Fight against "racial injustice" continues in NYC

America cannot achieve “restoration” unless the nation acknowledges “racial injustice” and a “betrayal” of black Americans, said billionaire media mogul Oprah Winfrey in the most recent episode of her eponymous Apple TV series, The Oprah Winfrey Conversation, Breitbart reports. 

The episode featured Winfrey’s interview Bryan Stevenson, a graduate of Harvard Law School and founder of the Equal Justice Initiative, an organization with a focus on “racial justice.” Stevenson repeatedly described America as a nation plagued by an “ideology of white supremacy.”

That's from an article which appeared in the Deplorable Tribune* in September of 2020. The good folk at Blazing Cat Fur republished it just today, perhaps because Sarcasticat thought it juxtaposed nicely with a piece which quotes New York City's Democratic Mayor Eric Adams as calling for a “national response” to rising violence, following yesterday's fusillade which wounded over a dozen people who dared to ride the city's subway.

I had already composed a comment on the "incident", which I'd headed "'Allahu Akbar!' in the Big Apple". Ed. advised me to hold everything on the off chance that the perp might not be an Islamic terrorist. Ed. was right! [Ahem! Ed.]

Nor was the gunman (and would-be suicide bomber) a deranged postal service employee or an "incel" bent on exterminating the Karens women who are responsible for the mess that is today's Paranoid States of America. [Bill Burr said that once. You can look it up. Ed.]

No siree. The NYPD located the rented ban used by the attacker to get to the scene of the crime. [You mean he didn't take the subway? Ed.] The rental papers have led them to issue an APB for one Frank R. James, aged 62, who has addresses in Wisconsin and Philthydelphia. As a public service, and for no other reason, we publish theses photos of Mr James.

The New York Times ("All the news that fits the narrative") reports that Mr James "appears to have posted dozens of videos on social media in recent years — lengthy rants in which he expressed a range of harshly bigoted views and, more recently, criticized the policies of New York City’s mayor, Eric Adams."

The Times, always in the forefront of the struggle for racial justice and equality, points out that Mr James was not named as a suspect, only a "person of interest" -- someone the police believe may have information related to a crime. 

Likewise, the Times doesn't give details of Mr James' "harshly bigoted views". Nothing about "Justice for George Floyd" or "Kill Whitey!", then? Too bad that if Mr James is apprehended and charged, he won't be able to appear before Judge KBJ, who is no longer in the bidness of slapping the wrists of Offender of Colour, to make up for centuries of "racial injustice".

Oprah for President... and, for Vice-President... ???

Ahhhh... this is too easy. This one didn't even need a caption. I don't think Ed.'s going to let me run many more of these.

Oprah for President in 2020?

Well... why not? Who else have the Democrats got? Nancy Pelousy? Joe Hasbin? Bob Eager? Obviously they can't run Hellery Clinton again, so those wonderful folks who brought you "Hillary 2016" last night floated a trial balloon -- a large one -- for a run by one of the World's Richest Women. She war born in the USA -- no "birther" problem there -- on the wrong side of the tracks (check) and is 100% black, not just black-when-necessary-but-not-necessarily-black, like the last Democrat to occupy the Oval Office.

Oprah is also a certified ["certifiable"? Ed.] gliberal, with hyuge media exposure, just like the other one... Whoopie something-or-other. She's also a member of one of America's most bullied minorities -- the chronically overweight. Of course she's never held elected office, but just over a year ago President Trump proved that needn't be a hindrance. In fact, in an interview with Larry King some years ago, The Donald said Ms Winfrey was a great woman, yada yada yada, and might make a good running mate for Himself.

The idea of Oprah Winfrey running for the presidensity sounds to me like a Hollywood liberal dream. I watched the enraptured crowd at the Golden Globes [I always thought that referred to part of a leading lady's anatomy. Ed.] last night, and that's what I saw -- the Hollywood liberal establishment. Lots of (((Jews))) (but no (((Harvey Weinstein)))) and lots of empowered women, but almost no persons of colour (that I could see) or California Republicans (an endangered species).

The people practically wetting themselves when the heavily bespectacled Queen of Spades ["Queen of Daytime TV", shurely! Ed.] started ranting about revolution are the same people who told Americans to vote for Hellery Clinton, and threatened to move to Canada if she lost. She did; they didn't. That's all ye know and all ye need to know.

Don't know where this one (above) originated, but I saw it on Blazing Cat Fur, always good for a laugh at the lefties' expense.

US First Ladies -- then and now

What a difference fifty years can make, in the life of a once-great nation. Two First Ladies, both the wives of Democratic residents, representing the American ideal of femininity and class. My, how the ideal has changed.

Human Events posted this image to its Facebook page on June 18th. Since then, it has received almost 26,000 shares and over 7,000 likes.

"What happened, America?" Nothing good, according to thousands of commenters. The phrase "mongrelization of America" hasn't appeared yet [unless it's been censored by the PC police. Ed.] but remarks about Mrs Obama have ranged from adoring through catty all the way to downright scathing. Here are a few samples.

- Even if you took a normal pick [sic] of Michelle, she always has a scowl. The difference. One loved the US, the other, was proud of it for the first time when her scumbag liar husband got the nomination. (Brent Strenski)

- Jackie had a grace, elegance and humility that our current first lady doesn't have. (Niki Tshibaka)

- What happened is that we quit covering up for frauds. The Kennedys were both sleeping around on each other and doing all kinds of illicit things (that the press covered up) while blacks in the south were getting lynched! How racist and psychopathic do you have to be to want to go back to Camelot? (Julienne St. Solange) - Aha, the racism card appears! Walt likes this one though.

- No class, doesn't know how to dress even though we're paying someone to dress her, can't shave under her arms, thinks she's a TV star. (Brenda Bennett)

- Well I have heard Jackie Kennedy speak and she was not a very intelligent woman and she was also a closet racist so a picture tells nothing about a person. (Carol Bridges-Stjohn)

Ah yes. This comparison is obviously the brainchild of rotten racist Republican scumbags. That phrase was actually used. Well, caustic and very personal political "debates" are nothing new in American politics, according to Katherine Jellison, a professor of "women's history" [wat dat? Ed.] at Ohio University.

The difference between then and now, according to Dr Jellison, is that Mrs Kennedy was more insulated from the fray. "The kind of image control that the Kennedy family was able to exercise just isn't possible anymore."

The good doctor adds that the real revelation from the Facebook image is how white and black women are portrayed in US society. [Haven't we seen this movie before? Ed.] Mrs Kennedy is "demure and deferential", while Ms Obama is "boisterous".

"Ideas about African-American women being more assertive, speaking louder," she says. "All of those stereotypes are very much coming into play here." And of course there's no underlying truth to the stereotype. None at all. Just ask Oprah Winfrey.

Footnote: Since the wimmin of America won't be satisfied until one of them is elected President [and maybe not even then. Ed.], how about Oprah Winfrey vs Hellery Clinton for the Democratic nomination?!

Pakistan flood relief trickles in

Associated Press reports today that although devastating floods have "disrupted" the lives of 14 million people across Pakistan, foreign aid is only trickling in. ["Trickling" is AP's word, not Walt's attempt at a pun. ed.]

The UN says $310 milliion is needed, down from $450 million reported yesterday. Of that, under $100 million has been collected, with about another $30 million pledged.

That compares rather poorly with the billion dollars in aid has been pledged to Haiti. (But see my recent post saying that less than half the help pledged has yet to arrive.) International do-gooding experts are trying to figure out why.

Among the theories being considered is "bad attitudes to Pakistan" engendered by links to terrorism or corruption. Could it be that someone has been reading Walt's blog? Or possibly the hundreds of reports recently leaked through Wikileaks. [Update: Wikileaks head honcho says more are on the way. ed.]

Some even suggest Pakistan's own handling of the disaster has done little to instill confidence foreign aid would be put to good use. You read it here first!

Molly Kinder, a Pakistan aid expert with the Washington-based Center for Global Development, suggests the lack of celebrity involvement may be a factor. She told AP, "I haven't exactly seen Lady Gaga go on Oprah to pledge donations to Pakistan's flood victims."

A UN spokesperson in Pakistan has a more macabre explanation. "Unfortunately, sometimes a segment of the public only looks at the death toll," Maurizio Giuliano told AP, noting that only around 1,500 people have lost their lives in the Pakistan floods so far. Efforts are under way to get the body count up into the catastrophe range.
