The population bomb -- a 75-year-old prediction comes true

Earlier this week, Sp!ked posted an interview with data scientist and demographer Stephen J. Shaw, the director of the documkentary Birth Gap, under the headline "Falling birth rates are the greatest crisis facing humanity – bar none".

Pretty strong language, and we were immediately reminded of The Population Bomb (1968), in which the late Paul Ehrlich warned that "overpopulation" would lead to mass starvation by the 1970s, to American life expectancy plummeting to just 42 by the 1980s. By the year 2000, the book predicted, England would cease to exist. And so on.

Prof. Ehrlich was wrong. Mr Shaw contends that the biggest problem we face a quarter of the way through the 21st century is precisely the opposit. The challenge is dealing with unprecedented demographic collapse in the face of falling birth rates.

"Wut?!", Walt hears you say. "There are 7 billion people crowding and destroying the earth, especially in my neighbourhood." Maybe Prof. Ehrlich was right after all, just out on his timing!

The answer to conundrum is to be found in a short story written by sci-fi master C.M. Kornbluth in 1951. It's called The Marching Morons.

The central character is real estate agent and con artist John Barlow, who is placed in suspended animation after a freak accident. He is revived in the distant future, in a confusing world filled with hypersexualized advertisements, vapid entertainment, and people who exhibit erratic, nonsensical behavior. Sounds kind of familiar, doesn't it?

Shortly after being revived, Barlow is introduced to two men, Tinny-Peete and Ryan-Ngana, who inform him that the lamentable state of society is the fault of the "morons", the world's vast population of unintelligent people, who greatly outnumber the much smaller population of intelligent people.

Ryan-Ngana says, "While you [Barlow] and your kindwere being prudent and foresighted and not having children, the migrant workers, slum dwellers, and tenant farmers were shiftlesslyt and sahort-sightedly having children -- breeding, breeding. My God, how they bred!"

So it is in the "first world" -- North America, Europe and, yes, Japan and China -- today. People of higher intelligence often choose to have few children (or no children at all) for pragmatic reasons, while people of lower intelligence, compelled by their sex drives, have larger families and reproduce in greater numbers.

So, Tinny-Peete and Ryan-Ngana explain to Barlow, the most urgent crisis of their time is the population problem ("Poprob"). The unbalanced trend has been carried to its logical extreme, with a total world population of five billion morons (with an average IQ of 45) living under the supervision of three million members of an elite, intellectual upper-class who secretly govern world affairs.

If the simple-minded morons are left to govern themselves, the world will descend into chaos and devastating war. As a result, the elite minority (of which Tinny-Peete and Ryan-Ngana are members) are effectively "enslaved" by the moron majority, working themselves to exhaustion while attempting to maintain global order and stability.

Controlling the morons' population growth is impractical for several reasons, but unless some corrective action is taken, the inevitable outcome will be the depletion of Earth's dwindling natural resources, followed by the total collapse of human civilization.

All attempts to solve Poprob have failed, and the elite hope that Barlow, as a man from a different time and with a different perspective on the problem, might be able to offer a novel solution. Barlow has an idea, but he refuses to elaborate until Tinny-Peete and Ryan-Ngana agree to formally name him dictator of the entire world, promising him wealth, power, and fame.

Taking inspiration from his knowledge of fraudulent real estate deals, propaganda techniques employed by Nazi Germany during the Holocaust, and the myth of lemmings drowning themselves in the sea, Barlow devises a plan for the extermination of the moron population. Barlow orchestrates a massive propaganda campaign encouraging the morons to migrate to the planet Venus, which is billed as a tropical paradise.

The overcrowded and inefficient cities in which the morons reside are to be dismantled, their steel used to construct fleets of "spaceships" ostensibly intended to ferry people to Venus; in reality, the spaceships are not capable of making the trip - the best spaceship ever made had crashed on the moon - but they are capable of getting their passengers out of sight of the other morons, to some unspecified location where billions can be killed without damaging Earth's biosphere.

To allay any suspicion, forged postcards are sent from Venusian "colonists" to their families, describing Venus as a lush tropical paradise and encouraging them to follow. The United States Congress, under the control of the elite, promotes the colonization of Venus as an extension of manifest destiny -- this too, sounds familiar in 2026! -- and guarantees Venusian settlers permanent land rights on the planet.

This sparks widespread nationalistic fervor as the various nations of Earth all adopt similar approaches and race to reach Venus in order to stake their own claims. As more and more morons leave, the ensuing loneliness compels the rest to follow. Barlow's plan is a complete success; Earth is gradually emptied of morons and Poprob is solved!

Sounds like a good plan to me! Of course there's a coda to the story. Once the final solution has been implemented, Barlow becomes surplus to requirement and is included in the "final cleanup". That doesn't matter. The real story here is not the solution but the analysis of the problem. Is it not a challenge for us -- call us "elites" if you like -- not in the future but in the present? Look around you.

PPC leader Max Bernier asks tough questions about illegal immigration

Contrary to rumours being spread by Canada's controlled media -- not just the state-owned public broadcaster but every major fake newspaper -- the People's Party of Canada is still alive and still fighting for real Canadian values to be reflected in federal government policy.

In particular, they are the only federal party taking a hard line against illegal immigration: third-worlders crossing Canuckistan's porous borders, overstaying student and work visas, and avoiding deportation by crying "refugee".

Two million "temporary" residence permits are set to expire this year, and almost no-one is talking about what happens next. The plan being quietly advanced by the governing Liberal Party of Marx Carnage is to eliminate the backlog of refugee and asylum claims by a process of "mass regularization". That's Liberal-speak for letting them all stay,  no questions asked.

In this video, PPC leader Maxime Bernier speaks out against this secret plan, and asks whether or not Canada's laws actually mean anything.

The Plain People of Canada: What abouth yon Parti Québécois, then?

Hey, we said the PPC is the only federal party expressing Canadians' anger about uncontrolled illegal immigration. Things are different at the provincial level, when you get closer to the grass roots. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is at daggers drawn with the federal government, demanding that her province (Canada's version of Texas) have the right to enforce immigration laws and boot out those they don't like.

And in la Belle Province du Québec, at a time when support for Quebec separatism has reached one of the lowest ebbs of the last 50 years, voters seem about to hand the government over to le Parti Québécois, the province's historical standard-bearer for secession, now seen as "the most successful anti-woke party in Canada". That's PQ leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon in the picture, giving The Salute. All good liberals know what that means, eh!

The PQ may simply be the most conspicuous beneficiary of a Canada-wide backlash to high immigration, racial hiring quotas, and the various other trappings of what the French call "wokisme". We don't need to translate, do we?

The party’s official immigration policy pledges to cap new immigrants at 35,000 per year, to place a permanent moratorium on "economic immigration", and to pursue "automation" and "roboticization" to lessen Quebec's dependence on immigrant labour.

M St-Pierre Plamondon has been a heterodox voice on cultural issues ever since becoming PQ leader in 2020. That year, he criticized the Montréal Canadiens' decision (since reveresed) to open home games with the vomit-inducing "Indigenous land acknowledgement", stating that it was inaccurate to characterize Montréal as sitting on top of "unceded" land.

Also in 2020, he was one of the few Canadian politicians to publicly question a federally driven push towards accusing Canadian institutions of "systemic racism". Then prime minister Blackie McBlackface had called "systemic racism...an issue right across the country, in all our institutions, including in all our police forces." But M St-Pierre Plamondon joined Québec Premier François Legault in questioning the claim's core tenet that any differential outcome among races was ipso facto evidence of racism.

In his first press conference after becoming PQ leader, M Plamondon said he wanted specific examples of discriminatory policies, rather than just blanket government declarations that everything was racist, "so we can come up with solutions that are connected to the diagnosis, rather than say it's out there, in the system." He added, "there is no doubt in my mind that the concept of systemic racism should not be taught in our secondary schools."

The Laurentian elites may be tut-tutting and crying "racisme", but pure-laine Canadiens are listening, and flocking to the Parti Québécois.  Suddenly, M St-Pierre Plamondon’s more heterodox positions suddenly aren't all that controversial. In late 2024, he publicly denounced the very idea of wokeism. He defined wokeism it as a political strategy of using guilt and disinformation in order to impose a political agenda through brute force.

On "Tout le monde en parle", Québec's most-watched talk show, he said that one signature technique of the wokesters is "the use of the words 'racist', 'intolerance', and 'phobe' to silence opponents." But, he said, "We can serve justice and we can serve equity without insulting and intimidating others."

Canada needs more political leaders like Max Bernier, Danielle Smith and Paul St-Pierre Plamondon. Let those who are afraid to speak out strongly for fear of being called "racist" etc take note.

VIDEO: How many sexes are there in Canada? Mad Max answers

Even Canada's lickspittle media couldn't ignore the "Million March for Children", held in cities across Canuckistan yesterday. 1000s of concerned Canadian parents, kids, and others -- including religious Catholics, Protestants and (yes!) Muslims -- showed up to protest LGBT indoctrination in the schools of the Great Woke North.

In the capital city, crowds of protesters and counter-protesters, believed to be in the hundreds on each side, yelled and chanted at each other from across Wellington Street, a large demonstration opposed to teaching LGBTQ2S+ issues in schools took over Parliament Hill.

Yes, we have video! Maxime Bernier, erstwhile leader of the People's Party of Canada (Yes, he and they are still fighting the good fight!) answers the headline question.

You'd think the answer would be obvious, but "Mad Max" is the only leader of a Canadian political party with the intestinal fortitude to say it out loud!

The stated goal of the protesters is to make schools -- Canadian school boards, particularly the Toronto District School Board, are notoriously "woke" -- stop teaching children about gay, lesbian and trans people, which the protesters claim runs counter to their rights as parents to control their children's moral and social upbringing.

Protesters held signs with slogans that included "leave the kids alone" and "pride comes before destruction". Some people at the protest called on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to resign, as the ever-popular "Fuck Trudeau" flags, first seen during the Freedom Convoy, fluttered in the wind.

The protesters complained about "intrusive elements of sexual orientation and gender ideology" (read: pro-queer agenda) in the school system. They said they don't hate the LGBTQ2S+ community, but they oppose the school systems promoting queer issues in ways that they believe go against the values and beliefs they want to raise their children with.

The march comes on the heels of months of cultural battles in Canada as well as the US of A over "gay rights", particularly involving transgender people and "gender-affirming care" -- e.g. body mutilation -- for minors.

Besides cutting off various appendages, "medical interventions" can include puberty blockers, and hormone treatments. Other parts of "gender-affirming care" (read: grooming!) can include accepting the use of a different name or preferred pronouns or dressing as the preferred gender, which we used to call "transvestism" (a psychological abnormality or perversion) or simply "cross-dressing".

The governments of the provinces of Saskatchewan and New Brunswick have tabled legislation that would require that educators obtain parental consent if a child wishes to use a different name at school or be addressed by different pronouns. Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Education Minister Stephen Lecce have discussed similar ideas but, so far, no legislation has been announced in Ontario.

The issue has also  raised its bewigged head in federal politics. At the recent Conservative Party of Canada convention, delegates voted in favour of a future Conservative government prohibiting "life-altering" medical and surgical interventions for "gender-diverse and transgender people" under the age of 18. But the new Tory leader, Pierre Poilievre, said that delegates can vote as they like, but he's the leader and willl go along with the liberals if that's what it takes to get elected.

Canadians should hope that, as Max Bernier said, common sense will prevail. But don't count on it.

VIDEO: Max Bernier, People's Party of Canada, leave YouTube

Why? Because the protectors of political correctness at YouTube won't let Max and his guests tell the truth about the Covid vaccines and the vaccine and mask mandates of our authoritarian governments. In this short (under three minutes) video, M Bernier gives his reasons.

So it's off to Rumble, an online video platform created by a Canadian, now based in Florida, which is immune to the PC cancel culture! Here's the link to the People's Party of Canada Rumble channel. See you there!!!

VIDEO: Max Bernier at the Ottawa Rally for Freedom

"Freedom is the fundamental value that unites us! That's why we're here!"

The lickspittle Canuck media have been trying to give the impression that the Ottawa protest is fizzling out. Not true! (Are ya surprised?) Two items to note:

Emperor Trudeau II said yesterday that he would not order the use of troops to supress the protest... unless of course the province of Ontario or the City of Ottawa absolutely demanded it. The truth is that he is afraid to order the army to attack the protesters, for fear that the soldiers won't obey.

The Ottawa police have been imploring towing companies for miles around to help them by hooking up the "illegal parked" trucks, but have found no-one willing to do so. The truth is that the tow truck drivers are virtually unanimous in support of the Freedom Rally.

And one more thing. [No reference to Vince Offer? Ed.] As I write, I am hearing reports that 100s of trucks and tractors are encircling Toronto's Queen's Park, the pink palace which is the seat of the Ontario government. That's right... tractors! Big John Deeres! Driven by fed-up farmers. Should be an interesting weekend in Toronto the Not-so-good.

Canada's fake "Conservatives" admit liberal policies cost them votes which went to Max Bernier's People's Party of Canada

When will conservatives ever learn that you can't win elections by trying to beat liberals at their own game, when millions of voters want real conservatives to run the country?

I didn't use capital letters there because the lesson is one that needs to be learned by politicians in all countries, not just Canada's "Conservatives", who, under the "leadership" of Erin O'Tool, managed to lose the September election that was theirs for the taking. How did they do it? By trying to be almost as liberal as the Liberals, led by Tofino Trudeau.

When it came to policies on the economy, carbon taxes, immigration and other things Canucks care about, there was essentially no difference between the Liberal platform -- "Vote for more of the same!" -- and that of the "Conservatives" -- "Vote for more of the same, only with a blue tie instead of red!"

Canadian voters, millions of `em, wanted a real choice, and so -- as predicted here (lifetime pct .991) -- conservative voters jumped to Max Bernier's People's Party of Canada.

Throughout the campaign, the Conservatives pooh-poohed my (and others') suggestion that O'Tool's pivot to the left would drive people to the PPC. Perhaps they were lulled into a false sense of security by the controlled media's deplatforming of "Mad Max". But they were wrong! As Nelson Muntz would say, HA-ha!

Even on the night of the election, as one Tory candidate after another lost to a Gliberal by a few hundred votes, Conservative "strategists" remained unconvinced of the "threat from the right". After all, the PPC didn't win any seats, not even M Bernier's own.

It didn't take long though, for the vote tallies to reveal that, indeed, the Conservatives could have won, but for the impact of the much increased support for the People's Party. As reported here not two days later, an analysis by former Conservative MP Inky Mark showed that no fewer than 22 seats were won by the Libs (or the even more pinkish NDP) by less than the number of votes cast for the PPC!

Now, a month after the Conservatives snatched defeat from the jaws of victory [Did you make that up? Ed.], the former MP leading the review into the party's election performance says it will examine how the Tories lost votes to the People's Party. How about that....

The Globe and Mail reports that James Cumming, an Alberta representative who lost his seat to the Liberals’ Randy Boissonnault, says he will begin reaching out to candidates and campaign teams this week. Mr O'Tool asked Mr Cumming to review the party's campaign after it was defeated by the Liberals and won two fewer seats than it did in the 2019 federal vote.

In addition to probing his party's campaign strategy, its ground game and the data it used, etc, Mr Cumming says he will be looking at the role the PPC played in their failure to defeat Mr Socks. "Anywhere that we've had bleed of vote," said Mr Cumming, "I think that that's important that we study and understand what the factors were, so the PPC would represent some of that."

What's to study? Millions of Canadian voters, from coast to coast to coast (as the saying does) wanted a real conservatives, not "red Tories", to represent them in Parliament and halt the disintegration of the Great No-longer-white North. That's not so hard to understand... unless you're the leader of the "Conservative" Party.

"Mostly peaceful protests" OK for Antifa & loony left, not conservatives

The CBC (Canadian Broadcorping Castration - the propaganda arm of Canada's Liberal government) has got itself all worked up over Friday's confrontation between Liberal leader Blackie McBlackface and a group of Canadians angry about forced vaccination against the kung flu and its more virulent Delta (read: made-in-India) variant.

There were plenty of other things for them to be angry about, but "to be or not to be vaccinated" was the wedge issue Just In Trudeau was looking for, and he got it. In spades!

The protest was more "mostly peaceful" than similar demonstrations by Antifa, BLM and the loony left seen in the Excited States of America.  A common obscenity was displayed on a banner and shouted numerous times. The Salmon Arm Salute (having the same meaning as the printed obscenity) was seen. But no punches (or objects) were thrown. No-one was physically assaulted or interfered with. "No harm, no foul!"

The CBC and its masters would have Canadians believe that this sort of thing is simply unacceptable, just "not who we are", as Mr Socks put it. That's just bullshit. The behaviour exhibited yesterday is perfectly fine with the liberal politicians and lickspittle media, if the "mostly peaceful protesters" are on the side of progress and wokeness!

Case in point: Antifa and other comsymp "protesters" roughing up elderly women and men at the rally for Max Bernier held by the People's Party of Canada at Mohawk College in Hamilton ON on 30 September 2019.

The rally went ahead anyway -- "Mad Max" is no coward! -- but not one of the thugs clearly identifiable in the video was ever brought to trial, let alone convicted of anything. And now the CBC, which deplores the much milder behaviour of the protesters at Bolton, refuses to allow any mention of the "Hamilton incident" in the comments section of its hand-wringing, pearl-clutching story.

Canadian readers take note, and remember all this on September 20th!

Footnote: Hey, this story even made it onto Fox News., which normally doesn't pay much attention to events in the No-longer-great No-longer-white North. See "Furious crowd forces Justin Trudeau to cancel campaign event: 'Need freedom'".

PPC ahead of Greens in latest poll: can Bernier join the Debate now?

In "Canada's only conservative leader barred from debate", WWW 21/8/21, I wrote:

The Leaders' Debates Commission, a supposedly non-partisan group chaired by former Governor-General David Johnston, is organizing two Leaders' Debates, in French and English, to be televised on September 8th and 9th. The Commission announced, very quietly, late Friday afernoon (when all Canadians are en route to their cottages), that all the leaders had been invited to participate, with the exception of... wait for it... Maxime Bernier!

The excuse given by the Commission for deplatforming Mad Max is that to be eligible to participate, one must be the leader of a party which: - has at least one MP in the House of Commons who was elected as a member of that party -.received at least four per cent of the total number of votes cast in the 2019 election, and - has a national support level of at least four per cent, five days after the date the election is called, as measured by leading national public opinion polling organizations.

The first criterion was in place in 2019 but was struck down by a court challenge, since M Bernier had a seat in Parliament, having been elected as a Conservative prior to forming the PPC. So the second and third criteria were added to raise the bar high enouogh that the PPC would not qualify.

As it was, it was close. A poll released just ahead of Mr Johnston's announcement put the People's Party at 6% of decided voters, compared with 3% for the Soylent Greens. But the Commission calculated the PPC's average level of national support at 3.27%, just enough to lose out.

But guess what, campers?! The pollsters at Ekos -- usually great friends of Mr Socks and his party -- have just released some startling new numbers.

Ed. says the image will just be more fuzzy if he makes it bigger, so let me highlight these numbers:
Of the six parties which are now being tracked, the Greens now hold 6th (and last) place, with 4.2% of the voters polled. Le Bloc Québécois are second-last at 5.1%, but that should be marked with a * because they will only field candidates in Québec, and should be good for at least 10% of the 338 seats in the House of Commons.

Third-last (or fourth from the top), is Maxime Bernier's People's Party of Canada, with 6.3%! That number is in line with their support in a poll released the day that the Leaders' Debate Commission said that the PPC didn't have enough support to warrant including "Mad Max" in the debates scheduled for September 8th-9th. The Commission ignored that poll. Let's see them ignore this one!
