Walt is still trying to figure out how the American-Israeli war against Iran and Lebanon is going to end. But will end... somehow... and likely on terms more favourable to our interests than those of our Islamist enemies. Objectively you'd have to call that a "win" than anything else.

You wouldn't know it, though, to listen to the liberal lickspittle media, who are doing their damnedest to paint the current impasse as a loss for President Trump. They can't explain what's actually unfolding in Iran, let alone the behind-closed-doors talks in Pakistsan, so they swing wildly between calling POTUS a "warmonger" and "weak", trotting out the ridiculous "TACO" jape.

The reality points to an Iranian regime that's been militarily and strategically crippled. Adversaries like Russia and China are feeling the ripple effects, and NATO’s cracks are on full display. Victor Davis Hanson takes the long... and more positive view.

Another day, another transsexual mass shooting

From the frozen wastes of the Great No-longer-white North, Agent 3 reports that the Canajan lickspittle meeja were so busy downplaying the chosen gender identity of the tranny who mudered 9 people (including his mother and himself) in Tumbler Ridge BC, that it completely omitted to report a similar mass shooting which occurred yesterday in Rhode Island.

In Pawtucket RI (home of the Pawtucket Patriot Ale), a gunperson who was born male but identified as a woman killed two people and injured three others at a high school hockey match at the Dennis M. Lynch Areana, before turning the gun on himself.

According to local police chief, 56-year-old, the birth name of the shooter was Robert Dorgan, but "We have also learned that the person does go by the name of Roberta and also uses the last name of Esposito."

Mr/Ms/Whatever Dorgan, believed to have been the father of one of the hockey players, sat at the back of the stands on the home team's side during the hockey match before moving to the front and opening fire on four family members and one family friend. He/she/whatever died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The mother of a student hockey player died inside Lynch Arena, while her child died later at the hospital. Three victims were in critical condition as of last night.

The motive has not been officially established, but police believe it was a targeted shooting that stemmed from a family dispute. Police have not identified the victims, but a different official source told Fox News that the gunman killed his wife and shot three of his children. The similarity with the mass murder in Canada is notable. Not that all transsexuals don't gert along with their families, of course, but... just sayin'.

Another similarity with the Canadian story is the reluctance of the American controllede media to inform their audiences that the shooter was a transsexual. The ultra-liberal-left New York Times, for example, spends 800 words without using the word. The only clue their five (count `em, 5) reporters give us is the quote from the police chief.

Why is the NYT so diffident? Breitbart's John Nolte says that their "lie of omission" of the unpleasant fact -- he calls it "as good as spreading disinformation" --  is due to their desperate desire not to offend their shrinking subscriber base, which (he says) "is made up mostly of intolerant leftists who will cancel their subscription should the Times begin to report truths that make them in any way uncomfortable.

"New York Times readers 1) don’t want to be exposed to anything that makes them uncomfortable, 2) do not want facts published that go against leftist narratives, and 3) do not want the Times to publish any truth that might hurt the leftist cause."

Of course the NYT is not the only media outlet turning a blind eye to the painful truth. Forget about the mainstream media. Before drinking their liberal Kool-Aid [Yes, we know it was actually "Flavor Aid". Ed.] check alternative sources... like WWW. The truth is out there. You just have to look for it.

Walt reviews the Not-so-great Debate: SSDD

Yeah, I watched it -- all of it -- the made-for-TV event that the legacy media talking heads called, even before it started, "the first and probably the only" debate between President Trump and Vice-President Harris. They were that scared that the Cackler was going to crash and burn. She didn't.

[Is that it? We need at least 500 more words. Ed.] OK. Please understand that I'm doing this, deliberately, before reading or listening to any commentary from anywhere, not even Breitbart. My unvarnished, uninfluenced opinion is that the Great Debate was just Sturm und Drang -- full of sound and fury signifying nothing. In in other words: SSDD -- Same Shit Different Day.

We were told by the lickspittle media that the event would be a good chance for Ms Harris to let the public get to know her, and, more importantly, put forward some policy ideas, of which her campaign had been noticeably bereft. I heard exactly two.

For the first 20 minutes or so, she was visibly and audibly nervous, but she did manage to trot out two promises: a tax break or grant or something of $6000 for new families, and some kind of financial support for small business. She didn't say whether a start-up would have to pass the DEI test to get the help. But she made both promises twice, so maybe that counts as four. I don't know.

After that, Ms Harris got more comfortable, cackling only once, although to be fair it was more like a giggle. She defaulted to her role as prosecutor, determined to make hard the way of the Orange Transfressor.

She trotted out all the lies, all the canards, all the rumours, all the innuendo she could think of or was programmed to say. It was all there: J6 - born with a silver spoon - Charlottesville - Project 2025 - national abortion ban - responsible for wards in Afghanistan and Ukraine - and (of course) "convicted felon".

All untrue or partly true, but neither of ABC's totally biased moderators was going to fact-check her, as they tried to do with President Trump. But the strategy was clear: throw as much mud as you can at the Orange Man and make him scrape it off. 

And it worked. Mr Trump took the bait every time, and was so busy defending himself that he didn't land any heavy blows on his opponent. When he did come close, on the abortion issue for instance, the obviously biased moderators answered on the Cackler's behalf.

The first rebuttal came from Linsey Davis, the one wearing white-face makeup. After Mr Trump said some Democrats support executing babies after they are born, Ms Davis replied, "There is no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it’s born," which is not what Mr Trump said, not at all. Ms Davis then quickly changed the subject, moving on to the next question.

The immoderate moderator David Muir intervened more times than did Ms Davis. It was he, not Ms Harris, who pushed back on Trump’s claim that Haitian migrants are eating dogs in Springfield OH. [Aha! Now we know what that meme was about! Ed.] Mr Muir said ABC News had looked into the claim, and had been told by Springfield's City Manager that "there have been no credible reports of specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community." 

That's what politicians, bureaucrats, and sports referees always say about inconvenient truths, "Well, we didn't see it." To which normal people reply, "Are you fucking blind?!" Mr Trump was more polite, saying only "I've seen people on television."

In another exchange, Mr Muir told President Trump, "The FBI says overall violent crime is actually coming down in this countr." Mr Trump said that claim was "fraud", just like the Democrats' inflated numbers of jobs created, and deflated numbers of illegal immigrants ruining the country. 

On that point... Walt's greatest disappointment was Mr Trump's failure -- he was too busy swatting away the moderator flies -- to ask the Cackler if, in her time as Border Czar, she ever once visited the border. I'd like to have heard her (or Mr Muir) answer that one.

Mr Muir also tackled President Trump's assertion that the 2020 election was stolen from him. Mr Muir offered a "clarification", saying that Mr Trump and his allies brought some 60 lawsuits and "many" judges said "there was no widespread [sic] fraud." So that's OK then.

On behalf of Ms Harris, Mr Muir also asked about a recent comment in which Mr Trump said he "lost by a whisker." President Trump replied that he made the comment "sarcastically, you know that." Mr Muir said he watched the videos and "I didn’t detect the sarcasm." Again, normal people might say otherwise.

But Mr Muir wouldn't give up. He passed the ball to the wide received, saying to Ms Harris, "You heard the President there tonight. He said he didn’t say that he lost by a whisker. So he still believes he did not lose the election that was won by President Biden and yourself." 

President Trump appeared to want to move. "We have so many facts and statistics, but you know what? That doesn’t matter, because we have to solve the problem that we have right now. That’s old news." And so it was. SSDD.

In summary, last night President Trump marched into the lions' den, the Dimocratic stronghold of Philthydelphia, to do battle with a well-coached opponent (fresh from a week in debate camp), whose only strategy (honed to perfection by the late Great Democrat LBJ) was to tear him apart. 

The Cackler was assisted by not one but two clearly biased moderators, who actually competed with her to see who could land the knock-out blow. Despite the 3-to-1 odds, President Trump emerged largely unscathed. The only damage done was to the principles of fair debate and free speech.

"Kamala Harris has no flavor"

So says Rich Lowry, Editor-in-chief of the National Review, in "Kamala Harris Is Wafer Thin", 21/8/24. Absent permission to repost the entire article, we hope Mr Lowry won't mind us quoting these key passages.

It is appropriate that Kamala Harris is from the town of Oakland, Calif., of which it was famously said there was no there there. 

It is hard to think of another presidential nominee who has felt so utterly superficial — not as a campaign tactic, but as a reality. She has no flavor. 

She’s woke but doesn’t embrace being woke; her policies are socialistic although she’s not a self-declared socialist; she’s a tough law-and-order prosecutor, except when she’s not. 

She’s not a party institutionalist like Bob Dole, finally rewarded with his party’s nomination after decades of service, or a “maverick” like John McCain, who, after years being in the wilderness, finally won over his party (temporarily). 

Of course, she’s not a Bill Clinton, who rose from relative obscurity based on his unbelievable verbal acuity, charm, and shamelessness that could see him through any fix or scandal. 

No, Kamala Harris feels thin, fragile, and manufactured. The Democrats and their media allies have had the unity and discipline, so far, to pull off a feat that few would dare attempt: to topple a sitting president and create a political phenomenon out of the thinnest of reeds.

Back in the daze, Doonesbury creator Garry Trudeau (no relation) used to depict President Bush  as an askterisk * with nothing behind it. 

Walt thinks that would be highly appropriate for the Cackler.

"Drill, baby, drill!". "Close our borders!" - Trump acceptance speech VIDEO

For some time now, Walt has been thumping the drum for the re-election of the 45th President of the United State, Donald J. Trump, as POTUS No. 47. Tonight, the penultimate step on the path back to the Oval Office was taken as Citizen Trump formally accepted nomination as the nominee of the Republican Party at their convention in Milwaukee WI.

The TV coverage was awful. The leftie talking heads on NBC (terrible, terrible) or PBS (worse still) had their ultra-liberal, anti-Trump bias on full display. (I didn't check ABC or CBS because they didn't carry the convention, atleast not our neck of the woods.) They disparaged President Trump before and after he spoke. [Well, not exactly. NBC cut to Jimmy Kimmel 40 minutes or so before the end of Mr Trump's speech. Ed.] 

They couldn't didn't say so much during the warm-up acts, which consisted of a parade of the Donad's friends (e.g. Hulk Hogan) and family (e.g. Eric Trump), paying tribute to him, almost to the point of deification. (He was blessed by Franklin Graham.) Kind words were also said by a union leader, an e-stripper, a granddaughter, a talk show host and of course, a good many politicos.

Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White called Trump "a real American bad ass." Kid Rock performed a song with the chorus, "Fight, fight!" And the great wrestling icon described him as "an American hero." Watching from his box overlooking the stage, President Trump may have even felt like he was witnessing his own celebration of life -- an appropriate video montage was shown -- and perhaps had some disturbing thoughts about how close the event was to being just that.

Thus it was no surprise when President Trump opened with, "I am not supposed to be here tonight. I’m not supposed to be here." The SRO crowd shouted back, "Yes you are!" But he insisted otherwise. "Thank you. But I’m not. I stand before you in this arena only by the grace of almighty God. Many people say it was a providential moment." Here's the full video. 

 

President Trump started off in "unity-candidate" mode. He invoked "confidence, strength and hope" before formally accepting the Republican nomination. Mending division was a theme that surfaced throughout his 90-plus minutes at the podium. (How long, one wonders, could the incumbent have held forth. Ten minutes? Five?) "I am running to be president for all of America, not half of America, because there is no victory in winning for half of America."

From there, it was on to a remix of President Trumps standard talking points, albeit more subdued than in times past. Iran sanctions, border enforcement, inflation, trade deals, the cost of energy, oil, tax cuts, infrastructure, the EV mandate, the auto industry, illegal migration. Routine topics. But the snappy taglines weren’t as present, and the name-calling had gone from boil to simmer. He spoke Biden's name only twice, instead referring to "that person", "the other guy", "this administration" and "our opponents".

His speech also avoided any direct reference to President Trump's more controversial governing plans and favourite topics, including the 2020 election, the "deep state", the events of January. 6th and his plans to deport millions of immigrants in the country illegally. Reading over my notes, I took the two main themes to be: 

* eneregy self-sufficiency, which he expressed as "Drill, baby, drill!", meaning to unlock the deep pool of "liquid gold" on which America sits. America, he said, could even become an exporter of energy. More energy -- from oil and gas, not the greenscam kind -- will mean lower prices, more jobs and a better economy "than ever before."

* strong, closed borders. "Close our borders!", he said. And start "from Day One" deporting the millions of illegal aliens who are responsible for rising crime rates, cities which aren't safe to live in, and the depletion of social security and healthcare resources. Getting rid of those people, Mr Trump said, would reduce homeless and crime, making America safe once again.

Sounds like a sound platform to me. Raise your hands, all those who do not want the US of A to be prosperous and safe, with a future that is secure for our children and grandchildren! Anybody? Make America Great Again! 

How the liberal media deals with stories about black crime

The Eclipse Day celebrations of Mother Earth, the climate crisis and suchlike nonsense were eclipsed [Geddit? Ed.] in the Florida panhandle by a news story about someone who was so moonstruck or sunstruck or whatever that she decided to go on a shooting spree. Here's a photo of a car which was damaged in the incident.

That's the photo chosen by Canada's Global TV to illustrate the report on their website's landing page. And here (below) is the first three paragraphs of their report.

"A 22-year-old woman from Georgia was arrested for allegedly going on a shooting spree on the day of the solar eclipse and telling people that God told her to do it. Taylon Nichelle Celestine faces charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery for the Monday shootings. 

"She is accused of injuring two people after opening fire on vehicles travelling Interstate 10 through northern Florida. One victim was shot in the neck and is currently in the hospital receiving treatment. The other was grazed on the arm by a bullet. 

"Before the incident, Celestine allegedly checked out of a local hotel and told staff there that she was 'going on a shooting spree, directed by "God" in relation to the solar eclipse,' Florida Highway Patrol wrote in a statement. No other details about motives were provided in the statement."

Based on that information, a lot of readers might have jumped to the conclusion that Ms Celestine is a crazy black woman, but of course the liberal mainstream media wouldn't want to confirm any such suspicion. 

That is likely why they refrained from publishing the mug shot at the left, which found its way into the not-very-liberal New York Post.

Why wouldn't they show us what the accused looks like? For the same reason that the lickspittle media don't (unless forced), identify criminals with "black names", e.g. Velveeeta Taneesha Jones.

What really burns my ring, though, is when the story gives a description of a wanted person like "Female, 5", 150 lbs, with dreadlocks" -- omitting any reference to colour -- and then concludes, "Anyone with further information about the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call the Police or Crimestoppers." LMAO.
