Climate Barbie apologizes for tweet praising Syria

Following Walt's posting of "Canuck Minister tells The Rebel to stop calling her names" (WWW 4/11/17 - includes video), Ezra Levant, whose The Rebel website coined the name by which Catherine McKenna would prefer not to be known tweeted: "Appointed to fill a gender quota; unable to control her emotions when criticized; spends taxes on vanity photo shoots. #ClimateBarbie fits."

His point is not that Ms McKenna, like Chrystia Freeland, is one of the terminally entitled limousine liberals who gets her hair colour out of a bottle and any ideas which may temporarily reside in her head from the Toronto Red Star. The problem is that Climate Barbie is a classic example of the Peter Principle. The Peter Principle (by Laurence J. Peter and Raymond Hull, 1969), for those who haven't read it, states that people rise in an organization until they reach the level of their incompetence. Ms McKenna, now nominally in charge of one of the more sensitive portfolios in the Canadian cabinet, has actually risen above that level.

Yesterday, taking a break from defending herself for defending herself, the Climate Barbie was forced to admit that "clearly a mistake was made" after a tweet from her official departmental account praised Syria for joining the Paris climate agreement. The tweet has since been deleted, but we have a screen shot. Here 'tis.

Nicaragua and Syria were the final two countries to sign on to the climate accord, leaving the United States as the only UN member state not supporting the agreement. The tweet attracted dozens of complaints from other Twitter users, many of them pointing to the widely suspected use of chemical weapons by the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The celebratory Nicaragua and Syria tweet was sent from @ec_minister. Its description says it is run by Environment and Climate Change Canada, Parks Canada and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency. Ms McKenna tweeted her response to the controversy from her personal account, @cathmckenna. "Clearly a mistake was made from my Dept twitter. We've been clear that the murderous Assad regime must end attacks against its people."

Well, maybe we're being a bit hard on Climate Barbie. Surely it's a bit unfair to ask the Minister of Stopping the Sky from Falling to take responsibility for communications sent out by the minions under her... errr... control. Walt suggests that in future she delegate adverse comments (along with whines about being called names) upwards to her boss, the self-proclaimed feminist Junior Trudeau. He's good at apologies, and totally undeserving of his rep for being a bit of an airhead himself.

VIDEO UPDATE: 5 naked people arrested in Alberta car crash

Note from Ed.: I adapted the following story from an article with the same headline on the Global News website. I hope Global won't mind. There was nothing I or Walt could add that would make it any better, except maybe for a picture... Oh c'mon, you didn't really expect a photo, did you?

UPDATE ADDED 8/11/17 - We still don't have photos, but we do have VIDEO (albeit with the naughty bits blurred out...damn!) from a CTV newscast. Here 'tis. Turns out there's more to the story too. See update below the video.

Five people, who were not wearing any clothes, have been arrested following a two-vehicle crash in Nisku, Alberta, on Monday. The RCMP said it happened on Township Road 510 at around 9:45 a.m. Nisku is about a 30-minute drive south of Edmonton.

Sergeant Knacker of the Mounties said four women and one lucky man, all from one of the vehicles and all naked at the time, were taken to hospital and are in police custody. At the time of the crash, the temperature was about -8 C (about 18 F) in Nisku.

The Leduc general investigation section, forensic identification section, criminal collision investigation team and the collision analyst were all working on the file.

The Mounties said the investigation was "convoluted" and still in its infancy. However, they believe the collision was not accidental, and that drugs and alcohol could be factors in the collision.

UPDATE ADDED 8/11/17 - In a statement on Tuesday, the Mounties said three people -- a man, a woman and a newborn baby -- were forced from a home in Leduc County and into a vehicle. The man was stuffed into the vehicle’s trunk but somehow managed to escape. The woman and infant also managed to flee. That's when a truck driver passing through the area spotted the three and picked them up.

Derek Scott of LPH Industrial, speaking in the video, says it was his employee who came to their rescue. After they got into the truck, RCMP said another vehicle purposefully rammed the truck. The force of the collision pushed the truck into a ditch. The horsemen arrested five suspects: a man, two women and two female minors. All five were naked when they were taken in to custody. Kidnapping charges are pending against the three adults, RCMP said. The two youths have since been released.

The thick plottens! What kind of people go on a kidnapping mission
naked in below freezing weather? Would Canadians do that? Errr, maybe... but let's not jump to contusions. Walt will bring you the bare facts when all is revealed in court!

Canuck payouts to terrorists set to rise to C$50 million this year

Meet Djamel Ameziane, a pretty smart Algerian guy who's discerned the path to financial freedom. He aims to follow in the footsteps of his co-religionists (= Muslims) Omar Khadr, Muayyed Nureddin, Abdullah Almalki, and Ahmad Elmaati, each of whom has been enriched to the tune of over C$10,000,000 (nearly $7.9 million in real money) by the Canadian government (read: Canadian taxpayers) in settlements arising from their completely unjustified treatment at the hands of US and Canadian military and security agencies.

In spite of having been found guilty of the murder of Sgt. Chris Speer, Mr Khadr got over C$10 million in a settlement which made even members of the pro-Islamist Liberal Party of Justin "Junior" Trudeau squirm. See "Canuck ministers struggle to defend payout to Muslim terrorist", WWW 7/7/17 (includes video).

Last month, the other three Muslim Canadians became instant multimillionaires, who M Trudeau said had been "wrongfully accused of links to terrorism and tortured in Syria and Egypt" after being fingered by the Mounties and Canada's alleged spy agency. See the footnote following "The irreversible browning of Canada", WWW 26/10/17 and "Canadians rightfully angry after Ottawa pays $31.25M to men falsely imprisoned in Syria", Global News, 26/10/17 (includes video). [I should've made that a separate post. Ed.]

Mr Ameziane is no dummy. Although he was never charged with anything or convicted of anything, he did some time at Gitmo, so, with four precedents to bolster his claim, he lawyered up and ran quickly to get to the courthouse door, where this morning he filed suit for not 10, not 20, but 50 million beaverbucks, for violation of his rights. His statement of claim alleges that Canada's security services co-operated with their American counterparts even though they knew the Americans were abusing him.

M Ameziane's lawyer said the Canuck government's recent out-of-court settlement with Omar Khadr over violation of his rights has prevented scrutiny of Canada's alleged complicity in abuses at Guantanamo Bay. All his client seeks, the ambulance-chaser said, is an enquiry, so "the Canadian public can come to understand the extent to which Canada is responsible for the torture of innocent detainees in the aftermath of 9/11."

An enquiry, yes, and financial compensation, of course. "My current situation is really bad, I am struggling to survive," M Ameziane told Canadian Press from his home in Algeria. "I was repatriated from Guantanamo and left like almost homeless. I couldn’t find a job because of the Guantanamo stigma and my age, so a settlement would be very helpful to me to get my life back together."

Let's do the math. In excess of C$40,000,000 has been paid out to four Islamists... so far. Let's suppose that M Ameziane gets the same payout as the four who have gone before him. That would bring the total to over C$50,000,000. And even as I write, other claimants are coming forward. There is talk of a class action lawsuit, causing Canadian barristers to rub their palms together so hard that they risk setting fire to the cuffs of their silk shirts. But so long as M Trudeau, on behalf of all "old stock Canadians", keeps flagellating himself and crying "GUILTY, GUILTY, GUILTY!", Canuck taxpayers (a class which excludes wealthy friends of the prime minister) can expect no relief.

UPDATED + VIDEO ADDED: Washington Post reveals its true colours

The "greats" of the lamestream media, such as the New York Times and the Washington Post, make a big deal out of proclaiming their neutrality when "reporting" (read: writing opinion pieces described as news reports) on American politics. Since last year's presidential election, no-one with any smarts at all believes them, but it's still good to see proof of their pro-Democrat/anti-Trump bias every now and then.

Here, for your delectation, is an excerpt from an "analysis" (read: you have to believe this because I'm smarter than you are) piece by (((Kayla Epstein))) headed "Trump’s Twitter deactivation couldn’t have come at a worse political moment for the platform", published today, 4/11/17. Except for the substitution of "Twitter" for "the platform") in the first line, I have copied it exactly as it appears online. You can look it up.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) raised the question of [Twitter]’s political neutrality during a Senate Judiciary hearing with Facebook, Twitter, and Google on Oct. 31. The purpose of the hearing was to investigate malicious Russian activity on these platforms during the 2016 election, but Cruz took the conversation further.

“Given the percentage of news and political information that Americans receive online through social media or through other online avenues, the prospect of Silicon Valley companies actively censoring the speech or the news content is troubling to anyone who cares about a Democratic process with a robust First Amendment,” Cruz told representatives from the tech giants.

Cruz cited specific controversial incidents involving Google, Facebook, and Twitter, including Facebook’s Trending news team, and a temporarily suspended Twitter ad by Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), a candidate for Senate.

Did you catch the play? I'll bet you Ted Cruz didn't mean to say "Democratic" with a capital D. More likely he meant "democratic", as in having a choice between competing ideologies or parties. Lifetime pct .993.

VIDEO ADDED 10/11/17: Chris Wallace (American television anchor and political commentator who is the host of the Fox Broadcasting Company/Fox News Channel program Fox News Sunday) admits that when he says the media are biased against him "Trump may have a point".

VIDEO: Canuck Minister tells The Rebel to stop calling her names

As part of his plan for the wussification of his country, Canada's self-proclaimed feminist Prime Minister Trudeau decided that at least half of his cabinet should be women (or wimmin) "because it's 2015". One minister who qualified because of what she has between her legs rather than in her head is Catherine Mary McKenna, who was appointed Minister of Environment and Climate Change, and has been focusing on the second part of her title, rather than the first, ever since.

Ms McKenna has annoyed the many Canucks who are skeptical about the "science" behind her hysterical cries that the sky is falling by labelling them "deniers", among other things. The Rebel Media has replied in kind by calling the Minister "Climate Barbie", a name which for some reason she finds offensive. In an exchange with Rebel reporter Christopher Wilson yesterday, the fragile snowflake demands that his organization stop it, STOP IT!

Walt's comment: C'mon you Rebel guys. Can't you see she's melting, SHE'S MELTING?! She can't help the way she looks, and really, not all bottle blondes are airheads.

VIDEO: "How can we keep the Faith?", Michael Matt opens Catholic Identity Conference

Kicking off last weekend's Catholic Identity Conference 2017, MC Michael J. Matt spoke of the present crisis in the Church as one without precedent. He explained why it is worse than the Arian crisis, and how the modern Church has brought this on by reneging on her own claim to be the sole means of salvation. Mr Matt then introduced His Excellency Bishop Athanasius Schneider, this year's CIC honoured guest speaker.

The address by Bishop Schneider and all the talks from the CIC are available on demand at RemnantNewspaper.com. Tell 'em Walt sent you.

"Investigators seek motive" for NYC truck attack

The "Authorities" are still being less than forthcoming with the American public in their statements concerning the identity of the man who drove a rented Home Depot truck down a sidewalk in New York City yesterday, killing 8 and wounding a dozen more.

They're being tight-lipped, they say, so as not to compromise the investigation into who he was and why he did it. Since the "analysts" and "experts" seem incapable of seeing a blackberry in a saucer of milk, Walt will help out with a summary of the facts, as divulged by other, non-official sources.

The short, slight, bearded attacker was Sayfullo Saipov, a 29-year-old who got into the USA legally in 2010, through... wait for it... the Diversity Visa Lottery. President Trump, along with Senators Tom Cotton (R-AR) and David Perdue (R-GA), has been calling for an end to the programme since August. Under the RAISE Act, introduced in February and endorsed by Mr Trump in August, the Diversity Visa Lottery would be eliminated altogether. Here's what POTUS tweeted this morning.

Mr Saipov has a Florida driver's licence but, according to the Clinton News Network, may have been staying in New Jersey. Records show Saipov was a commercial truck driver who formed a pair of businesses in Ohio. He had also driven for Uber. [Quelle surprise! Ed.] An Ohio marriage licence shows that a truck driver with one of Saipov's addresses and his name, spelled slightly differently, married a fellow Uzbek [Uzbek fellow? Ed.] in 2013. He also seems to have been known to police in St. Charles County MO, where the mug shot above was taken after an arrest a year ago.

So that's who he was, except to say that most Uzbeks are Muslims. CNN hasn't said (if it knows) whether the marriage recorded in 2013 was a proper Islamic marriage or otherwise, but Walt thinks it's a safe bet that Mr Saipov is a follower of the Prophet. (Lifetime pct .992) Or should we say soldier of the Prophet, in order to discern the motive which seems to have eluded government "investigators".

What Walt predicted yesterday (see "NYC attack: 'A statement consistent with terrorism'" WWW 31/10/17) has been confirmed by a 12-year-old student who had just left a nearby school. "A person hopped out of the car with two guns and started yelling and screaming," said the lad. "They were yelling 'Allahu akbar."' (Lifetime pct .992.)

Yet "investigators" are still saying they're trying to figure out what motivated Mr Saipov to commit this dastardly act. It would be incorrect to say they have no clue, because a note was found in the truck, "handwritten in a foreign language", according to one of the two law enforcement officials who spoke about the document. Both said its contents were being investigated but "supported the belief the act was terrorism." Notice that they didn't say "Islamic terrorism", even though note says (Walt can reveal) that the perp did it "for ISIS".

Now that I've saved the NYPD, FBI and other government agencies thousands of dollars which might have been spent trying to figure all this out, I would appreciate receiving my reward, in small bills please, to the usual address. You're welcome.
