A couple of years ago, in a fit of hyper-political correctness, the University of Toronto decided it would be progressive and appropriate (etc etc) to make its dormitory bathrooms "gender-neutral". Having boys and girls share the "facilities" would promote harmony between the sexes, end gender discrimination, and accommodate those who are transgendered, two-spirited or simply confused (etc etc).
Turns out unisex facilities can be fun too, especially for voyeurs and other perverts. According to the Varsity (the U of T student newspaper), two women were victims of voyeurism in separate incidents in mid-September -- caught on cellphone video while showering.
Inspector Knacker of the Toronto Police said two women residents of Whitney Hall, a formerly women-only residence at University College, reported that they saw a cellphone reach over the shower-stall dividers in an attempt to record them. Police have yet to find any information about the culprit, but the investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, the university has decreased the number of gender-neutral bathrooms. Melinda Scott, the dean of students at University College, said some bathrooms in Whitney Hall have now been designated specifically for residents who -- pay attention to the PC wording here -- "identify as men or women, in a temporary measure...to provide a safe space for the women who have been directly impacted by the incidents of voyeurism and other students who may feel more comfortable in a single-gender washroom."
Did you catch that -- "identify as men or women"! Never mind what your driver's licence says. What do you feel like today -- a woman or a man?! And they would call it a "temporary measure", since to go back to men-only and women-only bathrooms would be to admit the whole concept of "gender neutrality" is wrong-headed.
Scott, who identified herself yesterday as a woman, says the college will be re-evaluating the designation of the bathrooms in the coming weeks. "The UC Residences continue to work in close collaboration with the Community Safety Office and Campus Police to ensure that the residences are a safe space for our students." Whether s/he went on to prattle about "gender diversity" and "an open and inclusive society" is unrecorded.

Cabinet minister says mass immigration is damaging Britain
One might think that Theresa May, Minister of the Interior of Once-great Britain, would be due for a carpeting* from her boss, Prime Minister David Cameron, after telling the ruling Conservative Party's annual conference that mass immigration is damaging British society.One would be wrong. Mr. Cameron says he agrees with Ms May's politically incorrect speech, clearly designed to ease British voters’ concerns that the government is failing to control the island nation’s borders.
Ms May called levels of immigration seen over the last ten years "not in the national interest.... When immigration is too high, when the pace of change is too fast, it’s impossible to build a cohesive society." She added that mass immigration strains public services like schools and hospitals, drives downs wages and pushes some people out of work.
Net migration into Britain reached a high of 330,000 people in the year to March, far above the level of 100,000 previously promised by Prime Minister Cameron. The high rate of immigration has fuelled support for rival parties, -- including the United Kingdom Independence Party feared by British liberals and the chattering classes -- and is seen as a factor that may persuade Britons to vote to leave the European Union in a referendum to be held by the end of 2017.
Walt wonders if any politicians in North America, other than Donald Trump, are paying attention. There may be some, like Canada's Stephen Harper, who agree in private but wouldn't dare say so publicly in an election year. In North America, political correctness trumps reality every time!

Priest in Vatican's Gay Mafia outs himself, gets fired
Goodness! How embarrassing! On the very eve of the Roman Catholic Bishops Synod on the Family, already rigged to roll out a holy welcome mat for homosexuals (see "Synod on the Family: the Pope's fix is in" (WWW 2/10/15), a Polish priest, Monsignor Kyzysztof Charamsa has told the world he's "happy and proud" to be gay!
Well... no biggie, right? We all know there are 1000s of gay priests. Msgr Charamsa himself told a Polish newsmagazine "The clergy is largely homosexual [Walt's emphasis] and, unfortunately, it is also homophobic to the point of paranoia but paralyzed by the lack of acceptance for its own sexual orientation." The point of outing himself, he said, is to challenge Church's "paranoia" towards sexual minorities.
If Msgr Charamsa were just an ordinary priest, in a parish in someplace like Bilaystok or Bydgoszcz, it wouldn't matter very much. But he's not. He's a theologian who, for the past 17 years, has been living in Rome, where he worked as an official in the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith!
The CDF, formerly known as the Holy Office and presided over not long ago by Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, as he then was, is the department of the Church charged with interpreting and protecting the Roman Catholic Faith. It is the office which has stated time and again that the homosexual lifestyle is gravely disordered, but that being queer is not a sin. However, it teaches -- or used to teach -- homosexual acts are mortal sins.
Msgr Charamsa may have missed that when he learned his catechism for he confessed to Corriere della Sera that he is not only gay, but living in a loving relationship with a man. [The link includes a video, not recommended for readers who are easily nauseated. Ed.]
Msgr Charamsa's scandalous confession should give the lie to those (Hello, Jeff Mirus!) who scoff at claims by Walt and others that there is a Gay Mafia operating openly within the Vatican, indeed within the very part of the Church bureaucracy charged with protecting the Faith of our fathers.
Sadly, Msgr Charamsa is only a soldier. There are others, in much higher positions. Some of them will be taking part in, or even leading (!!!), the Synod on the Family which opens tomorrow. The meeting of nearly 300 bishops and Cardinals is set to last three weeks, during which these learned and pious men will review Vatican's "approach" to gay relationships and same-sex marriage. What do you suppose they will decide? Write your guess on the back of a postage stamp and send it to Walt at the usual address.
Footnote: Oh, nearly forgot... Vatican officials said today that Msgr Charamsa's personal situation "merited respect" (!!!), but added that his statements were "very serious and irresponsible" and might possibly "subject the Synod assembly to undue media pressure." So...he has been relieved of his duties at the CDF, and will no longer allowed to work at the pontifical universities. Has he been defrocked? Errr, no. He's still a priest.

2 VIDEOS: Syrian refugees lead Muslim invasion of the West
The Wall Street Journal quotes the Donald as saying he'll deport Syrian refugees if he's elected. Since 2011, the USA has taken in about 1600 Syrians, and the Prez proposes to admit another 10,000 next year. They will be joined, the State Department said last week, by another 90,000 refugees from around the world, making a total of 100,000 more in 2016 than this year.
Mr. Trump did not explain his flip-flop on the issue. About a month ago, he compared the "refugee crisis" embroiling Europe to the mass migrations caused by World War II, and said America had an obligation to accept refugees on a "humanitarian basis".
The WSJ quotes Mr. Trump as having said, "It’s living in hell in Syria, there is no question about it. Something has to be done." (Harumph, harumph! Can I get a "harumph" from you guys?) A month ago, that was the politically correct thing to say. Everyone was pissing and moaning about the plight of these poor "refugees", weighted down by wads of cash and jewellery, trekking through eastern Europe to get to Germany to take advantage of that country's willkomenkultur. What the Donald said, way back then, was the politically correct thing to say. Very few pundits, and even fewer politicians, were prepared to voice doubts that the hundreds of thousands of migrants landing on the shores of Greece and Italy were genuine refugees. Outside of Viktor Orban and a handful of other east European leaders, no-one asked why, since almost 100% of the "refugees" are Muslims, they couldn't be accommodated and welcomed in Saudi Arabia, or the United Arab Emirates or Egypt or other Islamic kingdoms and republics.
The politically INcorrect fact is that the Muslims states don't want to play host to their co-religionists. "Let the Christians feed and clothe them!" But there's more to it than a simple lack of charity. As Walt has said before, the influx of Muslims is part and parcel of the Islamization of Europe and, eventually, North America.
Whether by accident or by design, we are being overrun, and that's a fact. But it's a rare politician who has the courage to say so in public or in the social media.
One rare politician is Joe Daniel, the Conservative candidate for election to the Canadian Parliament in the Toronto riding of Don Valley North. According to the Toronto Red Star, Mr. Daniel "stirred controversy" recently by saying that a Muslim agenda was behind the stream of refugees into Europe. Here's what he said.
This past Tuesday, he waded back into the issue at an all-candidates’ debate in north Toronto. An audience member asked Mr. Daniel about recent comments in which he warned that an "agenda" was behind the refugee crisis to move Muslims into Europe "to change these countries in a major way." In response, Mr. Daniel took aim at Middle Eastern countries for not doing more to aid the displaced civilians fleeing the civil war in Syria. Here's the video.
Walt guesses that Donald Trump's reasons for being less than sympathetic to the Syrian "refugees" may be more or less the same as those of Mr. Daniel. If only the Donald could be so articulate!

The 2015 installment of the Roman Catholic Bishops' Synod on the Family will unfold in Rome later this month. Walt predicts (lifetime pct .981) that Pope Francis and the Gay Mafia in the Vatican, having failed to get their agenda -- welcome homosexuals, let divorced Catholics remarry, "be inclusive -- approved by the required two-thirds majority last year, will succeed this year.
Why do I say that? To begin with, at least one major issue -- the status of Catholics who have divorced and remarried -- has been defused by the Pope's relaxation of the rules and process for annulment -- the so-called "Catholic divorce".
A petition for a decree of nullity can now be approved by the local bishop, and the grounds can be just about anything from infidelity to separation to lack of proper intent right down to "etc". I'm not kidding about "etc". That little abbreviation has actually been added to the list! So a divorced Catholic wishing to get back into communion with the Church need only get the OK from the local bishop, et voilà!
When it comes to more contentious issues -- the acceptance of gay "marriage", for example -- the pro-queer modernists in the Vatican are nailing the puck to their sticks [croziers? Ed.] by changing the rules! New rules for the Synod will include elimination of both an interim report and a final message from the bishops, according to an article by Edward Pentin in the National Catholic Register.
In "Critics Sound Alarm Over Possible Changes to Synod Process", Mr. Pentin reports that the new rules -- which are being unveiled by the Vatican even as I write -- will leave Pope Francis to deliver the final message on the Synod’s discussions. Citing "informed sources", he writes that the Pontiff Francis wants "nothing in writing" from the Synod fathers, leaving it to His Holiness to take from the deliberations exactly what he and his modernist cronies want.
Another rumored change is that the rule on propositions having to pass by a two-thirds majority might be eliminated and a simple majority take its place. This would favour controversial proposals, such as those put forward by Cardinal Walter "the Friendly Ghost" Kasper, because his thesis only received a simple majority at the last synod. It should have therefore been rejected under the rules in place, but the Holy Father insisted that it, and the paragraph on a new approach to same-sex relationships that also failed to achieve a two-thirds majority, remain in the lineamenta (guidelines), for this October’s synod.
As the Synod on the Family nears, Catholics need to be aware of what is at stake. If the indissolubility of marriage can be rejected, along with the Church’s teaching that homosexual acts are intrinsically evil, then no doctrine is safe, no moral teaching beyond questioning. This is a moment of unprecedented crisis. Let us pray that the Holy Spirit, Who Our Lord told us would protect His Church from error, will move the bishops to stand up to the pressure being exerted by the modernists, and hold fast to the Traditional Catholic Faith.

What do you think of the Ontario government's VIDEO promoting its new "dirty" sex-ed curriculum?
A month ago -- just in time for the start of the new school year -- Ontario's lesbian-led Liberal government released a TV ad promoting their pro-LGBTQ sex education curriculum. They put it up on YouTube (of course) where in just a few days it reached 100 "likes"... and over 1400 "dislikes"!
Surprisingly surprised by the adverse reaction, the brainiacs at the Ministry of Education pulled the video down, thus erasing all the "views" and "dislikes" previously displayed. Now they've re-upped it. This time, though, they've thoughtfully disabled comments, and also blocked us getting an embed code. But they can't stop Walt from telling you where to find it on YouTube. Click here.
You can't comment, but you can still give "Show of Hands" a thumbs-up, or a thumbs-down. When I looked earlier this afternoon, it had received nine (count `em -- 9) "likes" and almost 1800 "dislikes".

It's "Don't confuse me, I'm a girl", the video produced by the Institute for Canadian Values that scandalized "progressive thinkers" and chattering classes way back in 2011, the first time the liberals in Ontario's Ministry of Education tried to push their pro-queer agenda into the province's schools.
