Canuck newspaper apologizes for printing flag on Canada Day

Canada's government and its lamestream media have earned a reputation for extreme liberal wussiness, pandering to every minority "cause" and ignoring Canada's white native sons and daughters. The TDS, BLM, LGBTQ2S propaganda machine has been in overdrive this year. Dare we hope that running about the red line [Nice pun! Ed.] will cause the machine to burn out? Perhaps not!

"Down East" (as Canadians call their maritime provinces), the population is still mainly white, English-speaking or French-speaking, and heterosexual. But Maritimers are a friendly lot, and typically Canadian when it comes to saying "Sorry!" and apologizing for themselves. Still, many Haligonians (denizens of Halifax) must have been shocked, shocked to see this "trigger warning" across the front page of the Halifax Chronicle-Herald this past Saturday.

Can't believe your eyes? Yep, it says: "To our readers: inside today's edition, on page A9, you'll find a Canadian flag to clip and post to help celebrate July 1. We understand the flag doesn't mean the same thing to everyone, however, we hope our readers recognize their ability to play a role in shaping Canada's future is a freedom worth acknowledging."

The flag then appears on page A9, well inside the first section of the alleged newspaper.

The flag, with its stylized maple leaf, has been a source of pride for Canadians since it was adopted in 1965. Will it soon become like the Confederate Battle Flag, vilified for symbolozing racism, colonialism, white supremacy and all the other evils that the liberals their controlled media see in our society? Must it be taken down -- or, better, burned -- lest it offend some snowflake who feels entitled to reparations for wrongs done a century ago? It's sad that the question should even be asked.

As a public service to all our friends and reads in Canuckistan, Walt Whiteman, Poor Len Canayen [and Ed.! Ed.] are pleased to show the Maple Leaf Flag.
Long may it wave!

HAPPY CANADA DAY!

Niagara Falls starts using "low-sound" fireworks - Walt reveals why

This is a holiday weekend in parts of the Great No-longer-white North. On Monday locals in the more British parts (i.e. not Québec) will celebrate the Queen's Birthday. Not Her Britannic Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, but the very late Queen Victoria. That shows you how up-to-date Canadians are.

In Niagara Falls -- the clean one on the Canuck side of the river -- the Niagara Parks Commission begins its nightly fireworks showed, intended to make clear to those stuck on the shabbier side of the river that people on the western side are having lots more fun. Not just two casinos instead of one, and a lower drinking age, but fireworks too!

The nightly pyrotechnic display is pretty spectacular, to be sure. And it used to be pretty noisy too. Depending on the wind, you could hear the explosions echoing through and above the Niagara Gorge, up to ten miles away -- especially those ones that explode in a small circle of white light followed by an almighty BANG! Why, they sounded just like bombs, or cannon fire. You know, the kind of noises you'd hear if you were in a war zone. And that, gentle readers, turned out to be a problem.

To understand the dilemma faced by the NPC, you need to know that (according to Agent 78, who does know), white Canadians don't visit Niagara Falls. The whities you see oohing and awing are mostly Americans, who haven't heard about Canada's changing demographics. (Merci, Justin Trudeau, et mange d'la merde!) Canadian visitor are mostly immigrants, including hordes of Middle Eastern and south Asian "refugees" and asylum-seekers. And they, poor things, have a tendency to be "triggered" by the sound of explosions. At least, that's what the SJWs told Niagara Parks.

As a result, in a display of sensitivity and political correctness unusual even by Canadian standards, the NPC has sourced some new "low sound" fireworks for the nightly show. Instead of going "BOOM", these ones just explode with an inoffensive "pop". Less bang for the beaverbuck! And so the "accommodation" of "newcomers" reaches another high... or low... depending on how you look at it.

Footnote: The same argument was used last summer to dissuade the organizers of the CNE Airshow, the largest in Canada, to cancel the show entirely because the noise of the "warplanes" could "trigger" the poor downtrodden "refugees", yada yada yada. Fortunately the CNE has more guts than the NPC. Or at least they did last year.

Dreaming of a white Christmas? Obviously you're a racist!

University College London is No. 16 in the Times of London World University Rankings, just a bit above such institutions of the liberal (and we do mean liberal) arts as University of California, Berkeley. It strives very hard to promote diversity and progressive thought, and to maintain an atmosphere of welcome and inclusion at all times and for all people, regardless of race, creed, sexual orientation, yada yada yada. Thus it came as a surprise to many of its students and alumni when a reference to "White Christmas" popped up in an official university Tweet. Here's what it said.

Stunned by the implicit racism of the Tweet, Aman Thankar, who describes himself (it's Aman, geddit?) as "an alumni" replied "This UCL Alumni is not dreaming of a white campus, thanks." Another south Asian snowflake, @KhayerChowdhury, said, "Definitely wasn't my dream 4 years ago."

A little later, an SJW calling himself @KevinAllred was a little more vehement in his reaction to the dreaded trigger-words, writing, "fuck white america. fuck white supremacy. fuck white people. fuck an inability to see beyond our own noses. and fuck the faux concern for tragedies in the past while allowing them to continue in the present." Mr Allred used to be a professor at Rutgers, and has a history of being barking mad when it comes to Donald Trump.

Before the clock on the university's tower had struck noon, the school's politically correct administration had backed down and, of course, apologized profusely. @ucl Tweeted, "We chose our words very poorly yesterday when thinking of this song: http://bit.ly/2z3Te52. We’re sorry and we’ll choose our words more carefully in the future."

If you followed the link, you'll know that the song UCL had in mind was the old standard by Der Bingle. Walt likes it, but also likes this more modern version by The Drifters.

And here, just to prove that Walt too is against racism and in favour of diversity, inclusivity, yada yada yada, is a picture of The Drifters.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to them and to you!

Black snowflakes panic as banana peel thrown in tree at Ole Miss

Walt wouldn't be surprised if the "progressives" in Congress introduce a bill to amend the Constitution of the Paranoid States of America to guarantee every Merkan the right not to be offended. Such a provision is clearly necessary, given the increasing number of incidents of insensitivity to the feelings of LGBTQ2Setc, "new Americans" and persons of colour, across the country but particularly in the racist and unrepentant Souf.

Case in point: The abrupt ending of "Ole Miss Greek life", a retreat "to build leaders and bring campus closer together" [Was that written by an English student? Ed.] convened at Camp Hopewell in Lafayette County last weekend. The get-together was to have lasted for three days, but was cut short on Saturday night after three black students found a banana peel in a tree in front of one of the camp's cabins.

A student attending the conference admitted to tossing his banana peel into a nearby tree after he was unable to locate a garbage can. Soon thereafter, the peel was spotted by Makala McNeil, president of Alpha Kappa Alpha, one of Ole Miss's historically black sororities. The banana peel "triggered" feelings of persecution and insecurity. Ms McNeil claimed that students "didn't feel welcome" or "safe" on campus. Hysteria ensued and, despite the careless student's explanation cum apology, other students left the retreat in tears.

"The overall tone was heavy. I mean, we were talking about race in Mississippi and in the Greek community so there's a lot involved," said Ms McNeil, later adding that she and her friend were "all just sort of paranoid for a second" after spotting the banana.

In a statement included in an article in the campus newspaper, the Daily Mississipian/TheDMONLINE, Alexa Lee Arndt, Interim Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life, said, "To be clear, many members of our community were hurt, frightened, and upset by what occurred at IMPACT. Because of the underlying reality many students of color endure on a daily basis, the conversation manifested into a larger conversation about race relations today at the University of Mississippi."

Walt can hardly wait for the now-customary banning of racist and culturally insensitive costumes at Hallowe'en. My fear... and it's a very real fear... is that we won't have space to report all the craziness.
