Your Singhs today - The secret to remaining in Canada

We couldn't let the week end without a story about Sikhs who have entered Canuckistan by questionable means, and stayed on, in spite of questionable behaviour, whether their hosts country like it or not.

Today we present the heart-warming story of Jagjit Singh, who has been allowed by the Federal Court of Canada to remain in the country "on compassionate grounds", just moments before minions of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) were set to begin the physical deportation process.

Mr Singh, whose current location is a state secret, arrived in Canada in 2021 on a temporary resident visa and immediately filed a refugee claim. [SFX,music: "As Time Goes By".] In January 2025, he married "L.B.", a Canadian citizen, and withdrew his refugee claim shortly after she submitted an inland spousal sponsorship application on his behalf.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) -- the government department whose mission is to welcome half a million foreigners to Canada in the coming year -- confirmed in May that L.B. met the eligibility criteria to sponsor Mr Singh, but no decision on his application for permanent residence application has yet been made.

In early August, Mr Singh asked the CBSA to defer his removal until at least a preliminary decision was made on his sponsorship application. [SFX: "As Time Goes By" swells in background.] The CBSA refused, citing insufficient evidence that his removal would cause serious harm.

Federal Court Justice Avvy Yao-Yao Go disagreed, finding that the immigration officer misinterpreted their discretion and failed to properly assess evidence that Singh's removal would significantly harm his wife, who suffers from... wait for it... ADHD and relies on him for daily structure, medication reminders, and financial support.

The judge did not discose L.B.'s name, let alone her race or religion -- issues of privacy, you know -- but noted that L.B. has no other reliable family support and that Mr Singh also contributes financially to his sister's household, where the couple lives.

Justice Go acknowledged the public interest in enforcing removal orders -- murmurs from the well of the court: "Yah, sure. Hahahahaha." -- but said she found that any delay in processing Mr Singh's permanent residence application lay with IRCC, not the innocent Sikh! "Taking into consideration the irreparable harm to the Applicant’s spouse," she ruled, "granting the stay until the underlying application is determined would be just and equitable."

So Mr Singh remains in Canada, his deportation now on hold until the court decides whether to grant judicial review of CBSA’s decision to deny his deferral request. [SFX: "As Time Goes By", up and out.]

Justice Go, who was appointed to the Federal Court of Canada by Prime Minister Blackie McBlackface, has no legal training. However, she was for years a human rights advocate championing better treatment of migrant workers, refugees, asylum-seekers, etc and so forth.

Walt is unable to find any record of her having denied any application by any such person to remain in the Great No-longer-white North. So the secret to being allowed to remain in Canada is obviously: when you're judge-shopping, shop wisely!

Thanks and a big bowl of Meow Mix to BCF for the lead.

Memo from Ed. to Walt: I'm really sorry, but I couldn't figure out how to embed the SFX. Readers will just have to hum it to themselves.

UPDATED: Nearly 50% of Canucks want border-jumpers deported

This is a follow-up to Walt's post, two weeks ago, about the hundreds of Muslim invaders crossing into Canada through the unguarded borders near Emerson MB and Lacolle QC. This picture of a woman who claims to be Syrian being watched (but not detained) by a Mountie says it all.

The reason why the Gendarme isn't doing anything is that, thanks to a loophole in an agreement with the USA, the cops can't just force the "refugees" to do a right-about-face and go back to the safe country from which they are "fleeing" (and for which most of them already have visas). Nor can they arrest them, even though entering Canada illegally is a crime, because (get this!) they are not yet officially in Canada! Instead, they must take them to the nearest Canadian Border Services office or agent, where they must be allowed to claim asylum. After that it's off to the welfare office for their free food, free houses, and (of course) free legal aid.

If you were an average Canuck, struggling to keep warm in your toque and lumberjack shirt, how would you feel about this? Anecdotal evidence suggests a great many Canucks are supremely pissed off. Reuters commissioned Ipsos-Reid to conduct a survey to find out if the rumours of resentment are true. According to their poll, released today, nearly half of Canadians want to deport people who are illegally crossing into Canada from the United States. A similar number disapprove of how Prime Minister Justin "Hairboy" Trudeau is handling the influx of Muslim migrants.

4 out of 10 respondents said the border-crossers -- most of whom are from the Middle East and north Africa -- could make Canada less safe, underlining the potential political risk for M Trudeau's Liberal government. Junior Trudeau has come under pressure over the flow of illegal migrants. He is questioned about it every time he appears in parliament, from opponents on the left, who want more asylum-seekers to be allowed in, and critics on the right, who say the migrants pose a potential security risk.

According to the poll, conducted between March 8th and 9th, Canadians are just as concerned about illegal immigration as their American neighbours. 48% of responders said they supported "increasing the deportation of people living in Canada illegally." When asked specifically about the recent border crossings from the USA, the same number said Canada should "send these migrants back to the US." 36% said Canada should "accept these 'migrants'" and let them seek refugee status.

Greg Janzen, the reeve (chief elected official) of Emerson MB, told Reuters, "There are so many people in the world who want to come in and go through the right channels. That’s what’s pissing most people off. These guys are jumping the border."

The ironic thing is that almost all of the illegal migrants interviewed by Reuters in Canada said they had been living legally in the United States and had applied for asylum there, but fled to Canada "for fear of being caught up in President Trump's immigration crackdown." Mr Trump must be laughing long and loud. He can say, rightly, that he didn't deport these poor downtrodden victims of Islamophobia. They left the USA of their own accord! LMAO!

UPDATE 21/3/17: Manitoba had the largest weekend influx of refugees illegally entering the province from the United States so far this year -- a situation that has local officials on edge, with many more expected follow in their footsteps as the weather improves. Video obtained by CTV News shows 29 people walked into the province from neighbouring U.S. states on Saturday and Sunday in a series of groups.

100s of Muslim invaders pour through swiss cheese-like Canuck border

"Welcome to Canada" signs are being hurriedly torn down at small towns adjacent to the porous US-Canada border as hundreds of bogus refugees trudge through unfenced, snow-covered fields and woods to take advantage of Canuck leader Justin Trudeau's Statue of Liberty moment. Following the announcement of President Trump's travel ban, The Hair Apparent tweeted, "We are now the beacon of hope for desperate refugees." [I love Canadian beacon. Ed.] Much to no-one's surprise, scores of Muslims who have already found refuge in the USA are taking him at his word.

What started as a trickle -- see "Welcome to Canada, Syrian refugees!", WWW 8/2/17 -- looks like turning into a flood as the cruel Canadian winter grudgingly gives way to spring. [No more purple prose, please. Ed.] Post turtles (see yesterday's post) have descended on places like Emerson MB to encourage locals to welcome the unassimilable foreigners while they (the politicians) figure out what to do to stem the flow while preserving Canada's image as a tolerant society.

The Mounties, Canadian Border Services (sic) and immigration officials (headed by Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship -- himself a Somali Muslim refugee) have been "running scenarios" to come up with a strategy to repel the Muslim invaders without being seen to do so. The results of their talk-fest will be put before the Canuck cabinet tomorrow.

Buried in official announcements and pronouncements is the fact that they have been looking at links between distinct groups of border-crossers that give the lie to the SJW propaganda that all these poor "refugees" are being pushed into Canada by the volatile political climate south of the border. Speaking to Canadian Press off the record, two government minions confirmed hat many of the people coming into Québec hold US visas issued at the American embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. These visas were obtained to use the US as a transit point to get to Canada and claim asylum, all this being planned long before the November election.

Hundreds of new claims for asylum are being fed into an already clogged system, forcing M Trudeau's Liberals to put more resources into the refugee determination process and the agencies that dole out free houses, free medical and dental care and other benefits to poor "newcomers" who otherwise would have only their gold and jewellery to fall back on.

Chris Friesen, director of settlement services for the Immigrant Services Society of British Columbia told Canadian Press, We are the endpoint." While President Trump's executive order may be pushing people into Canada, he said, the Trudeau government's repeated messaging on welcoming diversity and immigration is a pretty strong pull factor.

Not much can be done to stop the border-crossers, said Ward Elcock, who advised the former Conservative government on illegal migration after years running Canada's spy agency. Showing the insight for which Canucks are famous, he suggested that Canada keep talking to the Americans to find the source of the problem. Still, he admitted, no matter how many enter through illegal crossings, some voices will try to make it a political issue. "It is seen as, you didn't control the flow of people into the country," he said.

The view from the front line -- from the men and women of Canadian Border Services -- is not quite as sanguine as those expressed by Messrs Friesen and Elcock. Jean-Pierre, president of the Customs and Immigration Union, which represents border officers, says Canada should create a 300-person team to patrol the areas between official ports of entry, comparing the current situation to "swiss cheese". Yesterday, he told CTV's Question Period that his members say the number of illegal crossings is higher than what officials admit publicly. "The frontline officers are actually the ones giving me the numbers and they're slightly different. They're higher right now...."

"The RCMP doesn't have the resources", he said, "and what we're asking the government at this point in time, we want to make sure that we should be closing that gap. We should have border guards actually patrolling these [areas]." The Canadians who live in places like Emerson MB and Lacolle QC couldn't agree more!

UPDATE 8/3/17
:
Nineteen asylum seekers — two Tuesday night and 17 on Wednesday morning — were rescued while trying to cross the Canada-U.S. border during a winter storm near Emerson, Man., the town's reeve says. Greg Janzen said one person suffered a broken arm while making the trek through a bitterly cold storm that brought snow and high winds to Manitoba. Wednesday's group included a pregnant woman and children. Click here to read the story on the CBC News website.

American rap "artist" ruled not-so-Coolio by Canadian immigration cops

Dis heah be Mistah Coolio! He be a big gangsta rap "artist", best known for his 1995 single "Gangsta's Paradise". He also be a mean motor-scooter, convicted of a misdemeanor firearms offence 16 years ago in his native USA. He also faced -- surprise, surprise -- a felony narcotics charge arising from an incident at LAX in 2009.

Imagine Leon Ivey Junior's [Dat be his real name. Ed.] surprise, then, when the Canada Border Services Agency wouldn't let him into the Great Not-so-white North, where he was scheduled to do his thang at concerts in Toronto, Montréal, Québec and Ottawa. Seems his record finally showed up on the immigration cops' XT computer!

Junior's manager, Blair "Goast" Bryson, said the border problem came as a shock. "He ain't nevah had anything like dis happen before!" said da Goast. "He nevah had a problem gettin' into Canada or anywhere else. Like I've taken him to the U.K., Australia, Russia, he hasn't had any problem getting into those countries. And I mean recent! Now this old charge is an issue, you guys never made a big deal about it before."

Mr. Coolio's fans -- Zippy Tubman and Velveetah Jones -- will receive refunds if they can prove that they paid for their tickets.

Canadians think immigrants should adopt Canadian values, eh!

A little while ago, the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation -- named for Himself and funded by, errr, who knows? -- commissioned a poll to find out what Canadians think about immigration.

Much to the surprise of no-one except the Canadian government, Environics pollsters found a solid consensus around the notion that immigrants should accept certain values as a precondition for joining Canadian society. In other words, when in Rome, do as the Canadians do... or something like that. Try to get along with the locals, eh!

Walt's Canadian agents -- the older ones at least -- tell us that at one time, Canada's immigration policies were considered the best in the world. They ensured that "new Canadians", as they were called before the diversity-promoters took over, would be successfully settled and integrated within a few short years.

But since the daze of PET, successive Canadian governments -- both Liberal and Tory -- have set immigration levels extraordinarily high. On average, 250,000 immigrants are being allowed to immigrate to Canada annually and that's without counting the 180,000 temporary foreign workers who are arriving each year.

Moreover, thanks to white liberal guilt, the doors have been opened to huge extended families from south Asia and the Caribbean -- people trying to get into the cold! Why would someone leave a paradise like, say, Jamaica or Sri Lanka, to come to Canada, where it's cold and you have to work for a living? Answer: because medicare is free and you don't really have to work because the working Canadians will give you a warm house, a warm car, and monthly welfare cheques.

No wonder, then, that Canada has the highest per capita immigration rate in the world -- double that of the United States, Great Britain and most of western Europe. And get this. Less than 18% of immigrants being admitted have the training or education needed to fill labour shortages.

Instead, they come as sponsored relatives of immigrants already in Canada, or as refugees and asylum-seekers. Even when bogus refugee claims are detected and denied, it takes the Keystone cops [Canadian Border Services Agency, surely. Ed.] years -- if ever -- to boot them out of the countryl

The majority of would-be immigrants are not screened properly at all. Thus Canada's security and that of its neighbours is compromised.

For these reasons and more, the Centre for Immigration Policy Reform recently submitted a comprehensive paper to the federal government entitled: Immigration Is Too High and Not Based on Canada's Economic Interests. Worth a read.

War criminals: wanted by the CBSA, protected by the CBC

Earlier this month, the Canada Border Services Agency (counterpart to U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services) published a list of 30 international war criminals believed to be hiding in Canada. Some of them are legal immigrants. And you won't be surprised to know that some of them are not.

According to the CBSA's website, "These individuals are the subject of an active Canada-wide warrant for removal because they are inadmissible to Canada. It has been determined that they violated human or international rights under the Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes Act or under international law." Here's the list.

This list, or at least a link to it, has been published by virtually every newspaper and TV network or station in Canada. Except the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. The "people's network" -- for it is largely funded by the state, that is the Canadian taxpayer -- has reported the story, after a fashion, but steadfastly refuses to give the names, let alone show the pictures of the wanted men.

Why? The CBC cites privacy concerns. Yet when warrants are issued for the arrest of people like Tubby Black and DSK, their alleged crimes get extensive coverage.

The real reason for the CBC's reticence, Walt can reveal, is political correctness. If you haven't already done so, check out the list. Note the ethnicity of those at large. Not one North American in the lot. Otherwise, a real United Nations: some South Americans and east Europeans, several Africans and Asians. Yes a real mixed bag -- racially mixed and religiously mixed, with several Muslims in the list.

But there's one thing they all these "usual suspects" have in common. They're all immigrants -- legal or otherwise. And that's why the CBC won't identify them. Because the Canadian public might somehow get the impression that amongst the barrels of immigrants being welcomed through Canada's porous borders are more than a few bad apples.

The Canadian Broadcorping Castration, you see, does not agree with their government's plans to crack down on immigration and crime. Rounding up and deporting a few bogus refugees? Stripping criminals of their citizenship and sending them back whence they came? Oh no! That would be contrary to the ideals of multiculturalism and diversity which are so good for Canada and so universally admired by all right-thinking people.

If you're Canadian, and you are fed up with the CBC's constant pushing of multiculturalism, gay rights, and the rest of the left-liberal agenda, you can write to: Audience Relations, CBC, P.O. Box 500 Station A, Toronto, ON, Canada, M5W 1E6

Send a copy to your Member of Parliament. You don't need to spend 59 cents (plus tax) on a stamp. It's free to send anything -- even a cow patty in a brown envelope (not recommended by Walt!) -- to [Name of your member] MP, House of Commons, Ottawa, ON, Canada, K1A 0A6.

It probably won't do you any good, but it'll make you feel better.

If you don't like sending snail-mail by Canada Post (and who could blame you?), go to this page and you'll find a form you can use to send an e-mail. The CBC is constantly encouraging viewers/listeners to send e-mails, but Walt suspects that they're only counted, not read. However, because no-one writes letters any more, you're might actually get a response to a real letter.

Out of work? Broke? American? Try Canada!

One of the websites Walt checks occasionally is the Huffington Post. It's got blogs by Idiot Spitzer, T. Boone "Slim" Pickens and others who should know something about how to make a buck, or at least survive a recession.

The Post's feature article today has some advice for those who are finding it a bit difficult to make the nut in Obama's America. The headline says: Need A Job? Try Canada, Where Hiring Is Booming And Home Prices Are Rising.

The article reports on the generally healthy state of the Canadian economy [No kidding? ed.] which last month added a whopping 93,200 new jobs, while the USA continues to struggle with unemployment woes.

At the bottom of the HuffPost article is a poll, asking people whether they would be willing to move to Canada for work. When Walt looked, over 56% of those who voted said they’d move to Canada if that’s where the jobs are, while 17% said they’d stay in the States.

Warning to prospective wetbacks! Many Americans who venture north of the world's longest undefended border are surprised to learn that they've entered a different country. There's funny-coloured currency, you have to take off your hat at the Legion and don't even think about turning right on red in Montréal.

One more thing. Visitors aren't allowed to work...legally. If you want to come and take a Canuck's job, you have to ask that nice Mr. Harper. He'll probably say yes, but you do have to ask. A smiling, courteous "border services agent" will be glad to explain it to you. You're welcome.

Canada's porous border - further follow-up

The Toronto Star reports today that a 14-year-old Jamaican who entered Canada illegally two years has now got Children's Aid fighting tooth and nail (at your expense, fellow citizens) to keep him from being deported.

A federal court judge hearing the case seemed unclear on exactly how the boy got into Canada, but it seems safe to assume he didn't swim. In fact he flew with WestJet...on a one-way ticket! Apparently no-one asked to see a visa when he got on the plane or when he landed at Toronto's Pearson airport. He just calmly walked into our country where he has survived on the largesse of the Canadian taxpayer ever since.

Judge Robert Mainville said "Clearly measures need to be taken to avoid similar situations in the future. There is [there should be! ed.] no question of encouraging in any fashion or manner whatsoever the act of sending and abandoning foreign children in Canada."

The Ministry of Public Safety wants the boy deported so he can be reunited with his family. Judge Mainville got involved when the Toronto Children's Aid Society stepped in, saying the boy's safety would be at risk if he were sent back to St. Lucia. [Sic. The Star first says the boy is Jamaican, but later says "sent back to St. Lucia".]

I would have thought that Citizenship and Immigration Canada would be handling the case, rather than the Ministry of Public Safety, but perhaps there is concern that the unfortunate lad might get involved with gangs and drugs if he stays here. Or maybe he is already.

Walt thinks it would be great if the kid could be sent to Jamaica, to join his older brother, who was deported not long ago after living illegally in Toronto for some time. Of course they have gangs and drug problems in Jamaica too [There's a news flash for you! ed.] but Walt thinks it best that the Jamaicans kill each other on the streets of Kingston rather than the streets of Toronto.

And Walt joins Judge Mainville in recommending that CIC and the Canada Border Services Agency sharpen up. Close the bloody door!
