Walt reveals reason for cancellation of Montréal Pride Parade

Queer story out of Montréal this afternoon, and I mean "queer" in two senses of the word. Pride Montréal abruptly cancelled its iconic annual parade hours before it was to get underway this morning. (The photo is allegedly from a previous year's parade.)

The official reason for the sudden cancellation (can you say that without lisping?) is security concerns stemming from a lack of volunteers for the event. Festival Executive Director Simon Gamache said the march, which was to cap days of celebration of LGBTQ2S++ (and so forth) communities would not have been able to proceed safely.

"We were missing more than 80 people this morning, it's a lot," he told the meeja, adding the absentees represented more than a third of the number needed for the parade to go ahead.

Montréal Mayor Valérie Plante said on Sunday she was shocked to learn of the cancellation, which she called it "completely unacceptable". She professed to be taken by surprise, and claimed to have no idea what the problem could have been.

M. Gamache, however, said this year's Pride festival fell prey to the kind of "human resource issues" currently plaguing numerous sectors in Québec and across Canada. He also said several cases of Covid were reported among the volunteers, in addition to heatstroke and heavy fatigue, which made them "just so tired!"

Walt's National Sports (as long as it's hockey) Editor, Poor Len Canayen, has good contacts in Montréal, and has uncovered the real story behind the cancellation. According to Len, the public health authorities contacted the parade organizers on Saturday, and warned them that the parade could be a super-spreader event, for which they would be held accountable.

Super-spreader of what? Why, monkeypox of course! Montréal is the epicentre of the outbreak in Canada, and is also home to 100s of African queers who are claiming asylum in Canada because homosexuality is illegal in their homelands.

Of course no-one is going to say that publicly because to do would be to acknowledge that some 95% of the victims of the loathsome disease are fudge-packers, and it's not politically correct to suggest that there's anything wrong with deviant sexual practices, especially when practised by BIPOCs. Such views are completely and totally unacceptable in Trudeau's Canuckistan.

"This is unacceptable... completely unacceptable!"

In case you haven't noticed, there's a new politically correct curseword, used by liberals and wokesters to condemn anything that they don't like or that runs contrary to their agenda. The word is "unacceptable".

Readers who remember last winter's Freedom Convoy will recall Blackie McBlackface, Prime Minister of Canuckistan, saying that the protesters, demanding freedom from vax mandates and other government intrustions in their lives, were merely "a fringe minority holding unacceptable views."

"Unacceptable views", is it? "Unacceptable views?" I could see actions being unacceptable -- farting in church, for example. But views? You mean we're not allowed to think for ourselves any more? "Unacceptable" by whose standards? Are we talking about political correctness here, the sort of thing John Cleese decried in the interview posted here yesterday

Ever since (perhaps just because I've been listening for it), I've noticed that increasing frequency with which politicians and the lickspittle media use the U-word -- Unacceptable -- to describe any thing, person, action or thought which they don't like.

The latest example to come to my attention was the reaction of the mayor of Cincinnati OH, to the latest manifestation of the Summer of Rage, which occurred early today. At least nine people were wounded -- none critically -- in a shooting outside the Mr. Pitiful bar, in the Ohio city’s Over-the-Rhine district, a popular nightlife area.

Another shooting in the neighbouring Central Business District left two wounded, but Inspector Gadget of the Cincinnati PD said it was unclear whether the two shootings were related. Mayor Aftab Karma Singh Pureval [Really, that's his name. Ed.] called the gunfire not just "unacceptable" but "completely and totally unacceptable."

So there. I fully expect that the hoodlums [Note that Walt didn't use any unacceptable nouns. Ed.] guilty of that kind of anti-social behaviour will cease and desist forthwith, now that they know it's "unacceptable". Selah.

VIDEO: John Cleese riffs on political correctness and wokeism

Ed. here. Walt has taken the weekend off. (Yes, I know it seems like he took off on Wednesday!) Once again we need to give our followers something interesting and provocative, so here's a video posted to YouTube earlier this week, in which John Cleese takes aim at polical correctness and wokeism.

The Monty Python legend says political correctness is ruining creativity in all aspects of human activity. From shows and movies ranging from Monty Python's Flying Circus and Fawlty Towers to Life of Brian and A Fish Called Wanda, Mr Cleese has uproariously and relentlessly satirized politics and religion while stretching the boundaries of decorum and good taste like so many silly walks.

Mr Cleese, now 82, appeared at FreedomFest, the annual July gathering of libertarians in Las Vegas, to discuss creativity, the subject of his 2020 "short and cheerful guide." After he'd given a talk on the attitudes and habits he believes are necessary for creativity to 2500 attendees, John Cleese was interviewed by ReasonTV's Nick Gillespie, who posted the video, on the importance of freedom of thought and expression for a flourishing society.

Latest iteration of the Pride flag

The Babylon Bee (who else?) reports that the LGBTQ2S+++ lobby has added the monkeypox symbol to the Pride Flag in honour of their ever-evolving movement for freedom and equity.
States of emergency have been declared in both California (where else?) and New York, and the World Health Organization (who else) has declared the outbreak, which has been noted most in Western countries with large populations of "men who have sex with men" [We don't use the H-word any more. Ed.], a "public health emergency".

No-one has died from the loathsome disease so far, but at least we have another crisis.

Poking the panda: why did Nasty Nancy go to Taiwan?

Breaking news! Reliable sources report that a plane landed, in the middle of the night (local time) at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), serving Taiwan "Republic of China".

Out stepped a tired and over-refreshed Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), the Speaker of the US House Representatives, who insisted on making the trip despite warnings from President Brandon and Xi Jinping, emperor of the People's Republic of China.

Nasty Nancy's visit to Taiwan, which Communist China claims as its territory, marks the first time in 25 years that an American official of her level visited the "rogue province". The previous visit was in 1997 by then-House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA).

I'm all for supporting Taiwan, and I think it would be great if the US reversed its support for Mr Xi's "one China" policy, but I don't think that's why Nasty Nancy is there. Looks to me like an attempt to start a fight with China to distract Americans from Senile Joe's failures at home... just in time for the mid-terms.

The Harris-Biden administration opposed her trip out of fear it would further destabilize the relationship with China at a time when the US of A is suffering from high prices of goods, supply-chain disruptions, and the futile pursuit of a green energy agenda, all of which the administration hopes it can work with China on.

Ms. Pelosi first planned to take the trip in April but postponed it after contracting the Wuhan flu -- to which the Taiwanese government attempted to alert the World Health Organization (WHO) in December 2019. As we know, their warning was ignored. She brought with her a delegation of Democrat politicians, anxious to get some good photo-opos to impress the Chinese-American voters at home. Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX), ranking member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, declined to go.

OK, al-Zawahiri is dead... but al-Qaeda is not. What now?

President Brandon announced yesterday that al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri was killed by an American drone strike which struck a "safe house" in Kabul, Afghanistan, where he was said to be hiding. The Taliban had promised, when they took over Afghanistan after the American bugged out, that the country would no longer be a haven for Islamic terrorists. But they lied, and everyone knew that.

Al-Zawahri and the better known Osama bin Laden plotted the 9/11 attacks that brought most of us in the West our first knowledge of al-Qaeda, the organization of Islamic extremists responsible for terrorism in the name of Allah which has killed many 1000s worldwide. Bin Laden was killed by US Navy Seals in Abbotabad, Pakistan on 2 May 2011, but al-Qaeda lived on, and lives on now.

A good question to ask, then, is: what happens next? Let's not kid ourselves that the Islamic terrorism will stop. The execution of al-Zawahiri, just though it certainly was, may well have opened up the hornet's nest. Americans would do well to sleep with one eye open.

VIDEO: Michael Matt accuses Francis' church of "full-blown apostasy"

In my introduction to "Francis in Canada - the Pachamama road show", which featured Michael Matt's excellent "Fake News" video, I tried to be charitable. I thought Mr Matt (editor of The Remnant newspaper) might have gone a bit "over the top" in advance

Writing after the first of Pope Bergoglio's apologies to the indigenous people's of Canada, I thought we should wait to see what Francis would do or say next. Could it possibly get worse? Sadly, it did. In this, the latest Remnant Underground, Mr Matt characterizes "Wild Pope Francis"'s "pilgrimage of repentance" as a "Great Apostasy". Even if you're not Catholic, you need to watch this!

The fallout from indigenous and Catholic Canadians alike has not been favourable for Prime Minister Blackie McBlackface and the Vatican‘s plan. So much did it fall short that Mr Socks has already called for Francis to "do more", and, even while he was flying back to Rome, Francis said he is now ready to resign.

To make matters worse (Mr Matt says), while Pope Bergoglio participates in a pagan smudging ceremony in Canada, and talks about the need to preserve the traditions and language of the indigenous people, he is committing liturgicide against his own church. Several dioceses in the USA, in blind obedience to Francis, have now cancelled the Traditional Latin Mass.

Michael Matt closes with a stirring and inspirational message to the Traditional Catholics who are being wounded by these recent Latin Mass cancellations. He says the traditional Catholic counterrevolution is stronger, more unified, and more poised for a major victory right now than it was when he was a boy in the early 1970s.

I wish to add here my own personal message to faithful Catholics, particularly good and faitheful priests, who are wavering, torn between the teaching that we must pray for the pope and his intentions, and obey his orders, and the evidence which they can see for themselves that what Francis is doing is wrong! This "pope", if such he be, is leading us into apostasy. He must be resisted! As Mr Matt says, "We have not yet begun to fight!"

Further viewing: "Pope Francis invoking 'sacred circle of spirits' and Western Grandmother", with Dr Taylor Marshall.  "Francis the Destroyer" and several cardinals and bishops participated in a pagan rite. According to Canon Law, Catholics who do that are automatically excommuicated. Period. "People! This is demonic!"
