Gay sex and drugs orgy inside the Vatican: just the facts

It has been some time since we've lifted the cone of silence with which the Vatican smothers reports of a gay lobby within its walls, extending into the highest echelons of the Roman Catholic Church. In January of 2014 I posted "Ex-chief of Swiss Guard confirms existence of 'homolobby' at Vatican", and there was a reference to the gay lobby in "Catholic bishops say 'interim report' asking Church to welcome homosexuals grossly misrepresented by pro-LGBT media", 14/10/17. But the three-year hiatus doesn't mean the gay lobby no longer exists. Oh no. It's still alive and kicking... and biting and hissing.

So open, notorious and indeed raucous have the queer priests' and bishops' activities become that the Vatican police have been forced to take action. Sometime last month, the Catholic coppers raided an apartment belonging to Monsignor Luigi Capozzi (pictured, left) the secretary of Francesco Cardinal Coccopalmerio, who serves as the president of the Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts. There they found a number of churchmen engaged in a drug-fuelled gay orgy. (Whether Monsignor Alan McCormack was there, or languishes in obscurity in Ottawa, is not known.)

Msgr Capozzi was ordained in 1992 and has worked in numerous roles within the Roman Catholic church ever since. A report in Il Fatto Quotidiano says he was about to be appointed a bishop, and was looking forward to having 1000s of the faithful kiss his ring.

Vatican police allegedly caught the monsignor -- an "ardent supporter of Pope Francis", according to the report -- after tenants in the building complained repeatedly about the constant coming and going of male visitors at all hours of the night. The building is currently being used by various high-ranking churchmen, including prefects, presidents, and secretaries to the Roman Curia.

Msgr Capozzi, who on his LinkedIn page calls himself an "expert in canon law and dogmatic theology", managed to evade suspicion by driving a BMW with Vatican licence plates, which he could only have got with the help of influential friends. The Holy See plates rendered him practically immune to stops and searches. Thus he was able to transport cocaine for his frequent homosexual orgies with impunity.

Il Fatto Quotidiano reported that the building's separate entrance from outside the Vatican walls made it perfect for clandestine activity. "Its main entrance, in fact, opens out directly onto the piazza of the Holy Office that is already Italian territory and is outside of the control of the Swiss Guard and of the Gendarmerie," they wrote. "Anyone, by day and by night, can freely enter into the Vatican by this entry without undergoing any inspection and without, of course, being put on record. A perfect location to enjoy the privileges of extraterritoriality but without having to be subject either to the inspections of the Italian State or to those of Vatican City."

At the time of his arrest, Msgr Capozzi was allegedly so high on cocaine that he had to be hospitalized for detoxification in the Pius XI clinic in Rome. He has since disappeared from the Vatican, and is said to be at an undisclosed convent somewhere outside of Rome, enjoying (?) a "spiritual retreat".

"Gay triumph now complete" - African journo mocks US Protestants' acceptance of Supreme Court gay "marriage" decision

African-born journalist Ken Mufuka writes a "Letter From America" every week in the Financial Gazette, one of Zimbabwe's courageously independent newspapers. This week his topic is Obergefell v. Hodges, the recent decision of the Supreme Court in which the dishonourable court, by a vote of 5-4, tortured the "equal protection" provisions of the Constitution into a finding that homosexuals (gays, lesbians, transexuals, bisexuals and queers in general) have the same rights as straight folk to marry and have their nuptials celebrated by society.

Gay "marriage" maybe be against God's law, but it's now the law of the USA. God save the United States of America!

Well, that's Walt's view. In "Gay Triumph Now Complete", Mr. Mufuka [pronounced with a long "U". Ed.] takes an even dimmer view of the decision, but he takes much longer to say so. Walt has excerpted some of the more acidic bits of his column. The words are Mr. Mufuka's; the emphasis is mine.

July 4, or Independence Day, commemorates the overthrow of the British imperialists by American patriots in the war of independence. It is big deal, as they say here. Citizens use this day to blow off steam, dance in public and generally engage in good-natured goofy behaviour, even disgracing themselves. It is all done in good faith. The police look the other way.

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) “community” had the best July 4th celebrations ever. They say that such a joyous time as this comes only once in a millennium. Their celebrations started June 27, when the US supreme court announced two rulings.

A pro-gay reprobate judge, Anthony Kennedy, announced the judgment. The issue was whether same sex marriages were protected in the US constitution. To cut a long story short, marriage is not mentioned because it was assumed, supported by immemorial custom that a man shall leave his home to find a damsel and marry her.

Having failed to find a constitutional clause, the reprobate judge strained all sensibilities to create one out of thin air, calling it equal protection under law. Same sex partners, wrote the pro-gay judge, bring with them the hope that in their marriages they are not “condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization’s oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right.”

Chief Justice John Roberts, who disagreed with the decree, nevertheless, saw the earth shattering impact it had on the future of the world. The decision cannot be justified on moral or historical grounds.
The fact remains that United States is an exceptional, confirmed in its own righteousness. As such arrangements have been put in place for the advancement of the gay agenda to the world.

Protestant denominations...had foreseen the gay decision, they were unprepared for the onslaught within their own organizations.... Infiltrated by earthly philosophies over the years, they were left wondering in the wilderness, as gay forces outflanked and swiftly destroyed all opposition. South Carolina Methodists barely survived a gay resolution, but it was very close, 752 votes against 550. The pro-gay lobby promised that “they will be back, the fight is not over.”

The 3.8 million members Lutheran Church (USA) which split into two denominations over the issue revisited it with wisdom gained from experience. Each individual denomination will, after prayer, instruct their pastor whether they will permit gay weddings in their church.

The Anglicans, meeting in Utah, the home of the polygamous Mormon Christians, suffered resounding defeat, 173 delegates in favour, against last-stand motley of 27 resisters. There is another juicy change among Anglicans. Gays can now be married in the full communion of the church, and church wedding bells are allowed. Little boys and girls can walk in the isle to present flowers to a gay couple.

When the deputies took on another position on gender neutral religion, they suffered a worse defeat, 184 supporting the change against miserable 23. In this second resolution, God is no longer “Our Father in Heaven” but the Creator of the Universe. It is, however, alright to say: “God our Mother in Heaven” or to say: “The faith of our mothers.”

It's tempting for us Catholics -- especially traditional Catholics -- to sneer at the Protestants' capitulation to the homonazis, but Holy Mother Church is not immune from the cancers of moral rot and political correctness. The pro-queer agenda, along with weakening of the Church's laws on divorce and remarriage is being pushed relentlessly by the gay lobby in the Vatican and in the liberal churches of Germany and the low countries. This fall will see another Synod on the Family, at which same sex "marriage" will be back on the table. Stay tuned.

Last gay toon standing? - Part 1

For over 40 years now, the large and influential gay lobby in the meeja and more liberal "Christian" churches have been trying to convince us that it's OK to be gay. Commendable, even, especially when someone who kept his/her gender preference to him/herself comes out of the closet. What good is being homosexual if you can't flaunt it?

That's why, beginning in 1972, TV shows in western, "Christian" countries have increasingly featured characters who are openly gay. This is especially the case in sitcoms, where it's become almost mandatory to have at least one gay character -- always the cleverest, coolest, funniest one -- to prove that it not just OK, but hip to be gay.

It all started with Peter Panama, a character in the mercifully short-lived sitcom The Corner Bar. [Was that the one with Sam and Woody and Cliff and Norm...all those gay guys? Ed.] NO! That was another corner bar and those guys weren't gay... at least, not all of them! Anyway, Peter Panama, played by Vincent Schiavelli, was "the first continuing portrayal of a gay person on American television".

In 1975 we saw the first gay couple, the lovely George and Gordon, in Hot l Baltimore. You can look it up. Inevitably, gay characters were introduced in cartoons. This was not done to influence impressionable children, of course, because we all know that modern cartoon series are really for adults. I speak of The Simpsons, South Park and Family Guy, which I admit to watching and from which these examples are taken.

South Park's Big Gay Al is a stereotypical homosexual man, known for his flamboyant and positive demeanor. For example, he almost always responds to the greeting "How are you?" with an upbeat "I'm super! Thanks for asking!" In the episode which sticks deepest in Walt's Mind, he took the position of scout master of troop 69, for which he was super-qualified, having been in the scouts since he was nine years old. Was it then that he discovered he was a homosexual? We aren't told...

The kids' parents were uneasy about a gay scout leader, so Big Gay Al was fired. But the boys didn't like the new leader -- a person whose sexual tastes were a lot more threatening -- and rallied to get BGA re-accepted. But Al rejected this, saying the scouts are a private club, and have the right to exclude people if they choose to, just as he has the right to express himself as a gay man.

Big Gay Al last appeared in "The F Word", which originally aired on 4 November 2009. For all his flamboyance (etc etc), he was, on the whole, a sympathetic character, kind of a warm and cuddly...and gay...teddybear. It was hard to dislike him.

But there was a dark side to Big Gay Al. In "Follow That Egg", we find him getting engaged to Mr. Slave (pictured left), who previously was the homosexual lover of Herbert Garrison, the South Park kids' school teacher. (Remember the name "Herbert"; it'll come up again.) Mr. Garrison starts a campaign to ban gay marriage, but fails, and Al and Mr. Slave are united in unholy matrimony. (It's worth noting that South Park is set in Colorado.)

Mr. Slave is far being a benign and cuddly character. His first major role was in "The Death Camp of Tolerance", in which Mr. Garrison learns that he can sue the school board if he is fired for being gay, so he hires Mr. Slave as his "TA" -- "Teacher's Ass". The lessons become increasingly sexual, and degenerate in nature, culminating in Mr. Garrison inserting the class gerbil into Mr. Slave's rectum. Not exactly the sort of behaviour you'd want your kids to emulate, is it. But there was no "Don't try this at home!" warning.

Walt also found offensive Mr. Slave's catchphrase, "Oooh, Jeez Christ!" or "Oh Jesus, Jesus Christ!", always delivered in a quavering lisp. He was rarely heard saying anything else. He last appeared in "201", on 21 April 2010.

Last gay toon standing? - Part 2

As detailed in Part 1 (above), South Park has (or had) its pervert named Herbert -- Herbert Garrison, the queer school teacher and sometime homosexual lover of Mr. Slave. Sure enough, Family Guy has one too. That would be John Herbert, US Army (retd) and neighbour to the lovable Griffin family. Well, maybe you don't find the Griffins lovable, but Herbert the Pervert does. Well, not all of them. Just Chris, the stupid teenage son.

"Mr. Herbert" is an elderly pedohebephile (you can look it up) who lives alone with his old, crippled dog, Jesse. He has a high-pitched, very soft, effeminate voice and speaks with a slight whistle lisp -- pretty tricky for the voice actor to do. He is often seen wearing a light blue robe and slippers and gets around with the aid of a zimmer-frame walker.

The old bugger became fixated on Chris in "To Love and Die in Dixie", in which Chris had a newspaper route that included Herbert's house. As he tries to persuade Chris to come inside, he gives his views on women -- "Who needs 'em?" -- revealing himself as a misogynist and/or gay as 18 balloons. When the Griffins returned from the South, Herbert left 113 messages asking what had happened to the nice boy who used to deliver his newspaper.

But that was nothing new, for Herbert frequently makes "inappropriate, sexually-tinged comments" to and about teenage boys. Here's a sample.



After first appearing in "To Love and Die in Dixie", Herbert became a major character, having a part in four to six episodes every season through the end of Season 12 last spring. But so far this season, he has had only a cameo in September's crossover spectacular "The Simpsons Guy".

Walt wonders why the writers didn't go for the obvious gag, and have Herbert develop a crush on Waylon Smithers... or vice versa... a very apposite phrase in this case. Could it be that Seth MacFarlane has finally figured out that pedophilia (or pedohebephilia) really isn't very funny?

UPDATED: Catholic bishops say "interim report" asking Church to welcome homosexuals grossly misrepresented by pro-LGBT media

Much backing and filling at the Vatican Tuesday night over jubilant lamestream press reports that the Synod of Bishops now in progress (if such a word can be used) has recommended that the Church welcome homosexuals and all the "gifts and qualities" they can bring to Her. Before we get to the update, please read Walt's initial reaction, posted here earlier today.

Walt is struck dumb [He means "speechless". Ed.] by this weekend's news from the Vatican. In a preliminary report halfway through their Synod on family life, Catholic bishops in conference assembled are recommending "accepting and valuing" LGBT [He means "queer"... Well, that's what they call themselves! Ed.] faithful and all the "gifts and qualities" they can bring to the Church. I will resist the temptation to make any snide or sarcastic comments, reminding myself that the true teaching of Holy Mother Church is to hate the sin -- see St. Paul's Epistle to the Romans, 1:24-29 -- but love the sinner.

Having said that, if homosexuality is to be regarded by the "new, improved Catholic Church" as something better than "disordered", and if homosexuals are to be made welcome in our communities, what about same-sex "marriages"? The bishops' report reaffirms the Church's teaching that marriage is for a man and woman only, but at the same time says the church must recognize the "positive" aspects of civil unions, with the aim of bringing Catholics who live together without benefit of clergy to a lifelong commitment in a church wedding. Would that be regardless of the gender of the partners? Walt awaits a clear answer.

While waiting, Walt remembers the words of Joseph Priestley -- no pun intended -- an English theologian, who said in 1761 that "in all controversies, it is better to await the decisions of time, which are slow and sure, than to take those of synods, which are often hasty and injudicious."

Footnote: Economists and marketers will tell you that the LGBT crowd is one of the most affluent "market segments" of North American society. Not having children -- well, most of them, anyway -- on whom to squander their incomes, they have oodles of money to splash around on nice clothes, entertainment, and so on. I'll leave the "so on" to your imagination. Of course the queers' affluence has nothing whatever to do with the bishops' willingness to embrace them.

And now the "correction", as reported in "Pushback on Synod document" on the Catholic Culture website. As their analysis is a bit lengthy for this space, I'll just copy the key paragrahs.

Controversy sharpened at the Synod of Bishops, as many prelates have complained that an interim report released on October 13 did not accurately represent the thoughts of the Synod fathers, and the Vatican press office hastened to announce that “a value has been attributed to the document that does not correspond to its nature.

The relatio post disceptationem, which was intended to summarize the discussion during the first week of the October synod, "is a working document," the Vatican observed in an unusual statement released on the day after the document appeared. The press office emphasized that the relatio was designed not to be an authoritative statement, but to be the basis for discussion during the second week of Synod deliberations.

Cardinal Raymond Burke, who has been consistently outspoken in his defense of Church teaching regarding marriage, charged that the relatio did not accurately reflect the Synod discussions but "in fact, advances positions which many Synod Fathers do not accept and, I would say, as faithful shepherds of the flock cannot accept." The American cardinal reported that "a great number of the Synod fathers found it objectionable."

Many prelates observed that the early release of the relatio had triggered an enormous volume of media coverage, much of it inaccurate, conveying the impression that the Church would change her teachings. (BBC provided a vivid example of this sort of analysis, announcing that Pope Francis had "scored a first quiet victory" in the document and saying that the Pontiff had "convinced many Catholic Church leaders to moderate their formerly strongly critical language about gay unions.")

"We’re now working from a position that’s virtually irredeemable," said South African Cardinal Wilfrid Fox Napier, referring to the media coverage. "The message has gone out that this is what synod is saying, that this is what the Catholic Church is saying," he said. "Whatever we say hereafter will seem like we’re doing damage control." [Indeed! Walt]

With a week still remaining before this session of the Synod concludes, it seems clear that critics of the relatio will organize a strong campaign to ensure that the Synod’s final document is very different from the interim report.

That was a close one, wasn't it... But if the bishops think they've dodged a rainbow-coloured bullet, Walt would advise them not to underestimate the power of the LGBT lobby, both in the lamestream media and within the Vatican itself!

Ex-chief of Swiss Guard confirms existence of "homolobby" at Vatican

We've been calling it the "gay lobby". The Dutch have a better word for it -- homolobby. And yes, Virginia, there really is such a thing, within the Vatican! So says Elmar Mäder, commander of the Swiss Guard from 2002 to 2008.

"I know from personal experience that the gay lobby exists," Herr Mäder told the Swiss weekly Schweiz am Sonntag, according to a report on Kerknet, the website of the Church in Flanders. He was responding to questions about reports in which an unidentified member of the Swiss Guard had claimed that he had been the target of sexual advances made by a number of officials of the Curia.

Herr Mäder went on to say that active homosexuals [as opposed to passive homosexuals? Ed.] within the Vatican comprise a virtual "secret society". Because they are more loyal to each other than the Holy See, he added, "it becomes a security risk."

In June 2013, while discussing problems within the Roman Curia during a conversation with religious leaders from Latin America, Pope Francis alluded to the same problem. "There is talk about a 'gay lobby'," he said, "and it's true, that exists."

Neither the Holy Father nor Herr Mäder mentioned the name of Msgr Alan McCormack (pictured), an official in the Chancery of the Archdiocese of Toronto until he was transferred to... wait for it... the office of the Congregation for the Defence of the Faith in Rome in the wake of a libel action by Father Nicholas Gruner.

In 2004, after the court action had been kicked into the long grass, Msgr. McCormack returned to Canada as Judicial Vicar of the Canadian Appeal Tribunal, a position which placed him about as far from the public eye -- and any parish -- as a priest can get. Msgr. McCormack resigned from that post on 29 February 2012. Walt does not know if he returned to the Vatican or not.

Nothing "gay" about Hallmark Christmas ornament

Hallmark Cards is about much more than greetings cards. Much, much more! Look at their online catalogue and you'll see all kinds of stuff. Including "keepsake ornaments", which include 287 "Christmas" ornaments (of which a mere 20 are "faith-related").

One of the "secular" Christmas ornaments is this lovely miniature sweather -- you'll find it about a third of the way down the page -- bearing a phrase from the old Christmas carol "Deck the Halls with Boughs of Holly". [Isn't it "Deck Us All with Boston Charlie"? Ed.]
But, as you can see, the phrase has been updated a bit. Hallmark seems to think no-one wants to don "gay apparel" any more, so they've changed the adjective to "fun". "Don we now our fun apparel"... Doesn't have quite the same ring, does it. And, as surely as Boxing Day follows Christmas, the change has drawn the wrath of the LGBT "community".

On Thursday a spokesthingy for Hallmark Twittered, "We’ve been surprised at the wide range of reactions expressed about the change of lyrics on this ornament, and we’re sorry to have caused so much concern. We never intend to offend or make political statements with our products, and in hindsight we realize we shouldn’t have changed the lyrics on the ornament."

Hallmark did not say where negative reaction to the ornament came from, but according to Reuters a leader of at least one gay rights organization said on Friday that the company went overboard in using the word "fun" on the ornament. "The whole thing seems silly to us," lisped Mitch Levine, "community ambassador" of the Lesbian and Gay Community Center of Kansas City.

Perhaps Hallmark should send Mr(?) Levine one of their "craven apology" cards!

"You need a strong heart today"

Unilever, the makers of Flora margarine, are keen to promote their product as good for your heart. To cope with the modern world, you need a strong heart, right? Sure. And here's how international advertising agency Lowe and Partner made the point in a print ad which ran... briefly... in South Africa.

"You need a strong heart today" is the strap line. What??? You don't get it? Well, see, there's a china heart and it's about to be shattered by the little bullet coming from the left. Something wrong with that?

Yes, I can read what the bullet says -- "Uhh, Dad I'm gay". So what? Ohhh... It's not politically correct to suggest that a man's heart could be broken by his son's telling him "I'm gay." That's not "gay friendly", according to UK-based gay rights group Stonewall, which described the advert as "offensive and inappropriate" ("inappropriate" being the worst possible pejorative in this PC age).

Do you think Unilever or its agency would grow a set and tell Stonewall to try developing a sense of humour? Nooo... The ad has been withdrawn and profuse mea culpas ["mea culpae"? Ed.] have been issued by all concerned. Score another one for the gay lobby.

Another win for the gay lobby: Canada to welcome gay refugees from Russia

A previous WWW post reported REAL Women of Canada's rebuke to their country's not-openly gay foreign affairs minister, Johnboy Baird, for the shrillness of his gay rights crusade. We pointed out that Baird is not the only closet queen in the Canadian government. The other confirmed bachelor is Jason Kenney, who was Minister of Immigration until a mini-shuffle this summer saw his well-padded posterior moved to Labour.

Mr. Kenney may have moved, but his LGBT-friendly policies linger on. While running Immigration, he brought in a policy of trying to resettle gay Muslims fleeing from persecution in Iran and Iraq.

In January he said he "cannot think of a more obvious case of persecution". We guess China's Tibetans and Uighurs are less obvious. Or maybe they just don't have the support of the gay lobby in the government and media elites of Canuckistan.

Today comes an announcement by Mr. Kenney's successor, Chris Alexander, that Canada will be bending over to welcome gays fleeing "persecution" in Russia! In referring to the Russian government's new laws prohibiting pro-queer propaganda, Chris the Boy Wonder said "any refugee claims related to this particular issue will of course be looked at very seriously by [Canada's] very generous system." The italics are Len's.

The mind boggles. Are Canadians really that stupid? Do they not realize that their ridiculously "balanced" immigration system is being gamed by the scum of the entire earth? Does Canada really need more bogus refugees to swell the ranks of hairdressers, interior designers and, yes, welfare claimants in Toronto's Church/Wellesley "community".

Readers' comments in the lamestream media on the REAL Women story, the controversy over the Sochi Olympics, and this latest twist are running heavily against Johnboy and Jason's pro-gay stance. There is an evident disconnect between the words and actions of the Canadian government and the majority of Canadians outside of the chattering classes.

One comment appended to the Globe and Mail's article says "It seems that we live in a democratic laboratory where people are just mice. Maybe once in a while referendums should be organized on hot topics, like in Switzerland. In this way people could have a voice directly and misrepresentation would be avoided (and Baird would stand corrected)."

Indeed, Kudos to "Val Kovacs" for saying what so many Canadians are thinking. But will Steve Harper and his gay caballeros listen? Len thinks there are two chances...

Gay Canuck foreign minister condemned by REAL Women

John "John" Baird is Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs, one of the top three in Steve Harpoon's Conservative cabinet. His bio in Wikipedia says nothing about his wife and kids, for the very good reason that he hasn't got any. Johnboy, you see, is a confirmed bachelor and notorious pillow-biter.

It should have come as no surprise, then, to REAL Women of Canada or anyone else, that Baird should have thrown a hissy-fit over the new Russian laws prohibiting gay propaganda. Anytime the LGBT agenda is being defended -- or crammed down our throats [or some other orifice. Ed.] -- you can bet John will get up off his knees and condemn the terrible "homophobes" who dare to suggest that there's something wrong with being gay.

Today, however, the very straight REAL Women of Canada issued a press release, excoriating Minister Baird for defending gay rights on the world stage, saying his views are at odds with Canadian values and even those of his fellow tories (except perhaps for the Hon. Jason Kenney).

According to REAL Women, Johnboy routinely abuses his cabinet post "to further his own perspective on homosexuality." Their criticism is linked to Baird’s defence of same-sex rights in places like Uganda and Russia. As reported here recently, the Russian government has incurred the wrath of the worldwide gay lobby for a new law that criminalizes the promotion of homosexuality and "gay rights", particularly to minors, and outlaws gay rallies and the use of the media to promote the LGBT agenda.

Baird revealed last week that Canada has been working for months trying to convince Russia not to implement the law. In an interview with The Canadian Press, Baird said the “mean-spirited and hateful law” is an “incitement to intolerance.”

Gwendolyn Landolt, national vice-president of REAL Women of Canada, told a Canadian Press interviewer that Baird was "meddling" when he raised such concerns. "It really is offensive," she said. "The issue is really why is he interfering in a sovereign country’s legislation? He really has no business to do that."

"I don’t want other countries to get what we have here where people’s religious values and traditional values are being pushed aside and giving homosexuals priority," Ms Landolt added. "According to Mr. Baird it’s a protection of human rights but it’s not universally accepted. It’s not a Canadian value."

REAL Women's news release says that "homosexual activists" have become a "tyrannical minority" -- not exactly news but it's refreshing that someone had the guts to say it.

Vatican insider identifies "prelate of the gay lobby"

Who said there's a well-entrenched gay lobby within the highest levels of the Roman Catholic Church -- within the Vatican itself? Pope Francis, that's who! On June 6th the Holy Father told a group of religious from Latin America, "In the curia there is talk of a 'gay lobby.' And it is true, it's there." Unfortunately, the Pope said, he wasn't sure what he could do about it because he was (as yet?) "too disorganized".

Turns out Pope Francis didn't know for sure who amongst the hundreds of Vatican officials and functionaries were closet queens. Lots of fingers were pointed but not with enough certainty that action could be taken. 

Just a few days ago -- according to noted Vaticanista Sandra Magister, writing today in l'Espresso -- the Pope told an Argentinian friend, "It is not easy. Here there are many of the pope's 'bosses' with great seniority of service". Now, Sr Magister says, some of these "bosses" have hatched against [Pope] Bergoglio "the cruelest and most subtle deception since he was elected".

They kept in the dark important information, had the Pope known it before, would have kept him from appointing Monsignor Battista Ricca "prelate” of the Institute for Works of Religion (IoR), the mysterious "Vatican bank" which has for some time been under investigation for money laundering and other forms of (alleged) corruption.

Just one week after appointing the "prelate", Sr Magister tells us, the pope became aware, from multiple sources, of a "black hole" in Msgr Ricca's personal history. Msgr Ricca was sent to the Vatican's diplomatic mission to Uruguay in 1999. He brought with him a captain of the Swiss army [not the Swiss Guard -- the army of Switzerland. Ed.] named Patrick Haari. The two had met while Msgr Ricca was posted to Bern. Such a close relationship developed that Msgr Ricca demanded that his "friend" be given a role and a residence in the nunciature in Montevideo.

According to Sr Magister, "The intimacy of the relations between Ricca and Haari was so open as to scandalize numerous bishops, priests, and laity of the little South American country, not last the sisters who attended to the nunciature." The real question, of course, is why no-one said anything about Msgr Ricca's "alternative lifestyle" before his appointment to head the IoR. Sr Magister write, "a blanket of public silence has covered until today these past episodes of the monsignor."

He continues, "at the Vatican there are some who actively promoted this cover-up operation. By blocking the investigations from the time of the events until today. By concealing the reports from the nuncio. By keeping Ricca's personal file immaculate. In this way they facilitated a prestigious new career for Ricca."

Sadly, Sr Magister is (for the moment) unable to name names. Cardinal Battista Re is 79. Cardinal Bertone is only 78.

Innocent question: Speaking of monsignors... whatever became of Msgr Alan McCormack, formerly an official of the Archdiocese of Toronto, who was sued (in the Supreme Court of Ontario, a civil court) by Father Nicholas Gruner, for publishing the lie that Father Gruner is not a priest. Last we heard, Msgr McCormack had been transferred to the Vatican, then back to Canada, where he was Judicial Vicar of the Canadian Appeal Tribunal until his resignation in February of last year. Where he is now is yet another Mystery of the Church.

Does Russian Duma's political incorrectness mean the Fatima prophecy is being fulfilled?

Astounding news from Russia. The Duma -- the lower house of Russia's parliament -- has flown in the face of all that's politically correct by striking not one but two blows at the secular humanists, LGBT "rights" promoters and other "progressive thinkers".

Yesterday the Duma passed a bill imposing up to three years in jail on those who offend "religious believers". Most Russians who are "believers" are Russian Orthodox Christians, but the new law (once approved by the Senate and signed by President Putin) would presumably cover Jews, Muslims and followers of other faiths.

The law follows the imprisonment of punk rockers Pussy Riot for desecrating an Orthodox cathedral by performing an anti-Putin protest in February 2012. Two band members, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina, are currently serving two-year jail terms for the offence.

So that's a good bit of pushback for Christians (and others) who feel that they're being belittled and demonized by the lamestream media and other "Forces for Progress" in the Western world.

Russian "gay rights" activists also have reason to feel dismayed. On the same day as the pro-religion bill was passed, the Duma also unanimously approved a law imposing heavy fines for providing information about homosexuality to people under 18.

Under the new law, private individuals promoting "homosexual behaviour among minors" face fines of up to 5,000 rubles (US$155) while officials risk paying ten times that amount. Businesses and schools promoting the LGBT agenda -- whether under the guise of "sex education" or otherwise -- could be fined as much as 500,000 rubles!

Although homosexuality was decriminalised in Russia in 1993, anti-gay sentiment is running high. A recent poll found that nearly half of Russians believe that the gay and lesbian community should not enjoy the same rights as other citizens.

Walt wonder why this is. Why is it that the Russians are embracing new laws (and old beliefs) which the Western media tell us are backward, anti-progressive, and contrary to Everything that's Right and Good in our wonderful New Age Society?

Our Lady of Fatima warned us that if Russia was not converted (by Consecration to Her Immaculate Heart), its errors would spread throughout the world. And so it would appear to those "Fatimists" and others who have studied Our Lady's prophecy.

Some Catholics believe the Consecration has been done, and that the fall of Communism represents the promised conversion. The "Fatimists" say this is not so, that the Consecration has never been done publicly, by the Pope in union with all the bishops, as the Blessed Virgin asked. But if that's the case, how should we understand what's happening in Russia today?

Our Lady of Fatima also said that once Russia was converted, that nation would become the instrument by which the rest of the world would be converted to the Christian Faith. Traditional Catholics take that to mean to the Catholic Faith. But, given the diabolical disorientation of the mainstream Church today, perhaps that Faith is to be found elsewhere.

Footnote and WOW! Walt is not imagining the "diabolical disorientation" referred to in the previous paragraph. Just today we have a report from AFP that Pope Francis himself confirmed the existence of a gay lobby within the Roman Curia.

The Vatican's Chief Flak-catcher, Father Federico Lombardi, said he had "no comment" on anything the Holy Father might have said in "a private meeting". And that's all ye need to know.
