Mysterious meeting between WH bigshots and former Canadian PM

Here's the lead of a story which appeared this afternoon on the CBC News website, headed: "Stephen Harper expected to meet Trump's top economic adviser in Washington amid trade tensions".

Former prime minister Stephen Harper is poised to meet with two top Trump administration officials in Washington against a backdrop of fractious talk over tariffs.... Harper is expected to travel to Washington on Monday, July 2, and has scheduled meetings with Larry Kudlow — the director of the National Economic Council and Trump's go-to economic adviser — and John Bolton, the president's national security adviser, according to multiple sources who spoke to CBC News on the condition of anonymity.

Walt's innocent question: Why do "two top Trump administration officials" suddenly want to talk with Mr Harpoon, who, since his defeat in October of 2015, has been merely a private citizen of Canuckistan? Could it be that the Americans have had enough of Just In Trudeau and his angry little woman sidekick Chrystia Freeland? Have they let it be known that if Canada wants to bug out of the upcoming trade war and salvage some kind of free trade deal with the US of A, they need to send someone to the table who can talk common sense, not gender ideology/global warming/"fair trade" nonsense?

In the immortal words of Bugs Bunny, "Ehhhhh... could be!" Stay tuned.

Annapolis mass murder not Trump's fault - media types disappointed

This is an update of Walt's bare-bones report on the mass murder at the offices of the Capital-Gazette, in Annapolis MD, first posted just after 1700. At that point the body count was 5 dead and 7 wounded, some seriously. Local cops were keeping shtum about the suspect they had taken into custody, supposedly because he had mutilated his fingertips making it difficult to identify him by fingerprints.

Similarly, nobody was saying anything about the shooter's possible motivation. I suggested three possibilities:

- Crazed Islamic terrorist protesting President Trump's "Muslim ban", upheld Tuesday by the Supreme Court. But there are no reports of shouts of "Allahu akbar!" being heard.

- Crazed anti-Trumper protesting President Trump's "Muslim ban" after hearing the ladies of The View denigrate the ban, the President, and SCOTUS, all in one breath.

- Crazed... something or somebody else... maybe an ex-employee who went postal. Who knows?

The (((controlled media))) were quick to jump to the first or second conclusion, leaning to the second when it was learned that the killer was a white man. All too typical was Rob Cox, Global Editor for Thomson Reuters' Breakingviews who tweeted (@rob1cox): "This is what happens when @realDonaldTrump calls journalists the enemy of the people. Blood is on your hands, Mr. President. Save your thoughts and prayers for your empty soul."

Imagine the consternation of Mr Cox (and all the other liberal meeja types who were writing their own similar messages) when the shooter was revealed, by the Baltimore Sun, the owners of the Capital-Gazette, to be 38-year-old "Jarrod W. Ramos, a man with a longstanding dispute with the newspaper." Mr Ramos filed a defamation lawsuit against the paper and one of its columnists in 2012.

Mr Cox has since deleted his tweet and acknowledges "jumping to a conclusion." Although Mr Ramos appears not to be an ex-employee of the newspaper, I think my third guess is close enough to raise my lifetime pct to .989. Keep that in mind any time you want to know what's really going on.

HS principal reported to HR police over "Black List"

Peggy Aitchison, the principal of the Etobicoke (Ontario) School of the Arts, has found out the hard way that no good deed goes unpunished, especially when the do-gooder is an educated white woman (read: Ms Aitchison) and the beneficiaries are less-educated black yoof.

The ESA is a surprisingly elitist high school run by the loony left Toronto District School Board, where students (of all races, faiths, yada yada, of course) can study drama [Perhaps to become future prime ministers? Ed.], meeja, film-making, music and dance -- all the artsy-fartsy stuff that will make them underproductive citizens when (if?) they grow up.

Pictures of the ESA student body reveal that the majority of the kids are white, which may or may not be odd since white folks are a minority in the Greater [sic] Toronto Area. But some of the students are black, or, as the Toronto Red Star styles it, "Black". And some of those kids -- the Black kids -- are, errr, underachieving. Concerned about how to bring these yoofs up to the level of their peers, Peggy Aitchison compiled a list of all "students of colour" at the school, which she passed out to teachers so they could give the underachievers extra help. You can see what's coming, can't you?

George Brown [sic], the parent of an 18-year-old student at ESA, found out about what he calls the "Black list", and filed what he says is a "human rights claim" against both Principal Aitchison and the TDSB. "It took the photos of the black students in the yearbook and places it beside their names," he told CTV News. "It is not being done on the basis of collected data. It is profiled!"

Mr Brown went on to explain that the list also placed students in categories based on mixed race. "You were in a different kind of category, as if you had some kind of white in your background, maybe you aren't, I guess, stupid. But you were put in another list is you were black from Africa or Jamaica." Hmmm.

At a meeting of parents earlier this month, Ms Aitchison admitted to creating the list, and apologized profusely, in the grand old Canadian tradition, saying that she only meant to help measure achievement at the school. "Upon reflection and discussion with others," she said, "I recognized that this was a limited, flawed, and ultimately inappropriate approach to identifying gaps in supports and so, that very same day, I retracted that compilation that was based solely on perception."

Mr Brown told CTV he doesn't accept the apology because her explanation "wasn't enough" for him. He and his son (who Walt assumes was on the Black list) say they want the TDSB to provide human rights training to all staff and to provide assurances that no more lists like the one found at ESA will ever be created. And they want Ms Aitchison should apologize to every student on the list individually.

Ms Aitchison responded by asking to be transferred to another school, and the TDSB said "So let it be written; so let it be done."

Hyuge victory for POTUS: SCOTUS upholds "Muslim ban"... AGAIN

The anti-Trump coalition of snowflakes, SJWs, eco-wienies, lawyers, gliberal activists and Democratic politicians didn't give up easily. When President Trump kept his election promise in January of 2017 by issuing an executive order banning travel from certain Muslim-majority countries, they followed the grand old American traditions of (a) yapping on The View, (b) demonstrating and (c) suing. See "Trump keeps his promises; panic ensues", WWW 29/1/17.

At first they enjoyed some success with (c), as various judges -- Democratic appointees all -- signalled their virtue by striking down the order on whatever grounds they could think of. Injunctions followed, requiring the administration to stop being Islamophobic and open the doors to nationals of such peaceful and stable shitholes as Iran, Syria, Libya and Somalia. Imagine the anti-Trumpers' consternation, then, when in December the Supreme Court of the United States overturned the injunctions and ruled that the principal case, Hawaii v. Trump, should be heard on its merits. See "Winning bigly: SCOTUS upholds POTUS travel ban", WWW 5/12/17.

In an unusual burst of energy and speed, SCOTUS proceeded immediately to hear argument in that case, and today handed down its verdict, ruling in favour of President Trump in a 5-4 decision. The Supremes said that permanent entry restrictions on citizens of various terror-prone (read: Islamic) nations (read: shitholes) codified in Presidential Proclamation 9645 are fully consistent with the Immigration and Nationality Act as well as the Establishment Clause of the Constitution of the United States.

Citing an earlier case, Chief Justice John Roberts, writing for the majority, said that the admission and exclusion of foreign nationals is a "fundamental sovereign attribute exercised by the Government's political departments largely immune from judicial control", and that the President has extraordinarily broad discretion under 8 U.S.C. § 1182(f) to exclude aliens when he believes it is in the nation’s best interest so to do.

As for the argument that Presidential Proclamation 9645 is racist, Islamophobic, yada yada, and therefore contrary to the equal rights provisions of the Constitution and other equal rights legislation, SCOTUS ruled that the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution permits POTUS' policy, because the Proclamation gives a "religion-neutral" explanation -- the policy is intended to better secure America's border and therefore the American people -- which, on its face, is legitimate. If you come from Iran, it doesn't matter if you're a Muslim or a Christian or a Zoroastrian (look it up). You're out!

The sounds you hear on The View and in places like Dearborn MI and Burbank CA (see "Where's Mohammed?" map below) are weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth over an indisputable (literally) Trump victory, plus the frying of brains trying to think up ways of smuggling more followers of the Prophet -- all of them peace-loving, of course -- into the US of A. The Supreme Court has ruled, but the Islamic jihad against America is far from over.

1000s of migrants turned back, left to die in desert

You think -- or rather, the lamestream media leads you to believe -- that the Paranoid States of America treats illegal immigrants badly? Being detained for a few weeks and then given a hearing, with at least a chance of being allowed to stay is nothing, nothing compared with what happens to border jumpers in other parts of the world. Like Africa, for instance, where this picture was taken.

This is what happened to more than 13,000 would-be "refugees" and aslyum-seekers who tried to cross from central Africa -- shitholes like Congo and Nigeria -- northward through Niger and Mali into Algeria, from where they would go to Libya, get on rickety boats and then be rescued by well-meaning Europeans and dumped onto the shores of Italy, Greece or Malta, who only occasionally turn them back. See "New Italian government turns back boatload of 'refugees'", WWW 11/6/18.

Getting across the Mediterranean is nothing compared to the difficulty of getting across Algeria, according to the latest report to have the do-gooders and (((controlled media))) wringing their hands. In the past 14 months, newly-released statistics say, the Algerian government -- Algeria is a majority Muslim state, by the way -- has abandoned more than 13,000 people in the Sahara Desert, expelling them without food or water and forcing them to walk, sometimes at gunpoint, under a blistering sun. Some get their just desserts [Let's not make light of this. Ed.] and die.

Algeria has increased the number and rate of mass expulsions since last fall, as the European Union renewed pressure on north African countries to head off migrants going north to Europe. One of the "Brussels sprouts" (as Private Eye calls them) said the EU was aware of what Algeria was doing, but that sovereign countries can expel migrants as long as they comply with international law. Quite true. And that goes for the USA and even Canada, although Canuckistan's Liberal government seems unaware that they could actually close their border if they wanted to.

Algeria provides no figures for its involuntary expulsions, but the number of people crossing on foot to Niger has been increasing since the International Organization for Migration started counting in May 2017, when 135 people were dropped, to as high as 2888 in April 2018. In all, according to the IOM, a total of 11,276 men, women and children survived the march. At least another 2500 were forced on a similar trek into neighbouring Mali, with an unknown number succumbing along the way.

Just to be clear, the key word in the IOM's full name is "for" -- not "against". According to its own website, the organization "is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners...to [promote] humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all." That's "promote", meaning "encourage", "support", "assist", the opposite of "discourage" or "deter", in spite of the fact that literally millions of mostly Muslim economic migrants from the Middle East and Africa are overrunning Europe, to the detriment of all.

"The Simpsons" saw it coming

Further reading: "Border Hysteria Delivers Disastrous Week for Establishment Media", by John Nolte, Breitbart News, 25/6/18.
Closing quote: Obama separated children for eight years and the media did not care, which proves this entire narrative is a hoax.
The ONLY way to keep families together is to release these illegal alien families into the American interior. The media will not tell you that, but they know that is the case, and that is what they want.

Anti-Trump fake news (and other BS) - MAKE IT STOP!

You've seen it, right... the cover of the upcoming issue of TIME which implies... strongly... that President Trump is singlehandedly and personally responsible for tearing a two-year-old toddler from the arms of her illegal immigrant mother? Did you see the one on the left, from the June 16th Daily News, which makes the same point rather less subtly.

The Washington Post and the Clinton News Network were quick to lavish praise on TIME's cover design when it was released yesterday, calling it "powerful" and "resonant". CNN had a long article in which the writer raved that the cover "shows the compassion gap that exists between the Trump administration's 'zero-tolerance' border policy and the real-life people that are affected."

Unfortunately for the (((controlled media))) in general and TIME in particular, CBS News actually did a little fact-checking, reporting today that one of the border agents who encountered the girl and her mother told them [CBS] that little Yanela Denise was crying due to thirst and lack of sleep. "We were patrolling the border. It was after 10 o'clock at night," border agent Carlos Ruiz said. "We asked her to set the kid down in front of her, not away from her, she was right in front of her...so we can properly search the mother. So the kid immediately started crying as she set her down. I personally went up to the mother and asked her 'Are you doing OK? Is the kid OK?' and she said, 'Yes. She's tired and thirsty. It's 11 o'lock at night."

But wait (as Vince Offer used to say), there's more. The border agent said the little girl and her mother were together... right? Right. And that's the way the girl's father tells it too! Other meeja types caught up with Denis Javier Varela Hernandez, who was still in the family's native Honduras. He told them he'd learned that his daughter and her mother weren't separated at all, but detained at a facility in Texas.

Sandra Sanchez, the girl's mother, had previously been deported to Honduras in 2013. According to Mr Hernandez, she left without telling him she was taking Yanela with her and he was unable to contact her. Then he saw the picture on the news. "You can imagine how I felt when I saw that photo of my daughter," he told the UK's Daily Mail. "It broke my heart. It's difficult as a father to see that, but I know now that they are not in danger. They are safer now than when they were making that journey to the border."

Today TIME admitted they'd blotted their copybook in this "correction":

But, TIME said in a lightning-fast reverse, "The June 12 photograph of the 2-year-old Honduran girl became the most visible symbol of the ongoing immigration debate in America for a reason. Under the policy enforced by the administration, prior to its reversal this week, those who crossed the border illegally were criminally prosecuted, which in turn resulted in the separation of children and parents. Our cover and our reporting capture the stakes of this moment." So that's all right, then.

"Callous. Soulless. Craven." Yes indeed, lovers of liberty everywhere. Trump is a monster. That's what TIME and the rest of the lamestream media would have you think, and they've been hammering away at that theme every blessed day since Mr Trump was elected. It doesn't matter what POTUS says or does because it's evil, pure evil, all the time. And that goes for his family too, as witness the hoorah over what was written on the back of Melania Trump's coat when she went to visit the holding facilities in TX to see for herself if all the fuss is justified. The New York Times headlined (((Vanessa Friedman's))) piece, "Melania Trump, Agent of Coat Chaos".

Dear readers, arentcha getting sick, sore and tired of the endless negativity, the ceaseless bashing and trashing of President Trump, his family and all his works? Watching or listening to the "news" on any outlet except Fox (or Canada's The Rebel) makes me want to SCREAM. So it was that I was delighted to read the following "report" on The Onion, yesterday. I quote their earnest plea for an end to all this in its entirety, except for one edit to delete a blasphemous (but common) expression of exasperation. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Claiming that they just couldn't stand this bullshit anymore, Americans across the country confirmed Thursday that someone, anyone needs to please, just make it stop. "Please, please, please, we're begging you here, just put an end to it immediately," said sources, noting that it had all gone way, way too far and they would do almost anything for even a few glorious minutes of respite. "We're on our hands and knees, pleading with you to make it all go away once and for all. What's it going to take? [Blasphemy deleted], just stop it! Stop it right now!" At press time, sources confirmed that they knew deep down it was never going to stop.
