In denial about black crime in Toronto

Back in the hippy-dippy `60s -- beginning around 1964-5 with the passage of the Civil Rights Acts -- a wave of white guilt swept across America. Nearly 100 years after the end of the Civil War, black people were still discriminated against, disadvantaged and "marginalized" not just in the South but all over the US of A, and by golly the enlightened progressive thinkers of Washington, New York and Los Angeles were going to fix all that, with just a couple of strokes of LBJ's pen.

Where the US leads, Canada will surely follow. The problem for Canada's Liberal government was that, at that time, Canada didn't have very many citizens of the coloured persuasion on whom to lavish love and money in reparation for the sins of the horrible segregationists to the south. Solution? Import some black people, so Canadians could rejoice in being more tolerant, inclusive and (let's face it) smug. Wide were thrown the gates of immigration, with invitations extended to anyone and everyone from Guyana northward to Chicago and all points in between. Especially Jamaica.

What Canada imported on the No-longer-underground Railroad was black crime, and lots of it. Before long, Toronto newspapers had perpetrator descriptions including phrases like "spoke with a Jamaican accent" set in cold type. That phrase, and even the use of the words "Negro" [arch. Ed.] and "black" were dropped from crime stories, because (of course) they weren't politically correct. How in hell, the cops asked, do you expect us to catch any criminals if we can only say they're "male", of a a certain height and weight? But if you say they're black, the liberals moaned, you're demonizing a whole group of people, some of whom might actually be innocent! Describing people with reference to their colour is racist!

Half a century later, in Canada even more than in the USA, we have the same censorship, the same political correctness...in spades! [Watch it! Ed.] Today the Toronto meeja reported that the coppers had rounded up 16 of the usual suspects in connection to an armed robbery ring allegedly committed by gang members originating from the northwest corridor of Toronto. They identified the two gangs involved as The Complex Crip Gangsters and the Treyy Money Gang.

Nowhere in the story on the Global News website will you find the word "black". Nor will you see the names of the accused, names like "Javonte", "Shamir", "Lamar" and "Marvin". Nor will you find a picture of any of the accused in which his face is visible. To have your suspicions confirmed, you need to go to the official news release from the Toronto Police Service, where you will see these pictures.

Black people make up something like 10-15 percent of Toronto's population. (Whites are in the minority, by the way.) Yet they account for roughly 90% of the city's murderers and murderees, and the majority of criminals accused of crimes like holding up convenience stores. (The convenience store owners are almost always south and east Asians. The CBC actually has an alleged sitcom called Kim's Convenience!) Call me a racist if you like, but those are the facts in the "world class city" which is forever "celebrating diversity". If I lived in Toronto, I wouldn't be celebrating. I'd be moving!

BLM vs LGBTQ vs cops at Toronto's "Pride" parade

Much consternation in Canada's biggest city yesterday over a disruption of what's billed as the world's biggest Pride Parade. The disruptors? None other than the local chapter of the overtly racist Black Lives Matter (BLM) "movement". The gays allowed BLM to march in their annual queer-a-thon to publicize their ongoing campaign against police brutality, racism, yada yada yada, only to have the BLMers -- why are so many of them fat white women? -- sit down in the middle of the parade, bringing the whole thing to a standstill for half an hour.

Why, you may ask [if you live on another planet. Ed.] did they do that? Well, it was a case of blackmail -- pun intended. BLM refused to end their squat-in until the head queers signed their list of demands for space, logistical support and (of course) money for BQY. Wozzat? Black Queer Youth... of course! The list also included a demand that there be no more police floats and booths at future parades or other "community" events. This is the one that rankled Toronto's finest, who are well known to be big supporters of LGBT causes. Queer constables have been mincing in lockstep with the civilians for years, and Toronto's police chief (a beneficiary of affirmative action) only last week apologized to the gay community for bathhouse raids that took place over 30 years ago.

So... the coordinators of the Pride parade signed off on BLM's demands, and are now backing and filling furiously to deny that any real commitment to ban the cops from future participation was given. We only agreed to have a "conversation" about it, say the head queers. BLM calls it a "pinkwash". Their spokesthingy, Jenaya Khan (a south Asian lady who does her hair in cornrows) told the meeja, "This type of pink-washing that's happening, where it's like, 'We're in alignment with gender and sexually diverse people, but not in alignment with racialized people,' we can't stand for that."

The comic figures in all this are Canuck politicians, all of whom are decidedly liberal and "progressive" when it comes to gay rights... and black rights... of course. Canada's glamour-boy Prime Minister Trudeau was the star of the parade, along with Ontario's openly lesbian Premier Kathleen Wynne. Leaders of all the opposition parties joined in the gaiety as well. In Canada nowadays, you can't afford not to turn out for an event that draws 1000s of affluent voters. Did M Trudeau or Ms Wynne or any of the others intervene to mediate the confrontation between the sexually diverse and the racialized? Errr, no.

Walt is enjoying this immensely. Watching the liberal pols and chattering classes twist themselves into pretzels so as not to come down on one side of the fence or t'other is a delight. You can just about hear their brains cramping. Public opinion -- for what it's worth in a land where governments pay not attention to the governed -- is running about 99 to 1 in favour of the queers and cops, which means against the blacks. But hold 'er Newt! How can anyone be against blacks? Don't black lives matter? Errr... errr... errr....

Why cops "pick on" young black men - a few choice quotes

Ed. here. Good journalists don't -- or shouldn't -- string together a bunch of quotes and call it a story. Walt does that, sometimes, but Walt is a mere blogger, not a journalist. Ronald Mascarenhas is not a journalist either. He's a Canadian management consultant. He's also something of a media favourite, writing and speaking about labour management and other timely topics. He has a piece in today's National Post entitled "In defence of carding*, and the police", from which we've lifted a few quotes from other professors and pundits.

"[Police] go where crime occurs. We go where the community calls us to go." (Toronto Deputy Chief Peter Sloly, quoted in the Toronto Star.

"I want my officers to be talking to people on the street engaging them, finding out what’s going on." (Peel Region Police Chief Jennifer Evans.

"Carding is an invaluable intelligence-gathering service. You’re recording data, setting up associations, knowing who’s involved [in gang activity]." (Police union president Mike McCormack, 2010)

"[Carding] is not necessarily discrimination and instead, is affected by where crime occurs, victimization, demographics and even policing policies and patterns." UCLA psychologist Phillip Atiba Goff, founder of the Center for Policing Equity, and an independent reviewer of the Toronto police,

"Blacks account for 8.1% of the population, [yet] they account for nearly 27 per cent of all the charges laid for violent crimes – homicides, sex assaults and gun offences," and the felons are "disproportionately Jamaican.... Our society is deeply conflicted over minority-group statistics-keeping. When it’s for socially progressive reasons, such as employment equity and affirmative action, we think it’s virtuous. But when it records negative behaviour, we think it’s terrible." (Margaret Wente, in the Globe and Mail, 2002)

"If blacks are overrepresented in the ranks of the imprisoned [in the USA], it is because blacks are overrepresented in the criminal ranks -- and the violent criminal ranks, at that." (John DiIulio, University of Pennsylvania political scientist)

"Even if racism exists, it might explain only a small part of the gap between the 11% black representation in the United States adult population and the now nearly 50% black representation among persons entering state prisons each year in the United States." (Patrick A. Langan, statistician, United States Bureau of Justice Statistics)

"Blacks commit an astoundingly disproportionate number of crimes.... Blacks constitute about 13% of the population, yet between 1976 and 2005 they committed more than half of all murders in the U.S. … So long as blacks are committing such an outsized amount of crime, young black men will be viewed suspiciously and tensions between police and crime-ridden communities will persist." (Jason L. Riley, journalist who writes in the Wall Street Journal, and author of Please Stop Helping Us: How Liberals Make It Harder for Blacks to Succeed. Mr. Riley is... errr...black.)

* Carding is what Toronto police call "the documentation of individuals for the purpose of public safety". It is analogous to the New York City police SQF -- Stop, Question and Frisk -- policy.

Arrest made in multiracial Yonge Street stomp

Agent 3 sends along another update on the Toronto stomping which has become a big video hit on the Internet. Toronto police have moved with surprising alacrity [quickly, too! Ed.] to arrest one of the perps, a 15-year-old girl from Brampton, whose identity is protected under Canada's Be Kind to Young Criminals Act.

Agent 3, who grew up in Brampton, refers to the city as "the Jane-Finch Extension". He says readers will know what he means. He has now moved to "a lighter part of Canada".

Meanwhile, CBC Radio's Toronto flagship station -- "Sounding like Toronto looks" -- jealous as hell of its TV cousin ["Looking like Toronto looks"? Ed.] has broadcast the audio portion of the now-infamous video.

Why they would do this is a mystery, given that the sound alone makes it clear that the stompee was white and the stompers were, errr, not white. Another example of the racial harmony and we's-all-brothers mentality for which Toronto is renowned.

Update: Stompee wasn't pregnant after all

Agent 3 has been following the story of the assault by a gang of racially mixed trash on a woman who appeared to be pregnant. This happened in Toronto on Friday night, and a video of the MMA event is all over the Net, including Walt's previous post.

Initial reports were that the woman who got stomped was pregnant, and she certainly appeared so in the video. However, Toronto's Finest [Who dat? Ed.] have investigated, and have ascertained that the victim was not pregnant, after all.

Guess she was a confirmed beer drinker, or maybe just plain fat. Perhaps she's been snacking on Chips Ahoy Middles.

The Old Bill is still looking for the perps. Maybe they can track down the "Anonymous" gangsta who commented on Walt's previous post.

Kemi still on the lam in Canada

Walt knows some Toronto-area readers are huge fans of Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo. Don't even try to say it; let's just call her "Kemi O". Ms O is a Nigerian [I'd never have guessed that. Ed.] who migrated to the USA, and then, having worn out her welcome there, came to Canada as a fugitive from the US justice systems. She has been in Toronto for a number of years, and makes her living by selling drugs. Check out "The skinny on Kemi" for details.

In her spare time, the lovely Kemi is a self-appointed consultant to and spokesthingy for Toronto's sizeable "black community". Her brief is to make the racist Canadians understand that black-on-black crime -- running at an average of one shooting per weekend -- has nothing to do with the face that the victims and the perps are, errr, black. And, errr, mostly Jamaican too. Just a coincidence, because the Somalis shoot each other too, dontcha know. Oh, that's in Edmonton. Well, anyway...it's definitely not just a "Jamaican thing".

And even if it is, Kemi tells us today, it's not the fault of the young Jamaicans involved because, you see, they aren't really Jamaicans. A lot of them were born in Canada -- to baby mommas and Jamaican daddies who seem to have vanished -- so that makes them Canadians! Just plain, unhyphenated Canadians, unlike the Italians and Ukrainians and Dutch, who still think of themselves as Italian-Canadian or whatever.

Walt is not making this up. I'm referring to an article which appeared (briefly) in the online edition of today's Toronto Sun. Ed. was on his coffee break and forgot to bookmark it, so I can't give you a link, but trust me, it was there!

Ms O was commenting on the traditional Thanksgiving Day murder, which occurred on Monday (Canadian Thanksgiving) right on schedule, just as it has for the last seven years. All the victims were Jamaicans or Jamaican-Canadians or black Canadians -- whatever -- and if any of the murderers are ever apprehended they will almost certainly be from the same "community".

Kemi told the Sun's Chris Doucette that the young men's delinquency is the fault of Canadian society, for failing to give them the education, social services etc etc to which their Canadian birth entitles them. Obviously. If only, instead of building more jails, the Canadian government had provided more basketball courts, more legal shooting galleries and more recording studios for aspiring rap artists. Without these things, is it any wonder they turn to a life of crime!

Investigations of the murders have been largely fruitless, owing to the racism of the Toronto police and, errr, the reluctance of the "community" to rat out the local Cripps and Bloods and other gangstas. It seems, too, that the Toronto cops haven't been in any hurry to check on Kemi's immigration status -- or lack thereof -- or extradite her to Georgia, where a warrant for her arrest is still outstanding.

PS - What's up with the love affair between Chris Doucette and Ms O? With the possible exception of CBC's Radio One ("We sound the way Toronto looks!") nobody but nobody, other than Chris, pays the slightest attention to Kemi's rants. Why would he do that? Surely it can't be that he's physically attracted to her!

Here's Officer Bubbles

Well, here it is, the infamous "Officer Bubbles" video clip. This image of "Toronto's finest" in action has now been seen by millions around the world.

Canadian taxpayers, this is the "security" your billion-plus dollars paid for. The brave boys in blue [black, surely. ed.] haven't said anything about this yet, not publicly at least. The officer in question has been heard to say "Hey man, da bitch wuz dissin' me!"

Just like the infamous RCMP Sergeant Pepper. "This is what you came for. Here it is!" But the bullies in blue [black! ed.] can't help it. It's the nature of the beast.

It all reminds Walt of vids from the flower power era -- girls in gossamer gowns and granny glasses stuffing flowers into the muzzles of the cops assault rifles. Have we not learned that peace doesn't grow out of the barrel of a gun?

Inquiries aplenty! Fortunes to be made!

Lawyers! Get your car unwelded from the back of the ambulance and make haste to Toronto! Get your place at the trough for the newest and biggest inquiries into the police "actions" at the G20 summit!

At last count (at mid-week) three investigations into the conduct of the multi-force security unit had been announced. The Toronto police were going to do their own internal review. The SIU [Seafarers International Union? ed.] was to be called in. Then the Toronto Police Services* Board issued its own fuzzification.

Now Ontario's Ombudsman, André Marin, says his office will investigate the security regulations announced by "The Bill" Blair, supposedly with the backing of the provincial government, which, according to Blair, allowed the cops to stop and frisk anyone coming within 16 feet of the Big Fence, and arrest anyone who objected.

M. Marin, well-known for his aversion to sea birds, vowed Friday to leave no tern unstoned [Is this right? ed.] in his efforts to whitewash the actions of the government. He is not merely a fart-catcher, M. Marin said, noting that “We can subpoena any member of the public, which includes … people within the government, if we're investigating something within our jurisdiction.”

The last three words are the weasel words. Expect the Toronto police and the federal government, among others, to challenge the Ombudsman's jurisdiction. This would be in line with the feds' employment stimulus program, since it will create 1000s of billable hours of "work" for m'learned friends plus overtime for dozens of judges.

As a plus for the government, legal fees are now subject to HST! Ah yes, it looks like a great year (or more) ahead for the legal profession.

* Footnote: Walt is so old he can remember when the police were called "the police force". When did that get changed to "police service"? And how about their motto, "to serve and protect"? Ha. It is to laugh. Ask the Niagara resident who had his prosthetic leg ripped off by the cops during the "peaceful protest". "Serve and protect" indeed.

Call for tenders - paint and related products

Calls continue for an inquiry into the actions (and inactions) of the police during the G20 summit in Toronto at the end of June. Toronto police and their allies (who came from 1000s of miles away -- kind of reminds you of Afghanistan!) are accused of both not doing enough to prevent the vandalism and violence or of using excessive force on 100s of innocent bystanders, in other words doing too much.

In response, the Premier of Ontario, Dalton McGuinty, first said there would be no inquiry. Then Toronto police chief "The Bill" Blair said the police would conduct an "internal review". In other words, they would investigate themselves.

This announcement was, for some reason, greeted with scepticism. Remarks like "couldn't find a blackberry in a saucer of milk" were heard. So now the Special Investigations Unit has been called in. That's the provincial body -- staffed by cops, ex-cops, crown lawyers and such -- whose mission is to exonerate the police of any misconduct in cases where civilians wind up in hospitals or morgues as a result of police actions.

But some people will never be satisfied. Protesters continued to demand a civilian investigation. So now the Toronto Police Services Board, to which the police are supposedly accountable, has announced its own "independent review", to be conducted at a later date, by person or persons unknown, with a mandate to be announced ... errrr ... later.

Expressions of interest are invited for the supply of several thousand gallons of whitewash for use by the three (and counting) inquiries. Bids should be sealed in a plain brown envelope (approx. 2.5" x 6") addressed to "Justice, Queen's Park".

Footnote: The TPSB, in a display of back-pedalling which would make a champion cyclist green with envy, has added that it only has jurisdiction over the Toronto police, so anything done by the Ontario Provincial Police, the RCMP, the Montréal police, the Regina police [that's enough police. ed.] won't be looked at.

Another example of racist over-policing

This is...or was...Mitchel Leton Celise, a.k.a. "SK" or "Skeezy". Accompanied by two friends, he was walking down a street in the west end of Toronto on Monday, [minding his own business no doubt, ed.] when he was shot in the back by an unknown assailant who might be described as "a young black man who spoke with a Jamaican accent". Police are investigating.

Coincidentally, yesterday morning about a thousand Toronto cops, assisted by members of other forces and the Canadian Border Service Agency, raided scores of homes across southern Ontario rounding up the usual suspects, i.e. young black men who spoke with Jamaican accents.

This was part of Project Corral, targetting (successfully) black gangs which are terrorizing Toronto's west end. The Toronto police "guns and gangs" squad led the operation. Guns and gangs...and Jamaicans. At least in Toronto, the three words go together. If you doubt me, if you think I'm being racist for saying this, read Rosie DiManno's account in today's Toronto Star.

Everybody knows that the majority of murders in the so-called Greater Toronto area, especially the west end, are "black on black". Everybody knows many of those involved are from the sunny isle of Jamaica. And everybody knows many of them are in Canada illegally. But nobody talks about this "elephant in the room" because it's not politically correct.

It's not politically correct because everybody knows these poor sweet black boys are "disadvantaged" and it's all our fault because of centuries of white oppression, slavery, colonialism, discrimination, yadda yadda yadda. We honkies just love to wallow in our liberal guilt.

Even as I write, the "progressive" and "modern" Forces for Good in our society, especially in the media, are raising the cry that Operation Corral is yet another example of the "over-policing" of the disadvantaged "at-risk neighbourhoods". What do they think should be done? Just leave them alone to kill each other? [Hmmm... ed.]

Do that, and the streets won't be safe for anyone, as witness the tragic killing of Jane Creba, an innocent bystander who was caught in the crossfire while out doing some Boxing Day shopping on Toronto's main street. Who wants to live in that kind of city? One might as well move to Detroit!

So what is to be done? It has been suggested that Canada...or at least its big cities...could benefit from laws requiring police to stop and challenge peope as to their immigration status. Like the law recently passed in Arizona. But nooooooo. Tolerant Canadians wouldn't do that because, well, that's like Nazi Germany, eh. And it's so American to say, or even think that there's any connection between drugs, guns, crime and illegal aliens!

Walt suggests that perhaps Canadians...and New Yorkers...could learn something from the citizens of Arizona. At least measures to combat illegal immigration could be discussed without using the epithet of racism.

Three for three in Toronto the Good

So, farewell then, Theo Tiku. You were "known to the police", as the saying goes. And now you are no more, having received a severe case of lead poisoning near Danforth and Pape on Monday night.

Toronto police say the 27-year-old man had ties to street gangs and drug trafficking. Det. Mike Carbone said, "There is no doubt in our mind he was targeted." There seems to be some doubt in their mind though about who targeted Theo. No description of the assailants has been released.

About 27 hours after Theo got what was coming to him, a 24-year-old man was shot to death not far from a townhouse complex (you know what I mean) near Keele and Finch. "There's no doubt in our mind he was targeted," said Det. Mike Carboncopy. [Are you sure about this? ed.] No description of the victim or the assailants has yet been released. Police do, however, say that one of the murderers was carrying a silver handgun and wearing a black Blue Jays baseball cap. [Was it on backwards? ed.]

And this afternoon, a man "in his twenties" was shot in the head outside a home near Midland Ave. and Eglinton Ave. E. We don't know yet if it's a homicide but there's no doubt in the mind of the police that this was a targeted hit. [One more time and you're fired. ed.] Police say they are searching for several suspects who scattered in different directions after shots were fired. Police did not say whether the suspects were wearing baseball caps or hoodies.

So that's three (just making an assumption) gang-style executions in as many days in Toronto the good. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that the other two victims were, like Theo, of the coloured persuasion.

But I will not be out on a limb at all when I predict that the race of the suspects will never be mentioned by the gutless but oh-so-politically-correct Toronto media until they go to trial or hell freezes over, whichever occurs first.

Victimized twice

Meet David Chen. He's a very typical Chinese shopkeeper. Walt occasionally patronizes his Lucky Moose grocery store in Toronto's old Chinatown. [Walt means he buys stuff there...the good kind of patronizing. ed] Any time you want live fish or chicken claws, that's the place to go.

Like most Cantonese immigrants, Mr. Chen works hard for his money, and he doesn't part with it gladly. Or his merchandise either. Which is a problem because Mr. Chen's store is a regular target of shoplifters. One in particular keeps coming back again and again. The thief is easy to recognize because he happens to be ... wait for it ... black.

This summer Mr. Chen saw the dusky miscreant ride off on his bicycle [his bicycle??? ed.] with a flat of flowers for which he had neglected to pay. When the thief came back an hour later for a second helping, Mr. Chen saw red. Well, OK, he saw black!

Mr. Chen and one of his assistants ran after the thief, tackled him, tied him up and threw him in a van until police arrived. All this was captured on video -- very enjoyable viewing. But when the police finally arrived, you'll never guess who was charged! Or maybe you will...

Yes, the "alleged shoplifter" was charged with theft under. But Mr. Chen, who was only trying to protect his property and his livelihood, had the book thrown at him! He was charged with assault, kidnapping, forcible confinement, and carrying a concealed weapon (a box-cutter which is a tool of the trade that Mr. Chen normally carries in his pocket). The cops (wonder what colour they were) gave him a break and didn't charge him with race hate crime.

Fast forward to the court proceedings. The shoplifter (or his legal aid lawyer) cut a deal with the Crown and got off with 30 days, in spite of his lengthy previous record. Oh yes, he also agreed to testify against Mr. Chen.

The Crown announced its intention to proceed against Mr. Chen on all counts, but yesterday, in the face of public outrage, withdrew the kidnapping and weapons charge. Mr. Chen, seen here leaving the Old City Hall court, said he's disappointed because he had hoped the Crown would withdraw all the charges against him.

He will have to wait until June to have the remaining charges heard. Meanwhile, his business is suffering because he has been too busy with lawyers and court appearances to devote his full attention to it.

Moral of the story. There's a big difference between the law and justice. There is nothing even remotely just about this entire affair. If you agree, please write to the Hon. As for the Toronto police "service", you can forget about "serve and protect". Was Mr. Chen served and protected? Ha! Hahaha!! All the police care about is getting convictions to show that they are doing something about crime, and so justify their fat salaries and donut allowances. In Mr. Chen's case, they had a gift -- a chance to score four convictions for major offences, rather than one for petty crime. Disgraceful!
