VIDEO: Together at last: Rex Murphy and Jordan Peterson

Rex Murphy, sometimes quoted and often recommended by Walt, is one of Canada's premier journalists. Jordan Peterson calls him "tough, truthful, politically correct, and possessed of a singular style and character." Like Don Cherry (although he might not like the comparison), he was "deplatformed" by the Canadian Broadcorping Castration some years ago for being too opinionated (on the wrong side, of course), too nationalistic, too politically incorrect... too truthful. Canada's National Post is the only lamestream media outlet which still carries his columns.

I'm pleased to see that Mr Murphy now has his own video channel - RexTV. Last week he interviewed Dr Jordan Peterson, the University of Toronto clinical psychologist who has become even more famous than Rex for speaking to power, calmly and rationally, the truth about the modern state of education, politics, identity, and the (((controlled media))). Those are just some of the subjects they cover in this discussion. It runs nearly an hour and every minute is worth watching.

You will have noticed that for much of the interview, Dr Peterson is suffering considerable emotional distress. It's hard for us, his fans, to see him choking up, and verging on tears. But one must admire his courage in putting himself "out there" in spite of everything. He deserves our support and our prayers.

Jordan Peterson has his own YouTube channel, by the way. Walt recommends it highly.

VIDEO: "Gotcha!" - Jordan Peterson ties feminist SJW in knots

Just two months ago, in "Hitler reacts to Canuck grad student thought crimes" (WWW 25/11/17 - includes hilarious video!) Walt introduced you to Professor Jordan Peterson, one of Canada’s most brilliant, courageous, and rigorous academics. Prof Peterson became a hero to conservatives and free speech advocates by declaring his refusal to use those stupid "transgender pronouns" -- "ze", "zer", "zis" etc -- or to speak words others insisted he speak.

Before the kerfuffle about Lindsay Shepherd'd censure by Wilfrid Laurier University for daring to show a portion of a debate featuring Prof Peterson to a class of impressionable university students (see post), Prof Peterson had himself been "urged" by his employer, the University of Toronto, to "stop making" remarks that would cause discomfort or offence to "transgenders" (read: transsexuals) or snowflakes of any kind.

The "pronoun wars", as they have become known, brought Professor Peterson to prominence. The over-the-top reaction to his standing up for free speech has given him an audience of millions and kept copies of his new book 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos, near the top of best-seller lists the world over.

Earlier this month, while on the obligatory book tour, Professor Peterson submitted to a half-hour interview on Britain's Channel 4 in which he faced Cathy Newman, a very hostile feminist of the alt-left persuasion. on Britain’s Channel Four. Without getting as hysterically argumentative as his interlocutor, the professor answered her snide remarks and barbed questions on "gender equality", the male-female pay gap, our supposedly patriarchal society, and, inevitably, his alleged "transphobia".

The climax came at about the 23-minute mark, when Prof Peterson calmly countered her question as to why his right to freedom of speech should trump her "right not to be offended". His answer left the angry lady literally speechless. During the painful pause which followed, the professor exclaimed (quietly), "Ha! Gotcha!"

Here's the video, already viewed on YouTube by over 4 million people. You can fast forward to the fun part if you like, but Walt recommends watching the whole thing -- twice -- for a clear presentation of what's wrong with all the loony feminist claptrap that you hear everywhere (Step forward, Oprah and the wimmin on The View!) these days. If you have to spend more than 30 seconds in conversation with one of these raging feminists, make a few mental notes, so you can get her (or "zer"...whatever) to STFU without actually saying that!

"Gender-neutral" bathrooms a problem for Toronto University

A couple of years ago, in a fit of hyper-political correctness, the University of Toronto decided it would be progressive and appropriate (etc etc) to make its dormitory bathrooms "gender-neutral". Having boys and girls share the "facilities" would promote harmony between the sexes, end gender discrimination, and accommodate those who are transgendered, two-spirited or simply confused (etc etc).

Turns out unisex facilities can be fun too, especially for voyeurs and other perverts. According to the Varsity (the U of T student newspaper), two women were victims of voyeurism in separate incidents in mid-September -- caught on cellphone video while showering.

Inspector Knacker of the Toronto Police said two women residents of Whitney Hall, a formerly women-only residence at University College, reported that they saw a cellphone reach over the shower-stall dividers in an attempt to record them. Police have yet to find any information about the culprit, but the investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, the university has decreased the number of gender-neutral bathrooms. Melinda Scott, the dean of students at University College, said some bathrooms in Whitney Hall have now been designated specifically for residents who -- pay attention to the PC wording here -- "identify as men or women, in a temporary measure...to provide a safe space for the women who have been directly impacted by the incidents of voyeurism and other students who may feel more comfortable in a single-gender washroom."

Did you catch that -- "identify as men or women"! Never mind what your driver's licence says. What do you feel like today -- a woman or a man?! And they would call it a "temporary measure", since to go back to men-only and women-only bathrooms would be to admit the whole concept of "gender neutrality" is wrong-headed.

Scott, who identified herself yesterday as a woman, says the college will be re-evaluating the designation of the bathrooms in the coming weeks. "The UC Residences continue to work in close collaboration with the Community Safety Office and Campus Police to ensure that the residences are a safe space for our students." Whether s/he went on to prattle about "gender diversity" and "an open and inclusive society" is unrecorded.

Bring back minstrel shows!

Are any of you old enough to remember black-and-white minstrel shows? Walt does! For those younger than dirt, the minstrel shows of yesteryear (they went out of fashion, victims of political correctness, in the 50s) were variety shows consisting of comic skits, jokes, dancing and music, performed by white people in blackface.

I can remember being taken to one by my mother -- a high-school teacher and therefore a Person of Good Standing in the Community -- when I was about 10 or 11 years old. The show was put on by the Lions Club of my small hometown. The MC, "Mister Interlocutor", was my best bud's father, "Invincible Vince".

I had a wonderful time laughing at the jokes and antics of Mr. Bones, Mr. Tambo and all the others. And it never once occurred to me that black people were somehow being made fun of or denigrated. Wikipedia: On the one hand, it [minstrelsy] had strong racist aspects; on the other, it afforded white Americans a singular and broad awareness of significant aspects of black-American culture.

Sadly, minstrel shows have gone the way of Amos 'n' Andy, victims of political correctness. Yet we had shows like Fresh Prince of Belair and the Jeffersons. Go figure.

Yet the idea donning blackface to do a little comedy seems to be making a bit of a comeback. Not long ago some contestants on a TV talent show had to apologize for appearing in blackface. And this week the University of Toronto Black Students Association is demanding public apologies from organizers of a Halloween party after participants wearing dark makeup were given a costume prize.

These terrible racists painted their faces with shoe polish to portray the Jamaican bobsled team, from the movie Cool Runnings, a comedy based on the Jamaican national bobsled team's debut at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary.

In addition to the four white students who dressed up as blacks, a Trinidadian student wore white makeup to portray the team's coach. The White Students Association has so far not filed a complaint. [White Students Association? Are you sure? ed.]
