Thanks to Greg Gutfeld for letting us know -- honestly, we hadn't noticed -- that President Brandon celebrated his 82nd birthday yesterday. There was no party at the White House, because they couldn't get fire insurance. All those candles you know. But everyone involved in the Dimocrats' shocking loss on November 5th sent gifts....

 

Ha ha. Very funny, Doctor Jones. But allow me this note of concern. While Senile Joe was celebrating, or sleeping, or whatever he did, the Cackler buggered off to Hawaii, along with her gentleman consort. That leaves the country in the charge of whom? 

Wasn't it just a couple of months ago that Nancy Pelosi,  George Clooney et al told us that Brandon was unfit to continue his campaign? Are we to believe that he suddenly got fit again, and will be able to do the necessary should (for example) the Russians send an ICBM in the direction of Washington? Just askin'....

Francis and Joe meeting today... cameras not allowed!

Earlier this month, Jorge Bergoglio, the man who calls himself Pope Francis, dismayed faithful Catholics by welcoming to the Vatican Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the US House of Representatives and a strident pro-abort who has the gall to call herself Catholic. But what the hey, Francis calls himself Catholic too. Walt imagines their conversation went something like this. 

Ms Pelosi's tête-à-tête with the Unholy Father received full celebrity coverage from the lamestream media, including video and still photos. If you look in the background of this picture you can see the man with the camera, recording everything for posterior. And here's the fond farewell scene.

It was only later that Francis found out he couldn't make Ms Pelosi a cardinal, because of the gender assigned to her at birth by some white male doctor. So he did the next best thing. This week he appointed economist (((Jeffrey Sachs))) to the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, an organization founded in 1994 by Pope John Paul II "to promote the study and progress of the social sciences."

As part of Pope Bergoglio's Drawing All Faiths Together (DAFT) mission, he has invited Mr Sachs to visit the Vatican on numerous occasions in recent years. He was a featured speaker in at least six Vatican conferences in 2019-2020, lecturing on topics from education to ethics, such as the ethics of "population control" and "women's rights", such as the right to kill their babies. 

Now, having heard such arguments from the horses' mouths, Francis will get it from the other end of the horse. He is meeting, even as I write, with US President Brandon. But guess what? There was no live media coverage of this historic meeting between two of the top three leaders of the One World movement. [The other is George Soros. You should have known that. Ed.]

The live broadcast of  Sleepy Joe's visit was trimmed to cover just the arrival of the president’s motorcade in the courtyard of the Apostolic Palace. Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said the revised plan reflected the "normal procedure" established during the coronavirus pandemic for all visiting heads of state or government -- a procedure that curiously was not followed during Ms Pelosi's visit.

That protocol also has meant an 18-month ban on any independent media being in the room for the beginning and end of the audience, as would normally be the case for a visiting head of state. Cancelled was the live coverage of Mr Brandon actually greeting Francis in the palace Throne Room, as well as the live footage of the two men sitting down to begin their private talks in Francis' library. The cameras stopped running at that point so we will never know if Joe was able to get up from his chair without assistance.

No explanation was provided for the sudden cancellation of scheduled media coverage. Ordinarily, filming is allowed while the Pontiff greets a foreign leader, and the two pose together in the apostolic library before their private talk. Vatican officials told reporters that some footage of the encounter will be provided to media outlets, in edited form, after the meeting. When good memes are made, Walt will make them!

VIDEO: Michael Matt explains W.H.O.'s behind the mask

The latest video from our old friend Michael Matt, editor of The Remnant newspaper. I don't know if Mr Matt likes being called a "conspiracy theorist", but he presents pretty credible evidence that Pope Francis, Nancy Pelos, Joe Biden, and of course George Soros, even if they don't talk to each other every day, at least make common cause to promote the godless socialist New World Order. And the continuing Dempanic is part of the plan to rule by fear -- making us all so shit-scared that we obey without question every bunny-brained edict from the liberal elites, because it's "for our own good".

Book review: Calling out leading liberal hypocrites

Because of the Dempanic, the Fort Mudge Library has been closed for months, so I'm reduced to reading books I bought at various garage and rummage sales but never got around to. One such is Do As I Say (Not As I Do): Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy, by Peter Schweizer (Doubleday 2005). Although it won the Book With the Longest Title award for 2005, it's actually a fairly slim (219 pp plus notes) volume, a quick and not-too-heavy read for a hot summer day.

One might think, from the title, that Do As I Say (Etc) is going to be a hatchet job, but it's not. The author barely mentions Michael Moore's obesity and scruffiness, Bill Clinton's little tryst with an intern or Ted Kennedy's misadventure at Chappaquiddick. Nor does he dwell on the (((Jewishness))) of six of the eleven leading liberals profiled.

Instead, he presents carefully researched facts and figures detailing the record of Mr Moore, Mrs Bill Clinton, the late Senator Kennedy, and the others (Noam Chomsky, Al Franken, Ralph Nader, Nancy Pelosi, George Soros, Barbra Streisand, Gloria Steinem and Cornel West) on ethical investment, affirmative action and protecting the environment. In the Conclusion, Mr Schweizer sums up his findings thus.

How can we explain the fact that so many prominent individuals who are so passionate about their beliefs don't act accordingly? That seems to be the great paradox of liberalism as practiced by those we have profiled.... In short, they seem more interested in compelling others to embrace their vision of social change than in acting on that vision themselves....

Experience has taught these individuals that their ideas just don't work.... They really don't respect their own ideas and have privately concluded that...liberalism as practiced today does not offer them a road map to happiness.

Soak the rich, but don't soak me. Protect the environment, but let me drive my Hummer and water my lawn. Workers of the world, unite! But running a business with a union shop is just too complicated and difficult. Hire more blacks to fight racism, but let me hire my own people based on ability, not race....

The simple fact is that those in the vanguard of the liberal-left have found their own ideas to be ultimately self-defeating, self-destructive, and unworkable.

The (somewhat) good news for those of us who don't want to do what the liberal elites say is that the peasants are finally seeing at least some of the leading liberal hypocrites for what they are. The Hero of Chappaquiddick is dead. Al Franken is politically dead, killed by #MeToo. Having backed Bernie Sanders in 2016 and 2020, Cornel West finds himself outside the inner circles of the Dumbocratic Party.

Michael Moore signed his own death warrant by revealing the truth about alternative energy. And Hellery Clinton is politically dead too, although she refuses to lie down. But there is still (((George Soros))), now more than ever.

Mr Soros is more dangerous than the others who (mostly) just talk. He puts up real money -- scads of it -- to put the talkers he favours into places where they can take action to bring to pass the New World Order. When Slow Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi talk, what you're really hearing is the voice of Soros, the Master Ventriloquist. Don't be fooled!

Has Nervous Nancy committed a crime?

Following Still-President Trump's stirring State of the Union address Tuesday night, Nervous Nancy Pelosi ostentatiously ripped up the copy of the speech which was handed to her at the opening of proceedings.

At least, I think it was the speech. It might have been the Articles of Impeachment which the Senate found unfounded the next day. But assuming it was indeed her copy of the President's speech, Ms Pelosi should lawyer up and get ready to defend herself against criminal charges. Check out this provision of the U.S. Code.

18 U.S. Code § 2071.Concealment, removal, or mutilation generally

(a) Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries away any record, proceeding, map, book, paper, document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

(b) Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States. As used in this subsection, the term “office” does not include the office held by any person as a retired officer of the Armed Forces of the United States.

Looks like Nervous Nancy's petty publicity stunt could have some major consequences... unless of course President Trump, magnanimous man that he is, decides to forgive her!

UPDATED: Impeachment: Democrats afraid to take the next step?

Those readers (especially foreigners) who think that anything major happened in Washington yesterday are advised to review "How the impeachment process is supposed to work", WWW 24/9/19. What you witnessed yesterday [Walt was watching "Judge Judy". Ed.] was merely the end of Act I of the pantomime. Donald J. Trump is still President of the Excited States of America, and likely to remain until 3 November 2020... and likely for another four years after that!

That the House of Representatives voted to impeach the President is hardly news. What is interesting is Speaker Nancy Pelosi's statement at a presser this morning that before raising the curtain on Act II -- the trial in the Senate -- she will wait to see what procedures will be adopted for the trial. Ms Pelosi (D-CA) said this was because she fears that the Republican-controlled Senate may be incapable of holding a "fair trial".

That's a loaded term that she and her Dumbocrat colleagues in both housess have been throwing around a lot lately. On Wednesday evening she was noncommittal about whether she would ever transmit the articles of impeachment to the Senate. After last night's vote, she told the meeja, "We'll make that decision as a group, as we always have, as we go along. So far we haven't seen anything that looks fair to us."

A "fair trial"??? What a steaming load of horseshit. The real reason for Ms Pelosi's reluctance to get on with the next act of this farce was stated by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), who denounced the impeachment vote and blasted the Speaker for being "too afraid" to send "their shoddy work product to the Senate."

Speaking on the floor of the Senate, Mr McConnell said, "The framers built the Senate to provide stability, to keep partisan passions from boiling over. Moments like this are why the United States Senate exists." Mr  McConnell is meeting today with his counterpart, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), to establish the parameters for the trial in the upper chamber.

Nancy Pelosi, Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA), and Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) have now all floated the idea of freezing the House vote where it is, rather than sending the impeachment articles to the Senate, where President Trump would undoubtedly go down in history as being vindicated.

This morning, President Trump took aim at Ms Pelosi for not sending the impeachment articles to the Senate right away. He tweeted, "The Senate shall set the time and place of the trial. If the Do Nothing Democrats decide, in their great wisdom, not to show up, they would lose by Default!"

UPDATE ADDED at 1710 (scraped from Breitbart News): During a press conference on Thursday, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) stated that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is "admitting defeat" by not sending articles of impeachment over to the Senate.

McCarthy said, "Now, we have the own speaker of the House who is so embarrassed that she admits the failure of this impeachment that she will not even send it to the Senate.… She's admitting defeat by not sending it, by refusing to send the impeachment over, she knows this outcome is not good. She knows the facts are not there. There's no basis for it."

Televised impeachment hearings? I'll make the popcorn!

The Morning Mishap says the House of Representatives has decided to endorse a resolution that formalizes the impeachment witch hunt ["inquiry", shurely! Ed.] against Still-President Trump, who stands accused of improperly exerting political influence over Ukraine. 196 Republican Congresspersons and two (count `em, 2) Democrats voted against the inquiry; 231 Democrats and 1 Independent voted in favour.

In other news, dozens of young black men (and a few young black women), were stabbed and/or shot, many of them killed, in cities across North America, including Toronto* the Good, during Hallowe'en festivities... or for no particular reason. But I digress.

Getting back to yesterday's vote [Thank you. Ed.]... The two Democrats who voted against the resolution were freshman Congressman Jeff Van Drew (D-NJ) and 15-term veteran Collin Peterson (D-MN). Both complained that the secret proceedings so far have been overly partisan -- there's a flash for you! -- and are further dividing the country, as if that was possible. In a statement, the White House called the vote was a violation of due process. "The Democrats want to render a verdict without giving the administration a chance to mount a defence, "the statement read. "That is unfair, unconstitutional, and fundamentally un-American."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi decided to have the impeachment resolution vote following weeks of Republican claims that the inquiry was invalid because the chamber had not voted to formally commence the work. See "How the impeachment process is supposed to work", WWW 24/9/10. The Dumbocrats are in a big hurry to get to the actual vote to impeach before Christmas, so are now setting up what Republican leaders call "a sham process designed to discredit the democratic process."

The procedural rules included in yesterday's resolution lay out how the House Intelligence Committee -- now leading the investigation by deposing diplomats and other officials behind closed doors -- would transition to public hearings. The panel would issue a report and release transcripts of the closed-door interviews it has been conducting with diplomats and other officials with connections to President Trump's interactions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The prospect of public hearings has Walt salivating at the mouth. [Like you never do that! Ed.] I'm old enough to remember the Army-McCarthy hearings of 1954. Even for a wee-un, daytime TV was much better then than now! That's Senator McCarthy at the left. Beside him is his aide, (((Roy Cohn))). It was Mr Cohn's queer friendship for his aide (((David Shine))) that made the junior senator from Wisconsin take on the US Army in the first place. The Army won. Senator McCarthy lost.

One can draw a parallel between Senator McCarthy's tactics and those now being employed by the Democrats. The Tydings Committee issued a report stating that Senator McCarthy had imposed "a fraud and a hoax" on the Senate with his unfounded allegations. "Starting with nothing," the report said, "Senator McCarthy plunged headlong forward, desperately seeking to develop some information which, colored with distortion and fanned by a flame of bias, would forestall the day of reckoning."

Walt predicts that the McCarthy witch hunt will pale by comparison with the proceedings the never-Trumpers have planned for us, beginning in about two weeks. I'll make the popcorn.

* Footnote: Not to worry, Hogtowners! Mayor John "Red" Tory and police chief Saunders, himself a member of the "community" most affected by gun violence, has a plan to protect you. Something about building more basketball courts? Errr, no. Toronto, the World-class City (LOL) is, with the permission of Canuck Prime Minister Just In Trudeau, going to ban assault rifles. You couldn't make this stuff up.

Media impeachment frenzy continues, Walt waits for real news

Meanwhile, back in Washington, the impeachment process contiues, or so they say. Nancy Pelosi is handing out subpoenas like cookies, and the world waits with bated breath for the first witness to testify. Will we ever hear from the whistleblower? Or the deep stater(s) who told the whistleblower the "information" contained in his report? I hear the committee that oversees the Pulitzer prize is having trouble knowing whether to enter it in the "fiction" or "non-fiction" category. Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, Presidential wannabe Andrew Yang is worried that if impeachment dominates the 24-hour news cycle ["If"??? Ed.], it will hurt the Dumbocrats who are trying to win over swing voters who have been impacted by automation associated with the Fourth Industrial Revolution. [Huh? Ed.] In a podcast interview with CNBC yesterday, Mr Yang said "I think the Trump-centered media narrative is generally not helpful because there's a real Democratic tendency to say that Trump is the embodiment of all of our problems. And if we just get him out, the problems go away."

Implicit in that statement is a grudging admission that Still-President Trump is not the problem. If the Dems succeed in putting him out of office (and I'll pay $100 for your $1 if that happens), the problems will persist, and likely become worse. The contrary argument is exactly what Mr Trump called it yesterday -- BULLSHIT!

UPDATED: After years sitting on the pot, Pelosi finally...

Ed. made me leave the headline unfinished, but you know what I mean. After some 30 months of pissing and moaning about how Still-President Trump ought to be impeached, the Democrats have finally taken the first small step on what will be a very long journey towards their goal getting Mr Trump out of office without any test of the opinion of the American people.

Mere minutes ago, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced a formal impeachment inquiry against President Trump in the wake of his reported interest in the business dealings of former Vice President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, in Ukraine. The announcement resulted from a spike in the number of House Dumbocrats arguing for impreachment. More than two-thirds of them said yesterday that they support impeachment, after the President confirmed that, during a congratulatory telephone call in July, he suggested to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that Hunter Biden be investigated for possible breaches of both Ukrainian and American laws.

The Dems accused Mr Trump of holding over Mr Zelensky's head the threat of withholding tens of millions of dollars in military aid, if he did not order the suggested investigation. Earlier today Mr Trump said he did indeed order the withholding of aid... a week before he telephoned the new Ukrainian leader. And, he added, the aid money has now been paid as promised.

While still at the United Nations, President Trump tweeted, "I am currently at the United Nations representing our country, but have authorized the release tomorrow of the complete, fully declassified and unredacted transcript of my phone conversation with President Zelensky of Ukraine. You will see it was a very friendly and totally appropriate call. No pressure and, unlike Joe Biden and his son, NO quid pro quo! This is nothing more than a continuation of the Greatest and most Destructive Witch Hunt of all time!"

Walt notes that what Ms Pelosi announced today is her party's intention to move for an inquiry. I am not all that familiar with American Constitutional Law, but understand that there are several steps between the launch of an inquiry and the putting to the House of a formal motion to impeach. And even if that passes, it would then have to go to the Senate, where the Republican majority would defeat it.

It looks to me as if today's announcement is nothing more than a sop to the Squad and the other radicals and never-Trumper's who have been baying for the President's head since the morning after the election. It is now less than 14 months until the 2020 election. I predict that the effluxion of time will prevent anything coming of these very preliminary impeachment proceedings before the end of the Congressional term. (Lifetime pct .989.) Then it will be up to the American people to judge. Selah.

UPDATE ADDED 25/9/19 at 0600: According to WaPo (always a cheerleader for anything anti-Trump), a Qunnipiac University poll released this morning shows 37% of voters in favour of impeaching Still-President Trump and removing him from office, while 57% say he should not be impeached. Food for thought for the Dumbocrats?

Democrats react to POTUS' address to the nation

Here we are, just 24 hours from polling day. The lamestream media are already citing "scientific polls" which show the Democrats poised to take back the House of Representatives from the evil Republicans, but, they concede, the Republicans may just manage to "hang on" to the Senate. Of course, they admit, the pollsters and pundits got it wrong in 2016, but, they assure us, that couldn't happen twice in a row... could it???

Meanwhile, I'm busting my wrist changing channels (yeah, I still watch TV) to see what's happening out there on the campaign trail. I see President Trump (YES!) holding rallies in the flyover states, with three (3) scheduled for today, including the grand finale tonight, co-starring Rush Limbaugh and my buddy Sean Hannity. Go get 'em, guys!

On the other side of the aisle, I see President 0 (that's "zero", as in zero accomplishments, zero concern for the future of America), dropping his G's and shouting himself hoarse, urging "folks" (whether citizens or not) to get out and vote for "hope"... and "change", of course. Whoa! Haven't we seen this movie before? How did that work out for you? And how are you now, two years into the presidency of someone who believes in not just talking but acting!

Not seen on TV in the last week: Nancy Pelosi, Elizabeth Warren, and Mad Maxine Waters. And yes, I have watched CNN and PBS! Speaking of the Clinton News Network, I have also been mildly surprised by the absence from the Blue Team of Mr and Mrs William Jefferson Clinton. Wouldn't you expect the Democratic heavyweights (geddit?) -- one a former President and the other a former Secretary of State, Senator and First Lady -- to be out there stumping for the Smurfs (geddit?). My sources tell me that numerous Democratic candidates have issued stern warnings to Hellery and Slick Willy to stay the hell away from their territory!

That doesn't mean that the Clintons are inactive, though. They are getting ready for a speaking tour, modestly titled "An Evening with the Clintons", which is going to play such Democratic hotbeds as New York, San Francisco and, errr, Toronto next year. If you want to bathe in bullshit for a couple of hours, you'll have to shell out anywhere between $136 and $1712, the latter being the price of orchestra seats at New York's Beacon Theater on April 11th. $136 is the price for seats in the back, behind a pillar.

Ask yourself why Mrs Clinton and her husband (the one who she says has been "cleared" any kind of sex crimes) would mount such a tour. And why in 2019. It's not as if they need the money, although donations to the Clinton Foundation have kind of dried up of late. Think about this...

If the Republicans keep control of the House in tomorrow's mid-terms, the re-election of Donald Trump seems like a sure-as-little-green-apples thing. But if the Democrats win the House and the Republicans keep the Senate, that leaves a divided Congress, and a President who's going to have even more trouble implementing his MAGA programme. And that sets the stage for a real contest in 2020. Who better to champion all that is good and progressive than Hellery Clinton, who (the "resisters" say) really won the 2016 election but got euchred by that silly, old-fashioned Electoral College?

Keep the possibility of a Clinton comeback in mind when you go to vote tomorrow. Could America stand another four or eight years of that "First Family"? Oh noooooooo!!!

Who's behind the pipe bombs?

OK, before the Democratic Socialists and Antifa types mob up to lynch folks wearing MAGA hats or waving Confederate flags, let them (and the rest of us) take a cold hard look at what happened today. IMHO there is a real risk of the gullible American public being duped by a false flag operation. If you're not sure what that means, think Reichstag Fire... or you could look it up.

Earlier today, authorities intercepted crude pipe bombs sent to Democratic VIPs and their sponsor and master, (((George Soros))). Besides Mr Soros, those targeted included former Presidents Barack Hussein Obama and Slick Willy Clinton, once and future presidential wannabe Hellery Clinton, former Attorney General Eric Holder and ex-CIA Director John Brennan. The device targeting Mr Brennan was sent to the New York offices of CNN (the Clinton News Network).

All of the packages were sent via the USPS, and bore the return address of the Washington office of one-time Clinton confidante, Congresswoman (((Debbie Wasserman Schultz))), who led the Democratic National Committee until she screwed up Ms Clinton's campaign so badly that she was dumped. Ms Wasserman-Schultz also received a suspicious package.

The FBI warned that the situation may not be over. "It is possible that additional packages were mailed to other locations," said a spokesthingy for the eminently trustworthy upholders of lawn order. The package sent to mr Soros was detonated in a wood near his Westchester Country mansion. The other packages were sent to an FBI laboratory for analysis. Some media described the explosives as potentially lethal pipe bombs. Some of the packages also contained bags with unidentified white powder.

So... who dunnit? Even though Ms Wasserman-Schultz would undoubtedly be delighted to see Mrs Bill Clinton blown into tiny bits of Hillaryburger, I can't see her as a bombmaker. Leading Democrats have stopped short of pointing the finger of blame at POTUS and/or Republicans and/or the so-called "Alt-Right" (aka "Nazis", "neo-Nazis" and/or "Fascists"). However, they were quick to accuse President Trump of fuelling politically-motivated violence, saying he "condoned physical violence and divided Americans with his words and actions."

In a joint statement, Senator (((Chuck Schumer))) and Representative Nancy Pelosi said Trump's support for "the neo-Nazis [Aha! There it is. Ed.] who killed a young woman in Charlottesville" and "referring to the free press as the enemy of the people" have created a toxic environment in the country. Stay tuned for the second part of the message (already being voiced by La Clinton on the TV news as I write) which is: "We -- and I mean "I" -- must unite America again, so vote Democrat in next month's elections!"

Forgive me for being cyncial, but I think that's what this was all about. The shock and revulsion of Americans at the march of the Latino hordes through Mexico right up to the border has given the Republicans an enormous boost in the polls, threatening to make the lamestream media's prediction of a Big Blue Wave as wrong in November as it was two years ago. Democratic strategists must have chewed their nails down to the quick thinking of a way to put their gang of socialists and woolly-minded progressives back in the lead. And what did they come up with? "How about attacking ourselves, and reaping a rich harvest of outrage and sympathy?!" Worth a try...

You don't think so? Ask yourself cui bono? Who stands to benefit from an attack on the Clintons and Obamas and the power behind the throne? Not the Republicans! Mr and Mrs Clinton and Mr Obama are out of office now. They are still out there campaigning, but no-one is listening. Hellery's threat to run again in 2020 is not being taken seriously, even in Democratic circles. Mr Holder and Mr Brennan are likewise functus. [Ask a lawyer. Ed.] Ms Wasserman-Schultz was finished even before the 2016 election.

The real threat is (((George Soros))) but he will continue to exercise his influence no matter what, and the chances of actually hurting him are slim and none. Which brings us to the question of whether any serious attacker would actually thing that any of the targets are the sort of people who would receive and open their own mail. The whole thing looks to me like the veriest Gong Show, done with no purpose other than stirring up anti-Trump, anti-Republican sentiment to shore up faltering support for the Democrats in the mid-terms.

I'll give the masterminds behind this piece of theatre credit for one thing, though -- great timing! Polling day for the mid-term elections is November 6th. less than two weeks from today. The chances of the sherlocks at the FBI being able to catch anyone or prove anything between now and then are, like the chances of putting Mr Soros out of action, slim and none. If the Democrats can suppress the growing skepticism and fool most of the undecided voters long enough for them to pull the lever for the Donkey candidates, they might yet pull their nuts out of the electoral fire.

Aren'tcha getting tired of seeing the mob violence on TV -- supporters of a political ideology being attacked, not just verbally but physically, by their opponents for refusing to embrace correct policies and correct thought? Dear readers, we're not talking about fascists stomping communists and Jews. We're talking about the antifa nutjobs assaulting law-abiding citizens, including Congressmen, for such politically incorrect actions as showing supporter for Brett Kavanagh. The Democratic Party has been taken over by hysterical "social democrats", anti-trumpers and other "resisters" who have said, and now shown, that they will stop at nothing to oust the democratically elected President of the United States.

The future promises... or threatens... more of the same. That's the message of a 57-second spot released yesterday by the Republica National Committee. The video features such leading Democrats as Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Representatives Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and "Mad Maxine" Waters (D-CA), former Attorney General Eric Holder, and, of course, Hellery Clinton.



What you saw are scenes of an unhinged mob, incited to violence by the champions of democracy and free speech... as long as you agree with them. If you want to hand the reigns of power to those people, vote Democratic in next month's mid-term elections. If not, don't be intimidated! For sanity, law and order, vote Republican!

Aesop's fable: The Grasshopper and the Ant - politically correct version

Canada's self-styled "national newspaper", the Globe and Mail, is one of the chief practitioners of political correctness, second only (in that country) to the CBC. Recently, however, they ran an editorial -- "The threat of political correctness, real and imagined" -- commenting on an Angus Reid survey which revealed that the overwhelming majority of Canadians polled think political correctness has gone too far.

The irony of the oh-so-PC Groan & Wail questioning its goodself was not lost on the majority of those who commented. (Gotta give the Globcredit for at least allowing comments.) Someone who posts under the pseudonym "ForsterBarry" put up this rather lengthy piece, which Walt thinks deserves to be reposted in full. It's the PC version of Aesop's fable of The Grasshopper and the Ant.

The ant works hard in the withering heat and the rain all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while he is cold and starving.

CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears as support on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing "It's Not Easy Being Green". ACORN stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the SEIU group singing "We shall overcome". Then Rev. Jeremiah Wright has the group kneel down to pray for the grasshopper, while he damns the ants. President Obama condemns the ant and blames President Bush 43, President Bush 41, President Reagan, Christopher Columbus, and the Pope for the grasshopper's plight.

Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the Grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share. Finally, the EEOC drafts The Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act, retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar and given to the grasshopper. The story ends as we see the grasshopper and his freeloading friends finishing up the last bits of the ant's food, while the government house he is in -- which you may recall just happens to be the ant's old house -- crumbles around them because the grasshopper doesn't maintain it. The ant has disappeared in the snow, never to be seen again.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug-related incident, and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the ramshackle, once prosperous and peaceful, neighbourhood. The entire nation collapses, taking down the rest of the free world with it.

US bishop rips Obama, calls for "heroic Catholicism"

Daniel Jenky, Bishop of the Diocese of Peoria IL, told 500 men who attended the diocese’s annual men’s march and Mass that "the days in which we live now require heroic Catholicism, not casual Catholicism."

Noting that "the world, the flesh, and the devil will always love their own, and will always hate us," Bishop Jenky went on to say: "We can no longer be Catholics by accident, but instead [must] be Catholics by conviction. In our own families, in our parishes, where we live and where we work ... we must be bold witnesses to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We must be a fearless army of Catholic men, ready to give everything we have for the Lord, who gave everything for our salvation."

"In clear violation of our First Amendment rights," said the bishop, "Barack Obama with his radical, pro-abortion and extreme secularist agenda now seems intent on following a similar path" as other governments throughout history who "have tried to force Christians to huddle and hide only within the confines of their churches."

Will the anti-Christian president -- and the cafeteria Catholics like Newt Gingrich and Nancy Pelosi who only follow the Faith if it doesn't cost them votes -- prevail against the Church of God? Bishop Jenky thinks not.

The Church survived and even flourished during centuries of terrible persecution, during the days of the Roman Empire. The Church survived barbarian invasions. The Church survived wave after wave of Jihads. The Church survived the age of revolution. The Church survived Nazism and Communism. And in the power of the Resurrection, the Church will survive the hatred of Hollywood, the malice of the media, and the mendacious wickedness of the abortion industry.

The Church will survive the entrenched corruption and sheer incompetence of our Illinois state government, and even the calculated disdain of the President of the United States, his appointed bureaucrats in HHS, and of the current majority of the federal Senate. May God have mercy on the souls of those politicians who pretend to be Catholic in church, but in their public lives, rather like Judas Iscariot, betray Jesus Christ by how they vote and how they willingly cooperate with intrinsic evil.

As Christians we must love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, but as Christians we must also stand up for what we believe and always be ready to fight for the Faith.

To which Walt can only add "Amen."

Weiner not looking like a winner

Walt has tried all weekend to refrain from reaching for the cheap joke about Anthony Weiner, the US congressman who sent a lewd photo [depends on your definition, surely. Ed.] of his underwear-clad crotch to a young woman on Twitter and then lied repeatedly to, errr, cover his ass...or thereabouts.

Trouble was, it was hard to find an original cheap joke. So I'm left with nothing to say except to ask if the congersman (as Walt Kelly would have called him) really pronounces his name like the comestible. I would have said "Winer" or "Viner" for the same reason that Speaker of the House John Boehner now insists that he be called "Bayner" instead of... well... you get the point.

Interesting that the recently-married (July 2010) Weiner has now admitted to "inappropriate contact" with six women over the course of three years through social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook and occasionally over the phone. [Didn't we use to call that "phone sex"? Ed.] [Maybe you did. I never heard of such a thing! Walt]

Rep. Weiner said he had never met or had a physical relationship with any of the women and was not even sure of their ages. He also said he had never had sex outside of his marriage. Looking at his official wedding photo (courtesy of AP) I can fully understand why Anthony would have no motivation whatever to cheat on Mrs. Weiner.

Now we have the political ramifications. The ultra-liberal congressman was thought to be in the running for the New York City mayoralty in 2013. Now it would appear that he will have some difficulty holding onto his own seat in the House of Representatives.

Even Nancy Pelosi said she was “deeply disappointed and saddened about this situation.” In a brief statement, she mentioned Weiner’s wife, his family, staff and constituents, but pointedly did not mention the congressman.

But not to worry. Anthony has another year and a bit to sit in the house as a lame dick [please check your spelling! Ed.] and after he loses the 2012 election -- should he be bold enough to run again -- there will still be lots of Weiners in Congress.

House votes to stop taxpayer-funded abortions

Those who have doubts about the power of prayer were surprised, or reassured, or both last week when the US House of Representatives passed a comprehensive ban on the use of taxpayer funds to pay for abortions.

Bill H.R.3, called the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act,” was approved on May 4 by a vote of 251 to 176. Every Republican Congressperson [or whatever they're called now. Ed.] voted in favour, but Democrats voted against it, 175-16. Former speaker Nancy Pelosi, who claims to be a Catholic, argued against the bill, especially the "conscience clause".

If passed by the Sentate, the vote would make permanent the ban on public funding for abortion known as the “Hyde Amendment,” which now requires annual renewal. The bill would bar the use of federal funds to pay for abortions under the new national health-care plan. The legislation also includes the aforementioned “conscience clause,” preserving the right of health-care workers to refuse to be involved in abortions.

The US Conference of Catholic Bishops has welcomed the House passage of the act.

“By passing the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, the House has taken a decisive step toward protecting human life, reflecting the will of the American people,” said Deirdre McQuade, of the Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities.

“H.R. 3 also protects the civil rights of health care providers who conscientiously object to involvement in abortion,” she added. “The great majority of doctors, nurses and hospitals do not perform elective abortions. Catholic health care, the largest and highest quality nonprofit health care network in the country, rejects all direct abortions. To penalize these providers or push them out of the system would cause great harm to patients most in need.”

The act now moves to the Senate, where "analysts" expect that it will be defeated. But remember the power of prayer...and the power of popular protest. I would write to my Senator, if he could only read. If your Senator can read, send him/her a letter. Send a copy to the editor of your local newspaper. Make your voice heard by man as well as by God.
