Further to our report on the outbreak of hostilities between Pakistan and Afghanistan, we pass along this shocking video, which reveals that British army officers -- the first one shown is a Scot, the second English -- are training the Afghan Taliban for combat!

 

We don't refer to this as "boot camp" becauase it appears that these soldiers of the Prophet have no boots. Perhaps, after the battle, they will be able to get some off the feet of the other soldiers of the Prophet. Good luck lads!

Muslim civil war flares up again

While we were preoccupied with ICE, Cuba, Epstein and other things closer to home, the followers of the Religion of Peace(TM), having tired (for the moment) of attacking Jews and Christians, have resumed attacking each other.

Pakistan's defence minister said yesterday the country is in "open war" with Afghanistan, after Islamabad launched airstrikes on Kabul as part of a wave of attacks across the country. "Our patience has now run out," said Khawaja Muhammad Asif following the attacks. 

The strikes came after the Afghan Taliban [You mean there's more than one Taliban? Ed.] announced a major offensive against Pakistani military posts near the border on Thursday night. Thanks to "Angry_Old_Man_2" at Blazing Cat Fur, we have a photo of Talibaners being trained for the assault.

The latest attacks follow months of clashes between the two neighbouring nations, despite agreeing last October to a ceasefire, which has proven to be more an idea than a reality.

UPDATED: Bondi Beach terrorists pledged allegiance to ISIS

It's just past 1400 FMT. Here's the latest information we have on the terrorists -- so described by the Anthony Albanese, Prime Minister of Australia -- responsible for the atrocity at Bondi Beach, near Sydney NSW, today. (Scroll down for our initial report, with video.) 

New South Wales Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon told the meeja a couple of hours ago that the investigation into the shooting has "progressed" overnight and confirms officers aren't looking for a further gunman. He said the two shooters involved were a father and son aged 50 and 24. The father died at the scene -- apparently shot by police -- while the son remains in hospital in critical condition.

In response to questions from journos, Insp. Lanyon said the "50-year-old male" (he said "father" only once) was a licenced firearms holder and had six firearms linked to him. The cops think those six firearms were used in the "offences" on Bondi Beach, he said, adding that he vows to investigate the matter thoroughly. 

Oh really? When asked whether the two shooters were known to the police and whether he will comment on reports that a black ISIS flag was found at the scene, the inspector said he wouldn't go into specifics or speculation. "We will look at the motives behind this attack and I think it is important as part of the investigation," he said, adding that there was no indication suggesting that either of the men involved in yesterday's shooting was planning the attack.

On really? Are we to believe that they just happened to be carrying six (count `em, 6) firearms -- as well as two "active improved devices"! -- as they went to see the Jews celebrate Hannukah on the world-famous beach? 

When asked for the names of the perps, which must have been known to the police in order to obtain search warrants and find out about the firearm licences, Inspector Lanyon declined to answer, saying that was part of the investigation.

But... woops!!!... someone said the quiet part out loud. Listen carefully.

For those who couldn't quite understand the bingo-caller's accent, here's the name and the sources. The Jerusalem Post reported that the 24-year-old, whose name is Naveed Akram is a Muslim man of Pakistani origin, who had studied at Central Queensland University in Sydney. He was also previously associated with Hamdard University in Islamabad and the Al Murad Institute. 

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), citing a law enforcement source, said Mr Akram was a resident of Sydney's south-western suburb of Bonnyrigg. Police raided his home on Sunday evening as part of the investigation. According to the Daily Mail, the Akram family has owned the Bonnyrigg property for about a year.

I think that's enough for us to run, once again, the same old South Park meme.

UPDATED 15/12/25 with report from Breitbart News: "Father-Son Duo Terror Suspects Reportedly Pledged Allegiance to ISIS Before Bondi Beach Attack - The suspected father and son terrorist duo who killed at least 15 during a Bondi Beach Hanukkah celebration on Sunday were previously investigated by Australian intelligence for ties to the so-called Islamic State, and ISIS flags were reportedly found in their car after the apparent antisemitic attack."

Taliban sponsors Olympic hockey team

In an effort to improve its image following the rather bloody ouster of the American invaders from Afghanistan, the Taliban have decided to sponsor an ice hockey team to play in the 2022 Winter Olympics, which will be held in Beijing.

"We think it's a good fit," said Hassan ben Sober, the Minister of Sport and Mayhem. "We want to do something to show our appreciation for Chinese support during our struggle against the Western crusaders, and it's well known that hockey is a sport in which trying to behead your opponents is not just tolerated but encouraged."

Since the new Taliban government has not been recognized by any Western government [Not even Canada? Ed.], the team will not be able to play under the name of Afghanistan, so will be nominally under the sponsorship of neighbouring Pakistan, and will be called the "Pakistan Raiders".

It's not entirely a fiction. Owing to a dearth of ice in Afghanistan, the team will hold its training camp in the Khyber Pass, well known for an abundance of snow and ice at this time of year.

"Obviously we've had to do everything in a hurry," said Mr ben Sober, "since the games are going to be held in February. We don't have time to build a team from scratch, so we're borrowing things from other countries which developed hockey programmes. Our sweaters, for instance, are in the colours of the Jamaican national team, which was so successful at bobsledding some years ago."

The Raiders are also importing players from friendly hockey-playing countries, such as Canada. There is a problem, though, with using players, like the one pictured, who are not old enough to grow a decent Islamic beard. "We hope that false beards and black greasepaint will do the trick," said Mr ben Sober, "to convince our opponents that we have real men playing for us... and also keep those fuzzy-cheeked boys from being too appealing to our own people."

"Allahu akbar!" near old Charlie Hebdo office. Terrorism suspected?

Did you think the jihadis would let the fifth anniversary of the Islamic terrorist attack at the offices of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo pass unobserved? Nosiree Mohammed! 

Reports reaching us this morning (Walt's time) say that a man wielding a machete or a meat cleaver [possibly a scimitar? Ed.] attacked and injured four people -- two seriously -- at the same site today. "At least" two people are said to have been arrested, one at the scene and one on the steps of the nearby Opera Bastille. 

No information about the suspects has been released, and the motivation for the attack has "yet to be determined", according to politically correct French government officials, but it's noteworthy that 14 of the suspects in the 2015 attacks at the Charlie Hebdo offices are currently on trial.

The attacks were supposed to be punishment, according to the will of Allah, for the magazine's publication of satirical cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed. This is a developing story. Walt will try to bring you an update as soon as the names of the radical Muslims [Hey, don't jump to conclusions! Ed.] have been released.

Further update from AP: French authorities now say they have taken seven people into custody after the stabbing outside the former offices of Charlie Hebdo, including the suspected assailant. And... wait for it... they have described the incident as an Islamic extremist attack! 

According to the French Interior Minister, the suspected assailant in Friday's stabbing had been arrested a month ago for carrying a screwdriver but for some reason was not on police radar for Islamic radicalization. The suspect arrived in France three years ago as an unaccompanied minor, apparently from Pakistan, but, the minister said, his identity iss still being verified. Might be one of those rare Pakistani Christians, you know!

Muslim woman kills, cooks boyfriend, serves remains with rice

Of course I should have added "allegedly" to the title, because the trial has yet to take place. Anyway... The National, "the Middle East's leading English-language news service" reports that prosecutors in the United Arab Emirates are alleging that a Moroccan woman killed her boyfriend, then butchered and cooked his body, then served his remains to Pakistani workers in a traditional Gulf rice and meat dish, similar to biryani, known as machboos.

The authorities in the emirate of Al-Ain arrested the woman on suspicion of killing her boyfriend of seven years after he told her of his plans to marry another from their country. Both the alleged cooker and the cookee are (or were) followers of the Prophet.

The Abu Dhabi-based news service reported that the man was killed three months ago, but that the crime only came to light recently, when the man's brother visited the couple's home in Al Ain to ask if the accused knew of his sibling's whereabouts. The woman denied knowing where he was and claimed to have kicked him out of their home. The brother then went to the police, who searched the home and found a human tooth inside the woman's blender. After DNA tests confirmed the tooth belonged to the missing man, the woman was arrested.

During questioning, the woman, whose age was not disclosed by police, first denied any involvement, but, after further questioning [using "enhanced interrogation techniques?" Ed.] admitted to killing the man during a moment of "insanity". She told police she wanted revenge for being dumped after seven years of providing financially for her lover.

After cutting up the man's body, his girlfriend allegedly asked a friend to help her dispose of the remains. She is said to have confessed that she used a blender to mince her former partner's flesh then cooked it with machboos, before serving it to a group of Pakistani workers who lived nearby. The woman's friend, however, said she did not witness the crime, but did notice blood stains in the woman's home.

Police and prosecutors told The National the woman would be brought to court after their investigation is complete.

All in the family: Islamic honour = "barbaric cultural practices"

From the Islamic Republic of Pakistan comes news of what local police are calling an "honour crime" -- the "revenge rape" of a 16-year-old girl in retribution for her brother's rape of another girl. (Reuters) - Pakistani police have arrested 25 members of an informal village council accused of ordering the rape of a 16-year-old girl as revenge for her brother's alleged sexual assault of another girl. But wait (as Vince Offer used to say), there's more. The first assailant's father is a brother of the second assailant's grandfather. So that's two rapes in two days, all in one extended family.

The rapes took place in a small village called Muzaffarabad, a suburb of the city of Multan, in Punjab province. Ahsan Younus, chief of Multan's police department, told the meeja, "They are victims and accused at the same time.... It’s barbaric."

As indeed it is. But the case is far from shocking. Such honour crimes still take place in some parts of Pakistan and India, and are not unknown in the USA and Canada, where "refugees" and other immigrants have brought the barbaric customs and practices of their native lands -- female genital mutilation, for example -- with them.

Earlier this month, a local council, known in local languages as a panchayat or jirga, was called after a family accused a 16-year-old boy of raping a 13-year-old neighbour. The council ruled that the sister of the boy should be handed over to the victim's brother to be raped. An eye for an eye, or in this case... well, never mind. The girl was duly handed over by her family, and the punishment was carried out on July 17th.

The case came to light a couple of days later, when both families filed criminal charges with police, each accusing the other family's son of rape. Questioning both sides in the cases soon revealed the role of the informal village council, according to Chief Younus. "All the village council elders who ordered the revenge rape have been arrested," he said. "A total of 29 people were involved in this ghastly crime, and we have 25 of them in our custody." Both the victims and their mothers have been sent to a women's protection center, he added, without explaining what would happen when the women eventually return to their village.

Latest despatches from the Muslim civil war

Ever wonder what happened to those cool German army helmets from WWII? The ones that inspired the design of present-day American military and police headgear? Well, the originals -- the ones that didn't get holes in them -- are still in use by the Pakistani army, as witness this picture of Pakistani troops watching each others' backs after a shootout with Islamic militants on the outskirts of Peshawar today. Security forces raided a militant hideout in the city before dawn, triggering a shootout in which three Pakistani Taliban were killed.

The raid on the Taliban hideout (of which the government was obviously aware) seems to have been in retaliation for a wave of suicide bombings and shootings which swept the border region next door to Afghanistan yesterday -- the last Friday of Ramadan. Twin blasts in the northwestern town of Parachinar had sent another 55 Muslims to Paradise, with many others in critical condition. Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, a Sunni Muslim extremist group, claimed responsibility for the bombings at a crowded market in the Shia-dominated town, linking them to the main theatre of the Muslim civil war in Syria.

Meanwhile, near the office of the provincial police chief in the southwestern city of Quetta, another 14 people were killed Friday in a suicide car bombing. That attack was claimed by ISIS and a breakaway Taliban faction. But wait (as Vince Offer used to say), there's more! In Pakistan's largest city, Karachi, gunmen attacked police officers at a roadside restaurant, killing four of them before fleeing, according to Inspector Mohammed. That brings the total death toll for one to... let's see... 55 + 14 + 4... carry the 1... 73! Quite something for a day of fasting and prayer.

The scene shifts now to Saudi Arabia, where (the Grauniad reports) Saudi security forces have foiled an Islamic terror plot targeting the Grand Mosque in Mecca and pilgrims heading there to celebrate the end of Ramadan.

An Interior Ministry spokesthingy told the meeja that security forces exchanged gunfire with one of the suspects, who blew himself up inside a home. Five security force members and six "other people" were injured, according to the state-owned Al-Arabiya website. Five people were arrested, including a woman suspected of attempting to drive a car.

Inspector Mohammed said the ministry "confirms that this terrorist network, whose terrorist plan was thwarted, violated, in what they would have perpetrated, all sanctities by targeting the security of the Grand Mosque, the holiest place on Earth. They obeyed their evil and corrupt self-serving schemes managed from abroad whose aim is to destabilize the security and stability of this blessed country."

The ministry did not name the group involved in the attack. The ultraconservative Sunni kingdom battled an Al-Qaeda insurgency for years and more recently has faced attacks from a local branch of ISIS.

The "racist" card isn't Trump any more

Following the Orlando massacre, Donald Trump called for a temporary ban on immigration from all places who support or tolerate the Islamic terrorists who have declared themselves the enemies of America and its allies. He didn't name any countries in particular, but Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Syria spring to mind, along with several others. What do these states have in common? Islam is their official religion, and they are governed by Muslims, some of them according to Sharia law.

For suggesting that it might be a good idea not to admit into the USA people who might have an axe to grind -- so to speak -- Mr Trump was immediately and stridently called a racist. Ho hum. Does that matter to anyone, in the light of what's happened in Orlando, San Bernardino, Paris, Brussels, etc etc? A growing number of Americans seem to be saying, "If this be racism, make the most of it."

At least, that's what Scott "Dilbert" Adams found when he did a little polling on Twitter today.

If I were Hellery Clinton, I wouldn't count on the racism card to be the ace of trumps any more.

Barbaric cultural (= religious = Muslim) practices

In the last session of Canada's 41st Parliament, the Conservative government of Steve "Call me Stephen" Harper passed the Zero Tolerance for Barbaric Cultural Practices Act, a law which proscribes, inter alia [That's enough Latin. Ed.] things like honour killings, forced marriage, and polygamy. Genital mutilation (aka female -- only -- circumcision) and sex-selective abortion were omitted because the neocon Tories were afraid to go there.

The barbaric cultural practices enumerated are more common in the Great Not-so-white North than you might think, largely because of the massive influx of immigrants, refugees, asylum-seekers etc from the Middle East and South Asia, parts of the world where non-Christian religions, particular Islam hold sway.

Since culture and religion are inextricably conjoined, we're really talking about barbaric religious customs that Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs cling to even after they find refuge in the nominally Christian West. The old saw "When in Rome, do as the Romans do," has no meaning for those who bring their religious and cultural baggage with them. That's why laws like the Zero Tolerance for Barbaric Cultural Practices Act are sadly necessary.

But you can't tell that to the bleeding-heart liberals, "progressive thinkers" and the hordes of lawyers and social workers getting rich forcing us to celebrate diversity. The ink was barely dry on the ZTBCPA [Got tired of writing it in full, eh? Ed.] before the chattering classes started denouncing it as Eurocentric, discriminatory, racist, yada yada yada.

The ZTBCPA is Islamophobic too, they tell us. Muslims aren't really barbaric, they tell us. As evidence to the contrary, Walt passes on a horror story from today's Guardian. Here's a photo of Sonia Bibi, a young Pakistani woman who died yesterday after a rejected suitor set her ablaze for refusing his marriage proposal.

Ms Bibi is ethnically Punjabi, a resident of the village of Multan, in the central Punjab district of Pakistan. She is, or was, a Muslim. So is Latif Ahmed, the former lover now accused of murdering her. She was admitted to hospital, where this picture was taken, last month.

Ms Bibi told police that she had fallen out of love with Mr. Ahmed, and preliminary investigations suggested he had set her on fire after she refused to marry him. Medical staff originally thought she would recover, but doctors told AFP yesterday that she had died after her injuries became infected.

What's disturbing about this case is that it's not unusual, at least not in Pakistan where hundreds of women are murdered every year in cases of domestic violence or on the grounds of defending family "honour". The Aurat Foundation, a campaign group that works to improve the lives of women in Pakistan's conservative and patriarchal society, says more than 3000 women have been killed in such attacks since 2008.

Such killings will doubtless continue, until Pakistan gets a Zero Tolerance for Barbaric Cultural Practices Act of its own. Chances of that happening? Slim and none! (Lifetime pct .989.)

"Culture of welcome" for refugees turns sour for Krauts

The flood of Muslim "refugees" which threatens to inundate Europe shows no signs of abating. One has to wonder what some European leaders -- hello Angela Merkel -- around the beginning of this month, when they opened the floodgates. Germany now looks on track to welcome over a million migrants this year, and the "Willkommenskultur" (culture of welcome) which Ms Merkel trumpeted is wearing a bit thin. In Germany, it seems, the milk of human kindness is starting to curdle.

One may ask why. [But does one have to ask? Ed.] Under the headline "Germany in a state of SIEGE", the UK's Daily Mail tells the story of one "refugee", Atif Zahoor by name, who wound up in the German university town of Giessen.

Mr. Giessen, his brother and his cousin, are Muslims. But they are not refugees fleeing religious persecution and/or civil war in Iraq or Syria or Yemen. No. They are from Pakistan, where they had good jobs. But they wanted to be Europeans, so, last July, seized the opportunity to slip into Germany, along with their wives [how many? Ed.] and children, using illegal documents.

"We paid a trafficking agent for false visas to fly here to Germany," Mr. Atif told the Daily Mail. "We claimed asylum and came to Giessen camp with other migrants. Three weeks ago, because we had families, they gave us a proper home." And a nice home it is, too. The three Pakistani Muslim families now live together in a five-bedroom house, courtesy of Chancellor Merkel and German taxpayers.

This week, Donald Tusk, President of the European Council, warned that millions more migrants are on their way and "the policy of open doors and windows" must be scrapped. British Prime Minister David Cameron said Europe must send failed asylum claimants back to their own countries. Walt says, good luck with that!

The same sentiment was voiced by the German deputy finance minister, Jens Spahn. "Not everyone can stay in Germany, or in Europe," said Herr Spahn. "If people are coming for poverty reasons...we have to send them back."

Walt asks how, exactly, the German and other European governments would do that. The USA has over 10,000,000 illegal migrants (at a conservative estimate) and even Donald Trump has to concede that, even if the political will to deport them was there [As if! Ed.], the cost would be staggering.

Meanwhile, back in das Vaterland, there is deepening disquiet. The German volk are starting to worry that their nominally Christian country, dotted with churches, is being overrun by people of a different religion and culture.

The Daily Mail reported on a letter written by social workers and women’s groups in Giessen to the state parliament, claiming that rape and child abuse were rife in the refugee camp. According to the letter, the camp is a dangerous melting-pot, where there have been "numerous rapes and sexual assaults, and forced prostitution." It goes on to say that there are even reports of children being raped and subjected to sexual assault.

Mr. Atif says the stories are true. "The camp is dangerous," he told the paper. "Men of different nationalities fight and women are attacked. Many women have felt the need to sleep in their clothes... They won’t go to the toilet at night because rapes and assaults have taken place on their way to, or from, there. Even in daylight, a walk through the camp is fraught with fear."

Many migrant women have fled here to escape forced marriages or female genital mutilation, which are rife in African and Middle Eastern countries where Islam is the religion and Sharia law the rule. "They believe they have found safety in Germany," says the letter, "and realize it’s not the case."

Why not? Why would these poor refugees, having found a safe haven at last, treat each other so? The letter suggests that in the migrants’ Muslim culture, women are viewed differently. "It is a fact that women and children are unprotected. This situation is opportune for those men who already regard women as their inferiors and treat unaccompanied women as 'fair game'."

If you ask the residents of Giessen, the problem goes way byond the allegations of rape and civil war in the refugee camps. Locals are also increasingly worried about the effect the "refugees" are having on their everyday lives. The migrants have taken over the town, some say.

The streets of Giessen, even of Berlin, are choked with "refugees" queuing up for housing, food and, errr, cash handouts. In spite of imposing "temporary" border controls earlier this month, Germany is still receiving asylum-seekers at the rate of 100 per hour. You can't miss the new arrivals, wandering the streets in large groups. At a supermarket a few hundred yards from the camp, a well-dressed German woman packing her shopping into a Mercedes rolls her eyes at me as a group of Middle Eastern youths walk by. "What do we do?" she asks. "It has happened now and it will never be the same again."

Indeed it won't. The doors of Germany are open, and can never be closed again. Back to Giessen for words from other Pakistani "refugees". A former student named Janaid Jamshad told the Daily Mail reporter, "When I lost my job, I set out with six friends. There is every nation in the camp — a lot from Pakistan, like me. I chose Germany because they want us here."

Another, identified only as "Ali", said, "I came to Germany first in 2013 and they pushed me out again.... I came back when I heard Mrs Merkel was opening the doors. I have claimed asylum and they are processing my application. Because I am young, I hope they will take me." But, he goes on, "The camp is overflowing.... I have just been to the doctor in the shopping centre because I have a headache. Even there, there are queues of migrants waiting. The doctors at the camp will only give one pill at a time."

Last word to goes to Mr. Atif. "We think having children will help us," he says. "Our house is very big, and they give us money, too. My children deserve a better life than in Pakistan. They will grow up happy in Germany."

Germans... Europeans... this is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday. When you tire of living in the Caliphate of Europe, perhaps you can get on a boat and come to North America. IF, that is, we have not ourselves been overrun because of the wussy, politically correct immigration policies of our leaders.

Peace on earth ???

It's been a quiet week and Walt has been preoccupied with things he considers important, like the funeral of Jean Béliveau (+RIP) and the price of crude. [I've been saying for a long time that there's an oversupply of crude. Ed.] There wasn't anything else about which I felt moved to write...so I didn't.

I did notice, however, that the committee of ultra-liberals that awards the Nobel Prize for Peace made yet another bunny-brained but ultra-PC decision, giving medallions, half-shares of 8,000,000 kronor (= £690,000 = $1,110,000 in real money) and a year's supply of Rice-a-roni to "child rights activist" Kailash Satyarthi of India and "child education activist" and prominent victim of Islamic extremism Malala Yousafzai of Pakistan.

Miss Yousafzai is a young Muslim woman and Mr. Satyarthi is an older Hindu male. They represent two nations, Pakistan and India, which have hated each other ever since Partition in 1947 and have actually gone to war two or three times within living memory...not counting the sectarian violence which killed millions at the time of Partition itself. Nice balance there. Got a bunch of boxes ticked.

Walt admits to not having heard of Mr. Satyarthi before. Who had? Miss Yousafzai, however, has been an object of adulation down at the pub for years, what with being one of Time's 100 Most Influential People, an honorary citizen of Canada, etc etc and so forth.

Would it be churlish to ask exactly what Miss Yousafzai has done to bring peace on earth? [Yes. Ed.] She has addressed the United Nations and many other august assemblies, received numerous degrees and other honours, shaken the hands of rulers spiritual and temporal. But what has she actually done?

As nearly as I can determine, her sole "accomplishment" so far in life was to be shot in the head -- by a fellow Muslim -- and live to talk about it. And talk and talk and talk.

Never let it be said, though, that the lack of any concrete achievement should disqualify her or anyone from consideration by the Nobel Prize committee. Why, only five years ago, the Peace Prize was awarded to one Barack Hussein Obama, who up to that point had done nothing more than get himself elected President of the Paranoid States of America.

The Prez accepted the prize in Oslo on 10 December 2009. In his acceptance speech, Mr. Obama said he was "surprised" and "deeply humbled" by the award. He stated that he does not feel he deserved the award, and that he did not feel worthy of the company the award would place him in. Cries of "Amen!" may well have been edited out of the video.

And what has the 2009 laureate done since for the cause of world peace? Unlike Malala, he didn't get shot by a fellow-Muslim. He did declare an end to the American occupation of Iraq, which finally took effect earlier this year. But then he reversed himself and ordered the beginning of yet another invasion and occupation, under way as we speak. Is the committee going to ask him to give his Peace Prize back? Errr, not likely. World peace remains an elusive goal. But Walt's for it! Peace on earth, I say! And if you don't believe in peace on earth, then peace on you!

Lesson for Pakistani lovers: don't marry without your parents' consent!

Now that Walt has have your attention... Here, courtesy of the online edition of The Telegraph, are horrific details of the "honour killing" of a young Pakistani couple, barely a week after they had married. Walt had this story on Saturday, but now we have a picture and some quotes from parties involved.

Sajjad Ahmed, 31, and Muafia Bibi, 17, were deeply in love, so decided to marry against the wishes of the girl's parents, who disapproved of Ahmed because he was from an inferior tribe. Residents of the town of Satrah said relatives of Ms Bibi had told the couple they supported the marriage and invited them to the town, where they were drugged.

Muhammad Ijaz, who runs a mobile phone shop, said, "Their legs and arms were tied while their mouths were gagged with pieces of cloth. The father of the girl announced loudly that he was going to slit the throat of her daughter and her husband."

A crowd gathered as they were brought to the courtyard of the family house. Someone said the children should be sent away, but, according to Ijaz, Ms Bibi’s father told them to stay and watch. "He said they should learn what would happen to them if they married someone of their own choice."

The town's police chief, Muhammad Knacker [Ed., check name please] told reporters "It is a case of honour killing. The couple were not beheaded, but were killed with the knives and had severe signs of torture on their heads."

Satrah is close to the city of Sialkot in a Punjabi area known for its conservative customs, where women have little value beyond their worth as a bride. Honour killings are nothing new in Pakistan. Hundreds go unnoticed every year, written off as domestic accidents or suicides. As reported on WWW, nearly 2.4 women were reported killed every day in 2013, but the real number may be much higher.

Why is Walt telling you these horror stories? Because, dear gentle readers in America, Britain and Canada, these people are coming to your country in droves, as immigrants or "refugees". They bring with them not just their physical baggage but their cultural baggage as well, including Sharia law and honour killings.

For the sake of political correctness [not to mention the vizmins' votes! Ed.] our governments are importing barbarism and Islamic extremism. Is that what you want for your country? No?! Then why do you sit silently while your country is being overrun?!

Nearly 2.4 "honour killings" in Pakistan EVERY DAY

Pakistan's Human Rights Commission recently stated that 869 so-called "honour killings" were reported in the media last year. That's 2.38 per a day. But, the Commision says, the true figure is probably much higher since many cases are never reported.

Here's an example of what Pakistani Muslims consider a matter of "honour". A few days ago, a young couple in the village of Satrah were tied up and had their throats slit with scythes. Why? Because they married for love!

The 17-year-old girl and 31-year-old man married on June 18th without the consent of their families. Very misfortunate for them that the girl's family considered the groom unsuitable because he was a member of a "less important tribe". According to police, the girl's mother and father lured the couple home late Thursday, promising that their marriage would receive a family blessing. When the couple reached home, the girl's father cut their throats.

Since this happened in a Punjabi area of Pakistan, it's possible the victims and perps might have been Sikhs, but nooooo, they were Muslims. The reports in the PC lamestream press gloss over this, saying only that "cultural traditions" in many areas of Pakistan mean that killing a woman whose behaviour is seen as immodest is widely accepted. The people's false religion -- an integral part of any culture -- has nothing to do with it!

What is "immodest behaviour"? For a woman to marry a man of her own choice is considered an unacceptable insult by many families. So is singing, looking out of the window or talking to a man who is not a relative.

Pakistani law means that even if a woman's killer is convicted, her family is able to forgive the killer. Many families simply nominate a member to do the killing, then formally forgive the killer. That's what happened earlier this week, when a tribal council in Muzaffargarh district sentenced another young couple to death for marrying for love.

The couple's lawyer said the two had appealed for police protection after their marriage on June 21st, but had not received any. The 19-year-old girl's family came to take her from her husband's family, swearing on the Qu'ran that they would not harm her and would hold a proper wedding ceremony, he said. "During this the girl shouted, cried and mourned for her life and her husband's life because she knew that they will kill both of them."

The girl was shot by a member of her family when she returned home, police said. Her husband went into hiding and her father registered the murder complaint so he could forgive the killer. "That will end the case," concluded the lawyer.

Husband of woman stoned to death killed his first wife, cops say

Yesterday's story about the "honour killing" of a Pakistani woman by a mob of her family and friends -- including her father -- gets crazier. Farzana Bibi (aka Iqbal) was bludgeoned to death Tuesday in the eastern city of Lahore by family members who were enraged that she had married "the man she loved" -- Muhammad Iqbal -- of whom they did not approve.

Today police allowed that perhaps Farzana's family had good reason to disapprove, since her new husband hadn't divorced his first wife. Instead, he murdered her. Police spokesthingy Zulfiqar Hameed said that Iqbal, was arrested after the 2009 killing, but the charge against him was withdrawn because he was forgiven by a family member. According to Pakistani law -- a modified form of Sharia law -- that makes it OK!

Iqbal did not respond to repeated requests for comment from AP, but two of his cousins said he had been forgiven by one of his sons for the killing.

Although unwilling to discuss the 2009 killing, Iqbal criticized police for their failure to intervene in this week's stoning on the street outside the Lahore High Court. "I begged [police] to help us," Muhammad Iqbal told Reuters. "I took off my shirt [to be humble] and begged them to save her, but they said 'This is not our duty.'"

Pakistan is a nation of 180 million people, the overwhelming majority of whom are Muslims. According to their culture and religion, women are expected to agree to arranged marriages and refusal can mean an "honour killing", since many Pakistani families think it dishonourable for a woman to fall in love and choose her own husband. Farzana's family had chosen a partner for her -- a cousin -- but she preferred Iqbal. Whether she knew the fate of his first wife is unknown.

Police said her father, two brothers and a former fiancé [the cousin? Ed.] were among attackers. Muhammad Aurangzeb, Farzana's 20-year-old stepson -- Muhammad Iqbal is his father -- described how one relative tried to shoot her, then grabbed her head scarf, causing her to fall over. [Another good reason not to wear a hijab or niqab. Ed.]

While a member of Iqbal's party tried to wrest the gun away, a female cousin grabbed a brick and hit Farzana with it, Aurangzeb said. "She was screaming and crying 'Don't kill me! We will give you money!" said Iqbal. He said he tried to save her but the mob of more than 20 beat him back.

At one point, six people were beating her with bricks as she screamed, he said, and he and his stepson begged police to help. Finally she stopped screaming...because she was dead. All the suspects, except Farzana's father, have disappeared. The father said he gave himself up to police without fear of being prosecuted, since killing his daughter was a matter of honour.

Muslim woman stoned to death at courthouse door by her own family

This isn't the first time Walt has posted a story about the killing of women by Muslims -- or Sikhs or Hindus, but usually Muslims -- in the name of "family honour", but never before have I seen such an egregious example. Today's story comes from Lahore, Pakistan, where the father, brothers and former fiancé of Farzana Bibi, aged 30, killed her with sticks and bricks on the steps of the high court. Why? For marrying against their wishes, thus besmirching the family's "honour".

Ms Bibi's parents accused her husband, Muhammad Iqbal, of kidnapping her, and had filed a case against him at the High Court. However, police said the couple had been engaged for "a number of years", and that she had told them she had married him of her own accord. As she arrived at the court building for a hearing, police said about a dozen family members pulled her aside and began to attack her and her husband, who managed to escape.

Inspector Muhammad Knacker [Ed., please check name] told Reuters that all the family members escaped after the killing, apart from her father, Muhammad Azim, who waited on the courthouse steps for the police to arrive, and admitted his role his daughter's death.

In the BBC's report of the story, Shumaila Jaffery says marriage against the wishes of relatives is culturally unacceptable in some parts of Pakistan. Under Pakistani law -- a version of Sharia law -- the victim's family is allowed to forgive the killer. However, in many cases family members are themselves responsible for the killing.

Arranged marriages are the norm among conservative Muslim Pakistanis, and hundreds of women are known to be murdered every year in so-called honour killings carried out by husbands or relatives as a punishment for alleged adultery or other illicit sexual behaviour. Many more cases go unreported, indeed unnoticed. Stonings in public settings, however, are extremely rare. Tuesday's attack took place in broad daylight on a busy downtown street, before a crowd of onlookers who were reportedly more curious than horrified.

Iqbal said he started seeing Parveen after the death of his first wife, with whom he had five children. "We were in love," he told Associated Press, "but her family wanted to fleece money from me before allowing her to marry, so I simply took her to court and registered a marriage."

The bride's father called his daughter's murder an "honour killing". A police spokesthingy quoted him as saying, "I killed my daughter as she had insulted all of our family by marrying a man without our consent, and I have no regret over it."

Note from Ed.: I hope you're not expecting a video. Even if I had found one -- yes, I did look -- I wouldn't show it. Some things are just too much, even for WWW. However, I did come across an interview -- part of the "Canadian Dream" series on CBC News -- with Dr. Amin Muhammad, a professor of psychology. He explains the motive for what the interviewer calls this "brutal cultural import".

Why do Muslim fanatics keep killing Christians? Isn't it obvious?

Maybe not. People like John Kerry and his Prez keep saying it's all a big misunderstanding, and we should try to "make nice" with the "moderate Muslims". See "Catholic commentator on Obama's dangerous attitude to Islam". Presumably that would included Mohammed Mursi, since deposed from his position as Egypt's head of state, and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani -- this month's great white hope. [Is this right? Ed.]

About the same time President Rouhani was telling the United Nations how much his country wants to be reconciled to the West, Islamic extremists two countries to the east -- that would be Pakistan -- were exploding bombs at All Saints (Anglican) church in Peshawar. The death toll in that attack now stands at well over 100, with a like number injured and maimed. And just today BBC News reports another bomb attack in Peshawar, this time on a polio clinic. A polio clinic!

Why do the followers of "the religion of peace" -- that's what "Islam" means -- do this? See "Fanatical Muslim imams preach jihad against non-believers" And consider the explanation given by Most Rev. Joseph Coutts, the Archbishop of Karachi. It's simple, he says. They hate the West, and America -- "the great Satan" -- in particular. And to them, all Christians (American or otherwise) are identified with the west.

In an interview with Vatican Radio, Abp. Coutts linked the actions of NATO forces in Afghanistan to the persecution of Christians in Pakistan. "The problem is the increasing intolerance and the perception, in general, among the Muslims is that the Christians are identified with the West. There’s a lot of anger among Muslims, especially over the drone attacks."

The lesson should be clear, then, even to the dullards who inhabit Foggy Bottom. As long as the West (and America in particular) keeps meddling in the affairs of the Middle East and the Maghreb, we can expect attacks on Christians -- westerners and non-westerners alike -- to continue. Ron Paul is right.

Islamic extremists don't discriminate; they kill anyone and everyone

Walt has given up keeping score -- too many games in progress -- but notes two more massacres in Africa and Asia, and that's just within the last 24 hours.

As if the body counters in Pakistan weren't busy enough with last weekend's bombing outside an Anglican church (not forgetting this week's earthquake) they now have to hustle back to Peshawar, where twin blasts killed 33 people and wounded 70 today.

Although no-one has claimed responsibility for today's bombings, the style of the massacre -- suicide bombs exploded near a mosque and a crowded market -- is SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for the Taliban. In case no-one noticed, Reuters tells us "Islamist violence has been on the rise in Pakistan in recent months, undermining Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's efforts to tame the insurgency by launching peace talks with the Taliban."

Reuters also quotes "one woman in a long headscarf" ["niqab" surely. Ed.] as wailing "Who is burning Peshawar, who is burning Peshawar?" Answers on the back of a postage stamp to Mr. Nawaz Sharif, Islamabad, Pakistan.

Meanwhile, in the most dangerous country in Africa [By whose account? Ed.] Islamist gunmen have attacked the Yobe State College of Agriculture in northeastern Nigeria, killing 44 students, or maybe it was 50. Casualty figures vary, but a local politician told the BBC that two vanloads of bodies had been taken to a hospital in the state capital.

The students were shot dead as they slept in their dormitory. Yobe state and most of northern Nigeria is under a state of emergency because of an insurgency by the Boko Haram group of Islamic fundamentalists.

They are fighting (so they say) to overthrow Nigeria's government and create an Islamic state. To this end, they've been attacking schools which teach "unIslamic things", regardless of whether the students are Muslims or "infidels". This, they say, will somehow weaken the Great Satan -- the USA -- and thus... well, as with most of what happens in Africa, the point is unclear.

Walt notes, however, that the majority of victims of today's mass killings were (probably) Muslims. Which proves that the Islamic fundamentalists are not anti-Christian, as many say. Well, not just anti-Christian. Seems as if they're against anyone and everyone who isn't Islamic enough.
