the ceremony.
The facts of the case, as reviewed by Mr. Justice Donald Rennie, were that Ms Afzal failed the citizenship test not once but twice! The first time she scored 2/6 on language and 8/20 on knowledge. When she appeared before a citizenship judge and tried again, she scored even worse.
But the citizenship judge wasn't too good at the paperwork either. He noted in writing that Ms Afzal failed the tests and did not qualify but mistakenly checked the "Granted" box on the decision form. The next day, an official at the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) office acknowledged that the judge’s decision had been "seen" and checked "Citizenship Granted" before sending the form along for processing.
A few days later, on 26 September 2013, Ms Afzal was asked to appear for a citizenship ceremony, and duly took the Oath of Citizenship. It was only after the ceremony that a citizenship clerk finally noticed the mistake. He twice phoned Ms. Afzal and left messages. Surprisingly, his calls were not returned.
Two months later, CIC cancelled the certificate. Arguing in the Federal Court, her (taxpayer-funded?) lawyer argued that CIC bureaucrats did not have authority to do that. Only the Governor-in-Council, which acts on behalf of the Crown, has such power, he said. But Mr. Justice Rennie disagreed, ruling that to accept that argument would be absurd.
Before someone can become a Canadian citizen, they are required to demonstrate linguistic competence in either of Canada’s official languages and show an adequate knowledge of Canada’s social, civic and political norms. Not too much to ask of a Muslim lady from the Middle East, surely? The judge said, "These competencies must be established before citizenship can be granted."
So, he ruled, even though a citizenship certificate was issued, the preconditions to citizenship had never been met. Therefore, citizenship was not so much being revoked as a certificate that had not been legally issued was being cancelled. And that was within the power of CIC bureaucrats.
"This interpretation also ensures that the privilege of Canadian citizenship is granted only as intended by Parliament," he said. That's good legal reasoning, judge! Nice save!

Canada to be closed to immigrants in polygamous/forced marriages?
Canadian Citizenship and Immigration Minister today acknowledged ["admitted", surely. Ed.] that there "at least hundreds" of cases of immigrants in polygamous marriages being admitted under Canada's notoriously PC ["lax", surely. Ed.] immigration system. Polygamy, Chris Alexander said, is "incompatible with Canadian values", so letting polygamists into the Great Not-so-white North has to stop!
What neither he nor the Minister for the Status of Wimmin failed to mention is that Islam is the only one of the three Abrahamic religions that allows polygamy. Just an oversight, obviously. What this means is that Muslims with more than one wife won't be allowed to immigrate. Unless, that is, they lie about the status of those "other women" who are named on their applications, which is what happened in the notorious Shafia multiple murder case.
The Shafias -- father, son and second wife -- were convicted in 2012. That it took nearly three years for the "conservative" government of Steve Harper to make any adjustment in its immigration policies shows you the strength of the multicultists in Canada and elsewhere. Yes, we must be tolerant of Muslims. If their beliefs and practices seem barbaric to us, it's our fault for being racist, Islamophobic, etc etc.
While they're at it, the Canuck government is going to tweak its immigration policies to protect women and girls who seek to escape polygamous or forced marriages. This was promised in the 2013 Speech from the Throne, which said, "Sadly, millions of women and girls continue to be brutalized by violence, including through the inhumane practice of early and forced marriage. This barbarism is unacceptable to Canadians."
Mr. Alexander said that the legislation he's introducing today would eliminate early and forced marriages from Canada's immigration system and the country as a hole ["whole", surely! Ed.] The targets here are not just Muslims, but Hindus and Sikhs, all of whom routinely send home to India/Pakistan/Bangladesh for suitable brides/grooms for their children, lest the kiddos be tempted to "marry out" and thus integrate themselves into Canadian society.
The changes to Canada's "system" will take effect only if the legislation is passed. There is less than a year left in the Harper government's mandate. If Mr. Alexander's bill is subject to prolonged liberal hand-wringing, as Walt expects, it could well die on the order paper. How Canadian would that be!

Our Muslim enemies within
Yesterday, in "Harper's Islamic chickens come home to roost" Walt speculated [Do you speculate often? Ed.] that the gunman who shot a Canadian soldier -- a reservist, the poor bugger -- would turn out to be "yet another Islamic terrorist, whether homegrown or imported, perhaps as a refugee or asylum-seeker under Canada's notoriously lax immigration laws."
Meet Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, now the late Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, thanks to the deadly aim of the Sergeant-at-Arms of Canada's House of Commons. Here's what we know about him. His father was Bulgasem Zehaf, an immigrant (or possibly refugee) from Libya or elsewhere in North Africa. His mother is Susan Bibeau, who just happens to be Deputy Chairthingy of the Immigration Division of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada! Any suggestion that Ms Bibeau somehow facilitated the admission to Canada of Mr. Zehaf is, of course, completely unfounded.
The elder Zehaf wasn't anywhere around yesterday. Perhaps he is still in Libya, where he went to fight in the unpleasantness of 2011. Who he fought for is unknown, but it probably wasn't our side. Ms Bibeau was not returning e-mails yesterday, and staff in her office declined to comment.
According to the Globe and Mail, Mr. Zehaf-Bibeau grew up in the Montréal area, where his mother still lives, and, like his dad, spent some time in Libya. His friend Dave Bathurst told the G&M that Michael came back to western Canada where he worked occasionally as a miner and labourer.
Mr. Bathurst said he met Mr. Zehaf-Bibeau in a Burnaby, B.C., mosque about three years ago. In the interview, Mr. Bathurst said his friend frequently talked about the presence in the world of Shaytan -- an Arabic term for devils and demons. He last saw Mr. Zehaf-Bibeau six weeks ago, praying in a Vancouver-area mosque, when he told his friend he wanted to go to the Middle East soon, to study Arabic and learn about Islam.
Apparently the Mounties got wind of this, for Mr. Zehaf-Bibeau was unable to get a passport from Canadian officials, who have been taking measures to prevent Muslim Canucks from joining Islamic extremists overseas. Walt suggests (again) that it might have been better to let him go. Certainly it would have been better for Corporal Nathan Cirillo, RIP.

Afghan refugee fails to learn ways of new home, meets sudden death
Here's a true crime story from Toronto, the most multicultural city in Canada...maybe in all of North America. Since the time of Trudeau the Father (not to be confused with the Son, who now walks among us), successive Canadian governments have swung wide the gates to the promised land, the Great Not-so-white-anymore North. Every year, Canada admits over 250,000 "newcomers" -- over 7% of its population -- as immigrants, refugee and asylum-seekers. The majority of the newcomers are vizmins -- the poor, the wretched, the huddled masses -- most of whom settle in Toronto and Vancouver, where they'll feel right at home.
You might think that there would be a lot of racial tension a city like Toronto, where white folks are in the minority. You would be correct, but you wouldn't have your suspicions confirmed by the lamestream media, particularly the Toronto Star and the local CTV outlet, which pointedly refrain from mentioning the race or ethnicity or immigration status in their coverage of the stabbings, shootings, robberies, rapes and suchlike daily occurrences in the wannabe world-class city.
Which brings us to the story of yesterday's killing of a student at North Albion Collegiate (a high school in the very dark northwest corner of Toronto) by another student. One student was stabbed to death by another. That was the extent of first reports in the local media. Of course viewers/readers knew immediately that the persons involved wouldn't be whites of European descent. When the bingo-callers on CTV said police were looking for a young male suspect, people immediately jumped to the conclusion that the word "black" had been omitted from the script. And it was so.
Unusually, though, the victim wasn't black. He was, in fact, a refugee from Afghanistan, 19-year-old Hamid Aminzada, who had been studying ESL at the school. He should have taken some classes in "social studies" too. If he had done so, or otherwise acquired the "street smarts" necessary to survival in multicultural Toronto, he would have learned that it's unwise to jump into the middle of a knife fight between two black guys!
Police said Mr. Aminzada had intervened in an argument between two other students and was stabbed multiple times. A spokesthingy told the media, "The victim was trying to defuse a situation between two other individuals... and it turned very, very tragic." Ignoring the poor grammar, the cop's statement was right on the money.
Last night, a 17-year-old boy turned himself in to police, accompanied by his lawyer (paid for by legal aid, of course) and was charged with second-degree murder. He made a brief court appearance this morning. Because he is a poor misguided juvenile [delinquent? Ed.] his name cannot be revealed. Because of political correctness, his race -- black -- won't be mentioned either.
But Walt's readers in Toronto need not be alarmed. This is not the first battle in a racial conflict between (just sayin') African-Canadians and Muslims. The chairperson of the Toronto District School Board described it as nothing more than "yet another isolated incident".

"Refugees", Canada welcomes you!
In a report headed "Syrian refugee applications quietly sped up by Ottawa" CBC News shows us this lovely picture of Syrian refugees Danny Ramadan [his real name, obviously. Ed.] and his partner Aamer, whose face is obscured "because he hasn't come out to his family".
This loving couple are moving from Beirut to Vancouver after the Canadian government gave them initial approval earlier this week. On arrival, they will be given a house, a car and their first welfare cheque, in a ceremony presided over by Canuck immigration minister Jason Kenney.
