UPDATED: "Allahu akbar!" à Montréal? Errr, not exactly

The headline is pure speculation. The gunman who shot dead a civilian and a policeman today in Montréal's mainly Jewish Côte-des-Neiges ghetto neighbourhood may have been a Muslim. Or he may have been some other kind of anti-Semite. Or someone who decided to kill a few people regardless of their ethnicity or faith.

First the facts, then our questions. Just before noon EDT, Montréal police were called to the scene pictured above near the intersection of Trans-Island Ave. and Ave. de Courtrai, near the Supermarché PA on Westbury Ave. A man dressed in camo gear and armed with a "long gun" killed a civilian and a cop. A second cop, a woman, was wounded. The shooter was also shot dead.

The "armed threat" alert issued for the Côte-des-Neiges area was lifted around 1515. as "the immediate threat to the public is no longer present." Although officers on the scene initially told The Gazette they were searching for a possible second suspect, Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) Chief Fady Dagher later said he believes there was only one suspect involved in the shootings.

The buildings in the area house condos, rental units, offices and commercial spaces, and are also home to many Jewish residents, many of whom reported numerous antisemitic incidents since the 7/10/23 attacks in Israel, including mezuzahs being knocked from doorways in the complex.

More recently, the social-media account Leviathan identified a Montréal man who allegedly praised Hitler and threatened Jewish Montréalers, raising further alarm on Jewish social-media platforms. Police had not confirmed that the shooting was directed at the Jewish community, nor would Chief Dagher confirm who was responsible for killing the civilian victim.

He urged the public and media outlets not to circulate graphic images, rumours or unconfirmed information. "Be very careful of rumours," he said. "The event that concerns us today has been neutralized. What motivated him is still unclear."

Well (Walt sez), what else could he say? Dead men, of which the shooter is one, tell no tales. The cops know his identity of course, but are keeping shtum about his ethnicity, his status in Canada ("refugee"? asylum-seeker? illegal alien?) and his religion (if any). Was it a hate crime? Or terrorism? Or both? Forgive us if we jump to a conclusion. If anything that suggests a possible motive is ever divulged by the politically correct authorities, we'll let you know.

UPDATE ADDED 23/6/26 at 0625 FMT: The man accused of killing a Montreal police officer in the city's heavily Jewish Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood before being shot dead by police left behind a 104-page manifesto filled with explicit antisemitism, anti-Zionist rhetoric, Communist ideology, and grievances commonly associated with the online "incel" movement.

The manifesto repeatedly attacks Jews and Zionists, claiming there are "many Jews" within the Western ruling class and stating that the author sometimes refers to it as the "Judaeo-bourgeois class."

A copy of the document obtained by Rebel News further alleges that "the influence of Zionist Jews upon the western bourgeoisie is in fact so strong" that it has shaped Western society itself, and goes on to assert that "Jewish interests dominate the levers of finance, media, and politics," describing this alleged influence as "pervasive and corrosive."

VIDEO: "Hey, mofo! I gots to use da baffroom!"

Around 3 AM on July 15th, Leliqua Clarke, a black "lady" resident in the ghetto that is Brampton ON, felt that she needed to use the washroom. Being out and about (as Canucks say) rather than home in bed, she drove into a nearby Tim Hortons -- Canada's cheaper, better version of Starbucks. Unlike the infamous Starbucks of Philthydelphia, Timmie's doesn't mind if non-patrons avail of their "facilities", provided that the store is open.

Unfortunately for Ms Clarke, this particular outlet, although open 24/7, wisely offers drive-through service only from 10 PM until the sun comes up. What to do? Rather than squatting in the parking lot, as is not unknown in such places, Ms Clarke decided to climb through the drive-through service window! The staff -- a 25-year-old woman, reportedly pregnant, and a 20-year-old man, were taken by surprise. A tussle ensued.

[Who took that video?! Ed.] Never mind! Just pay attention to what happened! You can see Ms Clarke holding the female employee in a headlock while the male employee tries to get her to loosen the grip. Then Ms Clarke throws a number of punches at the female employee. Both employees suffered minor injuries.

Unlike the employees of the Philadelphia Starbucks, the Timmie's staff didn't call the cops. It wasn't until the video went viral on YouTube that the Authorities intervened. The local constabulary tracked down and arrested Ms Clarke, charging her with two counts of assault and one count of break and enter with intent to commit a crime. (Agent 3 says defence lawyers -- doubtless retained at taxpayers' expense through Ontario's legal aid plan -- should demand specifics of the intended crime!) She will be in court this morning for a bail hearing

Without making any snarky comments about race, Tim Hortons issued a statement calling Ms Clarke's behaviour "aggressive" and "completely unacceptable" saying no one should come to work expecting to be treated so harshly. They have no plans, they said, to conduct any Starbucks-style sensitivity training.

VIDEO: Is this how it ends? Diversity = white genocide

Back in the hippie-dippy 60s, when "integration" was the flavour of the month (OK, decade) and the "progressives" were touting the loveliness of a multiracial (therefore non-racial) society, there was a joke that a neighbourhood was integrated only from the moment the first black family moved in until the last white family moved out.

As residents of places which have been "integrated" to the point of becoming ghettos know, it's not funny. There's a large group of "refugees" who get no sympathy these days from the lamestream media and liberal politicians. I call them the "white flees", who are getting out of the new ghettos (Hello, Brampton, Ontario!) and heading for the hills. And not without reason, as this disturbing and depressing video shows.

Hellery Clinton says "white genocide" is a kooky (and dangerous) conspiracy theory. says the Alt-Right is concerned about White Genocide. Walt says white genocide is not a theory, but a fact. Mass immigration, racial integration, miscegenation, low fertility rates and abortion are being promoted by Mrs Bill Clinton and her liberal admirers and fellow-travellers in predominantly white countries to deliberately turn them minority-white and hence cause white people to become extinct. That is how white civilization on Planet Earth will come to an end.

Thanks to Agent 6 for the link to the video. Click here to read more on white genocide and what you can do to fight for the preservation of our culture and our race.

Canucks! Tell your government what you think about immigration!

Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship -- seriously, that's his title, in that order -- John McCallum visited the ghetto that is Brampton, Ontario recently to announce that the very progressive government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Himselfie is ready to introduce changes to the current immigration system. Top of their multiculti agenda, he said, is speeding up the process of "family class immigration". In Brampton, that means the south Asians who have flooded in will be able to bring even more of their elderly and sick parents, grandparents, uncles and aunties.

How do you feel about that? The minister's visit is supposed to be part of a "consultation process" to help the Gliberals understand how Canadians really feel about immigration. In Brampton, of course, all the turbanned citizens sitting at the table with Mr McCallum think opening the doors wider is a great idea. But what do Walt's readers in Otter Haunch, Saskatchewan and TROC think? Dear Canuck readers, your government doesn't want you to be able to say you weren't asked, so they've set up a web survey, with a short questionnaire which allows you to give your opinion. Watch your language, eh!

UPDATED: Brampton a ghetto? How can they say that?

About a week ago, an article appeared in Canada's self-styled national newspaper, the Groan and Wail, calling to readers' attention the fact that Brampton -- a bedroom community northwest of Toronto -- has become something of a south Asian ghetto. The writer was a Pakistani immigrant who had lived in Chicago and then moved to Brampton where, she said, she felt right at home amongst her own kind.

The article got a lot of readership, and apparently inspired many people to check out "Saying the unsayable about the unspeakable in Brampton, Canada", posted here well over two years ago. In that piece I made essentially the same point, without the positive, politically correct spin that the Glob's contributor put on it.

Imagine the surprise of the writer (not to mention the newspaper's PC censors) when the most-liked comments were... how to say it... not racist but, errr, not overly pleased to see Brampton turned into Bombay. Here are the top three.

(Jenn-Jenn) Immigration was never meant to balkanize Canada. Too much immigration is never good for the host country. It is past time to give mass immigration a long breather, and let the newcomers here assimilate into Canadian culture. Canada is in jeopardy of being overwhelmed by these different cultures. Let's keep our Canadian culture and history intact. It is worth preserving.

(Meatball) I was born in Toronto, raised in Brampton from the time when the town had one (1) stoplight at the "four corners" (Main and Queen Sts). I watched as the town turned brown, so to speak, and finally sold out in the mid-1990s. Was it because I'm a racist? I like to think of myself as a realist, not a racist. I didn't want mine to be the last white family in a neighbourhood where most people don't share my religion or even my language. And I didn't force the south Asians to come live in myh neighbourhood. They came of their own accord, and voluntarily created their own ghetto, where people like me are not welcome. So who's the racist?

(Asterix111) My friend lives in Brampton and is Caucasian. Is he a visible minority? Can he obtain funding from the government to open a "Caucasian Association of Brampton"?

Mind you, several commenters took issue with the characterization of Brampton as a "ghetto". Brampton's not 100% south Asian, said one, not even 50% -- only about 45%! And there are black folks there too, even a few whites who haven't headed for the hills -- Caledon Hills or Halton Hills, that is. How dare the writer call it a ghetto, they protested.

Just by coincidence, the city's own alleged newspaper, the Brampton Guardian, today features an article headed "Made-in-Brampton web series Anarkali rides the wave of success". Here, without further comment, is the accompanying photo.

Further reading (added 22/6/16): "Is this Peel's Year of the Gun? Shootings are up 130 per cent in Brampton and Mississauga", Brampton Guardian. Sure sounds like a ghetto to me! The articles referred to above refer to the south Asian ghetto, but an Agent informs me that the northwest quadrant of Brampton is pretty much a black ghetto, just like northwestern Toronto.

Book review: Matt Taibbi explains why, in the new American ghetto, voting doesn't matter

In "Why Hong Kong's 'umbrella revolution' matters", Walt said The people of China would love to have the freedom of the ballot. Some are prepared to die for it. If you have it and don't use it, don't be surprised if one day you lose it.

Seemed like an irrefutable argument to me, until Agent 3 thrust into my hands a copy of Griftopia, by Matt Taibbi (Spiegel & Grau, 2010). In this eminently readable book, Mr. Taibbi dips his pen in vitriol and deconstructs the financial crisis of 2008-9 in language that even a non-economist like Walt can understand. He shows how the rise, fall, and rescue of Wall Street was the work of the network of crooks, grifters and looters who sit at the nexus of American political and economic power.

However, Griftopia is more than an angry condemnation of the past. The author predicts that, with the grifters even more in control now than ever before, the whole maggot-gagging scenario is bound to be repeated again -- an argument that Walt finds thoroughly convincing in light of this weeks gut-wrenching ride on the Wall Street roller coaster.

I don't normally copy lengthy quotes from books I recommend, but I found the description and explanation of the new American ghetto -- the one Mr. Taibbi says we are powerless to change -- so compelling that I'm going to break my rule [You mean my rule! Ed.] Here are more than a few choice words from the introductory chapter.

In the new American ghetto, the nightmare engine is bubble economics, a kind of high-tech casino scam that kills neighborhoods just like dope does, only the product is credit, not crack of heroin. It concentrates the the money of the population in just a few hands with brutal efficiency, just like narco-business, and just as in narco-business the product itself, debt, steadily demoralizes the customer to the point where he's unable to prevent himself from being continually dominated.

In the ghetto, nobody gets real dreams. What they get are short-term rip-off versions of real dreams. You don't get real wealth, with a home, credit, a yard, money for your kids' college -- you get a fake symbol of wealth, a gold chain, a Fendi bag, a tricked-out car you bought with cash. Nobody gets to be really rich for long, but you do get to be pretend rich, for a few days, weeks, maybe even a few months. It makes you feel better to wear that gold, but when real criminals drive by on the overpass, they laugh.

It's the same in our new ghetto. We don't get real political movements and real change; what we get, instead, are crass show-business manipulations whose followers' aspirations are every bit as laughable and desperate as the wealth dreams of the street hustler with his gold rope. What we get, in other words, are moderates who don't question the corporate consensus dressed up as revolutionary leaders, like Barack Obama, and wonderfully captive opposition diversions like the Tea Party -- the latter a fake movement for real peasants....

The new America...is fast becoming a vast ghetto in which all of us, conservatives and progressives, are being bled dry by a relatively tiny oligarchy of extremely clever financial criminals and their castrato henchmen in government, whose main job is to be good actors on TV and put on a good show.

This invisible hive of high-class thieves stays in business because when we're not completely distracted and exhausted by our work and entertainments, we prefer not to ponder the dilemma of why gasoline went over four dollars a gallon, why our pension funds just lost 20 percent of their value, or why when we do the right thing by saving money, we keep being punished by interest rates that hover near zero, while banks that have been the opposite of prudent get rewarded with free billions.

In reality political power is simply taken from most of us by a grubby kind of fiat, in little fractions of a percent here and there each and every day, through a thousand separate transactions that take place in fine print and in the margins of a vast social mechanism that most of us are simply not conscious of.

Wow! Scary. And depressing. All the same,Griftopia is essential reading for anyone who wants to understand the labyrinthine inner workings of politics and finance in the Excited States of America. If you read it, at least you'll understand what's going on as the country discovers it can't awaken from Mr. Taibbi's nightmare.

Also recommended: On the same general theme -- why America is going to hell in a handbasket -- Walt recommends Mark Steyn's After America (Regnery Publishing, 2011). He and Matt Taibbi were writing at almost the same time, about the same subject. Although they approach the issue of America's decline and fall from opposing ends of the political spectrum, they reach the same depressing conclusion. Could they be wrong? Can Americans give their heads a shake, get rid of the grifters and restore the nation to its former greatness? Walt wouldn't be on it. Lifetime pct .947.

Saying the unsayable about the unspeakable in Brampton, Canada

Brampton, Ontario, Canada used to be a nice little white little community. Walt passed through there in the early 1950s and remembers it having a population of less than 10,000 and one (1) traffic light at the main intersection, which everyone called "The Four Corners". (Banks occupied three of the four corners. How Canadian is that?!) The traffic signal had only red and green lights, didn't need a yellow. No-one signalled turns because everyone knew where everyone else was going anyway. It was that kind of town.

Sixty years later, Brampton has changed. The population is well over half a million, and more than half of those are vizmins, mainly from south Asia although a black ghetto is developing in the city's northwest quadrant. Don't take Walt's word for it. Check out "Brampton's growing pains", which appeared in the Brampton Guardian last week.

The Guardian kind of downplays the issues of immigration, race and poverty because Canadians like to pretend problems like ghettoization only exist in other countries. In case you can't find the paper's reference, we'll copy it here.
"The population explosion has also sparked concerns about ghettoization, both in terms of income and race. Like other Peel Region municipalities, Brampton faces growing income inequality thanks to a decline in well-paying jobs, a surge of immigrants who may face language barriers in the workplace, and rising home prices."

The article didn't generate a lot of interest or discussion. Why would it, in places with nicknames like "Bramladesh" and "Sikhdale"? That's the way things are, thanks to Pierre Trudeau's Liberal governments of the 1970s and every one of their successors of both red and blue stripes. The politicians opened the floodgates because every immigrant is a potential voter who will be beholden to the progressive pols who allowed them to escape their third-world cesspits by coming by the boatload to the Great No-longer-white North.

Now, however, a political action group called Immigration Watch Canada, is causing some long-overdue discussion about the pitfalls of excessive immigration of unassimilable minorities. They dare to question the wisdom of "a social engineering experiment that is conducted on Canada’s mainstream population in order to make it a minority."

They're circulating a pamphlet called "The Changing Face of Brampton - Is This What You Really Want?", which has predictably (and instantly) been denounced as "racist" by the usual gang of "progressive thinkers" and forces for good in the community.

The flyer points out the drastically changed demographics of Brampton's population. It shows two photos. The first is of a group of white people. The second shows a group of Sikhs. Under it is the question: "Is this really what you want?"

Certain people are upset -- hotter'n firecrackers as Fred C. Dobbs would say. "This kind of message divides the community", said MPP Jagmeet Singh (NDP, Bramalea-Gore-Malton). Mr. Singh is the first turbaned Sikh to be elected to the Ontario legislature. Said he, "We need to celebrate our diversity and celebrate the fact that Canada is first and foremost a country of immigrants." Ah yes. "Celebrating diversity" is the politically correct thing to say and do. Not "Is this really what you want?"!

Brampton Mayor Susan Fennell expressed her disapproval in a tweet -- of course -- and written statement from her office. "These flyers are disgusting," she said, suggesting the document might fall under a hate crime. ("Hate crime" = political incorrectness.) "Racism has no place in Brampton. I have informed Peel police about these bigoted acts."

(Mayor Fennell, by the way, has a higher salary and expense account than just about any other "chief magistrate" in Canada. She gets re-elected year after year thanks in part to the votes of people whose ID might be called into question by people less charitable than Walt.)

Balpreet Singh, of the World Sikh Organization of Canada, doesn't think the "hate crime" charge is going to stick. "I think the pamphlets are in very bad taste," he said, "but I don't think that they go into the territory of hate crime, so I don't expect anything to be done."

That's one thing both Mr. Singhs and Immigration Watch Canada agree on. There will be a provincial election as early as June, a municipal election in the fall, and a federal election next year. Nothing will be done to halt or even reduce the flow into Canada -- and other Western countries -- of unassimilable third-world immigrants. It's too late.

VIDEO: Muslim "no-go" zones in France -- the failure of multicult

Here's "Multiculturalisme et islam en France", a report from CBN News that's been viewed more than 3.7 million times. It's had its share of "dislikes" on YouTube, but there are over four times as many "likes"!

Voiceover is in English, but there are subtitles in French and (sometimes) in English. More important than the words are the images. Is this a vision of the future of countries like the USA and Canada who still espouse multiculturalism and the "celebration of diversity"? Don't say you weren't warned!

Toronto wins something, at last

Last night the Maple Leafs managed to squeak by Carolina to win their second game of the NHL season. How about that...

Q. What did the Leafs fan do after the Leafs won the Stanley Cup?
A. He turned off the PlayStation.

In more important news, the City of Toronto -- a.k.a. the Wormy Apple, New York Wannabe, or Hogtown [that's soooo dated. ed] -- was awarded the 2015 Pan-American Games. After decades of trying, the little city that would be world-class finally attracted a major international sporting event.

Is this good news for the denizens of Boredom-on-the-Don? The cost of hosting the games is projected to run into billions of dollars, pretty expensive for a few days in the sun.

On the other hand, a lot of new "infrastructure" will be left behind, and that should be a good thing. Toronto needs more public housing, eh -- the tenements of tomorrow.

Also left behind may be some of the hundreds of athletes and hangers-on from the 42 "nations" who will be coming to Toronto to compete. There'll be plenty of visas for folks from Jamaica, Mexico, Colombia. It's just possible that some of them will choose to disappear into the ghettos of Regent Park and Jane-Finch, rather than return to their paradisaical homelands.

It is no secret that there are already 1000s of Latin Americans living in Toronto, including many bogus refugee claimants. The Auditor-General reported this week that 90% of Mexican "refugees" are having their claims denied. But how many of them are being deported?

Anyway, the Hispanics are here so Toronto had better get used to it. Mayor David Miller and Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty actually bragged about it, making Toronto's "diversity" a big point in their sales pitch.

In his gracious acceptance speech, Mayor Millertime said "Let's see if your Latin Americans can beat our Latin Americans!" No kidding! He really did say that. I saw the clip on the TV news. But at least he didn't refer to them as "wetbacks"!

No matter. Walt wishes Toronto well. I look forward to seeing that great city all spic and span in 2015.

CBC Toronto: voice of the ghetto?

Walt listens to CBC Radio. For readers outside of Canada, CBC is the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (sometimes referred to as the Canadian Broadcorping Castration), the government-owned public broadcaster. CBC's Radio One has a number of excellent news and current affairs programs -- As It Happens, The House, The Current -- some of which are picked up by NPR or models for NPR programs.

Since the CBC network stretches over six time zones, from coast to coast to coast -- A mari usque ad mare and all that -- it naturally has local programming suitable to the differing needs of audiences in Toronto and "the regions".

The top programs on Toronto's "flagship station" are Metro Morning (the wake-up show) and Here and Now (the drive-home show). Both programs feature affable hosts, friendly on-air personalities and lots of news and chatter.

In recent years, though, in the CBC's eternal quest to be all things to all people, they've started to include bits of "music" in what used to be an all-talk format. And since CBC Toronto panders shamelessly to its "vizmin" audience (both of them), the so-called "music" is mostly what I would call "ghetto pop". If it's not black African, then it's black American, or African-American (the ultimate oxymoron). Every now and then, for a change, we get some salsa or other Latin-American sounds.

Walt is sick, sore and tired of it! If we must have music (why?), then how about some music for the rest of us? How about some chansons canadiennes? Or down-east fiddling? Or country? Or, if we must "sing with many voices", how about some μπουζούκι? Or a polka or Гопак? Or a tarantella or a Bollywood number or something in Chinese? Anything but this endless stream of "ghetto music" -- another oxymoron!

Memo to Susan Marjetti, Regional Director of CBC Radio: You have listeners outside Toronto's black and Latino ghettos! "Multiculturalism" includes our cultures too!

Susan Marjetti's phone number is 416-205-5791. To send her an e-mail, follow the link on this page.

The gorillas in our midst

I was born in Toronto. (Long before the earth's crust cooled? ed.) I spent several years of my life there. But I've left, along with 1000s of others like me, because the Toronto of today more closely resembles Kingston... Kingston, Jamaica, that is, not Kingston, Ontario.

Toronto today is a collection of ghettos. There's Little Italy, Little Portugal, Greek Town, Old Chinatown -- the new Chinatowns being sensibly located in neighbouring cities. And there are other ghettos of Russians, Tamils, Somalis and just about every nationality on earth. Then there are the black ghettos.

I refer to York South-Weston, the area bounded by Lawrence Avenue, Caledonia Road, Dundas Street West and the Humber River. An article in Saturday's Globe and Mail describes it as "the new epicentre of gang activity". It is stuck between four other typically high-crime areas. There are the fabled Rexdale and Jane-Finch neighbourhoods to the northwest and north, the Lawrence Heights “jungle” to the northeast and Parkdale to the southeast.

What these areas have in common is that the majority of residents are black -- immigrants from Jamaica and other islands in the sun, and latterly "refugees" from the Horn of Africa. This is hardly news. It is a fact visible to anyone who drives along, say, Eglinton Avenue West, or who waits for a bus at the corner of Jane and Finch. (Get real! ed.) Anyone who watches the TV news reports of shootings in Toronto need only watch the video clips to know that the majority by far of victims of gang violence are black, as are the majority, again by far, of perpetrators.

Surprisingly though (I said, get real! ed.) this fact is not mentioned even once in the 2000-plus words of the Globe and Mail article. Nor is it mentioned in "Learning to cope in the city's new crime 'hot spot'", which appeared in Saturday's Toronto Star.

Why is this? Why will the media not acknowledge or even mention what everyone with his eyes even half-open knows?

How can one have any kind of meaningful analysis or discussion of what must be done to curb rising gang activity and gun violence without talking about one of the key issues which needs to be addressed?

It seems that political correctness prevents us from calling a spade a spade. Until the silent majority finds a voice, we can look forward to ever-increasing crime statistics and an ever higher cost to our (?) society.
