Saudi sisters' suspicious deaths -- MEA CULPA

I am glad, now, that when I wrote "Saudi sisters' suspicious 'suicide'" (WWW 31/10/18) I didn't use the old joke ending "Worst case of suicide I ever saw." It turns out -- and this is my apology to the family of Tala and Rotana Farea -- that their deaths were not affairs of "honour" after all. New York City police are now saying that the girl, found dead on the banks of the Hudson River on 24 October, preferred suicide over returning to Saudi Arabia. Let that sink in....

NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea said sources in Virginia, where the Farea sisters had previously been living, informed investigators that the two women had been in the United States for two to three years and would "rather inflict harm on themselves and commit suicide than return to Saudi Arabia.... Everything that we’ve seen thus far is pointing to something other than a crime taking place," he said at a presser this afternoon, "but we're not ruling anything out."

Chief Shea went on to say that detectives believe the women may have applied for asylum in the USA after alleging that they were victims of abuse. A witness told police he saw the women in a park on West 158th Street in Upper Manhattan on the morning of October 24th, while he was out exercising. They were sitting about 30 feet apart with their heads in their hands and appeared to be praying, the witness said. They were seen floating along the Hudson River that afternoon.

The sisters, whose bodies were loosely bound together with duct tape, were found lying on rocks near the river, fully clothed in black jackets with fur trim and black leggings. There were no obvious signs of trauma, and detectives believe the women were alive when they entered the water. Their bodies are believed to have washed ashore with the tide and stayed when it went out, said Chief Shea. The investigation continues, and the medical examiner's office will ultimately determine the cause of the girls' deaths.

VIDEO: If the Democrats win the mid-terms...

You've probably heard the stories about how, when Hitler committed suicide and Berlin fell, many Nazis fled to South America. Check out this short video:

But doesn't that prove the stories are true? Oh no!!! Pause at 3:40 and you will see that these are really United Nations troops rehearsing for the triumphal entry into Washington if the Democrats win the mid-terms. Don't say you weren't warned!

Note from Ed.: Dear Republican readers, please take this cum grano salis. But DO get out and vote!

Saudi sisters' suspicious "suicide"

Amidst all the fuss about pipe bombs and the Pittsburgh synagogue massacre, the lamestream meeja seem to have pretty much ignored the strange case of Tala Farea and Rotana Farea, two sisters whose fully-clothed bodies were found on the bank of the Hudson River in New York on October 24th.

The girls, aged 16 and 22 respectively, had been bound together, face-to-face, with the handyman's secret weapon -- duct tape. The medical examiner's office is investigating the cause of death. The absence of any obvious signs of physical trauma cast doubt on the coppers' original theory that they jumped into the river from the George Washington Bridge in a suicide pact.

The Farea sisters moved to the USA from Saudi Arabia with their mother in 2015, settling in Fairfax VA, about 225 miles from where their bodies were found. Rotana was enrolled at George Mason University, but left in the spring. Police said the sisters left the family home and were placed in a shelter after an earlier disappearance, in December of 2017. They were reported missing again on August 24th.

New York police said their mother told detectives the day before the bodies were discovered, she received a call from an official at the Saudi Arabian Embassy, ordering the family to leave the USA because her daughters had applied for political asylum. The Saudi Consul General said embassy officials in Washington had contacted the family and "extended its support and aid in this trying time." It said the sisters were students "accompanying their brother in Washington."

The cops sent a detective to Virginia to learn more about the sisters. Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea said they were particularly interested in finding out what happened since they were reported missing and what led them to New York City. "We are looking at all clues in their past life," Shea said.

Walt suggests that the police consider the girls' ethnicity and religion, and the sad fate of other Muslim girls who have come to western countries with their parents, and then been killed for wanting to adopt western customs, like wearing western clothes and (horrors!) dating. Three cases, reported here on WWW, come to mind.

In 2009 there was the murder, in Ontario, Canada, of Aqsa Parvez, aged 16, whose father and brother killed her because she dared to change out of Islamic garments into western clothes when she went to school. See "Honour killings, family values and 'accommodation'", WWW 23/7/09.

There was an echo from Britain in 2012, when a jury found the Pakistani parents of 17-year-old Shafilea Ahmed guilty of her murder. According her sister, her mother and father suffocated the girl with a plastic bag for "being too western". See "Parents kill rebellious teen to preserve family honour", WWW 3/8/12.

That same year saw the horrific Shafia case, in which three sisters and their mother were locked in a car which was pushed into a canal near Kingston ON by the girls' father, his second wife and their brother, all of whom were convicted of murder and are (suprisingly) still guests of Her Majesty in Canadian prisons. See "GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY in Shafia honour killings", WWW 29/1/12.

There's also [That's enough Islamic honour killings. We're running out of space! Ed.] OK then, let's just leave it at my suggestion that the police have a word with the Farea sisters' brother. Perhaps he can explain how it's possible for two people to duct-tape themselves together, face-to-face, while allowing sufficient freedom of movement to jump in a river. Stay tuned...

What is a "hate crime"?

Federal prosecutors have filed hate crime charges against Robert Bowers, the Pennsylvania man they say stormed a Pittsburgh synagogue and opened fire, killing 11 people. Because the people were Jews, and because Mr Bowers allegedly made anti-Semitic statements during the shooting and even in the hospital where he was being treated, and allegedly targeted Jews on social media, he has been charged with committing "hate crimes", for which he may be sentenced to death.

Walt would like to know if the same charges would have been laid had Mr Bowers shot up a Catholic church full of worshippers (like you'd ever find that, nowadays) or a non-denominational public (read: secular) school.

Would the same charges have been laid had the attacker been a Muslim fanatic, or would the murders then be called acts of terrorism? What's the difference between a terrorist crime and a hate crime?

And what if Mr Bowers had been black, and had shot up a meeting of the Aryan nation...or a station full of white cops? That would certainly be a hate-filled act, but if a black man did it, would he not be justified, in the eyes of the NPCs, because of... well, you know....

I believe that there is no excuse, other than self-defence, for killing another human being. That goes double for the killing of the innocent -- infants and unborn children! See "True story of Philadelphia baby-killer now a movie", WWW 24/10/18.

But the "minority status" or the victims or of the killer should make no difference to the "justice" applied or received. That is why slogans like "Justice for Trayvon Martin" make no sense unless the NPCs who shout them also demand justice for the victims of ISIS, justice for the innocent bystanders shot by gangstas, and, yes, justice for the millions of babies whose lives were "terminated" by the likes of Kermit Gosnell, paid by Planned Parenthood with the support of your tax dollars.

I believe also that justice does not include retribution. I am not so naïve as to think that nutbars and recidivists can be rehabilitated and made useful members of society if we just "love" them enough. Hug-a-hoodie just doesn't work because hate cannot always (or ever?) be overcome by love. But an eye for an eye is not the solution.

I am opposed to the death penalty because I am opposed to murder. People like Mr Bowers need to be removed from society, for the protection of society, but in a civilized society, permanent incarceration or perhaps banishment to a Siberia is as far as we ought to go. State-sanctioned murder is no different from "murder by crazy freelancer".

As for "hate crime", I call that a redundancy, since all murder involves hate of some kind. As used by the NPCs today, "hate crime" is just another expression intended to make straight white people -- especially men and Christians -- feel guilty, guilty, guilty! If I were Emperor of the World, I would banish "hate crime" from the statute books and even from the dictionaries. Sadly, hate is part of human nature. You can't overcome hate by mandating "love"... or political correctness.

What to say when you're caught humping a pumpkin

While police work can often be dangerous, it can occasionally be entertaining.

In Georgia recently, a female sheriff's deputy arrested Patrick Lawrence, a 22-year-old white male, who was fornicating with a pumpkin in the middle of a field at night. The next day, at the Gwinnett County courthouse, Mr Lawrence was charged with lewd and lascivious behaviour, public indecency and public intoxication.

In his defence, the suspect explained that he was passing a pumpkin patch on his way home from a drinking session when he decided to stop. "You know how a pumpkin is soft and squishy inside," he said, "and there was no one around for miles, or at least I thought there was no one around."

He went on to say that he pulled over to the side of the road, picked out a pumpkin that he felt was appropriate to his purpose, cut a hole in it and proceeded to satisfy his pressing need. "Guess I was really into it, y'know," he commented with evident embarrassment.

In the process of doing the deed, Mr Lawrence failed to notice an approaching sheriff's car and was unaware of his audience, until Deputy Brenda Taylor approached him. "It was an unusual situation, that's for sure," said Deputy Taylor. "I walked up to Lawrence and he's just humping away at this pumpkin."

Deputy Taylor went on to describe what happened when she approached the defendant. "I said excuse me sir, but do you realize that you're having sex with a pumpkin? He froze and was clearly very surprised that I was there, and then he looked me straight in the face and said, 'A pumpkin? Shit, is it midnight already?!'"

The court (including the judge) could not contain their laughter. Mr Lawrence was found guilty only of public intoxication, fined ten bucks and sent on his way.

Thanks to Agent 6 for this perfect pre-Hallowe'en story.

Another gain for AfD forces Merkel to plan retirement

Cazart! Another defeat for "democratic socialism"[or "social democracy"? Ed.] in Germany! Results just in from Sunday's vote in the state of Hesse prove that the German people want change. They are sick of the self-centeredness and self-flagellation of Angela Merkel's liberal coalition, and sent them a strong message.

Frau Merkel's Christian Democratic Union and the Social Democrats lost significant ground, while there were gains for both the Greens and the right-wing Alternativ für Deutschland (Alternative for Germany). Merkel's party barely managed to retain power, narrowly salvaging a majority by means of a coalition with the Greens.

The governing coalition of Social Democrats (SPD), Christian Democrats (CDU) and Christian Social Union (CSU) is the classic example of all the "mainstream" parties banding together to prevent the rightist party from taking power. Within this decade, the same thing happened in France, Austria and the Netherlands. So for the last six months or so, Germans have been lumbered with a government that is so busy navel-gazing -- figuring out how to survive -- that it hasn't led, but rather paralyzed the Fatherland.

After 13 years in office, the German volk have learned to dislike and distrust Angela Merkel. Her abject failure to lead, particularly on the issue of mass migration, has led to the rise of the AfD and other right-wing parties, not just in Germany but in Europe as a hole. [Ed., I have checked the spelling. Quod scripsi scripsi.] Instead of tackling urgent issues like what to do with the criminal Muslim "refugees", the Merkel coalition is preoccupied with in-house squabbling over "the process of renewal". The German people have had enough!

Frau Merkel, 64, recently indicated she planned to seek another two-year term as leader of her Christian Democratic Union at a party congress to be held in December, but in light of the result in Hesse (and another debacle in Bavaria two weeks ago) appears to have changed her mind. At a news conference in Berlin today, she said it was her intention to remain as Chancellor, but this would be her final parliamentary term. "I will not run as candidate for chancellor in the 2021 election," she told the meeja, "and will not seek re-election to the German parliament. And, just for the record, I will not aim for any other political office," likely referring to European Commission elections to be held next year.

Throughout the Fatherland, cries are heard, not of "Angela, we hardly knew ye," but of "We knew ye all too well. Auf Wiedersehen, gute Riddance!"

Right on the rise in South America, as Bolsonaro wins in Brazil

They call him a hater. They call him a racist, a misogynist, an anti-Semite, a homophobe and a neo-Nazi. And now they call him Mr President!

No, it's not Donald Trump of whom we speak, but Jair Bolsonaro, the 63-year-old congressman, who's also been called "Brazil's Donald Trump" or "Tropical Trump". Mr Bolsonaro has been criticized by the lamestream media and liberal pols at home and abroad for sexist comments about women [What's the Portuguese word for "pussy"? Ed.], refusing to recognize "gay rightsw", racist remarks about Brazil's black population, as well as his praise for the country's 1964-85 military dictatorship. But on Sunday he easily won the fun-off presidential election, riding a wave of frustration over corruption and crime that brought a dramatic swing to the right in the world's fourth-largest democracy.

In his acceptance sppech, Mr Bolsonaro said "We cannot continue flirting with communism.... We are going to change the destiny of Brazil!" His winning campaign was fuelled in large part by popular rejection of the leftist party (similar to America's "socialist Democrats") that ran Brazil for 13 of the last 15 years, and was booted out two years ago in the midst of a deep recession and a scandal over political graft. Mr Bolsonaro also vowed to crack down on crime in Brazil's cities and farm belt by granting police more autonomy to shoot at criminals. He also wants to let more Brazilians buy weapons to fight crime.

Thousands of Bolsonaro supporters cheered and set off fireworks outside his home in Rio de Janeiro's Barra de Tijuca beachfront neighbourhood as his victory was announced. In Brazil's commercial capital of Sao Paulo, Bolsonaro's win was greeted with fireworks and the honking of car horns. Said the local president of Mr Bolsonaro's Partido Social Liberal (PSL) party, "Brazil is partying. Brazil's good people are celebrating!"

Footnote:
"Partido Social Liberal" = Social Liberal Party. Just shows that the name of party doesn't matter. What matters is what they say and, even more, what they do!
