The Vatican still hasn't obeyed Our Lady of Fatima's command

Walt is pleased to share an e-mail just received from Michael Matt, Editor of The Remnant newspaper, on the subject of  the blatant and egregious hypocrisy being shown by Pope Leo and his acolytes and minions in (supposedly) excommuniating the bishops and priests of the Society of St. Pius X, and even the faithful Catholics who in any way "adhere to" or support the SSPX. Like me, for one.

People who live in glass (papal) palaces shouldn’t throw stones. The Vatican likes to brag about how merciful they are but have evidently failed to notice the hypocrisy of brutally kicking faithful Catholics out of the Church without even giving them a fair hearing.

They say they want to listen to the people, but evidently only if the people parrot back to them what the Vatican wanted them to say in the first place.

They say they are synodal and yet behave like rigid idealogues to those who disagree with their new ideas. Most recently, the world looked on in disbelief as the Vatican refused to hear the desperate cries of a million Latin Mass Catholics whose only crime was an earnest desire to keep the Faith of their fathers.

These rigid shepherds demand obedience of their sheep even after they themselves have offered an example of sustained disobedience to God’s law, the laws of the Church, and now even the natural law.

For a hundred years before Fiducia Supplicans detonated -- whereby the Vatican greenlit blessings for homosexual couples -- they had steadfastly refused to obey Our Lady's command to reveal the "Third Secret."

This, by the way, is the same apparition wherein Our Lady said: “More souls go to hell for sins of the flesh than for any other reason.” No wonder a Jimmy Martin-friendly Vatican would ignore Fatima for as long as possible.

Eventually, they trotted out a doctored-up version of her "Third Secret", which even Mother Angelica famously declined to accept as legitimate. And of course, they've refused to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, exactly as she had asked. In fact, the world is still waiting.

Would that the Vatican were as patient with the SSPX as heaven has been with the Vatican. In any case, in our day Pope Pius X’s prophecy has proven to be alarmingly accurate – Modernists have infiltrated the Church.

The good news? They will fail. In fact, they’re failing already. Far from blowing the Traditional Catholic counterrevolution apart, their recent pharisaical crackdown on Latin Mass Catholics is backfiring. The SSPX has forced the Vatican's true agenda into the light, thus helping millions to see the destructive nature of their Revolution.

To beat them at their own game -- and to not be deceived by their forked tongues -- we must develop a better understanding of the Modernist Revolution and what the endgame has always been. God has not abandoned His Church. I am just old enough to remember what the great pioneer traditionalists did when all of this happened the first time around. At that point, the Latin Mass had been “abrogated” and was gone forever. And then 1988 happened!

Keep the Faith and Modernism will be powerless against you. And in God’s good time, the Modernist Pharisees will become yet another set of forgotten footnotes in the glorious history of Christ’s Church. It is just a matter of time.

I know Michael Matt, editor of The Remnant newspaper, agrees with me [or vice versa. Ed.] Here's an excerpt from the latest edition of the Remnant Underground, in which Mr Matt asks: What's going on with Trump's America? Is this what we voted for?!

ICYMI, Mr Matt said it seems to him that there's not much to choose from between the Trump Republicans and "the other guys", that neither party seems prepared to do what is necessary to truly fix a broken America. Pope Francis, the Consecration, the apology -- an assessment

In the course of the last two weeks, I have been asked several times what I think, now, about Pope Francis, his March 25th Consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and his apology, yesterday, to the First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples of Canada for the abuse of children at residential schools run by the Church.

I confessed, in "Did Francis' consecration of Russia work?" (WWW 28/3/22), that I am unsure what to think about the purported Act of Consecration performed  by the Pope (with a goodly number of bishops joining from their cathedrals around the world), on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

Francis' lengthy prayer added a good deal of "progressive" political sentiment to the simple prayer requested by Our Lady of Fatima. At the same time, the words "consecrate", "Russia", and "Immaculate Heaert of Mary" were there. The full video is embedded in our post, so you can watch it and judge for yourself. 

After all, in Francis' words, "Who am I to judge?" Heaven knows. All we mere mortals can do -- those of us who believe in the Message of Fatima -- is to keep praying for the period of peace promised to us by the Blessed Virgin.

With regard to the Papal apology to the indigenous peoples of Canada, I will say first that sight should not be lost of the fact that the residential schools were established by the government of Canada with the aim of providing for the education and upbringing of poor children who were, by the standards of the mid-19th century, uncivilized.

About 70% of the schools were run by various Roman Catholic orders, and it was not only in the Catholic schools that abuses occurred. You can call it "white supremacy" if you like, but the sentiment of the day was that Christian civiliation (read: Western, European civilization) was superior to that of the rest of the world.

We ought not to condemn the residential schools system outright. 1000s of residential school "survivors" got a decent education and health care, and grew up to lead successful and comfortable lives -- some as legislators and judges -- as citizens of Canada. That there were abuses is a fact, but much good was done.

Nevertheless, Francis made a fulsome and apparently sincere apology on behalf of the Roman Catholics who sinned by abusing the children for whom they had the duty of care. He also said that he would visit to apologize in person, and see what could be done to make amends. 

That was all any pope could do. It should be noted that it is dogma that the Church Herself cannot sin. But members of the Church -- human beings, after all -- can sin and do sin. Even the Pope has to go to confession and ask forgiveness of God.

Francis has form when it comes to delivering apologies for wrongs committed by Catholic clerics. In August 0f 2018 he published an open letter to the laity, in which he wrote: With shame and repentance, we acknowledge as an ecclesial community that we were not where we should have been, that we did not act in a timely manner, realizing the magnitude and the gravity of the damage done to so many lives. We showed no care for the little ones; we abandoned them.

But, as politicians in the liberal democracies are learning the hard way, the distemper of our times is such that there will be no end to demands for more apologies, and... wait for it... "reparations". Words, however sincere, are no longer enough. There must be money on the table... lots of it. 

The more apologies are made, the more "victims" come forward, saying that they should be paid thousands, even millions of dollars for wrongs done to their grandparents, great-grandparents, and ancestors back to Adam. 

I do not wish to impute motive to Pope Francis. I give him credit for trying to do good things, according to his conscience. I believe he is sometimes the victim of bad advice from bad people -- inside and outside the Church -- who have bad motives, such as the establishment of the Great Reset / New World Order. And I pray that God's will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven -- with or without Francis.

VIDEO: Did Francis' consecration of Russia work?

Following the penitential service at Saint Peter's on the feast of Immaculate Conception, March 25th, Pope Francis performed an "act of entrustment and consecration'" of "all the people of the world, particularly Russia and Ukraine" to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Here is the video, so you can see for yourself what Francis actually did and, more important, said.

              

As Walt explained in "Notes and thoughts re Consecration of Russia & Ukraine" (WWW 16/3/22), this act of consecration was done in answer to a plea from the Catholic bishops of Ukraine that the request of Our Lady of Fatima be obeyed, by which means Russia would be converted and period of peace granted to the world.

Did it work? That is the question uppermost in the minds of traditional Catholics, particularly those who, like the late Father Nicholas Gruner, believed in the Message of Fatima and worked tirelessly for decades to make it known. 

A succession of post-Vatican II popes attempted a type of consecration, but not in the manner the Blessed Virgin requested. Did Francis, in his lengthy and convoluted prayer, say the right things, and did enough of the world's bishops join in spiritual union, to call down from Heaven the graces promised by Our Lady of Fatima?

So far, none of the commentators Walt follows has weighed in on the sufficiency of this latest act of consecration. To do so is difficult, because we really don't know exactly what is supposed to happen, and when. Certainly there has been no flash of heavenly light, no chorus of alleluias from the heavenly choir.

The Russian dictator has not fallen to his knees to beg forgiveness of God. Nor has he ordered his invading army to withdraw from Ukraine. He hasn't even agreed to a ceasefire. But it may be significant that, on the day of the Consecration, Western "military experts" reported signs that Putin had shifted his war aims to concentrate on only those parts of eastern Ukraine that he had claimed before the invasion began. Is that the start of a Russian retreat? Maybe.

There has been no startlingly positive result of the Consecration as yet, but nor has there has been any negative consequence. Mr Putin did not, so far as we know, fly into a towering rage and press the nuke button. Nor did the Orthodox churches, of whose wrath Vatican diplomats were terrified, hurl down anathemas on Francis and all who pray for the conversion of Russia.

In sum, not much has happened... yet.... But Heaven works in mysterious ways. God and His Blessed Mother will give us the peace and such other mercies and blessings as we deserve... in Their own good time.

Let us keep praying for a speedy resolution of the conflict in the Ukraine, for the restoration of peace and freedom to that troubled land, and for peace in the world geneerally. Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us!

In this morning's post, I quoted an e-mail received from Michael Matt, editor of The Remnant newspaper, in which he comments on the Vatican's annouoncement that Pope Francis will, on March 25th, consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. He wonders, as do Walt and many others, whether Francis will effect the Consecration in the manner requested by Our Lady of Fatima, so as to obtain the conversion of Russia aqnd bring the world a period of peace. 

A day before the Vatican's announcement, Mr Matt recorded "Crisis in Ukraine: What's Really Going On" - the latest episode of The Underground, posted on Remnant TV. Please listen carefully to the caveat at the beginning of this video. Mr Matt is not for Putin or Russia, nor is he against the Ukrainian people (although their government is another matter). What Mr Matt is against is the suicidal rush to start a war between Russia and the West! Listen up!

IMHO (and that of Dr Ron Paul and many others), we must not allow our liberal politicians and their lickspittle media to lead us into the trap set for us by the Soros-led globalist elites. The way to help the Ukrainian people is not by attacking the Russians and starting a nuclear* war. 

By all means do whatever you can to help Ukrainians resist the Russian invaders, and survive the humanitarian disaster now unfolding. But don't make things worse by waging war against Russia on Ukrainian soil. There's an African saying: when two elephants fight, the grass gets trampled.

If you love your country as much as the Ukrainians love theirs, pray for peace. And if, as we believe, the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary can bring that sbout, pray that Pope Francis does it, and does it in the manner the Blessed Virgin Mary requested. Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us!

* Footnote: I don't like to be that guy [Go on! You love it! Ed.] but can the USA's ambassador to the United Nations not learn how to pronounce "nuclear" correctly? It's not "nu-cu-ler", the way Homer Simpson says it, but "nu-cle-ar". Clear?

At last???!!!! Pope Francis to consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, as requested by Our Lady of Fatima

To place what follows into context, and to emphasize why this story is so important, I ask you to read (if you haven't already done so) "Russia's war against Ukraine explained by Our Lady of Fatima", WWW 3/2/22.

We posted that the day after the Latin Rite Catholic bishops of Ukraine sent an urgent appeal to Pope Francis, asking him to consecrate Russia and Ukraine "as requested by the Blessed Virgin in Fatima", to bring an end to Russia's war against Ukraine and grant us the period of peace promised by Our Lady.

Here, as reported today by LifeSite News, is the text of the bishops' letter. 

Holy Father! In these hours of immeasurable pain and terrible ordeal for our people, we, the bishops of the Episcopal Conference of Ukraine, are spokesmen for the unceasing and heartfelt prayer, supported by our priests and consecrated persons, which comes to us from all Christian people that Your Holiness will consecrate our Motherland and Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. 

Responding to this prayer, we humbly ask Your Holiness to publicly perform the act of consecration to the Sacred Immaculate Heart of Mary of Ukraine and Russia, as requested by the Blessed Virgin in Fatima. May the Mother of God, Queen of Peace, accept our prayer: Regina pacis, ora pro nobis!

I confess to being one of those who have written and spoken ill of Pope Bergoglio, to the point of expressing doubt about whether he is really the pope, the Vicar of Christ. It was my guess that Francis, like all the post-Vatican II popes, would stop short of doing the Consecration of Russia in the manner Our Lady requested in 1917 and again in a private revelation to Sister Lucia in 1929.

Some Catholics have contended that the Consecration has taken place. They refer to an "entrustment consecration" of the world [sic] to the Immaculate Heart of Mary made by Pope John Paul II on 25 March 1984. Sadly, since the Vatican's "Ostpolitik" of those days said we must try to make peace with our Communist enemies, John Paul deliberately avoided mentioning Russia explicitly, "because the Vatican diplomats had urgently asked him not to mention this country because otherwise political conflicts might perhaps arise." 

The late Fr Gabriele Amorth, former chief exorcist of Rome, noted some time ago that the Consecration had not been performed as requested, saying "a specific consecration has not yet been made."

Now... perhaps... we hope and pray... Pope Francis is finally going to do it! In an announcement released today, Matteo Bruni, the director of the Holy See Press Office announced: On Friday 25 March, during the Celebration of Penance at which he will preside at 1700 in Saint Peter's Basilica, Pope Francis will consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The same act, on the same day, will be carried out in Fatima by His Eminence Cardinal Krajewski, Apostolic Almoner, as envoy of the Holy Father. 

No further details were provided. LifeSite News says "it remains to be seen if Pope Francis will make the consecration of Russia in union with the bishops of the world, as outlined by Our Lady in 1929."

In 1917, Our Lady of Fatima told three seers, "If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she shall be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world."

Our Lady of Fatima repeated the request in 1929, when she appeared to Sister Lucia saying: "The moment has come for God to ask the Holy Father to make, in union with all the bishops of the world, the Consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart. By this means, He promises to save Russia."

Let us pray for... and with... Pope Francis, that he will at last do as Our Lady of Fatima asked, and in this way bring us peace to the world.

Russia's war against Ukraine explained by Our Lady of Fatima

On Ash Wednesday, the Catholic Bishops of Ukraine begged Jorge Bergoglio, the man who calls himself "Pope Francis", to consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, as requested by the Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Fatima. 

It has been reported that Vladimir Putin himself once asked for the Consecration of Russia. Perhaps if this had been done long ago, as Our Lady asked, the Cold War of the 20th century and today's HOT war against Ukraine could have been averted. But it was not done. Here's the timeline. 

In 1917, the Blessed Virgin appeared to three peasant children at the village of Fatima, in Portugal, on the 13th of each month, from May through October. She confided to the child seers a Great Secret, in three parts. On the 13th of July, she told them:

[God] is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, hunger, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father. To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the Consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of Reparation on the First Saturdays. 

If My requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she [Russia] will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated.

Twelve years later, on June 13, 1929, Our Lady kept Her Promise to return to announce Heaven's formal request for the Consecration of Russia, in no uncertain terms:

The moment has come in which God asks the Holy Father to make, in union with all the bishops of the world, the Consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart, promising to save it by this means.

But this command from Heaven fell on deaf ears, and years went by without any progress toward its fulfillment. In a letter to her confessor in May of 1936, Sister Lucia dos Santos, the last of the three seers, wrote about this delay: 

Intimately I have spoken to Our Lord about the subject, and recently I asked Him why He would not convert Russia without the Holy Father making that Consecration. The Lord answered, "Because I want My whole Church to acknowledge that Consecration as a Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, so that it may extend its cult later on and put the Devotion to this Immaculate Heart alongside the Devotion to My Sacred Heart."

There is no other means at our disposal to stop the world’s descent into apostasy and chaos than that given to us by Our Lady of Fatima. 

In 1942, at the height of World War II, Pope Pius XII was prevailed upon to make a consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This was not done in response to the Fatima request and did not correspond to the stipulations given by Our Lady of Fatima. Ten years later, in an apparition to Sister Lucy in May 1952, Our Lady said: 

Make it known to the Holy Father that I still await the Consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart. Without that Consecration, Russia cannot be converted, nor can the world have Peace.

Any consecration to Our Lady can bring honor to Her Immaculate Heart and much-needed graces in our lives, but only the Consecration of Russia in the precise manner directed by Our Lady of Fatima can bring the definitive graces needed to prevent the continuance of the just chastisements that loom over us, namely persecutions, martyrdom, and the annihilation of whole nations.

In a revelation to Sister Lucia in August 1931, Our Lord made a frightening reference to the fate of the King of France, whom He had asked, through Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque to consecrate France to His Sacred Heart, promising thereby to deliver France from its enemies. That request was given in 1689. Three successive kings of France chose to ignore Our Lord's request, until 100 years later – to the day! – the French monarchy was definitively subverted and overthrown, and Louis XVI, who was reigning in 1789, suffered greatly at the hands of the revolutionaries – in humiliations, in prison, and finally on the scaffold of a guillotine.

"Make it known to My ministers," Our Lord told Sister Lucia in 1931, "that given they follow the example of the King of France in delaying the execution of My command [for the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary], they will likewise follow him into misfortune."

What we are seeing now, in Russia's barbaric invasion of Ukraine, is the terrible price that must to be paid, by Ukraine today and perhaps the whole world tomorrow, for ignoring Heaven's command for the Consecration of Russia. 

Every one of the post-Vatican II popes have read the Third Secret of Fatima -- Our Lady's warning of what would happen should Her request go unheeded -- but none has seen the absolute necessity of obeying! 

Pope John-Paul II made another consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1984, but for fear of offending the Communists did not do so in union with all the world's bishops, and did not mention Russia by name.

Similarly, when Russia commenced its latest attack on Ukraine, Francis went to see Russia's ambassador (rather than summoning the ambassador to see him!) and has yet to mention Russia by name, let alone consecrate that nation, for fear of offending our Russian Orthodox "separated brethren"... and of course President Putin.

The miraculous graces necessary to bring peace to Ukraine and the world will only be given to us when Our Lady's Fatima request is heeded. Will Pope Bergoglio listen? Will he respond to Heaven's command? If he doesn't... if this war becomes a world war... destruction and death will befall entire nations, including "the bishop in white" referred to in what the Vatican says is the Third Secret of Fatima. As much as Mr Putin, it will be on Francis.

Correction re capital punishment + FREE offer for Catholic readers

In "Arizona to use chemical invented by a Jew to execute criminals", WWW 3/6/21, I wrote: "Much in all as there are 1000s of miscreants whose removal from society would be a public good, Walt remains opposed to the death penalty. Exodus 20:13." 

That sentiment is in line with the teaching of the "new and improved" Roman Catholic Church, which says, in its "new and improved" Catechism, that "the death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person." 

Our old friend Christopher A. Ferrara, whose words have been quoted here many times, says that statement is wrong, contrary to 2000 years of Church teaching based on Divine Revelation. He quotes from Genesis 9:6: "Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in His own image."

As regards the Fifth Commandment, to which I referred, Mr Ferrara points out that the Catechism of the Council of Trent teaches that capital punishment of murderers defends human dignity. "The use of the civil sword, when wielded by the hand of justice, far from involving the crime of murder, is an act of paramount obedience to this commandment which prohibits murder."

Since the Council of Trent, unlike Vatican II, was a dogmatic council, its interpretation must be understood to be the true teaching of the One True Church. I therefore stand corrected.

Mr Ferrara's thoughts on capital punishment are taken from a newly published article (in the Fatima Crusader, Summer 2021) headed "3000 Days to Flatten the Curve"

The reference is to the almost 3000 days which have passed since Jorge Bergoglio began his reign of error as Pope Francis, and to the almost 3000 days remaining until the 100th anniversary of the instruction of Our Lady of Fatima to Sister Lucia during the apparition at Tuy, Spain, on 13 June 1929.

The moment has come [Our Lady said] when God asks the Holy Father to make, in union with all the bishops of the world, the Consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart, promising to save it by this means.

So numerous are the souls that the justice of God condemns for sins committed against Me, that I come to ask for reparation. Sacrifice yourself for this intention and pray. 

Mr Ferrara argues that today, as the failure of a line of Popes to heed Our Lady's request nears that 100th anniversary, why Sister Lucia said that the Third Secret of Fatima should be revealed not later than 1960 -- just before the commencement of the Second Vatican Council -- because it would be "more clear" then.

The Second Vatican Council caused a revolution in the Church, more terrible in its consequences than the French Revolution or the Communist Revolution in Russia. In "3000 Days to Flatten the Curve", Christopher Ferrara give examples of the poisoned fruits of Vatican II, under these headings:

- Chaos in the aftermath of the Council

- Francis' papacy abandons Catholic tradition

- The prophecy of Fatima is ever more urgent

It's been a while since we reposted a video by Michael Matt, editor the Remnant newspaper. In this video, Mr Matt argues that the cancel culture began with the cancellation of the traditional Catholic religion. Our Lady of Fatima warned Sister Lucia that this would happen. Sister Lucia wrote down the warning and sent it to the Vatican, with instructions that it be revealed in 1960 "because it will be better understood then."

The Vatican sat on the Third Secret and has yet to divulge the full contents of the warning. But it is apparent now... or should be, even to the doubters... that the prophecy of the destruction of the Church and of Western society is progressing, exactly as predicted.

The answer is that traditional Catholics were at war with them all, long before anyone had ever heard of Cardi B, "Pope" Francis or Bill Gates. The Great Reset is nothing new. VIDEO: About the corona virus, can we PLEASE calm down?

I haven't written much about the corona virus pandemic, because I suspect most of you are, if not sick with the disease itself, sick of reading about it. Yes, there is a pandemic that is sweeping the world. Yes, people are dying in the 1000s. This may indeed be the Great Chastisement which Our Lady of Fatima foretold, but let's not get all apocalyptic about it. We... well, our ancestors... have been through this before, 102 years ago and, more recently, in 2009.

For those who don't remember, the 1918 Spanish flu was an unusually deadly influenza pandemic. Lasting from January 1918 to December 1920, it infected 500 million people -- about a quarter of the world's population at the time.

The death toll is estimated to have been anywhere from 17 million to 50 million, possibly as high as 100 million, making it one of the deadliest pandemics in human history.

Most influenza outbreaks disproportionately kill the very young and the very old, with a higher survival rate for those in between, but the Spanish flu pandemic resulted in a higher than expected mortality rate for young adults.

A 2007 analysis of medical journals from the period found that the viral infection was no more aggressive than previous influenza strains. Instead, malnourishment, overcrowded medical camps and hospitals, and poor hygiene promoted bacterial superinfection. That would explain why the incidence of the corona virus is greater -- and more deadly -- in nursing homes and other facilities where large numbers of already sick people are crowded together.

The Spanish flu was the first of two pandemics caused by the H1N1 influenza virus. The second was the swine flu -- an influenza pandemic that lasted from January 2009 to August 2010. First described in April 2009, the virus appeared to be a new strain of H1N1, which resulted from a previous triple reassortment of bird, swine, and human flu viruses further combined with a Eurasian pig flu virus, thus the term "swine flu".

Some studies estimated that 11 to 21 percent of the global population at the time -- around 700 million to 1.4 billion people -- contracted the illness. This was more than the number of people infected by the Spanish flu pandemic, but only resulted in about 150,000 to 575,000 fatalities -- a lower death rate.  A follow-up study done in September 2010 showed that the risk of serious illness resulting from the 2009 H1N1 flu was no higher than that of the yearly seasonal flu. The WHO estimates that 250,000 to 500,000 people die of seasonal flu annually.

With all the hair-on-fire, we're-all-going-to-die coverage circulating, Still-President Trump's son, "Don Jr.", took to Twitter on Friday with a perfect video to set the record straight. "Every American needs to know this," he wrote. "You won't hear it on CNN. They are only playing bad news."
In the clip from Thursday's White House corona virus task force news briefing, response coordinator Dr Deborah Birx sets the record straight about the supposed shortage of hospital equipment. Check it out.



Dr Birx contradicted the fake news of dire shortages in New York state and explained that the country is nowhere near implementing drastic measures. "There are still ICU beds remaining and there's still significant -- over 1000 or 2000 -- ventilators that have not been utilized yet", she said.

She implored the media and others spreading falsehoods about hospitals being forced to issue "DNR" ("do not resuscitate") orders for patients due to a lack of equipment to cease and desist, saying, "There is no situation in the United States right now that warrants that kind of discussion. To make the implication that when they need a hospital bed, it's not going to be there, or when they need that ventilator, it's not going to be there -- we don't have evidence of that right now."

As the good doctor said, just because cities such as New York may be short on ventilators in reserve doesn't mean there won't be enough if and when the time comes. As she stated, "There are other parts of the states that have lots of ventilators and other parts of New York State that don't have any infections right now. So we can be creative. We can meet the need by being responsive."

Dr Birx is right. State leaders such as NY Governor Cuomo are responsible for figuring out how to shift resources already in their state to meet changing needs. The federal government is only there to provide the next level of assistance. And think about this... The states where the outbreak is most serious, whose governors are hollering loudest for federal government help -- NY, WA, CA, IL, MI -- are all run by Democrats. Think about it.

VIDEOS: Memento, homo, quia pulvis est, et in pulverem revertetur

Ed. here. I don't believe we've ever posted anything special on Ash Wednesday, but the spread of the corona virus, the political and economic turmoil in virtually every country, and the crisis in the Church makes us think that today might be a good day to get serious about the frailty of life and the necessity of thinking about the Four Last Things: Death, Judgment, Hell and Heaven*.

In 1091 Pope Urban II ordered that the blessed ashes should be received by all the faithful on Ash Wednesday as a reminder of the certainty of death and the necessity of penance. Nobles and peasants, kings and common people, all participated in the same penitential ceremony that Catholics undergo today. For at least 1600 years Catholics have heard the same words, quoted from God's words to Adam on that first Ash Wednesday upon this earth, telling Adam of the consequences of his sin: "Memento, homo, quia pulvis est, et in pulverem revertetur" (Genesis 3:19, DRV). "Remember man, that thou art dust, and unto dust thou shalt return."

VIDEO: The world needs a Marian "Blue Wave"

This past October 13th was the 102nd anniversary of the final Apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima. In a two-minute video published two days earlier, Very Rev. Joseph Strickland, Bishop of Tyler TX, issued a call to participate in what he calls a "Marian blue wave". Bishop Strickland describes this as "a refocus on the beautiful gift of the Rosary, and the call to prayer that the Blessed Virgin Mary has given us so many times."

"The Rosary is a rather simple prayer," said the prelate, "repeating a basic message of devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ, seeking the will of the Father, and asking Mary to intercede for us, the people of God.... We pray for the sanctity of life, from conception to natural death, and we pray for healing in the world and the Church at this time."

VIDEO: First Canadian Rosary Bowl to be held in Ottawa, August 22nd

Here's a heads-up for our Canadian Catholic readers! Keep the afternoon of Thursday, August 22nd clear for the first Rosary Bowl ever to be held in Canada, at TD Place in Ottawa.

What's a Rosary Bowl? And why is this one being held then and there? Dennis and Angelina Girard, founders of the Marian Devotional Movement, told LifeSite News that in 2017, the centenary of the Apparitions of Our Lady of Fatime, they vowed to restore devotion to the Rosary, following in the footstepts of Father Luc Desilets.

On Ascension eve in 1867, Fr Desilets went into the stone chapel at Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Québec, and found, to his horror, a pig beside the altar munching on a rosary. As M Girard relates the story, the young parish priest "picked up the mangled rosary, shooed the pig out of the chapel and said, 'Men have dropped the rosary and the swine have picked it up.'" Five years after making a vow to restore devotion to the Rosary in his parish, and re-establish enrollment in the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary, he had enrolled 3000 souls, and the parish that was dead, with a pig chewing a rosary, became too small for the number of parishioners.

The Rosary Bowl is the public recitation of the Rosary. As well, there will be brief remarks by Most Rev. Terrence Prendergast, Archbishop of Ottawa, and Bishop Pierre-Olivier Tremblay of Trois-Rivières QC.

The site is the stadium formerly known as Lansdowne Park, now called TD place, the home stadium for the Canadian Football League's Ottawa Redblacks. That wasn't the original plan! When the Girards were organizing a five-day pilgrimage from Ottawa to the Marian shrine at Cap-de-la-Madeleine, home of the miraculous statue of Our Lady of the Cape, who also bears the title of Our Lady of the Rosary, they planned only that pilgrims would visit the stadium which was the site of the massive five-day 1947 Marian Congress, when Canada's bishops consecrated the country to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

The Girards envisioned pilgrims strolling the grounds and comparing it to a photo of the historic Congress, which was attended by more than 1.5 million pilgrims, and numerous prelates, including Francis Cardinal Spellman of New York and József Cardinal Mindszenty of Hungary. But then the VP of communications for TD Place suggested the Girards actually use the stadium. "I can give you the field for free between 2 and 3, on the feast of the Queenship of Mary," he told them.

"Can you imagine?" said M Girard. "We’ve got this hour window on the feast of the Queenship of Mary, where we're coming to pray the rosary. We are returning to the exact holy ground where our country was consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1947 and we're bringing a Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of the Cape. And, of course, it's just a few weeks before the federal election as well, so we know Our Lady has orchestrated this, because we sure didn’t plan it."

"In the Catechism of the Catholic Church 1432," M Girard told LifeSite News, "you find out that conversion is first the work of God, and He does it by pouring grace on hardened hearts, so we need more grace. That's the idea, getting everybody to enroll, so you can unleash this torrent of grace upon the policy makers. And in a devotional sense, you can't beat a whole flock of people, the whole church, praying the Rosary together."

What (he asks) should traditional Catholics think of nationalism and the populist movement? Is there a place there for the Kingship of Christ? Is the populist movement -- which the lamestream press persist in demonizing as "far-right", "extremist", "neo-Nazi", yada yada yada -- something which a good Catholic can support, embrace, and take part in? Mr Matt's answer is the same as that which Walt has been preaching for months -- a resounding YES!

2nd in 2 weeks! Brazil consecrated to Immaculate Heart of Mary

Incredible! For the second time in a week, a nominally Catholic nation has been consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, on the initiative of a conservative political leader. Just yesterday, Walt was pleaed to report that Matteo Salvini, Italy's Deputy Premier, dedicated his country to the Immaculate Heart on May 18th, at a rally in Milan. See "Salvini commends Italy to the Blessed Virgin Mary - Pope displeased", WWW 24/5/19.

Sig. Salvini was criticized by hierarchs of the Church (Hello, Cardinal Parolin!) for his fervent expression of faith. At the rally, the crowd of 1000s responded with jeers and catcalls to the mention of the name of the alleged Pope. Francis has reportedly refused to meet the Italian leader because of the latter's policy of stopping by invasion of Italy by hordes of "refugees" and asylum-seekers.

Hard on the heels of last weeks week's stunning news comes this report from Planalto, the website of the Presidency of Brazil, that on Tuesday last, that country was consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in a ceremony that included President Jair Bolsonaro and Bishop Fernando Areas Rifan.

The consecration was an initiative of national deputy Eros Biondini and Brazil's Catholic Parliamentary Front in reparation for sin and to ask for divine protection. Said Senhor Biondini, “We are doing this for Brazil, for our love for our nation." A statue of Our Lady of Fatima, revered in Brazil, which has more Catholics than any other country, graced the ceremony and will remain in a place of honour in the presidential palace.

Signing the proclamation of national consecration were President Bolsonaro, cabinet minister Floriano Peixoto, and Sr Biondini. The other signatories were Bishop Areas and Bishop Emeritus João Evangelista Martins Terra of Brasilia, the nation's capital. During the ceremony, participants prayed the Rosary and sang a Marian hymn, accompanied by a number of nuns.

Bishop Areas leads the Personal Apostolic Administration of St. Jean Marie Vianney, devoted exclusively to celebrating the pre-1965 Roman rite of the Mass. The prelate said that consecrating his country to the Immaculate Heart means that "Brazil recognizes the presence of God." Pro-life advocates, among them a priest, displayed banners emblazoned with the motto "Brazil is alive: no abortion.”

Sr Peixoto thanked President Bolsonaro for his participation in the event, saying, "This space and all our public buildings are places in which the Christian faith is professed.... May God illuminate everyone so that we can achieve our goals of lifting up fellow citizens and bringing to our children, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and cousins, a better and more just condition for everyone."

Notre Dame in flames: part of the Great Chastisement?

One of the most famous Roman Catholic cathedrals in Paris -- in the world, really -- has been severely damaged by a horrendous fire which raged through the building most of yesterday. The blaze toppled the spire and destroyed the roof, but much of the interior survived and the structure remains intact. That so much of the building was destroyed is a tragedy. That so much, including the organ and almost all of the priceless treasures and relics -- including the Crown of Thorns -- can be restored, is a miracle.

A tragedy and a miracle, occurring simultaneously, at one of the most holy sites of Western Christendom. How can that be? What does it mean? Is God trying to tell us something?

For traditional Catholics, this truly awful (in the true sense of the word) event, occurring as it did in Holy Week, the last week of Lent, can only be regarded as a clear sign of God's displeasure with His Church and His people. The mainstream Catholic Church in France is moribund. The great cathedrals and basilicas are visited almost exclusively by tourists. The parish churches are all but empty. The vast majority of nominal Catholics go to church only to for baptisms, marriages and funerals, an many ignore even those sacraments. The majority of Catholic Christians, even if they keep the Faith in their hearts, have turned their back on the Church.

God is displeased, to put it mildly, so He and His Blessed Mother (after whom the great cathedral is named) have given us yet another warning. The fire at Notre Dame can and should be seen as another installment of the Great Chastisement of which Our Lady spoke when She appeared at Fatima in 1917.

On October 13, 1917, in the moment before the great Miracle of the Sun, the Blessed Virgin said, "People must amend their lives and ask pardon for their sins. They must not offend Our Lord any more for He is already too much offended." Our Lady warned of the gravest consequences if this warning is not heeded. The greatest consequence and ultimate chastisement for unrepentant souls is the eternal punishment of hell. It was in order to prevent the eternal damnation of souls redeemed by the Blood of Our Divine Savior Jesus Christ that His Most Holy Mother came to Fatima.

But the Blessed Virgin's request that people "amend their lives and ask pardon for their sins" was not heeded. Our Lady of Fatima told Blessed Jacinta that "wars are punishments for sins of the world." It was revealed to the holy priest Père Lamy that World War One was a punishment specifically for “blasphemy, the desecration of marriage and Sunday labour". In the apparition of July 13, 1917, Our Lady warned that "The war is going to end; but if people do not cease offending God, a worse one will break out during the reign of Pius XI." And so it -- World War II -- came to pass.

But we must remember that World War II was only the beginning of the threatened chastisements. If people do not repent and amend their lives then more severe chastisements will follow. The threatened punishment of the world "by means of war, famine, persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father" is a far more general prophetic warning that has only been partially fulfilled. Whether or not it will take place is contingent on the fulfillment or non-fulfillment of Our Lady's requests.

Our Lady revealed to Sister Lucia the sign that would indicate the onset of the impending chastisement. “When you see a night illumined by an unknown light, know that this is the great sign given you by God that He is going to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father." An "unknown light like this one, perhaps?

But the physical chastisement of which Our Lady warned -- the endless wars and natural disasters bringing about the "annihilation of nations" -- is not the most frightful aspect of the chastisement foretold in the Secret of Fatima. Even more frightful is the spiritual chastisement foretold in the Secret.

The persecution of the Church that will take place will be like none other that has ever taken place in all the history of the world. That which is seemingly impossible will take place, yet it is foretold in the unpublished part of the Third Secret and in Sacred Scripture. According to the late Cardinal Mario Luigi Ciappi, "In the Third Secret it is foretold, among other things, that the great apostasy in the Church will begin at the top."

We have been warned that partisans of the Devil will occupy the Roman Curia under a Masonic antipope! The late Father Malachi Martin stated that he read the Third Secret of Fatima in early February 1960. Our Lady's words, he said, foretold a future "pope" -- an imposter who would usurp the See of Rome while being completely under the control of the Devil. Thus will arise a counterfeit "Catholic" Church -- a counter-church, an anti-church -- the "dragon, whose tail swept down a third of the stars of Heaven and cast them to the earth" (Apocalypse 12:4) -- i.e. one third of the Catholic hierarchy under the leadership of a heretical antipope.

Father Martin said these "partisans of the devil" -- the "third of the stars of Heaven" -- masquerading as "Catholic" clergy are secret members of a sect consecrated to the Devil. They will gain control over the Vatican apparatus, he warned, and establish the "Catholic" branch of the established and compulsory religion of the New World Order. True Catholicism will be outlawed, and the remnant of faithful Catholics will be subjected to the most ferocious persecution that there will have ever been in the history of the world.

Father Paul Kramer wrote that Catholics will not be welcome in the new "Civilization of Love". The exclusivism of their dogmas will cause them to be viewed as dangerous "fanatics" and "terrorists" -- a mortal threat to the ecumenical unity and "peace" of the New World Order. Thus, the real Catholic Church will be treated as an outlaw organization, and a threat to world peace.

The Church's status will therefore be as it was during the Roman persecutions, when She was viewed as a subversive and criminal organization. There will be laws enacted to punish non-conformist practitioners of "outmoded" pre-conciliar forms of religion that threaten world "peace"’ (the neo-pagan ecumenical order of the Civilization of Love) by their divisive attachment to dogmatic exclusivism which leads to inquisitional "persecutions" and religious wars and crusades. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? And yet these anti-Catholic sentiments were already "trending" decades ago.

Catholics will be told that they may avoid the chastisement, with its persecution and martyrdom, by embracing "Catholicism v.2", by "engaging" with the "new and improved" Church, the "new Rome" which will be in communion with the Great Ecumenical Church that will unite all religions. Pope Francis increasingly reveals to wondering Catholics his Big Idea -- Drawing All Faiths Together, because "we all worship the same god" (which is heresy). Drawing All Faiths Together... DAFT!

Father Kramer concludes that those who will have the grace and fortitude to hold fast to their Catholic Faith will refuse to abandon the true traditional Catholic religion. For this refusal they will be regarded as incorrigible fanatics and obstinate schismatics. They will be universally despised as the enemies of the Civilization of Love, and they will be blamed for the failure of the New World Order to achieve universal peace, love, unity and harmony. Their fate is depicted in the vision of the Third Secret: for their refusal to embrace the false religion of ecumenism and religious liberty, the Pope, clergy and Catholic faithful will be systematically hunted down and brutally exterminated.

In 2000, Pope John Paul II declared that "the message of Fatima imposes an obligation on the Church." In view of the incalculably catastrophic consequences of non-compliance with Heaven's request, Bishop Rudolf Graber declared that to ignore the message and the requests of Our Lady of Fatima is tantamount to a "crime against humanity."

The desecration of Catholic churches and sanctuaries by pagan worship and the mingling of the true religion with false religions is the signal that the chastisement will take place in the immediate future. The desecration of the sanctuary, of God's Holy Place -- by turning it into a mere tourist attraction, for instance -- is a sacrilegious and blasphemous act of impiety that demands immediate punishment in strict justice.

The real lesson to be taken from the fire at Notre Dame de Paris is that God cannot be patient any longer in the presence of the sacrilegious abominations that are now being perpetrated in Catholic churches and sanctuaries. It is for just this kind of sin that He declares: "Therefore I also will deal with them in My wrath: My eye shall not spare them, neither will I show mercy...nor will I have pity: I will requite their way upon their head." (Ezechiel 8:18, 9:10)

Seriously, then! VIDEO: Prayers for a Church in dire need

I had thought... hoped... that readers would recognize last night's post as satire... not to be taken seriously. I was just pointing to a major problem -- not the only one -- in the modern Roman Catholic Church. The Church is in crisis, and I recognize that's not a laughing matter. For traditional Catholics, like myself, it is a matter for intense and continual prayer. In this video, Father Michael Rodriguez recites a series of prayers asking Almighty God and His Blessed Mother to protect His Church from the evils now besetting Her, without and within.

Book Review: Alta Vendita - The Masonic plot against the Church

Until his untimely death a year ago, John Vennari+ was the editor of Catholic Family News, a popular speaker at Catholic conferences, and the author of many articles and books on the Catholic Faith. I had the pleasure of working with him, off and on, for many years. I enjoyed his sharp sense of humour, and was inspired by his devotion to the True Faith and, especially, Our Lady of Fatima.

To commemorate his life and work, the Fatima Center has just published a second edition of The Permanent Instruction of the Alta Vendita: A Masonic blueprint for the subversion of the Catholic Church.

Mr Vennari wrote the first edition (TAN Books, 1999) as a translation and commentary on a document, originally published in Italian in 1859, written by "Piccolo Tigre" (the code name of Italian revolutionary Giuseppe Mazzini) for the highest lodge of the Italian Carbonari, a network of secret revolutionary societies active in Italy in the 19th century. It is a blueprint for revolution against the state, and against Holy Mother Church -- a revolution which continues in the mainstream Roman Catholic Church of the 21st century.

The 19th-century revolution in the Church, fomented by Mazzini and others intent on Her destruction, was condemned by Pope St. Pius X in his famous encyclical Pascendi Dominici Gregis (On the Doctrines of the Modernists), published in 1907.

Following the Saint's motu proprio of 1910, requiring the Oath Against Modernism to be taken by "all clergy, pastors, confessors, preachers, religious superiors, and professors in philosophical-theological seminaries", the virus of revolution lay dormant for half a century, only to be given new life in the 1960s, when the architects of Vatican II -- many of them secret Freemasons -- told us the Church must "reform itself" and "get with the times".

Thus began the jettisoning of all that has given the Church Her character and constant teaching. The diabolical disorientation which the Church and the faithful are now experiencing has not happened by chance. In The Permanent Instruction of the Alta Vendita, John Vennari shows that the disasters of the mainstream Church -- e.g. the questioning of the existence of Hell by the Pope himself! -- are the culmination of a long process of patient planning by a Masonic group that has infiltrated the Church, not to take over its government openly, but to transform it from within.

According to the booklet (only 43 pages), their goal is to turn the Church from its mission of supernatural salvation to a focus on saving the world. All we hear from the Church's leaders -- up to and including the Pope -- these days is globalism, immigration, open borders and other ideals of secular humanism. There is lots about helping our neighbours, but little about helping ourselves to save our own souls.

Centenary of the Miracle of the Sun, + VIDEO: Does the Filial Correction = rejection of Vatican II?

Today, 13 October 2017, is the 100th anniversary of the final Apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima, Portugal. This sixth appearance by Our Lady of Fatima was witnessed by a crowd of some 70,000, including members of the media and many non-believers and sceptics who had come to scoff. They were blessed to be present at one of the most stupendous events of the 20th century -- the Miracle of the Sun.

Here (above) is a real, unretouched photo of some of the witnesses. What they saw is described in an eyewitness account by José Maria de Almeida Garrett, a professor at the Faculty of Sciences of Coimbra, Portugal. The sun danced in the sky, the colour of the whole landscape changed successively, and the sun seemed to come down towards the people, so that many thought it was the end of the world. It was also seen at a distance by various people, undercutting the idea that it was simply a collective hallucination. Something else that suggests that the miracle was genuine is that the people at the Cova felt the heat of the sun as it approached them. Their clothes and the ground – which had been soaked by the torrential rain – were dry at the end of the miracle.

Traditional Catholics see the Miracle of the Sun as a foreshadowing of what will actually happen at the end of the world, and also as an indication that we are living in a time of crisis, of judgment, when we are called to stand up for the Church and for the truth.
