Returned "captive" of Taliban embarrasses Canuck Prime Minister

Meet former Taliban "hostage" Joshua Boyle, seen here with his hijab-covered wife and their three surviving children, while visiting their newfound friend, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in his Ottawa office just before Christmas. Here's why this photo may turn out to be a photo bomb for Canada's most famous Islamophile.

Back in 2012, Mr Boyle, who is Canadian, decided to take his American wife, Caitlan Coleman, on a short walk through the Hindu Kush. Well, almost. For reasons as yet unexplained, the couple decided to enjoy a backpacking holiday through beautiful Afghanistan. While enjoying the scenic and other delights [Not opium, shurely! Ed.] of the armpit of the world, the Boyles were taken hostage the Haqqani network, an Islamic terrorist group linked to the Taliban. And there in Afghanistan they stayed, unable to escape (or so Mr Boyle says) for some five years.

Mr Boyle has said the couple was "helping ordinary villagers" [With what? Ed.] in a Taliban-controlled area of Afghanistan when they were seized. He told Canadian Press that conditions during their five-year ordeal changed over time as the family was shuffled back and forth among "at least three" prisons. He described the first as "remarkably barbaric", the second as more comfortable and the third as a place of violence in which he and his wife were frequently separated and beaten.

At the time they were seized, Ms Coleman was pregnant. Mr Boyle said their captors raped her, causing her to miscarry. In an interview with ABC News, Ms Coleman recalled that guards dragged her husband from their cell, and one of them threw her on the ground, shouting, "I will kill you, I will kill you!" before assaulting her. The couple had the three children shown in the picture while in captivity.

The Boyle family were freed by a daring rescue mission last October. Mr Boyle said they were in the trunk of their captors' car in Pakistan near the Afghan border when Pakistani troops rescued them. A gun battle ensued, he said, though details of what exactly happened were not made clear. Mr Boyle said the fight left all five kidnappers dead and himself injured with shrapnel. Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Canada, Tariq Azim Khan, told the CBC there was a "clash" between the Taliban and the Pakistan troops, which included gunfire. He said he did not know how many were killed.

So Mr Boyle and his family were freed, after spending five years as the guests -- willing or otherwise -- of Islamic terrorists. Some countries do not put out the "welcome home" sign for their nationals who may have become radicalized by an extended sojourn with the jihadis. Some go so far as to kill suspected sympathizers before they can return. The policy of Canada's Liberal government is, of course, quite the opposite. Canadians who have gone to the sandpit to join the other side, but then changed their mind, are to be welcomed with open arms, and sometimes open chequebooks, so that they may be "rehabilitated" and "reintegrated into society". Mr Boyle declined an offer from the US Navy to take him and his family back home, for fear (we were invited to infer) that he would be detained for questioning about his involvement with the Islamic terrorists. Not a very good business decision, IMHO, for if he'd been incarcerated in Gitmo or elsewhere, he would have qualified for the Canadian government's $10 million payout and an apology for being mean to Muslims. Anyhoo, the Boyles eventually arrived in Canada, courtesy of the Canadian taxpayer, where a great fuss was made over them, complete with media appearances and photo ops with Mr Selfie, in the prime ministerial office no less.

That was in 2017. Now it's 2018 and on New Year's Day Canuck police arrested Mr Boyle on no fewer than 15 charges relating to several incidents that are alleged to have taken place in the months since he and his family were rescued from terrorists and repatriated to Canada. The charges include eight counts of assault, two counts of sexual assault, one count of uttering a death threat, two counts of unlawful confinement, and one count of forcing an individual to ingest a noxious substance (the sleep-inducing anti-depressant Trazodone). According to court documents, Mr Boyle also faces one count of misleading a peace officer by trying to convince them that another individual was suicidal in order to divert suspicion from himself.

A bail hearing is set for this morning and Global News reports that Mr Boyle's mother (!) is among those scheduled to appear in an Ottawa court. Agent 3, who is covering the proceedings for us, says the usual publication ban will prevent the release names of the victim(s). If the "incidents" turn out to be domestic in nature (3 writes), it will be interesting to see whether any defence related to Mr Boyle's religion is raised. Devout Muslims, and the Sharia law by which they live, don't take a terribly serious view of rape (just sayin') in the context of conjugal relations. Another possible defence (3 continues) could be that old standby, PTSD. Stay tuned.

Another footnote: Before marrying Caitlan Coleman, Joshua Boyle was married to Zaynab Khadr, sister of Omar Khadr, found guilty of the murder of a US Army Sgt. It is not clear whether Mr Boyle's marriage to Ms Khadr was dissolved by a Canadian court or by the Islamic practice of saying "I divorce you!" three times in front of witnesses.

Canuck payouts to terrorists set to rise to C$50 million this year

Meet Djamel Ameziane, a pretty smart Algerian guy who's discerned the path to financial freedom. He aims to follow in the footsteps of his co-religionists (= Muslims) Omar Khadr, Muayyed Nureddin, Abdullah Almalki, and Ahmad Elmaati, each of whom has been enriched to the tune of over C$10,000,000 (nearly $7.9 million in real money) by the Canadian government (read: Canadian taxpayers) in settlements arising from their completely unjustified treatment at the hands of US and Canadian military and security agencies.

In spite of having been found guilty of the murder of Sgt. Chris Speer, Mr Khadr got over C$10 million in a settlement which made even members of the pro-Islamist Liberal Party of Justin "Junior" Trudeau squirm. Last month, the other three Muslim Canadians became instant multimillionaires, who M Trudeau said had been "wrongfully accused of links to terrorism and tortured in Syria and Egypt" after being fingered by the Mounties and Canada's alleged spy agency. Mr Ameziane is no dummy. Although he was never charged with anything or convicted of anything, he did some time at Gitmo, so, with four precedents to bolster his claim, he lawyered up and ran quickly to get to the courthouse door, where this morning he filed suit for not 10, not 20, but 50 million beaverbucks, for violation of his rights. His statement of claim alleges that Canada's security services co-operated with their American counterparts even though they knew the Americans were abusing him.

M Ameziane's lawyer said the Canuck government's recent out-of-court settlement with Omar Khadr over violation of his rights has prevented scrutiny of Canada's alleged complicity in abuses at Guantanamo Bay. All his client seeks, the ambulance-chaser said, is an enquiry, so "the Canadian public can come to understand the extent to which Canada is responsible for the torture of innocent detainees in the aftermath of 9/11."

An enquiry, yes, and financial compensation, of course. "My current situation is really bad, I am struggling to survive," M Ameziane told Canadian Press from his home in Algeria. "I was repatriated from Guantanamo and left like almost homeless. I couldn’t find a job because of the Guantanamo stigma and my age, so a settlement would be very helpful to me to get my life back together."

Let's do the math. In excess of C$40,000,000 has been paid out to four Islamists... so far. Let's suppose that M Ameziane gets the same payout as the four who have gone before him. That would bring the total to over C$50,000,000. And even as I write, other claimants are coming forward. There is talk of a class action lawsuit, causing Canadian barristers to rub their palms together so hard that they risk setting fire to the cuffs of their silk shirts. But so long as M Trudeau, on behalf of all "old stock Canadians", keeps flagellating himself and crying "GUILTY, GUILTY, GUILTY!", Canuck taxpayers (a class which excludes wealthy friends of the prime minister) can expect no relief.

Duffy's back! SUE-EE, SUE-EE, SUE-EE, PIGPIGPIG!!!

Good thing Ed. kept those file photos of the Honourable Senator Michael Duffy, Senator from Kanata. Having been found "not guilty" -- God knows how -- of 31 criminal charges of bribery, fraud, sloppy bookkeeping and general mopery, the erstwhile Conservative [ex-Conservative? Ed.] Senator from Kanata [Prince Edward Island, shurely. Ed.] has returned to the eye of the Canadian public with... and for... a vengeance.

Following what he likes to think was his vindication in April of 2016, the poster boy for greed returned to the trough [Canadian Senate, shurely. Ed.] and held out his sausage-like fingers for payment of his back pay, restoration of his pension, which he got, and whatever compensation the abashed senators would give him, which turned out to be none, nada, zero. Not only that, but he had to repay a paltry sum, a few thousand beaverbucks, for the expenses which his secretary [LMAO. Ed.] had wrongly claimed on his behalf.

It was obvious to all that the day would come when the Dishonourable Senator would get his revenge. The only question was when the size 12 shoe would drop. Yesterday turned out to be D-day, as in "D for Damages". Mr Puffy's lawyer, (((Lawrence Greenspon))) announced that he has filed a statement of claim in which the much-maligned senator is suing the Senate as well as the Attorney-General of Canada for a total of C$7.8 million (over $6 million in real money): $6.5 million in general damages, $300,000 for lost income and benefits and $1 million in punitive damages.

"General damages for what?", Canadian taxpayers want to know. For loss of enjoyment of life, loss of reputation (!!!), and mental and physical pain and suffering, says Attorney Greenspon. Specifically (the claim asserts) Mr Puffy suffered severe anxiety, depression, aggravation of his pre-existing heart condition, insomnia, nightmares, exacerbation of headaches and diabetes. Nothing is said about weight loss, possibly because the corpulent Conservative shows no signs of such.

All complaints of damages stem from the expense scandal of which he and two other Conservative-appointed senators were the central figures. Unlike the other two, however, only "ol' Duff" (as he likes to call himself) was dragged through lengthy hearings in the Senate, charges laid by the Mouonties, and a lengthy criminal trial. The basis of the Duffer's case is that he was denied justice under the Canadian Constitution and Charter of Rights. In particular, he whines ["claims", shurely. Ed.] that he was presumed to be guilty -- amazing though that may seem -- rather than innocent as was his right under the Constitution as well as Anglo-Canadian common law.

According to Agent 3, who has followed the persecution/prosecution of the Dishonourable Senator from Day 1, Mr Duffy may have a good case. He was turfed out of the Senate by vote of the Conservative majority, and had his salary and benefits cut off, before he was even charged with an offence, let alone convicted. Not that his reputation for probity or altruism was much to begin with, but it is clearly non-existent now. A snap poll published taken overnight shows a majority of Canucks of the opinion that even if the Duffer got screwed, he deserved it.

Will Senator Puffy get any money out of the Senate or A-G of Canada (read: Canadian taxpayers) for the wrongs, real and imagined, of which he complains? Omar Khadr, the notorious (and convicted) Islamic terrorist, got C$10.5 million from the Liberal wusses that now run the Canada's alleged government. It should be easy enough for Mr Duffy to walk away with a sum not unadjacent to half of what Mr Khadr got. Lifetime pct .990.

Canuck Conservative leader condemns Khadr payoff

Turns out that even as Walt was writing yesterday's post, adding in the link to the petition against the outrageous payout to an Islamic terrorist who murdered one American and wounded another, the deal had already gone down! The payment of C$10.5 million (just over US$8 million) was made yesterday, but not announced officially until today. By now the money is doubtless offshore, where the lawyers for Sgt. Chris Speer can't get at it. [Maybe it's on its way to ISIS? Ed.]

The whole thing smells. It was a deal done in secret, for motives which the Liberal cabinet ministers are having a hard time defending. The chief reason, as the Honourable Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety, tells it was that it would have cost even more to keep fighting Mr Khadr's lawyers in the courts. Even then, neither Mr Goodale nor the Honourable Judy Wilson-Reybould (appointed because she's both a woman and an Indian... oops, First Nations Person) would confirm the amount of the hush money. "That's part of the settlement and it's confidential," said Ms Wilson-Reybould.

Mr Goodale and Ms Wilson-Reybould were shoved out from behind the curtain to face the press in the absence of the Right Honourable Justin "Junior" Trudeau, who is conveniently out of the country schmoozing with Angela Merkel and Emmanuel Macron at the G-20 talking shop in Hamburg, Germany. Ms Chrystia Freeland, the useless Minister of Foreign Affairs (or Global Affairs or whatever the latest PC name is), signed the official statement along with Mr Goodale, but was nowhere to be found when it came time to cast a few pearls before the Canadian taxpayers.

Also worth noting is the fact that the whole sordid story leaked out -- conveniently, again -- just after the Canuck Parliament rose for the summer recess, so MPs will have no opportunity to ask embarrassing questions (let alone hold any kind of debate) until the honourable members resume their "work" in the fall. Canada to pay Muslim terrorist C$10.5 million for killing US soldier

This story broke earlier this week. I'm commenting only today because at first I couldn't believe it. I'm only just now getting my head around it.

The man on the right is Omar Khadr -- Canadian citizen, Muslim fanatic, former "child soldier" fighting with Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. The man on the left [appropriately. Ed.] is self-styled "global citizen" Justin Trudeau, son and heir of Pierre Himself and now Prime Minister of the Not-so-great Not-so-white North.

Justin Trudeau is an Islamophile -- not an Islamophobe but an Islamophile, meaning he loves Islam and the followers of the Prophet. It seems he never met a Muslim he didn't like (especially those who vote), including Omar Khadr. So great is the regard that M Trudeau and his alleged government have for Mr Khadr that they are about to give him C$10,500,000 (= over $8 million in real money) in "compensation" for having his "Charter rights" violated by the governments of Canada and the USA. (No word yet on whether the American government will be asked to pony up part of the loot.)

What happened is this. Although only a lad of 15, Mr Khadr was able to raise a pretty good crop of chin whiskers, so immediately when to the Middle East sandpit to join his fanatical Muslim brethren in the fight against the evil Christian crusaders. In July of 2002, following a firefight at a suspected al-Qaeda compound in Afghanistan, American troops captured the badly wounded Islamist, who, they claimed, had thrown a grenade that killed Sgt. Chris Speer, a medic with the US special forces. Mr Khadr was shipped off to Guantanamo Bay, where, in 2010, her pleaded guilty to charges that included the murder of Sgt. Speer, and was sentenced to a further eight years in custody.

Almost before the door slammed on Mr Khadr's cell at Gitmo, the usual gang of snowflakes and SJWs in Canada and the USA started demanding his release. He was only a child, they said. He was being tortured, they said. (He later said he confessed just to get out of Guantanamo Bay.) His civil rights were being violated, the Americans said. His Charter rights were being violated, the Canadians said, and he's a Canuck, so shouldn't be in the USA at all. Thus the start of the "Bring Omar home" movement.

After years of litigation and negotiation, Omar Khadr was finally returned to Canada in 2012 and sent to a maximum-security prison. He was grated bail in May of 2015, pending an appeal in the USA of his military commission conviction. The appeal is still pending. Meanwhile, as part of the litigation just referred to, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled in 2010 that Canadian intelligence officials obtained evidence from the poor lad under "oppressive circumstances", such as sleep deprivation, during interrogations at Gitmo in 2003. Worse still, they shared that evidence with American officials. The horror!

Also meanwhile (in 2004) Mr Khadr's lawyers filed a C$20-million lawsuit against the Canadian government, arguing it had violated international law by not protecting its own citizen and, worse yet, conspired with the US in the wrongful imprisonment and abuse of the young Muslim "victim". The "abuse" may have included giving him nothing to read but the Holy Qu'ran and Playboy. Whatever... the Conservative government of Steve Harpoon stoutly resisted the lawsuit, but now that Mr Selfie is in power, things are looking up for the poor oppressed Muslims of Canada and the world. Very much so for Mr Khadr, who will get just over half of the amount claimed in his suit, plus the customary profuse apology.

Amidst this incredible perversion of justice, there is one small ray of sunshine. In 2015, in an American court, Sgt. Speer's widow won an award of $134.2 million for wrongful death. Her lawyers have filed an application in Canada for enforcement of that judgment, as well as an injunction which would divert any money given to Mr Khadr to her and Sgt. Layne Morris, who was blinded by the same grenade.

Mr Khadr, meanwhile, is out of jail, and is reported to be studying to become a nurse. Paying tuition won't be a problem for him, and I expect that on graduation he will do the right thing and volunteer to join the Canadian forces in Iraq, perhaps as a medic. Yeah.

Over 50,000 disgusted Canucks have done so already (noon today). The Gliberals have a long history of ignoring public opinion because as "progressives", they know what's best. But who knows? Maybe this time.
