PPC leader Max Bernier asks tough questions about illegal immigration

Contrary to rumours being spread by Canada's controlled media -- not just the state-owned public broadcaster but every major fake newspaper -- the People's Party of Canada is still alive and still fighting for real Canadian values to be reflected in federal government policy.

In particular, they are the only federal party taking a hard line against illegal immigration: third-worlders crossing Canuckistan's porous borders, overstaying student and work visas, and avoiding deportation by crying "refugee". 

Two million "temporary" residence permits are set to expire this year, and almost no-one is talking about what happens next. The plan being quietly advanced by the governing Liberal Party of Marx Carnage is to eliminate the backlog of refugee and asylum claims by a process of "mass regularization". That's Liberal-speak for letting them all stay,  no questions asked.

The Plain People of Canada: What abouth yon Parti Québécois, then?

Hey, we said the PPC is the only federal party expressing Canadians' anger about uncontrolled illegal immigration. Things are different at the provincial level, when you get closer to the grass roots. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is at daggers drawn with the federal government, demanding that her province (Canada's version of Texas) have the right to enforce immigration laws and boot out those they don't like.

And in la Belle Province du Québec, at a time when support for Quebec separatism has reached one of the lowest ebbs of the last 50 years, voters seem about to hand the government over to le Parti Québécois, the province's historical standard-bearer for secession, now seen as "the most successful anti-woke party in Canada". That's PQ leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon in the picture, giving The Salute. All good liberals know what that means, eh!

The PQ may simply be the most conspicuous beneficiary of a Canada-wide backlash to high immigration, racial hiring quotas, and the various other trappings of what the French call "wokisme". We don't need to translate, do we?

The party’s official immigration policy pledges to cap new immigrants at 35,000 per year, to place a permanent moratorium on "economic immigration", and to pursue "automation" and "roboticization" to lessen Quebec's dependence on immigrant labour.

M St-Pierre Plamondon has been a heterodox voice on cultural issues ever since becoming PQ leader in 2020. That year, he criticized the Montréal Canadiens' decision (since reveresed) to open home games with the vomit-inducing "Indigenous land acknowledgement", stating that it was inaccurate to characterize Montréal as sitting on top of "unceded" land.

Also in 2020, he was one of the few Canadian politicians to publicly question a federally driven push towards accusing Canadian institutions of "systemic racism". Then prime minister Blackie McBlackface had called "systemic racism...an issue right across the country, in all our institutions, including in all our police forces." But M St-Pierre Plamondon joined Québec Premier François Legault in questioning the claim's core tenet that any differential outcome among races was ipso facto evidence of racism.

In his first press conference after becoming PQ leader, M Plamondon said he wanted specific examples of discriminatory policies, rather than just blanket government declarations that everything was racist, "so we can come up with solutions that are connected to the diagnosis, rather than say it's out there, in the system." He added, "there is no doubt in my mind that the concept of systemic racism should not be taught in our secondary schools."

The Laurentian elites may be tut-tutting and crying "racisme", but pure-laine Canadiens are listening, and flocking to the Parti Québécois.  Suddenly, M St-Pierre Plamondon’s more heterodox positions suddenly aren't all that controversial. In late 2024, he publicly denounced the very idea of wokeism. He defined wokeism it as a political strategy of using guilt and disinformation in order to impose a political agenda through brute force. 

On "Tout le monde en parle", Québec's most-watched talk show, he said that one signature technique of the wokesters is "the use of the words 'racist', 'intolerance', and 'phobe' to silence opponents." But, he said, "We can serve justice and we can serve equity without insulting and intimidating others."

Canada needs more political leaders like Max Bernier, Danielle Smith and Paul St-Pierre Plamondon. Let those who are afraid to speak out strongly for fear of being called "racist" etc take note.

Woke judges bend the law to excuse non-white criminals

It used to be said that there was one law for the rich and one law for the poor. Now it's one law for the white, and one law for the non-white, particularly when it comes to criminal "justice". And, unlike in the 19th and 20th centuries, it's the non-whites who get the benefit of the doubt, or should I say, liberal guilt. 

Yesterday, Walt held up the trials of "rap artist" Kodak Black as a horrible example of the reverse racism shown by American prosecutors and judges in dealing with a drug-addled habitual criminal who happens to be as black as  his name. Three Hail Mammies and it's back on the street for Mr Black.

The situation is no better in Canada, the only difference between the American and Canadian "systems" being that it's not just blacks but also Indians First Nations indigenous Canadians who are disproportionately charged, convicted and incarcerated.

This is not because of "systemic racism" as claimed by the SJWs, but because it is the BIPOCs are responsible for way more than their share of serious crime, particularly violent crime. They do the crime, so they have to do the time. But now, our sometimes-resident legal beagle, Agent 3, reports a recent example of activist judges bending the laws of the land to achieve equity and "social justice". In other words, to let BIPOCs of the hook easily.

Late last month, the Ontario Court of Appeal ruled, in the precedent-setting case of Regina v. King, that the criminal records of Indigenous Persons can be excluded from their trials to "preserve fairness." 

Dale Burningsky King, pictured, was found to have fatally shot Yosif Al-Hasnawi [What part of Ireland was he from? Ed.] in Hamilton ON in 2017. Both men were 19 at the time. 

Mr Al-Hasnawi was a medical student. Mr King was a daily user and dealer in methamphetamine. On the way, with a friend, to a meth sale, Mr King had an "interaction" with an older man on the street where Mr Al-Hasnawi, unarmed, was gathered with his brothers getting fresh air during an event at a mosque. 

Mr Al-Hasnawi called out to Mr King [a friendly greeting, perhaps? Ed.] and Mr King and his friend approached. After some "talking", the friend punched Mr Al-Hasnawi and the two ran off. Mr Al-Hasnawi gave chase, until Mr King shot him in the stomach.

Mr King claimed self-defence and was ultimately acquitted of second degree murder. The appeal court agreed with this result. On appeal the Crown objected to the fact that part of King’s lengthy criminal record was suppressed at trial. The trial judge had reasoned that this was fair because of "systemic discrimination" against indigenous people and (of course) Mr King's "lived experience" -- the latest buzzphrase -- of family separation, transience, addiction and abuse. The trial judge felt disclosure of Mr King's full criminal record could prejudice the jury against him due to "racial stereotyping", so kept some of it out.

Ontario's top court thinks what the trial judge did -- creating race-based procedural rules to make up for the supposed effects of systemic racism -- was fair and just. It was not. In Canada, just as in the US of A, justice is no longer colour-blind. Softening laws which are supposed to apply to everybody, regardless of race, colour or creed, creates two "justice" systems -- one for whites and another for all the minorities who have been oppressed for centuries by the evil white colonialists. It isn't fair.

UPDATED: The point of "I've got a little list..."

NOTE FROM ED., posted 16/4/21. A reader, Ben Tobox of Bowlegs OK (you can look it up), didn't get the point of our reposting of the People's Cube's  list of people that the Antifa and other extreme liberal types would like to censor, since they can't actually execute them. 

I encourage you, Ben, and all our readers, to read the list, name by name. There may be some names you don't recognize, just as Walt didn't know the name of Thomas Sowell until recently. If you find such a name, like John Kennedy (for instance), Google him/her and see what you can find. Maybe you'll find a blog with some worthwhile reading. 

Or search the name on YouTube and find a video like this one, in which Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) tries to find out what "systemic racism" means. Keep your eyes, ears and minds open. That's the point.

In the Gilbert & Sullivan operetta The Mikado, the Lord High Executioner sings "I've got a little list", a patter song of those who could be executed "and surely won't be missed." That's what they did in medieval Japan. In today's Excited States of America, we don't execute those we are afraid of. We just impeach them!

Whether you intend to execute your enemies or just "cancel" them by censorship (sometimes known as "fact-checking") or impeachment, you need a list -- a fecal roster -- right?

VIDEO: Fed-up teacher slams Loudon VA school board's insane racism

Meet Lilit Vanetsyan, a self-described "educator" [Is "teacher" too simple a word for "educators"? Ed.] and reporter with Right Side Broadcasting Network. In only one minute, Ms Vanetsyan exposed the insanity of Marxist critical race theory, as embraced by the Loudoun County (VA) Public Schools.

This "extreme wokeness" (or "woke extremism?") teaches that hidden racism permeates American society, and encourages students to deconstruct the world around them to find hidden racism. Here's what Ms Vanetsyan thinks of it.

 

Critical race theory is the ideology which fueled the violent Black Lives Matter and antifa riots last summer. "Woke" school districts across the Excited States of America have rushed to get on the reverse racism bandwagon, but few more so than Loudoun County Public Schools, in the suburbs of Virginia, northwest of Washington DC.

For the sake of combatting perceived "systemic racism", the LCPS adopted curriculum from the far-Left Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and removed the still-popular Dr. Seuss books from its library shelves. The LCPS plan also includes the obligatory "anti-racism training' (read" brainwashing) for teachers. Walt has heard that one of the "modules" is entitled "Guilty! Guilty! Guilty", with the text being a book of the same name by Garry Trudeau.  [Ed., you'd better check this.] 

It is also rumoured that "educators" will be required to instruct their impressionable pupils on how to draft and circulate petitions calling for the renaming of the Loudoun County seat, which happens to be, errr... Leesburg... named after... you know who.

Don't be misled by the self-proclaimed good intentions of the SJWs. In the name of promoting "sensitivity" and "tolerance", critical race theory promotes racism and division. 

It's not just whites who are targetted. In a statement released on 23 February, the Chinese American Citizens Alliance of Greater New York declared, "Critical Race Theory (CRT) is a hateful, divisive, manipulative fraud. One way or another, CRT wants to get rid of ​too many Asians​ in good schools. Asians are over-represented.​ CRT is today’s Chinese Exclusion Act. CRT is the real ​hate crime​ against Asians....

"CRT appears in our workplaces under the cover of ​implicit bias/sensitivity​ ​training​. It infiltrates our schools pretending to be ​culturally/ethnically responsive​ ​pedagogy​, with curricula such as the New York Times' ​1619 Project​ and Seattle’s ​ethnomathematics​. From its very roots, CRT is racist, repressive, discriminatory, and divisive."

Guilty of plagiarism? Princeton profs publish "anti-racism" demands

Seems like just yesterday [It was just yesterday! Ed.] Walt told you about the ridiculous list of demands made by the Faculty Association of California State University (not to be confused with the University of California) to combat the "systemic racism" which exists in their alleged university, as well as American society generally. See "Reverse racism demanded by California State U faculty", WWW 8/7/20.

Many of those demands, including a "dedicated black-only student space" (read: segregated housing) on campus, have started to pop up at universities across the country, including Princeton, which just last month bowed to the anti-racist mob by voting to remove the name of former President (of both Princeton and the USA) Woodrow Wilson from its School of Public Policy and International Affairs.

The Daily Princetonian reports that over 350 faculty members at the once-prestigious Ivy League university have published an open letter charging the school for its alleged "anti-Black racismL, and demanding "anti-racist action" and "diversity in decision-making". But the target is not just Princeton, but the whole world! "Given Princeton's influence," the signatories write, these "principled steps" are designed to "move the dial further toward justice for...the world."

Let's have a look at the 48 "anti-racist" demands. Some of them seem, errr, kind of racist, but you be the judge.

The letter calls for non-white faculty (only) to receive extra sabbaticals, extra pay and extra awards to compensate for the "invisible work" they do. Such as what? The letter states that minority professors are called upon to "chiefly and constantly 'serve' and 'represent' [racial diversity] in the interest of administrative goals."  Back in the `60s some people called that "hiring a niggler to sit beside the door."

The authors complain that just 7% of tenure-track faculty are non-white. How do they know? In South Africa, in the apartheid days, they measured people's lips and checked the texture of their hair. Anyway, the writers suggest giving those oppressed few "a full year of course relief" (meaning no teaching) so they can seek out and recruit more faculty of colour.

More ominously, an "outside committee of academics, law professors, artists, and cultural advisors from communities of color" are to be brought in to make decisions about "race, racism, anti-racism, and racial equity" that will impact the entire campus, while an "internal committee of faculty and students of color" must be appointed to hold the university accountable for carrying out these outsiders' orders.

The university's departments will be rewarded for making diversity hires, but those who don't will be punished! The letter-writers want Princeton to "enforce repercussions" for those departments that "show no progress in appointing faculty of color." Any hiring process that shows "no evidence of a concerted effort to assemble a diverse candidate pool" is to be quashed, and (presumably) the HR people re-educated.

The push for de facto segregation -- let's not beat about the bush here -- includes paying minority students to mentor underclass(wo)men of their own race. Administrators are to hold "semesterly open conversations" only with "students, faculty and staff of color" – no whites allowed!

The Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity is ordered to work with individual departments to devise tailored plans for "anti-racist research, teaching, hiring, and retention", to ensure that no discipline can squirm out from under its responsibility to redress centuries-old grievances.

All faculty must undergo anti-bias training, and standardized testing should probably be abolished because it's "strongly correlated with the underrepresentation of people of color on college campuses."

Princeton's website must include a line on its homepage acknowledging that the campus is built on "indigenous land". But wait, there's more....

The letter-writers want a faculty committee -- themselves??? -- tasked with "investigation and discipline of racist behaviors, incidents, research, and publication on the part of faculty." Sounds like an Orwellian type of thought police to enforce the parody of tolerance that has become the new normal in academia, the media and liberal politics. But let's give credit where credit is due. The authors of the letter suggest that Princeton "acknowledge, credit, and incentivize anti-racist student activism". To start with, there should be a "formal public University apology to the members of the Black Justice League" and other sometime students provoking, orchestrating and taking part in the wave of "anti-racist activism" -- complete with riots, vandalism and violence -- that is now sweeping over America's universities, and indeed, the Excited States of America itself.

Reverse racism demanded by California State U faculty

I see that, following the death of George Floyd, the Faculty Association of California State University (CFA) has made some demands, reported [a bit belatedly? Ed.] by the Daily Caller. The faculty union has a lengthy shopping list of concessions, handouts and other assistance for "Black, Native and Indigenous" students who have been so terribly, terribly hurt by the systemic racism in the university and American society generally.

What, I wonder, is the difference between "native" and "indigenous" students? Do they mean the folks we used to call "Indians" or "Native Americans"? After four centuries, aren't black people indigenous to America? White people too? But let's get on with it. Ed. will highlight [in blue, of course. Ed.] the buzzwords and loaded phrases currently fashionable with the anti-everything left.

The CFA states that "it is not enough to condemn this public execution [of George Floyd] that calls lynching to mind," and that the university needs to fight racism by:

- Making tuition free for minority students, to reverse the decades-long trend of declining enrollments among these demographics. This means overturning Proposition 209, which was approved in 1996 and prohibited California's state institution from considering race, sex, or ethnicity in public employment, effectively banning affirmative action.

- Requiring at least one "ethnic studies" course as a graduation requirement, because the infrastructures of universities are grounded in a "white supremacist colonial discourse and culture" and "the current course content condones 'spirit murdering'."

- Mandating consistent campus-wide training on "unconscious bias" for all university personnel who interact with students and faculty.

- Recognize the "cultural taxation" placed on black students and faculty, who "are asked to speak for all Blackness on the campuses in committee meetings, as advisors for student groups, as well as in their classrooms", creating a "unique burden placed on ethnic minority faculty in carrying out their responsibility to service within the university."

- Heeding "the voices of Black students across the country as they call for universities to divest from police institutions, for the removal of this deeply racist institution from our sites of higher learning, and toward the full abolition of the police."

- And, last but certainly not least... Creating a black student centre [complete with basketball court? Ed.] to serve as "respite for black students".

That's enough demands for help [preferential treatment? Ed.] for "Black, Native and Indigenous" students. I am waiting for the faculty associations of Howard, Tuskegee, Fisk and other historically black universities to publish similar lists of demands for the equal treatment of minority white students at those institutions. But I'm not holding my breath.
